¹⁸ And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth loaves and wine, and he was the priest of the Most High God.

¹⁸ And in your seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.

¹⁰ A ruler shall not fail from Judah, nor a prince from his loins, until there come the things stored up for him; and He is the expectation of nations.

² And the Lord said to Moses, Speak to Aaron your brother, and let him not come in at all times into the holy place within the veil before the mercy seat, which is upon the ark of the testimony, and he shall not die; for I will appear in a cloud on the mercy seat. ³ Thus shall Aaron enter into the holy place: with a calf of the herd for a sin-offering, and having a ram for a whole burnt offering. ⁴ And he shall put on the consecrated linen tunic, and he shall have on his flesh the linen drawers, and shall gird himself with a linen sash, and shall put on the linen cap, they are holy garments; and he shall bathe all his body in water, and shall put them on. ⁵ And he shall take of the congregation of the children of Israel two kids of the goats for a sin-offering, and one lamb for a whole burnt offering. ⁶ And Aaron shall bring the calf for his own sin-offering, and shall make atonement for himself and for his house. ⁷ And he shall take the two goats, and place them before the Lord by the door of the tabernacle of witness. ⁸ And Aaron shall cast lots upon the two goats, one lot for the Lord, and the other for the scapegoat. ⁹ And Aaron shall bring forward the goat on which the lot for the Lord fell, and shall offer him for a sin-offering. ¹⁰ And the goat upon which the lot of the scapegoat came, he shall present alive before the Lord, to make atonement upon him, so as to send him away as a scapegoat, and he shall send him into the wilderness. ¹¹ And Aaron shall bring the calf for his sin, and he shall make atonement for himself and for his house, and he shall kill the calf for his sin-offering. ¹² And he shall take his censer full of coals of fire off the altar, which is before the Lord; and he shall fill his hands with fine compound incense, and shall bring it inside the veil. ¹³ And he shall put the incense on the fire before the Lord, and the smoke of the incense shall cover the mercy seat over the tables of testimony, and he shall not die. ¹⁴ And he shall take of the blood of the calf, and sprinkle with his finger on the mercy seat eastward: before the mercy seat shall he sprinkle seven times of the blood with his finger. ¹⁵ And he shall kill the goat for the sin-offering that is for the people, before the Lord. And he shall bring in of its blood within the veil, and shall do with its blood as he did with the blood of the calf, and shall sprinkle its blood on the mercy seat, in front of the mercy seat. ¹⁶ And he shall make atonement for the sanctuary on account of the uncleanness of the children of Israel, and for their trespasses in the matter of all their sins; and thus shall he do to the tabernacle of witness established among them in the midst of their uncleanness. ¹⁷ And there shall be no man in the tabernacle of witness, when he goes in to make atonement in the holy place, until he shall have come out; and he shall make atonement for himself, and for his house, and for all the congregation of the children of Israel. ¹⁸ And he shall come forth to the altar that is before the Lord, and he shall make atonement upon it; and he shall take of the blood of the calf, and of the blood of the goat, and shall put it on the horns of the altar round about. ¹⁹ And he shall sprinkle some of the blood upon it seven times with his finger, and shall purge it, and hallow it from the uncleanness of the children of Israel.

⁸ And Moses prayed to the Lord for the people; and the Lord said to Moses, Make for yourself a serpent, and put it on a staff; and it shall come to pass that whenever a serpent shall bite a man, everyone so bitten that looks upon it shall live.

²⁵ And the congregation shall rescue the manslayer from the avenger of blood, and the congregation shall restore him to his city of refuge, where he fled for refuge; and he shall dwell there till the death of the high priest, whom they anointed with the holy oil.

¹⁵ The Lord your God shall raise up to you a Prophet from among your brethren, like me; Him shall you hear, ¹⁶ according to all the things which you desired from the Lord your God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, We will not again hear the voice of the Lord your God, and we will not anymore see this great fire, lest we die. ¹⁷ And the Lord said to me, They have spoken rightly, all that they have said to you. ¹⁸ I will raise up to them a Prophet from among their brethren, like you; and I will put My words in His mouth, and He shall speak to them as I shall command Him. ¹⁹ And whoever shall not hearken to all the words that the Prophet shall speak in My name, I will take vengeance on him.

