¹ And God remembered Noah, and all the wild beasts, and all the cattle, and all the birds, and all the reptiles that creep, as many as were with him in the ark, and God brought a wind upon the earth, and the water subsided. ² And the fountains of the deep were closed up, and the flood gates of heaven, and the rain from heaven was withheld. ³ And the water subsided, and went off the earth, and after one hundred and fifty days the water was diminished, and the ark rested in the seventh month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, on the mountains of Ararat. ⁴ And the water continued to decrease until the tenth month. ⁵ And in the tenth month, on the first day of the month, the heads of the mountains were seen. ⁶ And it came to pass after forty days, that Noah opened the window of the ark which he had made. ⁷ And he sent forth a raven; and it went out, and did not return until the water was dried from off the earth. ⁸ And he sent a dove after it, to see if the water had ceased from off the earth. ⁹ And the dove, not having found rest for her feet, returned to him into the ark, because the water was upon all the face of the earth, and he stretched out his hand and took her in, and brought her to himself into the ark. ¹⁰ And waiting yet another seven days, he again sent forth the dove from the ark. ¹¹ And the dove returned to him in the evening, and had a leaf of olive, a sprig in her mouth; and Noah knew that the water had ceased from off the earth. ¹² And waiting yet another seven days, he again sent forth the dove, and she did not return to him again any more. ¹³ And it came to pass in the six hundred and first year of the life of Noah, in the first month, on the first day of the month, the water subsided from off the earth, and Noah opened the covering of the ark which he had made, and he saw that the water had subsided from the face of the earth. ¹⁴ And in the second month the earth was dried, on the twenty-seventh day of the month. ¹⁵ And the Lord God spoke to Noah, saying, ¹⁶ Come out from the ark, you and your wife and your sons, and your sons' wives with you. ¹⁷ And all the wild beasts, as many as are with you, and all flesh, both of birds and beasts, and every reptile moving upon the earth, bring forth with you: be fruitful, and multiply upon the earth. ¹⁸ And Noah came forth, and his wife and his sons, and his sons' wives with him. ¹⁹ And all the wild beasts and all the cattle and every bird, and every reptile creeping upon the earth after their kind, came forth out of the ark. ²⁰ And Noah built an altar to the Lord, and took of all clean beasts, and of all clean birds, and offered a whole burnt offering upon the altar. ²¹ And the Lord God smelled an aroma of sweetness, and the Lord God having considered, said, I will never again curse the earth, because of the works of men, because the imagination of man is intently bent upon evil things from his youth, I will never again smite all living flesh as I have done. ²² All the days of the earth, seed and harvest, cold and heat, summer and spring, shall not cease by day or night.

²⁹ And it came to pass, that when God destroyed all the cities of the region round about, that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when the Lord overthrew those cities in which Lot dwelt.

²² And God remembered Rachel, and God listened to her, and He opened her womb.

²⁴ And God heard their groanings, and God remembered His covenant that He made with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

²¹ And Moses stretched forth his hand over the sea, and the Lord carried back the sea with a strong south wind all the night, and made the sea dry, and the water was divided.

³² And the Angel of the Lord said to him, Why have you struck your donkey this third time? And behold, I came out to withstand you, for your way is unseemly before Me. And when the donkey saw Me, she turned away from Me this third time.

¹⁹ And they rose early in the morning, and worshipped the Lord, and they went their way. And Elkanah went into his house at Ramathaim, and knew his wife Anna; and the Lord remembered her, and she conceived.

¹⁴ Remember me, O God, in this, and let not my kindness be forgotten which I have wrought in regard to the house of the Lord God.

²² And I told the Levites who were purifying themselves, and came and kept the gates, that they should sanctify the Sabbath day. Remember me, O God, for these things, and spare me according to the abundance of Your mercy.

²⁹ Remember them, O God, for their false connection with the priesthood, and the breaking the covenant of the priesthood, and for defiling the Levites.

³¹ And the offering of the wood-bearers was at certain set times, and in the times of the firstfruits. Remember me, O our God, for good.

¹³ Oh that You had kept me in the grave, and had hidden me until Your wrath should cease, and You should set me a time in which You would remember me!

⁶ Your righteousness is as the mountains of God, Your judgments are as a great deep; O Lord, You will preserve men and beasts.

