¹⁸ And you shall make two cherubim graven in gold, and you shall put them on both sides of the mercy seat.

³¹ And you shall make a lampstand of pure gold; you shall make the lampstand of graven work: its stem and its branches, its bowls, its ornamental knobs, and its lilies shall be of one piece.

⁷ And whenever you shall gather the assembly, you shall sound, but not an alarm.

¹³ However there were not to be made for the house of the Lord silver plates, studs, bowls, or trumpets, any vessel of gold or vessel of silver, of the money that was brought into the house of the Lord,

¹² that all the singing Levites assigned to the sons of Asaph, to Heman, to Jeduthun, and to his sons, and to his brethren, of them that were clothed in linen garments, with cymbals and lutes and harps, were standing before the altar, and with them a hundred and twenty priests, blowing trumpets.

³ Blow the trumpet at the new moon, in the glorious day of your feast.

¹⁵ Blessed are the people that knows the joyful sound; they shall walk, O Lord, in the light of Your countenance.

¹³ Though you bring fine flour, it is futile; incense is an abomination to Me; I cannot bear your new moons, and your Sabbaths, and the great day;

¹ He shall come into their midst as the land, as an eagle against the house of the Lord, because they have transgressed My covenant, and have sinned against My law.

¹⁴ Sanctify a fast, proclaim a solemn service, gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land into the house of your God, and cry earnestly to the Lord,

⁵ one Lord, one faith, one baptism;

⁵ Declare in Judah, and let it be heard in Jerusalem. Say, Sound the trumpet in the land; cry aloud: say, Gather yourselves together, and let us enter into the fortified cities.

¹⁵ Sound the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, proclaim a solemn service: ¹⁶ gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the infants at the breast: let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet.

²¹ Also you shall select for yourself able men out of all the people, God fearing men, righteous men, hating pride, and you shall set over the people captains of thousands and captains of hundreds, and captains of fifties, and captains of tens.

⁴ And with you there shall be each one of the rulers according to the tribe of each: they shall be according to the houses of their families. ⁵ And these are the names of the men who shall be present with you; of the tribe of Reuben, Elizur the son of Shedeur; ⁶ of Simeon, Shelumiel the son of Zuri-shaddai; ⁷ of Judah, Nahshon the son of Amminadab; ⁸ of Issachar, Nathanel the son of Zuar; ⁹ of Zebulun, Eliab the son of Helon; ¹⁰ of the sons of Joseph, of Ephraim, Elishama the son of Ammihud; of Manasseh, Gamalliel the son of Pedahzur; ¹¹ of Benjamin, Abidan the son of Gideoni; ¹² of Dan, Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai; ¹³ of Asher, Pagiel the son of Ocran; ¹⁴ of Gad, Eliasaph the son of Deuel; ¹⁵ of Naphtali, Ahira the son of Enan. ¹⁶ These were famous men of the congregation, heads of the tribes according to their families: these are heads of thousands in Israel.

² And the princes of Israel brought gifts, twelve princes of their fathers' houses: these were ten heads of tribes, these are they that presided over the numbering.

¹⁵ So I took of you wise and understanding and prudent men, and I set them to rule over you as rulers of thousands, and rulers of hundreds, and rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens, and officers to your judges.

³ And they that encamp first toward the east shall be the order of the camp of Judah with their army, and the prince of the sons of Judah, Nahshon the son of Amminadab. ⁴ His forces that were numbered were seventy-four thousand six hundred. ⁵ And they that encamp next shall be of the tribe of Issachar, and the prince of the sons of Issachar shall be Nathanel the son of Zuar. ⁶ His forces that were numbered were fifty-four thousand four hundred. ⁷ And they that encamp next shall be of the tribe of Zebulun, and the prince of the sons of Zebulun shall be Eliab the son of Helon. ⁸ His forces that were numbered were fifty-seven thousand four hundred. ⁹ All that were numbered of the camp of Judah were one hundred and eighty-six thousand four hundred: they shall move first with their forces.

⁶ And you shall sound a second alarm, and the camps pitched southward shall move; and you shall sound a third alarm, and the camps pitched westward shall move forward; and you shall sound a fourth alarm, and they that encamp toward the north shall move forward: they shall sound an alarm at their departure. ⁷ And whenever you shall gather the assembly, you shall sound, but not an alarm.

¹⁴ And they first set in motion the order of the camp of the children of Judah with their host; and over their host was Nahshon, son of Amminadab.

¹ Cry aloud, and spare not; lift up your voice as with a trumpet, and declare to My people their sins, and to the house of Jacob their iniquities.

¹ Sound the trumpet in Zion, make a proclamation in My holy mountain, and let all the inhabitants of the land be confounded; for the day of the Lord is near;

¹⁰ This is the order of the camp of Reuben: their forces shall be toward the south, and the prince of the children of Reuben shall be Elizur the son of Shedeur. ¹¹ His forces that were numbered were forty-six thousand five hundred. ¹² And they that encamp next to him shall be of the tribe of Simeon, and the prince of the sons of Simeon shall be Shelumiel the son of Zuri-shaddai. ¹³ His forces that were numbered were fifty-nine thousand three hundred. ¹⁴ And they that encamp next to them shall be the tribe of Gad; and the prince of the sons of Gad, Eliasaph the son of Deuel. ¹⁵ His forces that were numbered were forty-five thousand six hundred and fifty. ¹⁶ All who were numbered of the camp of Reuben were a hundred and fifty-one thousand four hundred and fifty: they with their forces shall proceed in the second place.

¹⁸ And the order of the camp of Reuben set forward with their host; and over their host was Elisur the son of Sediur.

⁶ And Moses sent them away, a thousand of every tribe with their forces, and Phinehas the son of Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest. And the holy instruments, and the signal trumpets were in their hands.

⁴ And it shall be that when you shall sound with the trumpet, all the people shall shout together. ⁵ And when they have shouted, the walls of the city shall fall by themselves; and all the people shall enter, each one rushing directly into the city. ⁶ And Joshua the son of Nun went in to the priests, and spoke to them, saying, And let seven priests having seven sacred trumpets proceed thus before the Lord, and let them sound loudly; and let the ark of the covenant of the Lord follow. ⁷ Command the people to go round, and encompass the city; and let your men of war pass on, armed before the Lord. ⁸ (TEXT OMITTED) ⁹ And let the men of war proceed before, and the priests bringing up the rear behind the ark of the covenant of the Lord proceed the sounding the trumpets. ¹⁰ And Joshua commanded the people, saying, Do not cry out, nor let anyone hear your voice, until He Himself declare to you the time to cry out, and then you shall cry out. ¹¹ And the ark of the covenant of God, having gone round immediately, returned into the camp, and lodged there. ¹² And on the second day Joshua rose up in the morning, and the priests took up the ark of the covenant of the Lord. ¹³ And the seven priests bearing the seven trumpets went on before the Lord; and afterwards the men of war went on, and the remainder of the multitude went after the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and the priests sounded with the trumpets. ¹⁴ And all the rest of the multitude compassed the city six times from within a short distance, and went back again into the camp; this they did six days. ¹⁵ And on the seventh day they rose up early, and compassed the city on that day seven times. ¹⁶ And it came to pass at the seventh circuit the priests blew the trumpets, and Joshua said to the children of Israel, Shout, for the Lord has given you the city.

