¹ In the third year of Cyrus king of the Persians a thing was revealed to Daniel, whose name was called Belteshazzar; and the thing was true, and great power and understanding in the vision was given to him. ² In those days I, Daniel was mourning three full weeks. ³ I ate no pleasant bread, and no flesh or wine entered into my mouth, neither did I anoint myself with oil, until three whole weeks were accomplished. ⁴ On the twenty-fourth day of the first month, I was near the great river, that is, the Tigris. ⁵ And I lifted up my eyes and looked, and behold, a man clothed in linen, and his loins were girt with gold of Ophaz. ⁶ And his body was like beryl, and his face was as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as lamps of fire, and his arms and his legs as the appearance of shining brass, and the voice of his words as the voice of a multitude. ⁷ And I, Daniel alone saw the vision: and the men that were with me saw not the vision; but a great amazement fell upon them, and they fled in fear. ⁸ So I was left alone, and saw this great vision, and there was no strength left in me, and my glory was turned into corruption, and I retained no strength. ⁹ Yet I heard the voice of his words; and when I heard him I was cut to the heart, and I fell with my face to the earth. ¹⁰ And behold, a hand touched me, and it raised me on my knees. ¹¹ And he said to me, O Daniel, man greatly beloved, understand the words which I speak to you, and stand upright, for I am now sent to you. And when he had spoken to me this word, I stood trembling. ¹² And he said to me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to afflict yourself before the Lord your God, your words were heard, and I have come because of your words. ¹³ But the prince of the kingdom of the Persians withstood me twenty-one days; and behold, Michael, one of the princes, came to help me; and I left him there with the prince of the kingdom of the Persians. ¹⁴ And I have come to inform you of all that shall befall your people in the last days, for the vision refers to many days yet to come. ¹⁵ And when he had spoken with me according to these words, I turned my face to the ground, and was cut to the heart. ¹⁶ And behold, as it were the likeness of a son of man touched my lips; and I opened my mouth, and spoke, and said to him that stood before me, O my lord, at the sight of you my insides were turned within me, and I had no strength. ¹⁷ And how shall your servant be able, O my lord, to speak with this my lord? And as for me, from now on strength will not remain in me, and there is no breath left in me. ¹⁸ And there touched me again as it were the appearance of a man, and he strengthened me, ¹⁹ and said to me, Fear not, man greatly beloved: peace be to you, gird yourself like a man, and be strong. And when he had spoken with me, I received strength, and said, Let my lord speak; for you have strengthened me. ²⁰ And he said, Do you know why I have come to you? And now I will return to fight with the prince of the Persians: and I was going in, and the prince of the Greeks came. ²¹ But I will tell you that which is ordained in the scripture of truth; and there is no one that holds with me in these matters but Michael your prince.

³² And concerning the repetition of the dream to Pharaoh twice, it is because the saying which is from God shall be true, and God will hasten to accomplish it.

²² In the first year of Cyrus king of the Persians, after the fulfillment of the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah, the Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of the Persians, and told him to make proclamation in writing throughout all his kingdom, saying,

⁷ And King Cyrus brought out the vessels of the house of the Lord, which Nebuchadnezzar had brought from Jerusalem, and put in the house of his god. ⁸ And Cyrus king of the Persians brought them out by the hand of Mithradath the treasurer, and he numbered them to Sheshbazzar, the chief man of Judah.

⁷ And they gave money to the stone masons and carpenters, and food and drink, and oil, to the Sidonians, and Tyrians, to bring cedar trees from Lebanon to the sea of Joppa, according to the grant of Cyrus king of the Persians to them.

³ Then Zerubbabel and Jeshua and the rest of the heads of the families of Israel said to them, It is not for us and you to build a house to our God, for we ourselves will build together to the Lord our God, as Cyrus the king of the Persians commanded us.

⁵ and continued hiring people against them, plotting to frustrate their counsel, all the days of Cyrus king of the Persians, and until the reign of Darius king of the Persians.

¹³ And in the first year of King Cyrus, Cyrus the king made a decree that this house of God should be built. ¹⁴ And the gold and silver vessels of the house of God, which Nebuchadnezzar brought out from the house that was in Jerusalem, and carried them into the temple of the king, those King Cyrus brought out from the temple of the king, and gave to Sheshbazzar the treasurer, who was over the treasury, ¹⁵ and said to him, Take all the vessels, and go, put them in the house that is in Jerusalem in their place. ¹⁶ Then that Sheshbazzar came, and laid the foundations of the house of God in Jerusalem. And from that time even until now it has been building, and has not been finished. ¹⁷ And now, if it seems good to the king, let a search be made in the treasure house of the king at Babylon, that you may know whether it is so, that a decree was made by King Cyrus to build that house of God that was in Jerusalem, and let the king send to us when he has learned concerning this matter.

³ In the first year of King Cyrus, Cyrus the king made a decree concerning the holy house of God that was in Jerusalem, saying, Let the house be built, and the place where they offer the sacrifices (Also he appointed its elevation, in height sixty cubits; its breadth was of sixty cubits).

¹⁴ And the elders of the Jews and the Levites built, at the prophecy of Haggai the prophet, and Zechariah the son of Iddo; and they built up, and finished it, by the decree of the God of Israel, and by the decree of Cyrus, and Darius, and Artaxerxes, kings of the Persians.

²⁸ Who bids Cyrus, Be wise, and he shall perform all My will; who says to Jerusalem, You shall be built, and I will lay the foundation of My holy house.

