¹ King Nebuchadnezzar, to all nations, tribes, and tongues that dwell in all the earth: Peace be multiplied to you. ² It seemed good to me to declare to you the signs and wonders which the Most High God has worked for me, ³ how great and mighty they are; His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and His power to all generations. ⁴ I, Nebuchadnezzar, was thriving in my house, and prospering. ⁵ I saw a vision and it terrified me, and I was troubled on my bed, and the visions of my head troubled me. ⁶ And I made a decree to bring in before me all the wise men of Babylon, that they might make known to me the interpretation of the dream. ⁷ So the enchanters, magicians, soothsayers, and Chaldeans came in, and I told the dream before them; but they did not make known to me its interpretation; ⁸ until Daniel came, whose name is Belteshazzar, according to the name of my god, who has within him the Holy Spirit of God, to whom I said, ⁹ O Belteshazzar, chief of the enchanters, of whom I know that the Holy Spirit of God is in you, and no mystery is too hard for you, hear the vision of my dream which I had, and tell me the interpretation of it. ¹⁰ I had a vision upon my bed; and behold a tree in the midst of the earth, and its height was great. ¹¹ The tree grew large and strong, and its height reached to the sky, and its extent to the extremity of the whole earth; ¹² its leaves were fair, and its fruit abundant, and in it was food for all; and under it the wild beasts of the field took shelter, and the birds of the sky lodged in the branches of it, and all flesh was fed by it. ¹³ I beheld in the night vision upon my bed, and behold, a watcher and a holy one came down from heaven and cried aloud, and thus he said, ¹⁴ Cut down the tree, and pluck off its branches, and shake off its leaves, and scatter its fruit — let the wild beasts be removed from under it, and the birds from its branches. ¹⁵ Only leave the stump of its roots in the earth, and bind it with an iron and brass band; and it shall lie in the outer grass, and in the dew of heaven, and its portion shall be with the wild beasts in the grass of the field. ¹⁶ His heart shall be changed from that of a man, and the heart of a wild beast shall be given to him; and seven times shall pass over him. ¹⁷ The matter is by the decree of the watcher, and the demand is a word of the holy ones; that the living may known that the Lord is Most High over the kingdom of men, and He will give it to whomever He will, and sets it over the lowest of men. ¹⁸ This is the vision which I, King Nebuchadnezzar saw. Now you, Belteshazzar, declare the interpretation, for none of the wise men of my kingdom are able to show me its interpretation — but you, Daniel, are able, for the Holy Spirit of God is in you. ¹⁹ Then Daniel, whose name is Belteshazzar, was amazed about one hour, and his thoughts troubled him. And Belteshazzar answered and said, My lord, let the dream concern those that hate you, and the interpretation of it to your enemies. ²⁰ The tree which you saw, which grew large and strong, whose height reached to the heavens, and its extent to all parts of the earth, ²¹ and whose leaves were flourishing, and its fruit abundant, (and it was food for all; under it the wild beasts lodged, and the birds of the sky took shelter in its branches) ²² is you, O king; for you have grown great and powerful, and your greatness has increased and reached to the heavens, and your dominion to the ends of the earth. ²³ And whereas the king saw a watcher and a holy one coming down from heaven, and he said, Strip the tree, and destroy it; only leave the stump of its roots in the ground, and bind it with a band of iron and brass; and it shall lie in the outer grass, and in the dew of heaven, and its portion shall be with wild beasts, until seven times have passed over it. ²⁴ This is the interpretation of it, O king, and it is a decree of the Most High, which has come upon my lord the king: ²⁵ and they shall drive you forth from men, and your dwelling shall be with the wild beasts, and they shall feed you with grass like an ox, and you shall have your lodging under the dew of heaven, and seven times shall pass over you, until you know that the Most High is Lord of the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever He chooses. ²⁶ And whereas they said, Leave the stumps of the roots of the tree; your kingdom shall be assured to you, from the time that you realize the power of the heavens. ²⁷ Therefore, O king, let my counsel please you, and atone for your sins by alms, and your iniquities by compassion on the poor; perhaps God will be longsuffering toward your trespasses. ²⁸ All these things came upon King Nebuchadnezzar. ²⁹ After the twelfth month, as he walked in his palace in Babylon, ³⁰ the king answered and said, Is not this great Babylon, which I have built for a royal residence, by the might of my power, for the honor of my glory? ³¹ While the word was yet in the king's mouth, there came a voice from heaven, saying, King Nebuchadnezzar, to you it is spoken, The kingdom has departed from you. ³² And they shall drive you from men, and your dwelling shall be with the wild beasts of the field, and they shall feed you with grass like an ox. And seven times shall pass over you, until you know that the Most High is Lord of the kingdom of men, and He shall give it to whomever He chooses. ³³ In the same hour the word was fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar. And he was driven forth from men, and he ate grass like an ox, and his body was bathed with the dew of heaven, until his hair had grown like the hair of a lion, and his nails as birds' claws. ³⁴ And at the end of the time, I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted up my eyes to heaven, and my reason returned to me, and I blessed the Most High, and praised Him that lives forever, and gave Him glory; for His dominion is an everlasting dominion, and His kingdom lasts to all generations. ³⁵ All the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing; and He does according to His will in the host of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and there is none who shall withstand His power, and say to Him, What have You done? ³⁶ At the same time my reason returned to me, and I came to the honor of my kingdom; and my natural form returned to me, and my princes and my nobles sought me, and I was established in my kingdom, and more abundant majesty was added to me. ³⁷ Now therefore, I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and greatly exalt and glorify the King of heaven; for all His works are true, and His paths are judgment: and all that walk in pride He is able to abase.

¹⁸ And the Spirit came upon Amasai, a captain of the thirty, and he said, Go, David, son of Jesse, you and your people. Peace, peace be to you, and peace to your helpers, for your God has helped you. And David received them, and made them captains of the forces.

¹⁷ Then the king sent to Rehum the chancellor, and Shimshai the scribe, and the rest of their fellow servants who dwelt in Samaria, and the rest beyond the river, saying, Peace; and he said,

⁷ They sent an account to him, and thus it was written in it: All peace to King Darius.

¹² So the king's recorders were called in the first month, on the thirteenth day, and they wrote as Haman commanded to the captains and governors in every province, from India even to Ethiopia, to a hundred and twenty-seven provinces, and to the rulers of the nations according to their many languages, in the name of King Artaxerxes.

⁹ So the scribes were called in the first month, which is Nisan, on the twenty-third day of the same year. And orders were written concerning the Jews, whatever the king had commanded to the local governors and chiefs of the satraps, from India even to Ethiopia, a hundred and twenty-seven satraps, according to the several provinces, according to their dialects.

⁴ Then a herald cried aloud, To you it is commanded, you peoples, tribes, and languages,

²⁹ Therefore I publish a decree: Every people, tribe, or language that shall speak reproachfully against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego shall be destroyed, and their houses shall be plundered, because there is no other God who shall be able to deliver thus.

²⁵ Then King Darius wrote to all nations, tribes, and languages, who dwell in all the earth, saying, Peace be multiplied to you.

²⁷ He helps and delivers, and works signs and wonders in the heaven and on the earth, who has rescued Daniel from the power of the lions.

¹⁴ And to Him was given the dominion, and the honor, and the kingdom; and all nations, tribes, and languages, shall serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and His kingdom shall not be destroyed.

²³ Thus says the Lord Almighty; In those days My word shall be fulfilled if ten men of all the languages of the nations should take hold — even take hold of the hem of a Jew, saying, We will go with you; for we have heard that God is with you.

⁶ And when this sound occurred, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because they were hearing each one speaking in his own language.

⁷ To all those who are in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

¹⁹ And Joshua said to Achan, Give glory this day to the Lord God of Israel, and make confession; and tell me what you have done, and do not hide it from me.

¹⁴ Deliver me from blood-guiltiness, O God, the God of my salvation; and my tongue shall joyfully declare Your righteousness.

¹⁶ Come and hear, and I will tell, all You that fear God, how great things He has done for my soul.

¹⁸ even until I am old and advanced in years. O God, forsake me not; until I have declared Your mighty arm to all the generation that is to come;

¹ A Psalm of a Song for the Sabbath day. It is a good thing to give thanks to the Lord, and to sing praises to Your name, O Most High; ² to proclaim Your mercy in the morning, and Your truth by night,

²⁶ Then Nebuchadnezzar drew near to the door of the burning fiery furnace, and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, you servants of the Most High God, proceed forth, and come here. So Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, came forth out of the midst of the fire.

³ "I am indeed a Jew, having been born in Tarsus of Cilicia, but having been brought up in this city at the feet of Gamaliel, having been educated according to the exactness of the law of our forefathers, being zealous for God just as you all are today. ⁴ I, who persecuted this Way to death, binding and handing over to prisons both men and women, ⁵ as also the high priest testifies of me, along with the council of the elders, from whom I also received letters to the brothers, and went to Damascus in order to bring those who were there, having been bound, to Jerusalem, that they might be punished. ⁶ Now it happened, as I was going and approaching Damascus, about midday, suddenly from heaven a great light shone about me. ⁷ And I fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to me, 'Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?' ⁸ "So I answered, 'Who are You, Lord?' And He said to me, 'I am Jesus the Nazarene, whom you are persecuting.' ⁹ "And those who were with me observed the light and became terrified, but they did not hear the voice of the One speaking to me. ¹⁰ So I said, 'What shall I do, Lord?' And the Lord said to me, 'Arise and go into Damascus, and it will be told to you about all the things which it has been appointed for you to do.' ¹¹ "And since I could not see because of the brightness of that light, being led by the hand by those who were with me, I came into Damascus. ¹² And Ananias, a certain devout man according to the law, being testified of by all the Jews dwelling in Damascus, ¹³ came to me and he stood and said to me, 'Brother Saul, see again.' And I, in that very hour, looked up at him. ¹⁴ And he said, 'The God of our fathers has chosen you to know His will, and to see the Righteous One, and hear the voice from His mouth. ¹⁵ For you shall be a witness for Him to all men of what you have seen and heard. ¹⁶ And now, what are you going to do? Arise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord.'

⁹ Therefore I thought in myself that it was necessary to do many hostile things against the name of Jesus the Nazarene; ¹⁰ which also I did in Jerusalem, and many of the saints I shut up in prisons, having received authority from the chief priests; and when they were being put to death, I cast my vote against them. ¹¹ And I punished them often in all the synagogues, and compelled them to blaspheme; and being exceedingly enraged against them, I persecuted them even as far as to foreign cities. ¹² "In which pursuits also, as I traveled to Damascus with authority and commission from the chief priests, ¹³ at midday, O king, along the road I saw a light from heaven, brighter than the sun, shining around me and those traveling with me. ¹⁴ And when we all had fallen down to the ground, I heard a voice speaking to me and saying in the Hebrew language, 'Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads.' ¹⁵ "So I said, 'Who are You, Lord?' And He said, 'I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. ¹⁶ But arise and stand on your feet; for I have appeared to you, to appoint you a minister and a witness both of the things which you have seen, and of the things which I will yet reveal to you,

³⁴ Or did God ever try to go and take for Himself a nation out of the midst of another nation by trials, by signs, by wonders, by war, by a mighty hand and an outstretched arm, and by great sights, according to all the things which the Lord our God did in Egypt in your sight?

² What beginning or fear is His — even He that makes all things in the highest?

