¹ And God appeared to him by the oak of Mamre, as he sat by the door of his tent in the heat of the day. ² And he lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, three men stood before him; and having seen them, he ran to meet them from the door of his tent, and bowed himself to the ground. ³ And he said, Lord, if indeed I have found grace in Your sight, pass not by Your servant. ⁴ Let water now be brought, and let them wash your feet, and refresh yourselves under the tree. ⁵ And I will bring bread, and you shall eat, and after this you shall depart on your journey, on account of which refreshment you have turned aside to your servant. And he said, So do, as you have said. ⁶ And Abraham hastened to the tent to Sarah, and said to her, Quickly, knead three measures of fine flour, and make cakes. ⁷ And Abraham ran to the herd, and took a young calf, tender and good, and gave it to his servant, and he hastened to prepare it. ⁸ And he took butter and milk, and the calf which he had prepared; and he set them before them, and they did eat, and he stood by them under the tree. ⁹ And He said to him, Where is Sarah your wife? And he answered and said, Behold, in the tent. ¹⁰ And He said, I will return and come to you according to this period seasonably, and Sarah your wife shall have a son; and Sarah heard at the door of the tent, being behind him. ¹¹ And Abraham and Sarah were old, advanced in days, and the custom of women ceased with Sarah. ¹² And Sarah laughed in herself, saying, The thing has not as yet happened to me, even until now, and my lord is old. ¹³ And the Lord said to Abraham, Why is it that Sarah has laughed in herself, saying, Shall I then indeed bear? But I have grown old. ¹⁴ Shall anything be impossible with the Lord? At the appointed time I shall return to you, and Sarah shall have a son. ¹⁵ But Sarah denied it, saying, I did not laugh, for she was afraid. And He said to her, No, but you did laugh! ¹⁶ And the men, having risen up from there, looked towards Sodom and Gomorrah. And Abraham went with them, attending to them on their journey. ¹⁷ And the Lord said, Shall I hide from Abraham My servant what things I intend to do? ¹⁸ But Abraham shall become a great and populous nation, and in him shall all the nations of the earth be blessed. ¹⁹ For I know that he will order his sons, and his house after him, and they will keep the ways of the Lord, to do justice and judgment, that the Lord may bring upon Abraham all things whatsoever He has spoken to him. ²⁰ And the Lord said, The cry of Sodom and Gomorrah has been increased towards Me, and their sins are very great. ²¹ I will therefore go down and see, if they completely correspond with the cry which comes to Me, and if not, I will know. ²² And the men, having departed from there, came to Sodom; and the Lord stood before Abraham. ²³ And Abraham drew near and said, Would You destroy the righteous with the wicked, and shall the righteous be as the wicked? ²⁴ Should there be fifty righteous in the city, will You destroy them? Will You not spare the whole place for the sake of the fifty righteous, if they be in it? ²⁵ Far be it from You to do such at thing, so as to destroy the righteous with the wicked, so the righteous shall be as the wicked: far be it from You! Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right? ²⁶ And the Lord said, If there should be in Sodom fifty righteous in the city, I will spare the whole city, and the whole place for their sakes. ²⁷ And Abraham answered and said, Now I have begun to speak to my Lord, and I am but dust and ashes. ²⁸ But if the fifty righteous should be diminished to forty-five, will You destroy the whole city because of the five that are lacking? And He said, I will not destroy it, if I should find there forty-five. ²⁹ And he continued to speak to Him still, and said, But if there should be found there forty? And He said, I will not destroy it for the forty's sake. ³⁰ And he said, Will there be anything against me, Lord, if I shall speak? But if there be found there thirty? And He said, I will not destroy it for the thirty's sake. ³¹ And he said, Since I am able to speak to the Lord, what if there should be found there twenty? And He said, I will not destroy it, if I should find there twenty. ³² And he said, Will there be anything against me, Lord, if I speak yet once more? But if there should be found there ten? And He said, I will not destroy it for the ten's sake. ³³ And the Lord departed, when He left off speaking to Abraham, and Abraham returned to his place.

⁷ Then the Lord appeared to Abram, and said to him, I will give this land to your seed. And Abram built an altar there to the Lord who appeared to him.

¹⁸ And Abram, having removed his tent, came and dwelt by the oak of Mamre, which was in Hebron, and there he built an altar to the Lord.

¹³ And one of them that had been rescued came and told Abram the Hebrew; and he dwelt by the oak of Mamre the Amorite, the brother of Eschol, and the brother of Aner, who were confederates with Abram.

¹ And after these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram, I am your shield. Your reward shall be very great.

¹ When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, I am your God, be well-pleasing before Me, and be blameless. ² And I will establish My covenant between Me and you, and I will multiply you exceedingly. ³ And Abram fell upon his face, and God spoke to him, saying,

²² And He left off speaking with him, and God went up from Abraham.

² And the Lord appeared to him and said, Do not go down to Egypt, but dwell in the land which I shall tell you of.

³ And Jacob said to Joseph, My God appeared to me in Luz, in the land of Canaan, and blessed me,

¹ And Moses answered and said, If they do not believe me, and do not listen to my voice (for they will say, God has not appeared to you), what shall I say to them?

⁷ In that night God appeared to Solomon, and said to him, Ask what I shall give you.

² And he said, "Men, brothers and fathers, listen: The God of glory appeared to our father Abraham when he was in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Haran,

¹⁶ And the men, having risen up from there, looked towards Sodom and Gomorrah. And Abraham went with them, attending to them on their journey.

²² And the men, having departed from there, came to Sodom; and the Lord stood before Abraham.

¹ And the two angels came to Sodom at evening. And Lot sat by the gate of Sodom. And Lot, having seen them, rose up to meet them, and he worshipped with his face to the ground, and said,

⁷ And Abraham rose up and bowed himself to the people of the land, to the sons of Heth.

²⁴ And Jacob was left alone; and a Man wrestled with him till the morning.

³ But he advanced himself before them, and bowed himself to the ground seven times, until he drew near to his brother. ⁴ And Esau ran on to meet him, and embraced him, and fell on his neck, and kissed him; and they both wept. ⁵ And Esau looked up and saw the women and the children, and said, What are these to you? And he said, The children with which God has mercifully blessed your servant. ⁶ And the maidservants and their children drew near and bowed down. ⁷ And Leah and her children drew near and bowed down; and after Rachel and Joseph drew near, and bowed down.