⁷ And the chief of the eunuchs gave them names: to Daniel, Belteshazzar; and to Hananiah, Shadrach; and to Mishael, Meshach; and to Azariah, Abed-Nego.

¹⁷ And as for these four children, God gave them understanding and prudence in all learning and wisdom. And Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.

²¹ And Daniel continued till the first year of King Cyrus.

²¹ And He changes times and seasons; He appoints kings, and removes them, giving wisdom to the wise, and prudence to them that have understanding.

⁸ until Daniel came, whose name is Belteshazzar, according to the name of my god, who has within him the Holy Spirit of God, to whom I said,

¹² For there is an excellent spirit in him, and sense and understanding is in him, interpreting dreams as he does, and answering hard questions, and solving riddles. It is Daniel, and the king gave him the name of Belteshazzar. Now then let him be called, and he shall tell you the interpretation of the writing.

¹⁷ And Daniel said before the king, Let your gifts be to yourself, and give the presents of your house to another; but I will read the writing, and will make known to you its interpretation.

²⁸ And Daniel prospered in the reign of Darius, and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian.

¹⁶ And I heard the voice of a man between the banks of the Ulai; and he called, and said, Gabriel, cause this man to understand the vision.

²⁶ And the vision of the evening and morning that was mentioned is true: seal up the vision; for it is for many days.

²² And he instructed me, and spoke with me, and said, O Daniel, I have now come forth to impart to you understanding. ²³ At the beginning of your supplication the word came forth, and I have come to tell you; for you are a man much beloved: therefore consider the matter, and understand the vision:

¹⁴ And I have come to inform you of all that shall befall your people in the last days, for the vision refers to many days yet to come.

² And now I will tell you the truth. Behold, there shall yet rise up three kings in Persia: and the fourth shall be far more richer than all. And after that he is master of his wealth, he shall rise up against all the kingdoms of the Greeks.

⁴ And you, Daniel, close the words, and seal the book to the time of the end; until many are taught, and knowledge is increased.

⁹ And he said, Go, Daniel; for the words are closed and sealed up to the time of the end.

²⁰ But behold, you shall be silent and not able to speak until the day these things take place, because you did not believe my words which shall be fulfilled in their season."

⁹ Then he said to me, "Write: 'Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb!' " And he said to me, "These are the true words of God."

⁴ Then there assembled to me all that followed the word of the God of Israel, on account of the transgression of the captivity; and I remained mourning until the evening sacrifice. ⁵ And at the evening sacrifice I rose up from my humiliation; and when I had tore my clothes, then I trembled, and I bowed myself on my knees, and spread out my hands to the Lord God,

⁴ And it came to pass, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned for several days, and continued fasting and praying before the God of heaven.

⁹ I will say to God, You are my helper; why have You forgotten me? Why do I mourn, while the enemy oppresses me?

² for You are my strength; why have You cast me off? And why do I go mourning, while the enemy oppresses me?

¹ For David, A Psalm of Jeremiah. By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat; and wept when we remembered Zion. ² We hung our harps on the willows in the midst of it. ³ For there they that had taken us captive asked of us the words of a song; and they that had carried us away asked a hymn, saying, Sing us one of the songs of Zion. ⁴ How should we sing the Lord's song in a strange land? ⁵ If I forget you, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget its skill.

¹⁰ Rejoice, O Jerusalem, and all you that love her hold in her a general assembly; rejoice greatly with her, all that now mourn over her;

¹ Who will give water to my head, and a fountain of tears to my eyes? Then would I weep for this my people day and night, even for the slain of the daughter of my people.

²⁴ Seventy weeks have been determined upon your people, and upon the holy city, for sin to be ended, to seal up transgressions, to blot out iniquities, to make atonement for iniquities, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy, and to anoint the Most Holy. ²⁵ And you shall know and understand, that from the going forth of the command for the answer and for the building of Jerusalem, until Christ the Prince, there shall be seven weeks, and sixty-two weeks; and then the time shall return, and the street shall be built, and the wall, and the times shall be exhausted. ²⁶ And after the sixty-two weeks, the Anointed One shall be killed, and there is no judgment in Him. And He shall destroy the city and the sanctuary with the prince that is to come: they shall be cut off with a flood, and to the end of the war which is rapidly completed He shall appoint the city to desolations. ²⁷ And one week shall establish the covenant with many. And in the midst of the week my sacrifice and drink offering shall be taken away: and on the temple shall be the abomination of desolations; and at the end of the time an end shall be put to the desolation.

¹⁵ And Jesus said to them, "Can the groomsmen mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them? But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them, and then they will fast.

² that I have great sorrow and unceasing pain in my heart.

⁹ Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter change into mourning and your joy into dejection.

⁵ And if anyone wants to harm them, fire proceeds from their mouth and devours their enemies. And if anyone wants to harm them, he must be killed in this way.

²⁴ And Memphibosheth the son of Saul's son went down to meet the king, and had not dressed his feet, nor trimmed his nails, nor shaved himself, neither had he washed his garments, from the day that the king departed, until the day that he arrived in peace.

²⁰ And he shall not be able to take any food, though his soul shall desire meat;

⁶ Therefore a curse shall consume the earth, because its inhabitants have sinned; therefore the inhabitants of the earth shall be poor, and few men shall be left. ⁷ The wine shall mourn, the vine shall mourn, all the merry-hearted shall sigh. ⁸ The mirth of timbrels has ceased, the sound of the harp has ceased. ⁹ They are ashamed, they have not drunk wine; strong drink has become bitter to them that drink it. ¹⁰ All the city has become desolate; one shall shut his house so that none shall enter. ¹¹ There is a howling for the wine everywhere; all the mirth of the land has ceased, all the mirth of the land has departed.