⁷ who by His power is Lord over the ages, His eyes look upon the nations; let not them that provoke Him be exalted in themselves. Pause.

¹⁹ even Your power and Your righteousness, O God, up to the highest heavens, even the mighty works which You have done; O God, who is like You? ²⁰ What many and great afflictions have You shown me! Yet You turned and revived me, and brought me again from the depths of the earth.

¹⁸ Blessed is the Lord God of Israel, who alone does wonders.

¹⁹ Your way is in the sea, and Your paths in many waters, and Your footsteps cannot be known.

¹⁰ For You are great, and do wondrous things; You alone are the great God.

⁵ How have Your works been magnified, O Lord! Your thoughts are very deep.

²⁴ How great are Your works, O Lord! In wisdom have You done them all; the earth is filled with Your creation.

²⁷ He established among them His signs, and His wonders in the land of Ham.

¹³ Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and Your dominion endures throughout all generations. The Lord is faithful in His words, and holy in all His works.

⁷ His government shall be great, and of His peace there is no end; it shall be upon the throne of David, and upon His kingdom, to establish it, and to support it with judgment and with righteousness, from this time forward and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts shall perform this.

¹ O Lord God, I will glorify You, I will sing to Your name; for You have done wonderful things, even an ancient and faithful counsel. Amen.

²⁹ And these signs came forth from the Lord of hosts. Take counsel, exalt vain comfort.

¹⁰ They must certainly be borne, for they cannot ride of themselves. Fear them not, for they cannot do any evil, and there is no good in them.

⁴⁴ And in the days of those kings the God of heaven shall set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed; and His kingdom shall not be left to another people, but it shall beat to pieces and grind to powder all other kingdoms, and it shall stand forever.

¹⁷ The matter is by the decree of the watcher, and the demand is a word of the holy ones; that the living may known that the Lord is Most High over the kingdom of men, and He will give it to whomever He will, and sets it over the lowest of men.

³⁴ And at the end of the time, I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted up my eyes to heaven, and my reason returned to me, and I blessed the Most High, and praised Him that lives forever, and gave Him glory; for His dominion is an everlasting dominion, and His kingdom lasts to all generations. ³⁵ All the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing; and He does according to His will in the host of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and there is none who shall withstand His power, and say to Him, What have You done?

²⁶ This decree has been set forth by me in every dominion of my kingdom, that men must tremble and fear before the God of Daniel; for He is the living and eternal God, and His kingdom shall not be destroyed, and His dominion is forever. ²⁷ He helps and delivers, and works signs and wonders in the heaven and on the earth, who has rescued Daniel from the power of the lions.

²⁷ And the kingdom and the power and the greatness of the kings that are under the whole heaven were given to the saints of the Most High; and His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all powers shall serve and obey Him.

³² He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God shall give Him the throne of His father David. ³³ And He shall reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there shall be no end."

³³ Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and untraceable are His ways!

¹⁷ Now to the King of the Ages, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.

⁸ But to the Son He says: "Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; a scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your Kingdom.

⁴ God also bearing witness both with signs and wonders, with various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will?

¹¹ If anyone speaks, let him speak as the utterances of God. If anyone serves, let him serve as from strength, as God supplies, so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom is the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen.

¹⁵ Then the seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were great voices in heaven, saying, "The kingdom of this world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!"

⁶ And I said in my prosperity, I shall never be moved. ⁷ O Lord, in Your good pleasure You added strength to my beauty; but You turned away Your face, and I was troubled.

⁷ and said, I shall be a princess forever; you did not perceive these things in your heart, nor did you remember the latter end. ⁸ But now hear these words, you luxurious one, that sits at ease, that is secure, that says in her heart, I am, and there is not another; I shall not sit as a widow, neither shall I know bereavement.

¹¹ Moab has been at ease from a child, and trusted in his glory; he has not poured out his liquor from vessel to vessel, and has not gone into banishment, therefore his taste remained in him, and his smell departed not.

² And you, son of man, say to the prince of Tyre, Thus says the Lord: Because your heart has been exalted, and you have said, I am God, I have inhabited the dwelling of God in the heart of the sea; yet you are a man and not God, though you have set your heart as the heart of God. ³ Are you wiser than Daniel? Or have not the wise instructed you with their knowledge? ⁴ Have you gained power for yourself by your own knowledge or your own prudence, and gathered gold and silver in your treasures? ⁵ By your abundant knowledge and your traffic you have multiplied your power; your heart has been lifted up by your power.

¹⁷ Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty; your knowledge has been corrupted by your beauty: because of the multitude of your sins I have cast you to the ground, I have caused you to be put to open shame before kings.

³ and say, Thus says the Lord: Behold, I am against you O Pharaoh, the great dragon that lies in the midst of his rivers, that says, The rivers are mine, and I made them.

¹² And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will search Jerusalem with a lamp, and I will take vengeance on the men that despise the things committed to them; but they say in their hearts, The Lord will not do any good, neither will He do any evil.

¹⁹ And I will say to my soul, "Soul, you have many goods laid away for many years; relax; eat, drink, and be merry." ' ²⁰ But God said to him, 'You fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have prepared?'

² For you yourselves know accurately that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. ³ For when they say, "Peace and safety!" then sudden destruction comes upon them, just as labor pains upon the woman that is pregnant, and they shall by no means escape.

¹ And it came to pass after two full years that Pharaoh had a dream. He thought he stood upon the bank of the river.

¹³ I said that my bed should comfort me, and I would privately counsel with myself on my couch. ¹⁴ You scare me with dreams, and terrify me with visions.

¹ In the second year of his reign Nebuchadnezzar dreamed a dream, and his spirit was amazed, and his sleep departed from him.

²⁸ But there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries, and He has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar what things must come to pass in the last days. Your dream, and the visions of your head upon your bed are as follows: ²⁹ O king: your thoughts upon your bed arose as to what must come to pass hereafter: and He that reveals mysteries has made known to you what must come to pass.

⁵ In the same hour came forth fingers of a man's hand, and wrote in front of the lamp on the plaster of the wall of the king's house: and the king saw the knuckles of the hand that wrote. ⁶ Then the king's countenance changed, and his thoughts troubled him, and the joints of his hips were loosed, and his knees knocked one another.

¹⁰ Then the queen came into the banquet house, and said, O king, live forever. Let not your thoughts trouble you, and let not your countenance be changed.

²⁸ This is the end of the matter. As for me, Daniel, my thoughts greatly troubled me, and my countenance was changed: but I kept the matter in my heart.

⁷ And the seven thin heads blasted with the wind devoured the seven choice and full heads. And Pharaoh awoke, and indeed, it was a dream. ⁸ And it was morning, and his soul was troubled. And he sent and called all the interpreters of Egypt, and all the wise men; and Pharaoh related to them his dream, and there was no one to interpret it to Pharaoh.

¹⁹ And if they should say to you, Seek those who have in them a divining spirit, and them that speak out of the earth, them that speak vain words, who speak out of their belly; shall not a nation diligently seek their God? Why do they look to the dead concerning the living?

¹² Stand now with your enchantments, and with the abundance of your sorcery, which you have learned from your youth; if you can be profited. ¹³ You are wearied in your counsels. Let now the astrologers of the heaven stand and deliver you, let them that see the stars tell you what is about to come upon you. ¹⁴ Behold, they all shall be burned up as sticks in the fire; neither shall they at all deliver their life from the flame. Because you have coals of fire, sit upon them;

⁸ And it was morning, and his soul was troubled. And he sent and called all the interpreters of Egypt, and all the wise men; and Pharaoh related to them his dream, and there was no one to interpret it to Pharaoh.

²⁵ Who else will frustrate the tokens of those that have divining spirits, and prophecies from the heart of man? Turning the wise back, and making their counsel foolishness;

⁹ And do not listen to your false prophets, nor to them that divine to you, nor to them that foretell events by dreams to you, nor to your soothsayers, nor your sorcerers, that say, You shall by no means work for the king of Babylon: ¹⁰ for they prophesy lies to you, to remove you far from your land.

¹ In the second year of his reign Nebuchadnezzar dreamed a dream, and his spirit was amazed, and his sleep departed from him. ² And the king gave orders to call the enchanters, and the magicians, and the sorcerers, and the Chaldeans, to declare to the king his dreams. And they came and stood before the king.

⁷ They answered the second time, and said, Let the king tell the dream to his servants, and we will declare the interpretation.

¹⁰ The Chaldeans answered before the king, and said, There is no man upon the earth, who shall be able to make known the king's matter: forasmuch as no great king or ruler asks such a question of an enchanter, magician, or Chaldean.

²⁷ And Daniel answered before the king, and said, The mystery of which the king asks is not in the power of the wise men, magicians, enchanters, or soothsayers to declare to the king.

⁸ And in just the way Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, thus also these resist the truth: men corrupted in mind, disapproved regarding the faith. ⁹ But they shall not advance further, for their folly shall be manifest to all, as also theirs became.

¹⁷ And I will go down, and speak there with you; and I will take of the spirit that is upon you, and will put it upon them; and they shall bear together with you the burden of the people, and you shall not bear them alone. ¹⁸ And to the people you shall say, Consecrate yourselves for tomorrow, and you shall eat meat; for you wept before the Lord, saying, Who shall give us meat to eat? For it was well with us in Egypt: and the Lord shall allow you to eat meat, and you shall eat meat. ¹⁹ You shall not eat one day, nor two, nor five days, nor ten days, nor twenty days; ²⁰ you shall eat for a full month, until the meat comes out of your nostrils; and it shall be loathsome unto you, because you disobeyed the Lord, who is among you, and wept before Him, saying, What had we to do to come out of Egypt? ²¹ And Moses said, The people whom I am among are six hundred thousand footmen; and You said, I will give them meat to eat, and they shall eat a whole month. ²² Shall sheep and oxen be slain for them, and shall it suffice them? Or shall all the fish of the sea be gathered together for them, and shall it suffice them? ²³ And the Lord said to Moses, Shall not the hand of the Lord be fully sufficient? Now shall you know whether My word shall come to pass to you or not. ²⁴ And Moses went out, and spoke the words of the Lord to the people. And he gathered seventy men of the elders of the people, and he set them round about the tabernacle. ²⁵ And the Lord came down in a cloud, and spoke to him, and took of the spirit that was upon him, and put it upon the seventy men that were elders; and when the spirit rested upon them, they prophesied and ceased. ²⁶ And there were two men left in the camp, the name of the one was Eldad, and the name of the other Medad; and the spirit rested upon them, and these were of the number of them that were enrolled, but they did not come to the tabernacle; and they prophesied in the camp. ²⁷ And a young man ran and told Moses, and spoke, saying, Eldad and Modad are prophesying in the camp. ²⁸ And Joshua the son of Nun, who attended on Moses, the chosen one, said, My lord Moses, forbid them. ²⁹ And Moses said to him, Are you jealous on my account? And would that all the Lord's people were prophets; whenever the Lord shall put His spirit upon them. ³⁰ And Moses departed into the camp, himself and the elders of Israel.

¹ Bel has fallen, Nebo is broken to pieces, their graven images have gone to the wild beasts and the cattle; you take them packed up as a burden to the weary, exhausted, hungry, and at the same time helpless man;

¹¹ Then he remembered the days of old, saying, Where is He that brought up from the sea the shepherd of the sheep? Where is He that put His Holy Spirit in them?

