¹³ But I will cry to You, O Lord, in my prayer; O God, it is a propitious time: in the multitude of Your mercy hear me, in the truth of Your salvation.

²⁷ and said, Blessed be the Lord, the God of my master Abraham, who has not allowed His righteousness to fail, nor His truth from my master, and the Lord has brought me prosperously to the house of the brother of my lord.

⁸ Ask your servants, and they will tell you. Let then your servants find grace in your eyes, for we have come on a good day; please give whatsoever your hand may find, to your son David.

² And having raised the golden scepter he laid it upon her neck, and embraced her, and said, Speak to me. And she said to him, I saw you, my lord, as an angel of God, and my heart was troubled for fear of your glory; for you, my lord, are to be wondered at, and your face is full of grace. And while she was speaking, she fainted and fell. Then the king was troubled, and all his servants comforted her.

⁶ And at the banquet the king said to Esther, What is your request, Queen Esther? Speak, and you shall have all that you require.

² And the king said to Esther at the banquet on the second day, What is it, Queen Esther? And what is your request, and what is your petition? And it shall be done for you, up to half of my kingdom.

⁶ Therefore shall every holy one pray to You in a fit time; only in the deluge of many waters they shall not come near to Him.

¹⁰ I have not hid Your truth within my heart, and I have declared Your salvation; I have not hid Your mercy and Your truth from the great congregation. ¹¹ But You, O Lord, remove not Your compassion far from me; Your mercy and Your truth have helped me continually.

¹⁶ I cried to God, and the Lord hearkened to me. ¹⁷ Evening and morning and at noon I will declare and make known my needs; and He shall hear my voice.

¹⁵ He shall call upon Me, and I will hearken to him; I am with him in affliction; and I will deliver him, and glorify him.

³ He has remembered His mercy to Jacob, and His truth to the house of Israel; all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.

⁸ Thus says the Lord, In an acceptable time have I heard you, and in a day of salvation have I helped you; and I have formed you, and given you for a covenant of the nations, to establish the earth, and to cause to inherit the desert heritages;

⁶ Seek the Lord, and when you find Him, call upon Him; and when He draws near to you,

²⁰ He shall give blessings truly to Jacob, and mercy to Abraham, as You swore to our fathers, according to the former days.

³⁶ Then Jesus came with them to a place called Gethsemane, and said to the disciples, "Sit here while I go off and pray over there." ³⁷ And taking along Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, He began to be sorrowful and deeply distressed. ³⁸ Then Jesus said to them, "My soul is deeply grieved, to the point of death. Stay here and watch with Me." ³⁹ He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, "O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will." ⁴⁰ Then He came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, "What? Were you not strong enough to watch with Me one hour? ⁴¹ Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. Indeed the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak." ⁴² Again, a second time, He went away and prayed, saying, "O My Father, if this cup cannot pass away from Me unless I drink it, let Your will be done." ⁴³ And He came and found them sleeping again, for their eyes were heavy. ⁴⁴ And leaving them, He went away again, and prayed a third time, saying the same words. ⁴⁵ Then He came to His disciples and said to them, "Sleep now, and rest. Behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of sinners. ⁴⁶ Rise up, let us be going. See, he who betrays Me is at hand."

⁷² to perform the mercy promised to our fathers and to remember His holy covenant,

⁴⁴ And being in agony, He prayed more fervently. Then His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down onto the ground.

¹ Jesus spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said: "Father, the time has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You, ² just as You have given Him authority over all flesh, so that He will give eternal life to all You have given Him. ³ And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent. ⁴ I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do. ⁵ And now, O Father, glorify Me alongside Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was. ⁶ I have manifested Your name to the men whom You have given Me out of the world. They were Yours, You have given them to Me, and they have kept Your word. ⁷ Now they have known that all things which You have given Me are from You. ⁸ Because I have given to them the words which You have given Me; and they have received them, and they knew truly that I came forth from You; and they have believed that You sent Me. ⁹ I pray for them. I do not pray for the world but for those whom You have given Me, for they are Yours. ¹⁰ And all Mine are Yours, and Yours are Mine, and I have been glorified in them. ¹¹ And I am no longer in the world, yet these are in the world, and I am coming to You. Holy Father, keep through Your name those which You have given Me, that they may be one just as We are. ¹² When I was with them in the world, I kept them in Your name. Those whom You have given Me I guarded; and not one of them is lost except the son of perdition, so that the Scripture might be fulfilled. ¹³ But now I am coming to You, and these things I speak in the world, so that they may have My joy fulfilled in themselves. ¹⁴ I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. ¹⁵ I do not ask that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one. ¹⁶ They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. ¹⁷ Sanctify them by Your truth; Your word is truth. ¹⁸ Just as You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. ¹⁹ And for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also may be sanctified by the truth. ²⁰ "I am not praying for these alone, but also for those who believe in Me through their word; ²¹ so that they all may be one, just as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me. ²² And the glory which You have given to Me, I have given to them, so that they may be one just as We are one: ²³ I in them, and You in Me; so that they may be perfected in unity, and so that the world may know that You have sent Me, and You loved them just as You loved Me. ²⁴ Father, I desire that those also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, so that they may behold My glory which You gave to Me; because You loved Me before the foundation of the world. ²⁵ O righteous Father! Indeed the world did not know You, yet I knew You; and these knew that You sent Me. ²⁶ And I made known to them Your name, and I will make it known, so that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them."

³² And we proclaim to you the good news of the promise which was made to the fathers, ³³ that God has fulfilled this promise for us to their children, when He raised up Jesus, as it is also written in the second Psalm: 'You are My Son, today I have begotten You.'

⁸ Now I say that Christ Jesus has become a servant to the circumcision for the truth of God, in order to confirm the promises to the fathers, ⁹ and that the Gentiles might glorify God on behalf of His mercy, as it is written: "For this reason I will confess to You among the Gentiles, and I will sing praise to Your name."

² For He says: "In an acceptable time I have heard you, and in the day of salvation I have helped you." Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.

⁷ who, in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up both prayers and supplications, with strong crying and tears to the One who was able to save Him from death, and was heard because of His fear of God,

²³ who, being verbally abused, did not return verbal insults, when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously;