¹⁸ And the king departed to his house, and lay down fasting, and they brought him no food; and his sleep departed from him. But God shut the mouths of the lions, and they did not molest Daniel.

⁸ Yea, he shall carry with a body of captives into Egypt their gods with their molten images, and all their precious vessels of silver and gold; and he shall last longer than the king of the north.

¹¹ Therefore because they have smitten the poor with their fists, and you have received of them choice gifts, you have built polished houses, but you shall not dwell in them; you have planted desirable vineyards, but you shall not drink the wine of them.

⁹ They plundered the silver, they plundered the gold, and there was no end of their adorning; they were loaded with it upon all their pleasant vessels.

¹⁷ But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face,

²⁷ But I treat my body roughly, and I bring it into subjection, lest, having preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.

¹⁴ And the third river is Tigris, this is that which flows forth over against the Assyrians. And the fourth river is Euphrates.

³ And the word of the Lord came to Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans, by the River Chebar; and the hand of the Lord was upon me.

² And I was in Susa the palace, which is in the land of Elam, and I was on the bank of the Ulai.

¹³ And it came to pass when Joshua was in Jericho, that he looked up with his eyes and saw a Man standing before him, and there was a drawn sword in His hand. And Joshua drew near and said to Him, Are You for us, or for our enemies?

⁵ And He shall have His loins girded with righteousness, and His sides clothed with truth.

⁹ brought from Tarshish, gold will come from Uphaz, and the work of goldsmiths. They are all the works of craftsmen, they will clothe themselves with blue and scarlet.

² And behold, six men came from the way of the high gate that looks toward the north, and each one's axe was in his hand; and there was one man in the midst of them clothed with a long robe down to his feet, and a sapphire belt was on his loins. And they came in and stood near the bronze altar.

⁶ And one said to the man clothed in linen, who was over the water of the river, When will be the end of the wonders which you have mentioned? ⁷ And I heard the man clothed in linen, who was over the water of the river, and he lifted up his right hand and his left hand to heaven, and swore by Him that lives forever, that it should be for a time, times and half a time. When the dispersion is ended, they shall know all these things.

⁸ I saw by night, and behold, a man mounted on a red horse, and he stood between the shady mountains; and behind him were red horses, and gray, and piebald, and white.

¹⁴ Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness,

¹³ and in the midst of the seven lampstands stood One like the Son of Man, having been clothed in a robe reaching to His feet and having been girded across His chest with a golden belt. ¹⁴ And His head and His hair were white, and like white wool, like snow, and His eyes were like a flame of fire; ¹⁵ And His feet were like fine brass, as if refined in a furnace, and His voice as the sound of many waters;

⁶ And out of the temple came the seven angels having the seven plagues, who were dressed in pure bright linen, and having their chests girded with golden belts. ⁷ Then one of the four living beings gave to the seven angels seven golden bowls full of the wrath of God who lives forever and ever.

²⁰ And the fourth row, a chrysolite, a beryl, and an onyx stone, set round with gold, bound together with gold: let them be according to their row.

⁷ And their legs were straight; and their feet were winged, and there were sparks, like gleaming brass, and their wings were light.

¹⁶ And the appearance of the wheels was as the appearance of beryl: and the four had one likeness; and their work was as it were a wheel in a wheel.

²⁴ And I heard the sound of their wings when they went, as the sound of much water: and when they stood, their wings were let down.

⁹ And I saw, and behold, four wheels stood by the cherubim, one wheel by each cherub: and the appearance of the wheels was as the appearance of a carbuncle stone.

² and He was transfigured before them, and His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light.

²⁹ And while He was praying, the appearance of His face became different, and His clothing became white and glistening.

¹³ and in the midst of the seven lampstands stood One like the Son of Man, having been clothed in a robe reaching to His feet and having been girded across His chest with a golden belt. ¹⁴ And His head and His hair were white, and like white wool, like snow, and His eyes were like a flame of fire; ¹⁵ And His feet were like fine brass, as if refined in a furnace, and His voice as the sound of many waters; ¹⁶ He had in His right hand seven stars, out of His mouth proceeded a sharp two-edged sword, and His countenance was as the sun shining in its strength. ¹⁷ And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as if dead. But He put His right hand on me, saying, "Do not fear; I am the First and the Last.

¹ And I saw a mighty angel coming down from heaven, having been clothed with a cloud, and a rainbow on his head, and his face was like the sun, and his feet like pillars of fire,

³ and cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roars. And when he cried out, the seven thunders uttered their own voices. ⁴ Now when the seven thunders spoke, I was about to write. But I heard a voice from heaven saying, "Seal up the things which the seven thunders said, and after these things you shall write."

¹² His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns, having names written, and a name written that no one knows except Himself.

²⁰ the fifth sardonyx, the sixth carnelian, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, and the twelfth amethyst.

^{10 (3:11)} And he said to Him, I heard Your voice as You walked in the garden, and I feared because I was naked and I hid myself.

¹⁷ And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, open the eyes of the servant, I pray, and let him see. And the Lord opened his eyes, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses, and there were chariots of fire round about Elisha. ¹⁸ And they came down to him; and he prayed to the Lord, and said, Strike this people, I pray, with blindness. And He struck them with blindness, according to the word of Elisha. ¹⁹ And Elisha said to them, This is not the city, and this is not the way: follow me, and I will bring you to the man whom you seek. And he led them away to Samaria. ²⁰ And it came to pass when they entered into Samaria, that Elisha said, O Lord, open their eyes, and let them see. And the Lord opened their eyes, and they saw; and behold, they were in the midst of Samaria.