²⁴ Shebaniah, Joshaphat, Nethanel, Amasai, Zechariah, Benaiah, and Eliezer, the priests, were sounding with trumpets before the ark of God. And Obed-Edom and Jehiah were doorkeepers for the ark of God.

⁶ And Benaiah and Jahaziel the priests sounded continually with trumpets before the ark of the covenant of God in that day.

¹² And behold, the Lord and His priests are with us at our head, and the signal trumpets to sound an alarm over us. Children of Israel, fight not against the Lord God of our fathers; for you shall not prosper. ¹³ Now Jeroboam had caused an ambush to come round upon him from behind; and he himself was before Judah, and the ambush behind. ¹⁴ And Judah looked back, and behold, the battle was against them, ahead and behind. And they cried to the Lord, and the priests sounded with the trumpets. ¹⁵ And the men of Judah shouted. And it came to pass, when the men of Judah shouted, that the Lord struck Jeroboam and Israel before Abijah and Judah.

¹ And God remembered Noah, and all the wild beasts, and all the cattle, and all the birds, and all the reptiles that creep, as many as were with him in the ark, and God brought a wind upon the earth, and the water subsided.

⁵ And when they have shouted, the walls of the city shall fall by themselves; and all the people shall enter, each one rushing directly into the city.

¹⁸ And because the Lord raised them up judges, so the Lord was with the judge, and saved them out of the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge; for the Lord was moved at their groaning by reason of them that besieged them and afflicted them.

²⁷ And it came to pass when Ehud came into the land of Israel, that he blew the horn in Mount Ephraim, and the children of Israel came down with him from the mountain, and he was before them.

² And the Lord sold the children of Israel into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan, who ruled in Hazor; and the chief of his army was Sisera, and he dwelt in Harosheth of the Gentiles. ³ And the children of Israel cried to the Lord, because he had nine hundred chariots of iron; and he mightily oppressed Israel twenty years.

⁹ And I delivered you out of the hand of Egypt, and out of the hand of all that afflicted you, and I cast them out before you; and I gave you their land.

³⁴ And the Spirit of the Lord came upon Gideon, and he blew with the horn, and Abiezer came to help after him.

¹⁶ And he divided the three hundred men into three companies, and put horns in the hands of all, and empty pitchers, and torches in the pitchers: ¹⁷ and he said to them, You shall look at me, and so shall you do; and behold, I will go to the beginning of the camp, and it shall come to pass that as I do, so shall you do. ¹⁸ And I will sound with the horn, and all you with me shall sound with the horn round about the whole camp, and you shall say, For the Lord and Gideon. ¹⁹ And Gideon and the hundred men that were with him came to the extremity of the army in the beginning of the middle watch; and they completely roused the guards, and sounded with the horns, and they broke the pitchers that were in their hands, ²⁰ and the three companies sounded with the horns, and broke the pitchers, and held the torches in their left hands, and in their right hands their horns to sound with; and they cried out, A sword for the Lord and for Gideon. ²¹ And every man stood in his place round about the camp; and all the army ran, and sounded an alarm, and fled.

⁸ And they afflicted and bruised the children of Israel at that time eighteen years, all the children of Israel beyond the Jordan in the land of the Amorite in Gilead.

¹² and from the Sidonians, and Amalek, and Midian, who afflicted you? And you cried to Me, and I saved you out of their hand?

¹⁸ And he said to the children of Israel, Thus has the Lord God of Israel spoken, saying, I brought up the children of Israel out of Egypt, and I rescued you out of the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and out of all the kingdoms that afflicted you.

¹⁴ And Judah looked back, and behold, the battle was against them, ahead and behind. And they cried to the Lord, and the priests sounded with the trumpets.

⁴ Remember us, O Lord, with the favor You have toward Your people; visit us with Your salvation;

⁴² Ands their enemies oppressed them, and they were brought down under their hands.

²³ For the Lord remembered us in our low estate; for His mercy endures forever;

³ Now all the rivers of the land shall be inhabited as an inhabited country; their land shall be as when a signal is raised from a mountain; it shall be audible as the sound of a trumpet.

¹⁹ I am pained in my bowels, my bowels, and the sensitive powers of my heart. My soul is in great commotion, my heart is torn. I will not be silent, for my soul has heard the sound of a trumpet, the cry of war, and of distress: it calls on destruction.

²¹ How long shall I see fugitives, and hear the sound of the trumpet?

¹ Strengthen yourselves, you children of Benjamin, to flee out of the midst of Jerusalem, and sound an alarm with the trumpet in Tekoa, and set up a signal over Beth Haccerem; for evil threatens from the north, and a great destruction is coming.

¹⁷ I have set watchmen over you, saying, Hear the sound of the trumpet. But they said, We will not hear.

¹⁴ Sound the trumpet, and pass sentence on all together.

³ and he shall see the sword coming upon the land, and blow the trumpet, and sound an alarm to the people; ⁴ and he that hears the sound of the trumpet shall hear, and yet not take heed, and the sword shall come upon him, and overtake him, his blood shall be upon his own head. ⁵ Because he heard the sound of the trumpet, and took no heed, his blood shall be upon him. But the other, because he took heed, has delivered his soul. ⁶ But if the watchman sees the sword coming, and does not sound the trumpet, and the people do not watch; and the sword comes, and takes a soul from among them, that soul is taken because of its iniquity; but the blood thereof will I require at the watchman' hand.

⁸ Blow the trumpet on the hills, sound aloud on the heights: proclaim in the house of On, Benjamin is amazed.

⁶ Shall the trumpet sound in the city, and the people not be alarmed? Shall there be evil in a city which the Lord has not wrought?

¹⁶ a day of the trumpet and cry against the strong cities, and against the high towers.

⁷⁰ as He spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets, who have been since the world began, ⁷¹ that we should be saved from our enemies and from the hand of all who hate us, ⁷² to perform the mercy promised to our fathers and to remember His holy covenant, ⁷³ the oath which He swore to our father Abraham: ⁷⁴ to grant us that we, being delivered from the hand of our enemies, might serve Him without fear,

⁸ For if the trumpet gives an indistinct sound, who will prepare for battle?

