³⁵ And they did not serve You in Your kingdom, and in Your great goodness which You gave to them, and in the large and fat land which You furnished before them, and they turned not from their evil devices.

⁷ For the Lord your God will bring you into a good and extensive land, where there are torrents of waters, and fountains of deep places issuing through the plains and through the mountains; ⁸ a land of wheat and barley, with vines, figs, and pomegranates; a land of olive oil and honey; ⁹ a land on which you shall not eat your bread with poverty, and you shall not need anything upon it; a land whose stones are iron, and out of its mountains you shall dig brass. ¹⁰ And you shall eat and be filled, and shall bless the Lord your God on the good land, which He has given you.

⁴⁷ because you did not serve the Lord your God with gladness and a good heart, because of the abundance of all things.

²¹ And this song shall stand up to witness against them; for they shall not forget it out of their mouth, or out of the mouth of their seed; for I know their wickedness, what they are doing here this day, before I have brought them into the good land, which I swore to their fathers.

¹² the Lord alone led them, there was no strange god with them. ¹³ He brought them up on the strength of the land; He fed them with the fruits of the fields; they sucked honey out of the rock, and oil out of the solid rock. ¹⁴ Butter of cows, and milk of sheep, with the fat of lambs and rams, of calves and kids, with fat of kidneys of wheat; and he drank wine, the blood of the grape. ¹⁵ So Jacob ate and was filled, and the beloved one kicked; he grew fat, he became thick and broad: then he forsook the God that made him, and departed from God his Savior.

²⁵ And they took lofty cities, and inherited houses full of all good things, wells already dug, vineyards and olive yards, and every fruit tree in abundance. So they ate, and were filled, and grew fat, and delighted themselves in Your great goodness.

¹⁹ And it shall come to pass, when you shall say, Why has the Lord our God done all these things to us? That you shall say to them, Because you served strange gods in your land, so shall you serve strangers in a land that is not yours.

⁴ Certainly not! Indeed, let God be true but every man a liar, just as it is written: "That You may be justified in Your words, and You may overcome when You are judged." ⁵ But if our unrighteousness demonstrates the righteousness of God, what shall we say? Surely God, the One inflicting wrath is not unrighteous, is He? (I speak as a man.)