²⁶ And Joseph entered into the house, and they brought him the gifts which they had in their hands, into the house; and they bowed down before him with their faces to the ground.

²⁸ And they said, Your servant our father is well; he is still alive. And he said, Blessed be that man by God — and they bowed, and prostrated themselves.

¹⁴ And Judah and his brothers came in to Joseph, while he was yet there, and fell on the ground before him.

¹³ And it came to pass when Joshua was in Jericho, that he looked up with his eyes and saw a Man standing before him, and there was a drawn sword in His hand. And Joshua drew near and said to Him, Are You for us, or for our enemies?

³ And the Angel of the Lord appeared to the woman, and said to her, Behold, you are barren and have not given birth; yet you shall conceive a son.

⁶ And the woman went in, and spoke to her husband, saying, A Man of God came to me, and His appearance was as of an angel of God, very fearful. And I did not ask Him where He was from, and He did not tell me His name. ⁷ And He said to me, Behold, you are with child, and shall bring forth a son; and now drink no wine nor strong drink, and eat no unclean thing; for the child shall be holy to God from the womb until the day of his death. ⁸ And Manoah prayed to the Lord and said, I pray to You, O Lord my lord, concerning the Man of God whom You sent; let Him now come to us once more, and teach us what we shall do with the child about to be born. ⁹ And the Lord heard the voice of Manoah, and the Angel of God came yet again to the woman. And she sat in the field, and Manoah her husband was not with her. ¹⁰ And the woman made haste and ran, and brought word to her husband, and said to him, Behold the Man who came in the other day to me has appeared to me. ¹¹ And Manoah arose and followed his wife, and came to the Man, and said to Him, Are you the Man that spoke to the woman? And the Angel said, I am.

¹⁰ And she fell upon her face, and bowed down to the ground, and said to him, How is it that I have found grace in your eyes, that you should take notice of me, seeing that I am a stranger?

¹⁵ And the sons of the prophets who were in Jericho on the opposite side saw him, and said, The spirit of Elijah has rested upon Elisha. And they came to meet him, and bowed down before him to the ground.

¹³ sharing in the needs of the saints, pursuing hospitality.

² Do not forget hospitality, for through this some have unwittingly entertained angels.

⁹ Be hospitable to one another without grumbling.

⁵ And there were born to me oxen, donkeys, sheep, male and female servants; and I sent to tell my lord Esau, that your servant might find grace in your sight.

² Lo! My lords, turn aside to the house of your servant, and rest from your journey, and wash your feet, and having risen early in the morning you shall depart on your journey. And they said, No, but we will lodge in the street.

³² And the man entered into the house, and unloaded the camels, and gave the camels straw and feed, and water to wash his feet, and the feet of the men that were with him.

²⁴ And he brought water to wash their feet; and gave feed to their donkeys.

⁴¹ And she arose, and bowed down with her face to the earth, and said, Behold, your servant is for a handmaid, to wash the feet of your servants.

⁴⁴ And turning to the woman, He said to Simon, "Do you see this woman? I entered into your house; you gave Me no water for My feet, but this woman has washed My feet with her tears and wiped them with the hair of her head.

⁵ Then He poured water into a basin and began to wash the feet of the disciples, and to dry them with the towel with which He was girded. ⁶ Then He came to Simon Peter. And Peter said to Him, "Lord, do You wash my feet?" ⁷ Jesus answered and said to him, "What I am doing you do not understand now, but you shall know after this." ⁸ Peter said to Him, "You shall never wash my feet!" Jesus answered him, "Unless I wash you, you have no part with Me." ⁹ Simon Peter said to Him, "Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head!" ¹⁰ Jesus said to him, "He that is bathed need only to wash his feet, but is completely clean; and you are clean, but not all of you." ¹¹ For He knew who would betray Him; therefore He said, "You are not all clean." ¹² So when He had washed their feet, and had taken His garments, He reclined again, and said to them, "Do you know what I have done to you? ¹³ You call me Teacher and Lord, and you say correctly, for so I am. ¹⁴ Therefore if I, your Lord and your Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet. ¹⁵ For I gave you an example, that just as I did to you, you also should do.

¹⁰ having a reputation for good works, if she has brought up children, if she has lodged strangers, if she has washed the saints' feet, if she has relieved the afflicted, if she has diligently followed every good work.

⁸ But I have two daughters, who have not known a man. I will bring them out to you, and use them as it may please you, only do no injury to these men, since this is the reason they have come under the shelter of my roof.

¹⁰ And Jacob said, If I have found grace in your sight, receive the gifts through my hands; therefore have I seen your face, as if anyone should see the face of God, and you shall be well-pleased with me.

¹⁸ do not depart from here until I come to You, and I will bring forth an offering and offer it before You. And He said, I will remain until you return.

¹⁵ And Manoah said to the Angel of the Lord, Let us detain You here, and prepare before You a young goat.

⁵ And it came to pass on the fourth day that they rose early, and he stood up to depart. And the father of the young woman said to his son-in-law, Strengthen your heart with a morsel of bread, and afterwards you shall go.

¹⁵ and wine makes glad the heart of man, to make his face cheerful with oil; and bread strengthens man's heart.

¹ Behold now, the Lord, the Lord of hosts, will take away from Jerusalem and from Judah the mighty man and mighty woman, the strength of bread, and the strength of water,

¹¹ Give us today our daily bread.

⁸ But the godly have devised wise measures, and this counsel shall stand.

³³ Another parable He spoke to them: "The kingdom of heaven is like leaven, which a woman took and mixed in with three measures of meal, until the whole was leavened."

³⁸ Now it came to pass as they traveled, that He entered into a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house. ³⁹ And the woman had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus' feet and was listening to His word. ⁴⁰ But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, "Lord, don't You care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me."

¹⁵ And when she and her household were baptized, she urged us, saying, "If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come to my house and stay." So she persuaded us.

¹³ For you, brothers were called to freedom; only do not use freedom for an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.

³ And he constrained them, and they turned aside to him, and they entered into his house, and he made a feast for them, and baked unleavened cakes for them, and they did eat.