¹ Why did the heathen rage, and the nations imagine vain things? ² The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers gathered themselves together, against the Lord, and against His Christ; ³ saying, Let us break through Their bonds, and cast away Their yoke from us. ⁴ He that dwells in the heavens shall laugh them to scorn, and the Lord shall mock them. ⁵ Then shall He speak to them in His anger, and trouble them in His fury. ⁶ But I have been made King by Him on Zion His holy mountain, ⁷ declaring the ordinance of the Lord: the Lord has said to Me, You are My Son, today I have begotten You. ⁸ Ask of Me, and I shall give You the nations for Your inheritance, and the ends of the earth for Your possession. ⁹ You shall rule them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them in pieces as a potter's vessel. ¹⁰ Now therefore understand, you kings: be instructed, all you that judge the earth. ¹¹ Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice in Him with trembling. ¹² Accept correction, lest at any time the Lord be angry, and you should perish from the righteous way. Whenever His wrath shall be suddenly kindled, blessed are all they that trust in Him.

⁹ Therefore my heart rejoiced and my tongue exalted; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope: ¹⁰ because You will not leave my soul in Hades, neither will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption. ¹¹ You have made known to me the ways of life; You will fill me with joy with Your countenance: at Your right hand there are delights forever.

¹ For the end, concerning the morning aid, A Psalm of David. O God, my God, attend to me; why have You forsaken me? The account of my transgressions is far from my salvation. ² O my God, I will cry to You by day, but You will not hear; and by night, and it shall not be reckoned to me as folly. ³ But You, O praise of Israel, dwell in a sanctuary. ⁴ Our fathers hoped in You; they hoped, and You delivered them. ⁵ They cried to You, and were saved; they hoped in You, and were not ashamed. ⁶ But I am a worm, and not a man; a reproach of men, and the scorn of the people. ⁷ All that saw Me mocked Me; they spoke with their lips, they shook the head, saying, ⁸ He hoped in the Lord; let Him deliver Him, let Him save Him, because He takes pleasure in Him. ⁹ For You are He that drew Me out of the womb; My hope from My mother's breasts. ¹⁰ I was cast on You from the womb; You are My God from My mother's belly. ¹¹ Be not far from Me, for affliction is near; for there is no helper. ¹² Many bulls have compassed Me; fat bulls have beset Me round about. ¹³ They have opened their mouth against Me, as a ravening and roaring lion. ¹⁴ I am poured out like water, and all My bones are loosened; My heart in the midst of My belly has become like melting wax. ¹⁵ My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and My tongue is glued to My throat; and You have brought Me down to the dust of death. ¹⁶ For many dogs have compassed Me; the assembly of the evildoers has enclosed Me; they pierced My hands and My feet. ¹⁷ They counted all My bones; and they observed and looked upon Me. ¹⁸ They parted My garments among themselves, and cast lots for My clothing. ¹⁹ But You, O Lord, be not far from Me; be ready for My aid. ²⁰ Deliver My soul from the sword; My only begotten soul from the power of the dog. ²¹ Save Me from the lion's mouth; and regard My lowliness from the horns of the unicorns. ²² I will declare Your name to My brothers; in the midst of the church will I sing praise to You. ²³ You that fear the Lord, praise Him; all you descendants of Jacob, glorify Him; let all the seed of Israel fear Him. ²⁴ For He has not despised nor been angry at the supplication of the poor; nor turned away His face from Me; but when I cried to Him, He heard Me. ²⁵ My praise is of You in the great congregation; I will pay My vows before them that fear Him. ²⁶ The poor shall eat and be satisfied; and they shall praise the Lord that seek Him; their heart shall live forever. ²⁷ All the ends of the earth shall remember and turn to the Lord, and all the families of the nations shall worship before Him. ²⁸ For the kingdom is the Lord's; and He is the governor of the nations. ²⁹ All the fat ones of the earth have eaten and worshipped; all that go down to the earth shall fall down before Him; my soul also lives to him. ³⁰ And my seed shall serve him; the generation that is coming shall be reported to the Lord. ³¹ And they shall report His righteousness to the people that shall be born, whom the Lord has made.

⁶ Sacrifice and offering You did not desire; but a body You have prepared for me; whole burnt offering and sacrifice for sin You did not require. ⁷ Then I said, Behold, I have come; in the volume of the book it is written of me, ⁸ I desired to do Your will, O my God, and Your law in the midst of my heart.