⁷ At Your rebuke they shall flee; at the voice of Your thunder they shall be alarmed. ⁸ They go up to the mountains, and down to the plains, to the place which You founded for them. ⁹ You have set a boundary which they shall not pass, neither shall they turn again to cover the earth.

⁴ Remember us, O Lord, with the favor You have toward Your people; visit us with Your salvation;

¹ A Song of Degrees. Lord, remember David, and all his meekness:

²³ For the Lord remembered us in our low estate; for His mercy endures forever;

⁷ Remember, O Lord, the children of Edom in the day of Jerusalem; who said, Raze it, raze it, even to its foundations.

²³ The north wind raises clouds; so an impudent face provokes the tongue.

⁷ The Lord swears against the pride of Jacob, None of your works shall ever be forgotten.

¹¹ and shall not I spare Nineveh, the great city, in which dwell more than twelve myriads of human beings, who do not know their right hand or their left hand; and also much cattle?

² O Lord, I have heard Your report, and was afraid: I considered Your works, and was amazed: You shall be known between the two living creatures, You shall be acknowledged when the years draw nigh; You shall be manifested when the time is come; when my soul is troubled, You will in wrath remember mercy.

²⁰ For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but on account of Him who subjected it in hope; ²¹ because even the creation itself shall be freed from the slavery of corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God. ²² For we know that all the creation groans together and labors in birth together until now.

¹⁹ Now the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. And Babylon the great was remembered before God, to give her the cup of the wine of the rage of His wrath.

⁵ Because her sins have reached to heaven, and God has remembered her crimes.

¹¹ In the six hundredth year of the life of Noah, in the second month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, on this day all the fountains of the abyss were broken up, and the flood gates of heaven were opened.

¹¹ And if a cloud obscures what is precious to Him, His light will disperse the cloud. ¹² And He will carry round the encircling clouds by His governance, to perform their works: whatsoever He shall command them, ¹³ this has been appointed by Him on the earth, whether for correction, or for His land, or if He shall find him an object for mercy.

³⁷ And who is he that numbers the clouds in wisdom, and has bowed the heaven down to the earth?

²⁸ and when He strengthened the clouds above, and when He secured the fountains of the earth;

^{3 (2:4)} For You have cast me into the depths of the heart of the sea, and the floods compassed me: all Your billows and Your waves have passed upon me.

⁹ For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one, 'Go,' and he goes; and to another, 'Come,' and he comes; and to my servant, 'Do this,' and he does it."

²⁶ But He said to them, "Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?" Then having risen, He rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. ²⁷ So the men marveled, saying, "What kind of Man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?"

²⁴ And the water was raised over the earth one hundred and fifty days.

¹⁷ And the flood was upon the earth forty days and forty nights, and the water abounded greatly and bore up the ark, and it was lifted on high from off the earth. ¹⁸ And the water prevailed and abounded exceedingly upon the earth, and the ark was borne upon the water. ¹⁹ And the water prevailed exceedingly upon the earth, and covered all the high mountains which were under heaven.

³⁷ And it came to pass, while he was worshipping in the house of Nisrosh his god, that Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons killed him with the sword; and they escaped into the land of Ararat. And Esarhaddon his son reigned in his place.

³⁸ And while he was worshipping Nisroch his country's god in the house, Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons smote him with swords; and they escaped into Armenia; and Esarhaddon his son reigned in his place.

²⁷ Set up a standard in the land, sound the trumpet among the nations, consecrate the nations against her, raise up kings against her by Me, and for the people of Ashkenaz; set against her engines of war; bring up against her horses as a multitude of locusts.

^{16 (6:17)} You shall narrow the ark in making it, and in a cubit above you shall finish it, and the door of the ark you shall make on the side; with lower, second, and third stories you shall make it.

¹⁰ And when Daniel knew that the decree was ordered, he went into his house. And his windows were opened in his chambers toward Jerusalem, and three times in the day he knelt upon his knees, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as he used to do before.

¹⁵ and the sparrow, and the owl, and the sea-mew, and the like to it;

⁴ And it shall be that you shall drink water of the brook, and I will command the ravens to feed you there.

⁶ And the ravens brought him loaves in the morning, and flesh in the evening, and he drank water out of the brook.

⁴¹ And who has prepared food for the raven? For its young ones wander and cry to the Lord, in search of food.

⁹ and gives cattle their food, and to the young ravens that call upon Him.

