¹⁵ And the Lord said to me, Take yet to thee shepherd's implements belonging to an unskillful shepherd.

¹⁰ For the heart of this people has become gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them. ¹¹ And I said, How long, O Lord? And he said, Until cities be deserted by reason of their not being inhabited, and the houses by reason of there being no men, and the land shall be left desolate. ¹² And after this God shall remove the men far off, and they that are left upon the land shall be multiplied.

²⁶ As is the shame of a thief when he is caught, so shall the children of Israel be ashamed; they, and their kings, and their princes, and their priests, and their prophets. ²⁷ They said to a stock, Thou art my father; and to a stone, Thou has begotten me: and they have turned their backs to me, and not their faces: yet in the time of their afflictions they will say, Arise, and save us.

¹⁴ NUN. Thy prophets have seen for thee vanities and folly: and they have not discovered thine iniquity, to turn back thy captivity; but they have seen for thee vain burdens, and worthless visions.

³ Thus saith the Lord, Woe to them that prophesy out of their own heart, and who see nothing at all.
