¹ Then the scribes and Pharisees who were from Jerusalem approached Jesus, saying, ² "Why do Your disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands whenever they eat bread." ³ He answered and said to them, "Why do you also transgress the commandment of God on account of your tradition? ⁴ For God commanded, saying, 'Honor your father and your mother'; and, 'He who curses father or mother, with death let him die.' ⁵ But you say, 'Whoever says to his father or mother, "It is a gift to God, whatever profit you might have received from me"-- ⁶ then by no means should he honor his father or mother.' Thus you have nullified the commandment of God on account of your tradition. ⁷ Hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy about you, saying, ⁸ 'These people draw near to Me with their mouth, and they honor Me with their lips, but their heart is far away from Me. ⁹ And in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.' " ¹⁰ And having summoned the crowd, He said to them, "Hear and understand: ¹¹ Not what goes into the mouth defiles a man; but what comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man." ¹² Then His disciples approached and said to Him, " You know that when the Pharisees heard this message they were offended?" ¹³ But He answered and said, "Every plant which My heavenly Father has not planted will be uprooted. ¹⁴ Leave them alone. They are blind guides of the blind. And if the blind guides the blind, both will fall into a ditch." ¹⁵ Then Peter answered and said to Him, "Explain to us this parable." ¹⁶ So Jesus said, "Are you also still without understanding? ¹⁷ Do you not yet understand that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach, and is cast out into a latrine? ¹⁸ But those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man. ¹⁹ For out of the heart come forth evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies. ²⁰ These are the things which defile a man, but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile a man." ²¹ And going out from there, Jesus withdrew into the region of Tyre and Sidon. ²² And behold, a Canaanite woman coming forth from that region cried out to Him, saying, "Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! My daughter is severely demon-possessed." ²³ But He answered her not a word. And His disciples approached and urged Him, saying, "Send her away, for she cries out after us." ²⁴ But He answered and said, "I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel." ²⁵ Then she came and worshipped Him, saying, "Lord, help me!" ²⁶ But He answered and said, "It is not good to take the children's bread and to throw it to the little dogs." ²⁷ But she said, "Yes, Lord, for even the little dogs eat from the crumbs falling from their masters' table." ²⁸ Then Jesus answered and said to her, "O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire." And her daughter was healed from that very hour. ²⁹ And moving on from there, Jesus came alongside the Sea of Galilee, and going up into a mountain, He sat down there. ³⁰ And great crowds came to Him, having with them the lame, blind, mute, maimed, and many others; and they put them down at Jesus' feet, and He healed them. ³¹ So the multitude marveled when they saw the mute speaking, the maimed made whole, the lame walking, and the blind seeing; and they glorified the God of Israel. ³² Now Jesus, having summoned His disciples, He said, "I have compassion on the crowd, because they have been remaining with Me three days, and they do not have anything to eat. And I do not desire to send them away hungry, lest they faint on the way." ³³ Then His disciples said to Him, "Where could we get so many loaves of bread in this deserted place, so as to satisfy so great a crowd?" ³⁴ Jesus said to them, "How many loaves do you have?" And they said, "Seven, and a few small fish." ³⁵ So He commanded the crowds to recline on the ground. ³⁶ And He took the seven loaves and the fish, having given thanks, He broke them, and gave them to His disciples; and the disciples gave to the crowd. ³⁷ So they all ate and were satisfied. And they took up what they had left of the fragments, seven hampers full. ³⁸ Now those who ate were four thousand men, apart from women and children. ³⁹ And having dismissed the crowds, He went up into the boat, and came to the region of Magdala.

²⁰ For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you shall by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.

¹⁵ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you travel around land and sea to make one proselyte, and whenever he becomes one, you make him twice as much a son of hell as you. ¹⁶ Woe to you, blind guides, who say, 'Whoever swears by the temple, it is nothing; but whoever swears by the gold of the temple, is obligated.' ¹⁷ "Fools and blind! For which is greater, the gold or the temple that sanctifies the gold? ¹⁸ And, 'Whoever swears by the altar, it is nothing; but whoever swears by the gift that is on it, is obligated.' ¹⁹ "Fools and blind! For which is greater, the gift or the altar that sanctifies the gift? ²⁰ Therefore he that swears by the altar, swears by it and by all the things on it. ²¹ He that swears by the temple, swears by it and by Him who dwelt in it. ²² And he that swears by heaven, swears by the throne of God and by Him who sits on it. ²³ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you pay tithes of mint and dill and cummin, and have neglected the more important things of the law: justice and mercy and faith. These things you should have done, and not have neglected the others. ²⁴ Blind guides, you who strain out a gnat, but swallow a camel! ²⁵ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and unrighteousness. ²⁶ Blind Pharisee, first clean the inside of the cup and dish, so that the outside of them may be clean also. ²⁷ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs, which indeed appear beautiful outwardly, but inside are full of dead men's bones and of all uncleanness. ²⁸ Thus also you outwardly appear righteous to men, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.

²² And the scribes who were from Jerusalem came down and were saying, "He has Beelzebul," and, "By the ruler of the demons He casts out demons."

¹ Then the Pharisees and some of the scribes gathered together to Him, having come from Jerusalem. ² Now when they saw some of His disciples eat bread with ceremonially unclean, that is, with unwashed hands, they found fault. ³ For the Pharisees and all the Jews do not eat unless they wash their hands with their fist, holding the tradition of the elders. ⁴ And coming from the marketplace, unless they bathe, they do not eat. And there are many other things which they have received by tradition, like the washing of cups and pitchers, copper vessels and couches. ⁵ Then the Pharisees and scribes asked Him, "Why do Your disciples not walk according to the tradition of the elders, but they eat bread with unwashed hands?" ⁶ And answering He said to them, "Well did Isaiah prophesy about you hypocrites, as it is written: 'This people honors Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me. ⁷ And in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.' ⁸ "For having left the commandment of God, you hold to the tradition of men--the washing of pitchers and cups, and many other similar things you do." ⁹ And He said to them, "Well do you set aside the commandment of God, so that you may keep your tradition. ¹⁰ For Moses said, 'Honor your father and your mother'; and, 'Whoever speaks evil of father or mother, let him surely die.' ¹¹ But you say, 'If a man says to his father or to his mother, "Whatever you might be profited by me is Corban"--' (that is, a gift), ¹² then you no longer allow him to do anything for his father or for his mother, ¹³ thus nullifying the word of God by your tradition which you have handed down. And many similar things you do." ¹⁴ And having summoned all the crowd, He said to them, "Hear Me, all of you and understand: ¹⁵ There is nothing from outside a man, that entering into him, can defile him; but the things which come out of him, those are the things that defile a man. ¹⁶ If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear!" ¹⁷ When He had entered a house away from the crowd, His disciples were asking Him about the parable. ¹⁸ So He said to them, "Are you also without understanding? Do you not understand that everything entering a man from outside cannot defile him, ¹⁹ because it does not enter into his heart but into the stomach, and passes into the latrine, thus purifying all foods?" ²⁰ And He said, "That which comes out of a man, that defiles a man. ²¹ For from within, out of the heart of men, come forth evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, ²² thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, arrogance, foolishness. ²³ All these evil things come from within and defile a man."

¹⁷ Now it happened on a certain day that He was teaching, and Pharisees and teachers of the law were sitting there, who had come out of every village of Galilee, Judea, and Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was present to heal them.

²¹ And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, "Who is this Man who speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins except God alone?"

³⁰ And their scribes and the Pharisees complained against His disciples, saying, "Why do You eat and drink with the tax collectors and sinners?"

⁹ And there came to be a great outcry, and the scribes of the Pharisees' party stood up and contended sharply, saying, "We find no evil in this man; but if a spirit or an angel has spoken to him, let us not fight against God."

¹⁴ And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, to divide between day and night, and let them be for signs and for seasons and for days and for years.

² Now when they saw some of His disciples eat bread with ceremonially unclean, that is, with unwashed hands, they found fault.

⁵ Then the Pharisees and scribes asked Him, "Why do Your disciples not walk according to the tradition of the elders, but they eat bread with unwashed hands?"

³⁸ And when the Pharisee saw it, he marveled that He had not first washed before the meal.

⁸ Beware lest anyone captures you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.

²⁰ If you died with Christ from the basic principles of the world, why, as though living in the world, do you submit to regulations-- ²¹ "Do not handle, nor taste, nor touch," ²² which things are all for corruption with the using, according to the commands and teaching of men? ²³ These things indeed have a reputation of wisdom in self-imposed religion, false humility, and severity on the body, but are not of any value against the indulgence of the flesh.

¹⁸ knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your futile way of life handed down from your forefathers,

³ And why do you look at the speck in your brother's eye, but do not notice the plank in your own eye? ⁴ Or how will you say to your brother, 'Permit me to remove the speck from your eye'; and look, there is a plank in your own eye? ⁵ Hypocrite! First remove the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck out of your brother's eye. ⁶ And answering He said to them, "Well did Isaiah prophesy about you hypocrites, as it is written: 'This people honors Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me. ⁷ And in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.' ⁸ "For having left the commandment of God, you hold to the tradition of men--the washing of pitchers and cups, and many other similar things you do."

