²⁰ Hear, son, the instruction of your father, that you may be wise in your latter days.

¹⁰ Who has calculated the seed of Jacob, and who shall number the families of Israel? Let my soul die with the souls of the righteous, and let my seed be as their seed.

¹⁶ who fed you with manna in the wilderness, which you knew not, and your fathers knew not; that He might afflict you, and thoroughly test you, and do you good in your latter days.

²⁹ They had not sense to understand; let them reserve these things against the time to come.

³⁷ Maintain innocence, and behold uprightness; for there is a remnant to the peaceable man.

¹² And who knows how to number his days because of the fear of Your wrath? So manifest Your right hand, and those that are instructed in wisdom in the heart.

¹⁴ We have been satisfied in the morning with Your mercy; and we did exalt and rejoice;

⁸ Hear, my son, the instruction of your father, and reject not the rules of your mother.

¹ My son, if you will receive the utterance of my commandment, and hide it within you; ² your ear shall hearken to wisdom; you shall also apply your heart to understanding, and shall apply it to the instruction of your son. ³ For if you shall call to wisdom, and utter your voice for understanding; ⁴ and if you shall seek it as silver, and search diligently for it as for treasures; ⁵ then shall you understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God. ⁶ For the Lord gives wisdom, and from His presence come knowledge and understanding, ⁷ and He treasures up salvation for them that walk uprightly: He will protect their way; ⁸ that He may guard the righteous ways: and He will preserve the way of them that fear Him. ⁹ Then shall you understand righteousness and judgment, equity and every good path.

³⁴ watching daily at my doors, waiting at the posts of my entrances. ³⁵ For my outgoings are the outgoings of life, and in them is prepared favor from the Lord.
