¹³ Is it a little thing that you have brought us up to a land flowing with milk and honey, to kill us in the wilderness, and that you altogether rule over us?

¹¹ And he set over them taskmasters, who should afflict them in their works; and they built strong cities for Pharaoh, both Pithom, and Raamses, and On, which is Heliopolis.

²² And Pharaoh charged all his people, saying, Whatever male child shall be born to the Hebrews, cast into the river; and every female, save it alive.

¹⁴ And he said, Who made you a ruler and a judge over us? Will you slay me as you slew the Egyptian yesterday? Then Moses was alarmed, and said, If it be thus, this matter has become known.

²³ And in those days after a length of time, the king of Egypt died. And the children of Israel groaned because of their tasks, and cried, and their cry because of their tasks went up to God.

³ And the children of Israel said to them, Would we had died smitten by the Lord in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the fleshpots, and ate bread to the full! For you have brought us out into this wilderness, to slay all this congregation with hunger.

³ And the people thirsted there for water, and there the people murmured against Moses, saying, Why is this? Have you brought us up out of Egypt to slay us and our children and our cattle with thirst?

⁵ We remember the fish which we ate freely in Egypt; and the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the garlic, and the onions.

² And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron; and all the congregation said to them,

³ And the people reviled Moses, saying, If only we had died in the destruction of our brethren before the Lord! ⁴ And why have you brought up the congregation of the Lord into this wilderness, to kill us and our cattle?

² The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers gathered themselves together, against the Lord, and against His Christ; ³ saying, Let us break through Their bonds, and cast away Their yoke from us.

¹⁴ But his citizens hated him, and sent a delegation after him, saying, 'We will not have this man to reign over us.'

²⁵ For he supposed that his brothers understood that God was giving to them deliverance by his hand, but they did not understand. ²⁶ And on the next day he appeared to them as they were fighting, and tried to reconcile them to peace, saying, 'Men, you are brothers; why do you wrong one another?' ²⁷ "But the one wronging his neighbor pushed him away, saying, 'Who appointed you a ruler and a judge over us?

³⁵ This Moses whom they denied, saying, 'Who appointed you a ruler and a judge?' This man God sent as a ruler and redeemer by the hand of the Angel who appeared to him in the bush.
