¹ As to sons of Reuben, first-born of Israel--for he [is] the first-born, and on account of his profaning the couch of his father has his birthright been given to the sons of Joseph son of Israel, and [he is] not to be reckoned by genealogy for the birthright, ² for Judah has been mighty over his brother, and for leader above him, and the birthright [is] to Joseph. ³ Sons of Reuben, first-born of Israel:Hanoch, and Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi. ⁴ Sons of Joel:Shemaiah his son, Gog his son, Shimei his son, ⁵ Micah his son, Reaiah his son, Baal his son, ⁶ Beerah his son, whom Tilgath-Pilneser king of Asshur removed; he [is] prince of the Reubenite. ⁷ And his brethren, by their families, in the genealogy of their generations, [are] heads:Jeiel, and Zechariah, ⁸ and Bela son of Azaz, son of Shema, son of Joel--he is dwelling in Aroer, even unto Nebo and Baal-Meon;" ⁹ and at the east he dwelt even unto the entering in of the wilderness, even from the river Phrat, for their cattle were multiplied in the land of Gilead. ¹⁰ And in the days of Saul they have made war with the Hagarites, who fall by their hand, and they dwell in their tents over all the face of the east of Gilead. ¹¹ And the sons of Gad, over-against them have dwelt in the land of Bashan unto Salcah, ¹² Joel the head, and Shapham the second, and Jaanai and Shaphat in Bashan;" ¹³ and their brethren of the house of their fathers [are] Michael, and Meshullam, and Sheba, and Jorai, and Jachan, and Zia, and Heber, seven. ¹⁴ These [are] sons of Abihail son of Huri, son of Jaroah, son of Gilead, son of Michael, son of Jeshishai, son of Jahdo, son of Buz;" ¹⁵ Ahi son of Abdiel, son of Guni, [is] head of the house of their fathers;" ¹⁶ and they dwell in Gilead in Bashan, and in her small towns, and in all suburbs of Sharon, upon their outskirts;" ¹⁷ all of them reckoned themselves by genealogy in the days of Jotham king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam king of Israel. ¹⁸ Sons of Reuben, and the Gadite, and the half of the tribe of Manasseh, of sons of valor, men bearing shield and sword, and treading bow, and taught in battle, [are] forty and four thousand and seven hundred and sixty, going out to the host. ¹⁹ And they make war with the Hagarites, and Jetur, and Naphish, and Nodab, ²⁰ and they are helped against them, and the Hagarites are given into their hand, and all who [are] with them, for they cried to Elohim in battle, and He was entreated of them, because they trusted in Him. ²¹ And they take captive their cattle, of their camels fifty thousand, and of sheep two hundred and fifty thousand, and of asses two thousand, and of human beings a hundred thousand;" ²² for many have fallen pierced, for of Elohim [is] the battle; and they dwell in their stead till the removal. ²³ And the sons of the half of the tribe of Manasseh dwelt in the land, from Bashan unto Baal-Hermon, and Senir, and mount Hermon, they have multiplied. ²⁴ And these [are] heads of the house of their fathers, even Epher, and Ishi, and Eliel, and Azriel, and Jeremiah, and Hodaviah, and Jahdiel, men mighty in valor, men of name, heads to the house of their fathers. ²⁵ And they trespass against the Elohim of their fathers, and go a-whoring after the elohims of the peoples of the land whom Elohim destroyed from their presence;" ²⁶ and stir up does the Elohim of Israel the spirit of Pul king of Asshur, and the spirit of Tilgath-Pilneser king of Asshur, and he removes them--even the Reubenite, and the Gadite, and the half of the tribe of Manasseh--and brings them in to Halah, and Habor, and Hara, and the river of Gozan unto this day.

⁹ And seeing is Sarah the son of Hagar, the Egyptian, whom she bore for Abraham, making fun of Isaac her son.

¹² And these are the genealogical annals of Ishmael, son of Abraham, whom Hagar, the Egyptian, Sarah's maid, bore for Abraham.

¹⁵ and Chador and Tema and Jetur and Naphish and Kedemah.