¹³ thus nullifying the word of God by your tradition which you have handed down. And many similar things you do."

²³ These things indeed have a reputation of wisdom in self-imposed religion, false humility, and severity on the body, but are not of any value against the indulgence of the flesh.

¹⁴ not giving heed to Jewish myths and to commands of men turning away from the truth.

¹² Honor your father and your mother, that it may be well with you, and that you may live long on the good land, which the Lord your God gives to you.

¹⁷ He that reviles his father or his mother shall surely die.

³ Let everyone of you reverence his father and his mother; and you shall keep My Sabbaths: I am the Lord your God.

⁹ Every man who shall speak evil of his father or of his mother, let him die the death; has he spoken evil of his father or his mother? He shall be guilty.

¹⁶ Honor your father and your mother, as the Lord your God has commanded you; that it may be well with you, and that you may live long upon the land, which the Lord your God gives you.

¹⁸ And if any man has a disobedient and contentious son, who hearkens not to the voice of his father and the voice of his mother, and they should correct him, and he should not hearken to them; ¹⁹ then shall his father and his mother take hold of him, and bring him forth to the elders of his city, and to the gate of the place; ²⁰ and they shall say to the men of their city, This our son is disobedient and contentious, he hearkens not to our voice, he is a reveler and a drunkard. ²¹ And the men of his city shall stone him with stones, and he shall die; and you shall remove the evil one from yourselves, and the rest shall hear and fear.

¹⁶ Cursed is the man that dishonors his father or his mother. And all the people shall say, So be it.

²⁰ The lamp of him that reviles father or mother shall be put out, and his eyes shall see darkness.

²² Listen, my son, to your father which begot you, and despise not your mother because she has grown old.

¹⁷ The eye that laughs to scorn a father, and dishonors the old age of a mother, let the ravens of the valleys pick it out, and let the young eagles devour it.

²⁰ For He has given the law for a help, that they should not speak according to this word, concerning which there are no gifts to give for it.

¹⁰ Then Jesus said to him, "Get behind Me, Satan! For it is written, 'You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him alone you shall serve.' "

¹⁷ "Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to abolish, but to fulfill. ¹⁸ For assuredly I say to you, until heaven and earth may pass away, one iota or one tittle shall by no means pass away from the law until all things are fulfilled. ¹⁹ Whoever therefore shall break one of the least of these commandments, and shall teach men thus, will be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does them and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

¹⁹ ' Honor your father and your mother,' and, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' "

³¹ Therefore do we nullify the law through faith? Certainly not! On the contrary, we establish the law.

¹ Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.

⁹ And if it be from the cattle that are offered as a gift to the Lord, whoever shall offer one of these to the Lord, it shall be holy. ¹⁰ He shall not change it, a good for a bad, or a bad for a good; and if he shall change it, a beast for a beast, it and the substitute shall be holy. ¹¹ And if it be any unclean beast, of which none are offered as a gift to the Lord, he shall set the beast before the priest. ¹² And the priest shall make a valuation between the good and the bad, and accordingly as the priest shall value it, so shall it stand. ¹³ And if the worshipper will at all redeem it, he shall add the fifth part to its value. ¹⁴ And whatsoever man shall consecrate his house as holy to the Lord, the priest shall make a valuation of it between the good and the bad: as the priest shall value it, so shall it stand. ¹⁵ And if he that has sanctified it should redeem his house, he shall add to it the fifth part of the money of the valuation, and it shall be his. ¹⁶ And if a man should hallow to the Lord a part of the field of his possession, then the valuation shall be according to its seed, fifty shekels of silver for a homer of barley. ¹⁷ And if he should sanctify his field from the year of release, it shall stand according to his valuation. ¹⁸ And if he should sanctify his field in the latter time after the release, the priest shall reckon to him the money for the remaining years, until the next year of release, and it shall be deducted as an equivalent from his full valuation. ¹⁹ And if he that sanctified the field would redeem it, he shall add to its value the fifth part of the money, and it shall be his. ²⁰ And if he does not redeem the field, but should sell the field to another man, he shall not afterwards redeem it. ²¹ But the field shall be holy to the Lord after the release, as separated land; the priest shall have possession of it. ²² And if he should consecrate to the Lord of a field which he has bought, which is not of the field of his possession, ²³ the priest shall reckon to him the full valuation from the year of release, and he shall pay the valuation in that day as holy to the Lord. ²⁴ And in the year of release the land shall be restored to the man of whom the other bought it, whose the possession of the land was. ²⁵ And every valuation shall be by holy weights: the shekel shall be twenty gerahs. ²⁶ And every firstborn which shall be produced among your cattle shall be the Lord's, and no man shall sanctify it: whether calf or sheep, it is the Lord's. ²⁷ But if he should redeem an unclean beast, according to its valuation, then he shall add the fifth part to it, and it shall be his; and if he redeem it not, it shall be sold according to its valuation. ²⁸ And every dedicated thing which a man shall dedicate to the Lord of all that he has, whether man or beast, or of the field of his possession, he shall not sell it, nor redeem it: every devoted thing shall be most holy to the Lord. ²⁹ And whatever shall be dedicated of men, shall not be ransomed, but shall be surely put to death. ³⁰ Every tithe of the land, both of the seed of the land, and of the fruit of trees, is the Lord's, holy to the Lord. ³¹ And if a man should at all redeem his tithe, he shall add the fifth part to it, and it shall be his. ³² And every tithe of oxen, and of sheep, and whatsoever may come in numbering under the rod, the tenth shall be holy to the Lord. ³³ You shall not change a good for a bad, or a bad for a good; and if you should at all change it, its equivalent also shall be holy, it shall not be redeemed. ³⁴ These are the commandments which the Lord commanded Moses for the sons of Israel on Mount Sinai.

²⁵ It is a snare to a man hastily to consecrate some of his own property: for in that case repentance comes after vowing.

¹⁵ And the Lord took me from the sheep, and the Lord said to me, Go, and prophesy to My people Israel. ¹⁶ And now hear the word of the Lord: You say, Do not prophesy to Israel, and do not raise a tumult against the house of Jacob. ¹⁷ Therefore thus says the Lord; Your wife shall be a harlot in the city, and your sons and your daughters shall fall by the sword, and your land shall be measured with the line; and you shall die in an unclean land; and Israel shall be led captive out of his land. Thus has the Lord God showed me.

¹⁹ But Peter and John answered them and said, "Whether it is right before God to hear you rather than God, you judge.

²⁹ But Peter and the apostles answered, and said: "We must obey God rather than men.

¹²⁶ It is time for the Lord to work; they have utterly broken Your law.

¹³⁹ Your zeal has quite wasted me; because my enemies have forgotten Your words.

⁸ How will you say, We are wise, and the law of the Lord is with us? In vain have the scribes used a false pen.

⁶ My people are like as if they had no knowledge: because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you, that you shall not minister as priest unto Me: and as you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.

⁷ For the priest's lips should keep knowledge, and they should seek the law at his mouth: for he is the messenger of the Lord Almighty. ⁸ But you have turned aside from the way, and caused many to fail in following the law: you have corrupted the covenant of Levi, says the Lord Almighty. ⁹ And I have made you despised and cast out among all the people, because you have not kept My ways, but have been partial in the law.

³ Honor widows who are really widows. ⁴ But if a certain widow has children or grandchildren, let them first learn to show piety to their own household and to make repayment to their parents; for this is acceptable before God.

⁸ But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

¹⁶ If any believing man or believing woman has widows, let that one relieve them, and do not let the church be burdened, that it may relieve those who are really widows.

⁵ Hypocrite! First remove the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck out of your brother's eye.

⁶ And answering He said to them, "Well did Isaiah prophesy about you hypocrites, as it is written: 'This people honors Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me.

²⁵ And being in disagreement with one another, they went away after Paul had said one word: "The Holy Spirit spoke rightly through Isaiah the prophet to our fathers, ²⁶ saying, 'Go to this people and say: "Hearing you will hear, and by no means understand; and seeing you shall see, and by no means perceive; ²⁷ For the hearts of this people has become dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, and their eyes have closed, lest they should see with their eyes and they should hear with their ears, lest they should understand with their heart and turn back, so that I should heal them." '

²⁶ My son, give me your heart, and let your eyes observe my ways.

¹³ And the Lord has said, This people draw near to Me with their mouth, and they honor Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me; and in vain do they worship Me, teaching the commandments and doctrines of men.

² You have planted them, and they have taken root; they have begotten children, and become fruitful; You are near to their mouth, but far from their mind.

³¹ They approach you as a people that come together, and sit before you, and hear your words, but they will not do them; for there is falsehood in their mouth, and their heart goes after their pollutions.

⁴⁷ Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward Him, and said about him, "Behold, an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!"

²¹ You have neither part nor portion in this word, for your heart is not straight before God.

¹² Take heed, brothers, lest there be in anyone of you a wicked heart of unbelief in departing from the living God;

¹⁰ For "He that desires to love life and see good days, let him stop his tongue from evil, and his lips from speaking guile.

⁷ You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain; for the Lord your God will not acquit him that takes His name in vain.

