² looking unto Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

⁹ Therefore my heart rejoiced and my tongue exalted; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope: ¹⁰ because You will not leave my soul in Hades, neither will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption. ¹¹ You have made known to me the ways of life; You will fill me with joy with Your countenance: at Your right hand there are delights forever.

⁶ But I am a worm, and not a man; a reproach of men, and the scorn of the people. ⁷ All that saw Me mocked Me; they spoke with their lips, they shook the head, saying, ⁸ He hoped in the Lord; let Him deliver Him, let Him save Him, because He takes pleasure in Him.

¹⁹ For You know my reproach, and my shame, and my confusion; all that afflict me are before You. ²⁰ My soul has waited for reproach and misery; and I waited for one to grieve with me, but there was none; and for one to comfort me, but I found none.

¹ A Psalm of David. The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at My right hand, until I make Your enemies Your footstool.

⁸ O Lord, You shall recompense them on my behalf: Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever: do not overlook the works of Your hands.

¹⁷ And one shall say, I will wait for God, who has turned away His face from the house of Jacob, and I will trust in Him.

¹ Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help, who trust in horses and chariots, for they are many; and in horses, which are a great multitude; and have not trusted in the Holy One of Israel, and have not sought the Lord.

²² Turn to Me, and you shall be saved, you that come from the end of the earth; I am God, and there is none other.

⁶ And He said to me, It is a great thing for you to be called My servant, to establish the tribes of Jacob, and to recover the dispersion of Israel; behold, I have given you for the covenant of a race, for a light of the Gentiles, that you should be for salvation to the end of the earth. ⁷ Thus says the Lord that delivered you, the God of Israel, Sanctify him that despises his life, him that is abhorred by the nations that are the servants of princes; kings shall behold him, and princes shall arise, and shall worship him, for the Lord's sake; for the Holy One of Israel is faithful, and I have chosen you.

⁶ I gave my back to scourges, and my cheeks to blows; and I turned not away my face from the shame of spitting; ⁷ but the Lord God became my helper; therefore I was not ashamed, but I set my face as a solid rock; and I know that I shall never be ashamed,

³ But His form was ignoble, and inferior to that of the children of men; He was a man in suffering, and acquainted with the bearing of sickness, for His face has turned from us; He was dishonored, and not esteemed.

¹⁰ The Lord also is pleased to purge Him from His stroke. If you give an offering for sin, Your soul shall see a long-lived seed; ¹¹ the Lord also is pleased to take away from the travail of His soul, to show Him light, and to form Him with understanding; to justify the just one who serves many well; and He shall bear their sins. ¹² Therefore He shall inherit many, and He shall divide the spoils of the mighty; because His soul was delivered to death; and He was numbered among the transgressors; and He bore the sins of many, and was delivered up because of their transgressions.

⁷ But I will look to the Lord; I will wait upon God my Savior: my God will hearken to me.

¹⁰ And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the Spirit of grace and compassion: and they shall look upon Me, because they have mocked Me, and they shall make lamentation for Him, as for a beloved friend, and they shall grieve intensely, as for a firstborn son.

²¹ From that time Jesus began to show to His disciples that He must go off to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and to be killed, and to be raised the third day.

¹⁸ "Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn Him to death, ¹⁹ and they will hand Him over to the Gentiles to mock and to scourge and to crucify. And the third day He shall rise again." ²⁰ Then the mother of Zebedee's sons came to Him with her sons, worshipping Him, and asking something from Him.

²⁸ just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many."

⁶⁷ Then they spat in His face, and beat Him with their fists; and they slapped Him, ⁶⁸ saying, "Prophesy to us, Christ! Who is he that struck You?"