¹⁰ Now therefore enter into the rocks, and hide yourselves in the earth, for fear of the Lord, and by reason of the glory of His might, when He shall arise to strike mightily the earth.

²⁴ Shall anyone hide himself in secret places, and I not see him? Do I not fill heaven and earth? Says the Lord.

¹⁸ Son of man, eat your bread with sorrow, and drink your water with torment and affliction.

⁷ And the men who were traveling with him stood speechless, hearing the voice but seeing no one.

⁹ "And those who were with me observed the light and became terrified, but they did not hear the voice of the One speaking to me.

²¹ And so fearful was the spectacle, that Moses said, "I am greatly afraid and trembling."

²⁴ And Jacob was left alone; and a Man wrestled with him till the morning. ²⁵ And He saw that He prevailed not against him; and He touched the broad part of his thigh, and the broad part of Jacob's thigh was numbed in his wrestling with Him.

³¹ And the sun rose upon him, when he passed Peniel; and he limped upon his thigh.

³ And Moses said, I will go near and see this great sight, why the bush is not consumed.

²⁸ This is the end of the matter. As for me, Daniel, my thoughts greatly troubled me, and my countenance was changed: but I kept the matter in my heart.

⁷ And I saw him coming up close to the ram, and he was exceedingly enraged against him, and he attacked the ram, and broke both his horns: and there was no strength in the ram to withstand him, but he cast him on the ground, and trampled on him; and there was none that could deliver the ram out of his hand.

²⁷ And I, Daniel, fell asleep, and was sick. Then I arose, and did the king's business; and I was astonished by the vision, and there was none that understood it.

¹⁶ I watched, and my belly trembled at the sound of the prayer of my lips, and trembling entered into my bones, and my frame was troubled within me; I will rest in the day of affliction, from going up to the people of my sojourning.

⁶ And when the disciples heard this, they fell on their faces and they were greatly afraid.

⁶ for he did not know what he should say, for they were terrified.

³² Indeed a time is coming, and now has come, that you will be scattered, each to his own, and you will leave Me alone. And yet I am not alone, because the Father is with Me.

² I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago--whether in the body I do not know, or whether out of the body I do not know, God knows--such a one was caught up to the third heaven. ³ And I know such a man--whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, God knows--

⁷ And lest I exalt myself above measure by the excellence of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, an angel of Satan, that it might beat me, lest I exalt myself above measure.

¹⁷ And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as if dead. But He put His right hand on me, saying, "Do not fear; I am the First and the Last.

²¹ And God brought a trance upon Adam, and he slept, and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place.

¹² And about sunset a trance fell upon Abram, and behold, a great gloomy terror fell upon him.

¹³ But as when terror falls upon men, with dread and a sound in the night,

¹⁵ sending a dream, or in the meditation of the night (as when a dreadful alarm happens to fall upon men, while sleeping on the bed),

² I sleep, but my heart is awake: the voice of my kinsman knocks at the door, saying, Open, open to me, my companion, my sister, my dove, my perfect one: for my head is filled with dew, and my locks with the drops of the night.

¹⁸ And while he spoke with me, I fell upon my face to the earth. And he touched me, and set me on my feet.

³² But Peter and those with him were heavy with sleep; but becoming fully awake, they saw His glory and the two men who stood with Him.

⁴⁵ And rising up from prayer, coming to the disciples, He found them sleeping from sorrow.

⁹ And the Lord stretched forth His hand to me, and touched my mouth. And the Lord said to me, Behold, I have put My words into your mouth.

²¹ yes, while I was yet speaking in prayer, behold the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, came flying, and he touched me about the hour of the evening sacrifice.

¹⁶ And behold, as it were the likeness of a son of man touched my lips; and I opened my mouth, and spoke, and said to him that stood before me, O my lord, at the sight of you my insides were turned within me, and I had no strength.

¹⁸ And there touched me again as it were the appearance of a man, and he strengthened me,

¹⁴ horror and trembling seized me, and caused all my bones greatly to shake. ¹⁵ And a spirit came before my face; and my hair and flesh quivered. ¹⁶ I arose and perceived it not. I looked, and there was no form before my eyes: but I only heard a breath and a voice, saying,

¹ At this also my heart is troubled, and moved out of its place.

¹¹ Because the King has desired your beauty; for He is your Lord.

¹⁰ I am my kinsman's, and his desire is toward me.

¹ This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. And I saw and fell upon my face, and heard the voice of One speaking. And He said to me, Son of man, stand upon your feet, and I will speak to you.

¹⁶ And I heard the voice of a man between the banks of the Ulai; and he called, and said, Gabriel, cause this man to understand the vision. ¹⁷ And he came and stood near where I stood. And when he came, I was struck with awe, and fell upon my face. But he said to me, Understand, son of man, for the vision is yet for an appointed time.

¹⁹ and said to me, Fear not, man greatly beloved: peace be to you, gird yourself like a man, and be strong. And when he had spoken with me, I received strength, and said, Let my lord speak; for you have strengthened me.

⁸ And going out, they fled from the tomb, but trembling and amazement held them; and they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid.

²³ Now there was reclining on Jesus' bosom one of His disciples, the one whom Jesus loved.

