¹ And they declare to David, saying, `Lo, the Philistines are fighting against Keilah, and they are spoiling the threshing-floors.. <sup>2</sup> And David asks at Yahweh, saying, `Do I go? --and have I smitten among these Philistines?' And Yahweh said unto David, `Go, and you have smitten among the Philistines, and saved Keilah.. <sup>3</sup> And David's men say unto him, `Lo, we here in Judah are afraid; and how much more when we go to Keilah, unto the ranks of the Philistines?. ⁴ And David adds again to ask at Yahweh, and Yahweh answers him, and said, `Rise, go down to Keilah, for I am giving the Philistines into your hand.. <sup>5</sup> And David goes, and his men, to Keilah, and fights with the Philistines, and leads away their cattle, and smites among them--a great smiting, and David saves the inhabitants of Keilah. <sup>6</sup> And it comes to pass, in the fleeing of Abiathar son of Ahimelech unto David, to Keilah, an ephod came down in his hand. <sup>7</sup> And it is declared to Saul that David has come in to Keilah, and Saul said, `Elohim has made him known for my hand, for he has been shut in, to enter into a city of doors and bar.. ⁸ And Saul summons the whole of the people to battle, to go down to Keilah, to lay siege unto David and unto his men. ⁹ And David knows that against him Saul is devising the evil, and said unto Abiathar the priest, `Bring nigh the ephod.. <sup>10</sup> And David said, `Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, Your servant has certainly heard that Saul is seeking to come in unto Keilah, to destroy the city on mine account. ¹¹ Do the possessors of Keilah shut me up into his hand? does Saul come down as Your servant has heard? Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, declare, I pray You, to Your servant.' And Yahweh said, `He does come down.. <sup>12</sup> And David said, `Do the possessors of Keilah shut me up, and my men, into the hand of Saul?' And Yahweh said, `They shut [you] up.. <sup>13</sup> And David rises--and his men--about six hundred men, and they go out from Keilah, and go up and down where they go up and down; and to Saul it has been declared that David has escaped from Keilah, and he ceases to go out. <sup>14</sup> And David abides in the wilderness, in fortresses, and abides in the hill-country, in the wilderness of Ziph; and Saul seeks him all the days, and Elohim has not given him into his hand. <sup>15</sup> And David sees that Saul has come out to seek his life, and David [is] in the wilderness of Ziph, in a forest. <sup>16</sup> And Jonathan son of Saul rises, and goes unto David to the forest, and strengthens his hand in Elohim, <sup>17</sup> and said unto him, `Fear not, for the hand of Saul my father does not find you, and you do reign over Israel, and I am to you for second, and also so knows Saul my father.. ¹⁸ And they make a covenant both of them before Yahweh; and David abides in the forest, and Jonathan has gone to his house. ¹⁹ And the Ziphites go up unto Saul to Gibeah, saying, `Is not David hiding himself with us in fortresses, in the forest, in the height of Hachilah, which [is] on the south of the desolate place? <sup>20</sup> And, now, by all the desire of your soul, O king, to come down, come down, and ours [is] to shut him up into the hand of the king.. <sup>21</sup> And Saul said, `Blessed [are] you of Yahweh, for you have pity on me;" ²² go, I pray you, prepare yet, and know and see his place where his foot is; who has seen him there? for [one] has said unto me, He is very subtile. ²³ And see and know of all the hiding-places where he hides himself, and you have turned back unto me prepared, and I have gone with you, and it has been, if he is in the land, that I have searched him out through all the thousands of Judah.. ²⁴ And they rise and go to Ziph before Saul, and David and his men [are] in the wilderness of Maon, in the plain, at the south of the desolate place. ²⁵ And Saul and his men go to seek, and they declare to David, and he goes down the rock, and abides in the wilderness of Maon; and Saul hears, and pursues after David [to] the wilderness of Maon. ²⁶ And Saul goes on this side of the mountain, and David and his men on that side of the mountain, and David is hastened to go from the face of Saul, and Saul and his men are compassing David and his men, to catch them. ²⁷ And a messenger has come in unto Saul, saying, `Haste, and come, for the Philistines have pushed against the land.. <sup>28</sup> And Saul turns back from pursuing after David, and goes to meet the Philistines, therefore they have called that place `The Rock of Divisions.. ²⁹ And David goes up thence, and abides in fortresses [at] En-gedi.

¹⁶ indeed, I Myself shall do this to you:I will visit panic upon you, attenuation and fever, making the eyesight vanish and causing the soul to pine; and you will sow your seed for naught, for your enemies will eat it.