¹⁵ And Manoah said to the Angel of the Lord, Let us detain You here, and prepare before You a young goat. ¹⁶ And the Angel of the Lord said to Manoah, If you should detain Me, I will not eat of your bread; and if you would offer a whole burnt offering, you shall offer it to the Lord: for Manoah knew not that He was the Angel of the Lord.

⁴ who sleep upon beds of ivory, and live delicately on their couches, and eat kids out of the flocks, and calves out of the midst of the stalls;

¹⁴ And cursed is the man who had the power, and possessed a male in his flock, and whose vow is upon him, and who sacrifices a corrupt thing to the Lord: for I am a great King, says the Lord Almighty, and My name is glorious among the nations.

⁴ Again, he sent out other servants, saying, 'Say to those who are invited, "See, I have prepared my dinner; my oxen and fatted cattle are killed, and all things are ready. Come to the wedding." '

²³ And bring the fatted calf here and slaughter it, and let us eat and be merry;

²⁷ And he said to him, 'Your brother has come, and because he has received him back in good health, your father has killed the fatted calf.'

³⁰ But when this son of yours came, who has devoured your livelihood with prostitutes, you slaughtered the fatted calf for him.'

¹⁴ Butter of cows, and milk of sheep, with the fat of lambs and rams, of calves and kids, with fat of kidneys of wheat; and he drank wine, the blood of the grape.

²⁵ He asked for water, she gave him milk in a dish; she brought butter of princes.

⁴⁴ And in that day they appointed men over the treasuries, for the treasures, the firstfruits, and the tithes, and for the chiefs of the cities who were assembled among them, to furnish portions for the priests and Levites; for there was joy in Judah over the priests and over the Levites that waited.

³⁷ Blessed are those servants whom the master, when he comes, will find watching. Assuredly I say to you, that he will gird himself and have them recline to eat, and he will come and serve them.

⁸ But will he not say to him, 'Prepare something that I may dine, and gird yourself and serve me until I eat and drink, and afterward you will eat and drink'?

³⁰ Now it came to pass, as He was reclining to eat with them, having taken bread, He blessed and broke it, and He gave it to them.

⁴³ And taking it, He ate it in their presence.

² Then they made for Him a supper there; and Martha was serving, but Lazarus was one of those reclining to eat with Him.

⁴¹ not to all the people, but to witnesses, who having been chosen beforehand by God, even to us, who ate together and drank together with Him after He arose from the dead.

²⁰ Behold, I stand at the door and I am knocking. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, then I will come in to him and I will dine with him, and he with Me.

⁹ And the Lord God said to Cain, Where is Abel your brother? And he said, I do not know — am I my brother's keeper?

⁶⁷ And Isaac went into the house of his mother, and took Rebecca, and she became his wife, and he loved her; and Isaac was comforted over Sarah his mother.

³³ And Laban went in and searched in the house of Leah, and did not found them; and he went out of the house of Leah, and searched in the house of Jacob, and in the house of the two maid-servants, and did not found them; and he went also into the house of Rachel.

⁵ temperate, pure, homemakers, good, submitting to their own husbands, lest the word of God be blasphemed.

¹⁰ And the Angel of the Lord said to her, I will surely multiply your seed, so that they shall not be numbered for multitude.

¹⁶ And I will bless her, and give you a son by her, and I will bless him, and he shall become nations, and kings of nations shall be of him.

¹⁹ And God said to Abraham, Yea, behold, Sarah your wife shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac; and I will establish My covenant with him, for an everlasting covenant, to be a God to him and to his seed after him.

²¹ But I will establish My covenant with Isaac, whom Sarah shall bear to you at this time, in the next year.

¹³ And the Lord said to Abraham, Why is it that Sarah has laughed in herself, saying, Shall I then indeed bear? But I have grown old. ¹⁴ Shall anything be impossible with the Lord? At the appointed time I shall return to you, and Sarah shall have a son.

² And she conceived and bore to Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time according as the Lord spoke to him.

¹⁵ Then the Angel of the Lord called Abraham the second time out of heaven, saying, ¹⁶ I have sworn by Myself, says the Lord, because you have done this thing, and on My account have not spared your beloved son,

³ And the Angel of the Lord appeared to the woman, and said to her, Behold, you are barren and have not given birth; yet you shall conceive a son. ⁴ And now be very cautious, and drink no wine nor strong drink, and eat no unclean thing; ⁵ for behold, you are with child, and shall bring forth a son; and there shall come no razor upon his head, for the child shall be a Nazarite to God from the womb; and he shall begin to save Israel from the hand of the Philistines.

¹⁶ And Elisha said to her, At this time next year, as the season is, you shall be alive, and embrace a son. And she said, No, my lord, do not lie to your servant. ¹⁷ And the woman conceived, and bore a son at the very time, as the season was, being alive, as Elisha said to her.

¹³ But the angel said to him, "Do not be afraid, Zacharias, because your prayer has been heard; and your wife Elizabeth will bear a son to you, and you shall call his name John.

⁸ That is, those who are the children of the flesh, are not the children of God; but the children of the promise are counted for the seed. ⁹ For this is the word of promise: "At this time I will come and Sarah shall have a son."

²³ But he who was of the servant girl was born according to the flesh, and he of the free woman through the promise,

²⁸ But we, brothers, like Isaac, are children of promise.

¹⁷ And Abraham fell upon his face and laughed; and said in his heart, Shall there be a child to one who is a hundred years old, and shall Sarah, who is ninety years old, bear a child?

²⁴ And Abraham was ninety-nine years old, when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin.

³⁵ And she said to her father, Be not indignant, Sir; I cannot rise up before you, for it is with me according to the manner of women. Laban searched in all the house, and did not find the images.

¹⁹ And the woman whosoever shall have an issue of blood, when her issue shall be in her body, shall be seven days in her separation; everyone that touches her shall be unclean until evening.

⁷ But they had no children, because Elizabeth was barren, and they were both well advanced in years.

¹⁸ And Zacharias said to the angel, "How shall I know this? For I am an old man, and my wife is well advanced in years."

³⁶ And behold, Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for she who was called barren.