²⁰ Then Peter, turning around, saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following, who also had reclined on His chest at the supper, and said, "Lord, who is the one who betrays You?"

⁶ "But stand up and enter into the city, and it will be spoken to you what you must do."

¹⁶ But arise and stand on your feet; for I have appeared to you, to appoint you a minister and a witness both of the things which you have seen, and of the things which I will yet reveal to you,

²⁹ And this shall be a perpetual statute for you; in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, you shall humble your souls, and shall do no work, the native and the stranger who abides among you.

³¹ This shall be to you a most holy Sabbath, a rest, and you shall humble your souls; it is a perpetual ordinance.

⁷ And on the tenth of this month there shall be to you a holy convocation; and you shall afflict your souls, and you shall do no work.

¹⁰ And I bowed down my soul with fasting, and that was made my reproach.

⁴ Comfort one another, you fainthearted; be strong, fear not; behold, our God renders judgment, and He will render it; He will come and save us.

¹⁰ Fear not; for I am with you; wander not; for I am your God, who has strengthened you; and I have helped you, and have established you with My righteous right hand.

¹⁴ Fear not, Jacob, and you Israel few in number; I have helped you, says your God, He that redeems you, O Israel.

⁹ Then shall you cry, and God shall hearken to you; while you are yet speaking He will say, Behold, I am here. If you remove from you the band, and the stretching forth of the hands, and murmuring speech;

²⁴ And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will hearken to them; while they are yet speaking, I will say, What is it?

³ And I set my face toward the Lord God, to seek Him diligently by prayer and supplications, with fasting and sackcloth. ⁴ And I prayed to the Lord my God, and confessed, and said, O Lord, the great and wonderful God, keeping Your covenant and Your mercy to them that love You, and to them that keep Your commandments; we have sinned;

²⁰ And while I was yet speaking, and praying, and confessing my sins and the sins of my people Israel, and bringing my pitiful case before the Lord my God concerning the holy mountain; ²¹ yes, while I was yet speaking in prayer, behold the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, came flying, and he touched me about the hour of the evening sacrifice.

² In those days I, Daniel was mourning three full weeks. ³ I ate no pleasant bread, and no flesh or wine entered into my mouth, neither did I anoint myself with oil, until three whole weeks were accomplished.

¹¹ And he said to me, O Daniel, man greatly beloved, understand the words which I speak to you, and stand upright, for I am now sent to you. And when he had spoken to me this word, I stood trembling.

⁵ But the angel answered and said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified.

¹⁰ Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid. Go, report to My brothers that they should go to Galilee, and there they will see Me."

⁶ But he said to them, "Do not be alarmed. You are seeking Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has arisen! He is not here! See the place where they put Him.

¹³ But the angel said to him, "Do not be afraid, Zacharias, because your prayer has been heard; and your wife Elizabeth will bear a son to you, and you shall call his name John.

³⁰ Then the angel said to her, "Fear not, Mary, for you have found grace with God.

¹⁰ Then the angel said to them, "Fear not, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people.

³⁸ And He said to them, "Why are you troubled? And why do doubts arise in your hearts?

³ About the ninth hour of the day he saw clearly in a vision an angel of God coming to him and saying to him, "Cornelius!" ⁴ And looking intently at him and becoming fearful he said, "What is it, lord?" And he said to him, "Your prayers and your alms have come up for a memorial before God. ⁵ Now send men to Joppa, and send for Simon whose surname is Peter.

³⁰ So Cornelius said, "From the fourth day until this hour I was fasting, and at the ninth hour I was praying in my house, and behold, a man stood before me in shining clothing, ³¹ and said, 'Cornelius, your prayer has been heard, and your alms are remembered before God.

⁹ Now the Lord spoke to Paul by a vision in the night, "Fear not, but speak, and do not keep silent; ¹⁰ for I am with you, and no one will attack you to harm you; for I have many people in this city."

²⁴ saying, 'Do not be afraid, Paul; for it is necessary for you to stand before Caesar; and behold, God has granted you all those sailing with you.'

⁴ And the people of the land weakened the hands of the people of Judah, and hindered them in building, ⁵ and continued hiring people against them, plotting to frustrate their counsel, all the days of Cyrus king of the Persians, and until the reign of Darius king of the Persians. ⁶ And in the reign of Ahasuerus, even in the beginning of his reign, they wrote a letter against the inhabitants of Judah and Jerusalem.

²⁴ Thus the work of the house of God in Jerusalem ceased, and it was at a standstill until the second year of the reign of Darius king of the Persians.

²⁰ And he said, Do you know why I have come to you? And now I will return to fight with the prince of the Persians: and I was going in, and the prince of the Greeks came. ²¹ But I will tell you that which is ordained in the scripture of truth; and there is no one that holds with me in these matters but Michael your prince.

¹ And at that time Michael the great prince shall stand up, that stands over the children of your people, and there shall be a time of tribulation, such tribulation as has not been from the time that there was a nation on the earth until that time. At that time your people shall be delivered, everyone that is written in the book.

¹ And the Lord showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the Angel of the Lord, and the Devil stood on his right hand to resist him. ² And the Lord said to the Devil, ^(3:3) The Lord rebuke you, O Devil, even the Lord that has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you. Behold, is not this as a brand plucked from the fire?

¹² For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual forces of evil in the heavenlies.

¹⁰ and you are completed in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.

¹⁸ Therefore we desired to come to you--I, Paul, time and again--but Satan hindered us.

²² who having gone into heaven, is at the right hand of God, angels and authorities and powers being subjected to Him.

