¹ And they sit still three years, there is no war between Aram and Israel, ² and it comes to pass in the third year, that Jehoshaphat king of Judah comes down unto the king of Israel, ³ and the king of Israel said unto his servants, `Have you not known that ours [is] Ramoth-Gilead? and we are keeping silent from taking it out of the hand of the king of Aram!. <sup>4</sup> And he said unto Jehoshaphat, `Do you go with me to battle [to] Ramoth-Gilead?' and Jehoshaphat said unto the king of Israel, `As I am, so you; as my people, so your people; as my horses, so your horses.. <sup>5</sup> And Jehoshaphat said unto the king of Israel, `Seek, I pray you, to-day, the word of Yahweh;. ⁶ and the king of Israel gathers the prophets, about four hundred men, and said unto them, `Do I go against Ramoth-Gilead to battle, or do I forbear?' and they say, `Go up, and the Lord does give [it] into the hand of the king.. ⁷ And Jehoshaphat said, `Is there not here a prophet of Yahweh besides, and we seek by him?. <sup>8</sup> And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, `Yet--one man to seek Yahweh by him, and I have hated him, for he does not prophesy concerning me good, but evil--Micaiah son of Imlah;' and Jehoshaphat said, `Let not the king say so.. <sup>9</sup> And the king of Israel calls unto a certain eunuch, and said, `Hasten Micaiah son of Imlah.. ¹⁰ And the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat king of Judah are sitting, each on his throne, clothed with garments, in a threshing-floor, at the opening of the gate of Samaria, and all the prophets are prophesying before them. ¹¹ And Zedekiah son of Chenaanah makes for himself horns of iron, and said, `Thus said Yahweh, By these you do push the Arameans till they are consumed;. <sup>12</sup> and all the prophets are prophesying so, saying, `Go up to Ramoth-Gilead, and prosper, and Yahweh has given [it] into the hand of the king.. ¹³ And the messenger who has gone to call Micaiah has spoken unto him, saying, `Lo, I pray you, the words of the prophets, with one mouth, [are] good towards the king; let it be, I pray you, your word as the word of one of them--and you have spoken good.. <sup>14</sup> And Micaiah said, `Yahweh lives; surely that which Yahweh said unto me--it I speak.. ¹⁵ And he comes in unto the king, and the king said unto him, `Micaiah, do we go unto Ramoth-Gilead, to battle, or do we forbear?' and he said unto him, `Go up, and prosper, and Yahweh has given [it] into the hand of the king.. ¹⁶ And the king said unto him, `How many times am I adjuring you that you speak nothing unto me but truth in the name of Yahweh?. <sup>17</sup> And he said, `I have seen all Israel scattered on the hills as sheep that have no shepherd, and Yahweh said, These have no master; they turn back each to his house in peace.. ¹⁸ And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, `Have I not said unto you, He does not prophesy of me good, but evil?. <sup>19</sup> And he said, `Therefore, hear a word of Yahweh; I have seen Yahweh sitting on His throne, and all the host of the heavens standing by Him, on His right and on His left;" ²⁰ and Yahweh said, Who does entice Ahab, and he does go up and fall in Ramoth-Gilead? and this one said thus, and that one is saying thus. ²¹ `And the spirit goes out, and stands before Yahweh, and said, I--I do entice him; and Yahweh said unto him, By what? <sup>22</sup> and he said, I go out, and have been a spirit of falsehood in the mouth of all his prophets; and He said, You do entice, and also you are able; go out and do so. <sup>23</sup> And now, lo, Yahweh has put a spirit of falsehood in the mouth of all these your prophets, and Yahweh has spoken concerning you--evil.. <sup>24</sup> And Zedekiah son of Chenaanah draws nigh, and smites Micaiah on the cheek, and said, `Where [is] this--he has passed over--the Spirit of Yahweh--from me to speak with you?. ²⁵ And Micaiah said, `Lo, you are seeing on that day, when you go in to the innermost chamber to be hidden.. <sup>26</sup> And the king of Israel said, `Take Micaiah, and turn him back unto Amon head of the city, and unto Joash son of the king, ²⁷ and you have said, Thus said the king, Place you this one in the house of restraint, and cause him to eat bread of oppression, and water of oppression, till my coming in peace.. ²⁸ And Micaiah said, `If you at all return in peace--Yahweh has not spoken by me;' and he said, `Hear, O peoples, all of them.. ²⁹ And the king of Israel goes up, and Jehoshaphat king of Judah, to Ramoth-Gilead. ³⁰ And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat to disguise himself, and to go into battle, `And you, put on your garments.' And the king of Israel disguises himself, and goes into battle. <sup>31</sup> And the king of Aram commanded the heads of the charioteers whom he has--thirty and two--saying, `You do not fight with small or with great, but with the king of Israel by himself.. ³² And it comes to pass, at the heads of the charioteers seeing Jehoshaphat, that they said, `He [is] only the king of Israel;' and they turn aside to him to fight, and Jehoshaphat cries out, <sup>33</sup> and it comes to pass, at the heads of the charioteers seeing that he [is] not the king of Israel, that they turn back from after him. <sup>34</sup> And a man has drawn with a bow, in his simplicity, and smites the king of Israel between the joinings and the coat of mail, and he said to his charioteer, `Turn your hand, and take me out from the camp, for I have become sick.. ³⁵ And the battle increases on that day, and the king has been caused to stand in the chariot, over-against Aram, and he dies in the evening, and the blood of the wound runs out unto the midst of the chariot, ³⁶ and he causes the cry to pass over through the camp, at the going in of the sun, saying, `Each unto his city, and each unto his land.. <sup>37</sup> And the king dies, and comes into Samaria, and they bury the king in Samaria;" <sup>38</sup> and [one] rinses the chariot by the pool of Samaria, and the dogs lick his blood--when the armor they had washed--according to the word of Yahweh that He spoke. <sup>39</sup> And the rest of the matters of Ahab, and all that he did, and the house of ivory that he built, and all the cities that he built, are they not written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Israel? <sup>40</sup> And Ahab lies with his fathers, and Ahaziah his son reigns in his stead. <sup>41</sup> And Jehoshaphat son of Asa has reigned over Judah in the fourth year of Ahab king of Israel, <sup>42</sup> Jehoshaphat [is] a son of thirty and five years in his reigning, and twenty and five years he has reigned in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother [is] Azubah daughter of Shilhi. <sup>43</sup> And he walks in all the way of Asa his father, he has not turned aside from it, to do that which [is] right in the eyes of Yahweh; only the high places have not turned aside, yet are the people sacrificing and making perfume in high places. <sup>44</sup> And Jehoshaphat makes peace with the king of Israel; <sup>45</sup> and the rest of the matters of Jehoshaphat, and his might that he got, and with which he fought, are they not written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Judah? <sup>46</sup> And the remnant of the whoremongers who were left in the days of Asa his father he took away out of the land; <sup>47</sup> and there is no king in Edom; he set up a king. <sup>48</sup> Jehoshaphat made ships at Tarshish to go to Ophir for gold, and they went not, for the ships were broken in Ezion-Geber. <sup>49</sup> Then said Ahaziah son of Ahab unto Jehoshaphat, `Let my servants go with your servants in the ships;' and Jehoshaphat was not willing. ⁵⁰ And Jehoshaphat lies with his fathers, and is buried with his fathers in the city of David his father, and Jehoram his son reigns in his stead. ⁵¹ Ahaziah son of Ahab has reigned over Israel in Samaria in the seventeenth year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, and reigns over Israel two years, ⁵² and does the evil thing in the eyes of Yahweh, and walks in the way of his father, and in the way of his mother, and in the way of Jeroboam son of Nebat who caused Israel to sin, ⁵³ and serves the Baal, and bows himself to it, and provokes Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, according to all that his father had done.

³⁴ And he said unto him, `The cities that my father took from your father, I give back, and streets you do make for you in Damascus, as my father did in Samaria;' --`and I, with a covenant, send you away;' and he makes with him a covenant, and sends him away.

²⁴ and Asa lies with his fathers, and is buried with his fathers in the city of David his father, and Jehoshaphat his son reigns in his stead.

⁴¹ And Jehoshaphat son of Asa has reigned over Judah in the fourth year of Ahab king of Israel,

⁴⁴ And Jehoshaphat makes peace with the king of Israel;

¹⁸ And he walks in the way of the kings of Israel, as did the house of Ahab, for a daughter of Ahab was to him for a wife, and he does the evil thing in the eyes of Yahweh,

¹ And Jehoshaphat has riches and honor in abundance, and joins affinity to Ahab, ² and goes down at the end of [certain] years unto Ahab to Samaria, and Ahab sacrifices for him sheep and oxen in abundance, and for the people who [are] with him, and persuades him to go up unto Ramoth-Gilead. ³ And Ahab king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat king of Judah, `Do you go with me [to] Ramoth-Gilead?' And he said to him, `As I--so you, and as your people--my people, even with you in battle.. ⁴ And Jehoshaphat said unto the king of Israel, `Seek, I pray you, this day, the word of Yahweh.. <sup>5</sup> And the king of Israel gathers the prophets, four hundred men, and said unto them, `Do we go unto Ramoth-Gilead to battle, or do I forbear?' And they say, `Go up, and Elohim does give [it] into the hand of the king.. <sup>6</sup> And Jehoshaphat said, `Is there not here a prophet of Yahweh still, and we seek from him?. ⁷ And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, `Still--one man to seek Yahweh from him, and I--I have hated him, for he is not prophesying concerning me of good, but all his days of evil, he [is] Micaiah son of Imlah;' and Jehoshaphat said, `Let not the king say so.. ⁸ And the king of Israel calls unto a certain officer, and said, `Hasten Micaiah son of Imlah.. <sup>9</sup> And the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat king of Judah are sitting, each on his throne, clothed with garments, and they are sitting in a threshing-floor at the opening of the gate of Samaria, and all the prophets are prophesying before them. <sup>10</sup> And Zedekiah son of Chenaanah makes for himself horns of iron, and said, `Thus said Yahweh, ¹¹ With these you do push Aram till you have consumed them.' And he said, `Go you up, and prosper, and they are given into your hand.. <sup>15</sup> And the king said unto him, `How many times am I adjuring you, that you speak unto me only truth in the name of Yahweh?. ¹⁶ And he said, `I have seen all Israel scattered on the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd, and Yahweh said, There are no masters to these, they turn back each to his house in peace.. <sup>17</sup> And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, `Did I not say unto you, He does not prophesy concerning me good, but rather of evil?. ¹⁸ And he said, `Therefore, hear you a word of Yahweh:I have seen Yahweh sitting on His throne, and all the host of the heavens standing on His right and His left;" <sup>19</sup> and Yahweh said, Who does entice Ahab king of Israel, and he does go up and fall in Ramoth-Gilead? And this speaker said thus, and that speaker thus. <sup>20</sup> And go out does the spirit, and stand before Yahweh, and said, I do entice him; and Yahweh said unto him, With what? <sup>21</sup> and he said, I go out, and have become a spirit of falsehood in the mouth of all his prophets. And He said, You do entice, and also, you are able; go out and do so. <sup>22</sup> And, now, lo, Yahweh has put a spirit of falsehood in the mouth of these your prophets, and Yahweh has spoken concerning you--evil.. <sup>23</sup> And Zedekiah son of Chenaanah comes nigh, and smites Micaiah on the cheek, and said, `Where [is] this--the way the Spirit of Yahweh passed over from me to speak with you?. ²⁴ And Micaiah said, `Lo, you do see in that day, that you do enter into the innermost chamber to be hidden.. <sup>25</sup> And the king of Israel said, `Take you Micaiah, and turn him back unto Amon head of the city, and unto Joash son of the king, ²⁶ and you have said, Thus said the king, Put you this [one] in the house of restraint, and cause him to eat bread of oppression, and water of oppression, till my return in peace.. ²⁷ And Micaiah said, `If you do certainly return in peace, Yahweh has not spoken by me;' and he said, `Hear you, O peoples, all of them!.

⁴⁰ For even as Jonah was in the bowel of the sea monster three days and three nights, thus will the Son of Mankind be in the heart of the earth three days and three nights."

²¹ Thenceforth begins Jesus to show His disciples that He must be coming away into Jerusalem and to be suffering much from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and to be killed, and the third day to be roused."

⁴³ Bezer in the wilderness in the tableland country for the Reubenite, and Ramoth in Gilead for the Gadite, and Golan in Bashan for the Manassite.

⁸ and beyond the Jordan, [at] Jericho eastward, they have given Bezer in the wilderness, in the plain, out of the tribe of Reuben, and Ramoth in Gilead out of the tribe of Gad, and Golan in Bashan out of the tribe of Manasseh.

³⁸ And out of the tribe of Gad, the city of refuge [for] the man-slayer, Ramoth in Gilead and its suburbs, and Mahanaim and its suburbs,

² [it is told] to the Gazathites, saying, `Samson has come in hither;' and they go round and lay wait for him all the night at the gate of the city, and keep themselves silent all the night, saying, `Till the light of the morning--then we have slain him..

¹⁰ and Absalom whom we anointed over us [is] dead in battle, and now, why are you silent--to bring back the king?.

¹³ Ben-Geber, in Ramoth-Gilead, has the small towns of Jair son of Manasseh, which [are] in Gilead; he has a portion of Argob that [is] in Bashan, sixty great cities [with] wall and brazen bar.

⁷ and goes and sends unto Jehoshaphat king of Judah, saying, `The king of Moab has transgressed against me; do you go with me unto Moab for battle?' and he said, `I go up, as I, so you; as my people, so your people; as my horses, so your horses.

³ And Ahab king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat king of Judah, `Do you go with me [to] Ramoth-Gilead?' And he said to him, `As I--so you, and as your people--my people, even with you in battle..

² and go out unto his presence does Jehu son of Hanani, the seer, and said unto king Jehoshaphat, `To give help to the wicked, and to those hating Yahweh, do you love? and for this against you [is] wrath from before Yahweh,

²¹ Do I not hate those hating You, O Yahweh, And with those rising against You, am I not disgusted? ²² With complete hatred I hate them; They have become enemies to me.

²⁰ He who walks with the wise becomes wise, Yet he who associates with the stupid is imperiled."

³³ Be not deceived: evil conversations are corrupting kind characters.

¹⁶ Now what concurrence has a temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God, according as God said, that I will be making My home and will be walking in them, and I will be their God, and they shall be My people." ¹⁷ Wherefore, Come out of their midst and be severed, the Lord is saying. And touch not the unclean, and I will admit you,

¹¹ And be not joint participants in the unfruitful acts of darkness, yet rather be exposing them also,

¹¹ For he who is saying to him to be rejoicing is participating in his wicked acts.

²⁶ '"And to the one who is conquering and keeping My acts until the consummation, to him will I be giving authority over the nations;"

²¹ And before Eleazar the priest shall he stand, and he will ask for him the judgment of the Urim before Yahweh. At his bidding shall they go forth and at his bidding they shall enter, he and all the sons of Israel with him, the whole congregation.

¹⁴ And the men take of their provision, and the mouth of Yahweh have not asked;"

¹ And it comes to pass, after the death of Joshua, that the sons of Israel ask at Yahweh, saying, `Who does go up for us unto the Canaanite, at the commencement, to fight against it?.

¹⁸ And they rise and go up to Beth-El, and ask of Elohim, and the sons of Israel say, `Who does go up for us at the commencement to battle with the sons of Benjamin?' and Yahweh said, `Judah--at the commencement..

²³ And the sons of Israel go up and weep before Yahweh till the evening, and ask of Yahweh, saying, `Do I add to draw nigh to battle with the sons of Benjamin, my brother?' And Yahweh said, `Go up against him..