¹⁶ then will I do thus to you: I will even bring upon you perplexity and the itch, and the fever that causes your eyes to waste away, and disease that consumes your life; and you shall sow your seeds in vain, and your enemies shall eat them.

²⁰ And your strength shall be in vain; and your land shall not yield its seed, and the tree of your field shall not yield its fruit.

³² Every word that I command you this day, you shall observe to do: you shall not add to it, nor diminish from it.

²¹ And David said, Perhaps I have kept all his possessions in the wilderness that he should wrong me, and we did not order the taking of anything, of all his goods; yet he has rewarded me evil for good.

⁶ Surely man walks in a shadow; nay, he is disquieted in vain; he lays up treasures, and knows not for whom he shall gather them.

¹³ And I said, Verily in vain have I justified my heart, and washed my hands in innocence.

⁵ For all the words of God are tried in the fire, and He defends those that reverence Him. ⁶ Add not unto His words, lest He reprove you, and you be made a liar.

² Be not hasty with your mouth, and let not your heart be swift to utter anything before God; for God is in heaven above, and you are on earth; therefore let your words be few. ³ For through the multitude of trial a dream comes; and a fool's voice is with a multitude of words. ⁴ Whenever you shall vow a vow to God, defer not to pay it; for He has no pleasure in fools. Pay, therefore, whatsoever you have vowed. ⁵ It is better that you should not vow, than that you should vow and not pay. ⁶ Do not allow your mouth to lead your flesh to sin; and say not in the presence of God, It was an error; lest God be angry at your voice, and destroy the works of your hands. ⁷ For in a multitude of dreams and in many words there is vanity; rather fear God.

¹³ Though you bring fine flour, it is futile; incense is an abomination to Me; I cannot bear your new moons, and your Sabbaths, and the great day; ¹⁴ your fasting, and rest from work, your new moons also, and your feasts My soul hates; you have become loathsome to Me; I will no more pardon your sins. ¹⁵ When you stretch forth your hands, I will turn away My eyes from you; and though you make many supplications, I will not hearken to you; for your hands are full of blood.

¹ Cry aloud, and spare not; lift up your voice as with a trumpet, and declare to My people their sins, and to the house of Jacob their iniquities. ² They seek Me day by day, and desire to know My ways, as a people that had done righteousness, and had not forsaken the judgment of their God; they now ask of Me righteous judgment, and desire to draw near to God, ³ saying, Why have we fasted, and You did not see? Why have we afflicted our souls, and You did not know it? Nay, in the days of your fasts you find your pleasures, and all them that are under your power you wound.

¹⁴ You said, He that serves God labors in vain: and what have we gained in that we have kept His ordinances, and in that we have walked as suppliants before the face of the Lord Almighty?

⁷ And in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.'

² through which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you--unless you believed in vain.

¹⁸ Let no one rule against you, desiring to do so in false humility and in worship of the angels, intruding into those things which he has not seen, in vain being puffed up by his carnal mind, ¹⁹ and not holding fast to the Head, from whom all the body, supported and joined together by joints and ligaments, grows with the growth of God. ²⁰ If you died with Christ from the basic principles of the world, why, as though living in the world, do you submit to regulations-- ²¹ "Do not handle, nor taste, nor touch," ²² which things are all for corruption with the using, according to the commands and teaching of men?

⁴ nor to pay attention to myths and endless genealogies, which cause disputes rather than godly edification which is in faith.

¹ But the Spirit explicitly says, that in latter times some shall fall away from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, ² speaking lies in hypocrisy, having been seared with a hot iron as to their own conscience, ³ forbidding to marry, commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who are believers and have come to know the truth.

⁶ Instructing the brothers in these things, you will be a good minister of Jesus Christ, being nourished by the words of faith and of the good doctrine which you have carefully followed. ⁷ But reject profane and old wives' tales, and exercise yourself unto godliness.

⁹ Do not be carried away with various and strange doctrines. For it is good for the heart to be established by grace, not by foods, by which those having walked were not profited.

²⁰ But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead?

¹⁸ I testify to everyone hearing the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to them, may God add to him the plagues having been written in this book.

²⁸ And Micaiah said, If you ever return in peace, the Lord has not spoken by me.

⁹ You shall hear indeed, but you shall not understand; and you shall see indeed, but you shall not perceive.

³ Give heed with your ears, and follow My ways; hearken to Me, and your soul shall live in prosperity; and I will make with you an everlasting covenant, the sure mercies of David.

¹⁹ When anyone hears the word of the kingdom, and does not understand, then the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is the seed being sown beside the road.

¹⁵ "Therefore when you see the 'abomination of desolation,' spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place" (whoever reads, let him understand),

¹⁴ And having summoned all the crowd, He said to them, "Hear Me, all of you and understand: ¹⁵ There is nothing from outside a man, that entering into him, can defile him; but the things which come out of him, those are the things that defile a man.

⁴⁵ And as all the people listened, He said to His disciples, ⁴⁶ Beware of the scribes, who desire to walk about in long robes, and love greetings in the marketplaces, and the first seats in the synagogues, and the places of honor at dinners, ⁴⁷ who devour widows' houses, and for a show make long prayers. These will receive greater condemnation."

⁴⁵ And He opened their understanding, that they might comprehend the Scriptures.

¹⁷ that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him,

⁹ On account of this we also, since the day we heard, do not cease praying for you, and asking that you may be filled with the full knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;

⁵ If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it shall be given to him.

⁷ Whose mouth is full of cursing, and bitterness, and fraud: under his tongue are trouble and pain.

² Everyone has spoken vanity to his neighbor: their lips are deceitful, they have spoken with a double heart.

² your tongue has devised unrighteousness; like a sharpened razor you have worked deceit. ³ You have loved wickedness more than goodness; unrighteousness better than to speak righteousness. Pause. ⁴ You have loved all words of destruction, and a deceitful tongue.

³ Sinners have gone astray from the womb; they go astray from the belly; they speak lies. ⁴ Their venom is like that of a serpent; as that of a deaf asp, and that stops her ears;

²³ Whom have you reproached and provoked? And against whom have you lifted up your voice? And have you not lifted up your eyes on high against the Holy One of Israel?

³ For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with sins; your lips also have spoken iniquity, and your tongue meditates unrighteousness. ⁴ None speaks justly, neither is there true judgment; they trust in vanities, and speak empty words; for they conceive trouble, and bring forth iniquity. ⁵ They have hatched vipers' eggs, and weave a spider's web; and he that is going to eat of their eggs, having crushed an addled egg, has found also in it a basilisk.

¹³ We have sinned, and dealt falsely, and revolted from our God; we have spoken unrighteous words, and have been disobedient; we have conceived and uttered from our heart unrighteous words. ¹⁴ And we have turned back judgment, and righteousness has departed afar off; for truth is consumed in their ways, and they could not pass by a straight path. ¹⁵ And truth has been taken away, and they have turned aside their mind from understanding. And the Lord saw it, and it pleased Him not that there was no judgment.

³ And they have bent their tongue like a bow; falsehood and not faithfulness has prevailed upon the earth; for they have gone on from evil to evil, and have not known Me, says the Lord. ⁴ Beware, each of his neighbor, and trust not in your brother, for everyone will surely supplant, and every friend will walk craftily. ⁵ Everyone will mock his friend; they will not speak truth; their tongue has learned to speak falsehoods; they have committed iniquity, they ceased not, so as to return. ⁶ There is usury upon usury, and deceit upon deceit: they would not know Me, says the Lord.

³⁴ Brood of vipers! How can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. ³⁵ A good man out of his good treasure brings forth good things, and an evil man out of his evil treasure brings forth evil things. ³⁶ But I say to you, that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. ³⁷ For by your words you shall be justified, and by your words you shall be condemned."

¹⁸ But those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man. ¹⁹ For out of the heart come forth evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies. ²⁰ These are the things which defile a man, but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile a man."

¹⁵ There is nothing from outside a man, that entering into him, can defile him; but the things which come out of him, those are the things that defile a man.

³⁸ And when the Pharisee saw it, he marveled that He had not first washed before the meal. ³⁹ But the Lord said to him, "Now you Pharisees clean the outside of the cup and of the dish, but the inside of you is full of greed and evil. ⁴⁰ Fools! Did not He who made the outside also make the inside? ⁴¹ Nevertheless give what is inside as alms; and see, all things are clean to you.

¹⁴ But Peter said, "By no means, Lord! For never did I eat anything common or unclean." ¹⁵ And a voice spoke again the second time to him, "That which God has made clean, you must not make common."

⁸ "But I said, 'By no means, Lord! For nothing common or unclean has ever entered into my mouth.' ⁹ "But the voice answered me a second time from heaven, 'What God has made clean, you must not call common.'

¹³ "Their throat is an opened grave; with their tongues they deceived"; " the poison of asps is under their lips"; ¹⁴ "Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness.

¹⁴ I know and am convinced in the Lord Jesus that nothing is unclean of itself; except to him considering anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean.

¹⁷ For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

²⁰ Do not destroy the work of God for the sake of food. All things indeed are clean, but are evil for the man eating with offense.

⁴ Because every creature of God is good, and not one is to be rejected, being received with thanksgiving, ⁵ for it is sanctified through the word of God and prayer.