²³ And saying is Yahweh to her, "Two nations are in your belly, and two folkstems shall be parted from your bowels. And one folkstem shall be more resolute than the other folkstem. And the greater shall serve the inferior.

³² And pregnant is Leah and is bearing a son for Jacob. And calling is she his name Reuben for she says, "For see does Yahweh my humiliation and gives me a son, for now my husband will love me.

²² And coming is it, when Israel tabernacles in that land, that going is Reuben and lying with Bilhah, his father's concubine. And hearing of it is Israel, and evil appears it in his eyes. ²³ And coming are the sons of Jacob to be twelve: The sons of Leah, the firstborn of Jacob, Reuben, and Simeon and Levi and Judah and Issachar and Zebulon;"

⁸ And these are the names of the sons of Israel coming to Egypt: Jacob and his sons: The firstborn of Jacob, Reuben. ⁹ And the sons of Reuben: Enoch and Phallu and Hezron and Carmi.

¹⁵ And blessing them is he and saying, "The Elohim before Whom my forefathers, Abraham and Isaac, walked, the Elohim, my Shepherd from my youth till this day, ¹⁶ the Messenger, my Redeemer from all evil, bless these youths. And called on them shall be my name, and the name of my forefathers, Abraham and Isaac. And prolific shall they be, to make a vast increase within the land. ¹⁷ And seeing is Joseph that his father is setting his right hand on Ephraim's head, and evil is it in his eyes. And up is Joseph holding his father's hand, to take it away, off of Ephraim's head, on to Manasseh's head. ¹⁸ And saying is Joseph to his father, "Not so, my father, for this is the firstborn. Place your right on his head. ¹⁹ And refusing is his father and saying, "I know, my son! I know! Moreover, he shall become a people, and he shall become great. Howbeit, his smaller brother shall be greater than he. And his seed shall become a fullness of the nations. ²⁰ And blessing them is he in that day, saying, "By you shall Israel bless, saying, "The Elohim make you as Ephraim and as Manasseh!.And placing is he Ephraim before Manasseh. ²¹ And saying is Israel to Joseph, "Behold! I am dying. Yet the Elohim comes to be with you, and restores you to the land of your forefathers!" ²² And I, behold! I give to you Shechem, one share over your brothers, of that which I took from the hand of the Amorite with my sword and with my bow.

³ Reuben, my firstborn, you are my vigor, and the beginning of my virility, with a surplus for bearing and a surplus of strength. ⁴ Ebullient as water, you must not have a surplus! For up you went to the bed of your father. Then you violated my berth to which you went up.

⁸ Judah, you and your brothers will acclaim. Your hands shall be on the scruff of your enemies. Prostrate to you shall the sons of your father. ⁹ The whelp of a lion is Judah. From the prey, my son, bow will he, recline as a lion. And as a parent lion, who will make him rise? ¹⁰ Not withdraw shall the sceptre from Judah, nor a statue-maker's staff from between his feet, till it be that ease shall come to him. And to it shall the expectation of the people be.

²⁶ blessings of your father and your mother. Master are they over the blessings of my mountains, unto the yearning of the eonian hills, coming are they on the head of Joseph, and on the crown of the governor of his brothers.

¹⁴ These are the heads of their fathers' house: The sons of Reuben, the firstborn of Israel, are Hanoch and Pallu, Hezron and Carmi; these are the families of Reuben.

¹¹ Now it came to be just as Moses was raising high his hands that Israel had the mastery, and just as he was giving his hands rest then Amalek had the mastery.

¹⁵ lest you contract a covenant with the dweller of the land when they prostitute after their elohim and sacrifice to their elohim lest one call to you that you eat of his sacrifice.

⁸ The nakedness of your father's wife you shall not expose. It is the nakedness of your father.

¹¹ As for a man who lies with his father's wife, he has exposed his father's nakedness. The two of them shall be put to death, yea death; their bloodguilt will be on them.

³ from twenty years old and upward, everyone going forth with the militia host in Israel. You shall muster them by their militia hosts, you and Aaron.