³³ A people you do not know shall devour the fruit of your ground and all your labor, and you will surely be extorted and bruised all the days,

⁵¹ It will devour the fruit of your beast and the fruit of your ground until you are exterminated, a nation who shall not let grain, grape juice or clarified oil, the calving of your domestic animals or the lambing of your flock remain for you, until it destroys you.

⁴⁴ and Keilah, and Achzib, and Mareshah; nine cities and their villages.

⁴ and encamp against them, and destroy the increase of the land till your entering Gaza; and they leave no sustenance in Israel, either sheep, or ox, or ass;"

¹¹ And the messenger of Yahweh comes and sits under the oak which [is] in Ophrah, which [is] to Joash the Abi-Ezrite, and Gideon his son is beating out wheat in the wine-press, to remove [it] from the presence of the Midianites;"

¹⁷ After him have the Levites strengthened, [and] Rehum son of Bani:by his hand has Hashabiah, head of the half of the district of Keilah, strengthened, for his district. ¹⁸ After him have their brethren strengthened, [and] Bavvai son of Henadad, head of the half of the district of Keilah.

¹⁵ You shall sow, yet not reap. You shall tread olives, yet not rub with oil, and grape juice, yet you shall not drink wine."

²¹ And before Eleazar the priest shall he stand, and he will ask for him the judgment of the Urim before Yahweh. At his bidding shall they go forth and at his bidding they shall enter, he and all the sons of Israel with him, the whole congregation.

¹⁴ And the men take of their provision, and the mouth of Yahweh have not asked;"

¹ And it comes to pass, after the death of Joshua, that the sons of Israel ask at Yahweh, saying, `Who does go up for us unto the Canaanite, at the commencement, to fight against it?.

⁴ And David adds again to ask at Yahweh, and Yahweh answers him, and said, `Rise, go down to Keilah, for I am giving the Philistines into your hand..

⁶ And it comes to pass, in the fleeing of Abiathar son of Ahimelech unto David, to Keilah, an ephod came down in his hand.

⁹ And David knows that against him Saul is devising the evil, and said unto Abiathar the priest, `Bring nigh the ephod.. <sup>10</sup> And David said, `Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, Your servant has certainly heard that Saul is seeking to come in unto Keilah, to destroy the city on mine account. ¹¹ Do the possessors of Keilah shut me up into his hand? does Saul come down as Your servant has heard? ⁸ and David asks at Yahweh, saying, `I pursue after this troop--do I overtake it?' And He said to him, `Pursue, for you do certainly overtake, and do certainly deliver..

¹⁹ And David asks of Yahweh, saying, `Do I go up unto the Philistines? do You give them into my hand?' And Yahweh said unto David, `Go up, for I certainly give the Philistines into your hand..

²³ and David asks of Yahweh, and He said, `You do not go up, turn round unto their rear, and you have come to them over-against the mulberries,

¹⁰ and David asks of Elohim, saying, `Do I go up against the Philistines--and have You given them into my hand?' And Yahweh said to him, `Go up, and I have given them into your hand..

⁸ You said, I shall make you contemplate, And direct you in the way that you should go; I will give counsel with My eye upon you."

⁵ Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, And do not lean to your own understanding." ⁶ In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He Himself shall straighten your paths."

²³ I have known, O Yahweh, that not of man [is] his way, Not of man the going and establishing of his step."

¹⁵ And David sees that Saul has come out to seek his life, and David [is] in the wilderness of Ziph, in a forest.

²³ And see and know of all the hiding-places where he hides himself, and you have turned back unto me prepared, and I have gone with you, and it has been, if he is in the land, that I have searched him out through all the thousands of Judah..

²⁶ And Saul goes on this side of the mountain, and David and his men on that side of the mountain, and David is hastened to go from the face of Saul, and Saul and his men are compassing David and his men, to catch them.

¹ {A Davidic Psalm{ In Yahweh I take refuge; How are you saying to my soul, Soar like a bird to the mountain?

⁵ For--with footmen you have run, And they weary you, And how do you fret yourself with horses! Even in the land of peace, [In which] you are confident--And how do you in the rising of Jordan!"

⁷ and you rise from the ambush, and have occupied the city, and Yahweh your Elohim has given it into your hand;"

³⁹ And Gideon said unto Elohim, `Let not Your anger burn against me, and I speak only this time; let me try, I pray You, only this time with the fleece--let there be, I pray You, drought on the fleece alone, and on all the earth let there be dew..

⁷ And Yahweh said unto Gideon, `By the three hundred men who are lapping I save you, and have given Midian into your hand, and all the people go, each to his place..

⁶ and Saul asks at Yahweh, and Yahweh has not answered him, either by dreams, or by Urim, or by prophets.

