¹⁵ And the men who were called by name rose up, and took hold of the prisoners, and clothed all the naked from the spoils, and gave them garments and shoes, and gave them food to eat, and oil to anoint themselves with, and they let everyone that was weak to ride on donkeys, and placed them in Jericho, the city of palm trees, with their brethren; and they returned to Samaria.

³ and the wilderness, and the country round about Jericho, the city of palm trees, to Zoar.

¹⁶ And the children of Jethro the Kenite, the father-in-law of Moses, went up from the City of Palm Trees with the children of Judah, to the wilderness that is in the south of Judah, which is at the descent of Arad, and they dwelt with the people.

²² And he said, You shall not kill them, unless you would kill those whom you have taken captive with your sword and with your bow--set bread and water before them, and let them eat and drink, and depart to their master.

¹² And the chiefs of the sons of Ephraim rose up, Azariah the son of Johanan, Berechiah the son of Meshillemoth, Jehizkiah the son of Shallum, and Amasa the son of Hadlai, against those that came from the war,

¹⁵ Were not they formed too, as I also was formed in the womb? Yea, we were formed in the same womb. ¹⁶ But the helpless missed not whatever need they had, and I did not cause the eye of the widow to fail. ¹⁷ And if I also ate my morsel alone, and did not impart of it to the orphan; ¹⁸ (for I nourished them as a father from my youth and guided them from my mother's womb.) ¹⁹ And if I too overlooked the naked as he was perishing, and did not clothe him; ²⁰ and if the poor did not bless me, and their shoulders were not warmed with the fleece of my lambs; ²¹ if I lifted my hand against an orphan, trusting that my strength was far superior to his: ²² then let my shoulder start from the blade bone, and my arm be crushed off from the elbow. ²³ For the fear of the Lord constrained me, and I cannot bear up by reason of His burden.

²¹ If your enemy hungers, feed him; if he thirsts, give him drink; ²² for so doing you shall heap coals of fire upon his head, and the Lord shall reward you with good.

⁷ Break your bread to the hungry, and lead the unsheltered poor to your house; if you see one naked, clothe him, and you shall not disregard the relations of your own seed.

³⁵ for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; ³⁶ I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.' ³⁷ "Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? ³⁸ When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? ³⁹ Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?' ⁴⁰ "And the King will answer and say to them, 'Assuredly I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brothers, you did it to Me.' ⁴¹ "Then He will also say to those on the left, 'Depart from Me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels: ⁴² for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink; ⁴³ I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.' ⁴⁴ "Then they also will answer, saying, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and we did not minister to You?' ⁴⁵ "Then He will answer them, saying, 'Assuredly I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, neither did you do it to Me.'

²⁷ "But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,

²⁷ And when He got out on the land, there met Him a certain man from the city who had demons for a long time. And he wore no clothes, nor did he live in a house, but among the tombs.

³⁵ Then they went out to see what had happened, and they came to Jesus, and found the man from whom the demons had come out of, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed and being of sound mind. And they were afraid.

³⁹ And arising, Peter went with them. When he arrived, they took him into the upper room, and all the widows stood beside him weeping, showing him tunics and cloaks which Dorcas was making, while being with them.

²⁰ Therefore "If your enemy should hunger, feed him; if he should thirst, give him drink; for by doing this you will heap coals of fire upon his head." ²¹ Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

¹ We then who are strong are obligated to bear with the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves.

¹⁰ having a reputation for good works, if she has brought up children, if she has lodged strangers, if she has washed the saints' feet, if she has relieved the afflicted, if she has diligently followed every good work.

¹⁵ If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, ¹⁶ and one of you says to them, "Go in peace, be warmed and filled," but you do not give them the necessary things of the body, what is the benefit?

¹⁷ But whoever has this world's goods, and sees his brother having need, and shuts off his compassion towards him, how does the love of God abide in him? ¹⁸ My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.
