³ The folly of a man spoils his ways, and he blames God in his heart.

^{6 (3:7)} And the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes to look upon and beautiful to contemplate, and having taken of its fruit she ate, and she gave to her husband also with her, and they ate. ^{7 (3:8)} And the eyes of both of them were opened, and they perceived that they were naked, and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves coverings to go around them. ^{8 (3:9)} And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day; and both Adam and his wife hid themselves from the face of the Lord God in the midst of the trees of the garden. ^{9 (3:10)} And the Lord God called Adam and said to him, Adam, where are you? ^{10 (3:11)} And he said to Him, I heard Your voice as You walked in the garden, and I feared because I was naked and I hid myself. ^{11 (3:12)} And God said to him, Who told you that you were naked, unless you have eaten of the tree of which I commanded you not to eat? ^{12 (3:13)} And Adam said, The woman whom You gave to be with me — she gave me of the tree, and I ate.

⁵ but Cain and his sacrifices He regarded not, and Cain was exceedingly sorrowful and his countenance fell. ⁶ And the Lord God said to Cain, Why are you downcast, and why has your countenance fallen? ⁷ Have you not sinned if you have brought it rightly, but not rightly divided it? Be still, to you shall be his submission, and you shall rule over him. ⁸ And Cain said to Abel his brother, Let us go out into the plain. And it came to pass, that when they were in the plain, Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and killed him. ⁹ And the Lord God said to Cain, Where is Abel your brother? And he said, I do not know — am I my brother's keeper? ¹⁰ And the Lord said, What have you done? The voice of your brother's blood cries out to Me from the ground. ¹¹ And now you are cursed from the earth which has opened her mouth to receive your brother's blood from your hand. ¹² When you till the earth, then it shall not continue to give its strength to you: you shall be groaning and trembling on the earth. ¹³ And Cain said to the Lord God, My crime is too great for me to be forgiven. ¹⁴ If You cast me out this day from the face of the earth, and I shall be hidden from Your presence, and I shall be groaning and trembling upon the earth, then it will be that anyone that finds me shall kill me.

¹⁹ And Korah raised up against them all his company by the door of the tabernacle of witness; and the glory of the Lord appeared to all the congregation. ²⁰ And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying, ²¹ Separate yourselves from the midst of this congregation, and I will consume them at once. ²² And they fell on their faces, and said, O God, the God of spirits and of all flesh, if one man has sinned, shall the wrath of the Lord be upon the whole congregation? ²³ And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, ²⁴ Speak to the congregation, saying, Depart from the company of Korah round about. ²⁵ And Moses rose up and went to Dathan and Abiram, and all the elders of Israel went with him. ²⁶ And he spoke to the congregation, saying, Separate yourselves from the tents of these stubborn men, and touch nothing that belongs to them, lest you be consumed with them in all their sin. ²⁷ And they stood aloof from the tent of Korah round about; and Dathan and Abiram went forth and stood by the doors of their tents, and their wives and their children and their store. ²⁸ And Moses said, Hereby shall you know that the Lord has sent me to perform all these works, that I have not done them of myself. ²⁹ If these men shall die according to the death of all men, if also their visitation shall be according to the visitation of all men, then the Lord has not sent me. ³⁰ But if the Lord shall show by a wonder, and the earth shall open her mouth and swallow them up, and their houses, and their tents, and all that belongs to them, and they shall go down alive into Hades, then you shall know that these men have provoked the Lord. ³¹ And when he ceased speaking all these words, the ground split apart beneath them. ³² And the ground opened, and swallowed them up, and their houses, and all the men that were with Korah, and their cattle. ³³ And they went down, they and all that they had, alive into Hades; and the ground covered them, and they perished from the midst of the congregation. ³⁴ And all Israel round about them fled from the sound of them, for they said, Lest the earth swallow us up, too! ³⁵ And fire went forth from the Lord, and devoured the two hundred and fifty men that offered incense. ³⁶ And the Lord said to Moses, ³⁷ and to Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, Take up the bronze censers out of the midst of the men that have been burned, and scatter the strange fire yonder, for they have sanctified the censers ³⁸ of these sinners against their own souls, and make for them hammered plates as a covering for the altar, because they were brought before the Lord and hallowed; and they became a sign to the children of Israel. ³⁹ And Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest took the bronze censers, which the men who had been burned brought near, and they put them as a covering on the altar, ⁴⁰ a memorial to the children of Israel that no stranger might draw near, who is not of the seed of Aaron, to offer incense before the Lord; so he shall not be as Korah and as they that conspired with him, as the Lord spoke to him by the hand of Moses. ⁴¹ And the children of Israel murmured the next day against Moses and Aaron, saying, You have killed the people of the Lord.

