16 "Behold, I am sending you forth like sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be as wise as serpents and innocent as doves. 17 But beware of men, for they will hand you over to councils and they will flog you in their synagogues. 18 And you will be brought before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them and to the nations. 19 But whenever they hand you over, do not worry how or what you should speak. For it will be given to you in that hour what you should speak; 20 for you are not the ones speaking, but the Spirit of your Father who is speaking in you. 21 Now brother will hand over brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents, and put them to death. 22 And you will be hated by all people for My name's sake. But he who endures to the end shall be saved. 23 But whenever they persecute you in this city, flee to another. For assuredly I say to you, by no means will you have gone through the cities of Israel before the Son of Man comes. 24 A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master. 25 It is enough for a disciple that he become like his teacher, and the servant like his master. But whatever is given you in that hour, speak this; for it is not you who is speaking, but the Holy Spirit. 12 Now brother will deliver up brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and will cause them to be put to death. 13 And you will be hated by all on account of My name. But he who endures to the end shall be saved.

Concerning which hope I am accused by the Jews, King Agrippa. 8 Why is it considered such an unbelievable thing by you people if God raises the dead? 9 Therefore I thought in myself that it was necessary to do many hostile things against the name of Jesus the Nazarene; 10 which also I did in Jerusalem, and many of the saints I shut up in prisons, having received authority from the chief priests; and when they were being put to death, I cast my vote against them. 11 And I punished them often in all the synagogues, and compelled them to blaspheme; and being exceedingly enraged against them, I persecuted them even as far as to foreign cities.