²⁷ Then the soldiers of the governor, having taken Jesus to the Praetorium, gathered the whole garrison around Him. ²⁸ And having stripped Him, they put a scarlet robe on Him. ²⁹ When they had twisted a crown of thorns, they put it on His head, and a reed in His right hand. And kneeling before Him, they mocked Him, saying, "Hail, King of the Jews!" ³⁰ And spitting on Him, they took the reed and were striking Him on His head. ³¹ And when they had mocked Him, they stripped Him of the robe, and dressed Him in His own clothes, and led Him away in order to crucify Him. ³² And going out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name. Him they pressed into service that he might carry His cross. ³³ And coming to a place called Golgotha, that is to say, Place of a Skull, ³⁴ they gave Him sour wine mingled with gall to drink. But having tasted it, He would not drink. ³⁵ And having crucified Him, they divided His clothes among themselves, casting lots. ³⁶ And sitting down, they guarded Him there. ³⁷ And they put up over His head the crime having been written against Him: THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS. ³⁸ Then they crucified two thieves with Him, one on His right, and another on His left. ³⁹ And those passing by were blaspheming Him, shaking their heads ⁴⁰ and saying, "You who destroy the temple and build it in three days, save Yourself! If You are the Son of God, come down from the cross." ⁴¹ Likewise the chief priests also, mocking Him with the scribes and elders, and Pharisees, said, ⁴² He saved others; Himself He cannot save. If He is the King of Israel, let Him now come down from the cross, and we will believe on Him. ⁴³ He trusted in God; let Him deliver Him now if He'll have Him; for He said, 'I am the Son of God.' " ⁴⁴ Even the thieves who were crucified with Him were reviling Him with the same insult. ⁴⁵ Now from the sixth hour until the ninth hour, darkness came upon all the land. ⁴⁶ And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, "Eli, Eli, lima sabachthani?" that is, "My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?" ⁴⁷ Some of those standing by, when they heard this, said, "This Man is calling Elijah!" ⁴⁸ Immediately one of them ran and took a sponge, and filled it with sour wine and put it around a reed, and offered it to Him to drink. ⁴⁹ But the rest said, "Leave Him alone; let us see if Elijah is coming to save Him." ⁵⁰ But Jesus, again crying out with a loud voice, released His spirit.

¹² And answering He said to them, "Indeed, Elijah is coming first and restores all things. And how is it written concerning the Son of Man, that He must suffer many things and be treated with contempt?

²⁴ And immediately crying out, the father of the child said with tears, "I believe, Lord; help my unbelief!"

³⁶ And He said, "Abba, Father, all things are possible to You. Take this cup away from Me; nevertheless, not what I will, but what You will."

⁵ And the apostles said to the Lord, "Increase our faith."

¹¹ Then Herod, with his men of war, having treated Him with contempt, and having mocked Him, arrayed Him in a gorgeous robe, and sent Him back to Pilate.

³⁵ And the people stood, observing. And the rulers with them also were sneering, saying, "He saved others; let Him save Himself if He is the Christ, the elect of God." ³⁶ The soldiers also mocked Him, coming and offering Him sour wine, ³⁷ and saying, "If You are the King of the Jews, save Yourself." ³⁸ And an inscription also was written over Him, in Greek, Latin, and Hebrew letters: THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS. ³⁹ Then one of the evildoers who were hanged blasphemed Him, saying, "If You are the Christ, save Yourself and us."

²⁶ Ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into His glory?"

²⁹ The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, "Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

⁴⁰ And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day."

⁵⁶ Your father Abraham rejoiced that he should see My day, and he saw it and he was glad."

²⁴ Most assuredly I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.

²⁷ "Now My soul has been troubled, and what shall I say? 'Father, save Me from this hour'? But for this reason I came to this hour. ²⁸ Father, glorify Your name." Then a voice came out of heaven, saying, "I have both glorified it and will glorify it again."

³² And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all peoples to Myself."

³ Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands, and that He had come from God and was going to God,

³¹ When he had gone out, Jesus said, "Now the Son of Man has been glorified, and God has been glorified in Him. ³² If God has been glorified in Him, God will also glorify Him in Himself, and will glorify Him immediately.

¹ Jesus spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said: "Father, the time has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You, ² just as You have given Him authority over all flesh, so that He will give eternal life to all You have given Him. ³ And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent. ⁴ I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do.

²⁵ For David says concerning Him, "I foresaw the Lord always before Me, because He is at My right hand, that I may not be shaken. ²⁶ Therefore my heart was glad, and my tongue rejoiced; moreover my flesh also will dwell in hope.

³⁶ "Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ."

³¹ Him God has exalted to His right hand as Prince and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins.

⁴¹ Then they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing because they were counted worthy to be dishonored on behalf of the name of Jesus.