¹⁰ And waiting yet another seven days, he again sent forth the dove from the ark. ¹¹ And the dove returned to him in the evening, and had a leaf of olive, a sprig in her mouth; and Noah knew that the water had ceased from off the earth. ¹² And waiting yet another seven days, he again sent forth the dove, and she did not return to him again any more.

¹⁵ Behold, you are fair, my companion; behold, you are fair; your eyes are doves.

¹¹ For behold, the winter is past, the rain is gone, it has departed. ¹² The flowers are seen in the land; the time of pruning has arrived; the voice of the turtle dove has been heard in our land.

¹⁴ You are my dove, in the shelter of the rock, near the wall: show me your face, and cause me to hear your voice; for your voice is sweet, and your countenance is beautiful.

¹⁶ "Behold, I am sending you forth like sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be as wise as serpents and innocent as doves.

⁶⁵ Moreover among those nations He will not give you quiet, neither by any means shall the sole of your foot have rest; and the Lord shall give you there another and a misgiving heart, and failing eyes, and a wasting soul.

⁷ Return to your rest, O my soul; for the Lord has dealt bountifully with you.

⁸ Who are these that fly as clouds, and as doves with young ones to Me?

¹⁶ But they that escape among them shall be delivered, and shall be upon the mountains, and I will slay all the rest, everyone for his iniquities.

²⁸ Come to Me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest.

³³ These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation; but have courage, I have overcome the world."

⁴ For yet seven days having passed I shall bring rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights, and I shall blot out every offspring which I have made from the face of all the earth.

¹⁰ And it came to pass after the seven days that the water of the flood came upon the earth.

¹² And waiting yet another seven days, he again sent forth the dove, and she did not return to him again any more.

¹ For the end, A Psalm of David. I waited patiently for the Lord; and He attended to me, and hearkened to my supplication.

¹⁷ And one shall say, I will wait for God, who has turned away His face from the house of Jacob, and I will trust in Him.

⁸ For the way of the Lord is judgment; we have hoped in Your name, and on the remembrance of You,

²⁵ But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly await it with endurance.

¹⁵ and that they should sound with trumpets in all their cities, and in Jerusalem. And Ezra said, Go forth to the mountain, and bring olive branches, and branches of cypress trees, and branches of myrtle, and branches of palm trees, and branches of every thick tree, to make booths, according to that which was written.

¹² And I asked the second time, and said to him, What are the two branches of the olive trees that are by the side of the two golden pipes that pour into and communicate with the golden oil funnels? ¹³ And he said to me, Don't you know what these are? And I said, No, my lord. ¹⁴ And he said, These are the two anointed ones that stand by the Lord of the whole earth.

¹⁵ And how shall they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written: "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, of those preaching the gospel of good things!"

² And God finished on the sixth day His works which He made, and He ceased on the seventh day from all His works which He made. ³ And God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He ceased from all His works which God began to do.

¹⁰ And waiting yet another seven days, he again sent forth the dove from the ark.

¹⁴ Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and let your heart be strengthened; yea, wait on the Lord!

⁵ for Your name's sake have I waited for You, O Lord, my soul has waited for Your word. ⁶ My soul has hoped in the Lord; from the morning watch till night.

⁹ And in that day they shall say, behold our God in whom we have trusted, and He shall save us; this is the Lord; we have waited for Him, and we have exalted, and will rejoice in our salvation.

¹⁸ And the Lord will again wait, that He may pity you, and will therefore be exalted that He may have mercy upon you; because the Lord your God is a Judge; blessed are they that wait on Him.

³ For the vision is yet for a time, and it shall shoot forth at the end, and not in vain: though he should tarry, wait for him; for he will surely come, and will not tarry.

⁷ Therefore be patient, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer awaits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient for it, until it receives the early and late rain. ⁸ You also be patient. Establish your hearts, because the coming of the Lord has drawn near.

¹³ On that very day entered Noah, Shem, Ham, Japheth, the sons of Noah, and the wife of Noah, and the three wives of his sons with him into the ark. ¹⁴ And all the wild beasts after their kind, and all cattle after their kind, and every reptile moving itself on the earth after its kind, and every flying bird after its kind,

¹ And the Lord God said to Noah, Enter therefore, you and all your family, into the ark, for I have seen that you are righteous before Me in this generation.

⁷ And then Noah, his sons, his wife, and his sons' wives, went into the ark, because of the water of the flood.