¹⁸ `And this has been light in the eyes of Yahweh, and he has given Moab into your hand,

³⁰ You will put the Urim and the Thummim into the breastplate of judgment, and they will come to be on Aaron's heart when he enters before Yahweh. Thus Aaron will bear the judgment of the sons of Israel on his heart before Yahweh continually. ³¹ You will make the robe of the vestment wholly of blue;

³ and Ahiah, son of Ahitub, brother of I-Chabod, son of Phinehas son of Eli priest of Yahweh in Shiloh, bearing an ephod; and the people knew not that Jonathan has gone.

¹⁸ And Saul said to Ahiah, `Bring nigh the ark of Elohim;' for the ark of Elohim has been on that day with the sons of Israel.

³⁶ And Saul said, `Let us go down after the Philistines by night, and we prey upon them till the light of the morning, and leave not a man of them.' And they say, `All that is good in your eyes do.' And the priest said, `Let us draw near hither unto Elohim.. <sup>37</sup> And Saul asks of Elohim, `Do I go down after the Philistines? do You give them into the hand of Israel?' and He has not answered him on that day.

²⁰ And there escapes one son of Ahimelech, son of Ahitub, and his name [is] Abiathar, and he flees after David,

³ So Pharaoh will say of the sons of Israel: They are perplexed in the land; the wilderness has closed in on them.

⁹ The enemy said: I shall pursue! I shall overtake! I shall apportion the loot! My soul's desire shall be fulfilled on them! I shall unsheathe my sword! My hand shall evict them!

² [it is told] to the Gazathites, saying, `Samson has come in hither;' and they go round and lay wait for him all the night at the gate of the city, and keep themselves silent all the night, saying, `Till the light of the morning--then we have slain him.. ³ And Samson lies down till the middle of the night, and rises in the middle of the night, and lays hold on the doors of the gate of the city, and on the two side posts, and removes them with the bar, and puts on his shoulders, and takes them up unto the top of the hill, which [is] on the front of Hebron.

¹⁴ And David abides in the wilderness, in fortresses, and abides in the hill-country, in the wilderness of Ziph; and Saul seeks him all the days, and Elohim has not given him into his hand.

⁴ And the men of David say unto him, `Lo, the day of which Yahweh said unto you, Lo, I am giving your enemy into your hand, and you have done to him as it is good in your eyes;' and David rises and cuts off the skirt of the upper robe which [is] on Saul--gently. <sup>5</sup> And it comes to pass afterwards that the heart of David smites him, because that he has cut off the skirt which [is] on Saul, <sup>6</sup> and he said to his men, `Far be it from me, by Yahweh; I do not do this thing to my lord--to the anointed of Yahweh--to put forth my hand against him, for the anointed of Yahweh he [is]..

⁸ And Abishai said unto David, `Elohim has shut up to-day your enemy into your hand; and, now, let me smite him, I pray you, with a spear, even into the earth at once--and I do repeat [it] to him.. <sup>9</sup> And David said unto Abishai, `Destroy him not; for who has put forth his hand against the anointed of Yahweh, and been acquitted?.

⁵ That the jubilation of the wicked is brief, And the rejoicing of the polluted lasts but a moment?

¹⁰ For my enemies commune against me, And those keeping watch against my soul intrigue together, ¹¹ Saying, Elohim Himself has forsaken him; Pursue and grasp him, for there is no rescuer."

⁴³ for the days will be arriving on you, and your enemies will be casting up a rampart about you, and will be surrounding you, and will be pressing you everywhere, ⁴⁴ and will be leveling you and your children in you, and they will not be leaving a stone on a stone in you, because you knew not the era of your visitation."

⁷ And David said unto Abiathar the priest, son of Ahimelech, `Bring nigh, I pray you, to me the ephod;' and Abiathar brings nigh the ephod unto David,

¹⁸ And, O Yahweh, cause me to know, and I know, Then You have showed me their doings." ¹⁹ And I [am] as a trained lamb brought to slaughter, And I have not known That against me they have devised devices:We destroy the tree with its food, and cut him off From the land of the living, And his name is not remembered again."

³ Call unto Me, and I do answer you, yea, I declare to you great and fenced things--you have not known them."

²⁴ Yet known to Saul is their plot. Now they scrutinized the gates also, both by day and by night, so that they may be assassinating him."

⁶ being conscious of it, they fled for refuge into the cities of Lycaonia: Lystra and Derbe, and the country about."

¹⁶ Now the son of Paul's sister, hearing of the ambush, coming along and entering into the citadel, reports it to Paul." ¹⁷ Now Paul, calling one of the centurions to him, averred, "Lead this young man away to the captain, for he has something to report to him." ¹⁸ He, indeed, then, taking him along, led him to the captain, and is averring, "The prisoner, Paul, calling me to him, asks me to lead this youth to you, who has something to speak to you."