Save me, O God; for the waters have come in to my soul. ² I am stuck fast in deep mire, and there is no standing: I have come in to the depths of the sea, and a storm has overwhelmed me. ³ I am weary of crying, my throat has become hoarse; my eyes have failed by my waiting on my God. ⁴ Those that hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of my head; my enemies that persecute me unrighteously are strengthened. Then I restored that which I took not away. ⁵ O God, You know my foolishness; and my transgressions are not hidden from You. ⁶ Let not them that wait on You, O Lord of hosts, be ashamed on my account; let not them that seek You, be ashamed on my account, O God of Israel. ⁷ For I have suffered reproach for Your sake; shame has covered my face. ⁸ I became strange to my brethren, and a stranger to my mother's children. ⁹ For the zeal of Your house has eaten me up; and the reproaches of them that reproached You have fallen upon me. ¹⁰ And I bowed down my soul with fasting, and that was made my reproach. ¹¹ And I put on sackcloth for my covering; and I became a proverb to them. ¹² Those that sit in the gate talked against me, and those that drank wine sang against me. ¹³ But I will cry to You, O Lord, in my prayer; O God, it is a propitious time: in the multitude of Your mercy hear me, in the truth of Your salvation. ¹⁴ Save me from the mire, that I stick not in it; let me be delivered from them that hate me, and from the deep waters. ¹⁵ Let not the floodwater drown me, nor let the deep swallow me up; neither let the well shut its mouth upon me. ¹⁶ Hear me, O Lord; for Your mercy is good: according to the multitude of Your compassions, look upon me. ¹⁷ And turn not away Your face from Your servant; for I am afflicted; hear me speedily. ¹⁸ Draw near to my soul and redeem it: deliver me because of my enemies. ¹⁹ For You know my reproach, and my shame, and my confusion; all that afflict me are before You. ²⁰ My soul has waited for reproach and misery; and I waited for one to grieve with me, but there was none; and for one to comfort me, but I found none. ²¹ They gave me also gall for my food, and made me drink vinegar for my thirst. ²² Let their table before them be for a snare, and for a recompense, and for a stumbling block. ²³ Let their eyes be darkened that they should not see; and bow down their back continually. ²⁴ Pour out Your wrath upon them, and let the fury of Your anger take hold of them. ²⁵ Let their habitation be made desolate; and let there be no inhabitant in their tents; ²⁶ because they persecuted him whom You have smitten; and they have added to the grief of my wounds. ²⁷ Add iniquity to their iniquity; and let them not come into Your righteousness. ²⁸ Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and let them not be written with the righteous. ²⁹ I am poor and sorrowful; but the salvation of Your countenance has helped me. ³⁰ I will praise the name of my God with a song, I will magnify Him with praise; ³¹ and this shall please God more than a young calf having horns and hoofs. ³² Let the poor see and rejoice; seek the Lord diligently, and you shall live. ³³ For the Lord hears the poor, and does not despise His prisoners. ³⁴ Let the heavens and the earth praise Him, the sea, and all things moving in them. ³⁵ For God will save Zion, and the cities of Judah shall be built; and men shall dwell there, and inherit it. ³⁶ And the seed of His servants shall possess it, and those that love His name shall dwell in it.