⁵ These are the names of the men who shall stand with you:for Reuben, Elizur son of Shedeur;"

³ Those encamping eastward, toward the sunrise, are under the standard of the camp of Judah, by their militia hosts. The prince for the sons of Judah is Nahshon son of Amminadab;"

¹² The one bringing near his approach present on the first day was Nahshon son of Amminadab, for the stock of Judah.

¹ Korah son of Izhar, son of Kohath, son of Levi, arose along with Dathan and Abiram, sons of Eliab, and On son of Peleth (sons of Reuben);"

⁵ Reuben, firstborn of Israel, and the sons of Reuben:through Hanoch, the Hanochite family; through Pallu the Palluite family;"

⁵ Reuben, firstborn of Israel, and the sons of Reuben:through Hanoch, the Hanochite family; through Pallu the Palluite family;" ⁶ through Hezron the Hezronite family; through Carmi the Carmite family. ⁷ These were the Reubenite families. Their mustered ones were forty-three thousand seven hundred thirty. ⁸ The sons of Pallu were Eliab ⁹ and the sons of Eliab, Nemuel, Dathan and Abiram. The same Dathan and Abiram were the called of the congregation who strove against Moses and against Aaron in the congregation of Korah when they strove against Yahwe.

³⁵ As for the human souls of womenfolk who had not known bed with a male, all the souls were thirty-two thousand.

³⁴ The sons of Gad rebuilt Dibon, Ataroth, Aroer,

³⁴ The sons of Gad rebuilt Dibon, Ataroth, Aroer, ³⁵ Atroth-shophan, Jazer, Jogbehah, ³⁶ Beth-nimran and Beth-haran as fortress cities or stone dikes for flocks.

³⁸ as well as Nebo and Baal-meon (turned around in name), and Sibmah; for they called the names of the cities which they rebuilt by their own names.

⁸ At that time we took the area from the hand of the two kings of the Amorite who were in Transjordan, from the watercourse of Arnon as far as Mount Hermo. ⁹ (the Sidonians call Hermon Sirion, and the Amorite call it Shenir), ¹⁰ all the cities of the tableland and all Gilead and all Bashan as far as Salchah and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan. ¹¹ (For only Og king of Bashan had remained of the rest of the Rephaim. Behold, his divan is a burial divan of wrought iron. Is it not in Rabbah of the sons of Ammon? Nine cubits is its length and four cubits its width, in the cubit measure of a man.. ¹² From this land which we took over at that time, the part from Aroer which is on the ridge of the watercourse of Arnon with half the hill-country of Gilead and its cities I gave to the Reubenite and to the Gadite. ¹³ The rest of Gilead and all of Bashan, the kingdom of Og, I gave to the half tribe of Manasseh, including the whole district of Argob. All of that Bashan is called the country of the Rephaim. ¹⁴ Jair son of Manasseh, he took the whole district of Argob as far as the boundary of the Geshurite and the Maachathite and called them (that is, Bashan) by his own name, Havvoth-jair, until this day. ¹⁵ And to Machir I gave Gilead. ¹⁶ To the Reubenite and to the Gadite I gave their half of Gilead:as far as the watercourse of Arnon (the middle of the watercourse as boundary), as far as the Jabbok watercourse, the boundary of the sons of Ammon. ¹⁷ In the west the Aravah with the Jordan was the boundary from Chinnereth as far as the sea of the Aravah, the Salt Sea, below the slopes of the Pisgah ridge toward sunrise.

¹⁷ For he shall recognize the firstborn son of the disliked by giving to him a double share of all that is being found his; since he is the beginning of his virility, the customary right of the firstborn belongs to him.

²⁰ Cursed be the one lying with the wife of his father, for he exposes his father's hem. Then all the people will say:Amen!"

¹⁵ When Yeshurun grew stout and kicked (you will be stout, thick and burly), then he abandoned Eloah Who had made him and disgraced the Rock of his salvation. ¹⁶ They made Him jealous with alien gods, with abhorrences they provoked Him to vexation. ¹⁷ They sacrificed to demons, not Eloah, to elohim--they had not known them before--to new ones that came from nearby; your fathers were not horrified by them. ¹⁸ The Rock Who generated you, you were oblivious of Him, and you forgot the El travailing with you.