²⁴ Perhaps, forsooth, fifty righteous are there in the midst of the city. Indeed, sweeping them up are You and not bearing with the entire place on account of the fifty righteous who are within it?

¹⁹ and Nob, the city of the priests, he has smitten by the mouth of the sword, from man even unto woman, from infant even unto suckling, and ox, and ass, and sheep, by the mouth of the sword.

⁸ And Saul summons the whole of the people to battle, to go down to Keilah, to lay siege unto David and unto his men.

⁶ But it was despicable in his eyes to lay hand on Mordecai alone (for they had told him about Mordecai's people); so Haman sought out to exterminate all the Jews, Mordecai's people, who were in the entire kingdom of Xerxes.

¹⁵ A growling lion and a prowling bear--Such is a wicked ruler over a poor people.

¹⁵ Sharp are their feet to shed blood. ¹⁶ Bruises and wretchedness are in their ways,

¹⁵ And call upon Me in the day of distress; I shall liberate you, and you shall glorify Me."

⁷ Request and it shall be given you. Seek and you shall find. Knock and it shall be opened to you." ⁸ For everyone who is requesting is obtaining, and who is seeking is finding, and to him who is knocking it shall be opened."

⁷ And it is declared to Saul that David has come in to Keilah, and Saul said, `Elohim has made him known for my hand, for he has been shut in, to enter into a city of doors and bar..

²⁰ And, now, by all the desire of your soul, O king, to come down, come down, and ours [is] to shut him up into the hand of the king..

⁸ And You have not locked me up into the hand of the enemy; You have made my feet stand in a wide place.

¹ {A Davidic Psalm{ Only in Elohim is my soul stilled; From Him comes my salvation.

⁸ It is better to take refuge in Yahweh Than to trust in a human.

¹⁴ There was a small city with only a few mortals in it, And a great king came against it and surrounded it, And he built great siege works against it." ¹⁵ Now a man was available in it, provident and wise, And he would have provided escape for the city by his wisdom, Yet not one person remembered that provident man."

¹⁵ Woe to those digging deep, to conceal counsel from Yahweh, and it comes that their doings are in darkness. And saying are they, `Who sees us?' And `Who knows us?'"

¹³ And there is not a creature which is not apparent in its sight. Now all is naked and bare to the eyes of Him to Whom we are accountable.

² and gather themselves unto him do every man in distress, and every man who has an exactor, and every man bitter in soul, and he is over them for head, and there are with him about four hundred men.

¹³ And David said to his men, `Gird you on each his sword;' and they gird on each his sword, and David also girds on his sword, and there go up after David about four hundred men, and two hundred have remained by the vessels.

⁹ And David goes on, he and six hundred men who [are] with him, and they come in unto the brook of Besor, and those left have stood still, ¹⁰ and David pursues, he and four hundred men, (and two hundred men stand still who have been too faint to pass over the brook of Besor),

²⁰ Yesterday [is] your coming in, and to-day I move you to go with us, and I am going on that which I am going! --turn back, and take back your brethren with you, --kindness and truth..

²⁴ Ziph, and Telem, and Bealoth,

⁵⁵ Maon, Carmel, and Ziph, and Juttah,

¹ And David said unto his heart, `Now am I consumed one day by the hand of Saul; there is nothing for me better than that I diligently escape unto the land of the Philistines, and Saul has been despairing of me--of seeking me any more in all the border of Israel, and I have escaped out of his hand..

¹ {A Davidic Psalm{ In Yahweh I take refuge; How are you saying to my soul, Soar like a bird to the mountain? ² For behold, the wicked are positioning the bow; They make their arrow ready on the cord, To shoot in the gloom at the upright of heart. ³ When the settled things are being pulled down, The righteous one--what can he effect?

⁷ You are a concealment for me; From distress shall You preserve me, With jubilant songs of deliverance shall You surround me. {Interlude{ "

³² The wicked is watching for the righteous one And is seeking to put him to death. ³³ Yahweh, He shall not forsake him to his hand, And He shall not let him be condemned when he is judged."

³ For aliens, they rise against me, And terrifiers, they seek my soul; They do not set Elohim in front of them. {Interlude{ " ⁴ Behold, Elohim is my Helper; Yahweh is the Grand Supporter of my soul."

¹⁶ For their feet run to evil, And they hasten to shed blood."

¹⁶ For they cannot sleep until they assuredly do evil, And their sleep is snatched away if they have not caused someone to stumble."

³⁰ There is no wisdom, there is no comprehension, And there is no counsel in confronting Yahweh."

²⁶ And the king commands Jerahmeel son of Hammelek, and Seraiah son of Azriel, and Shelemiah son of Abdeel, to take Baruch the scribe, and Jeremiah the prophet, and Yahweh does hide them."