¹ For Solomon. O God, give Your judgment to the king, and Your righteousness to the king's son; ² that he may judge Your people with righteousness, and Your poor with judgment. ³ Let the mountains and the hills raise peace to Your people. ⁴ He shall judge the poor of the people in righteousness, and save the children of the needy; and shall bring low the false accuser. ⁵ And He shall continue as long as the sun, and before the moon forever. ⁶ He shall come down as rain upon a fleece, and as drops falling upon the earth. ⁷ In His days shall righteousness spring up; and abundance of peace till the moon be removed. ⁸ And He shall have dominion from sea to sea, and from the River to the ends of the earth. ⁹ The Ethiopians shall fall down before Him, and His enemies shall lick the dust. ¹⁰ The kings of Tarshish, and the isles, shall bring presents: the kings of the Arabians and Sheba shall offer gifts. ¹¹ And all kings shall worship Him; all the Gentiles shall serve Him. ¹² For He has delivered the poor from the oppressor; and the needy who had no helper. ¹³ He shall spare the poor and needy, and shall deliver the souls of the needy. ¹⁴ He shall redeem their souls from oppression and injustice, and their name shall be precious before Him. ¹⁵ And He shall live, and the gold of Arabia shall be given to Him, and men shall pray for Him continually; and all the day shall they praise Him. ¹⁶ There shall be an establishment on the earth on the tops of the mountains; its fruit shall be exalted above Lebanon, and those of the city shall flourish as grass of the earth. ¹⁷ Let His name be blessed forever; His name shall endure longer than the sun, and all the tribes of the earth shall be blessed in Him: all nations shall call Him blessed. ¹⁸ Blessed is the Lord God of Israel, who alone does wonders. ¹⁹ And blessed is His glorious name forever, even forever and ever; and all the earth shall be filled with His glory. O Lord God of my salvation, I have cried by day and in the night before You. ² Let my prayer come in before You; incline Your ear to my supplication, O Lord. ³ For my soul is filled with troubles, and my life has drawn near to Hades. ⁴ I have been reckoned with them that go down to the pit; I became as a man without help; ⁵ free among the dead, as the slain ones cast out, who sleep in the tomb; whom You remember no more; and they are rejected from Your hand. ⁶ They laid me in the lowest pit, in darkness, and in the shadow of death. ⁷ Your wrath has pressed heavily upon me, and You have brought upon me all Your billows. Pause. ⁸ You have removed my acquaintance far from me; they have made me an abomination to themselves; I have been delivered up, and have not gone forth. ⁹ My eyes are dimmed from poverty; but I cried out to You, O Lord, all the day; I spread forth my hands to You. ¹⁰ Will You work wonders for the dead? ¹ A Psalm of David. The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at My right hand, until I make Your enemies Your footstool. ² The Lord shall send out the rod of Your strength out of Zion; rule in the midst of Your enemies! ³ With You is dominion in the day of Your power, in the splendors of Your saints; I have begotten You from the womb before the morning. ⁴ The Lord has sworn, and will not relent, You are a priest forever, after the order of Melchizedek. ⁵ The Lord at Your right hand has dashed in pieces kings in the day of His wrath. ⁶ He shall judge among the nations, He shall fill up the number of corpses, He shall crush the heads of many on the earth. ⁷ He shall drink of the brook in the way; therefore shall He lift up the head.

²² The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone.

¹⁴ Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign; behold, a virgin shall conceive in the womb, and shall bring forth a son, and you shall call His name Emmanuel.

⁶ For a Child is born to us, and a Son is given to us, whose government is upon His shoulder; and His name is called the Messenger of great counsel; for I will bring peace upon the princes, and health to Him.

¹ And there shall come forth a Rod out of the root of Jesse, and a blossom shall come up from his root; ² and the Spirit of God shall rest upon Him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and strength, the spirit of knowledge and godliness shall fill Him; ³ the spirit of the fear of God. He shall not judge according to appearance, nor reprove according to report; ⁴ but He shall judge the cause of the lowly, and shall reprove the lowly of the earth; and He shall smite the earth with the word of His mouth, and with the breath of His lips shall He destroy the ungodly one. ⁵ And He shall have His loins girded with righteousness, and His sides clothed with truth. ⁶ And the wolf shall feed with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the young calf and bull and lion shall feed together; and a little child shall lead them. ⁷ And the ox and bear shall feed together; and their young shall be together; and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. ⁸ And an infant shall put his hand into the holes of asps, and on the nest of young asps. ⁹ And they shall not be hurt, nor shall they be able to destroy anyone on My holy mountain; for the whole world is filled with the knowledge of the Lord, as much water covers the seas. ¹⁰ And in that day there shall be a Root of Jesse, and He that shall arise to rule over the Gentiles; in Him shall the Gentiles trust, and His rest shall be glorious.

¹⁶ Therefore thus says the Lord, even the Lord, Behold, I lay for the foundations of Zion a costly stone, a choice cornerstone and precious, for its foundations; and he that believes on Him shall by no means be ashamed.