² Proclaim among the Gentiles, and cause the tidings to be heard, and suppress them not. Say, Babylon is taken, Bel is confounded; the fearless, the luxurious Merodach is delivered up.

⁷ And the chief of the eunuchs gave them names: to Daniel, Belteshazzar; and to Hananiah, Shadrach; and to Mishael, Meshach; and to Azariah, Abed-Nego.

¹¹ For the question which the king asks is difficult, and there is no one else who shall answer it before the king, but the gods, whose dwelling is not with any flesh.

⁹ O Belteshazzar, chief of the enchanters, of whom I know that the Holy Spirit of God is in you, and no mystery is too hard for you, hear the vision of my dream which I had, and tell me the interpretation of it.

¹⁸ This is the vision which I, King Nebuchadnezzar saw. Now you, Belteshazzar, declare the interpretation, for none of the wise men of my kingdom are able to show me its interpretation — but you, Daniel, are able, for the Holy Spirit of God is in you.

¹¹ There is a man in your kingdom, in whom is the Spirit of God; and in the days of your father watchfulness and understanding were found in him; and King Nebuchadnezzar your father made him chief of the enchanters, magicians, Chaldeans, and soothsayers. ¹² For there is an excellent spirit in him, and sense and understanding is in him, interpreting dreams as he does, and answering hard questions, and solving riddles. It is Daniel, and the king gave him the name of Belteshazzar. Now then let him be called, and he shall tell you the interpretation of the writing.

¹⁴ I have heard about you, that the Spirit of God is in you, and that watchfulness and understanding and excellent wisdom have been found in you.

⁶ And the Lord said, Behold, there is one race, and one language of all, and they have begun to do this, and now nothing shall fail from them of all that they have undertaken to do. ⁷ Come, let Us go down and confound their language, that they may not understand each the voice of his neighbor. ⁸ And the Lord scattered them from there over the face of all the earth, and they left off building the city and the tower.

⁹ And the chief cupbearer related his dream to Joseph, and said, In my dream a vine was before me. ¹⁰ And in the vine were three stems; and its budding shot forth blossoms; the clusters of grapes were ripe. ¹¹ And the cup of Pharaoh was in my hand; and I took the bunch of grapes, and squeezed it into the cup, and gave the cup into Pharaoh's hand. ¹² And Joseph said to him, This is the interpretation of it. The three stems are three days. ¹³ Yet three days and Pharaoh shall remember your position, and he shall restore you to your place of chief cupbearer, and you shall give Pharaoh's cup into his hand, according to your former high place, as you were his cupbearer. ¹⁴ But remember me when it is well with you, and you shall deal mercifully with me, and you shall make mention of me to Pharaoh, and you shall bring me forth out of this dungeon. ¹⁵ For surely I was stolen away out of the land of the Hebrews, and here I have done nothing, but they have cast me into this pit. ¹⁶ And the chief baker saw that he interpreted correctly; and he said to Joseph, I also saw a dream, and in it I took up on my head three baskets of bread. ¹⁷ And in the upper basket there was the work of the baker of every kind of bread which Pharaoh eats; and the birds of the air ate them out of the basket that was on my head. ¹⁸ And Joseph answered and said to him, This is the interpretation of it; The three baskets are three days. ¹⁹ Yet three days, and Pharaoh shall lift up your head from off you, and shall hang you from a tree, and the birds of the sky shall eat your flesh from off of you.

¹⁵ And Pharaoh said to Joseph, I have seen a vision, and there is no one to interpret it; but I have heard it said concerning you that you can hear dreams and interpret them. ¹⁶ And Joseph answered Pharaoh and said, Without God an answer of safety shall not be given to Pharaoh. ¹⁷ And Pharaoh spoke to Joseph, saying, In my dream, I stood by the bank of the river. ¹⁸ Suddenly seven cows came up out of the river, well-favored and choice-fleshed, and they fed in the meadow. ¹⁹ And behold, seven other cows came up after them out of the river, evil and ill-favored and lean-fleshed, such that I never saw worse in all the land of Egypt. ²⁰ And the seven ill-favored and thin cows ate up the seven first good and choice cows. ²¹ And they went into their bellies; and it was not perceptible that they had gone into their bellies, and their appearance was ill-favored, as also at the beginning. And after I awoke, I slept, ²² and I saw again in my sleep, and seven heads came up on one stem, full and good. ²³ Then behold, seven heads, thin and blasted with the wind, sprang up close to them. ²⁴ And the seven thin and blasted heads devoured the seven fine and full heads: so I spoke to the interpreters, and there was no one to explain it to me. ²⁵ And Joseph said to Pharaoh, The dream of Pharaoh is one; God has shown Pharaoh what He is about to do. ²⁶ The seven good cows are seven years, and the seven good heads are seven years; the dream of Pharaoh is one. ²⁷ And the seven thin cows that came up after them are seven years; and the seven thin and blasted heads are seven years; there shall be seven years of famine. ²⁸ And as for the word which I have told Pharaoh, God has shown Pharaoh what He is about to do. ²⁹ Behold, for seven years there is coming great plenty in all the land of Egypt. ³⁰ But there shall come seven years of famine after these, and they shall forget the plenty that shall be in all Egypt, and the famine shall consume the land. ³¹ And the plenty shall not be known in the land by reason of the famine that shall be after this, for it shall be very grievous. ³² And concerning the repetition of the dream to Pharaoh twice, it is because the saying which is from God shall be true, and God will hasten to accomplish it. ³³ Now then, select a wise and prudent man, and set him over the land of Egypt. ³⁴ And let Pharaoh make and appoint local governors over the land; and let them take up a fifth part of all the produce of the land of Egypt for the seven years of the plenty. ³⁵ And let them gather all the food of these seven good years that are coming, and let the grain be gathered under the hand of Pharaoh; let food be kept in the cities. ³⁶ And the stored food shall be for the land against the seven years of famine, which shall be in the land of Egypt; and the land shall not be utterly destroyed by the famine.

³⁸ And Pharaoh said to all his servants, Shall we find such a man as this, who has the Spirit of God in him?

¹³ And Gideon came, and behold, a man was relating a dream to his neighbor, and he said, Behold, I have dreamed a dream, and behold, a cake of barley bread rolling into the camp of Midian, and it came as far as a tent, and struck it, and it fell, and it turned it up, and the tent fell. ¹⁴ And his neighbor answered and said, This is none other than the sword of Gideon, son of Joash a man of Israel: God has delivered Midian and all the host into his hand. ¹⁵ And it came to pass when Gideon heard the account of the dream and the interpretation of it, that he worshipped the Lord, and returned to the camp of Israel, and said, Rise, for the Lord has delivered the camp of Midian into our hand.

⁸ Woe to us, O Lord, deliver us today, for such a thing has not happened before. Woe to us; who shall deliver us out of the hand of these mighty gods? These are the gods that struck Egypt with every plague, and in the wilderness.

¹⁸ Your soul shall meditate terror. Where are the scribes? Where are the counselors? Where is he that numbers them that are growing up,

¹⁴ And you shall be built in righteousness; abstain from injustice, and you shall not fear; and trembling shall not come near to you.

³ Are you wiser than Daniel? Or have not the wise instructed you with their knowledge?

²⁰ And in every matter of wisdom and knowledge wherein the king questioned them, he found them ten times wiser than all the enchanters and sorcerers that were in all his kingdom.

³ And the king said to them, I have dreamed, and my spirit is troubled to know the dream. ⁴ And the Chaldeans spoke to the king in the Syrian language, saying, O king, live forever: tell the dream to your servants, and we will declare the interpretation. ⁵ The king answered the Chaldeans, The thing has departed from me: if you do not make known to me the dream and the interpretation, you shall be destroyed, and your houses shall be spoiled.

⁴⁸ And the king promoted Daniel, and gave him great and abundant gifts, and set him over the whole province of Babylon, and made him chief satrap over all the wise men of Babylon.

⁵ I saw a vision and it terrified me, and I was troubled on my bed, and the visions of my head troubled me.

⁸ until Daniel came, whose name is Belteshazzar, according to the name of my god, who has within him the Holy Spirit of God, to whom I said,

¹¹ There is a man in your kingdom, in whom is the Spirit of God; and in the days of your father watchfulness and understanding were found in him; and King Nebuchadnezzar your father made him chief of the enchanters, magicians, Chaldeans, and soothsayers.

³⁵ I saw the ungodly very highly exalting himself, and lifting himself up like the cedars of Lebanon. ³⁶ Yet I passed by, and lo! He was not; and I sought him, but his place was not found.

³³ Behold, the Lord, the Lord of hosts, will mightily confound the glorious ones; and the haughty in pride shall be crushed, and the lofty shall be brought low; ³⁴ and the lofty ones shall fall by the sword, and Lebanon shall fall with his lofty ones.

² You have planted them, and they have taken root; they have begotten children, and become fruitful; You are near to their mouth, but far from their mind.

³ Behold, the Assyrian was a cypress in Lebanon, and was fair in shoots, and high in stature; his top reached to the midst of the clouds. ⁴ The water nourished him, the depth made him grow tall; she led her rivers round about his plants, and she sent forth her streams to all the trees of the field. ⁵ Therefore was his stature exalted above all the trees of the field, and his branches spread far by the help of much water. ⁶ All the birds of the sky made their nests in his boughs, and under his branches all the wild beasts of the field bred; the whole multitude of nations dwelt under his shadow. ⁷ And he was fair in his height by reason of the multitude of his branches, for his roots were amidst much water. ⁸ And such cypresses as these were in the paradise of God; and there were no pines like his shoots, and there were no firs like his branches; no tree in the paradise of God was like him in his beauty, ⁹ because of the multitude of his branches. And the trees of God's Paradise of Delight envied him. ¹⁰ Therefore thus says the Lord: Because you have grown great, and have set your top in the midst of the clouds, and I saw when he was exalted; ¹¹ therefore I delivered him into the hands of the prince of the nations, and he wrought his destruction. ¹² And ravaging strangers from the nations have destroyed him, and have cast him down upon the mountains. His branches fell in all the valleys, and his boughs were broken in every field of the land; and all the people of the nations have gone down from their shelter, and have laid him low. ¹³ All the birds of the sky have settled on his fallen trunk, and all the wild beasts of the field came upon his boughs, ¹⁴ in order that none of the trees by the water should exalt themselves by reason of their size; whereas they set their top in the midst of the clouds, yet they continued not in their high state in their place, all that drank water, all were consigned to death, to the depth of the earth, in the midst of the children of men, with them that go down to the pit. ¹⁵ Thus says the Lord God: In the day in which he went down to Hades, the deep mourned for him; and I kept back her floods, and restrained her abundance of water; and Lebanon mourned for him, and all the trees of the field fainted for him. ¹⁶ At the sound of his fall the nations quaked, when I brought him down to Hades with them that go down to the pit. And all the trees of Delight comforted him in the heart, and the choice plants of Lebanon, all that drink water. ¹⁷ For they went down to hell with him among the slain with the sword; and his seed, even those that dwelt under his shadow, perished in the midst of their life. ¹⁸ To whom are you compared? Descend, and be debased with the trees of paradise to the depth of the earth. You shall lie in the midst of the uncircumcised with those that are slain by the sword. Thus shall Pharaoh be, and the multitude of his army, says the Lord God.

