¹¹ The house of the wicked will be destroyed, but the tent of the upright will flourish.

⁶ if you are pure and upright, even now He will rouse Himself on your behalf and restore your righteous estate.

¹⁵ He leans on his web, but it gives way; he holds fast, but it does not endure.

³⁴ For the company of the godless will be barren, and fire will consume the tents of bribery.

¹⁴ He is torn from the shelter of his tent and is marched off to the king of terrors. ¹⁵ Fire resides in his tent; burning sulfur rains down on his dwelling.

²¹ Surely such is the dwelling of the wicked and the place of one who does not know God.”

²⁶ Total darkness is reserved for his treasures. A fire unfanned will consume him and devour what is left in his tent. ²⁷ The heavens will expose his iniquity, and the earth will rise up against him. ²⁸ The possessions of his house will be removed, flowing away on the day of God’s wrath.

²⁸ For you say, ‘Where now is the nobleman’s house, and where are the tents in which the wicked dwell?’

¹³ This is the wicked man’s portion from God—the heritage the ruthless receive from the Almighty. ¹⁴ Though his sons are many, they are destined for the sword; and his offspring will never have enough food. ¹⁵ His survivors will be buried by the plague, and their widows will not weep for them. ¹⁶ Though he heaps up silver like dust and piles up a wardrobe like clay, ¹⁷ what he lays up, the righteous will wear, and his silver will be divided by the innocent. ¹⁸ The house he built is like a moth’s cocoon, like a hut set up by a watchman. ¹⁹ He lies down wealthy, but will do so no more; when he opens his eyes, all is gone. ²⁰ Terrors overtake him like a flood; a tempest sweeps him away in the night. ²¹ The east wind carries him away, and he is gone; it sweeps him out of his place. ²² It hurls itself against him without mercy as he flees headlong from its power. ²³ It claps its hands at him and hisses him out of his place.

² His descendants will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed. ³ Wealth and riches are in his house, and his righteousness endures forever.

³ Your wife will be like a fruitful vine flourishing within your house, your sons like olive shoots sitting around your table.

³³ The curse of the LORD is on the house of the wicked, but He blesses the home of the righteous.

²⁸ He who trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous will thrive like foliage.

⁷ The wicked are overthrown and perish, but the house of the righteous will stand.

¹² The Righteous One considers the house of the wicked and brings the wicked to ruin.

²⁰ Precious treasures and oil are in the dwelling of the wise, but a foolish man consumes them.

¹¹ The LORD will always guide you; He will satisfy you in a sun-scorched land and strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail. ¹² Your people will rebuild the ancient ruins; you will restore the age-old foundations; you will be called Repairer of the Breach, Restorer of the Streets of Dwelling.

⁴ I will send it out, declares the LORD of Hosts, and it will enter the house of the thief and the house of him who swears falsely by My name. It will remain inside his house and destroy it, down to its timbers and stones.”

²⁶ But everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. ²⁷ The rain fell, the torrents raged, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell—and great was its collapse!”