¹⁸ who, contrary to hope, on hope believed, so that he should become a father of many nations, according to what was spoken, "So shall your descendants be." ¹⁹ And not weakening in faith, he did not consider his own body, already having been worn out (being about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah's womb, ²⁰ he did not waver at the promise of God in unbelief, but was empowered by faith, giving glory to God, ²¹ and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to do.

¹¹ By faith Sarah herself also received power for conception of seed, and she bore a child past the normal age, because she regarded Him faithful who had promised. ¹² Therefore even from one man they were begotten, and him as good as dead, just as the stars of the sky in multitude, and innumerable as the sand by the seashore.

¹⁹ considering that even from the dead, God was able to raise him up, from which he also received him in a figurative sense.

¹³ And the Lord said to Abraham, Why is it that Sarah has laughed in herself, saying, Shall I then indeed bear? But I have grown old.

⁶ And Sarah said, The Lord has made laughter for me, for whoever shall hear shall rejoice with me. ⁷ And she said, Who shall say to Abraham that Sarah suckles a child? For I have born a child in my old age.

² Then was our mouth filled with joy, and our tongue with exaltation; then would they say among the Gentiles, The Lord has done great things among them.

¹⁸ And Zacharias said to the angel, "How shall I know this? For I am an old man, and my wife is well advanced in years." ¹⁹ And the angel answered and said to him, "I am Gabriel, who stands before God, and I was sent to speak to you and to proclaim the good news to you of these things. ²⁰ But behold, you shall be silent and not able to speak until the day these things take place, because you did not believe my words which shall be fulfilled in their season."

³⁴ Then Mary said to the angel, "How can this be, since I do not know a man?" ³⁵ And the angel answered and said to her, "The Holy Spirit shall come upon you, and the power of the Most High shall overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy Baby which is to be born shall be called the Son of God.

³³ Nevertheless you also individually, let each one love his own wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respect her husband.

⁶ as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord, of whom you became children, when you do good and are not afraid of any terror.

²⁵ and had no need that anyone should testify concerning man, for He himself knew what was in man.

¹⁰ And He said, I will return and come to you according to this period seasonably, and Sarah your wife shall have a son; and Sarah heard at the door of the tent, being behind him.

²³ And the Lord said to Moses, Shall not the hand of the Lord be fully sufficient? Now shall you know whether My word shall come to pass to you or not.

²¹ You shall not be wounded before them, because the Lord your God in the midst of you is a great and powerful God.

³ then the Lord shall heal your iniquities, and shall pity you, and shall again gather you out from all the nations, among which the Lord has scattered you.

⁶ And Jonathan said to the young man that bore his armor, Come, let us go over to the garrison of these uncircumcised; perhaps the Lord may do something for us; for nothing restrains the Lord from saving by many or by few.

¹⁶ And Elisha said to her, At this time next year, as the season is, you shall be alive, and embrace a son. And she said, No, my lord, do not lie to your servant.

¹ Then Elisha said, Hear the word of the Lord; Thus says the Lord: As at this time tomorrow a measure of fine flour shall be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gates of Samaria. ² And the officer on whose hand the king rested answered Elisha and said, Behold, if the Lord would make floodgates in heaven, might this thing be? And Elisha said, Behold, you shall see with your eyes, but shall not eat thereof.

⁵ But know that the Lord will not cast off an innocent man: being mighty in strength of wisdom,

² I know that You can do all things, and nothing is impossible with You.

¹³ Return, O Lord! How long? And have compassion concerning Your servants.

¹ For the day before the Sabbath, when the land was first inhabited, the praise of a Song by David. The Lord reigns; He has clothed Himself with honor; the Lord has clothed and girded Himself with strength; for He has established the world, which shall not be moved.

³ For the Lord is a great God, and a great King over all gods; for the Lord will not cast off His people.

¹⁷ O great Lord! You have made the heaven and the earth by Your great power, and with Your high and lofty arm; nothing can be hidden from You.

²⁷ I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: shall anything be hidden from Me?

¹⁸ Who is a God like You, canceling iniquities, and passing over the sins of the remnant of His inheritance? And He has not kept His anger for a testimony, for He delights in mercy.

⁶ Thus says the Lord Almighty; If it shall be impossible in the sight of the remnant of this people in those days, shall it also be impossible in My sight? Says the Lord Almighty.

⁹ and do not think to say among yourselves, 'We have Abraham as our father.' For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham out of these stones.

³¹ And immediately, Jesus reaching out His hand, laid hold of him, and said to him, "O you of little faith, why did you doubt?"

²⁶ And looking on them, Jesus said to them, "With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."

²⁷ But looking at them Jesus said, "With men it is impossible, but not with God; for all things are possible with God."

³⁷ For with God nothing shall be impossible."

⁵⁰ But when Jesus heard it, He answered him, saying, "Do not be afraid; only believe, and she will be healed."

²¹ and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to do.

²⁰ Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly more than all the things which we ask or think, according to the power which is working in us, ²¹ who will transform our lowly body, that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subject all things to Himself.

¹³ I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

¹³ Say, therefore, I am his sister, that it may be well with me on account of you, and my soul shall live because of you.

¹⁰ But he looked at her, and said to her, You have spoken like one of the foolish women. If we have received good things of the hand of the Lord, shall we not endure evil things? In all these things that happened to him, Job sinned not with his lips before God.

²¹ for He knows the secrets of the heart.

¹⁹ True lips establish testimony, but a hasty witness has an unjust tongue.

¹³ He that covers his own ungodliness shall not prosper, but he that blames himself shall be loved.

⁸ And immediately, when Jesus recognized in His spirit that they were reasoning thus among themselves, He said to them, "Why are you reasoning these things in your hearts?

¹⁷ Then the servant girl who kept the door said to Peter, "You are not also one of this Man's disciples, are you?" He said, "I am not."

²⁵ Now Simon Peter was standing and warming himself. Therefore they said to him, "You are not also one of His disciples, are you?" Then he denied it and said, "I am not!" ²⁶ One of the servants of the high priest, a relative of him whose ear Peter cut off, said, "Did I not see you in the garden with Him?" ²⁷ Peter then denied again; and immediately a rooster crowed.

¹⁹ Now we know that as many things as the law says, it speaks to those under the law, so that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.