²⁰ The tree which you saw, which grew large and strong, whose height reached to the heavens, and its extent to all parts of the earth, ²¹ and whose leaves were flourishing, and its fruit abundant, (and it was food for all; under it the wild beasts lodged, and the birds of the sky took shelter in its branches) ²² is you, O king; for you have grown great and powerful, and your greatness has increased and reached to the heavens, and your dominion to the ends of the earth. ²³ And whereas the king saw a watcher and a holy one coming down from heaven, and he said, Strip the tree, and destroy it; only leave the stump of its roots in the ground, and bind it with a band of iron and brass; and it shall lie in the outer grass, and in the dew of heaven, and its portion shall be with wild beasts, until seven times have passed over it. ²⁴ This is the interpretation of it, O king, and it is a decree of the Most High, which has come upon my lord the king: ²⁵ and they shall drive you forth from men, and your dwelling shall be with the wild beasts, and they shall feed you with grass like an ox, and you shall have your lodging under the dew of heaven, and seven times shall pass over you, until you know that the Most High is Lord of the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever He chooses. ²⁶ And whereas they said, Leave the stumps of the roots of the tree; your kingdom shall be assured to you, from the time that you realize the power of the heavens.

⁴ And they said, Come, let us build to ourselves a city and tower, whose top shall be to heaven, and let us make to ourselves a name, before we are scattered abroad upon the face of all the earth.

¹ Hear, O Israel: You go this day across the Jordan to inherit nations greater and stronger than yourselves, cities great and walled up to heaven;

²¹ and whose leaves were flourishing, and its fruit abundant, (and it was food for all; under it the wild beasts lodged, and the birds of the sky took shelter in its branches) ²² is you, O king; for you have grown great and powerful, and your greatness has increased and reached to the heavens, and your dominion to the ends of the earth.

²³ And you, Capernaum, the one having been exalted to heaven, you will be brought down to Hades; because if the miracles which were done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained to this day.

⁶ I have given the earth to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon to serve him, and the wild beasts of the field to labor for him. ⁷ (TEXT OMITTED)

²⁰ ( { ψ}) RECHS. The breath of our nostrils, our anointed Lord, was taken in their destructive snares, of whom we said, In His shadow we shall live among the Gentiles.

²³ and I will hang it on a lofty mountain of Israel: yea, I will plant it, and it shall put forth shoots, and shall bear fruit, and it shall be a great cedar. And every bird shall rest beneath it, even every fowl shall rest under its shadow; its branches shall be restored.

⁶ All the birds of the sky made their nests in his boughs, and under his branches all the wild beasts of the field bred; the whole multitude of nations dwelt under his shadow. ⁷ And he was fair in his height by reason of the multitude of his branches, for his roots were amidst much water.

³² which indeed is smaller than all the seeds; but whenever it is grown, it is greater than the garden vegetables and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and nest in its branches."

³² "But concerning that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but the Father.

¹⁹ It is like a mustard seed, which a man took and put in his garden; and it grew and became a large tree, and the birds of the air nested in its branches."

² And he said, The Lord has come from Sinai, and has appeared from Seir to us, and has shone forth from Mount Paran, with the ten thousands of Kadesh; on His right hand were His angels with Him.

⁷ God is glorified in the council of the saints; great and terrible toward all that are round about Him.

²⁰ Bless the Lord, all you His angels, mighty in strength, who do His bidding, ready to hearken to the voice of His words.

¹⁰ I had a vision upon my bed; and behold a tree in the midst of the earth, and its height was great.

²³ And whereas the king saw a watcher and a holy one coming down from heaven, and he said, Strip the tree, and destroy it; only leave the stump of its roots in the ground, and bind it with a band of iron and brass; and it shall lie in the outer grass, and in the dew of heaven, and its portion shall be with wild beasts, until seven times have passed over it.

¹ In the first year of Belteshazzar, king of the Chaldeans Daniel had a dream, and visions of his head upon his bed: and he wrote his dream.

¹⁷ These four beasts are four kingdoms that shall rise up on the earth,

²³ And he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom on the earth, which shall excel beyond all other kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and trample and destroy it.

¹³ And I heard one saint speaking, and a saint said to a certain one speaking, How long shall the vision continue, even the removal of the sacrifice, and the bringing in of the sin of desolation; and how long shall the sanctuary and host be trampled?

⁵ And the valley of My mountains shall be closed up, and the valley of the mountains shall be joined on to Jasod, and shall be blocked up as it was blocked up in the days of the earthquake, in the days of Uzziah king of Judah; and the Lord my God shall come, and all the saints with Him.

³¹ "And when the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then will He sit upon His glorious throne.

²⁴ saying, "Let us alone! What have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? Did You come to destroy us? I know who You are--the Holy One of God!"

³⁴ saying, "Ah! What have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? Did You come to destroy us? I know who You are--the Holy One of God!"

¹⁴ Now Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men, saying, "Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of His saints,

¹⁰ then he shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out undiluted in the cup of His wrath. And they shall be tormented with fire and brimstone before the holy angels and before the Lamb.

⁶ Flee from the midst of Babylon, and deliver everyone his soul; and be not overthrown in her iniquity; for it is the time of her retribution from the Lord. He is rendering to her a recompense.

⁹ We tried to heal Babylon, but she was not healed. Let us forsake her, and depart everyone to his own country; for her judgment has reached to the heaven, it has mounted up to the stars.

¹² its leaves were fair, and its fruit abundant, and in it was food for all; and under it the wild beasts of the field took shelter, and the birds of the sky lodged in the branches of it, and all flesh was fed by it.

²⁰ But when his heart was lifted up, and his spirit was emboldened to act proudly, he was deposed from his royal throne, and his honor was taken from him.

¹⁰ But even now, the ax is laid to the root of the trees. Therefore every tree not producing good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.

⁷ Then he said to the vinedresser, 'Look, for three years I have come looking for fruit on this fig tree, and I haven't found any. Cut it down; why does it even waste the ground?' ⁸ But he answered and said to him, 'Sir, let it alone this year also, until I dig around it and fertilize it. ⁹ And if it produces fruit, fine. But if not, in the coming year, you can cut it down.' "

³ and cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roars. And when he cried out, the seven thunders uttered their own voices.

² And he cried out with a strong voice, saying, "Babylon the great has fallen, and she has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every unclean spirit, and a cage for every unclean and detestable bird!

⁷ For there is hope for a tree, even if it should be cut down, that it shall blossom again, and its branch shall not fail. ⁸ For though its root should grow old in the earth, and its stem die in the rock, ⁹ it will blossom from the scent of water, and will produce a crop, as one newly planted.

¹⁴ and I will turn the captivity of the Egyptians, and will cause them to dwell in the land of Pathros, in the land from where they were taken; ¹⁵ and it shall be a lowly kingdom beyond all other kingdoms; it shall not anymore be exalted over the nations; and I will make them few in number, that they may not be great among the nations.

²⁵ and they shall drive you forth from men, and your dwelling shall be with the wild beasts, and they shall feed you with grass like an ox, and you shall have your lodging under the dew of heaven, and seven times shall pass over you, until you know that the Most High is Lord of the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever He chooses. ²⁶ And whereas they said, Leave the stumps of the roots of the tree; your kingdom shall be assured to you, from the time that you realize the power of the heavens. ²⁷ Therefore, O king, let my counsel please you, and atone for your sins by alms, and your iniquities by compassion on the poor; perhaps God will be longsuffering toward your trespasses.

¹⁰ For the heart of this people has become dull, and their ears are hard of hearing, and they have closed their eyes; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.

²⁵ and they shall drive you forth from men, and your dwelling shall be with the wild beasts, and they shall feed you with grass like an ox, and you shall have your lodging under the dew of heaven, and seven times shall pass over you, until you know that the Most High is Lord of the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever He chooses.

³¹ While the word was yet in the king's mouth, there came a voice from heaven, saying, King Nebuchadnezzar, to you it is spoken, The kingdom has departed from you. ³² And they shall drive you from men, and your dwelling shall be with the wild beasts of the field, and they shall feed you with grass like an ox. And seven times shall pass over you, until you know that the Most High is Lord of the kingdom of men, and He shall give it to whomever He chooses. ³³ In the same hour the word was fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar. And he was driven forth from men, and he ate grass like an ox, and his body was bathed with the dew of heaven, until his hair had grown like the hair of a lion, and his nails as birds' claws.

²⁵ And he shall speak words against the Most High, and shall wear out the saints of the Most High, and shall think to change times and law. And power shall be given into his hand for a time, times and half a time.

¹³ For the king of the north shall return, and bring a multitude greater than the former, and at the end of the times of years an invading army shall come with a great force, and with much substance.

⁷ And I heard the man clothed in linen, who was over the water of the river, and he lifted up his right hand and his left hand to heaven, and swore by Him that lives forever, that it should be for a time, times and half a time. When the dispersion is ended, they shall know all these things.

⁴ because he often had been bound with shackles and chains, and the chains had been torn apart by him, and the shackles had been broken, and no one was able to subdue him. ⁵ And always, night and day, he was in the mountains and in the tombs, crying out and bruising himself with stones.

²⁷ And when He got out on the land, there met Him a certain man from the city who had demons for a long time. And he wore no clothes, nor did he live in a house, but among the tombs. ²⁸ And seeing Jesus and crying out, he fell down before Him, and with a loud voice he said, "What have I to do with You, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg You, do not torment me!" ²⁹ For He had commanded the unclean spirit to come out from the man. For it had seized him at times, and he was bound, kept under guard, with chains and shackles; and he broke the bonds and was driven by the demon into the wilderness.

¹¹ They shall perish, but You continue; and they all shall grow old like a garment;

¹⁴ And the woman was given two wings of a great eagle, so that she might fly into the desert to her place, so that she might be nourished there for a time and times and half a time, from the face of the serpent.

¹⁶ And for this purpose have you been preserved, that I might display My strength in you, and that My name might be published in all the earth.

⁸ He lifts up the poor from the earth, and raises the needy from the dunghill; to seat him with the princes of the people, and causing them to inherit the throne of glory;

²⁵ But Ahab did wickedly, in that he sold himself to do that which was evil in the sight of the Lord, as his wife Jezebel led him astray.

¹⁹ And Micaiah said, Not so, it is not I: hear the word of the Lord: I saw the God of Israel sitting on His throne, and all the host of heaven stood about Him on His right hand and on His left. ²⁰ And the Lord said, Who will deceive Ahab king of Israel, that he may go up and fall in Ramoth Gilead? And one spoke one way, and another spoke another way.