¹³ On that very day entered Noah, Shem, Ham, Japheth, the sons of Noah, and the wife of Noah, and the three wives of his sons with him into the ark.

¹⁷ And the priests that bore the ark of the covenant of the Lord stood on dry land in the midst of the Jordan; and all the children of Israel went through on dry land, until all the people had completely gone over the Jordan.

¹⁰ And the priests that bore the ark of the covenant stood in the Jordan, until Joshua had finished all that the Lord commanded him to report to the people; and the people hurried and passed over.

¹⁶ Command the priests that bear the ark of the covenant of the testimony of the Lord, to go up out of the Jordan. ¹⁷ And Joshua charged the priests, saying, Come up from the Jordan. ¹⁸ And it came to pass when the priests who bore the ark of the covenant of the Lord had come up from the midst of the Jordan, and set their feet upon the land, that the water of the Jordan returned impetuously to its place, and went as before over all its banks.

¹¹ For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways.

⁸ The Lord shall keep your coming in, and your going out, from this time forth and forever.

²⁵ And you shall know and understand, that from the going forth of the command for the answer and for the building of Jerusalem, until Christ the Prince, there shall be seven weeks, and sixty-two weeks; and then the time shall return, and the street shall be built, and the wall, and the times shall be exhausted. ²⁶ And after the sixty-two weeks, the Anointed One shall be killed, and there is no judgment in Him. And He shall destroy the city and the sanctuary with the prince that is to come: they shall be cut off with a flood, and to the end of the war which is rapidly completed He shall appoint the city to desolations.

¹¹ And you, by the blood of your covenant, have sent forth your prisoners out of the waterless pit.

²⁷ And becoming awake, the prison keeper, seeing the doors of the prison open, drawing a sword, he was about to kill himself, supposing the prisoners to have escaped. ²⁸ But Paul called out with a loud voice, saying, "Do to yourself nothing bad, for we are all here."

³⁷ But Paul said to them, "They beat us publicly, although we were uncondemned Romans, and they cast us into prison, and now do they cast us out secretly? No indeed! Let them come themselves and lead us out." ³⁸ And the officers related to the magistrates these words, and they were afraid when they heard that they were Romans. ³⁹ And coming, the appealed to them, and bringing them out, and asked them to depart from the city.

²² And God blessed them saying, Increase and multiply and fill the waters in the seas, and let the creatures that fly be multiplied on the earth.

²⁸ And God blessed them, saying, Increase and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the seas and flying creatures of heaven, and all the cattle and all the earth, and all the reptiles that creep on the earth.

¹⁴ And all the wild beasts after their kind, and all cattle after their kind, and every reptile moving itself on the earth after its kind, and every flying bird after its kind, ¹⁵ went in to Noah into the ark, pairs, male and female of all flesh in which is the breath of life.

¹ And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said to them, Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and have dominion over it.

⁷ But as for you, be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and have dominion over it.

³⁸ And He blesses them, and they multiply exceedingly, and He diminishes not the number of their cattle.

¹³ Their garners are full, and bursting with one kind of store after another; their sheep are prolific, multiplying in their streets. ¹⁴ Their oxen are fat: there is no falling down of a hedge, nor going out, nor cry in their folds.

²⁷ Therefore behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah with the seed of man, and the seed of beast. ²⁸ And it shall come to pass, that as I watched over them, to pull down, and to afflict, so will I watch over them, to build, and to plant, says the Lord.

⁴ And Abel also brought of the firstborn of his sheep and of his fatlings. And God looked upon Abel and his gifts,

² You shall take with you seven each of every clean animal, male and female, and of the unclean animals take two each, male and female.

⁷ Then the Lord appeared to Abram, and said to him, I will give this land to your seed. And Abram built an altar there to the Lord who appeared to him. ⁸ And he departed from there to the mountain east of Bethel, and there he pitched his tent in Bethel near the sea, and Ai toward the east, and there he built an altar to the Lord, and called on the name of the Lord.

⁴ to the place of the altar, which he built there at first, and Abram there called on the name of the Lord.

¹⁸ And Abram, having removed his tent, came and dwelt by the oak of Mamre, which was in Hebron, and there he built an altar to the Lord.

² And He said, Take your son, the beloved one, whom you have loved — Isaac, and go into the high land, and offer him there for a whole burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I will tell you.