¹ Comfort, yes, comfort My people, says your God. ² Speak, you priests, to the heart of Jerusalem; comfort her, for her humiliation is accomplished, her sin is put away; for she has received of the Lord's hand double for her sins. ³ The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare the way of the Lord, make straight the paths of our God. ⁴ Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low; and all the crooked ways shall become straight, and the rough places smooth. ⁵ And the glory of the Lord shall appear, and all flesh shall see the salvation of God; for the Lord has spoken it. ⁶ The voice of one saying, Cry; and I said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. ⁷ (TEXT OMITTED) ⁸ The grass withers, and the flower fades; but the word of our God abides forever. ⁹ O you that brings glad tidings to Zion, go up on the high mountain; lift up your voice with strength, you that brings glad tidings to Jerusalem; lift it up, fear not; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God! ¹⁰ Behold the Lord! The Lord is coming with strength, and His arm is with power; behold, His reward is with Him, and His work before Him. ¹¹ He shall tend His flock as a shepherd, and He shall gather the lambs with His arm, and He shall soothe them that are with young.

¹ Jacob is My servant, I will help him; Israel is My elect, My soul has accepted him; I have put My Spirit upon him; he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles. ² He shall not cry, nor lift up his voice, nor shall his voice be heard without. ³ A bruised reed he shall not break, and smoking flax he shall not quench; but he shall bring forth judgment to truth. ⁴ He shall shine out, and shall not be discouraged, until he has set judgment on the earth; and in his name shall the Gentiles trust.

¹ Hearken to Me, you islands; and attend, you Gentiles; after a long time it shall come to pass, says the Lord; from my mother's womb He has called my name; ² and He has made my mouth as a sharp sword, and He has hid me under the shadow of His hand; He has made me as a choice shaft, and He has hid me in His quiver; ³ and said to me, You are My servant, O Israel, and in you I will be glorified. ⁴ Then I said, I have labored in vain, I have given my strength for vanity and for nothing; therefore is my judgment with the Lord, and my labor before my God. ⁵ And now thus says the Lord, who formed me from the womb to be His own servant, to gather Jacob to Him and Israel. I shall be gathered and glorified before the Lord, and my God shall be my strength. ⁶ And He said to me, It is a great thing for you to be called My servant, to establish the tribes of Jacob, and to recover the dispersion of Israel; behold, I have given you for the covenant of a race, for a light of the Gentiles, that you should be for salvation to the end of the earth. ⁷ Thus says the Lord that delivered you, the God of Israel, Sanctify him that despises his life, him that is abhorred by the nations that are the servants of princes; kings shall behold him, and princes shall arise, and shall worship him, for the Lord's sake; for the Holy One of Israel is faithful, and I have chosen you. ⁸ Thus says the Lord, In an acceptable time have I heard you, and in a day of salvation have I helped you; and I have formed you, and given you for a covenant of the nations, to establish the earth, and to cause to inherit the desert heritages;

² Why did I come, and there was no man? Why did I call, and there was none to hearken? Is not My hand strong to redeem? Or can I not deliver? Behold, by My rebuke I will dry up the sea, and make rivers a wilderness; and their fish shall be dried up because there is no water, and shall die of thirst. ³ I will clothe the sky with darkness, and will make its covering as sackcloth. ⁴ The Lord, even God, gives me the tongue of instruction, to know when it is fit to speak a word; He has appointed for me early, He has given me an ear to hear; ⁵ and the instruction of the Lord, even the Lord, opens my ears, and I do not disobey, nor dispute. ⁶ I gave my back to scourges, and my cheeks to blows; and I turned not away my face from the shame of spitting;

¹³ Behold, My servant shall understand, and be exalted, and glorified exceedingly.

¹ The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me; He has sent Me to preach the gospel to the poor, to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind; ² to declare the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of recompense; to comfort all that mourn; ³ that there should be given to them that mourn in Zion glory instead of ashes, the oil of joy to the mourners, the garment of glory for the spirit of heaviness; and they shall be called generations of righteousness, the planting of the Lord for glory.

⁵ Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will raise up to David a righteous branch, and a king shall reign and understand, and shall execute judgment and righteousness on the earth.

²² For thus says the Lord: I will even take of the choice branches of the cedar from the top thereof, I will crop off their hearts, and I will plant it on a high mountain;

²³ And I will raise up one shepherd over them, and he shall tend them, even My servant David, and he shall be their shepherd;

⁴⁴ And in the days of those kings the God of heaven shall set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed; and His kingdom shall not be left to another people, but it shall beat to pieces and grind to powder all other kingdoms, and it shall stand forever.

¹³ I beheld in the night vision, and behold, One like the Son of Man coming with the clouds of heaven, and He came to the Ancient of Days, and was brought near to Him.