⁹ Yet Michael the archangel, when taking issue with the devil, was arguing about the body of Moses, dared not to bring a railing accusation, but said, "The Lord rebuke you!"

⁷ And there came to be war in heaven: Michael and his angels, waging war with the dragon; and the dragon made war, and his angels,

¹ And Jacob called his sons, and said to them,

³⁰ And all these things shall come upon you in the last days, and you shall turn to the Lord your God, and shall hearken to His voice.

²¹ And this song shall stand up to witness against them; for they shall not forget it out of their mouth, or out of the mouth of their seed; for I know their wickedness, what they are doing here this day, before I have brought them into the good land, which I swore to their fathers.

² For in the last days the mountain of the Lord shall be glorious, and the house of God shall be on the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall come to it.

²⁸ But there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries, and He has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar what things must come to pass in the last days. Your dream, and the visions of your head upon your bed are as follows:

²² And he instructed me, and spoke with me, and said, O Daniel, I have now come forth to impart to you understanding.

¹ In the third year of Cyrus king of the Persians a thing was revealed to Daniel, whose name was called Belteshazzar; and the thing was true, and great power and understanding in the vision was given to him.

⁵ And afterward shall the children of Israel return, and shall seek the Lord their God, and David their king; and shall be amazed at the Lord and at His goodness in the latter days.

¹ And at the last days the mountain of the Lord shall be manifest, established on the tops of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and the peoples shall hasten to it.

³ For the vision is yet for a time, and it shall shoot forth at the end, and not in vain: though he should tarry, wait for him; for he will surely come, and will not tarry.

¹ But know this, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

³ how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which in the beginning was spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him,

²⁷ In that day your mouth shall be opened to him that escapes; you shall speak, and shall be no longer dumb; and you shall be for a sign to them, and they shall know that I am the Lord.

²² Now the hand of the Lord had come upon me in the evening, before he came; and He opened my mouth, when he came to me in the morning. And my mouth was open, it was no longer kept closed.

⁹ Yet I heard the voice of his words; and when I heard him I was cut to the heart, and I fell with my face to the earth.

¹⁰ And Moses said to the Lord, I pray, Lord, I have not been sufficient in former times, neither from the time that You have begun to speak to Your servant: I am weak in speech, and slow-tongued.

¹³ And Moses said, O Lord, I pray, appoint another able person whom You shall send.

¹⁴ And He said to him, I have now come, the Commander of the army of the Lord. And Joshua fell on his face upon the earth, and said to Him, O Lord, what do You command Your servant?

¹³ And Gideon said to him, Be gracious with me, my Lord: but if the Lord is with us, why have these evils found us? And where are all His miracles, which our fathers have related to us, saying, Did not the Lord bring us up out of Egypt? And now He has cast us out, and given us into the hand of Midian.

¹⁵ And Gideon said to him, Be gracious with me, my Lord: how shall I save Israel? Behold, my thousand is weakened in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father's house.

⁸ And Manoah prayed to the Lord and said, I pray to You, O Lord my lord, concerning the Man of God whom You sent; let Him now come to us once more, and teach us what we shall do with the child about to be born.

¹⁸ For in the abundance of wisdom is abundance of knowledge; and he that increases knowledge will increase sorrow.

⁷ and he touched my mouth and said, Behold, this has touched your lips, and will take away your iniquities, and will purge off your sins.

²⁶ that was over their head, there was as the appearance of a sapphire stone, and the likeness of a throne upon it. And upon the likeness of the throne was the likeness as an appearance of a man above.

²⁷ But when I speak to you, I will open your mouth, and you shall say to them, Thus says the Lord: He that hears, let him hear; and he that is disobedient, let him be disobedient; for they are a provoking house.

¹⁵ As for me, Daniel, my spirit in my body trembled, and the visions of my head troubled me.

¹⁵ And it came to pass, as I, Daniel, saw the vision, and sought to understand it, that behold, there stood before me one having the appearance of a man.

¹⁷ And he came and stood near where I stood. And when he came, I was struck with awe, and fell upon my face. But he said to me, Understand, son of man, for the vision is yet for an appointed time.

⁵ And I lifted up my eyes and looked, and behold, a man clothed in linen, and his loins were girt with gold of Ophaz. ⁶ And his body was like beryl, and his face was as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as lamps of fire, and his arms and his legs as the appearance of shining brass, and the voice of his words as the voice of a multitude.

⁸ So I was left alone, and saw this great vision, and there was no strength left in me, and my glory was turned into corruption, and I retained no strength. ⁹ Yet I heard the voice of his words; and when I heard him I was cut to the heart, and I fell with my face to the earth. ¹⁰ And behold, a hand touched me, and it raised me on my knees.

¹⁷ And how shall your servant be able, O my lord, to speak with this my lord? And as for me, from now on strength will not remain in me, and there is no breath left in me. ¹⁸ And there touched me again as it were the appearance of a man, and he strengthened me,

⁸ And I heard, but I understood not. And I said, O Lord, what will be the end of these things?

⁶⁴ Immediately his mouth was opened and his tongue loosed, and he started to speak, praising God.

¹⁵ for I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries will not be able to contradict nor to withstand.

²⁸ And Thomas answered and said to Him, "My Lord and my God!"

⁷ but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming to be in the likeness of men. ⁸ And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself, becoming obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

¹³ and in the midst of the seven lampstands stood One like the Son of Man, having been clothed in a robe reaching to His feet and having been girded across His chest with a golden belt.