⁴⁹ Go up to this mount of the Abarim range (Mount Nebo which is in the country of Moab that is overlooking Jericho), and see the land of Canaan that I am giving to the sons of Israel for a holding;"

¹ Then Moses ascended from the plains of Moab to Mount Nebo, the summit of the Pisgah ridge, which is overlooking Jericho. And Yahweh showed him all the land:Gilead as far as Dan;"

¹² and the sons of Reuben, and the sons of Gad, and the half of the tribe of Manasseh, pass over, by fifties, before the sons of Israel, as Moses had spoken unto them;" ¹³ about forty thousand, armed ones of the host, passed over before Yahweh for battle, unto the plains of Jericho.

¹⁴ And there has not been like that day before it or after it, for Yahweh's hearkening to the voice of a man; for Yahweh is fighting for Israel.

⁴² and all these kings and their land has Joshua captured [at] one time, for Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, is fighting for Israel.

¹¹ and Gilead, and the border of the Geshurite, and of the Maachathite, and all mount Hermon, and all Bashan unto Salcah;"

¹⁷ Heshbon, and all its cities which [are] in the plain, Dibon, and Bamoth-Baal, and Beth-Baal-Meon,

²⁴ And Moses gives to the tribe of Gad, to the sons of Gad, for their families;" ²⁵ and the border is to them Jazer, and all the cities of Gilead, and the half of the land of the Bene-Ammon, unto Aroer which [is] on the front of Rabbah, ²⁶ and from Heshbon unto Ramath-Mispeh, and Betonim, and from Mahanaim unto the border of Debir, ²⁷ and in the valley, Beth-Aram, and Beth-Nimrah, and Succoth, and Zaphon, the rest of the kingdom of Sihon king of Heshbon, the Jordan and [its] border, unto the extremity of the sea of Chinnereth, beyond the Jordan, eastward. ²⁸ This [is] the inheritance of the sons of Gad, for their families, the cities and their villages. ²⁹ And Moses gives to the half of the tribe of Manasseh; and it is to the half of the tribe of the sons of Manasseh, for their families. ³⁰ And their border is from Mahanaim, all Bashan, all the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, and all the small towns of Jair, which [are] in Bashan, sixty cities;" ³¹ and the half of Gilead, and Ashteroth, and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan, [are] to the sons of Machir, son of Manasseh, to the half of the sons of Machir, for their families.

⁶ And the sons of Judah come nigh unto Joshua in Gilgal, and Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenezzite said unto him, `You have known the word that Yahweh has spoken unto Moses the man of Elohim, concerning me and concerning you in Kadesh-Barnea.

⁸ and speak unto them, saying, `With great riches turn you back unto your tents, and with very much cattle, with silver, and with gold, and with brass, and with iron, and with very much raiment; divide the spoil of your enemies with your brethren.. ⁹ And the sons of Reuben, and the sons of Gad, and the half of the tribe of Manasseh, turn back and go from the sons of Israel out of Shiloh, which [is] in the land of Canaan, to go unto the land of Gilead, unto the land of their possession, in which they have possession, according to the command of Yahweh, by the hand of Moses;"

¹⁰ one man of you does pursue a thousand, for Yahweh your Elohim [is] He who is fighting for you, as He has spoken to you;"

² And Yahweh said, `Judah does go up; lo, I have given the land into his hand..

¹² and forsake Yahweh, Elohim of their fathers, who brings them out from the land of Egypt, and go after other elohims (of the elohims of the peoples who [are] round about them), and bow themselves to them, and provoke Yahweh,

¹⁷ and also unto their judges they have not hearkened, but have gone a-whoring after other elohims, and bow themselves to them; they have turned aside [with] haste out of the way [in] which their fathers walked to obey the commands of Yahweh--they have not done so.

³³ And it comes to pass, when Gideon [is] dead, that the sons of Israel turn back and go a-whoring after the Baalim, and set over them Baal-Berith for an elohim;"

¹² And Samuel takes a stone, and sets [it] between Mizpeh and Shen, and calls its name Eben-Ezer, saying, `Hitherto has Yahweh helped us..

