¹⁴ I do not write these things to shame you, but as my beloved children I admonish you.

²¹ But if you warn the righteous not to sin, and he sin not, the righteous shall surely live, because you have warned him; and you shall deliver your own soul.

³¹ Therefore be alert, remembering that for three years, night and day I did not cease, with tears, exhorting each one.

¹⁵ For though you might have ten thousand tutors in Christ, yet you do not have many fathers; for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.

⁵ I say this to your shame. So is there not among you a wise man, not even one, who will be able to judge between his brother and another?

¹⁵ But I used none of these things, nor have I written these things that it should become thus for me; for it is better for me rather to die than that anyone should make my boasting void.

³⁴ Awake to righteousness, and do not sin, for some have no knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame.

¹¹ O Corinthians! We have spoken openly to you, our heart has been opened wide. ¹² You are not restricted by us, but you are restricted by your own affections. ¹³ Now in return for the same--I speak as to children--you also be opened wide.

³ I do not speak to condemn you; for I have said before that you are in our hearts, so that we die together and we live together.

¹¹ Why? Because I do not love you? God knows!

¹⁴ Now for the third time I am ready to come to you, and I will not burden you. For I do not seek what is yours, but you. For the children ought not to store up for the parents, but the parents for the children. ¹⁵ And I gladly will spend and be expended for your souls; although the more abundantly I love you, the less I am loved.

¹⁹ Again, do you think that we are defending ourselves to you? We speak before God in Christ. But we do all things, beloved, for your edification.

²⁸ whom we proclaim, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus;

¹¹ as indeed you know how each one of you, as a father to his own children, we exhorted, and comforted you, and imploring you,

¹⁴ Now we exhort you, brothers, admonish the disorderly, encourage the discouraged, be supportive of the weak, be patient toward all.

⁴ I have no greater joy than these things, that I hear that my children are walking in truth.