²⁹ And Aaron shall take the names of the children of Israel on the breastplate of judgment on his breast, a memorial before God for him as he goes into the sanctuary. And you shall put the fringes on the breastplate of judgment; you shall put the wreaths on both sides of the breastplate, and you shall put the two circlets on both the shoulders of the ephod in front.

¹⁶ And you shall take the money of the offering from the children of Israel, and shall give it for the service of the tabernacle of testimony; and it shall be to the children of Israel a memorial before the Lord, to make atonement for your souls.

²⁴ Speak to the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall have a rest, a memorial of trumpets: it shall be to you a holy convocation.

⁹ In the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, you shall make a proclamation with the sound of a trumpet in all your land; on the Day of Atonement you shall make a proclamation with a trumpet in all your land. ¹⁰ And you shall sanctify the year, the fiftieth year, and you shall proclaim a release upon the land to all that inhabit it. It shall be given a year of release, a jubilee for you; and each one shall depart to his possession, and you shall go each to his family.

⁹ And if you shall go forth to war in your land against your enemies that are opposed to you, then shall you sound with the trumpets; and you shall be had in remembrance before the Lord, and you shall be saved from your enemies.

¹ And in the seventh month, on the first day of the month, there shall be to you a holy convocation: you shall do no customary work: it shall be to you a day of blowing the trumpets.

⁷ then you may explain to your son, saying, The River Jordan was dried up from before the ark of the covenant of the Lord of the whole earth, when it crossed over; and these stones shall be for a memorial for you for the children of Israel forever.

²⁸ And all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of the Lord with shouting, and with the sound of a horn, and with trumpets, and with cymbals, playing loudly on lutes and harps.

⁴² And with them there were trumpets and cymbals to sound aloud, and musical instruments for the songs of God; and the sons of Jeduthun were at the gate.

¹² that all the singing Levites assigned to the sons of Asaph, to Heman, to Jeduthun, and to his sons, and to his brethren, of them that were clothed in linen garments, with cymbals and lutes and harps, were standing before the altar, and with them a hundred and twenty priests, blowing trumpets. ¹³ And there was one voice in the trumpeting and in the psalm singing, and in the loud utterance with one voice to give thanks and praise the Lord. And when they raised their voice together with trumpets and cymbals, and instruments of music, and said, Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, for His mercy endures forever. Then the house was filled with the cloud of the glory of the Lord.

⁶ And the priests were standing at their watches, and the Levites with instruments of music of the Lord, belonging to King David, to give thanks before the Lord, for His mercy endures forever, with the hymns of David, by their ministry: and the priests were blowing the trumpets before them, and all Israel was standing.

²⁶ And the Levites stood with the instruments of David, and the priests with the trumpets.

²⁸ And all the congregation worshipped, and the psalm-singers were singing, and the trumpets sounding, until the whole burnt sacrifice had been completely offered.

¹⁰ And they laid a foundation for building the house of the Lord; and the priests in their robes stood with trumpets and the Levites the sons of Asaph with cymbals, to praise the Lord, according to the order of David king of Israel.

³⁵ And some of the sons of the priest with trumpets, Zechariah son of Jonathan, son of Shemaiah, son of Matthaniah, son of Micaiah, son of Zacchur, son of Asaph:

⁵ Sing to the Lord with a harp, and with the voice of a psalm. ⁶ With trumpets, and with the sound of a horn, make a joyful noise to the Lord before the king.

³ Praise Him with the sound of a trumpet; praise Him with psaltery and harp.

¹³ And it shall come to pass in that day that they shall blow the great trumpet, and the lost ones in the land of the Assyrians shall come, and the lost ones in Egypt, and shall worship the Lord on the holy mountain in Jerusalem.

¹ You that thirst, go to the water, and all that have no money, go and buy; and eat and drink wine and milk without money or price. ² Why do you value at the price of money, and give your labor for that which will not satisfy? Hearken to Me, and you shall eat that which is good, and your soul shall feast itself on good things. ³ Give heed with your ears, and follow My ways; hearken to Me, and your soul shall live in prosperity; and I will make with you an everlasting covenant, the sure mercies of David. ⁴ Behold I have made him a testimony among the Gentiles, a prince and commander to the Gentiles.

²⁸ Come to Me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest.

⁴ And looking intently at him and becoming fearful he said, "What is it, lord?" And he said to him, "Your prayers and your alms have come up for a memorial before God.

²⁴ and having given thanks, He broke it and said, "Take, eat; this is My body which has been broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me." ²⁵ Likewise He also took the cup after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me." ²⁶ For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until He comes.

⁵² in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

¹⁶ Because the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a word of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ shall rise first.

¹⁸ So then comfort one another with these words.

¹⁷ And the Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" And let him who hears say, "Come!" And let him who thirsts come. The one who desires, let him take the water of life freely.

² On the first day of the first month, at the new moon, you shall set up the tabernacle of witness,

¹⁷ And it came to pass in the first month, in the second year after their going forth out of Egypt, at the new moon, that the tabernacle was set up.

¹ And the Lord spoke to Moses in the Wilderness of Sinai, in the tabernacle of witness, on the first day of the second month, in the second year of their departure from the land of Egypt, saying,

¹ And the Lord spoke to Moses in the Wilderness of Sinai in the second year after they had gone forth from the land of Egypt, in the first month, saying,

⁵ on the fourteenth day of the first month in the Wilderness of Sinai, as the Lord appointed Moses, so the children of Israel did.

¹¹ in the second month, on the fourteenth day; in the evening they shall offer it, with unleavened bread and bitter herbs shall they eat it.

¹⁷ And when the cloud went up from the tabernacle, then after that the children of Israel departed; and in whatever place the cloud rested, there the children of Israel encamped. ¹⁸ The children of Israel shall encamp by the command of the Lord, and by the command of the Lord they shall remove; all the days in which the cloud overshadows the tabernacle, the children of Israel shall encamp. ¹⁹ And whenever the cloud shall be drawn over the tabernacle for many days, then the children of Israel shall keep the command of God, and they shall not remove. ²⁰ And it shall be, whenever the cloud overshadows the tabernacle a number of days, they shall encamp by the word of the Lord, and shall remove by the command of the Lord. ²¹ And it shall come to pass, whenever the cloud shall remain from the evening till the morning, and in the morning the cloud shall go up, then shall they remove by day or by night. ²² When the cloud continues a full month overshadowing the tabernacle, the children of Israel shall encamp, and shall not depart. ²³ For they shall depart by the command of the Lord: they kept the charge of the Lord by the command of the Lord by the hand of Moses.

²¹ And he dwelt in the wilderness, and his mother took him a wife out of Paran of Egypt.

²⁰ And the children of Israel departed from Succoth, and encamped in Etham by the wilderness.

¹ And in the third month of the departure of the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt, on the same day, they came into the Wilderness of Sinai. ² And they departed from Rephidim, and came into the Wilderness of Sinai, and there Israel encamped before the mountain.