¹ And Yahweh said unto Samuel, `Till when are you mourning for Saul, and I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? fill your horn with oil, and go, I send you unto Jesse the Beth-Lehemite, for I have seen among his sons for Myself a king.

⁶ And it comes to pass, in their coming in, that he sees Eliab, and said, `Surely, before Yahweh [is] His anointed.. <sup>7</sup> And Yahweh said unto Samuel, `Look not unto his appearance, and unto the height of his stature, for I have rejected him; for [it is] not as man sees--for man looks at the eyes, and Yahweh looks at the heart.. ⁸ And Jesse calls unto Abinadab, and causes him to pass by before Samuel; and he said, `Also on this Yahweh has not fixed.. <sup>9</sup> And Jesse causes Shammah to pass by, and he said, `Also on this Yahweh has not fixed.. ¹⁰ And Jesse causes seven of his sons to pass by before Samuel, and Samuel said to Jesse, `Yahweh has not fixed on these..

¹⁰ And Jesse causes seven of his sons to pass by before Samuel, and Samuel said to Jesse, `Yahweh has not fixed on these.. <sup>11</sup> And Samuel said unto Jesse, `Are the youngest men finished?' and he said, `Yet has been left the young; and lo, he delights himself among the flock;' and Samuel said unto Jesse, `Send and take him, for we do not turn round till his coming in hither.. ¹² And he sends, and brings him in, and he [is] ruddy, with beauty of eyes, and of good appearance; and Yahweh said, `Rise, anoint him, for this [is] he..

¹⁵ And Saul sends the messengers to see David, saying, `Bring him up in the bed unto me,' --to put him to death.

¹⁵ And David reigns over all Israel, and David is doing judgment and righteousness to all his people,

¹ And the anger of Yahweh adds to burn against Israel, and [an adversary] moves David about them, saying, `Go, number Israel and Judah..

⁴⁴ `When Your people does go out to battle against its enemy, in the way that You do send them, and they have prayed unto Yahweh the way of the city which you have fixed on, and of the house which I have builded for Your name;" ⁴⁵ then You have heard in the heavens their prayer and their supplication, and have maintained their cause.

³² And it comes to pass, at the heads of the charioteers seeing Jehoshaphat, that they said, `He [is] only the king of Israel;' and they turn aside to him to fight, and Jehoshaphat cries out,

¹⁶ And Jehoash lies with his fathers, and is buried in Samaria with the kings of Israel, and reign does Jeroboam his son in his stead.

²³ In the fifteenth year of Amaziah son of Joash king of Judah, reigned has Jeroboam son of Joash king of Israel in Samaria--forty and one years,

²⁸ And the rest of the matters of Jeroboam, and all that he did, and his might with which he fought, and with which he brought back Damascus, and Hamath of Judah, into Israel, are they not written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Israel?

⁵ And Yahweh smites the king, and he is a leper unto the day of his death, and he dwells in a separate house, and Jotham son of the king [is] over the house, judging the people of the land.

¹⁹ Pul king of Asshur has come against the land, and Menahem gives to Pul a thousand talents of silver, for his hand being with him to strengthen the kingdom in his hand.

²⁹ In the days of Pekah king of Israel has Tiglath-Pileser king of Asshur come, and takes Ijon, and Abel-Beth-Maachah, and Janoah, and Kedesh, and Hazor, and Gilead, and Galilee, all the land of Naphtali, and removes them to Asshur.

³² In the second year of Pekah son of Remaliah king of Israel reigned has Jotham son of Uzziah king of Judah.

⁷ And Ahaz sends messengers unto Tiglath-Pileser king of Asshur, saying, `Your servant and your son [am] I; come up and save me out of the hand of the king of Aram, and out of the hand of the king of Israel, who are rising up against me..