²⁴ Seventy weeks have been determined upon your people, and upon the holy city, for sin to be ended, to seal up transgressions, to blot out iniquities, to make atonement for iniquities, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy, and to anoint the Most Holy. ²⁵ And you shall know and understand, that from the going forth of the command for the answer and for the building of Jerusalem, until Christ the Prince, there shall be seven weeks, and sixty-two weeks; and then the time shall return, and the street shall be built, and the wall, and the times shall be exhausted. ²⁶ And after the sixty-two weeks, the Anointed One shall be killed, and there is no judgment in Him. And He shall destroy the city and the sanctuary with the prince that is to come: they shall be cut off with a flood, and to the end of the war which is rapidly completed He shall appoint the city to desolations. ²⁷ And one week shall establish the covenant with many. And in the midst of the week my sacrifice and drink offering shall be taken away: and on the temple shall be the abomination of desolations; and at the end of the time an end shall be put to the desolation.

⁷ But I will have mercy on the house of Judah, and will save them by the Lord their God, and will not save them with bow, nor with sword, nor by war, nor by horses, nor by horsemen. ⁸ And she weaned Unpitied; and she conceived again, and bore a son. ⁹ And He said, Call his name, Not my people: for you are not My people, and I am not your God. ¹⁰ Yet the number of the children of Israel was as the sand of the sea, which shall not be measured nor numbered: and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said to them, You are not My people, even they shall be called the sons of the living God. ¹¹ And the children of Judah shall be gathered, and the children of Israel together, and shall appoint themselves one head, and shall come up out of the land: for great shall be the day of Jezreel.

⁵ And afterward shall the children of Israel return, and shall seek the Lord their God, and David their king; and shall be amazed at the Lord and at His goodness in the latter days.

²⁸ And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out of My Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions. ²⁹ And on My servants and on My handmaids in those days will I pour out of My Spirit. ³⁰ And I will show wonders in heaven, and upon the earth, blood, and fire, and vapors of smoke. ³¹ The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord. ³² And it shall come to pass that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved: for in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall the saved one be as the Lord has said, and they that have glad tidings preached to them, whom the Lord has called.

¹¹ In that day I will raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and will rebuild the ruins of it, and will set up the parts thereof that have been broken down, and will build it up as in the ancient days:

¹ Now shall the daughter of Zion be completely hedged in: he has laid siege against us: they shall smite the tribes of Israel with a rod upon the cheek. ² And you, Bethlehem, house of Ephratha, are few in number to be reckoned among the thousands of Judah; yet out of you shall one come forth to Me, to be a ruler of Israel; and His goings forth were from the beginning, even from eternity. ³ Therefore shall He appoint them to wait till the time of her that labors: she shall bring forth, and then the remnant of their brothers shall return to the children of Israel. ⁴ And the Lord shall stand, and see, and feed His flock with power, and they shall dwell in the glory of the name of the Lord their God: for now shall they be magnified to the ends of the earth.

^{7 (2:8)} and I will shake all nations, and the choice portions of all the nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, says the Lord Almighty. ^{8 (2:9)} Mine is the silver, and Mine the gold, says the Lord Almighty. ^{9 (2:10)} For the glory of this house shall be great, the latter more than the former, says the Lord Almighty: and in this place will I give peace, says the Lord Almighty, even peace of soul for a possession to everyone that builds, to raise up this temple.

¹² and you shall say to him, Thus says the Lord Almighty; Behold the man whose name is the Branch; and He shall spring up from His stem, and build the house of the Lord.

⁹ Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; proclaim it aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem; behold, your King is coming to you, righteous, and your Savior; He is meek and riding on a donkey, a young foal of a donkey.

⁸ And I will cut off three shepherds in one month, and My soul shall grieve over them, for their souls cried out against Me. ⁹ And I said, I will not tend you: that which dies, let it die; and that which falls off, let it fall off; and let the rest eat the flesh of his neighbor. ¹⁰ And I will take My beautiful staff, and cast it away, that I may break My covenant which I made with all the people. ¹¹ And it shall be broken in that day; and the Canaanites, the sheep that are kept for me, shall know that it is the word of the Lord. ¹² And I will say to them, If it is good in your eyes, give me my price, or refuse it. And they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver. ¹³ And the Lord said to me, Drop them into the furnace, and I will see if it is good metal, as I was proved for their sakes. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them into the furnace in the house of the Lord.

¹⁰ And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the Spirit of grace and compassion: and they shall look upon Me, because they have mocked Me, and they shall make lamentation for Him, as for a beloved friend, and they shall grieve intensely, as for a firstborn son.

⁷ Awake, O sword, against My shepherds, and against the man who is My citizen, says the Lord Almighty; strike the shepherds, and draw out the sheep: and I will bring My hand upon the little ones.

⁴ And His feet shall stand in that day on the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall be split in two, from east to west, a very great division; half the mountain shall lean to the north, and half of it to the south.

¹ Behold, I send forth My messenger, and he shall survey the way before Me: and the Lord, whom you seek, shall suddenly come into His temple, even the Messenger of the covenant, whom you take pleasure in: behold, He is coming, says the Lord Almighty. ² And who will abide the day of His coming? Or who will withstand at His appearing? For He is coming in as the fire of a furnace and as the herb of fullers. ³ He shall sit to melt and purify as it were silver, and as it were gold: and He shall purify the sons of Levi, and refine them as gold and silver, and they shall offer to the Lord an offering in righteousness.

² But to you that fear My name shall the Sun of righteousness arise, and healing shall be in His wings: and you shall go forth, and bound as young calves let loose from bonds. ³ And you shall trample the wicked; for they shall be ashes underneath your feet in the day which I appoint, says the Lord Almighty. ⁴ Remember the law of My servant Moses, accordingly as I charged him with it in Horeb for all Israel, even the commandments and ordinances. ⁵ And, behold, I will send to you Elijah the Tishbite, before the great and glorious day of the Lord comes; ⁶ who shall turn again the heart of the father to the son, and the heart of a man to his neighbor, lest I come and smite the earth grievously.

²¹ From that time Jesus began to show to His disciples that He must go off to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and to be killed, and to be raised the third day.

²² And while they were staying in Galilee, Jesus said to them, "The Son of Man is about to be betrayed into the hands of men, ²³ and they will kill Him, and on the third day He shall be raised." And they were exceedingly sorrowful.

¹⁸ "Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn Him to death, ¹⁹ and they will hand Him over to the Gentiles to mock and to scourge and to crucify. And the third day He shall rise again."

⁵⁴ How then would the Scriptures be fulfilled, that it must happen thus?"

⁵⁶ But all this has happened so that the Scriptures of the prophets may be fulfilled." Then all the disciples forsook Him and fled.

³¹ And He began to teach them that it was necessary for the Son of Man to suffer many things, and to be rejected by the elders and the chief priests and the scribes, and to be killed, and after three days to rise. ³² He was speaking this word with boldness. And Peter, taking Him aside, began to rebuke Him.

³¹ For He was teaching His disciples and said to them, "The Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of men, and they will kill Him. And after He is killed, He will rise on the third day."

³³ "Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered up to the chief priests and to the scribes; and they will condemn Him to death and will deliver Him over to the Gentiles; ³⁴ and they will mock Him, and scourge Him, and spit on Him, and kill Him. And on the third day He will rise again."

²² saying, "The Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and to be killed, and to be raised on the third day."

⁴⁴ Let these words sink down into your ears, for the Son of Man is about to be betrayed into the hands of men."

³¹ Then taking the twelve aside, He said to them, "Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of Man will be accomplished. ³² For He will be betrayed to the Gentiles, and will be mocked and insulted and spit upon, ³³ and having scourged Him, they will kill Him. And on the third day He will rise again." ³⁴ But they understood none of these things; this saying was hidden from them, and they did not know what was being said.

²² For these are the days of vengeance, to fulfill all that has been written.

³⁷ For I say to you that this which has been written must still be accomplished in Me--the saying, 'And He was numbered with the transgressors.' For the things concerning Me have a fulfillment."

⁶ He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee, ⁷ saying, 'The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and on the third day rise again.' "

²⁶ Ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into His glory?" ²⁷ And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.

⁴⁶ Then He said to them, "Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day,

¹⁴ And just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up,

³⁹ You search the Scriptures, because you think that in them you have eternal life; and these are they which testify about Me.

⁴⁶ For if you believed Moses, you would have believed Me; for he wrote about Me.