²⁰ and you shall say, Behold your servant Jacob comes after us. For he said, I will appease him with the gifts going before his presence, and afterwards I will behold his face, perhaps he will accept me.

¹⁰ And they saw the place where the God of Israel stood; and under His feet was as it were a work of sapphire slabs, and as it were the appearance of the firmament of heaven in its purity. ¹¹ And of the chosen ones of Israel there was not even one missing, and they appeared in the place of God, and did eat and drink.

²⁰ And God said, You shall not be able to see My face; for no man shall see My face and live.

²² And Gideon saw that He was the Angel of the Lord; and Gideon said, Ah, O Lord my God! For I have seen the Angel of the Lord face to face.

²¹ And the Angel appeared no more to Manoah and to his wife. Then Manoah knew that this was the Angel of the Lord. ²² And Manoah said to his wife, We shall surely die, because we have seen God. ²³ But his wife said to him, If the Lord were pleased to slay us, He would not have received of our hand a whole burnt offering and a grain offering; and He would not have shown us all these things, neither would He have caused us to hear all these things as at this time.

¹ And it came to pass in the year in which King Uzziah died, that I saw the Lord sitting on a high and exalted throne, and the house was full of His glory. ² And seraphim stood round about Him; each one had six wings; and with two they covered their face, and with two they covered their feet, and with two they flew. ³ And one cried to the other, and they said, Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory. ⁴ And the doorpost shook at the voice they uttered, and the house was filled with smoke. ⁵ And I said, Woe is me, for I am pricked to the heart; for being a man, and having unclean lips, I dwell in the midst of a people having unclean lips; and I have seen with my eyes the King, the Lord of hosts.

⁴³ He said to them, "How then does David in the Spirit call Him 'Lord,' saying: ⁴⁴ 'The LORD said to my Lord, "Sit at My right hand, till I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet" '?

³⁶ For David himself said by the Holy Spirit: 'The LORD said to my Lord, "Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet." '

¹⁸ No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, He who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.

¹⁵ And David perceived that Saul went forth to seek him. And David was in the dry mountain in the New Ziph.

^{5 (16:6)} And would there were strength in my mouth, and I would not spare the movement of my lips.

⁶ Though He should come on me in His great strength, then He would not threaten me;

³ Be strong, you relaxed hands and feeble knees. ⁴ Comfort one another, you fainthearted; be strong, fear not; behold, our God renders judgment, and He will render it; He will come and save us.

¹⁰ And behold, a hand touched me, and it raised me on my knees.

³² But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers."

⁴³ Then an angel appeared to Him from heaven, strengthening Him.

²³ After having spent some time there, he went out, going through in order the Galatian region and the Phrygian region, strengthening all the disciples.

⁹ And He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is perfected in weakness." Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my weaknesses, in order that the power of Christ may rest upon me. ¹⁰ Therefore I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in calamities, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ's sake. For whenever I am weak, then I am strong.

¹⁶ that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power by His Spirit in the inner man,

¹³ I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

¹¹ being strengthened with all power, according to the might of His glory, for all endurance and longsuffering with joy;

⁶ Be strong and of good courage, for you shall divide the land to this people, which I swore to give to your fathers. ⁷ Be strong, therefore, and very courageous, to observe and do as Moses My servant commanded you; and you shall not turn from there to the right hand or to the left, that you may be wise in whatsoever you may do.

⁹ Behold, I have commanded you; be strong and courageous, be not cowardly nor fearful, for the Lord your God is with you in all places in which you go.

²³ And the Lord said to him, Peace be with you, fear not, you shall not die.

⁹ And he said, Return, child, go to sleep; and it shall come to pass if He shall call you, that you shall say, Speak, for Your servant hears. And Samuel went and lay down in his place. ¹⁰ And the Lord came, and stood, and called him as before. And Samuel said, Speak, for Your servant hears.

³ In whatsoever day I shall call upon You, hear me speedily; You shall abundantly provide me with Your power in my soul.

¹ And now thus says the Lord God that made you, O Jacob, and formed you, O Israel, Fear not; for I have redeemed you, I have called you by your name; you are Mine. ² And if you pass through water, I am with you; and the rivers shall not overflow you; and if you go through the fire, you shall not be burned; the flame shall not burn you.

²³ At the beginning of your supplication the word came forth, and I have come to tell you; for you are a man much beloved: therefore consider the matter, and understand the vision:

¹¹ And he said to me, O Daniel, man greatly beloved, understand the words which I speak to you, and stand upright, for I am now sent to you. And when he had spoken to me this word, I stood trembling. ¹² And he said to me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to afflict yourself before the Lord your God, your words were heard, and I have come because of your words.

^{4 (2:5)} Yet now be strong, O Zerubbabel, says the Lord; and strengthen yourself, O Joshua the high priest, the son of Jehozadak; and let all the people of the land strengthen themselves, says the Lord, and work, for I am with you, say the Lord Almighty;

⁹ Thus says the Lord Almighty; Let your hands be strong, you that hear in these days these words out of the mouth of the prophets, from the day that the house of the Lord Almighty was founded, and from the time that the temple was built.

¹³ And it shall come to pass, as you were a curse among the nations, O house of Judah, and house of Israel; so will I save you, and you shall be a blessing: be of good courage, and strengthen your hands.

³⁶ Now as they said these things, Jesus Himself stood in the midst of them, and said to them, "Peace to you." ³⁷ But being alarmed and becoming fearful, they thought they saw a spirit. ³⁸ And He said to them, "Why are you troubled? And why do doubts arise in your hearts?