⁶ And he caused his sons to pass through the fire, and practiced witchcraft and soothsaying, and made groves, and multiplied wizards, so as to do that which was evil in the sight of the Lord, to provoke Him to anger. ⁷ And he set up the graven image of the grove in the house of which the Lord said to David, and to Solomon his son, In this house and in Jerusalem which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, will I even place My name forever. ⁸ And I will not again remove the foot of Israel from the land which I gave to their fathers, even of those who shall keep all that I commanded, according to all the commandments which My servant Moses commanded them. ⁹ But they hearkened not; and Manasseh led them astray to do evil in the sight of the Lord, beyond the nations whom the Lord utterly destroyed from before the children of Israel. ¹⁰ And the Lord spoke by His servants the prophets, saying, ¹¹ Forasmuch as Manasseh the king of Judah has wrought all these evil abominations, beyond all that the Amorites did who lived before him, and has led Judah also into sin by their idols, ¹² it shall not be so. Thus says the Lord God of Israel: Behold, I bring calamities upon Jerusalem and Judah, so that both the ears of everyone that hears shall tingle. ¹³ And I will stretch out over Jerusalem the measure of Samaria, and the plummet of the house of Ahab; and I will wipe Jerusalem as a jar is wiped, and turned upside down in the wiping. ¹⁴ And I will reject the remnant of My inheritance, and will deliver them into the hands of their enemies; and they shall be for a plunder and for a spoil to all their enemies; ¹⁵ forasmuch as they have done wickedly in My sight, and have provoked Me from the day that I brought out their fathers out of Egypt, even to this day. ¹⁶ Moreover Manasseh shed very much innocent blood, until he filled Jerusalem with it from one end to the other, beside his sins with which he caused Judah to sin, in doing evil in the eyes of the Lord. ¹⁷ And the rest of the acts of Manasseh, and all that he did, and his sin which he sinned, are not these things written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? ¹⁸ And Manasseh slept with his fathers, and was buried in the garden of his house, even in the garden of Uzza; and Amon his son reigned in his place.

²² but only troubled him in his affliction. And he departed yet again from the Lord, and King Ahaz said,

¹⁶ The Lord is known as executing judgments: the sinner is taken in the works of his hands. Pause.

⁸ The ungodly walk around; according to Your greatness You have greatly exalted the sons of men.

⁶ For good comes neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the desert mountains. ⁷ For God is the judge; He puts one down, and raises up another.

¹⁷ Let them be ashamed and troubled forevermore; yea, let them be confounded and destroyed. ¹⁸ And let them know that Your name is Lord; that You alone are Most High over all the earth.

⁷ who lifts up the poor from the earth, and raises up the needy from the dunghill; ⁸ to set him with princes, even with the princes of His people;

³ And one cried to the other, and they said, Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory.

⁸ And I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go to this people? And I said, behold, I am here, send me. And He said, Go, and say to this people,

⁵ I have made the earth by My great power, and by My outstretched arm, and I will give it to whomsoever it shall seem good in My eyes.

²⁴ And I will turn back the boasting of their strength; and their holy things shall be defiled.

¹⁷ And I will execute great vengeance upon them, and they shall know that I am the Lord, when I have brought My vengeance upon them.

²¹ And He changes times and seasons; He appoints kings, and removes them, giving wisdom to the wise, and prudence to them that have understanding.

⁸ until Daniel came, whose name is Belteshazzar, according to the name of my god, who has within him the Holy Spirit of God, to whom I said, ⁹ O Belteshazzar, chief of the enchanters, of whom I know that the Holy Spirit of God is in you, and no mystery is too hard for you, hear the vision of my dream which I had, and tell me the interpretation of it.

¹³ I beheld in the night vision upon my bed, and behold, a watcher and a holy one came down from heaven and cried aloud, and thus he said, ¹⁴ Cut down the tree, and pluck off its branches, and shake off its leaves, and scatter its fruit — let the wild beasts be removed from under it, and the birds from its branches.

³² And they shall drive you from men, and your dwelling shall be with the wild beasts of the field, and they shall feed you with grass like an ox. And seven times shall pass over you, until you know that the Most High is Lord of the kingdom of men, and He shall give it to whomever He chooses. ³³ In the same hour the word was fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar. And he was driven forth from men, and he ate grass like an ox, and his body was bathed with the dew of heaven, until his hair had grown like the hair of a lion, and his nails as birds' claws.

¹⁸ O king, the Most High God gave to your father Nebuchadnezzar a kingdom, and majesty, and honor, and glory. ¹⁹ And by reason of the majesty which He gave to him, all nations, tribes, and languages trembled and feared before him. Whomever he wished, he executed; whomever he wished, he exalted; and whomever he wished, he abased. ²⁰ But when his heart was lifted up, and his spirit was emboldened to act proudly, he was deposed from his royal throne, and his honor was taken from him. ²¹ And he was driven forth from men. And a heart was given to him after the nature of wild beasts, and his dwelling was with the wild donkeys. And they fed him with grass like an ox, and his body was bathed with the dew of heaven, until he knew that the Most High God is Lord of the kingdom of men, and will give it to whomever He chooses.

²¹ One shall stand on his place, who has been set at nought, and they have not put upon him the honor of the kingdom: but he shall come in prosperously, and obtain the kingdom by deceitful ways.

²⁸ And the base things of the world, and the things having been despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, in order that He might nullify the things which are,

²¹ I charge you before God and the Lord Jesus Christ and the elect angels that you observe these things without prejudice, doing nothing according to partiality.

⁸ And the four living beings, each one having six wings apiece, were full of eyes around and within. And they never rest day or night, saying, "Holy, holy, holy, Holy, holy, holy, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, He who was, and who is, and who is to come!"

¹⁵ And Pharaoh said to Joseph, I have seen a vision, and there is no one to interpret it; but I have heard it said concerning you that you can hear dreams and interpret them.

³ And the spirit of the Egyptians shall be troubled within them; and I will frustrate their counsel; and they shall inquire of their gods and their images, and them that speak out of the earth, and them that have in them a divining spirit.

²⁶ And the king answered and said to Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, Can you declare to me the dream which I saw, and its interpretation? ²⁷ And Daniel answered before the king, and said, The mystery of which the king asks is not in the power of the wise men, magicians, enchanters, or soothsayers to declare to the king. ²⁸ But there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries, and He has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar what things must come to pass in the last days. Your dream, and the visions of your head upon your bed are as follows:

⁷ So the enchanters, magicians, soothsayers, and Chaldeans came in, and I told the dream before them; but they did not make known to me its interpretation;

⁸ Then all the king's wise men came in, but they could not read the writing, nor make known its interpretation to the king.

¹⁵ And now, the wise men, magicians, and soothsayers have come in before me, to read the writing, and make known to me the interpretation, but they could not tell it to me.

⁷ For the Lord God will do nothing without revealing instruction to His servants the prophets.

³⁵ And she said to her father, Be not indignant, Sir; I cannot rise up before you, for it is with me according to the manner of women. Laban searched in all the house, and did not find the images.

⁴ And he charged them, saying, Thus shall you say to my lord Esau: Thus says your servant Jacob; I have sojourned with Laban and stayed there until now. ⁵ And there were born to me oxen, donkeys, sheep, male and female servants; and I sent to tell my lord Esau, that your servant might find grace in your sight.

¹⁸ You shall say, Your servant Jacob's; he has sent gifts to my lord Esau, and behold, he is behind us.

³² And now if You will forgive their sin, forgive; and if not, blot me out of Your book, which You have written.

¹⁵ And Anna answered and said, No my lord, I live in a hard day, and I have not drunk wine or strong drink, and I pour out my soul before the Lord.

¹⁷ And he said, What was the word that was spoken to you? I pray you do not hide it from me: may God do these things to you, and more also, if you hide from me anything of all the words that were spoken to you in your ears.

¹⁵ And David said to Abner, Are you not a man? And who is like you in Israel? Why then do you not guard your lord the king? For one out of the people went in to destroy your lord the king.

³¹ And, behold, Hushai came up, and said to the king, Let my lord the king hear the good news, for the Lord has avenged you this day upon all them that rose up against you. ³² And the king said to Hushai, Is it well with the young man Absalom? And Hushai said, Let the enemies of my lord the king, and all whosoever have risen up against him for evil, be as that young man.

⁷ And Obadiah was alone in the road; and Elijah came alone to meet him. And Obadiah made haste, and fell upon his face, and said, My lord Elijah, are you indeed he?

¹⁹ I am pained in my bowels, my bowels, and the sensitive powers of my heart. My soul is in great commotion, my heart is torn. I will not be silent, for my soul has heard the sound of a trumpet, the cry of war, and of distress: it calls on destruction.

⁷ And seek the peace of the land into which I have carried you captive, and you shall pray to the Lord for the people: for in its peace you shall have peace.

²⁶ And the king answered and said to Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, Can you declare to me the dream which I saw, and its interpretation?

⁴ I, Nebuchadnezzar, was thriving in my house, and prospering. ⁵ I saw a vision and it terrified me, and I was troubled on my bed, and the visions of my head troubled me.

²⁴ This is the interpretation of it, O king, and it is a decree of the Most High, which has come upon my lord the king:

¹² For there is an excellent spirit in him, and sense and understanding is in him, interpreting dreams as he does, and answering hard questions, and solving riddles. It is Daniel, and the king gave him the name of Belteshazzar. Now then let him be called, and he shall tell you the interpretation of the writing.

¹⁵ As for me, Daniel, my spirit in my body trembled, and the visions of my head troubled me.

²⁷ And I, Daniel, fell asleep, and was sick. Then I arose, and did the king's business; and I was astonished by the vision, and there was none that understood it.

¹⁶ And behold, as it were the likeness of a son of man touched my lips; and I opened my mouth, and spoke, and said to him that stood before me, O my lord, at the sight of you my insides were turned within me, and I had no strength. ¹⁷ And how shall your servant be able, O my lord, to speak with this my lord? And as for me, from now on strength will not remain in me, and there is no breath left in me.

¹⁰ The nations shall see You and be in pain, as You divided the moving waters: the deep uttered her voice, and raised her form on high.

³ Behold, the Assyrian was a cypress in Lebanon, and was fair in shoots, and high in stature; his top reached to the midst of the clouds.

¹⁶ At the sound of his fall the nations quaked, when I brought him down to Hades with them that go down to the pit. And all the trees of Delight comforted him in the heart, and the choice plants of Lebanon, all that drink water.

¹⁰ I had a vision upon my bed; and behold a tree in the midst of the earth, and its height was great. ¹¹ The tree grew large and strong, and its height reached to the sky, and its extent to the extremity of the whole earth; ¹² its leaves were fair, and its fruit abundant, and in it was food for all; and under it the wild beasts of the field took shelter, and the birds of the sky lodged in the branches of it, and all flesh was fed by it.

¹² and dreamed. And behold, a ladder fixed on the earth, whose top reached to heaven, and the angels of God ascended and descended on it.

⁷ And Nathan said to David, You are the man that has done this! Thus says the Lord God of Israel: I anointed you to be king over Israel, and I rescued you out the hand of Saul;

⁹ And there was a prophet of the Lord there whose name was Oded. And he went out to meet the army that was coming to Samaria, and said to them, Behold, the wrath of the Lord God of your fathers is upon Judah, and He has delivered them into your hands, but you have killed them in wrath, and it has reached even to heaven.

⁵ O Lord, Your mercy is in the heavens; and Your truth reaches to the clouds.

⁴ For Your mercy is great above the heavens, and Your truth reaches to the clouds.

⁶ I have given the earth to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon to serve him, and the wild beasts of the field to labor for him. ⁷ (TEXT OMITTED) ⁸ And the nation and kingdom, all that shall not put their neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, with sword and famine will I visit them, says the Lord, until they are consumed by his hand.

³⁷ You, O king, are a king of kings, to whom the God of heaven has given a powerful and strong and honorable kingdom, ³⁸ in every place where the children of men dwell: and He has given into your hand the wild beasts of the field, and the birds of the sky and the fish of the sea, and He has made you ruler over them all.

⁴ For John said to him, "It is not lawful for you to have her."

⁵ Because her sins have reached to heaven, and God has remembered her crimes.

And they fed him with grass like an ox, and his body was bathed with the dew of heaven, until he knew that the Most High God is Lord of the kingdom of men, and will give it to whomever He chooses.