³¹ What then, shall we declare to these things? If God is for us, who is against us?

¹¹ persecutions, sufferings, such as occurred to me in Antioch, in Iconium, in Lystra: persecutions such as I undergo, and out of them all the Lord rescues me."

¹⁷ May it not be reckoned against them! Yet the Lord stood beside me, and He invigorates me, that through me the heralding may be fully discharged, and all the nations should hear; and I am rescued out of the mouth of the lion." ¹⁸ The Lord will be rescuing me from every wicked work and will be saving me for His celestial kingdom: to Whom be glory for the eons of the eons. Amen!

²⁸ Yet instruct Joshua and encourage him and make him resolute, for he shall cross over before this people, and he shall allot to them the land that you shall see.

⁶ and David has great distress, for the people have said to stone him, for the soul of all the people has been bitter, each for his sons and for his daughters; and David does strengthen himself in Yahweh his Elohim.

¹⁸ And I declare to them the hand of my Elohim that is good upon me, and also the words of the king that he said to me, and they say, `Let us rise, and we have built;' and they strengthen their hands for good.

³ Behold, you have disciplined many, And you always fortified the slacking hands. ⁴ Your declarations raised the one stumbling, And you made the bowing knees resolute.

⁵ I could make you resolute with my mouth, And the condolence of my lips would keep back grief.

⁹ Oil and incense rejoice the heart, And the sweetness of one's associate stems from the counsel of his soul."

¹⁷ As iron sharpens iron, So a man sharpens the acumen of his associate."

⁹ Two are better than one Because there is better hire for them in their toil; ¹⁰ For if they fall, one can raise up his partner; But woe to him, the one who falls when there is no second person to raise him up." ¹¹ Also, if two lie down together it is warm for them, Yet for one, how can he keep warm? ¹² And if somebody can overpower him who is single, Then two can stand firm in front of him who attacks. A threefold thread cannot quickly be pulled apart."

³ Make steadfast the hands that are slack, and the faltering knees make resolute." ⁴ Say to the hasty of heart:"Be steadfast! You must not fear! Behold! Your Elohim with vengeance shall come, and with the requital of Elohim shall He come and save you."

²² Because of paining the heart of the righteous with falsehood, And I have not pained it, And strengthening the hands of the wicked, So as not to turn back from his evil way, To keep him alive,

³² Yet I besought concerning you, that your faith may not be defaulting. And once you turn back, establish your brethren."

⁴³ Now a messenger from heaven was seen by Him, strengthening Him."

¹⁰ For the rest, brethren mine, be invigorated in the Lord and in the might of His strength."

¹ You, then, child of mine, be invigorated by the grace which is in Christ Jesus."

¹² Wherefore stiffen the flaccid hands and the paralyzed knees, ¹³ and make upright tracks for your feet, that the lame one may not turn aside, yet rather may be healed."

³¹ for all the days that the son of Jesse lives on the ground you are not established, you and your kingdom; and now, send and bring him unto me, for he [is] a son of death..

²⁰ `And, now, lo, I have known that you do certainly reign, and the kingdom of Israel has stood in your hand;"

¹¹ In order to set the lowly on high, And so the somber may become impregnable in safety, ¹² He is annulling the devisings of the crafty, So that their hands may not achieve prosperity, ¹³ Seizing the wise in their craftiness, So that their cunning counsel is carried headlong. ¹⁴ By day they encounter darkness, And as in the night, they grope at noon. ¹⁵ He saves the deserted from their mouth And the needy from the hand of the unyielding.

¹ {Davidic{ Yahweh is my Light and my Salvation; Whom should I fear? Yahweh is the Stronghold of my life; Of whom should I be afraid? ² When evildoers drew near against me To devour my flesh, They who were to me my foes and my enemies, They stumbled and fell." ³ Though an armed force should encamp against me, My heart shall not fear; Though war should rise up against me, In spite of this I am trusting."

¹ {For the Sons of Korah{ {Concerning the Eons{ {A Song{ Elohim is our Refuge and Strength, A very providing Help in distresses." ² Therefore, we shall not fear when the earth is made to change, Or when the mountains slide into the heart of the seas."

¹ He who is dwelling in the concealment of the Supreme Shall lodge in the shadow of Him Who-Suffices. ² I shall say of Yahweh:My Refuge and my Fastness, My Elohim, in Whom I trust."

²⁶ In the fear of Yahweh lies a strong ground of trust, And it shall become a refuge for his sons."

²¹ Many are the designs in a man's heart, Yet the counsel of Yahweh, it shall stand firm."

¹⁰ You must not fear, for I am with you, and you must not take heed for yourself, for I am your Elohim. I make you resolute; indeed, I help you. Indeed, I uphold you with the right hand of My righteousness.'"