⁶ in the ninth year of Hoshea has the king of Asshur captured Samaria, and removes Israel to Asshur, and causes them to dwell in Halah, and in Habor, [by] the river Gozan, and [in] the cities of the Medes. ⁷ And it comes to pass, because the sons of Israel have sinned against Yahweh their Elohim--who brings them up out of the land of Egypt, from under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt--and fear other elohims, ⁸ and walk in the statutes of the nations that Yahweh dispossessed from the presence of the sons of Israel, and of the kings of Israel that they made;" ⁹ and the sons of Israel do covertly things that [are] not right against Yahweh their Elohim, and build for them high places in all their cities, from a tower of the watchers unto the fenced city, ¹⁰ and set up for them standing-pillars and shrines on every high height, and under every green tree, ¹¹ and make perfume there in all high places, like the nations that Yahweh removed from their presence, and do evil things to provoke Yahweh, ¹² and serve the idols, of which Yahweh said to them, `You do not do this thing;. <sup>13</sup> And Yahweh testifies against Israel, and against Judah, by the hand of every prophet, and every seer, saying, `Turn back from your evil ways, and keep My commands, My statutes, according to all the law that I commanded your fathers, and that I sent unto you by the hand of My servants the prophets;. ¹⁴ and they have not hearkened, and harden their neck, like the neck of their fathers, who did not remain stedfast in Yahweh their Elohim, ¹⁵ and reject His statutes and His covenant that He made with their fathers, and His testimonies that He testified against them, and go after the vain thing, and become vain, and after the nations that are round about them, of whom Yahweh commanded them not to do like them;" ¹⁶ And they forsake all the commands of Yahweh their Elohim, and make to them a molten image--two calves, and make a shrine, and bow themselves to all the host of the heavens, and serve Baal, ¹⁷ and cause their sons and their daughters to pass over through fire, and divine divinations, and use enchantments, and sell themselves to do the evil thing in the eyes of Yahweh, to provoke Him;" ¹⁸ That Yahweh shows himself very angry against Israel, and turns them aside from His presence; none has been left, only the tribe of Judah by itself.

¹¹ and the king of Asshur removes Israel to Asshur, and placed them in Halah, and in Habor [by] the river Gozan, and [in] cities of the Medes,

¹² did the elohims of the nations deliver them whom my fathers destroyed--Gozan, and Haran, and Rezeph, and the sons of Eden, who [are] in Thelassar?

³¹ Jetur, Naphish, and Kedema. These are sons of Ishmael.

¹ These [are] sons of Israel:Reuben, Simeon, Levi, and Judah, Issachar, and Zebulun,

³⁸ These who are coming in by name [are] princes in their families, and the house of their fathers have broken forth into a multitude;"

⁴¹ And these who are written by name come in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and smite their tents, and the habitations that have been found there, and devote them to destruction unto this day, and dwell in their stead, because pasture for their flock [is] there.

¹⁰ and to Hosah, of the sons of Merari, [are] sons:Shimri the head (though he was not first-born, yet his father sets him for head),

²⁹ and over the herds that are feeding in Sharon [is] Shitrai the Sharonite; and over the herds in the valleys [is] Shaphat son of Adlai;

¹³ And Jeroboam has brought round the ambush to come in from behind them, and they are before Judah, and the ambush [is] behind them. ¹⁴ And Judah turns, and lo, against them [is] the battle, before and behind, and they cry to Yahweh, and the priests are blowing with trumpets, ¹⁵ and the men of Judah shout--and it comes to pass, at the shouting of the men of Judah, that Elohim has smitten Jeroboam, and all Israel, before Abijah and Judah.

¹⁰ and Asa goes out before him, and they set battle in array in the valley of Zephathah at Mareshah. ¹¹ And Asa calls unto Yahweh his Elohim, and said, `Yahweh! it is nothing with You to help, between the mighty and those who have no power; help us, O Yahweh, our Elohim, for on You we have leant, and in Your name we have come against this multitude; O Yahweh, our Elohim you [are]; let him not prevail with You--mortal man!" ¹² And Yahweh smites the Cushim before Asa, and before Judah, and the Cushim flee, ¹³ and Asa and the people who [are] with him pursue them even to Gerar, and there fall of the Cushim, for they have no preserving, because they have been broken before Yahweh, and before His camp; and they bear away very much spoil,

³¹ And it comes to pass at the heads of the charioteers seeing Jehoshaphat, that they have said, `The king of Israel he is,' and they turn round against him to fight, and Jehoshaphat cries out, and Yahweh has helped him, and Elohim entices them from him,

¹² `O our Elohim, do You not execute judgment upon them? for there is no power in us before this great multitude that has come against us, and we know not what we do, but on You [are] our eyes..