²⁹ And Israel sets liers in wait against Gibeah, round about,

¹⁸ And Saul said to Ahiah, `Bring nigh the ark of Elohim;' for the ark of Elohim has been on that day with the sons of Israel.

² And David asks at Yahweh, saying, `Do I go? --and have I smitten among these Philistines?' And Yahweh said unto David, `Go, and you have smitten among the Philistines, and saved Keilah..

⁴ And David adds again to ask at Yahweh, and Yahweh answers him, and said, `Rise, go down to Keilah, for I am giving the Philistines into your hand..

⁹ And David knows that against him Saul is devising the evil, and said unto Abiathar the priest, `Bring nigh the ephod.. <sup>10</sup> And David said, `Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, Your servant has certainly heard that Saul is seeking to come in unto Keilah, to destroy the city on mine account. ¹¹ Do the possessors of Keilah shut me up into his hand? does Saul come down as Your servant has heard? Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, declare, I pray You, to Your servant.' And Yahweh said, `He does come down.. <sup>12</sup> And David said, `Do the possessors of Keilah shut me up, and my men, into the hand of Saul?' And Yahweh said, `They shut [you] up..

⁸ and David asks at Yahweh, saying, `I pursue after this troop--do I overtake it?' And He said to him, `Pursue, for you do certainly overtake, and do certainly deliver..

³ And a messenger of Yahweh has spoken unto Elijah the Tishbite, `Rise, go up to meet the messengers of the king of Samaria, and speak unto them, Is it because there is not an Elohim in Israel--you are going to inquire of Baal Zebub elohim of Ekron?

¹¹ And Jehoshaphat said, `Is there not here a prophet of Yahweh, and we seek Yahweh by him?' And one of the servants of the king of Israel answers and said, `Here [is] Elisha son of Shaphat, who poured water on the hands of Elijah..

¹³ And Saul dies because of his trespass that he trespassed against Yahweh, against the word of Yahweh that he kept not, and also for asking at a familiar spirit--to inquire, -.

⁴ And Jehoshaphat said unto the king of Israel, `Seek, I pray you, this day, the word of Yahweh.. <sup>5</sup> And the king of Israel gathers the prophets, four hundred men, and said unto them, `Do we go unto Ramoth-Gilead to battle, or do I forbear?' And they say, `Go up, and Elohim does give [it] into the hand of the king..

⁵ Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, And do not lean to your own understanding." ⁶ In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He Himself shall straighten your paths."

² `Inquire, we pray you, for us at Yahweh, for Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon has fought against us; perhaps Yahweh does deal with us according to all His wonders, and does cause him to go up from off us.'"

² and they say unto Jeremiah the prophet, `Let, we pray you, our supplication fall before you, and pray for us unto Yahweh your Elohim, for all this remnant; for we have been left a few out of many, as your eyes do see us;" <sup>3</sup> and Yahweh your Elohim does declare to us the way in which we walk, and the thing that we do.'" <sup>4</sup> And Jeremiah the prophet said unto them, `I have heard:lo, I am praying unto Yahweh your Elohim according to your words, and it has come to pass, the whole word that Yahweh answers you, I declare to you--I do not withhold from you a word.'" ⁵ And they have said to Jeremiah, `Yahweh is against us for a witness true and faithful, if--according to all the word with which Yahweh your Elohim does send you unto us--we do not so." ⁶ Whether good or evil, to the voice of Yahweh our Elohim, to whom we are sending you, we do hearken; because it is good for us when we hearken to the voice of Yahweh our Elohim.'"

³ `Son of man, these men have caused their idols to go up on their heart, and the stumbling-block of their iniquity they have put over-against their faces; am I inquired of at all by them?

¹ And it comes to pass, in the seventh year, in the fifth [month], in the tenth of the month, come in have certain of the elders of Israel to seek Yahweh, and they sit before me;" ² and there is a word of Yahweh unto me, saying, ³ `Son of man, speak with the elders of Israel, and you have said unto them, Thus said the Lord Yahweh:To seek Me are you coming in? I live--I am not sought by you--an affirmation of the Lord Yahweh."

¹⁹ and now, send, gather unto me all Israel, unto the mount of Carmel, and the prophets of Baal four hundred and fifty, and the prophets of the shrine, four hundred--eating at the table of Jezebel..

¹⁵ And he comes in unto the king, and the king said unto him, `Micaiah, do we go unto Ramoth-Gilead, to battle, or do we forbear?' and he said unto him, `Go up, and prosper, and Yahweh has given [it] into the hand of the king..

²² and he said, I go out, and have been a spirit of falsehood in the mouth of all his prophets; and He said, You do entice, and also you are able; go out and do so. ²³ And now, lo, Yahweh has put a spirit of falsehood in the mouth of all these your prophets, and Yahweh has spoken concerning you--evil..

¹⁴ And he comes in unto the king, and the king said unto him, `Micaiah, do we go unto Ramoth-Gilead to battle, or do I forbear?' And he said, `Go you up, and prosper, and they are given into your hand..

³¹ The prophets have prophesied falsely, And the priests bear rule by their means, And My people have loved [it] so, And what do they at its latter end?

¹⁰ Therefore, I give their wives to others, Their fields to dispossessors, For from the least even unto the greatest, Every one is gaining dishonest gain, From prophet even unto priest, every one is dealing falsely." ¹¹ And they heal the breach of the daughter of my people slightly, Saying, Peace, peace! and there is no peace."

¹³ And I say, `Ah, Lord Yahweh, Lo, the prophets are saying to them:You do not see a sword, yea, famine is not to you, For true peace I give to you in this place.'" ¹⁴ And Yahweh said unto me:Falsehood the prophets are prophesying in My name, I did not send them, nor command them, Nor have I spoken unto them:A false vision, and divination, and vanity, And the deceit of their own heart, they are prophesying to you."

¹⁴ And in prophets of Jerusalem I have seen a horrible thing, Committing adultery, and walking falsely, Yea, they strengthened the hands of evil doers, So that they have not turned back Each from his wickedness, They have been to me--all of them--as Sodom, And its inhabitants as Gomorrah." ¹⁵ Therefore, thus said Yahweh of Hosts, concerning the prophets:Lo, I am causing them to eat wormwood, And have caused them to drink water of gall, For, from prophets of Jerusalem Has profanity gone forth to all the land." ¹⁶ Thus said Yahweh of Hosts:You do not hearken unto the words Of the prophets who are prophesying to you, They are making you vain things, A vision of their own heart they speak, Not from the mouth of Yahweh." ¹⁷ Saying diligently to those despising The word of Yahweh:Peace is for you, And [to] every one walking in the stubbornness of his heart they have said:Evil does not come in unto you."

¹ And it comes to pass, in that year, in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the fourth year, in the fifth month, spoken unto me has Hananiah son of Azur the prophet, who [is] of Gibeon, in the house of Yahweh, before the eyes of the priests, and all the people, saying, ² `Thus spoke Yahweh of Hosts, Elohim of Israel, saying, I have broken the yoke of the king of Babylon;" <sup>3</sup> Within two years of days I am bringing back unto this place all the vessels of the house of Yahweh that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon has taken from this place, and does carry to Babylon, <sup>4</sup> And Jeconiah son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, and all the removed of Judah, who are entering Babylon, I am bringing back unto this place--an affirmation of Yahweh; for I do break the yoke of the king of Babylon.'" <sup>5</sup> And Jeremiah the prophet said unto Hananiah the prophet, before the eyes of the priests, and before the eyes of all the people who are standing in the house of Yahweh, <sup>6</sup> Yea, Jeremiah the prophet said, `Amen! so may Yahweh do; Yahweh establish your words that you have prophesied, to bring back the vessels of the house of Yahweh and all the removal from Babylon, unto this place." ⁷ `Only, hear, I pray you, this word that I am speaking in your ears, and in the ears of all the people." ⁸ The prophets who have been before me, and before you, from of old, even they prophesy concerning many lands, and concerning great kingdoms, of battle, and of evil, and of pestilence." ⁹ The prophet who does prophesy of peace--by the coming in of the word of the prophet, known is the prophet that Yahweh has truly sent him.'"

⁷ A vain vision have you not seen, And a lying divination spoken, When you say:An affirmation of Yahweh, And I have not spoken? ⁸ Therefore, thus said the Lord Yahweh:Because you have spoken vanity, and seen a lie, Therefore, lo, I [am] against you, An affirmation of the Lord Yahweh." ⁹ And My hand has been on the prophets, Who are seeing vanity, and who are divining a lie, In the assembly of My people they are not, And in the writing of the house of Israel they are not written, And unto the ground of Israel they come not, And you have known that I [am] the Lord Yahweh." ¹⁰ Because, even because, they did cause My people to err, Saying, Peace! and there is no peace, And that one is building a wall, And lo, they are daubing it with chalk." ¹¹ Say to those daubing with chalk--It falls, There has been an overflowing shower, And you, O hailstones, do fall, And a tempestuous wind does rend, ¹² And lo, fallen has the wall! Does not one say unto you, Where [is] the daubing that you daubed? ¹³ Therefore, thus said the Lord Yahweh:I have rent with a tempestuous wind in My fury, And an overflowing shower is in Mine anger, And hailstones in My fury--to consume." ¹⁴ And I have broken down the wall that you daubed with chalk, And have caused it to come unto the earth, And revealed has been its foundation, And it has fallen, And you have been consumed in its midst, And you have known that I [am] Yahweh." ¹⁵ And I have completed My wrath on the wall, And on those daubing it with chalk, And I say to you:The wall is not, And those daubing it are not;" ¹⁶ The prophets of Israel who are prophesying concerning Jerusalem, And who are seeing for her a vision of peace, And there is no peace, An affirmation of the Lord Yahweh."

²² Because of paining the heart of the righteous with falsehood, And I have not pained it, And strengthening the hands of the wicked, So as not to turn back from his evil way, To keep him alive,

¹⁵ Take heed of those false prophets who are coming to you in the apparel of sheep, yet inside they are rapacious wolves."

³ For the era will be when they will not tolerate sound teaching, but, their hearing being tickled, they will heap up for themselves teachers in accord with their own desires, "

¹ Yet there came to be false prophets also among the people, as among you also there will be false teachers who will be smuggling in destructive sects, even disowning the Owner Who buys them, bringing on themselves swift destruction." ² And many will be following out their wantonness, because of whom the glory of the truth will be calumniated, ³ and in greed, with suave words, they will traffic in you, whose judgment of old is not idling, and their destruction is not nodding."

²⁰ And the wild beast is arrested, and with it the false prophet who does the signs in its sight, by which he deceives those getting the emblem of the wild beast, and those worshiping its image. Living, the two were cast into the lake of fire burning with sulphur."

¹¹ And Jehoshaphat said, `Is there not here a prophet of Yahweh, and we seek Yahweh by him?' And one of the servants of the king of Israel answers and said, `Here [is] Elisha son of Shaphat, who poured water on the hands of Elijah.. ¹² And Jehoshaphat said, `The word of Yahweh is with him;' and go down unto him do the king of Israel, and Jehoshaphat, and the king of Edom. <sup>13</sup> And Elisha said unto the king of Israel, `What--to me and to you? go unto the prophets of your father, and unto the prophets of your mother;' and the king of Israel said to him, `Nay, for Yahweh has called for these three kings to give them into the hand of Moab..

⁶ And Jehoshaphat said, `Is there not here a prophet of Yahweh still, and we seek from him?. <sup>7</sup> And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, `Still--one man to seek Yahweh from him, and I--I have hated him, for he is not prophesying concerning me of good, but all his days of evil, he [is] Micaiah son of Imlah;' and Jehoshaphat said, `Let not the king say so..

⁸ And saying to him are his brothers, "Verily reign over us shall you? And should you verily rule among us?And continuing further are they to hate him on account of his dreams, and on account of his words.

⁴ and it comes to pass, in Jezebel's cutting off the prophets of Yahweh, that Obadiah takes a hundred prophets, and hides them, fifty men in a cave, and has sustained them with bread and water-.

¹⁰ And he said, `I have been very zealous for Yahweh, Elohim of Hosts, for the sons of Israel have forsaken Your covenant--Your altars they have thrown down, and Your prophets they have slain by the sword, and I am left, I, by myself, and they seek my life--to take it..

³⁵ And a certain man of the sons of the prophets said unto his neighbor by the word of Yahweh, `Smite me, I pray you;' and the man refuses to smite him, <sup>36</sup> and he said to him, `Because that you have not hearkened to the voice of Yahweh, lo, you are going from me, and the lion has smitten you;' and he goes from him, and the lion finds him, and smites him. ³⁷ And he finds another man, and said, `Smite me, I pray you;' and the man smites him, smiting and wounding, <sup>38</sup> and the prophet goes and stands for the king on the way, and disguises himself with ashes on his eyes. <sup>39</sup> And it comes to pass--the king is passing by--that he has cried unto the king, and said, `Your servant went out into the midst of the battle, and lo, a man has turned aside and brings in unto me a man, and said, Keep this man; if he be at all missing, then has your life been for his life, or a talent of silver you do weigh out;" ⁴⁰ and it comes to pass, your servant is working hither and thither, and he is not!' and the king of Israel said unto him, Right [is] your judgment; you have determined [it].. ⁴¹ And he hastes and turns aside the ashes from off his eyes, and the king of Israel discerns him, that he [is] of the prophets, ⁴² and he said unto him, `Thus said Yahweh, Because you have sent away the man I devoted, out of [your] hand, even your life has been for his life, and your people for his people;. ⁴³ and the king of Israel goes unto his house, sulky and wroth, and comes in to Samaria.

²⁰ And Ahab said unto Elijah, `Have you found me, O mine enemy?' and he said, `I have found--because of your selling yourself to do the evil thing in the eyes of Yahweh;"

²⁷ And it comes to pass, at Ahab's hearing these words, that he rends his garments, and puts sackcloth on his flesh, and fasts, and lies in sackcloth, and goes gently. ²⁸ And the word of Yahweh is unto Elijah the Tishbite, saying, ²⁹ `Have you seen that Ahab has been humbled before Me? because that he has been humbled before Me, I bring not in the evil in his days; in the days of his son I bring in the evil on his house..

¹³ And the messenger who has gone to call Micaiah has spoken unto him, saying, `Lo, I pray you, the words of the prophets, with one mouth, [are] good towards the king; let it be, I pray you, your word as the word of one of them--and you have spoken good..

²⁷ and you have said, Thus said the king, Place you this one in the house of restraint, and cause him to eat bread of oppression, and water of oppression, till my coming in peace..

²² And it comes to pass, at Jehoram's seeing Jehu, that he said, `Is there peace, Jehu?' and he said, `What [is] the peace, while the whoredoms of Jezebel your mother, and her witchcrafts, are many?.

¹⁶ and they are mocking at the messengers of Elohim, and despising His words, and acting deceitfully with His prophets, till the going up of the fury of Yahweh against His people--till there is no healing.

²¹ Evil shall put the wicked to death, And those hating the righteous one shall be found guilty."

¹² And you say, How I have hated discipline, And my heart has spurned correction!" ¹³ I have not hearkened to the voice of those directing my instruction, And to those teaching me I have not stretched out my ear;" ¹⁴ Soon I came to be in entire peril In the midst of the assembly and the congregation.

⁸ Do not reprove a mocker lest he should hate you; Reprove a wise man, and he shall love you."

¹² A mocker does not love any correction of himself; He does not go to the wise.

¹¹ Alack to the wicked one; evil is his portion, for the requital of his hands is returning to him."

¹⁰ who say to the seers, "You shall not direct us!And to the vision seers, "You shall not perceive correctives for us! Speak to us slick things, perceive trifles."