¹⁴ You must not fear, worm Jacob, and death-doomed of Israel, I, I help you,'averring is Yahweh, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel."

¹⁷ Any implement formed against you shall not prosper, and any tongue which rises against you for judgment you shall condemn. This is the allotment of the servants of Yahweh, and their righteousness is from Me,averring is Yahweh."

³² Do not fear, little flocklet, for it delights your Father to give you the kingdom."

³⁹ yet if it is of God, you will not be able to demolish them - lest at some time you may be found fighters against God also."

¹⁶ Now when we entered Rome, Paul was permitted to remain by himself together with the soldier who guarded him."

²⁴ as ever I may be going into Spain (for I am expecting, while going through, to gaze upon you, and by you to be sent forward there, if I should ever first be filled, in part, by you) -"

⁶ So that we have courage to say, "The Lord is my Helper, and I shall not be afraid of what man shall be doing to me!"

³ And Jonathan makes--also David--a covenant, because he loves him as his own soul,

¹² And Jonathan said unto David, `Yahweh, Elohim of Israel--when I search my father, about [this] time to-morrow [or] the third [day], and lo, good [is] towards David, and I do not then send unto you, and have uncovered your ear-. ¹³ thus does Yahweh do to Jonathan, and thus does He add; when the evil concerning you is good to my father, then I have uncovered your ear, and sent you away, and you have gone in peace, and Yahweh is with you, as he was with my father;" ¹⁴ and not only while I am alive do you do with me the kindness of Yahweh, and I die not, ¹⁵ but you do not cut off your kindness from my house unto the eon, nor in Yahweh's cutting off the enemies of David, each one from off the face of the ground.. ¹⁶ And Jonathan covenants with the house of David, and Yahweh has sought [it] from the hand of the enemies of David;" ¹⁷ and Jonathan adds to cause David to swear, because he loves him, for with the love of his own soul he has loved him.

⁴² and Jonathan said to David, `Go in peace, in that we have sworn--we two--in the name of Yahweh, saying, Yahweh is between me and you, and between my seed and your seed--unto the eon;' and he rises and goes; and Jonathan has gone in to the city.

¹ And David said, `Is there yet any left to the house of Saul, and I do with him kindness because of Jonathan?.

⁷ and the king has pity on Mephibosheth son of Jonathan, son of Saul, because of the oath of Yahweh that [is] between them, between David and Jonathan son of Saul;"

⁷ And Saul said to his servants who are standing by him, `Hear, I pray you, you Benjamites; also to all of you does the son of Jesse give fields and vineyards! all of you he does appoint heads of thousands and heads of hundreds!" ⁸ for you have conspired all of you against me, and there is none uncovering mine ear about my son's covenanting with the son of Jesse, and there is none of you grieving for me, and uncovering mine ear, that my son has raised up my servant against me, to lie in wait as [at] this day..

¹ And the Ziphites come in unto Saul, at Gibeah, saying, `Is not David hiding himself in the height of Hachilah, on the front of the desert?.

³ And Saul encamps in the height of Hachilah, which [is] on the front of the desert, by the way, and David is abiding in the wilderness, and he sees that Saul has come after him in to the wilderness;"

¹ {Contemplating, Davidic{ {When the Ziphites came and said to Saul, Is not David concealing himself among us?{ O Elohim, save me by Your Name, And adjudicate me by Your mastery." ² O Elohim, hear my prayer; Do give ear to the sayings of my mouth." ³ For aliens, they rise against me, And terrifiers, they seek my soul; They do not set Elohim in front of them. {Interlude{ " ⁴ Behold, Elohim is my Helper; Yahweh is the Grand Supporter of my soul." ⁵ Let evil turn back against those who lie in wait for me; By Your truth efface them. ⁶ With a volunteer offering will I sacrifice to You; I shall acclaim Your Name, O Yahweh, for it is good." ⁷ For He rescues me from all distress, And my eye sees the fate of my enemies. {Permanent, With Accompaniments{ "

¹² If a ruler attends to the word of falsehood, All his ministers will be wicked."

⁶ In case a Levite should come from one of your gates, from anywhere in Israel where he sojourned, he may come with all the yearning of his soul to the place that Yahweh shall choose;"

¹² And David said, `Do the possessors of Keilah shut me up, and my men, into the hand of Saul?' And Yahweh said, `They shut [you] up..

²¹ And Abner said unto David, `I arise, and go, and gather unto my lord the king the whole of Israel, and they make with you a covenant, and you have reigned over all that your soul desires;' and David sends away Abner, and he goes in peace.