⁹ came to the place which God spoke to him of; and there Abraham built the altar, and laid the wood on it, and having bound the feet of Isaac his son together, he laid him on the altar upon the wood.

²⁵ And he built an altar there, and called on the name of the Lord, and there he pitched his tent, and there the servants of Isaac dug a well in the valley of Gerar.

²⁰ And he set up an altar there, and called on the God of Israel.

¹ And God said to Jacob, Arise, go up to Bethel, and dwell there; and make there an altar to the God that appeared to you, when you fled from the face of Esau your brother.

⁷ And he built there an altar, and called the name of the place Bethel; for there God appeared to him, when he fled from the face of his brother Esau.

²⁵ And Moses said, No, but you shall give to us whole burnt offerings and sacrifices, which we will sacrifice to the Lord our God.

²⁴ You shall make to Me an altar of earth; and upon it you shall sacrifice your whole burnt offerings, and your peace offerings, and your sheep and your calves in every place, where I shall record My name; and I will come to you and bless you. ²⁵ And if you will make to Me an altar of stones, you shall not build it of hewn stones; for if you have lifted up your tool upon them, then they are defiled.

⁴ And Moses wrote all the words of the Lord; and Moses rose up early in the morning, and built an altar under the mountain, and set up twelve stones for the twelve tribes of Israel. ⁵ And he sent forth the young men of the children of Israel, and they offered whole burnt offerings, and they sacrificed young calves as a peace offering to God. ⁶ And Moses took half the blood and poured it into bowls, and half the blood he poured out upon the altar. ⁷ And he took the Book of the Covenant and read it in the ears of the people, and they said, All things whatsoever the Lord has said we will do and be obedient. ⁸ And Moses took the blood and sprinkled it upon the people, and said, Behold the blood of the covenant, which the Lord has made with you concerning all these words.

¹ And the Lord called Moses again and spoke to him out of the tabernacle of witness, saying, Speak to the children of Israel, and you shall say to them, ² If any man of you shall bring gifts to the Lord, you shall bring your gifts of the cattle and of the oxen and of the sheep. ³ If his gift be a whole burnt offering, he shall bring an unblemished male of the herd to the door of the tabernacle of witness, he shall bring it as acceptable before the Lord. ⁴ And he shall lay his hand on the head of the burnt offering as a thing acceptable for him, to make atonement for him. ⁵ And they shall slay the calf before the Lord; and the sons of Aaron the priests shall bring the blood, and they shall pour the blood round about on the altar, which is at the doors of the tabernacle of witness. ⁶ And having skinned the whole burnt offering, they shall divide it by its limbs. ⁷ And the sons of Aaron the priests shall put fire on the altar, and shall pile wood on the fire. ⁸ And the sons of Aaron the priests shall pile up the divided parts, and the head, and the fat on the wood on the fire, the wood which is on the altar. ⁹ And the entrails and the feet they shall wash in water, and the priests shall put all on the altar; it is a burnt offering, a sacrifice, an aroma of sweet savor to the Lord. ¹⁰ And if his gift be of the sheep to the Lord, or of the lambs, or of the kids for a whole burnt offering, he shall bring a male without blemish. ¹¹ And he shall lay his hand on its head; and they shall kill it by the side of the altar, toward the north before the Lord, and the sons of Aaron the priests shall pour its blood on the altar round about. ¹² And they shall divide it by its limbs, and its head and its fat, and the priests shall pile them up on the wood which is on the fire, on the altar. ¹³ And they shall wash the entrails and the feet with water, and the priest shall bring all the parts and put them on the altar: it is a burnt offering, a sacrifice, an aroma of sweet savor to the Lord. ¹⁴ And if he bring his gift, a burnt offering to the Lord, of birds, then shall he bring his gift of doves or pigeons. ¹⁵ And the priest shall bring it to the altar, and shall wring off its head; and the priest shall put it on the altar, and shall wring out the blood at the bottom of the altar. ¹⁶ And he shall take away the crop with the feathers, and shall cast it forth by the altar toward the east, to the place of the ashes. ¹⁷ And he shall break it off from the wings and shall not separate it, and the priest shall put it on the altar on the wood which is on the fire: it is a burnt offering, a sacrifice, a sweet-smelling savor to the Lord.