⁷ Thus says my Lord Yahweh, your Redeemer, the Elohim of Israel, his Holy One, to the despised of His soul, to the abhorred of the nation, to the servant of rulers, "Kings shall see him, and they rise, and chiefs shall also worship him, on account of Yahweh, Who is faithful, the Holy One of Israel, and He shall choose you."

¹⁹ Creator of the produce of the lips, welfare, welfare to the far and to the near,says Yahweh, "and I heal him." ²⁰ Yet the wicked are as the disgorging sea, for quiet it cannot be, and disgorging are its waters foulness and mud." ²¹ No peace,says Yahweh, my Elohim, "is there for the wicked."

¹⁸ And they say, Come, And we devise against Jeremiah devices, For law does not perish from the priest, Nor counsel from the wise, Nor the word from the prophet, Come, and we smite him with the tongue, And we do not attend to any of his words."

¹⁰ For I have heard the evil report of many, Fear [is] round about:`Declare, and we declare it,' All mine allies are watching [for] my halting, `Perhaps he is enticed, and we prevail over him, And we take our vengeance out of him.'"

⁴ And the heads say unto the king, `Let, we pray you, this man be put to death, because that he is making feeble the hands of the men of war, who are left in this city, and the hands of all the people, by speaking unto them according to these words, for this man is not seeking for the peace of this people, but for its evil.'"

³ for Baruch son of Neriah is moving you against us, in order to give us up into the hand of the Chaldeans, to put us to death, and to remove us to Babylon.'" ⁴ And Johanan son of Kareah, and all the heads of the forces, and all the people, have not hearkened to the voice of Yahweh, to dwell in the land of Judah;"

¹⁰ They hate the corrector in the gateway, and they are abhorring the one speaking flawlessly."

⁷ Is this said, house of Jacob:Is the spirit of Yahweh shortened if these be His actions? Are not My words doing good with the one going uprightly?

¹¹ Suppose a man, going by a spirit and falsehood, lies, saying:I will stutter to you for wine and for intoxicant; then he becomes the stutterer for this people!"

⁸ And I am suppressing three shepherds in one month. Yet my soul is impatient with them; and, moreover, their soul is nauseated with me."

²² And you shall be hated by all because of My name. Yet he who endures to the consummation, he shall be saved."

¹⁹ Now this is the judging: that the light has come into the world, and men love the darkness rather than the light, for their acts were wicked." ²⁰ For everyone who is committing bad things is hating the light and is not coming to the light, lest his acts may be exposed." ²¹ Now he who is doing the truth is coming to the light that his acts may be made manifest, for they have been wrought in God."

⁷ The world can not be hating you, yet Me it is hating, for I am testifying concerning it that its acts are wicked."

¹⁸ If the world is hating you, know that it has hated Me first before you." ¹⁹ If you were of the world, the world would be fond of its own. Now, seeing that you are not of the world, but I choose you out of the world, therefore the world is hating you."

¹⁴ I have given them Thy word. And the world hates them, for they are not of the world, according as I am not of the world."

¹⁶ So that I have become your enemy by being true to you!

⁷ And whenever they should be finishing their testimony, the wild beast which is ascending out of the submerged chaos will be doing battle with them and will be conquering them and killing them." ⁸ And their corpses will be at the square of the great city which, spiritually, is being called Sodom and Egypt, where their Lord, also, was crucified." ⁹ And those out of the peoples and tribes and languages and nations are observing their corpses three days and a half, and they are not letting their corpses be placed into a tomb." ¹⁰ And those dwelling on the earth are rejoicing over them and are making merry, and will be sending approach presents to one another, seeing that these two prophets torment those dwelling on the earth."

²⁶ And the king of Israel said, `Take Micaiah, and turn him back unto Amon head of the city, and unto Joash son of the king, ²⁷ and you have said, Thus said the king, Place you this one in the house of restraint, and cause him to eat bread of oppression, and water of oppression, till my coming in peace..

³² And he lifts up his face unto the window, and said, `Who [is] with me? --who?' and look out unto him do two [or] three eunuchs;"

⁸ And the king of Israel calls unto a certain officer, and said, `Hasten Micaiah son of Imlah..

⁷ And of your sons, who shall fare forth from you, whom you shall beget, they shall take, and they shall become eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.'"

¹⁸ And at the end of the days the king says to bring them in. Then the chief of the eunuchs is bringing them before Nebuchadnezzar.

²⁹ and it comes to pass, at the passing by of the noon, that they feign themselves prophets till the going up of the present, and there is no voice, and there is none answering, and there is none attending.

⁶ and the king of Israel gathers the prophets, about four hundred men, and said unto them, `Do I go against Ramoth-Gilead to battle, or do I forbear?' and they say, `Go up, and the Lord does give [it] into the hand of the king..

³⁰ And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat to disguise himself, and to go into battle, `And you, put on your garments.' And the king of Israel disguises himself, and goes into battle.

⁹ And the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat king of Judah are sitting, each on his throne, clothed with garments, and they are sitting in a threshing-floor at the opening of the gate of Samaria, and all the prophets are prophesying before them. ¹⁰ And Zedekiah son of Chenaanah makes for himself horns of iron, and said, `Thus said Yahweh, <sup>11</sup> With these you do push Aram till you have consumed them.' And all the prophets are prophesying so, saying, `Go up [to] Ramath-Gilead and prosper, and Yahweh has given [it] into the hand of the king..

¹ It was on the third day that Esther put on royal clothing and took her stand in the inner court of the king's house, over against the king's house, while the king was sitting on his royal throne in the royal house, over against the portal of the house.

⁸ let them bring out royal garment with which the king has clothed himself, and a horse on which the king has ridden, with the royal diadem that has been placed on its head. ⁹ Then may the garment and horse be put at the hand of one of the king's highborn chief officials, and let him clothe the man in whose esteem the king has taken a delight, and parade him on the horse in the city square, while proclaiming before him:Thus is it done to the man in whose esteem the king has taken a delight.

¹⁴ `And you do not hearken unto the words of the prophets who are speaking unto you, saying, You do not serve the king of Babylon, --for falsehood they are prophesying to you." <sup>15</sup> For I have not sent them--an affirmation of Yahweh--and they are prophesying in My name falsely, so as to drive you out, and you have perished, you, and the prophets who are prophesying to you.'" <sup>16</sup> And unto the priests, and unto all this people, I have spoken, saying, `Thus said Yahweh, You do not hearken unto the words of your prophets, who are prophesying to you, saying, Lo, the vessels of the house of Yahweh are brought back from Babylon now in haste, for falsehood they are prophesying to you."

¹ And there is a word of Yahweh unto me, saying, ² `Son of man, prophesy concerning the prophets of Israel who are prophesying, and you have said to those prophesying from their own heart:Hear you a word of Yahweh:" ³ Thus said the Lord Yahweh:Woe unto the prophets who are foolish, Who are going after their own spirit, And they have seen nothing." ⁴ As foxes in the wastes, Your prophets, O Israel, have been." ⁵ You have not gone up into breaches, Nor do you make a fence for the house of Israel, To stand in battle in a day of Yahweh." ⁶ They have seen vanity, and lying divination, Who are saying:An affirmation of Yahweh, And Yahweh has not sent them, And they have hoped to establish a word." ⁷ A vain vision have you not seen, And a lying divination spoken, When you say:An affirmation of Yahweh, And I have not spoken? ⁸ Therefore, thus said the Lord Yahweh:Because you have spoken vanity, and seen a lie, Therefore, lo, I [am] against you, An affirmation of the Lord Yahweh." ⁹ And My hand has been on the prophets, Who are seeing vanity, and who are divining a lie, In the assembly of My people they are not, And in the writing of the house of Israel they are not written, And unto the ground of Israel they come not, And you have known that I [am] the Lord Yahweh."

²⁰ Yet hoard for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor corrosion are causing them to disappear, and where thieves are not tunneling nor stealing;"

⁸ But what do you come out to perceive? A man garbed in soft garment? Lo! those wearing soft garments are in the houses of kings.

²¹ Now on a set day, Herod, dressed in royal attire, being seated on the dais, harangued to them."

²³ On the morrow, then, at Agrippa and Bernice's coming with much pageantry and entering the audience chamber together, besides captains and prominent men of the city, and at Festus' order, Paul was led forth."

¹⁷ as the firstborn of his kine brings honor to him, and his horns are the horns of the wild bull. With them he shall gore the peoples altogether, to the limits of the earth. Those are the myriads of Ephraim, and those are the thousands of Manasseh.

¹⁷ Saying diligently to those despising The word of Yahweh:Peace is for you, And [to] every one walking in the stubbornness of his heart they have said:Evil does not come in unto you."

²⁵ I have heard that which the prophets said, Who prophesy in My name falsehood, saying, `I have dreamed, I have dreamed.'"

³¹ Lo, I [am] against the prophets, An affirmation of Yahweh, Who are making smooth their tongue, And they affirm--an affirmation."

² `Thus said Yahweh unto me, Make to you bands and yokes,

² `Thus spoke Yahweh of Hosts, Elohim of Israel, saying, I have broken the yoke of the king of Babylon;" ³ Within two years of days I am bringing back unto this place all the vessels of the house of Yahweh that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon has taken from this place, and does carry to Babylon,

¹⁰ And Hananiah the prophet takes the yoke from off the neck of Jeremiah the prophet, and breaks it, ¹¹ And Hananiah speaks before the eyes of all the people, saying, `Thus said Yahweh, Thus I break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, within two years of days, from off the neck of all the nations;' and Jeremiah the prophet goes on his way." <sup>12</sup> And there is a word of Yahweh unto Jeremiah after the breaking, by Hananiah the prophet, of the yoke from off the neck of Jeremiah the prophet, saying, <sup>13</sup> `Go, and you have spoken unto Hananiah, saying, Thus said Yahweh, Yokes of wood you have broken, and I have made instead of them yokes of iron;" ¹⁴ For thus said Yahweh of Hosts, Elohim of Israel, A yoke of iron I have put on the neck of all these nations to serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and they have served him, and also the beast of the field I have given to him.'"

²¹ Thus said Yahweh of Hosts, Elohim of Israel, concerning Ahab son of Kolaiah, and concerning Zedekiah son of Maaseiah, who are prophesying to you in My name falsehood:Lo, I am giving them into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and he has smitten them before your eyes,

²⁷ Its princes in its midst [are] as wolves, Tearing prey, to shed blood, to destroy souls, For the sake of gaining dishonest gain." ²⁸ And its prophets have daubed for them with chalk, Seeing a vain thing, and divining for them a lie, Saying, `Thus said the Lord Yahweh:' And Yahweh has not spoken."

¹¹ her heads are judging for a bribe, and her priests are directing for a price, and her prophets are divining for money, and on Yahweh they are leaning, saying:Is not Yahweh within us? Evil shall not come on us."

¹⁸ Then I am lifting my eyes and am seeing, and behold! four horns." ¹⁹ And I am saying to the messenger who is speaking with me, What are these, my lord? And he is saying to me, These are the horns which winnowed Judah, Israel and Jerusalem." ²⁰ Then Yahweh is showing me four artificers. ²¹ And I am saying, What are these coming to do? And He is speaking to me, saying:These are the horns which winnowed Judah to the extent that a man does not lift up his head. Yet these are coming to sharpen them, to throw off the horns of the nations which are lifting up a horn against the land of Judah to winnow it."

¹³ Now some of the wandering Jews also, exorcists, take in hand to name the name of the Lord Jesus over those having wicked spirits, saying, "I am adjuring you by the Jesus Whom Paul is heralding!" ¹⁴ Now there were some seven sons of Sceva, a Jew, a chief priest, doing this." ¹⁵ Yet answering, the wicked spirit said to them, "Jesus, indeed, I know, and in Paul am I versed, yet who are you? ¹⁶ And leaping on them, the man in whom the wicked spirit was, getting the mastery of both, is too strong for them, so that, naked and wounded, they are escaping out of that house."

¹³ For such are false apostles, fraudulent workers, being transfigured into apostles of Christ. " ¹⁴ And no marvel, for Satan himself is being transfigured into a messenger of light. " ¹⁵ It is no great thing, then, if his servants also are being transfigured as dispensers of righteousness - whose consummation shall be according to their acts. "

⁸ Now, by the method by which Jannes and Jambres withstand Moses, thus these also are withstanding the truth, men of a depraved mind, disqualified as to the faith."

³² And it comes to pass, at the heads of the charioteers seeing Jehoshaphat, that they said, `He [is] only the king of Israel;' and they turn aside to him to fight, and Jehoshaphat cries out, <sup>33</sup> and it comes to pass, at the heads of the charioteers seeing that he [is] not the king of Israel, that they turn back from after him. <sup>34</sup> And a man has drawn with a bow, in his simplicity, and smites the king of Israel between the joinings and the coat of mail, and he said to his charioteer, `Turn your hand, and take me out from the camp, for I have become sick.. ³⁵ And the battle increases on that day, and the king has been caused to stand in the chariot, over-against Aram, and he dies in the evening, and the blood of the wound runs out unto the midst of the chariot, ³⁶ and he causes the cry to pass over through the camp, at the going in of the sun, saying, `Each unto his city, and each unto his land..

²² And Josiah has not turned round his face from him, but to fight against him has disguised himself, and has not hearkened unto the words of Necho, from the mouth of Elohim, and comes in to fight in the valley of Megiddo;"

¹¹ He says in his heart, El has forgotten; He has concealed His face; He will not see at all, permanently.

¹ {A Davidic Psalm{ In Yahweh I take refuge; How are you saying to my soul, Soar like a bird to the mountain?

¹ {A Davidic Psalm{ The decadent one says in his heart, There is no Elohim. They have become corrupt and abhorrent with iniquitous deeds. There is no one doing good."

²¹ You do these things, yet I keep silent; You imagined that I should become, yea become like you. I shall reprove you, and I will arrange the charge before your eyes."

¹⁰ who say to the seers, "You shall not direct us!And to the vision seers, "You shall not perceive correctives for us! Speak to us slick things, perceive trifles." ¹¹ Withdraw from the way, turn aside from the path. Eradicate from our face the Holy One of Israel."

³ With their evil they are rejoicing the king, and with their dissimulation, the chiefs."

¹³ Yet at Bethel you shall not continue to prophesy further, for the sanctuary of the king is it, and the house of the kingdom is it." ¹⁴ Yet Amos is answering and saying to Amaziah, I am not a prophet, nor am I a son of a prophet. For I am a herder and a puncturer of sycamore figs." ¹⁵ And Yahweh is taking me from behind the flock, and Yahweh is saying to me, Go, prophesy to My people Israel." ¹⁶ And now, hear the word of Yahweh, You are saying, You shall not prophesy against Israel, nor shall you drop a word against the house of Isaac." ¹⁷ Wherefore, thus says Yahweh, Your wife shall commit prostitution in the city, and your sons and your daughters shall fall by the sword, and your ground shall be apportioned by the line, and you shall die on unclean ground. And Israel shall verily be deported off his ground."

⁶ You must not stutter, is what they are stuttering. They shall not stutter about these matters. It will not turn away confoundings." ⁷ Is this said, house of Jacob:Is the spirit of Yahweh shortened if these be His actions? Are not My words doing good with the one going uprightly?

¹⁴ Now the soulish man is not receiving those things which are of the spirit of God, for they are stupidity to him, and he is not able to know them, seeing that they are spiritually examined." ¹⁵ Now he who is spiritual is, indeed, examining all, yet he is being examined by no one." ¹⁶ For who knew the mind of the Lord? Who will be deducing from Him? Yet we have the mind of Christ.