³⁶ And when the cloud went up from the tabernacle, the children of Israel prepared to depart with their baggage. ³⁷ And if the cloud went not up, they did not prepare to depart, till the day when the cloud went up.

¹⁶ And afterwards the people set forth from Asheroth, and encamped in the Wilderness of Paran.

³ And Moses sent them out of the Wilderness of Paran by the word of the Lord; all these were the princes of the sons of Israel.

²⁶ And they proceeded and came to Moses and Aaron and all the congregation of the children of Israel, to the Wilderness of Paran Kadesh; and they brought word to them and to all the congregation, and they showed the fruit of the land.

¹⁵ And they departed from Rephidim, and encamped in the Wilderness of Sinai. ¹⁶ And they departed from the Wilderness of Sinai, and encamped at the Graves of Lust.

¹ These are the words which Moses spoke to all Israel on this side of the Jordan in the desert towards the west near the Red Sea, between Paran, Tophel, Laban, and Aulon, and the gold works.

¹⁹ And we departed from Horeb, and went through all that great and terrible wilderness, which you saw, by the way of the mountain of the Amorite, as the Lord our God charged us, and we came as far as Kadesh Barnea.

² And he said, The Lord has come from Sinai, and has appeared from Seir to us, and has shone forth from Mount Paran, with the ten thousands of Kadesh; on His right hand were His angels with Him.

¹ And Samuel died, and all Israel assembled, and lamented him, and they buried him in his house in Ramah. And David arose, and went down to the Wilderness of Maon.

³ God shall come from Teman, and the Holy One from the dark shady Mount Paran. Pause.

²³ For they shall depart by the command of the Lord: they kept the charge of the Lord by the command of the Lord by the hand of Moses.

⁶ The Lord your God spoke to us in Horeb, saying, Let it suffice you to have dwelt so long in this mountain.

⁸ Judah, your brothers have praised you, and your hands shall be on the back of your enemies; your father's sons shall bow down before you.

⁷ of Judah, Nahshon the son of Amminadab;

¹² And he that offered his gift on the first day was Nahshon the son of Amminadab, prince of the tribe of Judah.

¹⁹ And the sons of Judah were Er and Onan; and Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan. ²⁰ And these were the sons of Judah, according to their families: of Shelah, the family of the Shelanites; of Perez, the family of the Parzites; of Zerah, the family of the Zarhites. ²¹ And the sons of Perez were: to Hezron, the family of the Hezronites; to Hamul, the family of the Hamulites. ²² These are the families of Judah according to their numbering: seventy-six thousand five hundred. ²³ And the sons of Issachar according to their families were: of Tola, the family of the Tolaites; of Puah, the family of the Punites. ²⁴ Of Jashub, the family of the Jashubites; of Shimron, the family of the Shimronites. ²⁵ These are the families of Issachar according to their numbering: sixty-four thousand four hundred. ²⁶ The sons of Zebulun according to their families were: of Sered, the family of the Sardites; of Elon, the family of the Elonites; of Jahleel, the family of the Jahleelites. ²⁷ These are the families of Zebulun according to their numbering: sixty thousand five hundred.

⁸ of Issachar, Nathanel the son of Zuar;

¹⁸ On the second day Nathanel son of Zuar, the prince of the tribe of Issachar, brought his offering.

⁹ of Zebulun, Eliab the son of Helon;

²⁴ On the third day the prince of the sons of Zebulun, Eliab the son of Helon came.

⁵¹ And in removing the tabernacle, the Levites shall take it down, and in pitching the tabernacle they shall set it up: and let the stranger that advances to touch it die.

²⁵ And the charge of the sons of Gershon in the tabernacle of witness was the tent and the veil, and the covering of the door of the tabernacle of witness, ²⁶ and the curtains of the court, and the veil of the door of the court, which is by the tabernacle, and the remainder of all its works.

³⁶ The oversight of the charge of the sons of Merari included the boards of the tabernacle, and its bars, its pillars, its sockets and all their furniture, and their works, ³⁷ and the pillars of the court round about, and their bases, their pins, and their cords.

²¹ And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, ²² Take the sum of the children of Gershon, and these according to the houses of their lineage, according to there families. ²³ Take the number of them from twenty-five years old and upwards until the age of fifty, everyone that goes in to minister, to do his business in the tabernacle of witness. ²⁴ This is the public service of the family of Gershon, to minister and to bear. ²⁵ And they shall bear the skins of the tabernacle, and the tabernacle of witness, and its veil, and the blue cover that was on it above, and the cover of the door of the tabernacle of witness. ²⁶ And all the curtains of the court which were upon the tabernacle of witness, and the appendages, and all the vessels of service that they minister with they shall attend to. ²⁷ According to the direction of Aaron and his sons shall be the ministry of the sons of Gershon, in all their ministries, and in all their works; and you shall take account of them by name in all things borne by them. ²⁸ This is the service of the sons of Gershon in the tabernacle of witness, and their charge by the hand of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest. ²⁹ Take the number of the sons of Merari according to their families, according to the houses of their lineage. ³⁰ Take the number of them from twenty-five years old and upwards until fifty years old, everyone that goes in to perform the services of the tabernacle of witness. ³¹ And these are the charges of the things borne by them according to all their works in the tabernacle of witness: they shall bear the boards of the tabernacle, and the bars, and its pillars, and its sockets, and the veil, and there shall be their sockets, and their pillars, and the curtain of the door of the tabernacle. ³² And they shall bear the pillars of the court round about, and there shall be their sockets, and they shall bear the pillars of the veil of the door of the court, and their sockets and their pins, and their cords, and all their furniture, and all their instruments of service. And you shall take their number by name, and all the articles of the charge of the things borne by them. ³³ This is the ministration of the family of the sons of Merari in all their works in the tabernacle of witness, by the hand of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.

⁶ And Moses took the wagons and the oxen, and gave them to the Levites. ⁷ And he gave two wagons and four oxen to the sons of Gershon, according to their ministrations. ⁸ And four wagons and eight oxen he gave to the sons of Merari according to their ministrations, by Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.

¹¹ But Christ came as a High Priest of the good things to come, through the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation.

²⁸ Therefore, since we are receiving an unshakable kingdom, let us have grace, through which we serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear.

¹⁴ knowing that the putting off of my tent is soon, just as our Lord Jesus Christ has made clear to me.

⁵ And these are the names of the men who shall be present with you; of the tribe of Reuben, Elizur the son of Shedeur;

³⁵ And for a sacrifice of peace offering, two heifers, five rams, five male goats, and five ewe lambs of a year old: this was the gift of Elisur the son of Sediur.

