¹ Then Jesus went out and departed from the temple, and His disciples came to Him to point out to Him the buildings of the temple.

⁸ You shall be chastened, O Jerusalem, with pain and the scourge, lest My soul depart from you; lest I make you a desert land, which shall not be inhabited.

⁶ And He said to me, Son of man, have you seen what these people do? They commit great abominations here, so that I should keep away from My sanctuary; and you shall see even greater iniquities.

¹⁷ When they stood, the wheels stood; and when they mounted up, the wheels mounted up with them, because the spirit of life was in them. ¹⁸ Then the glory of the Lord departed from the house, and went up on the cherubim. ¹⁹ And the cherubim lifted up their wings, and mounted up from the earth in my sight. When they went forth, the wheels were also beside them, and they stood at the entrance of the front gate of the house of the Lord; and the glory of the God of Israel was upon them above.

²² Then the cherubim lifted up their wings, and the wheels beside them; and the glory of the God of Israel was over them above. ²³ And the glory of the Lord went up from the midst of the city, and stood on the mountain which was in front of the city.

¹² For even if they should rear their children, yet shall they be utterly bereaved. Wherefore also there is woe to them, though My flesh is of them.

²³ Now as He came into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people confronted Him as He was teaching, and said, "By what authority are You doing these things? And who gave You this authority?"

³⁹ For I say to you, you shall by no means see Me from now until you say, 'Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD!' "

¹ And as He was going out from the temple, one of His disciples said to Him, "Teacher, see what sort of stones and what sort of buildings!" ² And Jesus answered and said to him, "Do you see these great buildings? By no means shall one stone be left upon another, which shall in any way escape destruction." ³ And He was sitting on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter, James, John, and Andrew asked Him privately, ⁴ Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign when all these things are about to be fulfilled?" ⁵ And Jesus, answering them, began to say: "Take heed lest anyone deceive you. ⁶ For many will come in My name, saying, 'I AM,' and they will deceive many. ⁷ But whenever you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be disturbed; for these things must occur, but the end is not yet. ⁸ For nation will be raised up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be earthquakes in various places, and there will be famines and disturbances. These are the beginnings of birth pangs. ⁹ But take heed to yourselves, for they will deliver you up to councils, and you will be flogged in the synagogues. You will stand before rulers and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them. ¹⁰ And the gospel must first be proclaimed to all the nations. ¹¹ But whenever they lead you forth to deliver you over, do not worry beforehand as to what you will say, nor rack your brains. But whatever is given you in that hour, speak this; for it is not you who is speaking, but the Holy Spirit. ¹² Now brother will deliver up brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and will cause them to be put to death. ¹³ And you will be hated by all on account of My name. But he who endures to the end shall be saved. ¹⁴ "So whenever you see the 'abomination of desolation,' spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where he must not"--he who reads, let him understand--"then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. ¹⁵ And let him on the housetop not go down into the house, nor enter to take anything out of his house. ¹⁶ And let him who is in the field not return to the things behind, to take his garment. ¹⁷ But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! ¹⁸ And pray that your flight does not take place in winter. ¹⁹ For in those days will be tribulation, such as there has not been the like from the beginning of creation which God created until now, and never again shall be. ²⁰ And unless the Lord had cut short the days, no flesh would be saved; but on account of the elect, whom He chose, He cut short the days. ²¹ Then if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Christ!' or, 'Look, there He is!' do not believe it. ²² For false christs and false prophets will arise, and they will give signs and wonders in order to lead astray, if possible, even the elect. ²³ But you take heed! See, I have foretold to you all things. ²⁴ "But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its radiance; ²⁵ and the stars of heaven shall be falling out, and the powers in the heavens shall be shaken. ²⁶ And then they shall see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. ²⁷ And then He will send His angels, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from the extremity of earth to the extremity of heaven. ²⁸ "Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender, and puts forth its leaves, you know that summer is near. ²⁹ So also you, when you see these things coming to pass, know that it is near--at the doors! ³⁰ Assuredly I say to you, that by no means will this generation have passed away until all these things have taken place. ³¹ The heaven and the earth shall pass away, but My words will by no means pass away. ³² "But concerning that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but the Father. ³³ Take heed, stay awake and pray; for you do not know when the time is. ³⁴ It is like a man going away on a journey, having left his house and having given authority to his servants, and to each his work, and commanded the doorkeeper that he should watch. ³⁵ Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming--at evening, or at midnight, or at dawn, or early in the morning-- ³⁶ lest having come suddenly, he should find you sleeping. ³⁷ And the things I say to you, I say to all: watch!"

⁵ Then, as some spoke about the temple, how it was adorned with beautiful stones and donations, He said, ⁶ These things which you see--the days will come in which not one stone shall be left upon another that shall not be thrown down." ⁷ So they asked Him, saying, "Teacher, so when will these things be? And what will be the sign when these things are about to happen?" ⁸ And He said: "Take heed that you not be deceived. For many will come in My name, saying, 'I am He,' and, 'The time has drawn near.' Therefore do not go after them. ⁹ But whenever you hear of wars and insurrections, do not be terrified; for these things must happen first, but the end will not come immediately." ¹⁰ Then He said to them, "Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. ¹¹ And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; and there will be fearful events and great signs from heaven. ¹² But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and they will persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons. You will be brought before kings and rulers on account of My name. ¹³ But it shall turn out for you for a testimony. ¹⁴ Put it then in your hearts not to practice beforehand giving your defense; ¹⁵ for I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries will not be able to contradict nor to withstand. ¹⁶ You will be betrayed even by parents and relatives, friends and brothers; and they will put some of you to death. ¹⁷ And you will be hated by all people for My name's sake. ¹⁸ But not a hair of your head shall by any means perish. ¹⁹ By your patient endurance you shall possess your souls. ²⁰ "But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation has drawn near. ²¹ Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those who are in the midst of her depart, and let not those who are in the fields enter into her. ²² For these are the days of vengeance, to fulfill all that has been written. ²³ But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing a baby in those days! For there will be great distress in the land and wrath among this people. ²⁴ And they will fall by the edge of the sword, and be led away captive into all nations. And Jerusalem will be trampled by Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled. ²⁵ "And there shall be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, as the sea and the waves roar, ²⁶ men's hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming upon the earth, for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. ²⁷ Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. ²⁸ Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near." ²⁹ Then He spoke to them a parable: "Look at the fig tree, and all the trees. ³⁰ When they are already budding, you see and know for yourselves that summer is now near. ³¹ So you also, when you see these things coming to pass, know that the kingdom of God is near. ³² Assuredly I say to you, this generation shall by no means pass away till all things are fulfilled. ³³ Heaven and earth shall pass away, but My words shall by no means pass away. ³⁴ "But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and worries of life, and that Day come upon you unexpectedly. ³⁵ For it will come as a snare on all those who live on the face of the whole earth. ³⁶ Watch therefore, praying always that you may be counted worthy to escape everything that is about to happen, and to stand before the Son of Man."

²⁰ Then the Jews said, "It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and will You raise it up in three days?"