¹⁸ Yet Balaam answered and said to the servants of Balak:If Balak were giving to me the fullness of his house in silver and gold I could not cross the bidding of Yahweh my Elohim to do what is small or great.

³⁸ And Balaam said to Balak:Behold, I have come to you now. Can I prevail to speak anything freely? The word that Elohim places in my mouth, it shall I speak.

¹³ If Balak were giving to me the fullness of his house in silver and gold, I could not cross the bidding of Yahweh to do what is good or evil out of my own heart. Whatever Yahweh shall speak, it shall I speak.

¹⁰ Yahweh your Elohim lives, if there is a nation and kingdom whither my lord has not sent to seek you; and they said, He is not, then he caused the kingdom and the nation to swear, that it does not find you;"

¹⁵ And Elijah said, `Yahweh of Hosts lives, before whom I have stood, surely to-day I appear unto him..

¹² And the messenger who has gone to call for Micaiah has spoken unto him, saying, `Lo, the words of the prophets--one mouth--[are] good towards the king, and let, I pray you, your word be like one of theirs:and you have spoken good.. <sup>13</sup> And Micaiah said `Yahweh lives, surely that which my Elohim said, it I speak..

²⁸ The prophet with whom [is] a dream, Let him recount the dream, And he with whom [is] My word, Let him truly speak My word. What--to the straw with the corn? An affirmation of Yahweh."

² `Thus said Yahweh, Stand you in the court of the house of Yahweh, and you have spoken unto all [those of] the cities of Judah who are coming in to bow themselves in the house of Yahweh, all the words that I have commanded you to speak unto them, you do not diminish a word." ³ If so be they hearken, and turn back each from his evil way, then I have repented concerning the evil that I am thinking of doing to them, because of the evil of their doings."

⁴ And Jeremiah the prophet said unto them, `I have heard:lo, I am praying unto Yahweh your Elohim according to your words, and it has come to pass, the whole word that Yahweh answers you, I declare to you--I do not withhold from you a word.'"

⁴ And the sons [are] brazen-faced and hard-hearted to whom I am sending you, and you have said unto them:Thus said the Lord Yahweh:" ⁵ and they--whether they hear, or whether they forbear, for a rebellious house they [are] --have known that a prophet has been in their midst." ⁶ `And you, son of man, you are not afraid of them, yea, of their words you are not afraid, for briers and thorns are with you, and near scorpions you are dwelling, of their words you are not afraid, and of their faces you are not affrighted, for they [are] a rebellious house, <sup>7</sup> And you have spoken My words unto them, whether they hear or whether they forbear, for they [are] rebellious." <sup>8</sup> `And you, son of man, hear that which I am speaking unto you:You are not rebellious like the rebellious house, open your mouth, and eat that which I am giving unto you.'"

¹⁷ that there is a word of Yahweh unto me, saying, `Son of man, a watchman I have given you to the house of Israel, and you have heard from My mouth a word, and have warned them from Me." ¹⁸ In My saying to the wicked:You do surely die; and you have not warned him, nor have spoken to warn the wicked from his wicked way, so that he does live; he--the wicked--in his iniquity dies, and his blood from your hand I require." ¹⁹ And you, because you have warned the wicked, and he has not turned back from his wickedness, and from his wicked way, he in his iniquity dies, and you your soul have delivered."

²⁶ Wherefore I am attesting to you in this very day that I am clear from the blood of all, ²⁷ for under no circumstances do I shrink from informing you of the entire counsel of God.

¹⁷ For we are not as the majority, who are peddling the word of God, but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God in Christ, are we speaking."

² But we spurn the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness, nor yet adulterating the word of God, but, by manifestation of the truth, commending ourselves to every man's conscience in God's sight."

¹⁰ For, at present, am I persuading men or God? Or am I seeking to please men? If I still pleased men, I were not a slave of Christ."

¹⁴ Go and cry unto the elohims on which you have fixed; they--they save you in the time of your adversity.'

²⁷ And it comes to pass, at noon, that Elijah plays on them, and said, `Call with a loud voice, for he [is] an elohim, for he is meditating, or pursuing, or on a journey; it may be he is asleep, an does awake..

¹³ And Elisha said unto the king of Israel, `What--to me and to you? go unto the prophets of your father, and unto the prophets of your mother;' and the king of Israel said to him, `Nay, for Yahweh has called for these three kings to give them into the hand of Moab..

⁹ Rejoice, choice youth, in your childhood, And let your heart be well in the days of your prime; Walk in the ways of your heart and by the sight of your eyes, Yet know that for all these the One, Elohim, shall bring you into judgment."

⁴⁵ Again, then, He is coming to the disciples and is saying to them, "Are you drowsing furthermore and resting? For lo! near is the hour, and the Son of Mankind is being given up into the hands of sinners-"

²⁶ And Joshua adjures [them] at that time, saying, `Cursed [is] the man before Yahweh who raises up and has built this city, [even] Jericho; in his first-born he does lay its foundation, and in his youngest he does set up its doors;.

²⁴ And the men of Israel have been distressed on that day, and Saul adjures the people, saying, `Cursed [is] the man who eats food till the evening, and I have been avenged of mine enemies;' and none of the people has tasted food.

¹⁵ And the king said unto him, `How many times am I adjuring you, that you speak unto me only truth in the name of Yahweh?.

¹⁶ And they are dispatching to Him their disciples, with the Herodians, saying, "Teacher, we are aware that you are true, and are teaching the way of God in truth, and you are not caring concerning anyone, for you are not looking at the face of men." ¹⁷ Tell us, then, what you are supposing. Is it allowed to give poll tax to Caesar, or not?

⁶³ Yet Jesus was silent. And, answering, the chief priest said to Him, "I exorcise you by the living God that you may tell us if you are the Christ, the Son of God."

⁷ and, crying with a loud voice, he is saying, "What is it to me and to Thee, Jesus, Son of God Most High! I am adjuring Thee by God: Not me shouldst Thou be tormenting!"

¹³ Now some of the wandering Jews also, exorcists, take in hand to name the name of the Lord Jesus over those having wicked spirits, saying, "I am adjuring you by the Jesus Whom Paul is heralding!"

¹⁷ who may go forth before them and enter before them, and who may bring them forth and bring them in so that the congregation of Yahweh shall not become like a flock for whom there is no shepherd.

⁹ Formerly in Israel, thus said the man in his going to seek Elohim, `Come and we go unto the seer,' for the `prophet' of to-day is called formerly `the seer..

¹⁶ And he said, `I have seen all Israel scattered on the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd, and Yahweh said, There are no masters to these, they turn back each to his house in peace.. <sup>17</sup> And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, `Did I not say unto you, He does not prophesy concerning me good, but rather of evil?.

¹¹ And there is a word of Yahweh unto me, saying, `What are you seeing, Jeremiah?' And I say, `A rod of an almond tree I am seeing.'" ¹² And Yahweh said unto me, `You have well seen:for I am watching over My word to do it.'" <sup>13</sup> And there is a word of Yahweh unto me a second time, saying, `What are you seeing?' And I say, `A blown pot I am seeing, and its face [is] from the north.'" <sup>14</sup> And Yahweh said unto me, `From the north is the evil loosed against all inhabitants of the land." ¹⁵ For, lo, I am calling for all families of the kingdoms of the north, --an affirmation of Yahweh--and they have come, and put each his throne at the opening of the gates of Jerusalem, and by its walls round about, and by all cities of Judah." ¹⁶ And I have spoken My judgments with them concerning all their evil, in that they have forsaken Me, and make perfume to other elohims, and bow themselves to the works of their own hands."

¹ Woe to shepherds destroying, And scattering the flock of My pasture, An affirmation of Yahweh." ² Therefore, thus said Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, Against the shepherds who feed My people, You have scattered My flock, and drive them away, And have not inspected them, Lo, I am charging on you the evil of your doings, An affirmation of Yahweh."

⁶ A perishing flock has My people been, Their shepherds have caused them to err, [To] the mountains causing them to go back, From mountain unto hill they have gone, They have forgotten their crouching-place."

¹⁷ A scattered sheep is Israel, lions have driven away, At first, devour him did the king of Asshur, And now, at last, broken his bone Has Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon."

⁴ And I look, and lo, a tempestuous wind is coming from the north, a great cloud, and fire catching itself, and brightness to it round about, and out of its midst as the color of copper, out of the midst of the fire."

⁴ The weak you have not strengthened, And the sick one you have not healed, And the broken you have not bound up, And the driven away have not brought back, And the lost you have not sought, And with might you have ruled them and with rigor." ⁵ And they are scattered from want of a shepherd, And are for food to every beast of the field, Yea, they are scattered." ⁶ Go astray do My flock on all the mountains, And on every high hill, And on all the face of the land have My flock been scattered, And there is none inquiring, and none seeking."

² For the household gods speak lawlessness, and the diviners perceive a falsehood, and dreams of futility are they speaking; with vanity they are comforting. Therefore they decamp just as a flock; they are humbled, for there is no grazing."

⁷ O sword! rouse against My Shepherd, and against the Master, My Companion, (averring is Yahweh of hosts). Smite the Shepherd, and the flock is scattering. And I restore My hand on the inferior shepherds."

³⁶ Now, perceiving the throngs, He has compassion on them, for they were bothered and tossed as if sheep having no shepherd."

¹¹ and he is beholding heaven open and a certain utensil descending, as a large sheet, with four edges, being let down on the earth, ¹² in which belonged all the quadrupeds and reptiles of the earth and the flying creatures of heaven. ¹³ And a voice came to him, "Rise, Peter! Sacrifice and eat!" ¹⁴ Yet Peter said, "Far be it from me, Lord, for I never ate anything contaminating and unclean!" ¹⁵ And again, a second time, a voice came to him, "What God cleanses, do not you count contaminating!" ¹⁶ Now this occurred thrice, and straightway the utensil was taken up into heaven." ¹⁷ Now, as Peter was bewildered in himself as to what the vision which he perceived should be, lo! the men who have been dispatched by Cornelius, asking the way through to the house of Simon, stand by at the portal."

⁸ And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, `Yet--one man to seek Yahweh by him, and I have hated him, for he does not prophesy concerning me good, but evil--Micaiah son of Imlah;' and Jehoshaphat said, `Let not the king say so..

²⁴ What the wicked one shrinks from, it shall come to him, And what the righteous yearn for shall be given."

²² Though you bray the fool in a mortar, In the midst of the grist with a pestle, His folly shall not go away from him."

¹ The man receiving reproofs who is still stiff necked Shall be broken in an instant, and there will be no healing."

⁴⁵ Now, answering, a certain one of those learned in the law is saying to Him, "Teacher, saying these things, us also are you outraging."

¹⁸ And he said, `Therefore, hear you a word of Yahweh:I have seen Yahweh sitting on His throne, and all the host of the heavens standing on His right and His left;" ¹⁹ and Yahweh said, Who does entice Ahab king of Israel, and he does go up and fall in Ramoth-Gilead? And this speaker said thus, and that speaker thus. ²⁰ And go out does the spirit, and stand before Yahweh, and said, I do entice him; and Yahweh said unto him, With what? ²¹ and he said, I go out, and have become a spirit of falsehood in the mouth of all his prophets. And He said, You do entice, and also, you are able; go out and do so. ²² And, now, lo, Yahweh has put a spirit of falsehood in the mouth of these your prophets, and Yahweh has spoken concerning you--evil..

⁶ There was a day when the sons of Elohim would come to station themselves before Yahweh, and Satan came also in their midst.

¹ The day came around again when the sons of Elohim came to station themselves before Yahweh, and Satan came also in their midst to station himself before Yahweh.

²⁰ Bless Yahweh, all His messengers, Masters of valor, doing His word, So as to hearken to the voice of His word!" ²¹ Bless Yahweh, all His hosts, Who are ministering to Him, Doing what is acceptable to Him!"

¹⁰ Hear the word of Yahweh, captains of Sodom! Give ear to the law of Elohim, you people of Gomorrah!"

¹ In the year of the death of king Uzziah, I am seeing Yahweh, sitting on a throne. High and lifted up is He, and His skirts are filling the temple." ² Seraphim are standing above it with six wings, six wings to each one. With two it is covering its face, and with two it is covering its feet, and with two it is flying." ³ And one calls to another, and says, "Holy! Holy! Holy! Yahweh of hosts! All the earth is filled with His glory!"

¹⁴ Wherefore, hear the word of Yahweh, mocking mortals, proverb quoters of this people who are in Jerusalem."

⁴ Hear a word of Yahweh, O house of Jacob, And all you families of the house of Israel."

²⁰ `And you, hear you a word of Yahweh, all you of the captivity that I have sent from Jerusalem to Babylon,

¹⁵ And now, therefore, hear you a word of Yahweh, O remnant of Judah:Thus said Yahweh of Hosts, Elohim of Israel:If you really set your faces to enter Egypt, and have gone in to sojourn there,

²⁶ And above the expanse that [is] over their head, as an appearance of a sapphire stone, [is] the likeness of a throne, and on the likeness of the throne a likeness, as the appearance of man upon it from above." ²⁷ And I see as the color of copper, as the appearance of fire within it round about, from the appearance of his loins and upward, and from the appearance of his loins and downward, I have seen as the appearance of fire, and brightness [is] to it round about." ²⁸ As the appearance of the bow that is in a cloud in a day of rain, so [is] the appearance of the brightness round about."

² `Son of man, prophesy concerning the prophets of Israel who are prophesying, and you have said to those prophesying from their own heart:Hear you a word of Yahweh:"

⁹ Perceiving am I till thrones were placed, and the Transferrer of Days sits:His clothing is pale as snow, and the hair of His head as immaculate wool; His throne is as flaring flame, its rollers a flashing flame." ¹⁰ Streaming is a flame in front and issuing from before Him; a thousand thousands are irradiating Him, and ten thousand ten thousands are rising before Him. Adjudication sits and the scrolls are opened."

¹⁶ And now, hear the word of Yahweh, You are saying, You shall not prophesy against Israel, nor shall you drop a word against the house of Isaac."

¹⁰ And the man standing between the mountains is answering and saying to me, These are those whom Yahweh sends to walk in the earth."

¹⁰ See that you should not be despising one of these little ones, for I am saying to you that their messengers in the heavens are continually observing the face of My Father Who is in the heavens."

³¹ Now, whenever the Son of Mankind may be coming in His glory, and all the holy messengers with Him, then shall He be seated on the throne of His glory,

⁵⁵ Now possessing the fullness of faith and holy spirit, looking intently into heaven, he perceived the glory of God, and Jesus, standing at the right hand of God, ⁵⁶ and said, "Lo! I am beholding the heavens opened up, and the Son of Mankind standing at the right hand of God."

⁷ And, indeed, to the messengers He is saying, "Who is making His messengers blasts, And His ministers a flame of fire."

¹⁴ Are they not all ministering spirits commissioned for service because of those who are about to be enjoying the allotment of salvation?

²² But you have come to mount Zion, and the city of the living God, celestial Jerusalem, and to ten thousand messengers,

² Now immediately I came to be in spirit, and lo! a throne, located in heaven, and on the throne One sitting." ³ And He Who is sitting is, to my vision, like a jasper stone and a carnelian. And a rainbow around the throne is, to my vision, like an emerald."

¹¹ And I perceived, and I hear a sound as of many messengers around the throne and the animals and the elders, and their number was ten thousand ten thousand and a thousand thousand,

¹⁶ With Him are strength and prosperity; Both the erring one and the one causing error are His.

¹⁰ And I say, `Ah, Lord Yahweh, Surely you have entirely forgotten this people and Jerusalem, saying, Peace is for you, And struck has a sword unto the soul!'"