²³ and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind,

⁹ Do not lie to one another, since you have stripped off the old man with his practices,

⁸ If we claim that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

³ Therefore, being sent forth by the church, they were passing through Phoenicia and Samaria, telling in detail about the conversion of the Gentiles; and they were causing great joy to all the brothers.

³⁸ feeling pain most of all for the words which he said, that they were about to see his face no more. And they accompanied him to the ship.

⁵ But when it came about that we had completed the days there, having gone out we departed, all of them accompanying us, together with their wives and children, until we were outside the city. And having bowed our knees on the shore, we prayed.

²⁴ whenever I travel to Spain, I shall come to you. For I hope while traveling through to see you, and to be sent forward there by you, if I may be filled in part from you first.

⁶ who gave testimony concerning your love before the church, with reference to whom you will do well if you send them forth in a manner worthy of God,

²⁴ And the Lord rained on Sodom and Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the Lord out of heaven.

²⁷ And she came to Elisha to the mountain, and laid hold of his feet; and Gehazi drew near to thrust her away. And Elisha said, Let her alone, for her soul is much grieved in her, and the Lord has hidden it from me, and has not told it to me.

⁷ Are not You the Lord that destroyed the inhabitants of this land before the face of Your people Israel, and gave it to Your beloved seed of Abraham forever?

¹⁴ The Lord is the strength of them that fear Him; and His covenant is to manifest truth to them.

⁷ For the Lord God will do nothing without revealing instruction to His servants the prophets.

¹⁵ No longer do I call you servants, because a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, because all things which I heard from My Father I have made known to you.

²³ And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, "Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness." And he was called a friend of God.

² And I will make you a great nation, and I will bless you and magnify your name, and you shall be blessed. ³ And I will bless those that bless you, and curse those that curse you, and in you shall all the tribes of the earth be blessed.

¹⁷ surely blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your seed as the stars of heaven, and as the sand which is by the shore of the sea, and your seed shall inherit the cities of their enemies. ¹⁸ And in your seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.

⁴ And I will multiply your seed as the stars of heaven; and I will give to your seed all this land, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in your seed.

¹⁷ Let His name be blessed forever; His name shall endure longer than the sun, and all the tribes of the earth shall be blessed in Him: all nations shall call Him blessed.

²⁵ You are sons of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying to Abraham, 'And in your offspring all the families of the earth shall be blessed.' ²⁶ To you first, God, having raised up His Servant Jesus, sent Him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from your iniquities."

⁸ And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying that, "In you all the nations shall be blessed."

¹⁴ so that the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

³ Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenlies in Christ,

²³ And Abraham took Ishmael his son, and all his home-born servants, and all those bought with money, and every male of the men in the house of Abraham, and he circumcised their foreskins in the time of that day, according as God spoke to him. ²⁴ And Abraham was ninety-nine years old, when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin. ²⁵ And Ishmael his son was thirteen years old when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin. ²⁶ And at the period of that day, Abraham was circumcised, and Ishmael his son, ²⁷ and all the men of his house, both those born in the house, and those bought with money of foreign nations.

⁹ Take heed to yourself, and keep your heart diligently: forget not any of the things, which your eyes have seen, and let them not depart from your heart all the days of your life; and you shall teach your sons and your sons' sons, ¹⁰ even the things that happened in the day in which you stood before the Lord our God in Horeb in the day of the assembly; for the Lord said to me, Gather the people to Me, and let them hear My words, that they may learn to fear Me all the days which they live upon the earth, and they shall teach their sons.

⁶ And these words, all that I command you this day, shall be in your heart and in your soul. ⁷ And you shall teach them to your children, and you shall speak of them sitting in the house, and walking by the way, and lying down, and rising up.

¹⁹ And you shall teach them to your children, so as to speak about them when you sit in the house, and when you walk by the way, and when you sleep, and when you rise up. ²⁰ And you shall write them on the doorposts of your houses, and on your gates; ²¹ that your days may be long, and the days of your children, upon the land which the Lord swore to your fathers to give to them, as the days of heaven upon the earth.

⁴⁶ And he said to them, Take heed with your heart to all these words, which I testify to you this day, which you shall command your sons, to observe and do all the words of this law.

¹⁵ But if it seem not good to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods of your fathers that were on the other side of the river, or the gods of the Amorites, among whom you dwell upon their land. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord, for He is holy.

³⁰ Therefore thus says the Lord God of Israel: I said, Your house and the house of your father shall pass before Me forever: but now the Lord says, Far be it from Me; for I will only honor them that honor Me, and he that despises Me shall be despised. ³¹ Behold, the days come when I will destroy your seed, and the seed of your father's house.

²⁰ And what shall David yet say to You? And now You know Your servant, O Lord, my Lord.

⁹ And now, my son Solomon, know the God of your fathers, and serve Him with a perfect heart and a willing soul; for the Lord searches all hearts, and knows every thought: if you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you should forsake Him, He will forsake you forever.

⁵ And when the days of the banquet were completed, Job sent and purified them, having risen up in the morning, and offered sacrifices for them, according to their number, and one calf for a sin offering for their souls; for Job said, Lest perhaps my sons have thought evil, and cursed God in their minds. Thus, then Job did continually. ⁶ For the Lord knows the way of the righteous; but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

⁴ The Lord is in His holy temple; as for the Lord, His throne is in heaven: His eyes look upon the poor, His eyelids test the sons of men.

¹⁵ The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their prayer;

² I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter dark sayings which have been from the beginning. ³ All which we have heard and known, and our fathers have declared to us. ⁴ They were not hid from their children to a second generation; the fathers declaring the praises of the Lord, and His mighty acts, and His wonders which He has done. ⁵ And He raised up a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which He commanded our fathers, to make it known to their children; ⁶ that another generation might know, even the sons which should be born; and they should arise and declare them to their children. ⁷ That they might set their hope on God, and not forget the works of God, but diligently seek His commandments. ⁸ That they should not be as their fathers, a perverse and provoking generation; a generation which set not its heart aright, and its spirit was not steadfast with God. ⁹ The children of Ephraim, bending and shooting with the bow, turned back in the day of battle.