¹² Then the Lord said to the devil, Behold, I give all that he has into your hand, but touch not himself. So the devil went out from the presence of the Lord. ¹³ And it came to pass on a certain day, that Job's sons and his daughters were drinking wine in the house of their elder brother. ¹⁴ And behold, there came a messenger to Job, and said to him, The oxen were plowing, and the donkeys were feeding near them; ¹⁵ when the spoilers came and took them for prey, and killed the servants with the sword; and I alone have escaped, and have come to tell you. ¹⁶ While he was yet speaking, there came another messenger, and said to Job, Fire has fallen from heaven, and burned up the sheep, and likewise have devoured the shepherds; and I alone have escaped, and have come to tell you. ¹⁷ While he was yet speaking, there came another messenger, and said to Job, The horsemen formed three companies against us, and surrounded the camels, and took them for prey, and killed the servants with the sword; and I alone have escaped, and have come to tell you. ¹⁸ While he was yet speaking, another messenger came and said to Job, While your sons and your daughters were eating and drinking with their older brother, ¹⁹ suddenly a great wind came from across the desert, and caught the four corners of the house, and the house fell upon your children, and they are dead; and I alone have escaped, and have come to tell you.

²⁹ This is the portion of an ungodly man from the Lord, and the possession of his goods appointed him by the all-seeing God.

^{11 (40:6)} And send forth messengers with wrath, and lay low every haughty one. ^{12 (40:7)} Bring down also the proud man, and consume at once the ungodly.

⁷ declaring the ordinance of the Lord: the Lord has said to Me, You are My Son, today I have begotten You.

⁴⁰ Contempt is poured upon their princes, and He causes them to wander in a desert, and in a trackless land.

⁶ He has established them forever, even forever and ever; He has made an ordinance, and it shall not pass away.

²⁴ Thus says the Lord of hosts, As I have said, so it shall be; and as I have purposed, so the matter shall remain; ²⁵ even to destroy the Assyrians upon My land, and upon My mountains; and they shall be for trampling; and their yoke shall be taken away from them, and their glory shall be taken away from their shoulders. ²⁶ This is the purpose which the Lord has purposed upon the whole earth; and this the hand that is uplifted against all the nations. ²⁷ For what the Holy God has purposed, who shall frustrate? And who shall turn back His uplifted hand?

⁹ The Lord of hosts has purposed to bring down all the pride of the glorious ones, and to disgrace every glorious thing on the earth.

¹⁰ declaring beforehand the latter events before they come to pass, and they are accomplished together; and I said, all My counsel shall stand, and I will do all things that I have planned; ¹¹ calling a bird from the east, and from a land afar off, for the things which I have planned; I have spoken, and brought him; I have created and made him; I have brought him, and prospered his way.

³ One is childless from want and famine, such as they that fled but lately the distress and misery of drought. ⁴ Who compass the salty places on the sounding shore, who had salt herbs for their food, and were dishonorable and of no repute, in need of every good thing; who also ate roots of trees by reason of great hunger. ⁵ Thieves have risen up against me, ⁶ whose houses were the caves of the rocks, who lived under the wild shrubs. ⁷ They will cry out among the rustling bushes. ⁸ They are sons of fools and vile men, whose name and glory are quenched from off the earth.

⁷ For God is the judge; He puts one down, and raises up another.

¹⁸ And let them know that Your name is Lord; that You alone are Most High over all the earth.

²⁰ and they changed their glory into the likeness of a calf that feeds on grass.

³ who had his dwelling among the tombs. And no one could bind him, not even with chains, ⁴ because he often had been bound with shackles and chains, and the chains had been torn apart by him, and the shackles had been broken, and no one was able to subdue him.

³⁷ You, O king, are a king of kings, to whom the God of heaven has given a powerful and strong and honorable kingdom,

¹⁵ Only leave the stump of its roots in the earth, and bind it with an iron and brass band; and it shall lie in the outer grass, and in the dew of heaven, and its portion shall be with the wild beasts in the grass of the field.

³⁴ "But I say to you, do not swear at all: neither by heaven, for it is God's throne;

²⁰ And when the disciples saw it, they marveled, saying, "How did the fig tree wither away so soon?"

¹⁸ I will arise and go to my father, and I will say to him, "Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you,

²¹ And the son said to him, 'Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you, and am no longer worthy to be called your son.'

³³ Now then, select a wise and prudent man, and set him over the land of Egypt. ³⁴ And let Pharaoh make and appoint local governors over the land; and let them take up a fifth part of all the produce of the land of Egypt for the seven years of the plenty. ³⁵ And let them gather all the food of these seven good years that are coming, and let the grain be gathered under the hand of Pharaoh; let food be kept in the cities. ³⁶ And the stored food shall be for the land against the seven years of famine, which shall be in the land of Egypt; and the land shall not be utterly destroyed by the famine. ³⁷ And the word was pleasing in the sight of Pharaoh, and in the sight of all his servants.

²⁹ Have you seen how Ahab has been pricked to the heart before Me? I will not bring on the evil in his days, but in his son's days will I bring on the evil.

³¹ For there is one that says to the Mighty One, I have received blessings; I will not take a pledge: ³² I will see apart from myself — show me if I have done unrighteousness; I will not do so anymore.

¹ For the end, A Psalm of David. Blessed is the man who thinks on the poor and needy; the Lord shall deliver him in an evil day. ² May the Lord preserve him and keep him alive, and bless him on the earth, and not deliver him into the hands of his enemy. ³ May the Lord help him upon the bed of his pain; You have made all his bed in his sickness.

⁴⁶ And I spoke of Your testimonies before kings, and was not ashamed.

¹³ He that covers his own ungodliness shall not prosper, but he that blames himself shall be loved.

⁶ Seek the Lord, and when you find Him, call upon Him; and when He draws near to you, ⁷ let the ungodly leave his ways, and the transgressor his counsels; and let him return to the Lord, and he shall find mercy; for He shall abundantly pardon your sins.

⁵ I have not chosen this fast, nor such a day for a man to afflict his soul; although you should bend down your neck as a ring, and spread under you sackcloth and ashes, neither thus shall you call a fast acceptable. ⁶ I have not chosen such a fast, says the Lord; but do you loose every burden of iniquity, do you untie the knots of hard bargains, set the bruised free, and cancel every unjust account? ⁷ Break your bread to the hungry, and lead the unsheltered poor to your house; if you see one naked, clothe him, and you shall not disregard the relations of your own seed.

¹⁰ and if you give bread to the hungry from your heart, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall your light spring up in darkness, and your darkness shall be as noon day; ¹¹ and your God shall be with you continually, and you shall be satisfied according as your soul desires; and your bones shall be made fat, and shall be as a well-watered garden, and as a fountain from which the water has not failed. ¹² And your old waste desert places shall be built up, and your foundations shall last through all generations; and you shall be called a repairer of breaches, and you shall cause your paths between to be in peace.

⁷ and shall not oppress any man, but shall return the pledge of the debtor, and shall be guilty of no plunder, shall give his bread to the hungry, and clothe the naked;

²¹ And if the transgressor shall turn away from all his iniquities which he has committed, and keep all My commandments, and do justice and mercy, he shall surely live, and shall no means die. ²² None of his trespasses which he has committed shall be remembered; in his righteousness which he has done he shall live.

²⁷ And when the wicked man turns away from his wickedness that he has committed, and shall do judgment and justice, he has kept his soul, ²⁸ and has turned away from all his ungodliness which he has committed: he shall surely live, he shall not die. ²⁹ Yet the house of Israel says, The way of the Lord is not right. Is not My way right, O house of Israel? Is not your way wrong? ³⁰ I will judge you, O house of Israel, says the Lord, each one according to his way: be converted, and turn from all your ungodliness, and it shall not become to you the punishment of iniquity. ³¹ Cast away from yourselves all your ungodliness in which you have sinned against Me; and make to yourselves a new heart and a new spirit: for why should you die, O house of Israel? ³² For I desire not the death of him that dies, says the Lord.

¹⁴ Who knows if He will return, and repent, and leave a blessing behind Him, even a grain offering and a drink offering to the Lord your God?

⁹ Who knows if God will relent, and turn from His fierce anger, and so we shall not perish?

² before you become as the flower that passes away, before the anger of the Lord come upon you, before the day of the wrath of the Lord come upon you. ³ Seek the Lord, all you meek of the earth; do judgment, and seek justice, and answer accordingly; that you may be hid in the day of the wrath of the Lord.

⁸ Therefore produce fruits worthy of repentance,

⁴¹ Nevertheless give what is inside as alms; and see, all things are clean to you.

²² Repent therefore from this your wickedness, and make petition to God, if perhaps the intent of your heart will be forgiven you.

² a devout man, and one that feared God, together with all his household, who often gave alms to the people, and making petition to God always. ³ About the ninth hour of the day he saw clearly in a vision an angel of God coming to him and saying to him, "Cornelius!" ⁴ And looking intently at him and becoming fearful he said, "What is it, lord?" And he said to him, "Your prayers and your alms have come up for a memorial before God.

²⁵ And as he reasoned about righteousness, self-control, and the judgment which is going to be, Felix became afraid and answered, "Go away for now; but when I have opportunity I will summon you."

²⁰ but to those first in Damascus and in Jerusalem, and throughout all the region of Judea, and to the Gentiles, proclaiming that they must repent and turn to God, and do works worthy of repentance.

¹¹ Knowing, therefore, the fear of the Lord, we persuade men; but we have been made known to God. And I also hope to have been made known in your consciences.

⁶ For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything, but faith working through love.

¹³ For you, brothers were called to freedom; only do not use freedom for an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.

²² But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

²⁸ Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working that which is good with his hands, in order that he may have something to share with him who has need.

⁸ Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. ⁹ Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter change into mourning and your joy into dejection. ¹⁰ Be humbled before the Lord, and He will exalt you.

⁸ And above all things have fervent love for one another, because "love will cover a multitude of sins."

¹⁹ God is not as a man that He should waver, nor as a son of man that He should be threatened; shall He say and not perform? Shall He speak and not keep His word?

²⁴ The ungodly is engulfed in destruction, but the desire of the righteous is acceptable.

⁶ But do you receive My words and My ordinances, all that I command by My Spirit to My servants the prophets, who lived in the days of your fathers? And they answered and said, As the Lord Almighty determined to do to us, according to our ways, and according to our practices, so has He done to us.

³⁵ Heaven and earth shall pass away, but My words shall by no means pass away.

^{3 (6:4)} And the Lord God said, My Spirit shall certainly not remain among these men forever, because they are flesh, but their days shall be one hundred and twenty years.

¹¹ Because there is no contradiction made on the part of those who are quick to do evil, therefore the heart of the children of men is fully determined in them to do evil.

²⁰ who formerly disobeyed, when the longsuffering of God was waiting in the days of Noah, when the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water;

⁹ The Lord does not delay concerning His promise, as some reckon slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. ¹⁰ But the day of the Lord shall come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens shall pass away with a rushing noise, and the elements, burning with heat, shall be dissolved, both the earth and the works that are in it shall be burned up.

¹⁵ and consider that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation--just as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, wrote to you,

²¹ And I gave her time so that she might repent, and she does not wish to repent of her fornication.

¹⁰ And the beginning of his kingdom was Babylon, Erech, Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.