¹¹ And the men of his city, the elders and the freemen who are dwelling in his city, do as Jezebel has sent unto them, as written in the letters that she sent unto them, ¹² they have proclaimed a fast, and caused Naboth to sit at the head of the people, ¹³ and two men--sons of worthlessness--come in, and sit over-against him, and the men of worthlessness testify of him, even Naboth, before the people, saying, `Naboth blessed Elohim and Melech;' and they take him out to the outside of the city, and stone him with stones, and he dies;" <sup>14</sup> and they send unto Jezebel, saying, `Naboth was stoned, and is dead..

⁵ And he who [is] over the house, and he who [is] over the city, and the elders, and the supporters, send unto Jehu, saying, `Your servants we [are], and all that you say unto us we do; we do not make any one king--that which [is] good in your eyes do.. <sup>6</sup> And he writes unto them a letter a second time, saying, `If you [are] for me, and to my voice are hearkening, take the heads of the men--the sons of your lord, and come unto me about this time to-morrow, to Jezreel;' and the sons of the king [are] seventy men, with the great ones of the city those bringing them up. ⁷ And it comes to pass, at the coming in of the letter unto them, that they take the sons of the king, and slaughter seventy men, and put their heads in baskets, and send unto him to Jezreel,

³ For aliens, they rise against me, And terrifiers, they seek my soul; They do not set Elohim in front of them. {Interlude{ "

¹⁰ The wicked one, he shall see and be vexed; He shall gnash his teeth and melt away. The yearning of the wicked shall perish."

²³ The yearning of the righteous ends only in good, The expectation of the wicked in rage."

²⁶ Many seek the presence of a ruler, Yet a man's right judgment is from Yahweh."

² and he said to his mother, `The eleven hundred silverlings which have been taken of your, and [of which] you have sworn, and also spoken in mine ears; lo, the silver [is] with me, I have taken it;' and his mother said, `Blessed [is] my son of Yahweh..

⁸ for you have conspired all of you against me, and there is none uncovering mine ear about my son's covenanting with the son of Jesse, and there is none of you grieving for me, and uncovering mine ear, that my son has raised up my servant against me, to lie in wait as [at] this day..

³ For the wicked one boasts over the lusting of his soul, And the greedy one scorns, Yea, he spurns Yahweh.

⁵ Hear the word of Yahweh, you who tremble at His word, "Say do your brethren, who are hating you, who are isolating you on account of My name, `Yahweh will be glorified!' Yet He will appear in your rejoicing, and they shall be ashamed."

¹¹ her heads are judging for a bribe, and her priests are directing for a price, and her prophets are divining for money, and on Yahweh they are leaning, saying:Is not Yahweh within us? Evil shall not come on us."

¹³ Seizing the wise in their craftiness, So that their cunning counsel is carried headlong.

³⁶ And whenever it stopped he said:Dwell, Yahweh, with the myriads of Israel's thousands.

¹¹ `So that I have counselled:Let all Israel be diligently gathered unto you, from Dan even unto Beer-Sheba, as the sand that [is] by the sea for multitude, and you yourself are going in the midst;" ¹² and we have come in unto him in one of the places where he is found, and we [are] upon him as the dew falls on the ground, and there has not been left of him and of all the men who [are] with him even one. ¹³ And if unto a city he is gathered, then they have caused all Israel to bear unto that city ropes, and we have drawn it unto the brook till that there has not been found there even a stone..

¹⁰ Yahweh your Elohim lives, if there is a nation and kingdom whither my lord has not sent to seek you; and they said, He is not, then he caused the kingdom and the nation to swear, that it does not find you;"

² And you, Bethlehem Ephratah, inferior to be among the mentors of Judah, from you shall One fare forth for Me to become the Ruler in Israel; yet His farings forth are from aforetime, from days eonian."

¹ Now it was the Passover and the unleavened bread after two days. And the chief priests and the scribes sought how, laying hold of Him by guile, they should be killing Him."

¹⁰ And Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, came away to the chief priests that he may be giving Him up to them." ¹¹ Now those who hear him rejoice, and promise to give him silver. And he sought how he may be opportunely giving Him up."

² Now Judas also, who is giving Him up, was acquainted with the place, for often was Jesus gathered there with His disciples." ³ Judas, then, getting a squad and deputies of the chief priests and Pharisees, is coming there with lanterns and torches and weapons."

² And [there is] a man in Maon, and his work [is] in Carmel; and the man [is] very great, and he has three thousand sheep, and a thousand goats; and he is shearing his flock in Carmel.

⁸ And he smites them hip and thigh--a great smiting, and goes down and dwells in the cleft of the rock Etam.

²⁸ And Saul turns back from pursuing after David, and goes to meet the Philistines, therefore they have called that place `The Rock of Divisions..