²⁰ My son, keep the laws of your father, and do not reject the ordinances of your mother: ²¹ but bind them upon your soul continually, and hang them as a chain about your neck. ²² Whenever you walk, lead this along and let it be with you, that it may talk with you when you wake.

¹⁹ The living shall bless You, as I also do; for from this day shall I beget children, who shall declare Your righteousness,

² You especially have I known out of all the families of the earth: therefore will I take vengeance upon you for all your sins.

¹⁴ I am the good shepherd; and I know My own, and I am known by My own.

¹⁷ He said to him the third time, "Simon, son of Jonah, do you care for Me?" Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, "Do you care for Me?" And he said to Him, "Lord, You know all things; You know that I care for You." Jesus said to him, "Feed My sheep.

²³ For there stood by me this night an angel of the God to whom I belong, whom also I serve, ²⁴ saying, 'Do not be afraid, Paul; for it is necessary for you to stand before Caesar; and behold, God has granted you all those sailing with you.'

³¹ Paul said to the centurion and the soldiers, "If these men do not remain in the ship, you cannot be saved."

⁴ And fathers, do not provoke your children, but bring them up in the discipline and admonition of the Lord.

¹⁰ And the Lord said, What have you done? The voice of your brother's blood cries out to Me from the ground.

¹³ But the men of Sodom were evil, and exceedingly sinful before God.

¹³ For we are going to destroy this place; for their cry has been raised up before the Lord, and the Lord has sent us to destroy it.

⁹ Wherefore now their glory has been brought low, and the shame of their countenance has withstood them, and they have proclaimed their sin as Sodom, and made it manifest.

⁷ For the vineyard of the Lord of hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah His beloved plant; I expected it to bring forth judgment, and it brought forth iniquity; and not righteousness, but a cry.

⁷ Our sins have risen up against us. O Lord, do for us for Your name's sake; for our sins are many before You; for we have sinned against You.

⁴⁹ Moreover this was the sin of your sister Sodom — pride. She and her daughters lived in pleasure, in fullness of bread and in abundance; this belonged to her and her daughters, and they helped not the hand of the poor and needy. ⁵⁰ And they boasted, and worked iniquities before Me: so I cut them off as I saw fit.

⁴ Indeed, the wages of the laborers who reaped your fields, which were kept back by you, cry out, and the cries of the reapers have entered into the ears of the Lord of Hosts.

⁵ And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the sons of men had built.

⁷ Come, let Us go down and confound their language, that they may not understand each the voice of his neighbor.

⁸ And I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them out of that land, and to bring them into a good and wide land, into a land flowing with milk and honey, into the place of the Canaanites and the Hittites and the Amorites and the Perizzites and Girgashites and Hivites and Jebusites.

⁵ For the Lord said to the children of Israel, You are a stiff-necked people; take heed lest I bring on you another plague and destroy you: now then put off your glorious apparel, and your ornaments, and I will show you what I will do to you.

² And you shall remember all the way which the Lord your God has led you in the wilderness, that He might afflict you, and try you, and that the things in your heart might be made manifest, whether you would keep His commandments or not.

³ you shall not hearken to the words of that prophet, or the dreamer of that dream, because the Lord your God is testing you, to see whether you love your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

²² God, even God is the Lord, and even God Himself knows, and Israel shall know; if we have transgressed before the Lord by apostasy, let Him not deliver us this day.

²² Neither shall there be a place for the workers of iniquity to hide themselves.

⁸ You have set our transgressions before You; our age is in the light of Your countenance.

¹⁰ I, the Lord, search the hearts, and test the mind, to give to everyone according to his ways, and according to the fruits of his doings.

³ For behold, the Lord comes forth out of His place, and will come down, and will go upon the high places of the earth.

¹² And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will search Jerusalem with a lamp, and I will take vengeance on the men that despise the things committed to them; but they say in their hearts, The Lord will not do any good, neither will He do any evil.

¹⁵ And He said to them, "You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. Because that which is exalted among men is an abomination before God.

³ Will the Lord be unjust when He judges; or will He that has made all things pervert justice?

²⁸ But it is good for me to cleave close to God, to put my trust in the Lord; that I may proclaim all Your praises in the gates of the daughter of Zion.

²¹ And their mighty ones shall be over them, and their prince shall proceed of themselves; and I will gather them, and they shall return to Me; for who is this that has set his heart to return to Me? Says the Lord.

⁵ But if our unrighteousness demonstrates the righteousness of God, what shall we say? Surely God, the One inflicting wrath is not unrighteous, is He? (I speak as a man.) ⁶ Certainly not! For otherwise how shall God judge the world?

²² let us approach with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies having been washed with clean water.

¹⁷ Elijah was a man of similar nature to us, and with a prayer, he prayed earnestly for it not to rain, and it did not rain upon the land for three years and six months.

³² And he said, Will there be anything against me, Lord, if I speak yet once more? But if there should be found there ten? And He said, I will not destroy it for the ten's sake.

⁹ And if the Lord of Sabaoth had not left us a seed, we would have become like Sodom, and been made like Gomorrah.

¹ Run about in the streets of Jerusalem and see, and know, and seek in her broad places, if you can find one, if there is anyone that executes judgment, and seeks faithfulness, and I will pardon them, says the Lord.

¹³ "Enter in through the narrow gate; because wide is the gate, and broad is the way which leads to destruction, and many are those who enter in through it. ¹⁴ How narrow the gate, and confined the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it!

²⁴ saying, 'Do not be afraid, Paul; for it is necessary for you to stand before Caesar; and behold, God has granted you all those sailing with you.'

⁴ As for God, His works are true, and all His ways are judgment: God is faithful, and there is no unrighteousness in Him; just and holy is the Lord.

²⁰ For the Lord will by no means reject the harmless man; but He will not receive any gift of the ungodly.

²² Wherefore I said, Wrath slays the great and mighty man. ²³ For the worthless die, but the righteous are laughed to scorn.

¹⁷ Behold then the One that hates iniquities, and that destroys the wicked, who is forever just. ¹⁸ He is ungodly that says to a king, You are a transgressor, that says to princes, O most ungodly one. ¹⁹ Such a one as would not reverence the face of an honorable man, neither knows how to give honor to the great, so as that their persons should be respected.

