¹³ And Elisha said to the king of Israel, What have I to do with you? Go to the prophets of your father, and the prophets of your mother. And the king of Israel said to him, Has the Lord called the three kings to deliver them into the hands of Moab?

³⁷ And the Lord said, Where are their gods on whom they trusted? ³⁸ The fat of whose sacrifices you ate, and you drank the wine of their drink offerings? Let them arise and help you, and be your protectors. ³⁹ Behold I, even I, am He, and there is no God beside Me: I kill, and I will make to live: I will smite, and I will heal; and there is none who shall deliver out of My hands.

¹⁴ Go, and cry to the gods whom you have chosen to yourselves, and let them save you in the time of your affliction.

¹⁵ And Naomi said to Ruth, Behold, your sister-in-law has returned to her people and to her gods; turn now also after your sister-in-law.

¹⁹ And now send, gather to me all Israel to Mount Carmel, and the four hundred and fifty prophets of shame, and the four hundred prophets of the groves, that eat at Jezebel's table.

⁶ And the king of Israel gathered all the prophets together, about four hundred men. And the king said to them, Shall I go up to Ramoth Gilead to battle, or shall I refrain? And they said, Go up, for the Lord will surely give it into the hands of the king.

¹⁰ And the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat king of Judah sat, each on his throne, armed in the gates of Samaria; and all the prophets prophesied before them. ¹¹ And Zedekiah son of Chenaanah made for himself iron horns, and said, Thus says the Lord: With these you shall push the Syrians, until they are consumed.

²² And the Lord said to him, In what way? And he said, I will go forth, and will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And he said, You shall deceive him; yea, and you shall prevail: go forth, and do so. ²³ And now, behold, the Lord has put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these your prophets, and the Lord has spoken evil against you. ²⁴ And Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah came near and struck Micaiah on the cheek, and said, What sort of a spirit of the Lord has spoken in you? ²⁵ And Micaiah said, Behold, you shall see in that day, when you shall go into an innermost chamber to hide yourself there.

¹⁰ And the king of Israel said, Alas! That the Lord should have called the three kings on their way, to give them into the hand of Moab.

²⁸ For it shall be that when you call upon me, I will not listen to you: wicked men shall seek me, but shall not find me.

²⁷ They said to a tree, You are my father; and to a stone, You have begotten me; and they have turned their backs to Me, and not their faces. Yet in the time of their afflictions they will say, Arise, and save us. ²⁸ And where are your gods which you have made for yourself? Will they arise and save you in the time of your affliction? For according to the number of your cities were your gods, O Judah; and according to the number of the streets of Jerusalem they sacrificed to Baal.

³ Son of man, these men have conceived their devices in their hearts, and have set before their faces the punishment of their iniquities: shall I indeed answer them? ⁴ Therefore speak to them, and you shall say to them, Thus says the Lord: Any man of the house of Israel, who shall conceive his devices in his heart, and shall set the punishment of his iniquity before his face, and shall come to the prophet; I the Lord will answer him according to the things in which his mind is entangled, ⁵ that he should turn aside the house of Israel, according to their hearts that are estranged from Me in their thoughts.

¹ In their affliction they will seek Me early, saying, Let us go, and return to the Lord our God; for He has torn, and will heal us; He will smite, and bind us up.

²⁹ And suddenly they cried out, saying, "What have we to do with You, Jesus, Son of God? Have You come here to torment us before the time?"

⁴ Jesus said to her, "Woman, what have I to do with you? My hour has not yet come."

¹⁶ Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer.

¹⁵ And what agreement is there for Christ with Belial? Or what part is there for a believer with an infidel?
