³ And He stretched forth the likeness of a hand, and took me by the crown of my head. And the Spirit lifted me up between the earth and sky, and brought me to Jerusalem in a vision of God, to the porch of the gate that looks to the north, where was the pillar of the Purchaser.

⁵ You shall not bow down to them, nor serve them; for I am the Lord your God, a jealous God, recompensing the sins of the fathers upon the children, to the third and fourth generation to them that hate Me,

¹⁴ For you shall not worship strange gods, for the Lord God, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God;

²⁴ For the Lord your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.

⁹ You shall not bow down to them, nor shall you serve them; for I am the Lord your God, a jealous God, visiting the sins of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generation to them that hate Me,

¹⁵ for the Lord your God in the midst of you is a jealous God, lest the Lord your God be very angry with you, and destroy you from off the face of the earth.

¹⁶ They provoked Me to anger with strange gods; with their abominations they bitterly angered Me.

²¹ They have provoked Me to jealousy by that which is not God, they have exasperated Me with their idols; and I will provoke them to jealousy with them that are not a nation, I will anger them with a nation void of understanding.

¹⁹ And Joshua said to the people, Indeed you will not be able to serve the Lord, for God is holy; and He being jealous will not forgive your sins and your transgressions.

¹² And it shall come to pass when I shall have departed from you, that the Spirit of the Lord shall carry you to a land which I know not, and I shall go in to tell the matter to Ahab, and he will not find you, and he will slay me; yet your servant fears the Lord from his youth.

¹⁶ And they said to him, Behold now, there are with your servants fifty men of strength: let them go now, and seek your master: perhaps the Spirit of the Lord has taken him up, and cast him into the Jordan, or on one of the mountains, or on one of the hills. And Elisha said, You shall not send them.

¹⁴ And he brought forward the one before the house of the Lord from between the altar and the house of the Lord, and he set it openly by the side of the altar northward.

⁷ And he set up the graven image of the grove in the house of which the Lord said to David, and to Solomon his son, In this house and in Jerusalem which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, will I even place My name forever.

⁵⁸ And they provoked Him with their high places, and moved Him to jealousy with their graven images.

³⁰ For the children of Judah have done evil before Me, says the Lord; they have set their abominations in the house which is called by My name, to defile it.

³⁴ and they set their abominations in the house which is called by My name, by their uncleannesses.

⁹ And I looked, and behold, a hand stretched out to me, and in it was a volume of a book.

¹² Then the Spirit took me up, and I heard behind me the voice as of a great earthquake, saying, Blessed be the glory of the Lord from His place.

¹⁴ And the Spirit lifted me, and took me up, and I went in the impulse of my spirit; and the hand of the Lord was mighty upon me.

¹¹ Therefore, as I live, says the Lord; surely, because you have defiled My holy things with all your abominations, I also will reject you; My eye shall not spare, and I will have no mercy.

²⁰ As for their choice ornaments, they employed them for pride, and they made of them images of their abominations; therefore have I made them uncleanness to them.

⁵ And He said to me, Son of man, lift up your eyes toward the north. So I lifted up my eyes toward the north, and behold, I looked from the north toward the eastern gate.

¹ Moreover the Spirit took me up, and brought me to the front gate of the house of the Lord, that looks eastward. And behold, at the entrance of the gate were about twenty-five men; and I saw in the midst of them Jechoniah the son of Azzur, and Pelatiah the son of Benaiah, the leaders of the people.

²⁴ And the Spirit took me up, and brought me to the land of the Chaldeans, to the captivity, in a vision by the Spirit of God: and I went up after the vision which I saw.

² in a vision of God into the land of Israel, and set me on a very high mountain, and upon it there was as it were the frame of a city before me.

⁵ In the same hour came forth fingers of a man's hand, and wrote in front of the lamp on the plaster of the wall of the king's house: and the king saw the knuckles of the hand that wrote.

¹⁰ And behold, a hand touched me, and it raised me on my knees.

¹⁸ And there touched me again as it were the appearance of a man, and he strengthened me,

³⁹ Now when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught up Philip, and the eunuch did not see him any longer; and he went on his way rejoicing.

²¹ You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons; you cannot partake of the Lord's table and of the table of demons. ²² Or do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than He?

² I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago--whether in the body I do not know, or whether out of the body I do not know, God knows--such a one was caught up to the third heaven. ³ And I know such a man--whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, God knows-- ⁴ that he was caught up into Paradise and heard unspeakable words, which it is not permitted for a man to utter.

¹⁰ I was in the Spirit on the Lord's Day, and I heard a loud voice like a trumpet behind me, ¹¹ saying, "That which you see, write in a book and send to the seven churches: to Ephesus, to Smyrna, to Pergamos, to Thyatira, to Sardis, to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea." ¹² And there I turned to see the voice which was speaking with me. And having turned I saw seven golden lampstands, ¹³ and in the midst of the seven lampstands stood One like the Son of Man, having been clothed in a robe reaching to His feet and having been girded across His chest with a golden belt. ¹⁴ And His head and His hair were white, and like white wool, like snow, and His eyes were like a flame of fire; ¹⁵ And His feet were like fine brass, as if refined in a furnace, and His voice as the sound of many waters; ¹⁶ He had in His right hand seven stars, out of His mouth proceeded a sharp two-edged sword, and His countenance was as the sun shining in its strength. ¹⁷ And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as if dead. But He put His right hand on me, saying, "Do not fear; I am the First and the Last. ¹⁸ I am He who lives, and became dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Death and of Hades. ¹⁹ Write therefore the things which you saw, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter. ²⁰ The mystery of the seven stars which you saw in My right hand, and the seven golden lampstands: The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands which you saw are the seven churches.

² Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne was set in heaven (and One sitting on the throne) ³ similar in appearance to a jasper and sardius stone, and there was a rainbow around the throne, in appearance like an emerald. ⁴ Around the throne were twenty-four thrones, and on the thrones I saw the twenty-four elders sitting, having been clothed in white robes; and on their heads were crowns of gold. ⁵ And from the throne proceeded lightnings and voices and thunders. And seven torches of fire were burning before His throne, which are seven spirits of God; ⁶ and before the throne was something like a sea of glass, similar to crystal. And in the midst of the throne, and around the throne, were four living beings full of eyes in front and in back. ⁷ The first living being was like a lion, the second living being was like a calf, the third living being had a face of a man, and the fourth living being was like a flying eagle. ⁸ And the four living beings, each one having six wings apiece, were full of eyes around and within. And they never rest day or night, saying, "Holy, holy, holy, Holy, holy, holy, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, He who was, and who is, and who is to come!" ⁹ Whenever the living beings give glory and honor and thanksgiving to Him that sits on the throne, to Him that lives forever and ever, ¹⁰ the twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and they worship Him that lives forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying: ¹¹ "You are worthy, our Lord and God, the Holy One, to receive the glory and the honor and the power; because You created all things, and by Your will they existed and they were created."