¹¹ And a man shall say, Verily then there is a reward for the righteous; verily there is a God that judges them in the earth.

² Be exalted, You that judge the earth; render a reward to the proud.

⁹ For He has come to judge the earth; He shall judge the world in righteousness, and the nations in uprightness.

¹⁵ I have seen all things in the days of my vanity; there is a just man perishing in his justice, and there is an ungodly man remaining in his wickedness.

¹² He that has sinned has done evil from that time, and from long beforehand. Nevertheless I know, that it is well with them that fear God, that they may fear before Him. ¹³ But it shall not be well with the ungodly, and he shall not prolong his days, which are but a shadow; forasmuch as he fears not before God.

¹⁰ Woe to their soul, for they have devised an evil counsel against themselves, saying against themselves, Let us bind the just, for he is burdensome to us; therefore shall they eat the fruits of their works. ¹¹ Woe to the transgressor! Evils shall happen to him according to the works of his hands.

¹ See how the just man has perished, and no one lays it to heart; and righteous men are taken away, and no one considers; for the righteous has been removed out of the way of injustice. ² His burial shall be in peace; he has been removed out of the way.

¹ Righteous are You, O Lord, that I may make my defense to You: yet I will speak to You of judgments. Why is it that the way of the ungodly prospers? And all that deal very treacherously are flourishing?

¹⁸ Then shall you return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, and between him that serves God, and him that serves Him not.

²² For the Father judges no one, but He has given all judgment to the Son, ²³ so that all may honor the Son even as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him. ²⁴ "Most assuredly I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. ²⁵ Most assuredly I say to you, that an hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those having heard shall live. ²⁶ For just as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have life in Himself, ²⁷ and has given Him authority to execute judgment also, because He is the Son of Man.

¹⁰ For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, in accordance with the things which he did, whether good or bad.

¹³ And yet there shall be a tenth upon it, and again it shall be for a spoil, as a terebinth tree, and as an acorn when it falls out of its husk.

²² And though the people of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant of them shall be saved.

²⁴ In that day shall Israel be third with the Egyptians and the Assyrians, blessed in the land which the Lord of hosts has blessed,

⁸ Thus says the Lord: As the new wine shall be found in the cluster, and they shall say, Destroy it not; for a blessing is in it; so will I do for the sake of him that serves Me, for his sake I will not destroy them all.

²² And unless those days were cut short, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect's sake, those days will be cut short.

⁷ And God formed the man of the dust of the earth, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul.

^{19 (3:20)} In the sweat of your face shall you eat your bread until you return to the ground out of which you were taken, for dust you are, and to dust you shall return.

³⁰ And he said, Will there be anything against me, Lord, if I shall speak? But if there be found there thirty? And He said, I will not destroy it for the thirty's sake. ³¹ And he said, Since I am able to speak to the Lord, what if there should be found there twenty? ⁶ and I said, O Lord, I am ashamed and confounded, O my God, to lift up my face to You; for our transgressions have abounded over our head, and our trespasses have increased even to heaven.

¹⁹ But as for them that dwell in houses of clay, of whom we also are formed of the same clay, He smites them like a moth.

¹⁹ And You have counted me as clay; my portion in dust and ashes.

⁶ Therefore I have counted myself vile, and have fainted: and I esteem myself dust and ashes. ⁷ And it came to pass after the Lord had spoken all these words to Job, that the Lord said to Eliphaz the Temanite, You have sinned, and your two friends, for you have not said anything true before Me, as My servant Job has. ⁸ Now then take seven bullocks, and seven rams, and go to My servant Job, and he shall offer a burnt offering for you. And My servant Job shall pray for you, for I will only accept him: for but his sake, I would have destroyed you, for you have not spoken the truth against My servant Job.

⁴ What is man, that You are mindful of him? Or the son of man, that You visit him?

³ Lord, what is man, that You are made known to him? Or the son of man, that You take account of him?

⁷ before the dust also return to the earth as it was, and the spirit return to God who gave it.

⁵ And I said, Woe is me, for I am pricked to the heart; for being a man, and having unclean lips, I dwell in the midst of a people having unclean lips; and I have seen with my eyes the King, the Lord of hosts.

⁸ And now, O Lord, You are our Father, and we are clay, all of us the work of Your hands.

⁸ When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, "Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord!"

¹ Then He spoke a parable to them, that one must always pray and not lose heart,

⁴⁷ The first man was from earth, made of dust; the second Man is the Lord from heaven. ⁴⁸ Like the man made of dust, so also are those who are made of dust; and as is the heavenly Man, so also are those who are heavenly.

¹ For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made by hand, eternal in the heavens. ² For also in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed with our habitation which is from heaven,

²⁶ And the Lord said, If there should be in Sodom fifty righteous in the city, I will spare the whole city, and the whole place for their sakes.

²⁹ And he continued to speak to Him still, and said, But if there should be found there forty? And He said, I will not destroy it for the forty's sake.

¹⁷ And now, O Lord, let Your strength be exalted, as You spoke, saying, ¹⁸ The Lord is longsuffering and merciful, and true, removing transgressions and iniquities and sins, and He shall by no means clear the guilty, visiting the sins of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generation. ¹⁹ Forgive this people their sin according to Your great mercy, as You were favorable to them from Egypt until now.

³² So they put sackcloth upon their loins, and put ropes upon their heads, and said to the king of Israel, Your servant the son of Hadad says, Let our souls live, I pray. And he said, Does he yet live? He is my brother. ³³ And the men divined, and offered drink offerings; and they caught the word out of his mouth, and said, Your brother the son of Hadad. And he said, Go in and fetch him. And the son of Hadad went out to him, and they caused him to go up to him into the chariot.

³ Oh, that I knew where I might find Him, and come to an end of the matter! ⁴ And I would plead my own cause, and He would fill my mouth with arguments.

¹⁸ through every prayer and petition, praying in every season in the Spirit, being watchful to this same thing with all perseverance and petition concerning all the saints--

¹⁶ Therefore let us come boldly to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

¹⁸ And Judah drew near him, and said, I pray, Sir, let your servant speak a word before you, and be not angry with your servant, for you are next to Pharaoh.

³⁹ And Gideon said to God, Let not Your anger be kindled with me, and I will speak yet once; I will even yet make one trial more with the fleece: let now the drought be upon the fleece only, and let there be dew on all the ground.

¹¹ All the nations of the empire know, that whoever, man or woman, shall go in to the king into the inner court uncalled, that person cannot live. Only to whomsoever the king shall stretch out his golden scepter, he shall live; and I have not been called to go into the king, for these thirty days. ¹² And Hathach reported to Mordecai all the words of Esther. ¹³ Then Mordecai said to Hathach, Go, and say to her, Esther, say not to yourself that you alone will escape in the kingdom, more than all the other Jews. ¹⁴ For if you shall refuse to heed on this occasion, help and protection will be to the Jews from another quarter; but you and your father's house will perish. And who knows if you have been made queen for this very occasion. ¹⁵ And Esther sent the man that came to her to Mordecai, saying, ¹⁶ Go and assemble the Jews that are in Susa, and fast for me, and eat not and drink not for three days, night and day. And I also and my maidens will fast, and then I will go in to the king contrary to the law, even if I must die.

^{4 (39:34)} Why do I yet plead? Being rebuked even while reproving the Lord: hearing such things, whereas I am nothing: and what shall I answer to these arguments? I will lay my hand upon my mouth.

¹² For He remembered them, in making inquisition for blood; He has not forgotten the supplication of the poor.

¹⁷ The Lord has heard the desire of the poor: Your ear has inclined to the preparation of their heart;

⁷ God is glorified in the council of the saints; great and terrible toward all that are round about Him.

⁸ For My counsels are not as your counsels, nor are My ways as your ways, says the Lord. ⁹ But as the heaven is distant from the earth, so is My way distant from your ways, and your thoughts from My mind.

²⁸ Therefore, since we are receiving an unshakable kingdom, let us have grace, through which we serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. ²⁹ For our God is a consuming fire.

²⁷ And Abraham answered and said, Now I have begun to speak to my Lord, and I am but dust and ashes.

⁷ "Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you.

¹¹ If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, by how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!

⁸ I say to you, even if he will not get up and give to him, because he is his friend, yet on account of his persistence he will get up and give him as much as he needs.

²⁰ by a new and living way which He inaugurated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, ²¹ and having a High Priest over the house of God, ²² let us approach with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies having been washed with clean water.

³⁰ And he said, Will there be anything against me, Lord, if I shall speak? But if there be found there thirty? And He said, I will not destroy it for the thirty's sake.

⁹ These are your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt. ¹⁰ Now therefore let Me alone, and I will be very angry with them and consume them, and I will make you a great nation.

¹⁴ And the Lord was prevailed upon to preserve His people.

¹³ If then I have found favor in Your sight, reveal Yourself to me, that I may evidently see You; that I may find favor in Your sight, and that I may know that this great nation is Your people. ¹⁴ And He said, I Myself will go before you, and give you rest.

⁶ And the Lord passed by before his face, and proclaimed, The Lord God, gracious and merciful, longsuffering and very compassionate, and true, ⁷ and keeping justice and mercy for thousands, taking away iniquity and unrighteousness and sins; and He will not clear the guilty; bringing the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and to the children's children, to the third and fourth generation.

⁹ and said, If I have found grace in Your sight, let my Lord go with us; for the people are stiff-necked: and You shall take away our sins and our iniquities, and we will be Yours. ¹⁰ And the Lord said to Moses, Behold, I establish a covenant with you in the presence of all your people. I will do glorious things which have not been done in all the earth, or in any nation; and all the people among you shall see the works of the Lord, that they are wonderful, which I will do with you.

¹¹ And the Lord said to Moses, How long will these people provoke Me? And how long do they refuse to believe Me for all the signs which I have done among them? ¹² I will smite them with death, and destroy them; and I will make of you and of your father's house a great nation, and much greater than this. ¹³ And Moses said to the Lord, So Egypt shall hear, for You have brought up this people from them by Your might. ¹⁴ Moreover all the inhabitants of this land have heard that You are Lord in the midst of this people, who, O Lord, are seen by them face to face, and Your cloud rests upon them, and You go before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, and by night in a pillar of fire. ¹⁵ And if You shall destroy this nation as one man; then all the nations that have heard Your name shall speak, saying, ¹⁶ Because the Lord could not bring this people into the land which He swore to them, He has overthrown them in the wilderness. ¹⁷ And now, O Lord, let Your strength be exalted, as You spoke, saying, ¹⁸ The Lord is longsuffering and merciful, and true, removing transgressions and iniquities and sins, and He shall by no means clear the guilty, visiting the sins of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generation. ¹⁹ Forgive this people their sin according to Your great mercy, as You were favorable to them from Egypt until now. ²⁰ And the Lord said to Moses, I am gracious to them according to your word.

²³ Though there should be a thousand messengers of death, not one of them shall wound him: if he should purpose in his heart to turn to the Lord, and declare to man his fault, and show his folly;

⁵ For You, O Lord, are kind and gentle, and plenteous in mercy to all that call upon You.

⁸ The sacrifices of the ungodly are an abomination to the Lord, but the prayers of them that walk honestly are acceptable to Him.

⁶ I, the Lord God, have called you in righteousness, and will hold your hand, and will strengthen you; and I have given you for the covenant of a race, for a light of the Gentiles; ⁷ to open the eyes of the blind, to bring the bound and them that sit in darkness out of bonds and the prison house.

¹⁵ And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, it will be forgiven him. ¹⁶ Confess your transgressions to one another, and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of the righteous is very powerful. ¹⁷ Elijah was a man of similar nature to us, and with a prayer, he prayed earnestly for it not to rain, and it did not rain upon the land for three years and six months.

¹⁵ And if we know that He hears us, whatever we may ask, we know that we have the requests that we have requested from Him. ¹⁶ If anyone sees his brother sinning a sin not leading to death, he shall ask, and He shall give him life for those who do not sin unto death. There is a sin leading to death. I do not say that he should ask about that.

⁵⁵ And Laban rose up in the morning, and kissed his sons and his daughters, and blessed them; and Laban, having turned back, departed to his place.

²⁶ And He said to him, Let Me go, for the day has dawned; but he said, I will not let You go, except You bless me.