¹⁴ And it comes to pass, after the coming in of Amaziah from smiting the Edomites, that he brings in the elohims of the sons of Seir, and establishes them to him for elohims, and before them does bow himself, and to them he makes perfume. ¹⁵ And the anger of Yahweh burns against Amaziah, and He sends unto him a prophet, and he said unto him, `Why have you sought the elohims of the people that have not delivered their people out of your hand?.

¹ A son of twenty and five years [is] Jotham in his reigning, and sixteen years he has reigned in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother [is] Jerushah daughter of Zadok.

²⁰ And Tilgath-Pilneser king of Asshur comes in unto him, and does distress him, and has not strengthened him,

⁸ With him [is] an arm of flesh, and with us [is] Yahweh our Elohim, to help us, and to fight our battles;' and the people are supported by the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.

²⁰ And Hezekiah the king prays, and Isaiah son of Amoz the prophet, concerning this, and they cry to the heavens, ²¹ and Yahweh sends a messenger, and cuts off every mighty one of valor--both leader and head--in the camp of the king of Asshur, and he turns back with shame of face to his land, and enters the house of his elohim, and those coming out of his bowels have caused him to fall there by the sword.

¹¹ and Yahweh brings in against them the heads of the host that the king of Asshur has, and they capture Manasseh among the thickets, and bind him with brazen fetters, and cause him to go to Babylon.

⁵ The patriarchal heads of Judah and Benjamin arose, also the priests and the Levites, with everyone whose spirit the One, Elohim, had roused to go up to rebuild the House of Yahweh Who is in Jerusalem.

¹⁰ So those knowing Your Name shall trust in You, For You do not forsake those seeking after You, O Yahweh.

⁷ These boast in chariots, and those in horses, But as for us, concerning the Name of Yahweh our Elohim, we are ever mindful." ⁸ They, indeed they will bow down and fall, But as for us, we will rise and shall become attested."

⁴ In You our fathers trusted; They trusted, and You delivered them." ⁵ To You they cried out, and they escaped; In You they trusted, and they were not put to shame."

⁶⁸ Yet He chose the tribe of Judah, Mount Zion, which He loves;" ⁶⁹ And He built His Sanctuary like the heights of heaven, Like the earth that He founded for the eon." ⁷⁰ He chose David, His servant, And He took him from the folds of the flock;" ⁷¹ From following the ewes, He brought him To shepherd Jacob, His people, And Israel, His allotment."

⁶ The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites, Moab and the Hagarites,

¹¹ For Sun and Shield is Yahweh Elohim; Grace and glory does Yahweh bestow; He does not withhold good from those walking with integrity. ¹² O Yahweh of hosts, Happy is the human trusting in You. {Permanent{ "

³⁴ They did not exterminate the peoples As Yahweh had commanded them. ³⁵ They mixed with the nations, And they learned their customs." ³⁶ They served their fetishes, And these came to be a trap for them." ³⁷ They sacrificed their sons And their daughters to demons; ³⁸ So they shed innocent blood, The blood of their sons and their daughters, Whom they sacrificed to the fetishes of Canaan, And the land was polluted with bloodshed." ³⁹ Thus they defiled themselves by their deeds, And they prostituted themselves by their actions."

⁸ Mine is Gilead; Mine is Manasseh, And Ephraim is the stronghold of My head; Judah is My statute-maker;"

³ It is like the night mist of Hermon, Which is descending upon the mountain ranges of Zion, For there Yahweh has determined the blessing to be, Life for the eon."

⁵ Happy is he who has the El of Jacob as his Help; His hopefulness is set on Yahweh his Elohim, ⁶ Maker of the heavens and earth, The sea and all that is in them, The Guardian of truth for the eons;"

¹ I am a narcissus of the Sharon, An anemone of the vales."

⁸ With me from Lebanon, O bride, Come with me from Lebanon; Regard the scene from the summit of Amana, From the summit of Shenir and Hermon, From the habitations of lions, From the mountain ranges of leopards."

