²² However, Josiah turned not his face from him, but strengthened himself to fight against him, and hearkened not to the words of Necho by the mouth of God, and he came to fight in the plain of Megiddo.

³⁰ And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat king of Judah, I will disguise myself, and enter into the battle, and you put on my robes. So the king of Israel disguised himself, and went into the battle.

³⁴ And one drew a bow with a good aim, and struck the king of Israel between the lungs and the breastplate. And he said to his charioteer, Turn your hands, and carry me away out of the battle, for I am wounded.

²⁷ But when Ahaziah king of Judah saw it, he fled by the way of Beth Haggan. And Jehu pursued after him, and said, Slay him also. So one shot him in the chariot at the Ascent of Gur, which is by Ibleam. And he fled to Megiddo, and died there.

³⁰ And his servants carried him dead from Megiddo, and brought him to Jerusalem, and buried him in his tomb. And the people of the land took Jehoahaz the son of Josiah, and anointed him, and made him king in the place of his father.

⁴ And Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, Please seek the Lord today. ⁵ And the king of Israel gathered the prophets, four hundred men, and said to them, Shall I go to Ramoth Gilead to battle, or shall I refrain? And they said, Go up, and God shall deliver it into the hands of the king. ⁶ And Jehoshaphat said, Is there not still a prophet of the Lord here, that we may inquire of Him?

²⁹ And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, Disguise me, and I will enter into the battle; and you put on my robes. So the king of Israel disguised himself, and entered into the battle.

²¹ And he sent messengers to him, saying, What have I to do with you, O king of Judah? I have not come today to war against you; and God has told me to make haste; beware of the God that is with me, lest He destroy you.

¹¹ In that day the lamentation in Jerusalem shall be very great, as the mourning for the pomegranate grove cut down in the plain.

¹⁶ And he gathered them together to the place called in Hebrew, Armageddon.