¹² And Michal causes David to go down through the window, and he goes on, and flees, and escapes;"

³⁸ and Jonathan calls after the youth, `Speed, haste, stand not;' and Jonathan's youth gathers the arrows, and comes unto his lord.

¹⁴ And David said to all his servants who [are] with him in Jerusalem, `Rise, and we flee, for we have no escape from the face of Absalom; haste to go, lest he hasten, and have overtaken us, and forced on us evil, and smitten the city by the mouth of the sword..

²¹ And it comes to pass, after their going on, that they come up out of the well, and go and declare to king David, and say unto David, `Rise you, and pass over hastily the waters, for thus has Ahithophel counselled against you.. ²² And David rises, and all the people who [are] with him, and they pass over the Jordan, till the light of the morning, till one has not been lacking who has not passed over the Jordan.

¹² `O our Elohim, do You not execute judgment upon them? for there is no power in us before this great multitude that has come against us, and we know not what we do, but on You [are] our eyes..

⁹ From the face of the wicked, those who devastate me; My enemies against my soul encompass about me."

¹¹ They surround me now in my progress; They are setting their eyes to turn me aside to the earth.

¹² Many young bulls surround me; Sturdy ones of Bashan, they compass me about."

¹⁶ For curs have surrounded me; The crowd of evildoers has encompassed me; They dig into my hands and my feet.

²² Yet I, I had said in my consternation, I am severed from in front of Your eyes. Nevertheless, You heard the voice of my supplications In my imploring to You."

¹¹ They surrounded me; indeed they surrounded me; It was with the Name of Yahweh That I cut them off. ¹² They surrounded me like bees; They were extinguished like a fire of thorns. It was with the Name of Yahweh That I cut them off. ¹³ I was pushed, yea pushed so as to fall, Yet Yahweh, He helped me."

¹ {A Davidic Psalm{ Liberate me, O Yahweh, from the evil person; From the man of violence may You preserve me;" ² Those who devise evil deeds in their heart, All day long they stir up warfare;" ³ They whet their tongue like a serpent; The venom of an asp is under their lips. {Interlude{ ⁴ Keep me, O Yahweh, from the hands of the wicked one; From the man of violence may You preserve me, Those who devise ways to trip up my footsteps." ⁵ Proud men bury a snare for me, And they spread lines, a net at the side of my route; They set traps for me. {Interlude{ " ⁶ I avow to Yahweh, You are my El; Do give ear, O Yahweh, to the voice of my supplications." ⁷ O Yahweh, my Lord, the Strength of my salvation, You overshadow my head in the day of the weapon." ⁸ Do not grant, O Yahweh, the yearnings of the wicked one; Do not promote his scheme. Let them not be exalted." ⁹ As for the heads of those round about me, May the misery done by their lips cover them."

⁸ For we do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning our affliction which came to us in the province of Asia, that we were inordinately burdened, over our ability, so that we were despairing of life also."

⁹ And they went up over the breadth of the earth, and surround the citadel of the saints and the beloved city. And fire descended from God out of heaven and devoured them."

¹⁴ And calling is Abraham the name of that place Yahweh-jireh, which is being said today, "In the mount of Yahweh it is being seen.

³⁶ For Yahweh shall adjudicate His people and show Himself merciful over His servants when He sees that the power of their hand has departed and has become nil for both the restrained and the ones set free.

⁹ And he hears concerning Tirhakah king of Cush, saying, `Lo, he has come out to fight with you;' and he turns and sends messengers unto Hezekiah, saying,

¹³ And the Philistines add again, and rush into the valley,

³ The cables of death have enveloped me, And the constrictions of the unseen, they have converged upon me; I found distress and affliction."

¹⁶ And the earth helps the woman, and the earth opens its mouth and swallowed the river which the dragon casts out of its mouth."

⁷ And returning are they and coming to En-Mishphat (It is now Kadesh). And smiting are they all the chiefs of the Amalekites and, moreover, the Amorites dwelling in Hazezon-tamar.

⁶² and Nibshan, and the city of Salt, and En-Gedi; six cities and their villages.

¹ And it comes to pass when Saul has turned back from after the Philistines, that they declare to him, saying, `Lo, David [is] in the wilderness of En-gedi..

² And they come in and declare to Jehoshaphat, saying, `Come against you has a great multitude from beyond the sea, from Aram, and lo, they [are] in Hazezon-Tamar--it [is] En-Gedi..

¹⁴ A cluster of henna blossoms is my darling to me, In the vineyards of Engedi."

¹⁰ And it has come to pass, fishers do stand by it, from En-Gedi even unto En-Eglaim; a spreading place of nets they are; according to their own kind is their fish, as the fish of the great sea, very many."