⁵ Woe, Assyria! Club of My anger! And a rod! He, in their hand, is My menace!" ⁶ Among a nation polluted will I send him. And against a people, object of My rage, will I instruct him. To loot loot and to plunder plunder, and to place them for tramping, as the clay of the streets."

² On a mountain ridge lift up a banner! Raise high the voice to them! Do not fear! Wave a hand! And they shall enter the portals of the patrons. ³ I, I instruct My hallowed. And I call them. Moreover, I call My masters, for My anger, even My joyous and My proud." ⁴ The sound of a throng in the mountains, like many people! The sound of tumult of kingdoms, of nations being gathered! Yahweh of hosts is Musterer of the battle host" ⁵ coming from a land afar, from the end of the heavens, Yahweh and the instruments of His menace, to harm the entire earth."

² It ascends the Bith and Dibon, the fane heights, for lamentation. On Nebo and on Medeba is Moab howling. On all their heads is baldness, and every beard is hacked."

² Forsaken are the cities in the future. For droves shall they become. And they recline, and there is no trembling."

² It will bud, yea bud and exult, indeed, with exultation and jubilation. And the glory of Lebanon will be given to it, the honor of Carmel and Sharon. And My people shall see the glory of Yahweh, and the honor of our Elohim."

¹² Have the elohim of the nations rescued them, those who my forefathers ruined, Gozan and Haran and Rezeph and the sons of Eden who were in Thelassar, the land of Teman?

⁷ Blessed [is] the man who trusts in Yahweh, And whose confidence has been Yahweh." ⁸ And has been as a tree planted by waters, And by a rivulet he sends forth his roots, And he does not see when heat comes, And his leaf has been green, And in a year of dearth he is not sorrowful, Nor does he cease from making fruit."

⁵ Lo, days are coming--an affirmation of Yahweh, And I have raised to David a righteous shoot, And a king has reigned and acted wisely, And done judgment and righteousness in the earth." ⁶ In his days is Judah saved, and Israel dwells confidently, And this his name that Yahweh proclaims him, `Our Righteousness.'"

⁹ Therefore, lo, I am opening the shoulder of Moab--From the cities--from his cities--from his frontier, The beauty of the land, Beth-Jeshimoth, Baal-Meon, and Kiriathaim,

² The start of the word of Yahweh by Hosea:And Yahweh is saying to Hosea, Go, take to you a wife of prostitutions and children of prostitutions, for the land is verily committing prostitution rather than following Yahweh."

¹ You must not rejoice, Israel, with exultation as the peoples, for you commit prostitution departing from your Elohim. You love a fee on all the threshing sites for grain;"

² And you, Bethlehem Ephratah, inferior to be among the mentors of Judah, from you shall One fare forth for Me to become the Ruler in Israel; yet His farings forth are from aforetime, from days eonian."

⁷ Yahweh is good for a stronghold in the day of distress, and He is knowing those taking refuge in Him."

⁶ 'And you, Bethlehem, land of Judah,
Are you in any respect least among the mentors of Judah?
For out of you shall come forth the Ruler
Who shall shepherd My people Israel.'"

²⁹ that, whom He foreknew, He designates beforehand, also, to be conformed to the image of His Son, for Him to be Firstborn among many brethren."

³¹ What then, shall we declare to these things? If God is for us, who is against us?

¹ Absolutely, it is heard that there is prostitution among you, and such prostitution (which is not even named among the nations), so that someone has his father's wife."

¹² that we should be for the laud of His glory, who are pre-expectant in the Christ."

¹⁵ Who is the Image of the invisible God, Firstborn of every creature,

¹⁴ For it is taken for granted that our Lord has risen out of Judah, to which tribe Moses speaks nothing concerning priests,

⁵ And one of the elders is saying to me, "Do not lament! Lo! He conquers! The Lion out of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, is to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals!"

⁵ And on her forehead is written a name: Secret Babylon the Great the mother of the prostitutes and the abominations of the earth.

¹³ including also cinnamon, and ginger, and incenses, and attar, and frankincense; and wine, and oil, and flour, and grain; and beasts, and sheep, and made up of horses, and of coaches, and of bodies, including also human souls."