⁷ so that you come short in no gift, eagerly awaiting the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ, ⁸ who will also confirm you until the end, that you may be unimpeachable in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

¹⁶ and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, putting to death the enmity in Himself.

² And walk in love, just as Christ also loved us and gave Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a fragrant aroma.

⁶ having been persuaded of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Christ Jesus;

⁸ And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself, becoming obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. ⁹ Therefore God also has highly exalted Him, and has graciously given Him a name which is above every name, ¹⁰ that at the name of Jesus every knee may bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, ¹¹ and that every tongue may confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

²⁰ For our citizenship exists in heaven, from which also we eagerly await for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,

⁸ Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not only to me, but also to all those who have loved His appearing.

¹³ looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, ¹⁴ who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself a people as His own possession, zealous for good works.

³ who being the effulgence of His glory and the exact expression of His substance, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,

¹³ But to which of the angels has He ever said: "Sit at My right hand, till I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet"?

⁷ You made him a little lower than the angels, You crowned him with glory and honor, ⁸ You have subjected all things under his feet." For in subjecting to him all things, He left nothing not subjected to him. But now we do not yet see all things having been subjected to him. ⁹ But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, through the suffering of death, having been crowned with glory and honor, so that by the grace of God, He might taste death for everyone. ¹⁰ For it was fitting for Him, on account of whom are all things and through whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to perfect the Author of their salvation through sufferings.

⁹ And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him,

¹⁹ For the law made nothing perfect; but there is the bringing in of a better hope, through which we draw near to God.

¹ Now this is the main point of the things being said: We have such a High Priest, who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens,

²⁸ so also Christ having been offered once in order to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time apart from sin for salvation, to those eagerly waiting for Him.

⁵ Therefore, when He entered into the world, He said: "Sacrifice and offering You did not desire, but a body You have prepared for Me. ⁶ In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin You had no pleasure. ⁷ Then I said, 'Behold, I have come--In the volume of the book it is written of Me-- To do Your will, O God.' " ⁸ Earlier saying, "Sacrifice and offering, burnt offerings, and sacrifices for sin You did not desire, nor had pleasure in them" (which are offered according to the law), ⁹ then He has said, "Behold, I have come to do Your will, O God." He takes away the first in order that He may establish the second. ¹⁰ By which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. ¹¹ And every priest stands ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which are never able to take away sins. ¹² But He Himself, having offered one sacrifice for sins forever, He sat down at the right hand of God,

¹⁴ For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.

³³ in part being exposed publicly, both to reproaches and to afflictions, and in part having become partners of those treated in this way.

³⁶ Still others took a trial of mockings and scourgings, yes, and of chains and of prison.

³ For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you be weary and discouraged in your souls.

¹³ Therefore let us go out to Him, outside the camp, bearing His reproach.

¹¹ searching for who or what kind of time the Spirit of Christ in them was revealing when He testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ and the glories which were to follow:

²³ who, being verbally abused, did not return verbal insults, when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously; ²⁴ who Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, in order that having died to sins, we might live unto righteousness--by whose stripes you were healed.

¹⁸ For Christ also suffered once to atone for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring you to God, being put to death in the flesh, but made alive by the Spirit,

²² who having gone into heaven, is at the right hand of God, angels and authorities and powers being subjected to Him.

¹⁴ If you are reviled in the name of Christ, blessed are you, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. On the one hand He is blasphemed, but on the other He is glorified. ¹⁵ For let not anyone of you suffer as a murderer, or a thief, or an evildoer, or as a meddler in other people's affairs; ¹⁶ but if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be put to shame, but let him glorify God in this matter.

¹ That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have gazed upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life-- ² and the life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and we declare to you the eternal life which was with the Father and was manifested to us-- ³ that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, in order that you also may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.

²¹ keep yourselves in the love of God, anticipating the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life.

⁸ "I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "He who is and He who was and He who is to come, The Almighty."

¹¹ saying, "That which you see, write in a book and send to the seven churches: to Ephesus, to Smyrna, to Pergamos, to Thyatira, to Sardis, to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea."

¹⁷ And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as if dead. But He put His right hand on me, saying, "Do not fear; I am the First and the Last.

⁸ "And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write, 'These things says the First and the Last, who became dead, and came to life:
