⁵ Then, as they became afraid and bowed their faces to the ground, they said to them, "Why do you seek the living among the dead?

¹⁷ And he came and stood near where I stood. And when he came, I was struck with awe, and fell upon my face. But he said to me, Understand, son of man, for the vision is yet for an appointed time. ¹⁸ And while he spoke with me, I fell upon my face to the earth. And he touched me, and set me on my feet.

⁷ And I, Daniel alone saw the vision: and the men that were with me saw not the vision; but a great amazement fell upon them, and they fled in fear. ⁸ So I was left alone, and saw this great vision, and there was no strength left in me, and my glory was turned into corruption, and I retained no strength. ⁹ Yet I heard the voice of his words; and when I heard him I was cut to the heart, and I fell with my face to the earth. ¹⁰ And behold, a hand touched me, and it raised me on my knees. ¹¹ And he said to me, O Daniel, man greatly beloved, understand the words which I speak to you, and stand upright, for I am now sent to you. And when he had spoken to me this word, I stood trembling. ¹² And he said to me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to afflict yourself before the Lord your God, your words were heard, and I have come because of your words.

¹⁶ And behold, as it were the likeness of a son of man touched my lips; and I opened my mouth, and spoke, and said to him that stood before me, O my lord, at the sight of you my insides were turned within me, and I had no strength.

¹⁹ and said to me, Fear not, man greatly beloved: peace be to you, gird yourself like a man, and be strong. And when he had spoken with me, I received strength, and said, Let my lord speak; for you have strengthened me.

³ And His appearance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow. ⁴ And the guards were shaken for fear of him, and became like dead men. ⁵ But the angel answered and said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified.

⁵ And entering into the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right clothed with a white robe, and they were alarmed. ⁶ But he said to them, "Do not be alarmed. You are seeking Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has arisen! He is not here! See the place where they put Him.

¹² And when Zacharias saw him, he was troubled, and fear fell upon him. ¹³ But the angel said to him, "Do not be afraid, Zacharias, because your prayer has been heard; and your wife Elizabeth will bear a son to you, and you shall call his name John.

²⁹ But when she saw him, she was greatly perplexed by his saying, and she wondered what sort of greeting this was.

³ About the ninth hour of the day he saw clearly in a vision an angel of God coming to him and saying to him, "Cornelius!" ⁴ And looking intently at him and becoming fearful he said, "What is it, lord?" And he said to him, "Your prayers and your alms have come up for a memorial before God.

⁸ And here on one hand mortal men receive tithes, but there on the other it is witnessed that he lives.

¹⁸ I am He who lives, and became dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Death and of Hades.