⁵ Reuben was the firstborn of Israel: and the sons of Reuben, Enoch and the family of Hanoch; to Pallu belongs the family of the Palluites. ⁶ To Hezron, the family of the Hezronites: to Carmi, the family of Carmi. ⁷ These are the families of Reuben; and their numbering was forty-three thousand seven hundred and thirty. ⁸ And the son of Pallu was Eliab. ⁹ And the sons of Eliab were Nemuel, Dathan, and Abiram: these are renowned men of the congregation; these are they that rose up against Moses and Aaron in the gathering of Korah, in the rebellion against the Lord. ¹⁰ And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up them and Korah, when their assembly perished, when the fire devoured the two hundred and fifty, and they were made a sign. ¹¹ But the sons of Korah died not. ¹² And the sons of Simeon according to their families were: of Nemuel, the family of the Nemuelites; to Jamin the family of the Jaminites; to Jachin the family of the Jachinites. ¹³ To Zerah the family of the Zarhites; to Saul the family of the Saulites. ¹⁴ These are the families of Simeon according to their numbering: twenty-two thousand two hundred. ¹⁵ The sons of Gad according to their families were: to Zephon, the family of the Zephonites; to Haggi, the family of the Haggites; to Shuni, the family of the Shunites; ¹⁶ to Ozni, the family of the Oznites; to Eri, the family of the Erites; ¹⁷ to Arodi, the family of the Arodites; to Ariel, the family of the Arielites. ¹⁸ These are the families of the children of Gad according to their numbering: forty-four thousand five hundred.

⁶ of Simeon, Shelumiel the son of Zuri-shaddai;

³⁶ On the fifth day came the prince of the children of Simeon, Shelumiel the son of Zuri-shaddai.

¹⁴ of Gad, Eliasaph the son of Deuel;

¹⁴ And they that encamp next to them shall be the tribe of Gad; and the prince of the sons of Gad, Eliasaph the son of Deuel.

⁴² On the sixth day the prince of the sons of Gad, Eliasaph the son of Deuel came.

¹⁷ And then the tabernacle of witness shall be set forward, and the camp of the Levites shall be between the camps; as they shall encamp, so also shall they commence their march, each one next in order to his fellow according to their companies.

²⁷ To Kohath belonged one division, that of Amram, and another division, that of Izehar, and another division, that of Hebron, and another division, that of Uzziel: these are the divisions of Kohath, according to number. ²⁸ Every male from a month old and upward, eight thousand and six hundred, keeping the charges of the holy things. ²⁹ The families of the sons of Kohath shall encamp beside the tabernacle toward the south. ³⁰ And the chief of the house of the families of the divisions of Kohath was Elizaphan the son of Uzziel. ³¹ And their charge was the ark, and the table, and the lampstand, and the altars, and all the vessels of the sanctuary wherewith they do holy service, and the veil, and all their works. ³² And the chief over the chief of the Levites was Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, appointed to keep the charges of the holy things.

⁴ And these are the works of the sons of Kohath in the tabernacle of witness; it is most holy. ⁵ And Aaron and his sons shall go in, when the camp is about to move, and shall take down the shadowing veil, and they shall cover with it the ark of the Testimony. ⁶ And they shall put a cover on it of blue skin, a garment of all blue, and they shall put the poles through the rings. ⁷ And they shall put on the table set forth for showbread a cloth all of purple, and the dishes, and the censers, and the cups, and the vessels with which one offers drink offerings; and the continual loaves shall be upon it. ⁸ And they shall put upon it a scarlet cloth, and they shall cover it with a blue covering of skin, and they shall put the poles into it. ⁹ And they shall take a blue covering, and cover the lampstand that gives light, and its lamps, and its snuffers, and its funnels, and all the vessels of oil with which they minister. ¹⁰ And they shall put it, and all its vessels, into a blue skin cover; and they shall put it on bearers. ¹¹ And they shall put a blue cloth for a cover on the golden altar, and shall cover it with a blue skin cover, and put in its poles. ¹² And they shall take all the instruments of service, with which they minister in the sanctuary: and shall place them in a cloth of blue, and shall cover them with blue skin covering, and put them upon poles. ¹³ And he shall put the covering on the altar, and they shall cover it with a cloth all of purple. ¹⁴ And they shall put upon it all the vessels with which they minister upon it, and the firepans, and the flesh-hooks, and the cups, and the cover, and all the vessels of the altar; and they shall put on it a blue cover of skins, and shall put in its poles; and they shall take a purple cloth, and cover the laver and its foot, and they shall put it into a blue cover of skin, and put it on bars. ¹⁵ And Aaron and his sons shall finish covering the holy things, and all the holy vessels, when the camp begins to move; and afterwards the sons of Kohath shall go in to take up the furniture; but shall not touch the holy things, lest they die: these shall the sons of Kohath bear in the tabernacle of witness. ¹⁶ Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest is overseer — the oil of the light, and the incense of composition, and the daily grain offering and the anointing oil, are his charge; even the oversight of the whole tabernacle, and all things that are in it in the holy place, in all the works.

²⁰ And so they shall by no means go in to look suddenly upon the holy things, and die.

⁹ But to the sons of Kohath he gave them not, because they have the ministrations of the sacred things: they shall bear them on their shoulders.

¹⁷ And they shall take down the tabernacle, and the sons of Gershon shall set forward, and the sons of Merari, who bear the tabernacle.

² Then said David, It is not lawful for any to bear the ark of God, but the Levites; for the Lord has chosen them to bear the ark of the Lord, and to minister to Him forever.

¹² and said to them, You are the heads of the families of the Levites: sanctify yourselves, you and your brethren, and you shall carry up the ark of the God of Israel, to the place which I have prepared for it. ¹³ For because you were not ready at the first, our God made a breach upon us, because we sought Him not according to the ordinance. ¹⁴ So the priests and the Levites sanctified themselves, to bring up the ark of the God of Israel. ¹⁵ And the sons of the Levites took the ark of God, (as Moses commanded by the word of God according to the Scripture) upon their shoulders with poles.

¹⁹ And he would not, but said, I know it, son, I know it; he also shall be a people, and he shall be exalted, but his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his seed shall become a multitude of nations.

¹⁰ of the sons of Joseph, of Ephraim, Elishama the son of Ammihud; of Manasseh, Gamalliel the son of Pedahzur;

¹⁸ The station of the camp of Ephraim shall be westward with their forces, and the head of the children of Ephraim shall be Elishama the son of Ammihud. ¹⁹ His forces that were numbered are forty thousand five hundred. ²⁰ And they that encamp next shall be of the tribe of Manasseh, and the prince of the sons of Manasseh, Gamalliel the son of Pedahzur. ²¹ His forces that were numbered were thirty-two thousand two hundred. ²² And they that encamp next shall be of the tribe of Benjamin, and the prince of the sons of Benjamin, Abidan the son of Gideoni. ²³ His forces that were numbered were thirty-five thousand four hundred. ²⁴ All that were numbered of the camp of Ephraim were one hundred and eight thousand one hundred: they with their forces shall set out third.