⁹ `And the prophet, when he is enticed, and has spoken a word--I, Yahweh, I have enticed that prophet, and have stretched out My hand against him, and have destroyed him from the midst of My people Israel."

²³ And now, lo, Yahweh has put a spirit of falsehood in the mouth of all these your prophets, and Yahweh has spoken concerning you--evil..

⁶ There was a day when the sons of Elohim would come to station themselves before Yahweh, and Satan came also in their midst. ⁷ Yahweh said to Satan, From where are you coming? Then Satan answered Yahweh and said, From going to and fro in the earth and from walking about in it.

²³ and Elohim sends an evil spirit between Abimelech and the masters of Shechem, and the masters of Shechem deal treacherously with Abimelech,

¹⁴ And the Spirit of Yahweh turned aside from Saul, and a spirit of sadness from Yahweh terrified him;"

¹⁰ And it comes to pass, on the morrow, that the spirit of sadness [from] Elohim prospers over Saul, and he prophesies in the midst of the house, and David is playing with his hand, as day by day, and the javelin [is] in the hand of Saul,

⁹ And a spirit of sadness [from] Yahweh is unto Saul, and he is sitting in his house, and his javelin in his hand, and David is playing with the hand,

²⁰ and Yahweh said, Who does entice Ahab, and he does go up and fall in Ramoth-Gilead? and this one said thus, and that one is saying thus.

⁸ So Yahweh said to Satan, Have you set your heart on My servant Job? For there is no one like him on the earth, a man flawless and upright, fearing Elohim and withdrawing from evil. ⁹ Then Satan answered Yahweh and said, Does Job fear Elohim gratuitously? ¹⁰ Have you yourself not hedged him about, and about his house and about all that is his all around. The work of his hands you have blessed, and his cattle breach forth throughout the countryside. ¹¹ Howbeit, now put forth your hand and touch all that is his. He shall assuredly scorn you to your face.

⁴ Then Satan answered Yahweh and said, Skin in behalf of skin, for all that a man has would he give in behalf of his soul. ⁵ Howbeit, now put forth your hand and touch his bone and his flesh. He shall assuredly scorn you to your face. ⁶ Hence Yahweh said to Satan, Behold him in your hand; yea, but keep his soul alive.

¹⁷ He loved malediction; may it come back on him. He has not delighted in blessing; may it stay far from him.

⁴⁴ You are of your father, the Adversary, and the desires of your father you are wanting to do. He was a man-killer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, for truth is not in him. Whenever he may be speaking a lie, he is speaking of his own, for he is a liar, and the father of it."

³ Now Peter said, "Ananias, wherefore does Satan fill your heart for you to falsify to the holy spirit and to embezzle from the price of the freehold? ⁴ Did it not, while remaining, remain yours? And, being disposed of, it belonged to you by right. Why is it that you placed this matter in your heart? You do not lie to men, but to God."

⁹ whose presence is in accord with the operation of Satan, with all power and signs and false miracles" ¹⁰ and with every seduction of injustice among those who are perishing, because they do not receive the love of the truth for their salvation." ¹¹ And therefore God will be sending them an operation of deception, for them to believe the falsehood, ¹² that all may be judged who do not believe the truth, but delight in injustice."

¹ Now the spirit is saying explicitly, that in subsequent eras some will be withdrawing from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and the teachings of demons,

⁶ We are of God. He who knows God is hearing us. He who is not of God is not hearing us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of deception.

⁹ And the great dragon was cast out, the ancient serpent called Adversary and Satan, who is deceiving the whole inhabited earth. It was cast into the earth, and its messengers were cast with it." ¹⁰ And I hear a loud voice in heaven saying, "Just now came the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of His Christ, for the accuser of our brethren was cast out, who was accusing them before our God day and night."

¹⁴ And it is deceiving those dwelling on the earth because of the signs which were given it to do in the sight of the wild beast, saying to those dwelling on the earth to make an image to the wild beast which has the blow of the sword and lives."

¹³ And I perceived, out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the wild beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet, ¹⁴ three unclean spirits, as if frogs (for they are spirits of demons, doing signs), which are going out to the kings of the whole inhabited earth, to be mobilizing them for the battle of the great day of God Almighty."

¹⁷ for God imparts to their hearts to form His opinion, and to form one opinion, and to give their kingdom to the wild beast, until the words of God shall be accomplished."

³ And he casts him into the submerged chaos and locks it, and seals it over him (lest he should still be deceiving the nations) until the thousand years should be finished. After these things he must be loosed a little time."

⁷ And whenever the thousand years should be finished, Satan will be loosed out of his jail."

¹⁰ And the Adversary who is deceiving them was cast into the lake of fire and sulphur, where the wild beast and where the false prophet are also. And they shall be tormented day and night for the eons of the eons."

²¹ And Yahweh said to Moses: When you go to return to Egypt, see to all the miracles which I place in your hand, that you do them before Pharaoh. Yet I shall make his heart steadfast, and he shall not dismiss the people.

²⁰ Yet Yahweh made the heart of Pharaoh steadfast, so that he did not dismiss the sons of Israel.

¹⁹ El is not a man that He should lie. Nor a son of humanity that He should feel regret. Does He say it and then not do it? Or speak and then not carry it out? ²⁰ Behold, I undertake to bless; He blesses and I shall not reverse it.

³⁰ Yet Sihon king of Heshbon would not let us pass through it, for Yahweh your Elohim made his spirit obstinate and made his heart resolute, that He might give him into your hand (as is known this day).

⁴² and he said unto him, `Thus said Yahweh, Because you have sent away the man I devoted, out of [your] hand, even your life has been for his life, and your people for his people;.

¹⁹ and you have spoken unto him, saying, Thus said Yahweh, Have you murdered, and also possessed? and you have spoken unto him, saying, Thus said Yahweh, In the place where the dogs licked the blood of Naboth, do the dogs lick your blood, even your..

⁸ And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, `Yet--one man to seek Yahweh by him, and I have hated him, for he does not prophesy concerning me good, but evil--Micaiah son of Imlah;' and Jehoshaphat said, `Let not the king say so.. ⁹ And the king of Israel calls unto a certain eunuch, and said, `Hasten Micaiah son of Imlah.. <sup>10</sup> And the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat king of Judah are sitting, each on his throne, clothed with garments, in a threshing-floor, at the opening of the gate of Samaria, and all the prophets are prophesying before them. <sup>11</sup> And Zedekiah son of Chenaanah makes for himself horns of iron, and said, `Thus said Yahweh, By these you do push the Arameans till they are consumed;.

¹⁶ And it comes to pass, in his speaking unto him, that he said to him, `For a counsellor to the king have we appointed you? cease for you; why do they smite you?' And the prophet ceases, and said, `I have known that Elohim has counselled to destroy you, because you have done this, and have not hearkened to my counsel..

⁹ And He is saying to me, "Go, and say to this people:`Hear you to hear, yet you must not be understanding." ¹⁰ And see you to see, yet you must not be knowing. Stouten the heart of this people, and their ears make heavy, and their eyes make squint. Lest they are seeing with their eyes, and with their ears are hearing, and with their heart are understanding, and, turning back, then healing is theirs."

²⁰ Grazing on ashes, a trifling heart turns him aside. And he is not rescuing his soul, nor is he saying, "Is not a falsehood in my right hand?

³ `Son of man, these men have caused their idols to go up on their heart, and the stumbling-block of their iniquity they have put over-against their faces; am I inquired of at all by them? <sup>4</sup> `Therefore, speak with them, and you have said unto them:Thus said the Lord Yahweh:Every one of the house of Israel who causes his idols to go up unto his heart, and the stumbling-block of his iniquity sets over-against his face, and has gone in unto the prophet--I Yahweh have given an answer to him for this, for the abundance of his idols, ⁵ in order to catch the house of Israel by their heart, in that they have become estranged from off me by their idols--all of them."

¹³ Therefore in parables am I speaking to them, seeing that, observing, they are not observing, and hearing, they are not hearing, neither are they understanding." ¹⁴ And filled up in them is the prophecy of Isaiah, that is saying, '"In hearing, you will be hearing, and may by no means be understanding, And observing, you will be observing, and may by no means be perceiving." ¹⁵ For stoutened is the heart of this people, And with their ears heavily they hear, And with their eyes they squint, Lest at some time they may be perceiving with their eyes, And with their ears should be hearing, And with their heart may be understanding, And should be turning about, And I shall be healing them.'"

²⁴ For roused shall be false christs and false prophets, and they shall be giving great signs and miracles, so as to deceive, if possible, even the chosen." ²⁵ Lo! I have declared it to you beforehand.

¹¹ And Zedekiah son of Chenaanah makes for himself horns of iron, and said, `Thus said Yahweh, By these you do push the Arameans till they are consumed;.

²³ And Zedekiah son of Chenaanah comes nigh, and smites Micaiah on the cheek, and said, `Where [is] this--the way the Spirit of Yahweh passed over from me to speak with you?. <sup>24</sup> And Micaiah said, `Lo, you do see in that day, that you do enter into the innermost chamber to be hidden..

⁵ My Lord Yahweh Elohim opens my ear, and I do not rebel. Thereafter I am not turned away." ⁶ My body I give to smiters, and my cheeks to burnishers. My face I do not conceal from confoundings and spitting."

¹⁰ And Hananiah the prophet takes the yoke from off the neck of Jeremiah the prophet, and breaks it, ¹¹ And Hananiah speaks before the eyes of all the people, saying, `Thus said Yahweh, Thus I break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, within two years of days, from off the neck of all the nations;' and Jeremiah the prophet goes on his way."

²⁶ Yahweh has made you priest instead of Jehoiada the priest, for there being inspectors of the house of Yahweh, for every one mad and making himself a prophet, and you have put him unto the torture and unto the stocks." ²⁷ And now, why have you not pushed against Jeremiah of Anathoth, who is making himself a prophet to you?

³⁰ Let him give his cheek to his smiter; let him be surfeited with reproach.

¹ Now, you shall build yourself a stone dike, daughter of Ephraim; he will place a siege work against us. With a club they will smite the judge of Israel on the cheek."

³⁹ Yet I am saying to you not to withstand a wicked person, but anyone who slaps you on your right cheek, turn to him the other also.

⁶⁸ saying, "Prophesy to us, Christ! Who is it that hits you?

⁴² Others he saves! Himself he can not save! If he is king of Israel, let him descend now from the cross, and we will believe on him!" ⁴³ He has confidence in God. Let Him rescue him now, if He is wanting him, for he said that 'God's Son am I!'"

⁶⁵ And some begin to be spitting on Him and putting a covering about His face and buffeting Him and saying to Him, "Prophesy!And the deputies, with slaps, took Him."

¹⁹ And they beat His head with a reed and spat on Him and, kneeling, they worshiped Him." ²⁰ And when they scoff at Him, they strip Him of the purple and put on Him His own garments, and they are leading Him out that they should be crucifying Him."

¹⁸ If the world is hating you, know that it has hated Me first before you."

²⁰ Remember the word which I said to you, 'A slave is not greater than his lord.' If Me they persecute, you they will be persecuting also. If My word they keep, yours also will they be keeping."

² Now the chief priest Ananias enjoins those standing beside him to beat his mouth.

⁸ As for the kings of Midian, they killed them along with their men wounded to death:Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur and Reba, five kings of Midian. Also Balaam son of Beor they killed with the sword.

³⁰ And those left flee to Aphek, unto the city, and the wall falls on twenty and seven chief men who are left, and Ben-Hadad has fled, and comes in unto the city, into the innermost part.

¹⁴ And Yahweh will cut off from Israel head and tail, frond and rush in one day." ¹⁵ The elder and reputable, he is the head, and a prophet directing with falsehood, he is the tail." ¹⁶ And they are coming to make this people happy, leading them astray, and those being made happy will be swallowed up."

¹⁵ Therefore, thus said Yahweh of Hosts, concerning the prophets:Lo, I am causing them to eat wormwood, And have caused them to drink water of gall, For, from prophets of Jerusalem Has profanity gone forth to all the land."

¹⁶ Therefore thus said Yahweh, Lo, I am casting you from off the face of the ground; this year you die, for apostasy you have spoken concerning Yahweh.'" ¹⁷ And Hananiah the prophet dies in that year, in the seventh month."

²¹ Thus said Yahweh of Hosts, Elohim of Israel, concerning Ahab son of Kolaiah, and concerning Zedekiah son of Maaseiah, who are prophesying to you in My name falsehood:Lo, I am giving them into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and he has smitten them before your eyes, ²² And taken from them has been a reviling by all the removed of Judah that [are] in Babylon, saying, Yahweh does set you as Zedekiah, and as Ahab, whom the king of Babylon roasted with fire;"

³² Therefore, thus said Yahweh, Lo, I am seeing after Shemaiah the Nehelamite, and after his seed, he has none dwelling in the midst of this people, nor does he look on the good that I am doing to My people--an affirmation of Yahweh--for apostasy he has spoken against Yahweh.'"

¹⁷ Wherefore, thus says Yahweh, Your wife shall commit prostitution in the city, and your sons and your daughters shall fall by the sword, and your ground shall be apportioned by the line, and you shall die on unclean ground. And Israel shall verily be deported off his ground."

¹ Yet there came to be false prophets also among the people, as among you also there will be false teachers who will be smuggling in destructive sects, even disowning the Owner Who buys them, bringing on themselves swift destruction."

³ You shall not eat anything leavened with it. Seven days shall you eat unleavened cakes with it, the bread of humiliation (for in nervous haste you went forth from the country of Egypt), that you may remember the day of your going forth from the country of Egypt all the days of your life.

¹⁰ And Asa is angry at the seer, and gives him to the house of torture, for [he is] in a rage with him for this; and Asa oppresses [some] of the people at that time.

⁵ You have fed them the bread of tears; You have even made them drink tears by the bowlful.

⁹ For I eat ashes like bread, And I blend my drink with lamentation,

² Futile is it for you to rise early, And stay up late, Eating the bread of grievous labor; Yet so is He giving to His beloved in their sleep."

²⁰ And Yahweh will give to you the bread of distress, and the water of oppression, yet no longer will He hem in your directors, and your eyes shall come to see your directors,

² and Pashhur smites Jeremiah the prophet, and puts him unto the stocks, that [are] by the high gate of Benjamin, that [is] by the house of Yahweh."

¹⁵ and the heads are wroth against Jeremiah, and have smitten him, and put him in the prison-house--the house of Jonathan the scribe, for it they had made for a prison-house."

⁶ And they take Jeremiah, and cast him into the pit of Malchiah son of the king, that [is] in the court of the prison, and they send down Jeremiah with cords; and in the pit there is no water, but mire, and Jeremiah sinks in the mire."

⁵³ They efface my life in a dungeon, which they block up over me with a stone;" ⁵⁴ Waters float over my head; I say:I am severed; ⁵⁵ I call on Your Name, O Yahweh, from the nether parts of the dungeon;"

¹⁷ For he, Herod, dispatches and holds John and binds him in jail, because of Herodias, the wife of Philip, his brother, seeing that he marries her." ¹⁸ For John said to Herod that "It is not allowed you to have the wife of your brother." ¹⁹ Now Herodias hemmed him in, and wanted to kill him, and could not, ²⁰ for Herod feared John, being aware that he is a just and holy man, and he preserved him. And hearing him, he was much perplexed, and heard him with relish." ²¹ And, an opportune day coming when Herod at his birthday celebrations makes a dinner for his magnates and captains and for the foremost men of Galilee, ²² and at her, Herodias' daughter's, entering and dancing, she pleases Herod and those lying back at table with him. Now the king said to the maiden, "Request of me whatsoever you may be wanting, and I will give it to you." ²³ And he swears to her that "Whatsoever you should be requesting me, I will give you, to the half of my kingdom." ²⁴ And, coming out, she said to her mother, "What should I be requesting?Now she said, "The head of John the baptist." ²⁵ And entering straightway with diligence to the king, she requests, saying, "I want that you forthwith may be giving me on a platter the head of John the baptist." ²⁶ And the king, becoming sorrow-stricken, because of the oaths and those lying back at table with him, does not want to repudiate her." ²⁷ And straightway the king, dispatching, enjoins a lifeguardsman to bring his head. And, coming away, he beheads him in the jail, ²⁸ and carries his head on a platter, and gives it to the maiden, and the maiden gives it to her mother."