¹² And the children of Israel spoke to Moses, saying, Behold, we are cut off, we are destroyed, we are consumed. ¹³ Everyone that touches the tabernacle of the Lord, dies: shall we die utterly?

¹³ And Samuel said to Saul, You have done foolishly, for you have not kept my command, which the Lord commanded you, as now the Lord would have confirmed your kingdom over Israel forever.

²³ For sin is as divination; idols bring on pain and grief. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, the Lord also shall reject you from being king over Israel.

¹³ And Saul said to him, Why have you and the son of Jesse conspired against me, that you should give him bread and a sword, and should inquire of God for him, to raise him up against me as an enemy, as he is this day? ¹⁴ And he answered the king, and said, And who is there among all your servants as faithful as David, and he is a son-in-law of the king, and he is executor of all your commands, and is honorable in your house? ¹⁵ Have I begun today to inquire of God for him? By no means: let not the king bring a charge against his servant, and against any of my father's house, for your servant knew not in all these matters anything great or small. ¹⁶ And King Saul said, You shall surely die, Abimelech; you and all your father's house. ¹⁷ And the king said to the footmen that attended on him, Come here and kill the priests of the Lord, because their hand is with David, and because they knew that he fled, and they did not inform me. But the servants of the king would not lift their hands to fall upon the priest of the Lord. ¹⁸ And the king said to Doeg, Turn, and fall upon the priests: and Doeg the Syrian turned, and killed the priests of the Lord in that day, three hundred and five men, all wearing an ephod. ¹⁹ And he struck Nob, the city of the priest, with the edge of the sword, both man and woman, infant and suckling, calf and ox, and also sheep. ²⁰ And one son of Abimelech son of Ahitub escaped, and his name was Abiathar, and he fled after David. ²¹ And Abiathar told David that Saul had slain all the priests of the Lord. ²² And David said to Abiathar, I knew it in that day, that Doeg the Syrian would surely tell Saul: I am guilty of the death of the house of your father. ²³ Dwell with me; fear not, for wherever I shall seek a place of safety for my life, I will also seek a place for your life, for you are safely guarded while you are with me.

⁴² And he said to him, Thus says the Lord: Because you have allowed this man appointed to destruction to escape out of your hand, therefore your life shall go for his life, and your people for his people. ⁴³ And the king of Israel departed, confounded and discouraged, and came to Samaria.

⁹ And the king of Israel went, and the king of Judah, and the king of Edom; and they marched on that roundabout route for seven days; and there was no water for the army, and for the cattle that went with them. ¹⁰ And the king of Israel said, Alas! That the Lord should have called the three kings on their way, to give them into the hand of Moab.

³³ While he was yet speaking with them, behold, a messenger came to him. And he said, Behold, this evil is of the Lord; why should I wait for the Lord any longer?

⁹ For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout all the earth, to strengthen every heart that is perfect toward Him. In this you have done foolishly; henceforth there shall be war with you. ¹⁰ And Asa was angry with the prophet, and put him in prison, for he was angry at this. And Asa oppressed some of the people at that time.

¹ A Psalm of David. Do not fret because of evildoers, neither be envious of them that do iniquity.

⁷ Submit yourself to the Lord, and make supplication to Him; do not fret because of him that prospers in his way, at the man that does unlawful deeds.

³ When a just man dies he leaves regret, but the destruction of the ungodly is speedy, and causes joy.

²¹ And famine shall come sorely upon you, and it shall come to pass, that when you shall be hungry, you shall be grieved, and you shall speak evil of the prince and of your fathers' ordinances; and they shall look up to heaven above, ²² and they shall look on the earth below, and behold severe distress, and darkness, affliction, and anguish, and darkness so that no one can see; and he that is in anguish shall not be distressed only for a season.

⁴⁵ And the Jews, seeing the crowds, they were filled with jealousy and spoke against the things being said by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming. ⁴⁶ But Paul and Barnabas, speaking boldly said, "It was necessary for the word of God to be spoken to you first; but since you thrust it away, and judge yourselves not worthy of eternal life; behold, we turn to the Gentiles.

⁹ And men were burned with severe burns, and men blasphemed the name of God who has power over these plagues; and they did not repent to give Him glory. ¹⁰ Then the fifth one poured out his bowl on the throne of the Beast, and his kingdom became darkened; and they gnawed their tongues from the pain. ¹¹ They blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their ulcers, and they did not repent of their works.