⁴⁸ On the seventh day the prince of the sons of Ephraim, Elishama the son of Ammihud came.

²³ And the sons of Issachar according to their families were: of Tola, the family of the Tolaites; of Puah, the family of the Punites. ²⁴ Of Jashub, the family of the Jashubites; of Shimron, the family of the Shimronites. ²⁵ These are the families of Issachar according to their numbering: sixty-four thousand four hundred. ²⁶ The sons of Zebulun according to their families were: of Sered, the family of the Sardites; of Elon, the family of the Elonites; of Jahleel, the family of the Jahleelites. ²⁷ These are the families of Zebulun according to their numbering: sixty thousand five hundred. ²⁸ The sons of Joseph according to their families were: Mannasseh and Ephraim. ²⁹ The sons of Mannasseh: of Machir the family of the Machirites; and Machir begot Gilead: of Gilead, the family of the Gileadites. ³⁰ And these are the sons of Galaad: of Abiezer, the family of the Abiezerites; of Helek, the family of the Helekites; ³¹ of Asriel, the family of the Asrielites; of Shechem, the family of the Shechemites; ³² of Shemida, the family of the Shemidaites; and of Hepher, the family of the Hepherites. ³³ And to Zelophedad the son of Hopher there were no sons, but daughters: and these were the names of the daughters of Zelophedad: Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milcha, and Tirzah. ³⁴ These are the families of Mannasseh according to their numbering: fifty-two thousand seven hundred. ³⁵ And these are the children of Ephraim: of Shuthelah, the family of the Shuthalhites; of Tanach, the family of the Tanachites. ³⁶ These are the sons of Shuthelah: of Eran, the family of the Eranites. ³⁷ These are the families of Ephraim according to their numbering: thirty-two thousand five hundred. These are the families of the children of Joseph according to their families. ³⁸ The sons of Benjamin according to their families were: of Bela, the family of the Belaites; of Ashbel, the family of the Ashbelites; of Ahiram, the family of the Ahiramites; ³⁹ of Sophan, the family of the Sophanites. ⁴⁰ And the sons of Bela were Ard and Naaman; to Adar, the family of the Adarites; and to Naaman, the family of the Naamanites. ⁴¹ These are the sons of Benjamin by their families according to their numbering: thirty-five thousand five hundred.

⁵⁴ On the eighth day the prince of the sons of Manasseh, Gamalliel the son of Pedahzur came.

¹¹ of Benjamin, Abidan the son of Gideoni;

⁶⁰ On the ninth day the prince of the sons of Benjamin, Abidan the son of Gideoni came.

¹⁶ Dan shall judge his people, as one of the tribes of Israel. ¹⁷ And let Dan be a serpent in the way, besetting the path, biting the heel of the horse (and the rider shall fall backward),

¹² of Dan, Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai;

²⁵ The order of the camp of Dan shall be northward with their forces; and the prince of the sons of Dan, Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai. ²⁶ His forces that were numbered were sixty-two thousand seven hundred. ²⁷ And they that encamp next to him shall be the tribe of Asher; and the prince of the sons of Asher, Pagiel the son of Ocran. ²⁸ His forces that were numbered were forty-one thousand five hundred. ²⁹ And they that encamp next shall be of the tribe of Naphtali; and the prince of the children of Naphtali, Ahira son of Enan. ³⁰ His forces that were numbered were fifty-three thousand four hundred. ³¹ All that were numbered of the camp of Dan, were a hundred and fifty-seven thousand six hundred: they shall set out last according to their order.

⁶⁶ On the tenth day the prince of the sons of Dan, Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai came.

⁴² And the sons of Dan according to their families: to Shuham, the family of the Shuhamites; these are the families of Dan according to their families. ⁴³ All the families of Shuhamites according to their numbering were sixty-four thousand four hundred. ⁴⁴ The sons of Asher according to their families were: to Jimna, the family of the Jimnites; to Jesui, the family of the Jesuites; to Beriah, the family of the Beriites. ⁴⁵ To Hober, the family of the Hoberites; to Malchiel, the family of the Malchielites. ⁴⁶ And the name of the daughter of Asher was Serah. ⁴⁷ These are the families of Asher according to their numbering; forty-three thousand four hundred. ⁴⁸ The sons of Naphtali according to their families were: to Jahziel, the family of the Jahzielites; to Guni, the family of the Gunites. ⁴⁹ To Jezer, the family of the Jezerites; to Shillem, the family of the Shillemites. ⁵⁰ These are the families of Naphtali, according to their numbering: forty thousand three hundred. ⁵¹ This is the numbering of the children of Israel, six hundred and one thousand seven hundred and thirty.

¹⁷ Remember what things Amalek did to you by the way, when you went forth out of the land of Egypt, ¹⁸ how he withstood you in the way, and harassed your rear, even those that were weary behind you, and you hungered and were weary; and he did not fear God.

⁹ And let the men of war proceed before, and the priests bringing up the rear behind the ark of the covenant of the Lord proceed the sounding the trumpets.

¹² For you shall not go forth with haste, neither go by flight; for the Lord shall go first in advance of you; and the God of Israel shall be the One that brings up your rear.

⁸ Then shall your light break forth as the morning, and your health shall speedily spring forth; and your righteousness shall go before you, and the glory of God shall surround you.

¹³ of Asher, Pagiel the son of Ocran;

⁷² On the eleventh day the prince of the sons of Asher, Phageel the son of Ocran came.

¹⁵ of Naphtali, Ahira the son of Enan.

⁷⁸ On the twelfth day the prince of the sons of Naphtali, Ahira the son of Enan came.

³⁴ And the children of Israel did all things that the Lord commanded Moses; thus they encamped in their order, and thus they began their march in succession each according to their divisions, according to the houses of their families.

³⁵ And it came to pass when the ark set forward, that Moses said, Arise, O Lord, and let Your enemies be scattered: let all that hate You flee. ³⁶ And in the resting he said, Turn again, O Lord, the thousands and tens of thousands in Israel.

⁴ he who hears the oracle of the Mighty One, who saw a vision of God in sleep; his eyes were opened: ⁵ How wonderful are your tents, O Jacob, and your dwellings, O Israel!

^{10 (6:9)} Who is this that looks forth as the morning, fair as the moon, choice as the sun, terrible as armies set in array?

³³ For God is not the author of confusion but of peace. As in all the churches of the saints,

⁴⁰ Let all things be done properly and according to order.

⁵ For though indeed I am absent in the flesh, yet I am with you in spirit, rejoicing to see your orderliness and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ.

⁷ Then the Lord appeared to Abram, and said to him, I will give this land to your seed. And Abram built an altar there to the Lord who appeared to him.

¹⁵ for all the land which you see, I will give to you and to your seed forever.