¹⁵ All things indeed are pure to the pure; but to those who are defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure; but even their mind and conscience have been defiled.

⁵ Even so the tongue is a small member and it boasts great things. See how great a forest a little fire kindles! ⁶ And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. Thus the tongue is set among our members, as that which defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell. ⁷ For every kind of both beasts and birds, of both reptiles and sea creatures, is tamed and has been tamed by mankind. ⁸ But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unrestrainable evil, full of deadly poison.

¹⁸ For when they speak haughty words of emptiness, they entice through the lusts of the flesh, through lewdness, those who are escaping from those who are living in error,

¹³ And the messenger that went to call Micaiah spoke to him, saying, Behold now, all the prophets speak good things with one mouth concerning the king; let now your words be like the words of one of them, and speak good things. ¹⁴ And Micaiah said, As the Lord lives, whatsoever the Lord shall say to me, that will I speak.

²⁷ Nevertheless, lest we offend them, go to the sea, and cast in a hook, and take the first fish coming up. And when you have opened its mouth, you will find a coin; taking that, give it to them for Me and you."

³² Be without offense, both toward Jews and toward Greeks, and toward the church of God, ³³ just as I also please all men in all things, not seeking my own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.

³ We give no occasion for offense in anything, lest the ministry be blamed,

⁵ to whom not even for an hour did we yield in subjection, that the truth of the gospel might remain with you.

¹⁷ But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.

¹³ They that are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God.

²¹ Your people also shall be all righteous; they shall inherit the land forever, preserving that which they have planted, even the works of their hands, for glory.

³ that there should be given to them that mourn in Zion glory instead of ashes, the oil of joy to the mourners, the garment of glory for the spirit of heaviness; and they shall be called generations of righteousness, the planting of the Lord for glory.

⁴⁰ Therefore just as the tares are gathered and burned with fire, thus it will be at the end of this age. ⁴¹ The Son of Man will send forth His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who work iniquity,

² Every branch in Me which does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch which bears fruit He prunes, so that it may bear more fruit.

⁶ If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out like a branch and dries up; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.

⁹ For we are coworkers with God; you are God's field, you are God's building.

¹² Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, ¹³ each one's work shall be made manifest; for the Day shall reveal it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall test each one's work, as to what sort it is. ¹⁴ If anyone's work which he has built remains, he shall receive a reward. ¹⁵ If anyone's work is burned up, he shall suffer loss; but he himself shall be saved, but so as through fire.

¹⁶ And they that pronounce this people blessed shall mislead them; and they mislead them that they may devour them.

¹⁹ And who is blind, but My servants? And who is deaf, but those that rule over them? Yes, the servants of God have been made blind.

¹⁰ See how they are all blinded; they have not known; they are dumb dogs that will not bark; dreaming of rest, loving to slumber.

³¹ the prophets utter unrighteous prophecies, and the priests have clapped their hands, and My people have loved it! And what will you do for the future?

¹⁵ They were ashamed because they failed; yet they were not ashamed as those who were truly ashamed, and they knew not their own disgrace; therefore shall they utterly fall when they do fall, and in the time of visitation shall they perish, says the Lord.

⁹ And if a prophet should cause to err and should speak, I the Lord have caused that prophet to err, and I will stretch out My hand upon him, and will utterly destroy him from the midst of My people Israel. ¹⁰ And they shall bear their iniquity according to the trespass of him that asks; and it shall be in like manner to the prophet according to the trespass,

¹⁷ Ephraim, joined with idols, has laid stumbling blocks in his own way.

⁶ therefore there shall be night to you instead of a vision, and there shall be to you darkness instead of prophecy; and the sun shall go down upon the prophets, and the day shall be dark upon them. ⁷ And the seers of night visions shall be ashamed, and the prophets shall be laughed to scorn: and all the people shall speak against them, because there shall be none to listen to them.

⁸ But you have turned aside from the way, and caused many to fail in following the law: you have corrupted the covenant of Levi, says the Lord Almighty.

¹⁶ Woe to you, blind guides, who say, 'Whoever swears by the temple, it is nothing; but whoever swears by the gold of the temple, is obligated.' ¹⁷ "Fools and blind! For which is greater, the gold or the temple that sanctifies the gold? ¹⁸ And, 'Whoever swears by the altar, it is nothing; but whoever swears by the gift that is on it, is obligated.' ¹⁹ "Fools and blind! For which is greater, the gift or the altar that sanctifies the gift? ²⁰ Therefore he that swears by the altar, swears by it and by all the things on it. ²¹ He that swears by the temple, swears by it and by Him who dwelt in it. ²² And he that swears by heaven, swears by the throne of God and by Him who sits on it. ²³ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you pay tithes of mint and dill and cummin, and have neglected the more important things of the law: justice and mercy and faith. These things you should have done, and not have neglected the others. ²⁴ Blind guides, you who strain out a gnat, but swallow a camel!

³⁹ And He spoke a parable to them: "Can the blind lead the blind? Will they not both fall into the ditch?

⁵ constant wranglings of men of corrupt minds and having been deprived of the truth, supposing that godliness is a means of profit. Withdraw from such people.

¹ But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master, the One having bought them, and bringing upon themselves swift destruction.

¹⁷ These are waterless wells, clouds being driven by a storm, for whom the darkness of the netherworld has been reserved forever.

²⁰ Then the Beast was apprehended, and with him the False Prophet who had performed the signs before him, by which he had deceived those who received the mark of the Beast and those who worshipped his image. These two were thrown alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone.

¹⁵ But outside are dogs and drug users and fornicators and murderers and idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices a lie.

³⁶ Then having dismissed the crowds, Jesus went into the house. And His disciples came to Him, saying, "Explain to us the parable of the tares of the field."

³⁴ And apart from a parable He did not speak to them, however, privately to His disciples, he would explain all things.

¹⁷ When He had entered a house away from the crowd, His disciples were asking Him about the parable.

²⁹ His disciples said to Him, "See, now You are speaking plainly, and using no figure of speech!

⁹ To whom have we reported evils? And to whom have we reported a message? Even to those that are weaned from the milk, who are drawn from the breast. ¹⁰ Except affliction on affliction, hope upon hope; yet a little, and yet a little,

⁵¹ Jesus said to them, "Have you understood all these things?" They said to Him, "Yes, Lord."

¹⁰ And having summoned the crowd, He said to them, "Hear and understand:

⁹ Do you not yet perceive, or remember the five loaves of the five thousand and how many baskets you took up?

¹¹ How is it you do not perceive that I did not speak to you about bread, but to beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees?"

⁵² For they had not understood concerning the loaves, because their heart was hardened.

¹⁸ So He said to them, "Are you also without understanding? Do you not understand that everything entering a man from outside cannot defile him,

¹⁷ But Jesus, knowing about it, said to them, "Why are you reasoning because you have no bread? Do you not yet perceive or understand? Is your heart still hardened? ¹⁸ Having eyes, do you not see? And having ears, do you not hear? And do you not remember?

³² But they did not understand this saying, and were afraid to ask Him.

⁴⁵ But they did not understand this saying, and it was concealed from them so that they did not perceive it; and they were afraid to ask Him about this saying.

³⁴ But they understood none of these things; this saying was hidden from them, and they did not know what was being said.

¹² For indeed, although you ought to be teachers by this time, again you have need for someone to teach you what are the elements of the beginning of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food.

²⁷ And they tore down the pillars of Baal, and made his house a refuse dump to this day.

¹⁹ Every tree not producing good fruit is cut down and cast into the fire. ²⁰ Consequently, by their fruits you shall know them.

⁴⁵ A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth that which is evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.

¹³ Foods for the stomach and the stomach for foods, but God will destroy both this stomach and these foods. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.

^{13 (24:14)} As the old proverb says, Transgression will proceed from the wicked ones; but my hand shall not be upon you.

³ The words of his mouth are transgression and deceit; he is not inclined to understand how to do good.

¹² A foolish man and a transgressor goes in ways that are not good.

³² The lips of just men drop grace, but the mouth of the ungodly is perverse.

² The tongue of the wise knows what is good, but the mouth of the foolish speaks evil things.

²⁸ The hearts of the righteous meditate faithfulness, but the mouth of the ungodly answers evil things. ^(15:28A) The ways of righteous men are acceptable with the Lord, and through them even enemies become friends.

⁵ And a mouth was given to him speaking great things and blasphemy, and authority was given to him to make war for forty-two months. ⁶ Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, and His dwelling, and those who dwell in heaven.

^{5 (6:6)} And the Lord God, having seen that the wicked actions of men were multiplied upon the earth, and that everyone in his heart was intently brooding over evil continually,

²¹ And the Lord God smelled an aroma of sweetness, and the Lord God having considered, said, I will never again curse the earth, because of the works of men, because the imagination of man is intently bent upon evil things from his youth, I will never again smite all living flesh as I have done.

¹¹³ I have hated transgressors; but I have loved Your law.

²³ Keep your heart with the utmost care, for out of these are the issues of life.

¹⁴ His perverse heart devises evils: at all times such a one causes troubles to a city.