²⁰ adds this also to them all: he locks up John in jail.

⁴⁵ Now if that slave should be saying in his heart, 'My lord is delaying his coming,' and should be beginning both to beat the boys and the maids and to be eating and drinking and to be drunk, ⁴⁶ the lord of that slave will be arriving on a day for which he is not hoping and at an hour which he does not know, and shall be cutting him asunder and shall be appointing his part with the unfaithful."

¹⁸ and laid hands on the apostles and place them in public custody.

²³ Besides, placing on them many blows, they cast them into jail, charging the warden to keep them securely, ²⁴ who, getting such a charge, casts them into the interior jail, and secures their feet in the stocks."

²⁵ Now as he is arguing concerning righteousness, and self-control, and the impending judgment, Felix, becoming affrighted, answered, "Now go. Yet, given occasion, I shall be calling for you, ²⁶ at the same time expecting also that money will be given him by Paul. Wherefore, sending after him more frequently also, he conversed with him." ²⁷ Now, two years being fulfilled, Felix got a successor, Porcius Festus. Besides, wanting to curry favor with the Jews, Felix left Paul bound."

¹⁰ And besides, many of the saints I lock up in jails, obtaining authority from the chief priests. Besides, I deposit a ballot to despatch them."

¹ On this behalf I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for you, the nations"

² for you yourselves are accurately aware that the day of the Lord is as a thief in the night - thus is it coming! ³ Now whenever they may be saying "Peace and security,then extermination is standing by them unawares, even as a pang over the pregnant, and they may by no means escape."

¹³ Come now, you who are saying, "Today or tomorrow we will be going into this or that city and should be spending a year there, and we will be trafficking and getting gain-" ¹⁴ who are not versed in that which is the morrow's, for what is your life? For a vapor are you, which is appearing briefly and thereupon disappearing-"

¹⁰ Fear nothing that you are about to be suffering. Lo! the Adversary is about to be casting some of you into jail that you may be tried, and you will be having affliction ten days. Become faithful until death, and I shall be giving you the wreath of life."

²⁹ Should these die the common death of all humanity, and should the visitation of all humanity be visited on them, then Yahweh has not sent me.

²⁰ But the prophet who shall act arrogantly by speaking a word in My name which I did not instruct him to speak, or who shall speak in the name of other elohim, that prophet must die. ²¹ In case you should say in your heart:How shall we know the word that Yahweh has not spoken? ²² When a prophet shall speak in the name of Yahweh, and the word shall neither come to be nor come about, then it is a word that Yahweh did not speak, In arrogance did the prophet speak it. You shall not shrink away from him in awe.

²¹ and Elijah comes nigh unto all the people, and said, `Till when are you leaping on the two branches? --if Yahweh [is] Elohim, go after Him; and if Baal, go after him;' and the people have not answered him a word. <sup>22</sup> And Elijah said unto the people, `I--I have been left a prophet of Yahweh--by myself; and the prophets of Baal [are] four hundred and fifty men;" ²³ and let them give to us two bullocks, and they choose for themselves the one bullock, and cut it in pieces, and place [it] on the wood, and place no fire; and I--I prepare the other bullock, and have put [it] on the wood, and fire I do not place; -. ²⁴ and you have called in the name of your elohim, and I--I call in the name of Yahweh, and it has been, the elohim who answers by fire--He [is] the Elohim.' And all the people answer and say, `Good [is] the word..

³⁶ And it comes to pass, at the going up of the [evening -]present, that Elijah the prophet comes nigh and said, `Yahweh, Elohim of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, to-day let it be known that You [are] Elohim in Israel, and I Your servant, that by Your word I have done the whole of these things;" ³⁷ answer me, O Yahweh, answer me, and this people does know that You [are] Yahweh Elohim; and You have turned their heart backward..

¹⁰ And Elijah answers and speaks unto the head of the fifty, `And if I [am] a man of Elohim, fire does come down from the heavens, and consume you and your fifty;' and fire comes down from the heavens, and consumes him and his fifty.

¹² And Elijah answers and speaks unto them, `If I [am] a man of Elohim, fire does come down from the heavens, and consume you and your fifty;' and fire of Elohim comes down from the heavens, and consumes him and his fifty.

²⁷ And Micaiah said, `If you do certainly return in peace, Yahweh has not spoken by me;' and he said, `Hear you, O peoples, all of them!.

²⁶ setting up the word of His servant, and performing the counsel of His messengers. Saying to Jerusalem, `You shall be indwelt,' and to the cities of Judah, `You shall be built,' and `Its deserted places I will raise up.'"

¹ Hear this word which Yahweh speaks against you, house of Israel, against the entire family which I brought up from the land of Egypt, saying:"

² Hear, you peoples, all of you! Attend, O earth and its fullness! My Lord Yahweh is coming among you as a Witness--My Lord, from His holy temple."

¹⁴ And calling the throng to Him again, He said to them, "Hear Me, all, and understand." ¹⁵ Nothing is there outside of a man, going into him, which can contaminate him, but those things going out of a man are what is contaminating the man."

³⁷ Then he, David, is terming Him 'Lord.' And whence is He his Son?And the vast throng hears Him with relish."

¹⁰ said, "O, full of all guile and all knavery, son of the Adversary, enemy of all righteousness, will you not cease perverting the straight ways of the Lord? ¹¹ And now, lo! the hand of the Lord is on you, and you shall be blind, not observing the sun until the appointed time.Now instantly there falls on him a fog and darkness, and, going about, he sought someone to lead him by the hand."

² and it comes to pass in the third year, that Jehoshaphat king of Judah comes down unto the king of Israel, ³ and the king of Israel said unto his servants, `Have you not known that ours [is] Ramoth-Gilead? and we are keeping silent from taking it out of the hand of the king of Aram!. <sup>4</sup> And he said unto Jehoshaphat, `Do you go with me to battle [to] Ramoth-Gilead?' and Jehoshaphat said unto the king of Israel, `As I am, so you; as my people, so your people; as my horses, so your horses.. <sup>5</sup> And Jehoshaphat said unto the king of Israel, `Seek, I pray you, to-day, the word of Yahweh;. ⁶ and the king of Israel gathers the prophets, about four hundred men, and said unto them, `Do I go against Ramoth-Gilead to battle, or do I forbear?' and they say, `Go up, and the Lord does give [it] into the hand of the king.. ⁷ And Jehoshaphat said, `Is there not here a prophet of Yahweh besides, and we seek by him?. <sup>8</sup> And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, `Yet--one man to seek Yahweh by him, and I have hated him, for he does not prophesy concerning me good, but evil--Micaiah son of Imlah;' and Jehoshaphat said, `Let not the king say so.. <sup>9</sup> And the king of Israel calls unto a certain eunuch, and said, `Hasten Micaiah son of Imlah..

²⁸ And the king of Israel goes up, and Jehoshaphat king of Judah, unto Ramoth-Gilead;"

⁸ And Saul disguises himself and puts on other garments, and goes, he and two of the men with him, and they come in unto the woman by night, and he said, `Divine, I pray you, to me by the familiar spirit, and cause to come up to me him whom I say unto you..

² and Joab sends to Tekoah, and takes thence a wise woman, and said unto her, `Feign yourself a mourner, I pray you, and put on, I pray you, garments of mourning, and anoint not yourself with oil, and you have been as a woman these many days mourning for the dead,

² and Jeroboam said to his wife, `Rise, I pray you, and change yourself, and they know not that you [are] wife of Jeroboam, and you have gone to Shiloh; lo, there [is] Ahijah the prophet; he spoke unto me of [being] king over this people;"

³⁸ and the prophet goes and stands for the king on the way, and disguises himself with ashes on his eyes.

¹⁰ And the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat king of Judah are sitting, each on his throne, clothed with garments, in a threshing-floor, at the opening of the gate of Samaria, and all the prophets are prophesying before them.

²⁹ and the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat to disguise himself, and to go into battle, `And you, put on your garments.' And the king of Israel disguises himself, and they go into battle.

² They speak hypocrisy, each one with his associate; With a lip of slick words, with a double-minded heart they speak.

³⁰ There is no wisdom, there is no comprehension, And there is no counsel in confronting Yahweh."

²⁴ Is any one hidden in secret places, And I see him not? an affirmation of Yahweh, Do not I fill the heavens and the earth? An affirmation of Yahweh."

¹¹ And the mortals who are at the portal of the house they smite with dazzlings, from the small to the great, so they are tiring themselves trying to find the portal.

² and they take captive the women who [are] in it; from small unto great they have not put any one to death, and they lead away, and go on their way.

¹ And Ben-Hadad king of Aram has gathered all his force, and thirty and two kings [are] with him, and horse and chariot, and he goes up and lays siege against Samaria, and fights with it,

¹⁶ and they go out at noon, and Ben-Hadad is drinking--drunk in the booths, he and the kings, the thirty and two kings, helping him.

²⁴ `And this thing do you:turn aside the kings each out of his place, and set captains in their stead;"

³³ And the men observe diligently, and hasten, and catch it from him, and say, `Your brother Ben-Hadad;' and he said, `Go you in, bring him;' and Ben-Hadad comes out unto him, and he causes him to come up on the chariot. ³⁴ And he said unto him, `The cities that my father took from your father, I give back, and streets you do make for you in Damascus, as my father did in Samaria;' --`and I, with a covenant, send you away;' and he makes with him a covenant, and sends him away. ³⁵ And a certain man of the sons of the prophets said unto his neighbor by the word of Yahweh, `Smite me, I pray you;' and the man refuses to smite him, <sup>36</sup> and he said to him, `Because that you have not hearkened to the voice of Yahweh, lo, you are going from me, and the lion has smitten you;' and he goes from him, and the lion finds him, and smites him. ³⁷ And he finds another man, and said, `Smite me, I pray you;' and the man smites him, smiting and wounding, <sup>38</sup> and the prophet goes and stands for the king on the way, and disguises himself with ashes on his eyes. <sup>39</sup> And it comes to pass--the king is passing by--that he has cried unto the king, and said, `Your servant went out into the midst of the battle, and lo, a man has turned aside and brings in unto me a man, and said, Keep this man; if he be at all missing, then has your life been for his life, or a talent of silver you do weigh out;" ⁴⁰ and it comes to pass, your servant is working hither and thither, and he is not!' and the king of Israel said unto him, Right [is] your judgment; you have determined [it].. ⁴¹ And he hastes and turns aside the ashes from off his eyes, and the king of Israel discerns him, that he [is] of the prophets, ⁴² and he said unto him, `Thus said Yahweh, Because you have sent away the man I devoted, out of [your] hand, even your life has been for his life, and your people for his people;.

³⁰ And the king of Aram has commanded the heads of the charioteers whom he has, saying, `You do not fight with small or with great, except with the king of Israel by himself..

⁶ And died have great and small in this land, They are not buried, and none lament for them, Nor does any cut himself, nor become bald for them."

¹⁰ So Pharaoh, he drew near. Then the sons of Israel lifted their eyes, and behold, the Egyptians were journeying after them. Now they became exceedingly fearful, and the sons of Israel cried to Yahweh.

³¹ And it comes to pass at the heads of the charioteers seeing Jehoshaphat, that they have said, `The king of Israel he is,' and they turn round against him to fight, and Jehoshaphat cries out, and Yahweh has helped him, and Elohim entices them from him,

¹⁵ And call upon Me in the day of distress; I shall liberate you, and you shall glorify Me."

¹⁵ He shall call on Me, and I shall answer him; I am with him in distress; I shall liberate him and glorify him."

¹ I love Him because Yahweh has heard My voice, my supplications;" ² For He has stretched out His ear to me, And I shall call on Him throughout all my days."

¹ {A Song of Ascents{ From the depths I call out to You, O Yahweh;" ² O Yahweh, do hear my voice; Let Your ears be attentive To the sound of my supplications." ³ If You should keep account of depravities, O Yah, O Yahweh, who should stand? ⁴ For with You is pardon That You may be devoutly feared.

¹ And Jonah is praying to Yahweh, his Elohim, from the bowels of the fish." ² And he is saying, I call, because of my distress, to Yahweh, my Elohim, and He is answering me. From the belly of the unseen I implore; You hear my voice."

³¹ And the king of Aram commanded the heads of the charioteers whom he has--thirty and two--saying, `You do not fight with small or with great, but with the king of Israel by himself..

¹⁰ For the fury of humanity, it is acclaiming You; The remainder of the fury shall celebrate to You."

⁴⁹ and David puts forth his hand unto the vessel, and takes thence a stone, and slings, and smites the Philistine on his forehead, and the stone sinks into his forehead, and he falls on his face to the earth.

¹¹ And with Absalom have gone two hundred men, out of Jerusalem, invited ones, and they are going in their simplicity, and have not known anything;"

²⁴ And Jehu has filled his hand with a bow, and smites Jehoram between his arms, and the arrow goes out from his heart, and he bows down in his chariot.

²³ and the archers shoot at king Josiah, and the king said to his servants, `Remove me, for I have become very sick..

¹³ And, moreover, I start to smite you, to desolate you on account of your sins."

⁹ And they had cuirasses, as it were cuirasses of iron, and the sound of their wings is as the sound of many chariot horses racing into battle."

²⁸ And Micaiah said, `If you at all return in peace--Yahweh has not spoken by me;' and he said, `Hear, O peoples, all of them..

⁷ And Yahweh said unto Gideon, `By the three hundred men who are lapping I save you, and have given Midian into your hand, and all the people go, each to his place.. ⁸ And the people take the provision in their hand, and their trumpets, and every man of Israel he has sent away, each to his tents; and on the three hundred men he has kept hold, and the camp of Midian has been by him at the lower part of the valley.

²⁴ And the sons of Israel go up and down thence at that time, each to his tribe, and to his family; and they go out thence each to his inheritance.

¹⁰ And the Philistines fight, and Israel is smitten, and they flee each to his tents, and the blow is very great, and there fall of Israel thirty thousand footmen;"

⁸ And the king rises, and sits in the gate, and to all the people they have declared, saying, `Lo, the king is sitting in the gate;' and all the people come in before the king, and Israel has fled, each to his tents.

¹⁶ And all Israel see that the king has not hearkened unto them, and the people send the king back word, saying, `What portion have we in David? yea, there is no inheritance in the son of Jesse; to your tents, O Israel; now see your house, O David!' and Israel goes to its tents.

²⁴ Thus said Yahweh, You do not go up nor fight with your brethren the sons of Israel; turn back each to his house, for from Me has this thing been;' and they hear the word of Yahweh, and turn back to go according to the word of Yahweh.

¹⁷ And he said, `I have seen all Israel scattered on the hills as sheep that have no shepherd, and Yahweh said, These have no master; they turn back each to his house in peace..

¹² and Judah is smitten before Israel, and they flee each to his tent.

