² Preserve my soul, for I am holy; save Your servant, O God, who trusts in You.

⁷ It is not because you are more numerous than all other nations that the Lord has preferred you, and the Lord has chosen you: for you are fewer in number than all other nations. ⁸ But because the Lord has loved you, and He is keeping the oath which He swore to your fathers; the Lord has brought you out with a strong hand, and the Lord has redeemed you from the house of bondage, out of the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

⁹ granting his petition to him that prays; and He blesses the years of the righteous, for by strength cannot man prevail.

³ But know that the Lord has done wondrous things for His holy one: the Lord will hear me when I cry to Him.

⁵ But I have hoped in Your mercy; my heart shall rejoice in Your salvation.

¹ A writing of David. Keep me, O Lord; for I have hoped in You.

¹⁹ And He brought me out into a wide place; He shall deliver me, because He has pleasure in me.

² O my God, I have trusted in You; let me not be confounded, neither let my enemies laugh me to scorn.

¹ For the end, A Psalm of David, an utterance of extreme fear. O Lord, I have hoped in You; let me never be ashamed; deliver me in Your righteousness and rescue me.

¹⁴ But I hoped in You, O Lord; I said, You are my God.

²⁸ For the Lord loves judgment, and will not forsake His saints; they shall be preserved forever; the blameless shall be avenged, but the seed of the ungodly shall be utterly destroyed.

⁵ Assemble His saints to Him, those that have engaged in a covenant with Him upon sacrifices.

⁹⁴ I am Yours, save me; for I have sought out Your statutes.

¹²⁴ Deal with Your servant according to Your mercy, and teach me Your statutes. ¹²⁵ I am Your servant; instruct me, and I shall know Your testimonies.

¹² And in Your mercy You will destroy my enemies, and will destroy all those that afflict my soul; for I am Your servant.

³ supporting truth, and keeping peace; for on You, O Lord, ⁴ they have trusted with confidence forever, the great, eternal God;

²⁷ My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. ²⁸ And I give to them eternal life, and they shall never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. ²⁹ My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father's hand.

²⁶ And if anyone serve Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant shall be also. If anyone serve Me, him My Father will honor.

¹¹ And I am no longer in the world, yet these are in the world, and I am coming to You. Holy Father, keep through Your name those which You have given Me, that they may be one just as We are.

¹⁸ So then He has mercy on whom He wills, and whom He wills He hardens.

²³ and so that He might make known the riches of His glory on the vessels of mercy, which He had prepared beforehand for glory, ²⁴ even us whom He called, not only of the Jews, but also of the Gentiles?

¹² And again, Isaiah says: "There shall be the root of Jesse; and He that shall rise to rule over the Gentiles, in Him the Gentiles shall hope." ¹³ Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

¹² so that we should be to the praise of His glory, we who first trusted in Christ; ¹³ in whom also you, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,

³ nor as being masters over the flock under you, but rather being examples to the flock. ⁴ And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory. ⁵ Likewise, younger people, subject yourselves to the elders. And all of you be subject to one another, and be clothed with humility, because "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble."
