² Moses My servant is dead; now then arise, go over the Jordan, you and all this people, into the land which I give them.

¹⁶ Let the Lord God of spirits and of all flesh look out for a man over this congregation, ¹⁷ who shall go out before them, and who shall come in before them, and who shall lead them out, and who shall bring them in; so the congregation of the Lord shall not be as sheep without a shepherd. ¹⁸ And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, Take to yourself Joshua the son of Nun, a man who has the Spirit in him, and you shall lay your hands upon him. ¹⁹ And you shall set him before Eleazar the priest, and you shall give him a charge before all the congregation, and you shall give a charge concerning him before them. ²⁰ And you shall put of your glory upon him, that the children of Israel may hearken to him. ²¹ And he shall stand before Eleazar the priest, and they shall ask of him before the Lord the judgment of the Urim. They shall go forth at his word, and at his word they shall come in, he and the children of Israel with one accord, and all the congregation.

²⁸ And command Joshua, and strengthen him, and encourage him; for he shall go before the face of this people, and he shall give them the inheritance of all the land which you have seen.

⁷ And Moses called Joshua, and said to him before all Israel, Be courageous and strong; for you shall go in before this people into the land which the Lord swore to your fathers to give to them, and you shall give it to them for an inheritance.

¹ And it came to pass after the death of Moses, that the Lord spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, the minister of Moses, saying,

¹¹ Go into the midst of the camp of the people, and command the people, saying, Prepare provisions; for yet three days and you shall go over this Jordan, entering in to take possession of the land, which the Lord God of your fathers gives to you.

¹ Jacob is My servant, I will help him; Israel is My elect, My soul has accepted him; I have put My Spirit upon him; he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.

⁵ And Moses indeed was faithful in all His house as a servant, for a testimony of the things which would be spoken, ⁶ but Christ as a Son over His own house, whose house we are if we hold fast the confidence and the boast of hope firm until the end.

²³ Also there were many priests, because they were prevented by death from continuing. ²⁴ But He, because He remains forever, has an unchangeable priesthood.