¹ And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying, ² Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, These are the beasts which you shall eat out of all beasts that are upon the earth. ³ Every beast parting the hoof and making divisions of two claws, and chewing the cud among beasts, these you shall eat. ⁴ But of these you shall not eat, of those that chew the cud, and of those that part the hoofs, and divide claws: the camel, because it chews the cud, but does not divide the hoof, this is unclean to you. ⁵ And the rabbit, because it chews the cud, but does not divide the hoof, this is unclean to you. ⁶ And the hare, because it does not chew the cud, and does not divide the hoof, this is unclean to you. ⁷ And the swine, because this animal divides the hoof, and makes claws of the hoof, and it does not chew the cud, is unclean to you. ⁸ You shall not eat of their flesh, and you shall not touch their carcasses; these are unclean to you. ⁹ And these are what you shall eat of all that are in the waters: all things that have fins and scales in the waters, and in the seas, and in the brooks, these you shall eat. ¹⁰ And all things which have not fins or scales in the water, or in the seas, and in the brooks, of all which the waters produce, and of every soul living in the water, are an abomination; and they shall be abominations to you. ¹¹ You shall not eat of their flesh, and you shall abhor their carcasses. ¹² And all things that have not fins or scales of those that are in the waters, these are an abomination to you. ¹³ And these are the things which you shall abhor of birds, an they shall not be eaten, they are an abomination: the eagle and the ossifrage, and the sea-eagle. ¹⁴ And the vulture, and the kite, and the like to it; ¹⁵ and the sparrow, and the owl, and the sea-mew, and the like to it; ¹⁶ and every raven, and the birds like it, and the hawk and his like, ¹⁷ and the night-raven and the cormorant and the stork, ¹⁸ and the red-bill, and the pelican, and swan, ¹⁹ and the heron, and the lapwing, and the like to it, and the hoopoe and the bat. ²⁰ And all winged creatures that creep, which go upon four feet, are abominations to you. ²¹ But these you shall eat of the creeping winged animals, which go upon four feet, which have legs above their feet, to leap with on the earth. ²² And these of them you shall eat: the caterpillar and his like, and the attacus and his like, and the cantharus and his like, and the locust and his like. ²³ Every creeping thing from among the birds, which has four feet, is an abomination to you. ²⁴ And by these you shall be defiled; everyone that touches their carcasses shall be unclean till the evening. ²⁵ And everyone that takes of their dead bodies shall wash his garments, and shall be unclean till the evening. ²⁶ And whichever among the beasts divides the hoof and makes claws, and does not chew the cud, shall be unclean to you; everyone that touches their dead bodies shall be unclean till evening. ²⁷ And everyone among all the wild beasts that moves upon its four feet, which goes on all four, is unclean to you; everyone that touches their dead bodies shall be unclean till evening. ²⁸ And he that takes of their dead bodies shall wash his garments, and shall be unclean till evening: these are unclean to you. ²⁹ And these are unclean to you of reptiles upon the earth: the weasel, the mouse, the lizard, ³⁰ the ferret, the chameleon, the evet, the newt, and the mole. ³¹ These are unclean to you of all the reptiles which are on the earth; everyone who touches their carcasses shall be unclean till evening. ³² And on whatsoever one of their dead bodies shall fall it shall be unclean; whatever wooden vessel, or garment, or skin, or sack it may be, every vessel in which work should be done, shall be dipped in water, and shall be unclean till evening; and then it shall be clean. ³³ And every earthen vessel into which one of these things shall fall, whatsoever is inside it shall be unclean, and it shall be broken. ³⁴ And all food that is eaten, on which water shall come from such a vessel, shall be unclean; and every beverage which is drunk in any such vessel shall be unclean. ³⁵ And everything on which there shall fall of their dead bodies shall be unclean; ovens and stands for jars shall be broken down: these are unclean, and they shall be unclean to you. ³⁶ Only if the water be of fountains of water, or a pool, or confluence of water, it shall be clean; but he that touches their carcasses shall be unclean. ³⁷ And if one of their carcasses should fall upon any sowing seed which shall be sown, it shall be clean. ³⁸ But if water be poured on any seed, and one of their dead bodies fall upon it, it is unclean to you. ³⁹ And if one of the cattle die, which it is lawful for you to eat, he that touches their carcasses shall be unclean till evening. ⁴⁰ And he that eats of their carcasses shall wash his garments, and be unclean till evening; and he that carries any of their carcasses shall wash his garments, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean till evening. ⁴¹ And every reptile that creeps on the earth, this shall be an abomination to you; it shall not be eaten. ⁴² And every animal that creeps on its belly, and everyone that goes on four feet continually, which abounds with feet among all the reptiles creeping upon the earth — you shall not eat it, for it is an abomination to you. ⁴³ And you shall not defile your souls with any of the reptiles that creep upon the earth, and you shall not be polluted with them, and you shall not be unclean by them. ⁴⁴ For I am the Lord your God; and you shall be sanctified, and you shall be holy, because I the Lord your God am holy; and you shall not defile your souls with any of the reptiles creeping upon the earth. ⁴⁵ For I am the Lord who brought you up out of the land of Egypt to be your God; and you shall be holy, for I the Lord am holy. ⁴⁶ This is the law concerning beasts and birds and every living creature moving in the water, and every living creature creeping on the earth; ⁴⁷ to distinguish between the unclean and the clean; and between those that bring forth alive, such as should be eaten, and those that bring forth alive, such as should not be eaten.

¹ Therefore, brothers, I exhort you through the compassions of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, well pleasing to God, which is your intelligent service.

¹⁰ We have an altar from which those who serve the tabernacle have no right to eat.

¹⁵ Therefore through Him let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, confessing to His name. ¹⁶ But do not forget the doing of good and generosity, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

⁵ you also, as living stones, are being built into a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

⁹ But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God's own possession, that you may proclaim the excellent virtues of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;

^{17 (3:18)} And to Adam He said, Because you have listened to the voice of your wife, and eaten of the tree of which I commanded you not to eat of it — of that you have eaten, cursed is the ground in your labors, in pain shall you eat of it all the days of your life.

¹² When you till the earth, then it shall not continue to give its strength to you: you shall be groaning and trembling on the earth.

²⁹ And he called his name Noah, saying, This one will cause us to cease from our works, and from the toils of our hands, and from the earth, which the Lord God has cursed.

¹¹ And I will establish My covenant with you: never again shall all flesh die by the water of the flood, and never again shall there be a flood of water to destroy all the earth. ¹² And the Lord God said to Noah, This is the sign of the covenant which I set between Me and you, and between every living creature which is with you for perpetual generations. ¹³ I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for a sign of covenant between Me and the earth. ¹⁴ And it shall be when I gather clouds upon the earth, that My rainbow shall be seen in the cloud. ¹⁵ And I shall remember My covenant, which is between Me and you, and between every living soul in all flesh, and there shall no longer be water for a deluge, so as to blot out all flesh.

¹⁸ And you shall offer the whole ram on the altar, a whole burnt offering to the Lord for a sweet-smelling aroma: it is an offering of incense to the Lord.

²⁵ And you shall take them from their hands, and shall offer them up on the altar as a whole burnt offering, for a sweet-smelling aroma before the Lord: it is an offering to the Lord.

⁹ And the entrails and the feet they shall wash in water, and the priests shall put all on the altar; it is a burnt offering, a sacrifice, an aroma of sweet savor to the Lord.

¹³ And they shall wash the entrails and the feet with water, and the priest shall bring all the parts and put them on the altar: it is a burnt offering, a sacrifice, an aroma of sweet savor to the Lord.

¹⁷ And he shall break it off from the wings and shall not separate it, and the priest shall put it on the altar on the wood which is on the fire: it is a burnt offering, a sacrifice, a sweet-smelling savor to the Lord.

³¹ And I will lay your cities waste, and I will make your sanctuaries desolate, and I will not smell the savor of your sacrifices.

⁴ For who shall be pure from uncleanness? Not even one;

¹⁴ For who, being a mortal, is such that he shall be blameless? Or who that is born of a woman, that he should be just? ¹⁵ Forasmuch as He trusts not His saints, and the heaven is not pure before Him. ¹⁶ Alas then, abominable and unclean is man, drinking unrighteousness as a draught.

⁵ For behold, I was conceived in iniquities, and in sins did my mother conceive me.

³ Sinners have gone astray from the womb; they go astray from the belly; they speak lies.

⁹ Who will boast that he has a pure heart? Or who will boldly say that he is pure from sins?

²⁰ For there is not a righteous man in the earth who will do good, and not sin.

¹⁰ How beautiful are your breasts, my sister, my spouse! How much more beautiful are your breasts than wine, and the smell of your garments than all spices! ¹¹ Your lips drop honeycomb, my spouse: honey and milk are under your tongue; and the smell of your garments is as the smell of Lebanon.

¹² Stand now with your enchantments, and with the abundance of your sorcery, which you have learned from your youth; if you can be profited.

¹⁵ these shall be your help. You have wearied yourself with traffic from your youth; every man has wandered to his own home, but you shall have no deliverance.

⁸ You have neither known, nor understood, neither from the beginning have I opened your ears; for I knew that you would surely deal treacherously, and would be called a transgressor even from the womb.

⁶ All we like sheep have gone astray; everyone has gone astray in his way; and the Lord gave Him up for our sins.

⁹ From the time of the water of Noah this is My purpose; as I swore to him at that time, saying of the earth, I will no more be angry with you, neither when you are threatened, ¹⁰ shall the mountains depart, nor shall your hills be removed; so neither shall My mercy fail you, nor shall the covenant of your peace be at all removed; for the Lord who is gracious to you has spoken it.

⁶ Behold, it is written before Me; I will not be silent until I have recompensed into their bosom,

⁶ Hearken, I pray, and hear: will they not speak thus, There is no man that repents of his wickedness, saying, What have I done? The runner has failed from his course, as a tired horse in his neighing.

⁹ The heart is deep beyond all things, and it constitutes the man, and who can know him?

¹² And they said, We will quit ourselves like men, for we will pursue our perverse ways, and we will perform each the lusts of his evil heart.

⁴¹ I will accept you with a sweet-smelling savor, when I bring you out from the nations, and take you out of the countries in which you have been dispersed; and I will be sanctified among you in the sight of the nations.

²¹ I hate, I reject your feasts, and I will not smell your grain offerings in your general assemblies. ²² Wherefore if you should bring Me your whole burnt sacrifices and grain offerings, I will not accept them, neither will I have respect to your grand peace offerings.

¹⁹ For out of the heart come forth evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies.

⁶ That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

²¹ Because, having known God, they did not glorify Him as God, or give thanks, but became vain in their reasonings, and their senseless heart was darkened.

²³ for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

⁷ Therefore the mind of the flesh is enmity against God; for it does not submit to the law of God, nor indeed can it. ⁸ And those that are in the flesh cannot please God.

¹⁵ For we are the fragrance of Christ to God among those being saved, and among those perishing.

¹ And you He made alive, being dead in transgressions and sins, ² in which you once walked according to the age of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit which is now working in the sons of disobedience, ³ among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the senses, and were by nature children of wrath, as also the rest.

² And walk in love, just as Christ also loved us and gave Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a fragrant aroma.

¹⁸ And I have all things and abound. I have been made full, having received from Epaphroditus the things sent from you, a fragrant aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God.

¹⁴ But each one is tempted by his own lusts, being drawn away and being seduced by them. ¹⁵ Then lust, when it conceives, gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.

¹ From where come wars and disputes among you? Is it not from here, from your lusts, which war in your members? ² You lust and you do not have. You murder and are jealous and you cannot obtain. You fight and make war. You do not have because you do not ask.

⁶ by which the world at that time perished, being flooded by water; ⁷ but the present heavens and earth, having been stored up by His word, are being reserved for fire until the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.

¹⁹ We know that we are from God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the evil one.

⁶ For this second year there is famine on the earth, and there are yet five years remaining, in which there is to be neither plowing, nor mowing.

²¹ Six days you shall work, but on the seventh day you shall rest. There shall be rest in seed time and in harvest.

¹⁶ The day is Yours, and the night is Yours; You have prepared the sun and the moon. ¹⁷ You have made all the borders of the earth; You have made summer and spring.

⁸ In a little wrath I turned away My face from you; but with everlasting mercy will I have compassion upon you, says the Lord that delivers you. ⁹ From the time of the water of Noah this is My purpose; as I swore to him at that time, saying of the earth, I will no more be angry with you, neither when you are threatened,

²⁴ And they have not said in their heart, Let us fear now the Lord our God, who gives us the early and latter rain, according to the season of the fulfillment of the ordinance of harvest, and has preserved it for us.

³⁵ Thus says the Lord, who gives the sun for a light by day, the moon and the stars for a light by night, and makes a roaring in the sea, so that its waves roar: the Lord Almighty is His name:

⁷ Therefore be patient, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer awaits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient for it, until it receives the early and late rain.