³ Therefore the sisters sent to Him, saying, "Lord, behold, he whom You love is sick."

⁵ Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus.

³⁶ Then the Jews said, "Look how He loved him!"

²⁷ Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

⁹ "Just as the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love. ¹⁰ If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father's commandments and I abide in His love. ¹¹ These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may abide in you, and that your joy may be full. ¹² This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. ¹³ Greater love has no one than this, that one should lay down his life on behalf of his friends. ¹⁴ You are My friends if you do what I command you.

³³ These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation; but have courage, I have overcome the world."

²⁶ Therefore Jesus, seeing His mother, and the disciple whom He loved standing by, He said to His mother, "Woman, behold your son!"

¹³ Watch, stand fast in the faith, be courageous, be strong.

⁹ And He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is perfected in weakness." Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my weaknesses, in order that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

¹⁰ Finally, my brothers, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.

¹ You therefore, my child, be empowered by the grace which is in Christ Jesus.

³⁶ And the angel of the Lord went forth, and killed out of the camp of the Assyrians a hundred and eighty-five thousand; and they arose in the morning and found all these bodies dead.

⁶ After this one I looked, and behold, another wild beast as a leopard, and it had four wings of a bird upon it. And the wild beast had four heads, and power was given to it.

⁵ And as I was considering the ram, behold, a male goat came from the southwest on the face of the whole earth, and touched not the earth: and the goat had a horn between his eyes. ⁶ And he came to the ram that had the two horns, which I had seen standing in front of the Ulai, and he ran at him with the violence of his strength. ⁷ And I saw him coming up close to the ram, and he was exceedingly enraged against him, and he attacked the ram, and broke both his horns: and there was no strength in the ram to withstand him, but he cast him on the ground, and trampled on him; and there was none that could deliver the ram out of his hand. ⁸ And the male goat grew exceedingly great. And when he was strong, his great horn was broken; and four other horns rose up in its place toward the four winds of heaven.

²¹ The male goat is the king of the Greeks: and the great horn which was between his eyes, he is the first king.

¹³ But the prince of the kingdom of the Persians withstood me twenty-one days; and behold, Michael, one of the princes, came to help me; and I left him there with the prince of the kingdom of the Persians.

² And now I will tell you the truth. Behold, there shall yet rise up three kings in Persia: and the fourth shall be far more richer than all. And after that he is master of his wealth, he shall rise up against all the kingdoms of the Greeks. ³ And there shall rise up a mighty king, and he shall be lord of a great empire, and shall do according to his will. ⁴ And when his kingdom shall stand up, it shall be broken, and shall be divided to the four winds of heaven; but not to his posterity, nor according to his dominion which he ruled over; for his kingdom shall be plucked up, and given to others beside these.

²³ Then immediately an angel of the Lord struck him, because he did not give glory to God. And becoming eaten by worms, he died.

²² Let them draw near, and declare to you what things shall come to pass; or tell us what things were of old, and we will apply our understanding, and we shall know what are the last and the future things; ²³ tell us, declare to us the things that are coming on at the last time, and we shall know that you are gods; do good, and do evil, and we shall wonder, and see at the same time

⁸ and I have brought forth the blind people; for their eyes are alike blind, and those that have ears are deaf. ⁹ All the nations are gathered together, and princes shall be gathered out of them; who will declare these things? Or who will declare to you things from the beginning? Let them bring forth their witnesses, and be justified; and let them hear, and declare the truth.

²⁵ And you shall know and understand, that from the going forth of the command for the answer and for the building of Jerusalem, until Christ the Prince, there shall be seven weeks, and sixty-two weeks; and then the time shall return, and the street shall be built, and the wall, and the times shall be exhausted.

And after that he is master of his wealth, he shall rise up against all the kingdoms of the Greeks. ³ And there shall rise up a mighty king, and he shall be lord of a great empire, and shall do according to his will. ⁴ And when his kingdom shall stand up, it shall be broken, and shall be divided to the four winds of heaven; but not to his posterity, nor according to his dominion which he ruled over; for his kingdom shall be plucked up, and given to others beside these. ⁵ And the king of the south shall be strong; and one of their princes shall prevail against him, and shall obtain a great dominion. ⁶ And after his years they shall associate; and the daughter of the king of the south shall come to the king of the north, to make agreements with him, but she shall not retain power of arm; neither shall his seed stand: and she shall be delivered up, and they that brought her, and the maiden, and he that strengthened her in these times. ⁷ But out of the flower of her root there shall arise one in his place, and shall come against the host, and shall enter into the strongholds of the king of the north, and shall fight against them, and prevail. ⁸ Yea, he shall carry with a body of captives into Egypt their gods with their molten images, and all their precious vessels of silver and gold; and he shall last longer than the king of the north. ⁹ And he shall enter into the kingdom of the king of the south, and shall return to his own land. ¹⁰ And his sons shall gather a multitude among many. And one shall certainly come, and overflow, and pass through, and he shall rest, and collect his strength. ¹¹ And the king of the south shall be greatly enraged, and shall come forth, and shall war with the king of the north, and he shall raise a great multitude; but the multitude shall be delivered into his hand. ¹² And he shall take the multitude, and his heart shall be exalted; and he shall cast down many thousands; but he shall not prevail.

⁷ For the Lord God will do nothing without revealing instruction to His servants the prophets.

¹⁵ And with this the words of the prophets agree, just as it is written:

¹⁸ "Known from everlasting to God are all His works.