² And it came to pass as they moved from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar, and they dwelt there. ³ And a man said to his neighbor, Come, let us make bricks and bake them with fire. And the brick was to them for stone, and their mortar was asphalt. ⁴ And they said, Come, let us build to ourselves a city and tower, whose top shall be to heaven, and let us make to ourselves a name, before we are scattered abroad upon the face of all the earth. ⁵ And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the sons of men had built. ⁶ And the Lord said, Behold, there is one race, and one language of all, and they have begun to do this, and now nothing shall fail from them of all that they have undertaken to do. ⁷ Come, let Us go down and confound their language, that they may not understand each the voice of his neighbor. ⁸ And the Lord scattered them from there over the face of all the earth, and they left off building the city and the tower. ⁹ On this account its name was called Babel, because there the Lord confounded the languages of all the earth, and then the Lord scattered them upon the face of all the earth.

¹² From You come wealth and glory. You, O Lord, rule over all, the Lord of all dominion, and in Your hand is strength and rule; and You are almighty with Your hand to increase and establish all things. ¹³ And now, O Lord, we give thanks to You, and praise Your glorious name. ¹⁴ But who am I, and what is my people, that we have been able to be thus forward in offering to You? For all things are Yours, and of Your own have we given You,

⁵ And the house which I am building is to be great: for the Lord our God is great beyond all gods. ⁶ And who will be able to build Him a house? For the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain His glory. And who am I, that I should build Him a house, except only to burn incense before Him?

⁴ And after this, after he had shown to them the wealth of his kingdom, and the abundant glory of his wealth during a hundred and eighty days,

²⁰ Man that is in honor, understands not; he is compared to the senseless cattle, and is likened unto them.

⁸ They have taken counsel and spoken in wickedness; they have uttered unrighteousness loftily.

¹ A Psalm of David. Bless the Lord, O my soul. O Lord my God, You are very great; You have clothed Yourself with praise and honor;

⁵ And they shall speak of the glorious majesty of Your holiness, and recount Your wonders. ⁶ And they shall speak of the power of Your awesome acts; and recount of Your greatness. ⁷ They shall utter the memory of the abundance of Your goodness, and shall exalt in Your righteousness. ⁸ The Lord is compassionate, and merciful; long suffering, and abundant in mercy. ⁹ The Lord is good to those that wait on Him; and His compassions are over all His works. ¹⁰ Let all Your works, O Lord, give thanks to You; and let Your saints bless You. ¹¹ They shall speak of the glory of Your kingdom, and talk of Your dominion; ¹² to make known to the sons of men Your power, and the glorious majesty of Your kingdom.

¹⁸ Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.

⁸ And if they should say to him, You alone are ruler; ⁹ then shall he say, Have I not taken the country above Babylon and Chalanes, where the tower was built? And have I not taken Arabia, and Damascus, and Samaria? ¹⁰ As I have taken them, I will also take all the kingdoms; howl, you idols in Jerusalem, and in Samaria. ¹¹ For as I did to Samaria and her idols, so will I also do to Jerusalem and her idols. ¹² And it shall come to pass, when the Lord has finished doing all things on Mount Zion and Jerusalem, that I will visit upon the proud heart, even upon the ruler of the Assyrians, and upon the boastful haughtiness of his eyes. ¹³ For he said, I will act in strength, and in the wisdom of my understanding I will remove the boundaries of nations, and will spoil their strength. ¹⁴ And I will shake the inhabited cities; and I will take with My hand all the world as a nest; and I will even take them as eggs that have been left; and there is none that shall escape Me, or contradict Me. ¹⁵ Shall the ax glorify itself without him that chops with it? Or shall the saw lift itself up without him that uses it, as if one should lift a rod or staff? But it shall not be so;

²⁴ For you have reproached the Lord by messengers; for you have said, With the multitude of chariots have I ascended to the height of mountains, and to the sides of Lebanon, and I have cropped the height of his cedars and the beauty of his cypresses, and I entered into the height of the forest region; ²⁵ and I have made a bridge, and dried up the waters, and every pool of water.

¹⁸ O king, the Most High God gave to your father Nebuchadnezzar a kingdom, and majesty, and honor, and glory. ¹⁹ And by reason of the majesty which He gave to him, all nations, tribes, and languages trembled and feared before him. Whomever he wished, he executed; whomever he wished, he exalted; and whomever he wished, he abased. ²⁰ But when his heart was lifted up, and his spirit was emboldened to act proudly, he was deposed from his royal throne, and his honor was taken from him.

¹⁵ He has brought up destruction with a hook, and drawn one with a casting net, and caught another in his drags: therefore shall his heart rejoice and be glad. ¹⁶ Therefore will he sacrifice to his drag, and burn incense to his casting net, because by them he has made his portion fat, and his meats choice.

⁴ If he should draw back, My soul has no pleasure in him: but the just shall live by My faith. ⁵ But the arrogant man and the scorner, the boastful man, shall not finish anything; who has enlarged his desire as the grave, and like death he is never satisfied, and he will gather to himself all the nations, and will receive to himself all the peoples.

¹¹ For everyone who exalts himself shall be humbled, and he who humbles himself shall be exalted."

³¹ Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all things for the glory of God.

⁵ Likewise, younger people, subject yourselves to the elders. And all of you be subject to one another, and be clothed with humility, because "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble."

¹⁹ Now the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. And Babylon the great was remembered before God, to give her the cup of the wine of the rage of His wrath.

⁵ And on her forehead a name was written: MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.

¹⁰ standing from afar on account of the fear of her torment, saying, 'Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! Because in one hour your judgment came.'

²¹ Then a mighty angel picked up a stone like a great millstone and threw it into the sea, saying, "Thus with violence Babylon the great city shall be cast down, and shall by no means be found anymore.

²⁴ And the nations shall walk in its light, and the kings of the earth shall bring to it the glory and honor of the nations into it. ²⁵ And its gates shall by no means be closed by day, for night shall not exist there. ²⁶ And they shall bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it, so that they may enter.

⁹ The enemy said, I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoils; I will satisfy my soul, I will destroy with my sword, my hand shall have dominion. ¹⁰ You sent forth Your wind, the sea covered them; they sank like lead in the mighty water.

¹⁴ But now your kingdom shall not stand, and the Lord shall seek for Himself a man after His own heart; and the Lord shall appoint him to be a ruler over His people, because you have not kept all that the Lord has commanded you.

²³ For sin is as divination; idols bring on pain and grief. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, the Lord also shall reject you from being king over Israel.

²³ If by any means he would fill his belly, let God send upon him the fury of wrath; let Him bring a torrent of pains upon him.

³⁴ And at the end of the time, I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted up my eyes to heaven, and my reason returned to me, and I blessed the Most High, and praised Him that lives forever, and gave Him glory; for His dominion is an everlasting dominion, and His kingdom lasts to all generations.

⁴ They drank wine, and praised the gods of gold, and of silver, and of brass, and of iron, and of wood, and of stone. ⁵ In the same hour came forth fingers of a man's hand, and wrote in front of the lamp on the plaster of the wall of the king's house: and the king saw the knuckles of the hand that wrote.

²⁸ Peres; your kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.

¹⁷ And behold, a voice came out of the heavens, saying, "This is My beloved Son, in whom I have found delight."

²⁰ But God said to him, 'You fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have prepared?'

²⁸ Father, glorify Your name." Then a voice came out of heaven, saying, "I have both glorified it and will glorify it again."

³ And as he was going, it came about that he drew near to Damascus, and suddenly a light shone around him from heaven. ⁴ And falling on the ground, he heard a voice saying to him, "Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?" ⁵ And he said, "Who are You, Lord?" And the Lord said, "I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.

²² And the populace was calling out, "This is the voice of a god and not of a man!" ²³ Then immediately an angel of the Lord struck him, because he did not give glory to God. And becoming eaten by worms, he died.

³ For when they say, "Peace and safety!" then sudden destruction comes upon them, just as labor pains upon the woman that is pregnant, and they shall by no means escape.

⁷ And I heard the altar saying, "Yes, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are Your judgments."

¹⁰ And he said, Tomorrow. Therefore he said, As you have said, that you may know, that there is no other God but the Lord.

¹⁴ For at this present time I will send forth all My plagues into your heart, and the heart of your servants and of your people; that you may know that there is not another such as I in all the earth.

²⁹ And Moses said to him, When I have departed from the city, I will stretch out my hands to the Lord, and the thundering shall cease, and the hail and the rain shall be no longer, so that you may know that the earth is the Lord's.

²⁴ That all the nations of the earth might know, that the power of the Lord is mighty, and that you might worship the Lord our God in every work.

¹⁸ He seats kings upon thrones, and binds their waist with a belt. ¹⁹ He sends away priests into captivity, and overthrows the mighty ones of the earth. ²⁰ He changes the lips of the trusty, and He knows the understanding of the elders. ²¹ He pours dishonor upon princes, and heals the lowly.

⁵ Thieves have risen up against me, ⁶ whose houses were the caves of the rocks, who lived under the wild shrubs. ⁷ They will cry out among the rustling bushes.

¹⁵ By me kings reign, and princes decree justice. ¹⁶ By me nobles become great, and monarchs by me rule over the earth.

²⁰ But now, O Lord our God, deliver us from his hands, that every kingdom of the earth may know that You alone are God.

³ And I will give you the treasures of darkness, I will open to you hidden, unseen treasures, that you may know that I, the Lord your God, that call you by name, am the God of Israel.

¹⁴ Cut down the tree, and pluck off its branches, and shake off its leaves, and scatter its fruit — let the wild beasts be removed from under it, and the birds from its branches. ¹⁵ Only leave the stump of its roots in the earth, and bind it with an iron and brass band; and it shall lie in the outer grass, and in the dew of heaven, and its portion shall be with the wild beasts in the grass of the field. ¹⁶ His heart shall be changed from that of a man, and the heart of a wild beast shall be given to him; and seven times shall pass over him. ¹⁷ The matter is by the decree of the watcher, and the demand is a word of the holy ones; that the living may known that the Lord is Most High over the kingdom of men, and He will give it to whomever He will, and sets it over the lowest of men.

⁵ But the mirth of the ungodly is a signal downfall, and the joy of transgressors is destruction:

¹⁴ And its fall shall be as the breaking of an earthen vessel, as small fragments of a pitcher, so that you should not find among them a sherd, with which you might take up fire, and with which you should draw a little water.

³² And they shall drive you from men, and your dwelling shall be with the wild beasts of the field, and they shall feed you with grass like an ox. And seven times shall pass over you, until you know that the Most High is Lord of the kingdom of men, and He shall give it to whomever He chooses.

⁵ In the same hour came forth fingers of a man's hand, and wrote in front of the lamp on the plaster of the wall of the king's house: and the king saw the knuckles of the hand that wrote.

² For you yourselves know accurately that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night.

¹⁶ The Lord shall reign forever, even forever and ever: you Gentiles shall perish out His land.

¹⁴ Offer to God the sacrifice of praise; and pay your vows to the Most High.

¹ A Prayer of Moses the man of God. Lord, You have been our refuge in all generations. ² Before the mountains existed, and before the earth and the world were formed, even from age to age, You are God.

The zeal of the Lord of hosts shall perform this.

¹⁵ Therefore shall the glory of the Lord be in the isles of the sea; the name of the Lord shall be glorious.