¹⁴ `And lo, I am going, to-day, in the way of all the earth, and you have known--with all your heart, and with all your soul--that there has not fallen one thing of all the good things which Yahweh your Elohim has spoken concerning you; the whole have come to you; there has not failed of it one thing. <sup>15</sup> `And it has been, as there has come upon you all the good thing which Yahweh your Elohim has spoken unto you, so does Yahweh bring upon you the whole of the evil thing, till His destroying you from off this good ground which Yahweh your Elohim has given to you;"

²⁵ Annulling the signs of the inventors of deception, and making the diviners bluster, causing the wise to return backward, and making their knowledge silly, ²⁶ setting up the word of His servant, and performing the counsel of His messengers. Saying to Jerusalem, `You shall be indwelt,' and to the cities of Judah, `You shall be built,' and `Its deserted places I will raise up.'"

³ The first things hitherto I foretold, and from My mouth they fared forth. Then I am announcing them. Suddenly I do them. And they shall come to pass." ⁴ From what I know, you are obstinate, and a sinew of iron is your scruff. And your forehead is copper." ⁵ Yet I was telling it to you hitherto; ere it is coming, I announced it to you, lest you should say, `My grief fetish did them. And my carving and my molten image instructs them.'"

²¹ `The perfume that you made in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, you, and your fathers, your kings, and your heads, and the people of the land, has not Yahweh remembered it? yea, it comes up on His heart." <sup>22</sup> And Yahweh is not able any more to accept [you], because of the evil of your doings, because of the abominations that you have done, and your land is for a waste, and for an astonishment, and for a reviling, without inhabitant, as [at] this day." <sup>23</sup> `Because that you have made perfume, and because you have sinned against Yahweh, and have not hearkened to the voice of Yahweh, and in His law, and in His statutes, and in His testimonies you have not walked, therefore has this evil met you as [at] this day.'"

⁴ You must not become as your forefathers, to whom the former prophets called saying, Thus says Yahweh of hosts:Return, I pray, from your evil ways, and from your evil actions. Yet they hearkened not, and they attended not to Me, (averring is Yahweh)." ⁵ Your forefathers, where are they? And the prophets, are they living for the eon? ⁶ Yea, My words and My statutes, which you have received, which I instruct, by My spirit, My servants the prophets, did they not overtake your forefathers? And they are turning away and are saying:Just as Yahweh of hosts plans to do to us, as fits our ways and our actions, so He does with us."

³⁵ Heaven and earth shall be passing by, yet My words may by no means be passing by."

¹⁸ And the king makes a great throne of ivory, and overlays it with refined gold;"

²² for a navy of Tarshish has the king at sea with a navy of Hiram; once in three years comes the navy of Tarshish, bearing gold, and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks.

¹⁹ And the rest of the matters of Jeroboam, how he fought, and how he reigned, lo, they are written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Israel.

²³ And the rest of all the matters of Asa, and all his might, and all that he did, and the cities that he built, are they not written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Judah? Only, at the time of his old age he was diseased in his feet;"

³¹ And the rest of the matters of Nadab, and all that he did, are they not written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Israel?

⁵ And the rest of the matters of Baasha, and that which he did, and his might, are they not written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Israel?

²⁰ and the rest of the matters of Zimri, and his conspiracy that he made, are they not written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Israel?

²⁷ And the rest of the matters of Omri that he did, and his might that he got, are they not written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Israel?

⁸ All Your garments are myrrh and aloes and cassia; From ivory palaces, lutes rejoice You."

⁶ Of oaks of Bashan they made your oars, Your bench they have made of ivory, A branch of Ashurim from isles of Chittim."

¹⁵ Sons of Dedan [are] your merchants, Many isles [are] the mart of your hand, Horns of ivory and ebony they sent back your reward."

¹⁵ And I will smite the winter house along with the summer house, and the houses of ivory shall perish, and many houses shall be terminated, (averring is Yahweh)."

⁴ those lying on couches of ivory, and who extend themselves on their divans, and are eating the butting lambs from the flock, and the calves from the midst of the stall;"

¹⁶ Yahweh said to Moses:Behold, you are about to lie with your fathers. Yet this people will rise and prostitute after the elohim of the foreigners of the land where they are entering to be among them; and they will forsake Me and annul My covenant that I contracted with them.

¹² `When your days are full, and you have lain with your fathers, then I have raised up your seed after you which goes out from your bowels, and have established his kingdom;"

¹⁰ And David lies down with his fathers, and is buried in the city of David,

²¹ And Hadad has heard in Egypt that David has lain with his fathers, and that Joab head of the host is dead, and Hadad said unto Pharaoh, `Send me away, and I go unto my land..

³¹ and Rehoboam lies with his fathers, and is buried with his fathers, in the city of David, and the name of his mother [is] Naamah the Ammonitess, and reign does Abijam his son in his stead.

⁵¹ Ahaziah son of Ahab has reigned over Israel in Samaria in the seventeenth year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, and reigns over Israel two years,

² and Ahaziah falls through the lattice in his upper chamber that [is] in Samaria, and is sick, and sends messengers, and said unto them, `Go you, inquire of Baal-Zebub elohim of Ekron if I recover from this sickness..

¹⁷ And he dies, according to the word of Yahweh that Elijah spoke, and Jehoram reigns in his stead, in the second year of Jehoram son of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, for he had no son.

³⁵ And after this has Jehoshaphat king of Judah joined himself with Ahaziah king of Israel, (he did wickedly in [so] doing),

² and it comes to pass in the third year, that Jehoshaphat king of Judah comes down unto the king of Israel,

¹⁰ And the son of Solomon [is] Rehoboam, Abijah his son, Asa his son, Jehoshaphat his son,

¹ And Jehoshaphat his son reigns in his stead, and he strengthens himself against Israel,

³¹ And Jehoshaphat reigns over Judah, a son of thirty and five years in his reigning, and twenty and five years he has reigned in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother [is] Azubah daughter of Shilhi.

²¹ And Rehoboam son of Solomon has reigned in Judah; a son of forty and one years [is] Rehoboam in his reigning, and seventeen years he has reigned in Jerusalem, the city that Yahweh chose to set His name there, out of all the tribes of Israel, and the name of his mother [is] Naamah the Ammonitess.

² three years he has reigned in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother [is] Maachah daughter of Abishalom;"

¹⁰ and forty and one years he has reigned in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother [is] Maachah daughter of Abishalom.

¹⁶ And in the fifth year of Joram son of Ahab king of Israel--and Jehoshaphat [is] king of Judah--has Jehoram son of Jehoshaphat king of Judah reigned;

⁸ They have withdrawn quickly from the way I instructed them. They have made for themselves a molten calf and bowed themselves down to it. They have sacrificed to it and said: These are your elohim, Israel, who brought you up from the land of Egypt.

²⁰ And Samuel said unto the people, `Fear not; you have done all this evil; only, turn not aside from after Yahweh--and you have served Yahweh with all your heart, ²¹ and you do not turn aside after the vain things which do not profit nor deliver, for they [are] vain,

²³ And they build--also they--for themselves high places, and standing-pillars, and shrines, on every high height, and under every green tree;"

⁵ in that David did that which [is] right in the eyes of Yahweh, and turned not aside from all that He commanded him all days of his life--only in the matter of Uriah the Hittite;"

¹¹ And Asa does that which [is] right in the eyes of Yahweh, like David his father,

¹⁴ and the high places have not turned aside; only, the heart of Asa has been perfect with Yahweh all his days,

³ only, the high places have not turned aside, still are the people sacrificing and making perfume in high places.

³ and he does that which [is] right in the eyes of Yahweh, only not like David his father, according to all that Joash his father did he has done, ⁴ only, the high places have not turned aside--yet are the people sacrificing and making perfume in high places.

³ and he does that which [is] right in the eyes of Yahweh, according to all that Amaziah his father did, ⁴ only, the high places have not turned aside--yet are the people sacrificing and making perfume in high places.

²² `And when you say unto me, Unto Yahweh our Elohim we have trusted, is it not He whose high places and whose altars Hezekiah has turned aside, and said to Judah and to Jerusalem, Before this altar do you bow yourselves in Jerusalem?

² And Asa does that which is good, and that which is right, in the eyes of Yahweh his Elohim, ³ and turns aside the altars of the stranger, and the high places, and breaks the standing-pillars, and cuts down the shrines, ⁴ and said to Judah to seek Yahweh, Elohim of their fathers, and to do the law and the command;" ⁵ and he turns aside out of all cities of Judah the high places and the images, and the kingdom is quiet before him.

¹¹ And Asa calls unto Yahweh his Elohim, and said, `Yahweh! it is nothing with You to help, between the mighty and those who have no power; help us, O Yahweh, our Elohim, for on You we have leant, and in Your name we have come against this multitude; O Yahweh, our Elohim you [are]; let him not prevail with You--mortal man!"

⁸ And at Asa's hearing these words, and the prophecy of Oded the prophet, he has strengthened himself, and does cause the abominations to pass away out of all the land of Judah and Benjamin, and out of the cities that he has captured from the hill-country of Ephraim, and renews the altar of Yahweh that [is] before the porch of Yahweh,

¹⁷ yet the high places have not turned aside from Israel; only, the heart of Asa has been perfect all his days.

⁷ And at that time has Hanani the seer come in unto Asa king of Judah, and said unto him, `Because of your leaning on the king of Aram, and you have not leaned on Yahweh your Elohim, therefore has the force of the king of Aram escaped from your hand. ⁸ Did not the Cushim and the Lubim become a very great force for multitude, for chariot, and for horsemen? and in your leaning on Yahweh He gave them into your hand, ⁹ for Yahweh--His eyes go to and fro in all the earth, to show Himself strong [for] a people whose heart [is] perfect towards Him; you have been foolish concerning this, because--henceforth there are with you wars.. ¹⁰ And Asa is angry at the seer, and gives him to the house of torture, for [he is] in a rage with him for this; and Asa oppresses [some] of the people at that time. ¹¹ And lo, the matters of Asa, the first and the last, lo, they are written on the book of the kings of Judah and Israel. ¹² And Asa is diseased--in the thirty and ninth year of his reign--in his feet, till his disease is excessive, and also in his disease he has not sought Yahweh, but among physicians.

³ And Yahweh is with Jehoshaphat, for he has walked in the first ways of David his father, and has not sought to Baalim, ⁴ for to the Elohim of his father he has sought, and in His commands he has walked, and not according to the work of Israel. ⁵ And Yahweh does establish the kingdom in his hand, and all Judah give a present to Jehoshaphat, and he has riches and honor in abundance, ⁶ and his heart is high in the ways of Yahweh, and again he has turned aside the high places and the shrines out of Judah.

³ but good things have been found with you, for you have put away the shrines out of the land, and have prepared your heart to seek Elohim.. ⁴ And Jehoshaphat dwells in Jerusalem, and he turns back and goes out among the people from Beer-Sheba unto the hill-country of Ephraim, and brings them back unto Yahweh, Elohim of their fathers.

³ And Jehoshaphat fears, and sets his face to seek to Yahweh, and proclaims a fast over all Judah;" ⁴ and Judah is gathered to inquire of Yahweh; also, from all the cities of Judah they have come in to seek Yahweh. ⁵ And Jehoshaphat stands in the assembly of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of Yahweh, at the front of the new court, ⁶ and said, `O Yahweh, Elohim of our fathers, are not You--Elohim in the heavens? yea, You are ruling over all kingdoms of the nations, and in Your hand [is] power and might, and there is none with You to station himself. <sup>7</sup> `Are not You our Elohim? You have dispossessed the inhabitants of this land from before Your people Israel, and do give it to the seed of Abraham Your friend to the eon, ⁸ and they dwell in it, and build to You in it a sanctuary for Your name, saying, ⁹ If evil does come upon us--sword, judgment, and pestilence, and famine--we stand before this house, and before You, for Your name [is] in this house, and cry unto You out of our distress, and You do hear and save. ¹⁰ `And now, lo, sons of Ammon, and Moab, and mount Seir, whom You did not grant to Israel to go in against in their coming out of the land of Egypt, for they turned aside from off them and destroyed them not, <sup>11</sup> and lo, they are recompensing to us--to come in to drive us out of Your possession, that You have caused us to possess. <sup>12</sup> `O our Elohim, do You not execute judgment upon them? for there is no power in us before this great multitude that has come against us, and we know not what we do, but on You [are] our eyes.. ¹³ And all Judah are standing before Yahweh, also their infants, their wives, and their sons. ¹⁴ And upon Jahaziel, son of Zechariah, son of Benaiah, son of Jeiel, son of Mattaniah, the Levite, of the sons of Asaph, has the Spirit of Yahweh been, in the midst of the assembly, ¹⁵ and he said, `Attend, all Judah, and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and O king Jehoshaphat, Thus said Yahweh to you, You fear not, nor are afraid of the face of this great multitude, for not for you [is] the battle, but for Elohim. <sup>16</sup> To-morrow, go you down against them, lo, they are coming up by the ascent of Ziz, and you have found them in the end of the valley, the front of the wilderness of Jeruel. <sup>17</sup> Not for you to fight in this; station yourselves, stand, and see the salvation of Yahweh with you, O Judah and Jerusalem--be not afraid nor fear you--to-morrow go out before them, and Yahweh [is] with you.. <sup>18</sup> And Jehoshaphat bows--face to the earth--and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem have fallen before Yahweh, to bow themselves to Yahweh. <sup>19</sup> And the Levites, of the sons of the Kohathites, and of the sons of the Korhites, rise to give praise to Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, with a loud voice on high. <sup>20</sup> And they rise early in the morning, and go out to the wilderness of Tekoa, and in their going out Jehoshaphat has stood and said, `Hear me, O Judah, and inhabitants of Jerusalem, remain stedfast in Yahweh your Elohim, and be stedfast; remain stedfast in His prophets, and prosper.. ²¹ And he takes counsel with the people, and appoints singers to Yahweh, and those giving praise to the honor of holiness, in the going out before the armed [men], and saying, `Give you thanks to Yahweh, for to the eon [is] His kindness.. <sup>22</sup> And at the time they have begun with singing and praise, Yahweh has put ambushments against the sons of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, who are coming in to Judah, and they are smitten, <sup>23</sup> and the sons of Ammon stand up, and Moab, against the inhabitants of mount Seir, to devote and to destroy, and at their finishing with the inhabitants of Seir, they helped, a man against his neighbor, to destroy. <sup>24</sup> And Judah has come in unto the watch-tower, to the wilderness, and they look unto the multitude, and lo, they [are] carcases fallen to the earth, and there is none escaped, <sup>25</sup> and Jehoshaphat comes in, and his people, to seize their spoil, and they find among them, in abundance, both goods and carcases, and desirable vessels, and they take spoil to themselves without prohibition, and they are three days seizing the spoil, for it [is] abundant. <sup>26</sup> And on the fourth day they have been assembled at the valley of Blessing, for there they blessed Yahweh:therefore they have called the name of that place, `Valley of Blessing,' unto this day. ²⁷ And they turn back, every man of Judah and Jerusalem, and Jehoshaphat at their head, to go back unto Jerusalem with joy, for Yahweh has made them rejoice over their enemies. ²⁸ And they come in to Jerusalem with psalteries, and with harps, and with trumpets, unto the house of Yahweh. ²⁹ And there is a fear of Elohim on all kingdoms of the lands in their hearing that Yahweh has fought with the enemies of Israel, ³⁰ and the kingdom of Jehoshaphat is quiet, and his Elohim gives rest to him round about.

⁴ Happy is the master who makes Yahweh his trust And does not countenance the audacious Or those swerving to a lie.

³ I shall not set a worthless matter in front of my eyes; I hate the doing of those who swerve; It shall not cling to me.

⁵ As for those who turn aside to their tortuous ways, May Yahweh banish them with the contrivers of lawlessness. Peace be on Israel."