¹⁸ In that day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying, To your seed I will give this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river Euphrates.

¹² But You said, I will do you good, and will make your seed as the sand of the sea, which shall not be numbered for multitude.

¹⁸ And they came to Reuel their father; and he said to them, Why have you come so quickly today?

¹ And Moses was feeding the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian. And he brought the sheep close to the wilderness, and came to the mount of Horeb.

⁸ And I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them out of that land, and to bring them into a good and wide land, into a land flowing with milk and honey, into the place of the Canaanites and the Hittites and the Amorites and the Perizzites and Girgashites and Hivites and Jebusites.

⁷ And I will take you to Me as a people unto Myself, and I will be your God; and you shall know that I am the Lord your God, who brought you out from the tyranny of the Egyptians. ⁸ And I will bring you into the land concerning which I stretched out My hand to give it to Abraham and Isaac and Jacob, and I will give it you for an inheritance: I am the Lord.

¹ And Jethro the priest of Midian, the father-in-law of Moses, heard of all that the Lord did to His people Israel; for the Lord brought Israel out of Egypt.

²⁷ And Moses dismissed his father-in-law, and he returned to his own land.

¹⁹ God is not as a man that He should waver, nor as a son of man that He should be threatened; shall He say and not perform? Shall He speak and not keep His word?

¹⁶ And the children of Jethro the Kenite, the father-in-law of Moses, went up from the City of Palm Trees with the children of Judah, to the wilderness that is in the south of Judah, which is at the descent of Arad, and they dwelt with the people.

¹¹ And Heber the Kenite had removed from Caina, from the sons of Jethro, the father-in-law of Moses, and pitched his tent by the oak of the covetous ones, which is near Kedesh.

⁶ And Saul said to the Kenite, Go, and depart out of the midst of the Amalekites, lest I put you with them; for you dealt mercifully with the children of Israel when they went up out of Egypt. So the Kenite departed from the midst of Amalek.

⁸ Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who hopes in Him.

³ And many nations shall go and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and He will tell us His way, and we will walk in it; for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord out of Jerusalem.

⁵ They shall ask the way till they come to Zion, for that way shall they set their face; and they shall come and flee for refuge to the Lord their God; for the everlasting covenant shall not be forgotten.

²¹ and the inhabitants of five cities shall come together to one city, saying, Let us go to make supplication to the Lord, and to seek the face of the Lord Almighty; I will go also. ²² And many peoples and many nations shall come to seek earnestly the face of the Lord Almighty in Jerusalem, and to obtain the favor of the Lord. ²³ Thus says the Lord Almighty; In those days My word shall be fulfilled if ten men of all the languages of the nations should take hold — even take hold of the hem of a Jew, saying, We will go with you; for we have heard that God is with you.

⁵ And He gave him no inheritance in it, not even a place to put his foot on, and He promised to give it to him for a possession, and to his descendants after him, though he had no child.

² in hope of eternal life which God, who cannot lie, promised before time itself,

¹⁸ in order that through two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we might have strong encouragement, who have fled to take hold of the hope being set before us;

¹ And the Lord said to Abram, Go forth out of your land, and out from your family, and out of the house of your father, into the land which I will show you.

³⁰ Now then go on your way, for you have earnestly desired to depart to the house of your father; but why have you stolen my gods?

¹⁵ And Naomi said to Ruth, Behold, your sister-in-law has returned to her people and to her gods; turn now also after your sister-in-law. ¹⁶ And Ruth said, Entreat me not to leave you, or to return from following you; for wherever you go, I will go, and wherever you lodge, I will lodge; your people shall be my people, and your God my God. ¹⁷ And wherever you die, I will die, and there will I be buried: the Lord do so to me, and more also, if I leave you, for death only shall divide between me and you.

¹⁰ Hear, O daughter, and see, and incline your ear; forget also your people, and your father's house.

²⁹ "But he answered and said, 'I will not,' but later he regretted it and went.

²⁶ If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple.

¹⁶ Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer.

⁸ By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go forth to the place which he was about to receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going.

¹³ These all died according to faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off and welcoming them, and confessing that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.

¹⁵ I was the eye of the blind, and the foot of the lame.

⁸ I will instruct you and guide you in the way you should go; I will fix My eyes upon you.

¹⁴ For in fact the body is not one part but many. ¹⁵ If the foot should say, "Because I am not a hand, I am not of the body," is it therefore not of the body? ¹⁶ And if the ear should say, "Because I am not an eye, I am not of the body," is it therefore not of the body? ¹⁷ If the whole body were an eye, where would be the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where would be the smelling? ¹⁸ But now God has set the parts, each one of them, in the body just as He desired. ¹⁹ And if all parts were one part, where would be the body? ²⁰ But now indeed there are many parts, but one body. ²¹ And the eye cannot say to the hand, "I have no need of you"; nor again the head to the feet, "I have no need of you."

² Bear one another's burdens, and thus fulfill the law of Christ.

¹⁸ executing judgment for the stranger and orphan and widow, and He loves the stranger, to give him food and clothing.

²⁷ All the ends of the earth shall remember and turn to the Lord, and all the families of the nations shall worship before Him. ²⁸ For the kingdom is the Lord's; and He is the governor of the nations. ²⁹ All the fat ones of the earth have eaten and worshipped; all that go down to the earth shall fall down before Him; my soul also lives to him. ³⁰ And my seed shall serve him; the generation that is coming shall be reported to the Lord. ³¹ And they shall report His righteousness to the people that shall be born, whom the Lord has made.

⁵ Let the people, O God, give thanks to You; let all the people give thanks to You. ⁶ The earth has yielded her fruit; let God, our God, bless us. ⁷ Let God bless us, and let all the ends of the earth fear Him.

³ that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, in order that you also may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.

³ And Moses went up to the mount of God, and God called him out of the mountain, saying, These things shall you say to the house of Jacob, and you shall report them to the children of Israel.

¹⁷ And the appearance of the glory of the Lord was as burning fire on the top of the mountain, before the children of Israel. ¹⁸ And Moses went into the midst of the cloud, and went up to the mountain, and was there in the mountain forty days and forty nights.

¹⁴ And He said, I Myself will go before you, and give you rest. ¹⁵ Then he said to Him, If You go not up with us Yourself, do not bring me up from here.

¹² And the children of Israel set forward with their baggage in the Wilderness of Sinai; and the cloud rested in the Wilderness of Paran.

³³ who goes before you in the way to choose you a place, guiding you in the fire by night, showing you the way by which you should go, and a cloud by day.

⁹ when I went up into the mountain to receive the tablets of stone, the tablets of the covenant, which the Lord made with you, and I was in the mountain forty days and forty nights, I ate no bread and drank no water.

²⁶ Take the book of this law, and you shall put it in the side of the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God; and it shall be there among you for a testimony.