⁴ But these things I have spoken to you, so that when the time comes, you may remember them, that I told you. But these things I did not say to you from the beginning, because I was with you. ⁵ "But now I am going to Him who sent Me, and none of you asks Me, 'Where are You going?'

¹⁶ "A little while and you will not see Me; and again a little while and you will see Me, because I am going to the Father." ¹⁷ Then some of His disciples said to one another, "What is this that He says to us, 'A little while and you will not see Me; and again a little while and you will see Me'; and, 'I am going to the Father'?"

¹¹ And I am no longer in the world, yet these are in the world, and I am coming to You. Holy Father, keep through Your name those which You have given Me, that they may be one just as We are. ¹² When I was with them in the world, I kept them in Your name. Those whom You have given Me I guarded; and not one of them is lost except the son of perdition, so that the Scripture might be fulfilled. ¹³ But now I am coming to You, and these things I speak in the world, so that they may have My joy fulfilled in themselves.

²⁴ Therefore they said to one another, "Let us not tear it, but let us cast lots for it, whose it will be," so that the Scripture might be fulfilled which says: "They divided My garments among them, and for My clothing they cast lots." Therefore the soldiers did these things. ²⁵ Now there stood by the cross of Jesus His mother, and His mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. ²⁶ Therefore Jesus, seeing His mother, and the disciple whom He loved standing by, He said to His mother, "Woman, behold your son!" ²⁷ Then He said to the disciple, "Behold your mother!" And from that hour that disciple took her into his own care. ²⁸ After this, Jesus, seeing that all things already had been fulfilled, so that the Scripture might be fulfilled, He said, "I thirst!" ²⁹ Now a vessel was set full of sour wine; and they, having filled a sponge with sour wine, put it around a hyssop, they held it to His mouth. ³⁰ Therefore when Jesus received the sour wine, He said, "It is finished!" And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit. ³¹ Therefore the Jews, since it was the Preparation Day, that the bodies should not remain on the cross on the Sabbath (for that Sabbath was a high day), asked Pilate that their legs might be broken, and they might be taken away. ³² Then the soldiers came and they broke the legs of the first man, and of the other who was crucified with Him. ³³ But having come to Jesus, when they saw that He was already dead, they did not break His legs. ³⁴ But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out. ³⁵ And he who has seen has testified, and his testimony is true; and he knows that he tells the truth, so that you may believe. ³⁶ For these things were done that the Scripture should be fulfilled, "Not a bone of His shall be broken." ³⁷ And again another Scripture says, "They shall look at Him whom they pierced."

¹⁸ But those things which God announced beforehand by the mouth of all His prophets, that the Christ would suffer, He has thus fulfilled.

²² For Moses said to the fathers, 'The LORD our God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your brothers. Him you shall hear in all things, whatever He says to you. ²³ 'And it shall be that every person who does not hear that Prophet shall be utterly destroyed from among the people.' ²⁴ Yes, and all the prophets, from Samuel and his successors, as many as have spoken, have proclaimed these days.

³⁷ "This is that Moses who said to the sons of Israel, 'The LORD our God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your brothers.

²⁹ And when they finished all the things having been written about Him, taking Him down from the tree, they put Him in a tomb. ³⁰ But God raised Him from the dead; ³¹ who appeared for many days more to those going up with Him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are His witnesses to the people.

³³ that God has fulfilled this promise for us to their children, when He raised up Jesus, as it is also written in the second Psalm: 'You are My Son, today I have begotten You.'

² And according to Paul's custom, he went in to them, and for three Sabbaths he reasoned with them from the Scriptures, ³ interpreting and pointing out that it was necessary for the Christ to suffer, and to arise from the dead, and saying that "This is the Christ, Jesus, whom I proclaim to you."

³ For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, ⁴ and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,

⁵ And Moses indeed was faithful in all His house as a servant, for a testimony of the things which would be spoken,

¹ For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of the Most High God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him,

⁸ the Holy Spirit signifying this, that the way into the Holiest of All was not yet revealed while the first tabernacle was still standing,

¹ For the law having a shadow of the good things to come, and not the image itself of the things, can never with the same sacrifices, which they offer continually every year, make those approaching perfect.

¹¹ searching for who or what kind of time the Spirit of Christ in them was revealing when He testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ and the glories which were to follow:

¹⁰ And I fell before his feet to worship him. But he said to me, "See that you do not! I am your fellow servant, and of your brothers who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy."