²⁷ Do not turn aside to the right or left; Take away your foot from evil.

⁶ and he walks in the way of the kings of Israel, as did the house of Ahab, for a daughter of Ahab has been to him for a wife, and he does the evil thing in the eyes of Yahweh,

¹⁴ Do not become diversely yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness? Or what communion has light with darkness?

⁴¹ And the rest of the matters of Solomon, and all that he did, and his wisdom, are they not written on the book of the matters of Solomon?

²⁹ And the rest of the matters of Rehoboam, and all that he did, are they not written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Judah?

³⁴ And the rest of the matters of Jehoshaphat, the first and the last, lo, they are written among the matters of Jehu son of Hanani, who has been mentioned on the book of the kings of Israel.

⁵ And calling are they to Lot, and saying to him, "Where are the mortals who came to you tonight? Bring them forth to us, and we will know them.

¹⁷ There shall come to be neither a cult-prostitute from the daughters of Israel, nor shall there come to be a cult-prostitute from the sons of Israel.

²² They are making their heart glad, and lo, men of the city, men--sons of worthlessness--have gone round about the house, beating on the door, and they speak unto the old man, the master of the house, saying, `Bring out the man who has come unto your house, and we know him..

²⁴ and also a whoremonger has been in the land; they have done according to all the abominations of the nations that Yahweh dispossessed from the presence of the sons of Israel.

¹² and removes the whoremongers out of the land, and turns aside all the idols that his fathers made;"

²⁶ Therefore God gives them over to dishonorable passions. For their females, besides, alter the natural use into that which is beside nature." ²⁷ Likewise also the males, besides, leaving the natural use of the female, were inflamed in their craving for one another, males with males effecting indecency, and getting back in themselves the retribution of their deception which must be."

⁹ Or are you not aware that the unjust shall not be enjoying the allotment of God's kingdom? Be not deceived. Neither paramours, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor catamites, nor sodomites,

¹⁰ paramours, sodomites, kidnapers, liars, perjurers, and if any other thing is opposing sound teaching,

⁷ As Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities about them in like manner to these committing ultra-prostitution, and coming away after other flesh, are lying before us, a specimen, experiencing the justice of fire eonian."

²³ And saying is Yahweh to her, "Two nations are in your belly, and two folkstems shall be parted from your bowels. And one folkstem shall be more resolute than the other folkstem. And the greater shall serve the inferior.

⁴⁰ And by your sword shall you live, and your brother shall you serve. Yet it comes, as you are caused to sway, you also break off his yoke off your neck.

³¹ And these are the kings who reigned in the land of Edom, before a king reigned for the sons of Israel. ³² And reigning in Edom is Bela, son of Beor. And the name of his city is Dinhabah. ³³ And Bela died. And reigning in his stead is Jobab, son of Zerah, from Bozrah. ³⁴ And Jobab died. And reigning in his stead is Husham from the land of the Temanites. ³⁵ And Husham died. And reigning in his stead is Hadad, son of Bedad who smote Midian in the field of Moab. And the name of his city is Avith. ³⁶ And Hadad died. And reigning in his stead is Samlah from Masrekah. ³⁷ And Samlah died. And reigning in his stead is Saul from Rehoboth by the stream. ³⁸ And Saul died. And reigning in his stead is Baalhanan, son of Achbor. ³⁹ And Baalhanan, son of Achbor, died. And reigning in his stead is Hadad, son of Bered. And the name of his city is Pau. And the name of his wife is Mehetabel, daughter of Matred, son of Mezahab. ⁴⁰ And these are the names of the sheiks of Esau, their families, for their places in their lands, by their names: sheik Timno, sheik Alvah, sheik Jetheth, ⁴¹ sheik Aholibamah, sheik Elah, sheik Pinon, ⁴² sheik Kenaz, sheik Teman, sheik Mibzar, ⁴³ sheik Magdiel, sheik Iram. These are the sheiks of Edom, for their dwelling places, in the land of their freehold. He is Esau, father of Edom.

¹⁴ and he puts in Edom garrisons--in all Edom he has put garrisons, and all Edom are servants to David; and Yahweh saves David whithersoever he has gone.

⁹ And the king of Israel goes, and the king of Judah, and the king of Edom, and they turn round the way seven days, and there has been no water for the camp, and for the cattle that [are] at their feet,

²⁰ In his days has Edom revolted from under the hand of Judah, and they cause a king to reign over them,

⁹ Moab is My washbasin; Unto Edom shall I fling My sandal; Over Philistia shall I shout in triumph. ¹⁰ Who shall escort me to the fortress city? Who will guide me unto Edom?

³⁵ They journeyed from Abronah and encamped at Ezion-geber. ³⁶ They journeyed from Ezion-geber and encamped in the wilderness of Zin. They journeyed from the wilderness of Zin and encamped in the wilderness of Paran; it is toward Kadesh.

²⁶ And a navy has king Solomon made in Ezion-Geber, that is beside Eloth, on the edge of the Sea of Suph, in the land of Edom.

²⁸ and they come in to Ophir and take thence gold, four hundred and twenty talents, and bring [it] in unto king Solomon.

²¹ for ships of the king are going to Tarshish, with servants of Huram:once in three years come do the ships of Tarshish bearing gold, and silver, ivory, apes, and peacocks.

²¹ And he takes counsel with the people, and appoints singers to Yahweh, and those giving praise to the honor of holiness, in the going out before the armed [men], and saying, `Give you thanks to Yahweh, for to the eon [is] His kindness..

³⁵ And after this has Jehoshaphat king of Judah joined himself with Ahaziah king of Israel, (he did wickedly in [so] doing), ³⁶ and he joins him with himself to make ships to go to Tarshish, and they make ships in Ezion-Geber, ³⁷ and prophesy does Eliezer son of Dodavah, of Mareshah, against Jehoshaphat, saying, `For your joining yourself with Ahaziah, Yahweh has broken up your works;' and the ships are broken, and have not retained [power] to go unto Tarshish.

⁷ and a man of Elohim has come in unto him, saying, `O king, the host of Israel does not go with you; for Yahweh is not with Israel--all the sons of Ephraim;"

⁹ Daughters of kings are among Your precious ones; The consort is stationed at Your right hand with certified gold of Ophir.

⁷ Like the east wind, Which broke up the ships of Tarshish."

¹⁶ and on all the ships of Tharshish, and on all the displays of coveted boats."

⁹ For to Me the boats of the coastlands are stretching, and the ships of Tharshish among the first, to bring your sons from afar, their silver and their gold with them, to the name of Yahweh, your Elohim, and to the Holy One of Israel, for He beautifies you."

³ Yet Jonah is rising to run away to Tharshish from before Yahweh, and is going down to Joppa. And he is finding a ship coming in for Tharshish. And he is giving its fare, and is going down into it to come with them to Tharshish, away from before Yahweh."

⁴³ and Solomon lies with his fathers, and is buried in the city of David his father, and reign does Rehoboam his son in his stead.

⁴⁰ And Ahab lies with his fathers, and Ahaziah his son reigns in his stead.

¹ And Jehoshaphat lies with his fathers, and is buried with his fathers in the city of David, and Jehoram his son reigns in his stead.

⁵ A son of thirty and two years [is] Jehoram in his reigning, and eight years he has reigned in Jerusalem, ⁶ and he walks in the way of the kings of Israel, as did the house of Ahab, for a daughter of Ahab has been to him for a wife, and he does the evil thing in the eyes of Yahweh, ⁷ and Yahweh has not been willing to destroy the house of David, for the sake of the covenant that He made with David, and as He had said to give to him a lamp, and to his sons--all the days.

²⁵ And Nadab son of Jeroboam has reigned over Israel, in the second year of Asa king of Judah, and he reigns over Israel two years,

²⁸ And the king takes counsel, and makes two calves of gold, and said unto them, `Enough to you of going up to Jerusalem; lo, your elohims, O Israel, which brought you up out of the land of Egypt.. ²⁹ And he sets the one in Beth-El, and the other he has put in Dan, ³⁰ and this thing becomes a sin, and the people go before the one--unto Dan. ³¹ And he makes the house of high places, and makes priests of the extremities of the people, who were not of the sons of Levi;" ³² and Jeroboam makes a festival in the eighth month, in the fifteenth day of the month, like the festival that [is] in Judah, and he offers on the altar--so did he in Beth-El--to sacrifice to the calves which he made, and he has appointed in Beth-El the priests of the high places that he made. ³³ And he offers up on the altar that he made in Beth-El, on the fifteenth day of the eighth month, in the month that he devised of his own heart, and he makes a festival to the sons of Israel, and offers on the altar--to make perfume.

⁹ and you do evil above all who have been before you, and go, and make to you other elohims and molten images to provoke Me to anger, and Me you have cast behind your back. ¹⁰ `Therefore, lo, I am bringing in evil unto the house of Jeroboam, and have cut off to Jeroboam those sitting on the wall--shut up and left--in Israel, and have put away the posterity of the house of Jeroboam, as one puts away the dung till its consumption;" <sup>11</sup> him who dies of Jeroboam in a city do the dogs eat, and him who dies in a field do fowl of the heavens eat, for Yahweh has spoken. <sup>12</sup> `And you, rise, go to your house; in the going in of your feet to the city--has the lad died;" ¹³ and all Israel have mourned for him, and buried him, for this one--by himself--comes of Jeroboam unto a grave, because there has been found in him a good thing towards Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, in the house of Jeroboam. ¹⁴ `And Yahweh has raised up for Him a king over Israel who cuts off the house of Jeroboam this day--and what? --even now! ¹⁵ And Yahweh has smitten Israel as the reed is moved by the waters, and has plucked Israel from off this good ground that He gave to their fathers, and scattered them beyond the River, because that they made their shrines, provoking Yahweh to anger;" ¹⁶ and He gives up Israel because of the sins of Jeroboam that he sinned, and that he caused Israel to sin..

²⁶ and does the evil thing in the eyes of Yahweh, and goes in the way of his father, and in his sin that he made Israel to sin.

³⁴ and he does the evil thing in the eyes of Yahweh, and walks in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin that he caused Israel to sin.

³⁰ and Ahab son of Omri does the evil thing in the eyes of Yahweh above all who [are] before him. ³¹ And it comes to pass--has it been light his walking in the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat? --then he takes a wife, Jezebel daughter of Ethbaal, king of the Zidonians, and goes and serves Baal, and bows himself to it, ³² and raises up an altar for Baal, in the house of the Baal, that he built in Samaria;" ³³ and Ahab makes the shrine, and Ahab adds to do so as to provoke Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, above all the kings of Israel who have been before him.

²⁵ surely there has none been like Ahab, who sold himself to do the evil thing in the eyes of Yahweh, whom Jezebel his wife has moved,

² and Ahaziah falls through the lattice in his upper chamber that [is] in Samaria, and is sick, and sends messengers, and said unto them, `Go you, inquire of Baal-Zebub elohim of Ekron if I recover from this sickness.. <sup>3</sup> And a messenger of Yahweh has spoken unto Elijah the Tishbite, `Rise, go up to meet the messengers of the king of Samaria, and speak unto them, Is it because there is not an Elohim in Israel--you are going to inquire of Baal Zebub elohim of Ekron? ⁴ and therefore, thus said Yahweh, The bed whither you have gone up, you do not come down from it, for you do certainly die;' and Elijah goes on. ⁵ And the messengers turn back unto him, and he said unto them, `What [is] this--you have turned back!. <sup>6</sup> And they say unto him, `A man has come up to meet us, and said unto us, Go, turn back unto the king who sent you, and you have said unto him, Thus said Yahweh, Is it because there is not an Elohim in Israel--you are sending to inquire of Baal-Zebub elohim of Ekron? therefore, the bed whither you have gone up, you do not come down from it, for you do certainly die.. ⁷ And he said unto them, `What [is] the fashion of the man who has come up to meet you, and speaks unto you these words?.

³ only to the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat that he caused Israel to sin he has cleaved, he has not turned aside from it.

²⁷ and he walks in the way of the house of Ahab, and does the evil thing in the eyes of Yahweh, like the house of Ahab, for he [is] son-in-law of the house of Ahab.

³ he also has walked in the ways of the house of Ahab, for his mother has been his counsellor to do wickedly.

²⁴ And, coming out, she said to her mother, "What should I be requesting?Now she said, "The head of John the baptist."

²⁰ Lo! I stand at the door and am knocking. If ever anyone should be hearing My voice and opening the door, I will also be coming in to him and dining with him, and he with Me. "

¹ And a messenger of Yahweh goes up from Gilgal unto Bochim, ² and said, `I cause you to come up out of Egypt, and bring you in unto the land which I have sworn to your fathers, and say, I do not break My covenant with you to the eon; and you--you make no covenant with the inhabitants of this land--their altars you break down; and you have not hearkened to My voice--what [is] this you have done? ³ And I also have said, I do not cast them out from your presence, and they have been to you for adversaries, and their elohims are to you for a snare.. ⁴ And it comes to pass, when the messenger of Yahweh speaks these words unto all the sons of Israel, that the people lift up their voice and weep, ⁵ and they call the name of that place Bochim, and sacrifice there to Yahweh. ⁶ And Joshua sends the people away, and the sons of Israel go, each to his inheritance, to possess the land;" ⁷ and the people serve Yahweh all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders who prolonged days after Joshua, who saw all the great work of Yahweh which He did to Israel. ⁸ And Joshua son of Nun, servant of Yahweh, dies, a son of a hundred and ten years, ⁹ and they bury him in the border of his inheritance, in Timnath-Heres, in the hill-country of Ephraim, on the north of mount Gaash;" ¹⁰ and also all that generation have been gathered unto their fathers, and another generation rises after them who have not known Yahweh, and even the work which He has done to Israel. ¹¹ And the sons of Israel do the evil thing in the eyes of Yahweh, and serve the Baalim,

⁷ And also by the hand of Jehu son of Hanani the prophet a word of Yahweh has been concerning Baasha, and concerning his house, and concerning all the evil that he did in the eyes of Yahweh to provoke Him to anger with the work of his hands, to be like the house of Jeroboam, and concerning that for which he smote him.

²⁹ `Have you seen that Ahab has been humbled before Me? because that he has been humbled before Me, I bring not in the evil in his days; in the days of his son I bring in the evil on his house..

² and does the evil thing in the eyes of Yahweh, only not like his father, and like his mother, and he turns aside the standing-pillar of Baal that his father made;"

²⁹ They provoked Him to vexation with their actions, So that a stroke breached forth among them."

³ the people who are vexing Me to My face continually, they who are sacrificing in gardens, and fuming incense on bricks to demons,

³ And He puts forth a form of a hand, and takes me by a lock of my head, and lift me up does a spirit between the earth and the heavens, and it brings me in to Jerusalem in visions of Elohim, unto the opening of the inner gate that is facing the north, where [is] the seat of the figure of jealousy that is making jealous,

¹⁴ And--lo, he has begotten a son, And he sees all the sins of his father, That he has done, and he fears, And does not do like them, ¹⁵ On the mountains he has not eaten, And his eyes he has not lifted up Unto idols of the house of Israel, The wife of his neighbor he has not defiled, ¹⁶ A man--he has not oppressed, A pledge he has not bound, And plunder he has not taken away, His bread to the hungry he has given, And the naked he covered with a garment, ¹⁷ From the afflicted he has turned back his hand, Usury and increase he has not taken, My judgments he has done, In My statutes he has walked, He does not die for the iniquity of his father, He does surely live." ¹⁸ His father--because he used oppression, Did violently Plunder a brother, And that which [is] not good did in the midst of his people, And lo, he is dying in his iniquity."