¹⁵ Folly is attached to the heart of a child, but the rod and instruction are then far from him.

⁹ The fools also dies in sins, and uncleanness attaches to a pestilent man.

⁷ let the ungodly leave his ways, and the transgressor his counsels; and let him return to the Lord, and he shall find mercy; for He shall abundantly pardon your sins.

⁷ And their feet run to wickedness, and are swift to shed blood; their thoughts also are thoughts of murder; destruction and misery are in their ways;

¹⁴ Cleanse your heart from wickedness, O Jerusalem, that you may be saved; how long will your grievous thoughts be within you?

⁹ The heart is deep beyond all things, and it constitutes the man, and who can know him?

⁴ But Jesus, perceiving their thoughts, said, "Why do you think evil in your hearts?

²² Repent therefore from this your wickedness, and make petition to God, if perhaps the intent of your heart will be forgiven you.

¹⁰ Just as it is written: "There is none righteous, no not one, ¹¹ There is none who understands; there is none who seeks God. ¹² All have turned aside; together they became unprofitable; there is not one doing kindness, there is not so much as one." ¹³ "Their throat is an opened grave; with their tongues they deceived"; " the poison of asps is under their lips"; ¹⁴ "Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness. ¹⁵ Their feet are swift to shed blood; ¹⁶ Ruin and misery are in their ways; ¹⁷ And the way of peace they did not know. ¹⁸ There is no fear of God before their eyes." ¹⁹ Now we know that as many things as the law says, it speaks to those under the law, so that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.

¹⁸ For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but how to do the good, I do not find.

⁷ Therefore the mind of the flesh is enmity against God; for it does not submit to the law of God, nor indeed can it. ⁸ And those that are in the flesh cannot please God.

¹⁹ Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are: adultery, fornication, immorality, lewdness, ²⁰ idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, factions, ²¹ envies, murders, drinking bouts, revelries, and the like; which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

¹ And you He made alive, being dead in transgressions and sins, ² in which you once walked according to the age of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit which is now working in the sons of disobedience, ³ among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the senses, and were by nature children of wrath, as also the rest.

² to slander no one, to be peaceable, gentle, demonstrating all meekness to all men. ³ For we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, being deceived, being enslaved to various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. ⁴ But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, ⁵ not by works of righteousness which we did, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, ⁶ whom He poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior,

¹³ Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. ¹⁴ But each one is tempted by his own lusts, being drawn away and being seduced by them. ¹⁵ Then lust, when it conceives, gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.

² "Why do Your disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands whenever they eat bread."

²⁵ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and unrighteousness. ²⁶ Blind Pharisee, first clean the inside of the cup and dish, so that the outside of them may be clean also.

³ For the Pharisees and all the Jews do not eat unless they wash their hands with their fist, holding the tradition of the elders. ⁴ And coming from the marketplace, unless they bathe, they do not eat. And there are many other things which they have received by tradition, like the washing of cups and pitchers, copper vessels and couches.

³⁸ And when the Pharisee saw it, he marveled that He had not first washed before the meal. ³⁹ But the Lord said to him, "Now you Pharisees clean the outside of the cup and of the dish, but the inside of you is full of greed and evil. ⁴⁰ Fools! Did not He who made the outside also make the inside?

¹⁶ Do you not know that you are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? ¹⁷ If anyone destroys the temple of God, God shall destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are.

⁹ Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, ¹⁰ nor covetous, nor thieves, nor drunkards, nor abusive people, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. ¹¹ And such were some of you! But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.

¹⁸ Flee fornication. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits fornication sins against his own body. ¹⁹ Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? ²⁰ For you were bought with a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's.

³ But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is fitting for saints; ⁴ neither wickedness, nor foolish talk or coarse jesting, which are not proper, but rather thanksgiving. ⁵ For this you know, that no fornicator, or unclean person, nor covetous person, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. ⁶ Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.

⁸ But the cowardly, and unbelieving, and sinners, and abominable, and murderers, and fornicators, and drug users, and idolaters, and all who are false shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death."

²⁷ But there shall by no means enter into it any common thing, and the one doing an abomination and a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb's Book of Life.

¹³ Zebulun shall dwell on the coast, and he shall be by a haven of ships, and shall extend to Sidon.

⁸ And the Lord delivered them into the power of Israel; and they struck them and pursued them to Great Sidon, and to Misrephoth, and to the plains of Mizpah eastward; and they destroyed them till there was not one of them left that survived.

⁶ everyone that inhabits the hill country from Lebanon as far as the Brook Misrephoth. All the Sidonians, I will destroy them from before Israel; but give them by inheritance to Israel, as I commanded you.

²⁸ Ebron, Rehob, Hammon, and Kanah, to Great Sidon. ²⁹ And the borders shall turn back to Ramah, and to the fountain of Masphassat, and the Tyrians; and the borders shall return to Jasiph, and their going forth shall be the sea, and Apoleb, and Achzib.

³¹ And Asher did not drive out the inhabitants of Accho, and those people became tributary to him, nor did he drive out the inhabitants of Dor, nor the inhabitants of Sidon, nor the inhabitants of Ahlab, nor Achzib, nor Helbah, nor Aphik, nor Rehob.

⁵ These twelve Jesus sent forth, commanding them, saying, "Do not go off into the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter a city of the Samaritans. ⁶ But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

²¹ "Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! Because if the miracles which were done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. ²² Nevertheless I say to you, it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the day of judgment than for you. ²³ And you, Capernaum, the one having been exalted to heaven, you will be brought down to Hades; because if the miracles which were done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained to this day.

²⁴ From there He arose and He went away into the region of Tyre and Sidon. And having entered into a house, He wanted no one to know it, but He was not able to escape notice. ²⁵ For a woman whose young daughter had an unclean spirit heard about Him, and she came and fell at His feet. ²⁶ Now the woman was a Greek, a Syro-Phoenician by race, and she was asking Him to cast the demon out from her daughter. ²⁷ But Jesus said to her, "Let the children be filled first, for it is not good to take the children's bread and throw it to the little dogs." ²⁸ And she answered and said to Him, "Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs underneath the table eat from the crumbs of the children." ²⁹ Then He said to her, "Because of this saying, go; the demon has gone out of your daughter." ³⁰ And going away to her house, she found the demon having gone out, and her daughter having been placed on the bed.

¹ For the end, A Song of David among the Psalms. When I called upon Him, the God of my righteousness heard me; You have made room for me in tribulation; pity me, and hearken to my prayer.

² Pity me, O Lord; for I am weak: heal me, O Lord; for my bones are vexed.

¹² And the daughter of Tyre shall adorn Him with gifts; the rich of the people of the land shall supplicate your favor.

⁶ neither to many nations of other speech and other tongues, nor of harsh language, whose words you would not understand; although if I had sent you to such, they would have hearkened to you.

¹ The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the Son of David, the Son of Abraham:

⁸ Therefore produce fruits worthy of repentance, ⁹ and do not think to say among yourselves, 'We have Abraham as our father.' For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham out of these stones.

²⁴ And the report of Him went throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all those were ill, suffering with various diseases and torments, and those who were demon-possessed, epileptics, and paralytics; and He healed them.

²⁷ And as Jesus passed by from there, two blind men followed Him, crying out and saying, "Son of David, have pity on us!"

¹⁵ "Lord, have pity on my son, for he is moonstruck and suffers severely; for he often falls into the fire and often into the water.

³⁰ And behold, two blind men sitting alongside the road, when they heard that Jesus was passing by, cried out, saying, "Have pity on us, O Lord, Son of David!" ³¹ But the crowd warned them that they should be silent; but they cried out all the more, saying, "Have pity on us, O Lord, Son of David!"

⁴² saying, "What do you think about the Christ? Whose Son is He?" They said to Him, "David's." ⁴³ He said to them, "How then does David in the Spirit call Him 'Lord,' saying: ⁴⁴ 'The LORD said to my Lord, "Sit at My right hand, till I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet" '? ⁴⁵ "If David therefore calls Him 'Lord,' how is He his Son?"

¹⁷ Then one of the crowd answered and said, "Teacher, I brought my son to You, because he has a mute spirit. ¹⁸ And wherever it seizes him, it throws him down, and he foams at the mouth, and gnashes his teeth, and he becomes rigid. So I spoke to Your disciples, that they might cast it out, but they were not able." ¹⁹ He answered him and said, "O unbelieving generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him to Me." ²⁰ Then they brought him to Him. And when he saw Him, immediately the spirit convulsed him, and having fallen on the ground he was rolling about, foaming at the mouth. ²¹ So He asked his father, "How long a time has it been that it has happened like this to him?" And he said, "From childhood. ²² And often it threw him both into the fire and into the waters so that it may destroy him. But if You are able to do anything, help us and have compassion on us."

¹³ And they lifted their voice and said, "Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!"

¹³ And the tax collector, standing far away, would not so much as lift his eyes towards heaven, but beat on his chest, saying, 'God, be merciful to me a sinner!'

³⁸ And he shouted, saying, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!" ³⁹ Then those who went before warned him that he should be quiet; but he cried out all the more, "Son of David, have pity on me!"