I remembered by reason of my poverty, and because of persecution my bitterness and gall shall be remembered; ²⁰ and my soul shall meditate with me. ²¹ This will I lay up in my heart, therefore I will endure. ²² ( { η}) HETH. It is through the mercies of the Lord that He has not failed me, because His compassions are not exhausted. Pity us, O Lord, early every month: for we are not brought to an end, because His compassions are not exhausted. ²³ They are new every morning: great is Your faithfulness.

³⁸ Out of the mouth of the Most High there shall not come forth evil and good.

³ how great and mighty they are; His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and His power to all generations.

²⁶ And whereas they said, Leave the stumps of the roots of the tree; your kingdom shall be assured to you, from the time that you realize the power of the heavens.

²⁶ This decree has been set forth by me in every dominion of my kingdom, that men must tremble and fear before the God of Daniel; for He is the living and eternal God, and His kingdom shall not be destroyed, and His dominion is forever.

^{2 (2:3)} and said, I cried in my affliction to the Lord my God, and He hearkened unto me, even to my cry out of the belly of hell: You heard my voice. ^{3 (2:4)} For You have cast me into the depths of the heart of the sea, and the floods compassed me: all Your billows and Your waves have passed upon me. ^{4 (2:5)} And I said, I am cast out of Your presence: shall I indeed look again toward Your holy temple?

⁷ And I will make her that was bruised a remnant, and her that was rejected a mighty nation: and the Lord shall reign over them in Mount Zion from now on, even forever.

³³ And He shall reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there shall be no end."

²⁶ For just as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have life in Himself,

¹⁶ who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or is able to see, to whom be honor and everlasting power. Amen.

¹⁰ the twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and they worship Him that lives forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying:

⁶ and swore by Him who lives forever and ever, who created the heaven and the things in it, the earth and the things in it, and the sea and the things in it, that there should be no more delay;

¹⁸ And Samuel reported all the words, and did not hide them from him. And Eli said, He is the Lord, He shall do that which is good in His sight.

⁴ For He is wise in mind, and mighty, and great: who has hardened himself against Him and endured?

¹² If He would take away, who shall turn Him back? Or who shall say to Him, What have You done? ¹³ For if He has turned away His anger, the whales under heaven have stooped under Him.

¹³ And if He too has thus judged, who is he that has contradicted, for He has both willed a thing and done it.

¹² For how do you say, I am righteous, yet He has not listened to me? For He that is above mortals is eternal. ¹³ But you say, Why has He not heard every word of my cause?

¹⁴ For if He would confine, and restrain His Spirit with Himself; ¹⁵ all flesh would die together, and every mortal would return to the earth, from where he was formed.

¹⁹ Such a one as would not reverence the face of an honorable man, neither knows how to give honor to the great, so as that their persons should be respected. ²⁰ But it shall turn out as vanity to them, to cry and beseech a man; for they dealt unlawfully, the poor being turned aside from their right. ²¹ For He surveys the works of men, and nothing of what they do has escaped Him. ²² Neither shall there be a place for the workers of iniquity to hide themselves. ²³ For He will not lay upon a man more than right. ²⁴ For the Lord looks down upon all men, who comprehends unsearchable things, glorious also and excellent things without number.

²⁹ And He will give quiet, and who will condemn? And He will hide His face, and who shall see Him? Whether it be done against a nation, or against a man, also:

^{2 (39:32)} Will anyone pervert judgment with the Mighty One? And he that reproves God, let him answer it.

^{9 (40:4)} Have you an arm like the Lord's? Or can you thunder with a voice like His? ^{10 (40:5)} Assume now a lofty bearing and power; and clothe yourself with glory and honor.

² I know that You can do all things, and nothing is impossible with You.

⁸ Let all the earth fear the Lord; and let all that dwell in the world be moved because of Him. ⁹ For He spoke, and they were made; He commanded, and they were created. ¹⁰ The Lord frustrates the counsels of the nations; He brings to nought the reasonings of the people, and brings to nought the counsels of princes. ¹¹ But the counsel of the Lord endures forever, the thoughts of His heart from generation to generation.

¹⁴ He looks down from His dwelling place on all the inhabitants of the earth;

¹ For the end, A Psalm for the sons of Korah. Hear these words, all you nations, give ear, all you that dwell upon the earth;

³ But our God has done in heaven and on earth, whatsoever He has pleased.

⁶ all that the Lord willed, He did in heaven, and on the earth, in the sea, and in all the deep.

³⁰ There is no wisdom, there is no courage, there is no counsel against the ungodly.

⁹ which our soul longs for; my spirit seeks You very early in the morning, O God, for Your commandments are a light on the earth; learn righteousness, you that dwell upon the earth.

¹⁵ since all the nations are counted as a drop from a bucket, and as the turning of a balance, and shall be counted as spittle? ¹⁶ And Lebanon is not enough to burn, nor all beasts enough for a whole burnt offering; ¹⁷ and all the nations are as nothing, and counted as nothing.

²² It is He that comprehends the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants in it are as grasshoppers; He that set up the heaven as a chamber, and stretched it out as a tent to dwell in; ²³ He that appoints princes to rule as nothing, and has made the earth as nothing. ²⁴ For they shall not plant, neither shall they sow, neither shall their root be fixed in the ground; He has blown upon them, and they have withered, and a storm shall carry them away like sticks.

¹³ even from the beginning; and there is none that can deliver out of My hands; I will work, and who shall turn it back?

⁹ What excellent thing have I prepared as clay of the potter? Will the plowman plow the earth all day? Shall the clay say to the potter, What are you doing that you do not work, nor have hands? Shall the thing formed answer Him that formed it? ¹⁰ As though one should say to his father, What will you beget me? And to his mother, What are you bringing forth? ¹¹ For thus says the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, who has formed the things that are to come, Inquire of Me concerning My sons, and concerning the works of My hands, ask of Me.

²⁵ At that time Jesus answered and said, "I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent, and have revealed them to babes. ²⁶ Yes, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight.

²⁸ to do all that Your hand and Your counsel foreordained to come to pass.

³⁹ but if it is of God, you cannot overthrow it--lest you even be found to fight against God."

⁵ And he said, "Who are You, Lord?" And the Lord said, "I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.

¹⁷ "If then God has given to them the same gift as He gave to us, when we believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I to be able to hinder God?"

¹⁹ You will say to me then, "Why does He still find fault? For who has ever resisted His will?" ²⁰ But indeed, O man, who are you to be answering back against God? Surely the thing formed will not say to him who formed it, "Why did you made me like this?"

³³ Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and untraceable are His ways! ³⁴ "For who has known the mind of the LORD? Or who has been His counselor?" ³⁵ "Or who has first given to Him, and it shall be repaid to him?" ³⁶ For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things; to Him be the glory forever! Amen.

¹⁶ For "Who has known the mind of the LORD, that he may instruct Him?" But we have the mind of Christ.

²² Or do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than He?

¹¹ In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will,

¹⁰ that at the name of Jesus every knee may bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, ¹¹ and that every tongue may confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

³⁰ Therefore thus says the Lord God of Israel: I said, Your house and the house of your father shall pass before Me forever: but now the Lord says, Far be it from Me; for I will only honor them that honor Me, and he that despises Me shall be despised.

¹² And when he was afflicted, he sought the face of the Lord his God, and was greatly humbled before the face of the God of his fathers; ¹³ and he prayed to Him. And He hearkened to him, and listened to his cry, and brought him back to Jerusalem to his kingdom. And Manasseh knew that the Lord, He is God.

¹² And your glorying shall prove in the end to you like ashes, and your body like a body of clay.

⁴ The fear of the Lord is the offspring of wisdom, wealth, glory, and life.

³³ But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

¹⁷ For our momentary light affliction is working out for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory,

¹¹ For now I know that the Lord is great above all gods, because of this, wherein they attacked them.

⁴ As for God, His works are true, and all His ways are judgment: God is faithful, and there is no unrighteousness in Him; just and holy is the Lord.

³ Boast not, and utter not high things; let not high sounding words come out of your mouth, for the Lord is a God of knowledge, and God prepares His own designs.

¹¹ And the Lord brought upon them the captains of the armies of the king of Assyria, and they took Manasseh in bonds, and bound him in fetters, and brought him to Babylon. ¹² And when he was afflicted, he sought the face of the Lord his God, and was greatly humbled before the face of the God of his fathers;

¹⁹ behold, they are in the account of his prayer. And God hearkened to him. And all his sins, and his backslidings, and the spots on which he built the high places, and set there groves and graven images, before he repented, behold, they are written in the books of the seers.

⁴ For the word of the Lord is right; and all His works are faithful. ⁵ He loves mercy and judgment; the earth is full of the mercy of the Lord.

⁴ And the king's honor loves judgment; You have prepared equity, You have established judgment and justice in Jacob.

⁷⁵ I know, O Lord, that Your judgments are righteousness, and that You in truthfulness have afflicted me.

¹⁷ The Lord is righteous in all His ways, and holy in all His works. ¹⁸ The Lord is near to all that call upon Him, to all that call upon Him in truth.

¹⁶ But the Lord of hosts shall be exalted in judgment, and the holy God shall be glorified in righteousness.

⁵⁶ And surely your sister Sodom was not mentioned by your mouth in the days of your pride;

⁶³ that you may remember, and be ashamed, and may no more be able to open your mouth for your shame, when I am reconciled to you for all that you have done, says the Lord.

³⁰ the king answered and said, Is not this great Babylon, which I have built for a royal residence, by the might of my power, for the honor of my glory? ³¹ While the word was yet in the king's mouth, there came a voice from heaven, saying, King Nebuchadnezzar, to you it is spoken, The kingdom has departed from you.

⁴ They drank wine, and praised the gods of gold, and of silver, and of brass, and of iron, and of wood, and of stone.

²⁰ But when his heart was lifted up, and his spirit was emboldened to act proudly, he was deposed from his royal throne, and his honor was taken from him. ²¹ And he was driven forth from men. And a heart was given to him after the nature of wild beasts, and his dwelling was with the wild donkeys. And they fed him with grass like an ox, and his body was bathed with the dew of heaven, until he knew that the Most High God is Lord of the kingdom of men, and will give it to whomever He chooses. ²² And you accordingly, his son, O Belshazzar, have not humbled your heart before God: do you not know all this? ²³ And you have exalted yourself against the Lord God of heaven; and they have brought before you the vessels of His house, and you, your nobles, your mistresses, and your concubines have drunk wine out of them; and you have praised the gods of gold, silver, brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, and which hear not, and know not: and the God who holds your breath in His hand and owns all your ways, you have not glorified. ²⁴ Therefore from His presence has been sent forth the finger of a hand, and He has ordered the writing.

²⁵ At that time Jesus answered and said, "I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent, and have revealed them to babes.

²⁴ The God who made the world and all the things in it, Him being Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in sanctuaries made by human hands,

⁶ But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble." ⁷ Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

⁹ But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God's own possession, that you may proclaim the excellent virtues of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; ¹⁰ who formerly were not a people but now are the people of God, who had not received mercy, but now have received mercy.

⁵ Likewise, younger people, subject yourselves to the elders. And all of you be subject to one another, and be clothed with humility, because "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble." ⁶ Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time,

³ And they sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying: "Great and marvelous are Your works, Lord God Almighty! Righteous and true are Your ways, O King of the nations!

¹ After these things I heard as it were a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, "Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God! ² For true and righteous are His judgments, for He has judged the great harlot who corrupted the earth with her fornication; and He has avenged the blood of His servants shed by her hand."