² And it came to pass after three days, that the scribes went through the camp; ³ and they commanded the people, saying, When you shall see the ark of the covenant of the Lord our God, and our priests and the Levites bearing it, you shall depart from your places, and you shall go after it. ⁴ But let there be a distance between you and it; you shall stand as much as two thousand cubits from it. ¹¹ Behold, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth passes over the Jordan. ¹² Choose for yourselves twelve men of the sons of Israel, one of each tribe. ¹³ And it shall come to pass, when the feet of the priests that bear the ark of the covenant of the Lord of the whole earth shall rest in the water of the Jordan, the water of the Jordan below shall fail, and the water coming down from above shall stop. ¹⁴ And the people removed from their tents to cross over the Jordan, and the priests bore the ark of the covenant of the Lord before the people. ¹⁵ And when the priests that bore the ark of the covenant of the Lord entered the Jordan, and the feet of the priests that bore the ark of the covenant of the Lord were dipped in part of the water of the Jordan (now the Jordan overflowed all its banks about the time of wheat harvest), ¹⁶ then the waters that came down from above stopped; there stood one solid heap very far off, as far as the region of Zaretan, and the lower part came down to the sea of the Arabah, the Salt Sea, till it completely failed; and the people stood opposite Jericho. ¹⁷ And the priests that bore the ark of the covenant of the Lord stood on dry land in the midst of the Jordan; and all the children of Israel went through on dry land, until all the people had completely gone over the Jordan.

²⁷ for the ark of the Lord God was there in those days,

³ And the people came to the camp, and the elders of Israel said, Why has the Lord caused us to fall this day before the Philistines? Let us take the ark of our God out of Shiloh, and let it proceed from the midst of us, and it shall save us from the hand of our enemies.

¹¹ So I swore in My wrath, They shall not enter into My rest.

¹² This is the rest to him that is hungry, and this is the calamity; but they would not hear.

¹ Thus says the Lord: Heaven is My throne, and the earth is My footstool; what kind of a house will you build for Me? And of what kind is to be the place of My rest?

¹⁶ And it shall come to pass that when you are multiplied and increased upon the land, says the Lord, in those days they shall say no more, The ark of the Covenant of the Holy One of Israel. It shall not come to mind; it shall not be named; neither shall it be visited; nor shall this be done anymore.

¹⁶ Thus says the Lord, Stand in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths of the Lord; and see what is the good way and walk in it, and you shall find purification for your souls. But they said, We will not walk in them.

⁸ Behold, I bring them from the north, and I will gather them from the end of the earth to the feast of the Passover: and the people shall beget a great multitude, and they shall return there. ⁹ They went forth with weeping, and I will bring them back with consolation, causing them to lodge by the channels of waters in a straight way, and they shall not err in it: for I have become a father to Israel, and Ephraim is My firstborn.

⁶ in that day I helped them with My hand, to bring them out of the land of Egypt into the land which I prepared for them, a land flowing with milk and honey, it is abundant beyond every land.

²⁸ Come to Me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. ²⁹ Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. ³⁰ For My yoke is easy and My burden is light."

³ For we who have believed enter that rest, as He has said: "So I swore in My wrath, they shall not enter My rest," although His works were finished from the foundation of the world. ⁴ For He has said somewhere concerning the seventh day thus, "And God rested on the seventh day from all His works"; ⁵ and again in this place: "They shall not enter My rest." ⁶ Therefore since it remains for some to enter into it, and those formerly having the gospel preached to them did not enter on account of disobedience, ⁷ again He appoints a certain day, saying in David, "Today," after such a time, just as it has been said: "Today, if you will hear His voice, do not harden your hearts." ⁸ For if Joshua had given them rest, then He would not have spoken afterward of another day. ⁹ Then there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God. ¹⁰ For he who has entered into His rest also rested himself from his works, as God did from His own. ¹¹ Let us therefore be diligent to enter into that rest, lest anyone falls in the same example of disobedience.

²⁰ Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the everlasting covenant, ²¹ And God led them in the day by a pillar of cloud, to show them the way, and in the night by a pillar of fire. ²² And the pillar of cloud failed not by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, before all the people.

¹⁵ And in the day in which the tabernacle was pitched the cloud covered the tabernacle, the place of the testimony; and in the evening there was upon the tabernacle as the appearance of fire till the morning. ¹⁶ So it was continually: the cloud covered it by day, and the appearance of fire by night.

¹² And You guided them by day by a pillar of cloud, and by night by a pillar of fire, to enlighten for them the way in which they should walk.

¹⁹ Yet You in Your great mercy did not forsake them in the wilderness; You did not turn away from them the pillar of the cloud by day, to guide them in the way, nor the pillar of fire by night, to enlighten for them the way in which they should walk.

³⁹ He spread out a cloud for a covering to them, and fire to give them light by night.

¹⁰ and who recompenses them that hate Him to their face, to utterly destroy them; and will not be slack with them that hate Him; He will recompense them to their face.

⁴¹ For I will sharpen My sword like lightning, and My hand shall take hold of judgment; and I will render judgment to My enemies, and will recompense them that hate Me.

¹ For the end, A Psalm of a Song by David. Let God arise, and let His enemies be scattered; and let them that hate Him flee from before Him. ² As smoke vanishes, let them vanish: as wax melts before the fire, so let the sinners perish from before God.

⁸ Arise, O Lord, into Your rest; You, and the ark of Your holiness.

¹² Woe to the multitude of many nations, as the swelling sea, so shall you be confounded; and the force of many nations shall sound like water; ¹³ many nations like much water, as when much water rushes violently; and they shall drive him away, and pursue him afar, as the dust of chaff when men winnow before the wind, and as a storm whirling the dust of the wheel. ¹⁴ Toward evening, and there shall be grief; before the morning, and he shall not be. This is the portion of them that spoiled you, and the inheritance to them that robbed you of your inheritance.

⁹ Awake, awake, O Jerusalem, and put on the strength of your arm; awake as in the early time, as the ancient generation.

⁶⁰ And they blessed Rebecca, and said to her, You are our sister; may you become the mother of thousands and thousands, and let your seed possess the cities of their enemies.

¹⁰ The Lord your God has multiplied you, and behold, you are today as the stars of heaven in multitude.

¹³ Return, O Lord! How long? And have compassion concerning Your servants. ¹⁴ We have been satisfied in the morning with Your mercy; and we did exalt and rejoice; ¹⁵ let us rejoice in all our days, in return for the days in which You afflicted us, the years in which we saw evil. ¹⁶ And look upon Your servants, and upon Your works; and guide their children. ¹⁷ And let the brightness of the Lord our God be upon us; and establish for us the works of our hands.

¹⁷ Why have You caused us to err, O Lord, from Your way? And have hardened our hearts, that we should not fear You? Return for Your servants' sake, for the sake of the tribes of Your inheritance,