⁴¹ Others said, "This is the Christ." Others said, "But the Christ is not coming out of Galilee, is He? ⁴² Has not the Scripture said that the Christ comes from the seed of David and from the village of Bethlehem, where David was?"

⁷ And when Joseph saw his brothers, he knew them, and estranged himself from them, and spoke harsh words to them; and said to them, Where do you come from? And they said, Out of the land of Canaan, to buy food.

² And you shall remember all the way which the Lord your God has led you in the wilderness, that He might afflict you, and try you, and that the things in your heart might be made manifest, whether you would keep His commandments or not.

¹ A Psalm of David. To You, O Lord, have I cried; my God, be not silent toward me; lest You be silent toward me, and so I should be likened to them that go down to the pit.

⁸ ( { β}) GIMEL. Yea, though I cry and shout, He shuts out my prayer.

¹⁵ Now when evening came, His disciples came to Him, saying, "The place is deserted, and the hour is already late. Dismiss the crowds, that they may go to the villages and buy themselves food."

⁴⁷ And when he heard that it was Jesus the Nazarene, he began to cry out and say, "Jesus, Son of David, have pity on me!" ⁴⁸ And many rebuked him, that he should be silent. But he cried out all the more, "Jesus, Son of David, have pity on me!"

⁶ All we like sheep have gone astray; everyone has gone astray in his way; and the Lord gave Him up for our sins.

⁶ My people have been lost sheep; their shepherds thrust them out, they caused them to wander on the mountains; they went from mountain to hill, they forgot their resting place. ⁷ All that found them consumed them. Their enemies said, Let us not leave them alone, because they have sinned against the Lord. He that gathered their fathers had a pasture of righteousness.

⁵ And My sheep were scattered, because there were no shepherds: and they became meat to all the wild beasts of the field. ⁶ And My sheep were scattered on every mountain, and on every high hill; yea, they were scattered on the face of the earth, and there was none to seek them out, nor to bring them back.

¹⁶ I will seek that which is lost, and I will recover the stray one, and will bind up that which was broken, and will strengthen the fainting, and will guard the strong, and will feed them with judgment.

²³ And I will raise up one shepherd over them, and he shall tend them, even My servant David, and he shall be their shepherd;

⁴⁶ But Paul and Barnabas, speaking boldly said, "It was necessary for the word of God to be spoken to you first; but since you thrust it away, and judge yourselves not worthy of eternal life; behold, we turn to the Gentiles.

⁸ Now I say that Christ Jesus has become a servant to the circumcision for the truth of God, in order to confirm the promises to the fathers,

²⁶ And He said to him, Let Me go, for the day has dawned; but he said, I will not let You go, except You bless me.

⁴ And he prevailed with the Angel and was strong. They wept, and entreated Me: they found Me in the house of On, and there a word was spoken to them.

² And behold, a leper came and worshipped Him, saying, "Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean."

³³ Then those who were in the boat came and worshipped Him, saying, "Truly You are the Son of God."

³¹ But the crowd warned them that they should be silent; but they cried out all the more, saying, "Have pity on us, O Lord, Son of David!"

²² And often it threw him both into the fire and into the waters so that it may destroy him. But if You are able to do anything, help us and have compassion on us."

²⁴ And immediately crying out, the father of the child said with tears, "I believe, Lord; help my unbelief!"

⁸ I say to you, even if he will not get up and give to him, because he is his friend, yet on account of his persistence he will get up and give him as much as he needs. ⁹ "So I say to you, ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you. ¹⁰ For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.

¹ Then He spoke a parable to them, that one must always pray and not lose heart, ² saying: "A certain judge was in a certain city, who did not fear God nor have regard for men. ³ Now there was a widow in that city; and she kept coming to him, saying, 'Give justice to me against my adversary.' ⁴ And he did not want to for a time; but afterward he said within himself, 'although I do not fear God, nor have regard for man, ⁵ yet because this widow bothers me I will give justice to her, lest she wear me out by forever coming to me.' " ⁶ Then the Lord said, "Hear what the unjust judge said. ⁷ And God, shall He not execute justice for His own elect, who cry out day and night to Him, and yet He is patient with them? ⁸ I tell you that He will execute justice for them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?"

⁶ Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces.

²⁷ But Jesus said to her, "Let the children be filled first, for it is not good to take the children's bread and throw it to the little dogs." ²⁸ And she answered and said to Him, "Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs underneath the table eat from the crumbs of the children."

²¹ "Then He said to me, 'Go, for I will send you far away to the Gentiles.' " ²² Now they were listening to him until this statement, and they lifted their voice saying, "Take away such a man from the earth, for it is not fitting for him to live!"

⁴ who are Israelites, of whom are the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the law-giving, and the worship, and the promises;

¹⁵ We who are Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles,

¹² that at that time you were apart from Christ, being estranged from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers to the covenants of promise, not having hope and atheists in the world.

² Beware of the dogs, beware of the evil workers, beware of the false circumcision!

¹⁰ Let there be to me a sufficiency of all the justice and all the truth which You have wrought with Your servant; for with this my staff I passed over this Jordan, and now I have become two camps.

^{4 (39:34)} Why do I yet plead? Being rebuked even while reproving the Lord: hearing such things, whereas I am nothing: and what shall I answer to these arguments? I will lay my hand upon my mouth. ^{5 (39:35)} I have spoken once, but I will not do so a second time.

² I know that You can do all things, and nothing is impossible with You. ³ For who is he that hides counsel from You? Or who keeps back his words, and thinks to hide them from You? And who will tell me what I knew not, great and wonderful things which I understood not? ⁴ But hear me, O Lord, that I also may speak: and I will ask You, and You shall teach me. ⁵ I have heard the report of You by the ear before; but now my eye has seen You. ⁶ Therefore I have counted myself vile, and have fainted: and I esteem myself dust and ashes.

⁴ Against You alone have I sinned, and done evil before You; that You might be justified in Your words, and might overcome when You are judged. ⁵ For behold, I was conceived in iniquities, and in sins did my mother conceive me.

⁶³ that you may remember, and be ashamed, and may no more be able to open your mouth for your shame, when I am reconciled to you for all that you have done, says the Lord.

¹⁸ Incline Your ear, O my God, and hear; open Your eyes and behold our desolation, and that of the city which is called by Your name; for we do not bring our pitiful case before You on the grounds of our righteousness, but because of Your manifold compassions, O Lord.

⁴⁵ so that you may prove to be sons of your Father in heaven; because He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and He sends rain on the just and on the unjust.

⁸ The centurion answered and said, "Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But just say the word and my servant will be healed.

⁶ Then Jesus went with them. And when He was already not far away from the house, the centurion sent friends to Him, saying to Him, "Lord, do not trouble Yourself, for I am not worthy that You should enter under my roof. ⁷ Therefore I did not even consider myself worthy to come to You. But just say the word, and my servant shall be healed.

¹⁸ I will arise and go to my father, and I will say to him, "Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you, ¹⁹ and I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants." '

²¹ and longing to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table. And even the dogs came and would lick his sores.

⁴⁰ But the other, answering, rebuked him, saying, "Do you not even fear God, seeing you are under the same condemnation? ⁴¹ And we indeed justly, for we are receiving the due reward of our deeds; but this Man did nothing wrong." ⁴² Then he said to Jesus, "Lord, remember me when You come in Your kingdom."

⁴ Certainly not! Indeed, let God be true but every man a liar, just as it is written: "That You may be justified in Your words, and You may overcome when You are judged."

¹⁹ Now we know that as many things as the law says, it speaks to those under the law, so that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.

²⁹ Or is He the God of the Jews only? But is He not also the God of the Gentiles? Yes, also of Gentiles,

¹² For there is no difference between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord of all is rich to all who call upon Him.

⁸ And last of all, as of one born out of due time, He appeared to me also. ⁹ For I am the least of the apostles, who am not worthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.

⁸ To me, the very least of all the saints, this grace was given, to preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ,

¹⁹ and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

¹³ I, who was formerly a blasphemer, a persecutor, and an insolent man; but I was shown mercy because, being ignorant, I did it in unbelief, ¹⁴ and the grace of our Lord superabounded with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. ¹⁵ Faithful is this word, and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am first.

³⁰ Therefore thus says the Lord God of Israel: I said, Your house and the house of your father shall pass before Me forever: but now the Lord says, Far be it from Me; for I will only honor them that honor Me, and he that despises Me shall be despised.

¹⁵ Though the Mighty One should lay His hand upon me, forasmuch as He has begun, verily I will speak, and plead before Him.

¹⁰ For He already knows my way, and He has tried me as gold.

¹⁹ He will perform the desire of them that fear Him: and He will hear their supplication, and save them.

³² ( { λ}) CHAPH. For He that has brought down will pity, and that according to the abundance of His mercy.

¹⁰ When Jesus heard it, He marveled, and said to those who were following, "Assuredly, I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!

¹³ Then Jesus said to the centurion, "Go; and as you believed, may it be unto you." And his servant was healed that same hour.

²² But Jesus, turning around and seeing her, said, "Take courage, daughter; your faith has healed you." And the woman was healed from that hour.

²⁹ Then He touched their eyes, saying, "According to your faith, let it be unto you." ³⁰ And their eyes were opened. And Jesus sternly warned them, saying, "See that you let no one know."

³¹ And immediately, Jesus reaching out His hand, laid hold of him, and said to him, "O you of little faith, why did you doubt?"

³⁴ And He said to her, "Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction."

²³ Jesus said to him, "If you are able to believe: all things are possible to him that believes." ²⁴ And immediately crying out, the father of the child said with tears, "I believe, Lord; help my unbelief!"

⁹ When Jesus heard these things, He marveled at him, and turning to the crowd following Him, He said, "I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!"

⁵⁰ Then He said to the woman, "Your faith has saved you. Go in peace."

⁵ And the apostles said to the Lord, "Increase our faith."

⁴² Then Jesus said to him, "Receive your sight; your faith has made you well." ⁴³ And immediately he received his sight, and was following Him, glorifying God. And all the people, when they saw this, gave praise to God.

⁵⁰ Jesus said to him, "Go; your son lives." And the man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him, and went away. ⁵¹ And already as he was going, his servants met him and reported, saying, "Your child lives!" ⁵² Then he inquired from them the hour at which he got better. And they said to him, "Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him." ⁵³ Therefore the father knew that it was at the same hour in which Jesus said to him, "Your son lives." And he himself believed, and his whole household.

¹⁹ And not weakening in faith, he did not consider his own body, already having been worn out (being about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah's womb, ²⁰ he did not waver at the promise of God in unbelief, but was empowered by faith, giving glory to God,

³ We are obligated to give thanks to God always for you, brothers, and rightfully so, because your faith grows exceedingly, and the love of every one of you all increases towards one another,

³ And the Arabah as far as the Sea of Chinneroth eastward, and as far as the Sea of the Arabah; the Salt Sea eastward by the way to Beth Jeshimoth, from Taman below the slopes of Pisgah.

¹ Drink this first. Act quickly, O land of Zebulun, land of Naphtali, and the rest that inhabit the seacoast, and the land beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles.

¹⁸ Now as He was walking alongside the Sea of Galilee, He saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen.

¹ And seeing the crowds, He went up into the mountain, and after He had sat down, His disciples approached Him.

² And great crowds were gathered together to Him, so that He got into the boat and sat; and the crowd stood on the shore.

²⁹ And moving on from there, Jesus came alongside the Sea of Galilee, and going up into a mountain, He sat down there. ³⁰ And great crowds came to Him, having with them the lame, blind, mute, maimed, and many others; and they put them down at Jesus' feet, and He healed them. ³¹ So the multitude marveled when they saw the mute speaking, the maimed made whole, the lame walking, and the blind seeing; and they glorified the God of Israel.

¹⁶ And as He was walking alongside the Sea of Galilee, He saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen.

³¹ Again, coming out from the region of Tyre and Sidon, He went to the Sea of Galilee, in the midst of the region of Decapolis. ³² Then they brought to Him a deaf man impeded in speech, and they begged Him that He would lay His hand upon him. ³³ And when he had taken him aside from the crowd privately, He put His fingers in his ears, and having spit, He touched his tongue. ³⁴ Then looking up into heaven, He sighed, and said to him, "Ephphatha," that is, "Be opened." ³⁵ Immediately his ears were opened, and the bond of his tongue was loosed, and he was speaking correctly. ³⁶ And He ordered them that they should tell no one; but the more He ordered them, the more exceedingly they would proclaim it. ³⁷ And they were astonished beyond measure, saying, "He has done all things well. He makes both the deaf to hear and the mute to speak."

¹ Now it came to pass, while the crowd pressed upon Him to hear the word of God, that He stood by the Lake of Gennesaret,

¹ After these things Jesus went over the Sea of Galilee, that is, of Tiberias.

²³ however, other boats came from Tiberias, near the place where they ate bread after the Lord had given thanks--

¹ After these things Jesus showed Himself again to the disciples at the Sea of Tiberias, and in this manner He showed Himself:

³ who forgives all your transgressions, who heals all your diseases;

⁵ Then shall the eyes of the blind be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall hear. ⁶ Then shall the lame man leap as a deer, and the tongue of the stammerers shall speak plainly; for water has burst forth in the desert, and a channel of water in a thirsty land.

²³ And Jesus went about all of Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every disease and every illness among the people. ²⁴ And the report of Him went throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all those were ill, suffering with various diseases and torments, and those who were demon-possessed, epileptics, and paralytics; and He healed them.

⁴ Jesus answered and said to them, "Go and report to John the things which you hear and see: ⁵ The blind receive sight, and the lame walk; the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear; the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.

³⁵ And when the men of that place recognized Him, they sent out into all that surrounding region, and they brought to Him all those who were ill, ³⁶ and begged Him that they might only touch the hem of His garment. And as many as touched Him were completely healed.

³² Now when evening came, when the sun set, they were bringing to Him all those who were ill, and those being demon-possessed. ³³ And the whole city was gathered together at the door. ³⁴ And He healed many who were ill with various diseases, and He cast out many demons; and He did not allow the demons to speak, because they knew Him.

⁵⁴ And when they came out of the boat, immediately having recognized Him, ⁵⁵ running about that whole surrounding region, they began to carry about on beds those who were ill to wherever they would hear that He was. ⁵⁶ And wherever He would enter into villages, or towns, or the country, they laid the sick in the marketplaces, and they would beg Him at least that they might touch the hem of His garment. And as many as touched Him were healed.

¹⁷ And having come down with them, He stood on a level place, with a crowd of His disciples and a great multitude of people from all Judea and Jerusalem, and from the seacoast of Tyre and Sidon, who came to hear Him and be healed of their diseases, ¹⁸ as well as those who were tormented by unclean spirits, and they were being healed. ¹⁹ And all the crowd was trying to touch Him, because power was going out from Him, and was healing them all.

²¹ And in that very hour He healed many from diseases, and torments, and evil spirits; and to many blind people He granted sight. ²² Then Jesus answered and said to them, "Go and report to John what you have seen and heard: that the blind regain sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, the poor are evangelized.

²² "Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a Man attested by God to you by miracles, wonders, and signs which God did through Him in your midst, just as you yourselves also know--

¹⁵ so that they were bringing the sick and placing them on couches and pallets, so that as Peter was passing, at least his shadow might overshadow some of them. ¹⁶ And also the multitude from the surrounding cities were coming together into Jerusalem, bringing the sick and those who were tormented by unclean spirits, who were all being healed.

¹¹ And God was doing extraordinary miracles by the hands of Paul, ¹² so that even handkerchiefs or aprons from his skin were brought to those who were sick, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out from them.

²⁸ And He said to him, Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel shall be your name; for you have prevailed with God, and shall be mighty with men.

²⁰ And he set up an altar there, and called on the God of Israel.

¹⁰ And they saw the place where the God of Israel stood; and under His feet was as it were a work of sapphire slabs, and as it were the appearance of the firmament of heaven in its purity.

¹⁵ And call upon Me in the day of affliction; and I shall deliver you, and you shall glorify Me. Pause.

²³ The sacrifice of praise will glorify Me; and that is the way in which I will show to him the salvation of God.

⁸ Now when the crowds saw, they marveled and glorified God, who had given such authority to men.

³³ And when the demon was cast out, the mute spoke. And the crowds marveled, saying, "It was never seen like this in Israel!"

⁸ And if your hand or your foot causes you to stumble, cut them off and cast them from you. It is better for you to enter into life lame or maimed, than having two hands or two feet, to be thrown into the eternal fire.

¹⁴ Then the lame and the blind came to Him in the temple, and He healed them.

¹² And immediately he arose, and taking his pallet, he went out before them all, so that all were amazed and glorified God, saying, "We never saw anything like this!"

³⁷ And they were astonished beyond measure, saying, "He has done all things well. He makes both the deaf to hear and the mute to speak."

⁴³ If your hand causes you to stumble, cut it off. It would be better for you to enter into life maimed, than to enter having two hands, to go into hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched--

¹⁶ Then fear took hold of all, and they were glorifying God, saying, "A great prophet has risen up among us"; and, "God has visited His people."

¹³ But whenever you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind;

²¹ So that servant came and reported these things to his master. Then the master of the house, being angry, said to his servant, 'Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in here the poor and the maimed and the lame and the blind.'

¹⁵ And one of them, seeing that he was healed, turned back, glorifying God with a loud voice, ¹⁶ and fell down on his face at His feet, thanking Him. And he was a Samaritan. ¹⁷ So Jesus answered and said, "Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine? ¹⁸ Were not any found returning to give glory to God except this foreigner?"

⁴³ And immediately he received his sight, and was following Him, glorifying God. And all the people, when they saw this, gave praise to God.

²⁴ Therefore they called a second time the man who was blind, and said to him, "Give glory to God! We know that this Man is a sinner."

² And a man lame from his mother's womb was being carried, whom they would lay each day at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms from those who entered the temple; ³ who, when he saw Peter and John about to enter into the temple, began asking for alms. ⁴ And looking intently on him, Peter together with John, said "Look at us." ⁵ And he fixed his attention on them, expecting to receive something from them. ⁶ But Peter said, "Silver and gold I do not have, but that which I do have, I give to you: In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, rise and walk." ⁷ And taking hold of him by his right hand, he raised him; and immediately his feet and ankles were strengthened. ⁸ So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered with them into the temple, walking and leaping, and praising God. ⁹ And all the people saw him walking and praising God. ¹⁰ Then they recognized that this was the one sitting for the alms at the Beautiful Gate of the temple; and they were filled with astonishment and amazement because of that which had happened to him. ¹¹ And while the lame man who had been healed held on to Peter and John, all the people ran together to them in the porch which is called Solomon's, utterly astonished.

⁸ And a certain man in Lystra, powerless in his feet, was sitting, lame from his mother's womb, who had never walked. ⁹ This man heard Paul speaking; who, gazing intently on him and seeing that he had that faith to be healed, ¹⁰ said with a loud voice, "Stand up straight on your feet!" And he was jumping and walking about.

²⁸ And one of the people answered and said, Your father solemnly adjured the people, saying, Cursed is the man who shall eat bread today. And the people were very faint, ²⁹ and Jonathan knew it, and said, My father has destroyed the land: see how my eyes have received sight now that I have tasted a little of this honey. ³⁰ Surely if the people had this day eaten freely of the spoils of their enemies which they found, the slaughter among the Philistines would have been greater. ³¹ And on that day he struck some of the Philistines in Michmash; and the people were very weary.

¹¹ And they found an Egyptian in the field, and they took him, and brought him to David. And they gave him bread and he ate, and they caused him to drink water. ¹² And they gave him a piece of a cake of figs, and he ate, and his spirit was restored in him; for he had not eaten bread, and had not drunk water three days and three nights.

³² "For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. ³³ But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

⁴⁰ For just as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

¹⁴ And coming out, Jesus saw a large crowd, and He was moved with compassion towards them, and healed their sick. ¹⁵ Now when evening came, His disciples came to Him, saying, "The place is deserted, and the hour is already late. Dismiss the crowds, that they may go to the villages and buy themselves food." ¹⁶ But Jesus said to them, "They do not need to go away. You give them food to eat." ¹⁷ And they said to Him, "We do not have anything here except five loaves of bread and two fish." ¹⁸ But He said, "Bring them here to Me." ¹⁹ And commanding the crowds to recline on the grass, taking the five loaves of bread and the two fish, looking up to heaven, He blessed, and breaking them, He gave the loaves to the disciples; and the disciples gave to the crowds. ²⁰ So they all ate and were satisfied, and they took up what they had left of the fragments, twelve baskets full. ²¹ Now those who had eaten were about five thousand men, apart from women and children.

³⁴ And Jesus, having compassion, touched their eyes, and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed Him.

⁶³ saying, "Sir, we remember that that deceiver said while He was still alive, 'After three days I will rise.'

¹ In those days, when a great crowd had gathered, and not having anything to eat, Jesus, having summoned His disciples and said to them, ² I have compassion on the crowd, because they have been remaining with Me three days and have nothing to eat. ³ And if I dismiss them hungry to their own houses, they will faint on the way; for some of them have come from a distance." ⁴ Then His disciples answered Him, "From where will anyone be able to satisfy these people with bread here in this deserted place?" ⁵ He asked them, "How many loaves do you have?" And they said, "Seven." ⁶ So He commanded the crowd to recline on the ground. And He took the seven loaves and having given thanks, He broke them and was giving them to His disciples, so that they might set them before the people; and they set them before the crowd. ⁷ And they had a few small fish; and having blessed them, He said to set them before the people. ⁸ So they ate and were filled, and they took up an abundance of fragments, seven hampers full. ⁹ Now those having eaten were about four thousand. And He dismissed them. ¹⁰ And immediately stepping into the boat with His disciples, He came to the region of Dalmanutha.

¹³ When the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her and said to her, "Do not weep."

²⁹ And do not seek what you may eat or what you may drink, and do not be anxious. ³⁰ For all these things the nations of the world seek after, but your Father knows that you need these things.

³³ And until the time was about to be day, Paul was urging them all to receive their share of food, saying, "Today is the fourteenth day you continue waiting without eating, having taken nothing.

¹⁵ For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but having been tempted in all respects in quite the same way as we are, yet without sin.

²¹ And Moses said, The people whom I am among are six hundred thousand footmen; and You said, I will give them meat to eat, and they shall eat a whole month. ²² Shall sheep and oxen be slain for them, and shall it suffice them? Or shall all the fish of the sea be gathered together for them, and shall it suffice them?

⁴² And there came a man over from Baal Shalisha, and brought to the man of God twenty barley loaves and cakes of figs, of the firstfruits. And he said, Give to the people, and let them eat. ⁴³ And his servant said, Why should I set this before a hundred men? And he said, Give to the people, and let them eat; for thus says the Lord: They shall eat and have some left over. ⁴⁴ So they ate, and had some left over, according to the word of the Lord.

³⁷ But answering, He said to them, "You give them something to eat." And they said to Him, "Shall we go and buy two hundred denarii worth of bread and give them something to eat?"

⁴ Then His disciples answered Him, "From where will anyone be able to satisfy these people with bread here in this deserted place?" ⁵ He asked them, "How many loaves do you have?" And they said, "Seven."

¹³ But He said to them, "You give them something to eat." And they said, "We have no more than five loaves of bread and two fish, unless we go and buy food for all these people."

⁵ Then Jesus lifted up His eyes, and seeing that a large crowd was coming toward Him, He said to Philip, "Where shall we buy bread, that these people may eat?" ⁶ But this He said to test him, for He Himself knew what He was about to do. ⁷ Philip answered Him, "Two hundred denarii worth of bread is not enough for them, that each of them might receive a little." ⁸ One of His disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, said to Him, ⁹ There is a little boy here who has five barley loaves and two small fish, but what are they for so many?"

⁹ Do you not yet perceive, or remember the five loaves of the five thousand and how many baskets you took up? ¹⁰ Nor the seven loaves of the four thousand and how many hampers you took up?

⁴¹ But as they still disbelieved for joy, and marveled, He said to them, "Do you have any food here?" ⁴² So they gave Him a piece of a broiled fish and some honeycomb.

⁹ Then as they got off onto the land, they saw a charcoal fire laid there, and fish placed on it, and bread. ¹⁰ Jesus said to them, "Bring some of the fish which you have just caught."

³⁹ Then He gave orders for them all to recline in groups on the green grass. ⁴⁰ And they reclined in parties of hundreds and of fifties.

¹⁴ For there were about five thousand men. And He said to His disciples, "Make them recline in groups of fifty." ¹⁵ And they did so, and made them all recline. ¹⁶ And taking the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke them, and gave them to the disciples to set before the crowd.

¹⁰ Then Jesus said, "Make the people to recline." Now there was much grass in that place. Therefore the men reclined, in number about five thousand.

¹³ As soon as you shall enter into the city, so shall you find him in the city, before he goes up to the high place to eat; for the people will not eat until he comes in, for he blesses the sacrifice, and afterwards the guests eat. Now then go up, for you shall find him because of the holiday.

¹⁹ And commanding the crowds to recline on the grass, taking the five loaves of bread and the two fish, looking up to heaven, He blessed, and breaking them, He gave the loaves to the disciples; and the disciples gave to the crowds.

²⁶ And as they were eating, Jesus took the bread, and giving thanks, He broke it, and gave it to the disciples and said, "Take, eat; this is My body." ²⁷ Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, "Drink of it, all of you,

¹⁷ Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, "Take this and divide it among yourselves;

¹⁹ And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, "This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me."

³⁰ Now it came to pass, as He was reclining to eat with them, having taken bread, He blessed and broke it, and He gave it to them.

¹¹ And Jesus took the loaves, and having given thanks He distributed them to the disciples, and the disciples to those who were reclining; and likewise of the fish, as much as they wished.

³⁵ And having said these things and having taken bread, he gave thanks to God in the presence of all, and having broken it, he began to eat.

⁶ He that regards the day, regards it to the Lord; and he that does not regard the day, to the Lord he does not regard it. And he that eats, eats to the Lord, for he gives thanks to God; and he that does not eat, to the Lord he does not eat, and he gives thanks to God.

³¹ Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all things for the glory of God.

³ forbidding to marry, commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who are believers and have come to know the truth. ⁴ Because every creature of God is good, and not one is to be rejected, being received with thanksgiving,

⁹ For He satisfies the empty soul, and fills the hungry soul with good things,

³³ Then His disciples said to Him, "Where could we get so many loaves of bread in this deserted place, so as to satisfy so great a crowd?"

⁸ So they ate and were filled, and they took up an abundance of fragments, seven hampers full. ⁹ Now those having eaten were about four thousand. And He dismissed them.

¹⁹ When I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many baskets full of fragments did you take up?" They said to Him, "Twelve." ²⁰ "And when I broke the seven for the four thousand, how many hampers full of fragments did you take up?" And they said, "Seven." ²¹ So He said to them, "How is it you do not understand?"

⁵³ He has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich He has sent away empty.

²² And immediately Jesus compelled the disciples to get into the boat, and to go ahead of Him to the other side, until He could dismiss the crowds.

¹⁰ And immediately stepping into the boat with His disciples, He came to the region of Dalmanutha.
