³ And the people comes in unto the camp, and the elders of Israel say, `Why has Yahweh smitten us to-day before the Philistines? we take unto us from Shiloh the ark of the covenant of Yahweh, and it comes into our midst, and He does save us out of the hand of our enemies..

³³ They journeyed from the mount of Yahweh a way of three days while the coffer of the covenant of Yahweh was journeying before them a way of three days to explore a resting place for them.

³⁵ It came to be whenever the coffer journeyed Moses said:Arise, Yahweh, that Your enemies may scatter and those hating You may flee from Your presence.

⁶ Then Moses sent them out, a thousand per stock, as the militia host, and with them Phineas son of Eleazar the priest for the militia host, with the furnishings of the sanctuary and the bugles for the blast in his hand.

²⁴ hence all the nations will ask:Why did Yahweh do thus to this land? Why the heat of this great anger?

²⁶ You are to take this scroll of the law, and you must place it by the side of the coffer of the covenant of Yahweh your Elohim, and it will come to be there as a testimony against you,

⁷ that you have said to them, Because the waters of the Jordan were cut off, at the presence of the ark of the covenant of Yahweh; in its passing over into the Jordan were the waters of the Jordan cut off; and these stones have been for a memorial to the sons of Israel--to the eon..

⁴ and seven priests do bear seven trumpets of the jubilee before the ark, and on the seventh day you compass the city seven times, and the priests blow with the trumpets, ⁵ and it has been, in the prolongation of the horn of the jubilee, in your hearing the voice of the trumpet, all the people shout--a great shout, and the wall of the city has fallen under it, and the people have gone up, each over-against him..

⁷ And Joshua said, `Ah, Lord Yahweh, why have You at all caused this people to pass over the Jordan, to give us into the hand of the Amorite to destroy us? --and oh that we had been willing--and we dwell beyond the Jordan!"

¹⁸ And Saul said to Ahiah, `Bring nigh the ark of Elohim;' for the ark of Elohim has been on that day with the sons of Israel.

²⁵ And the king said to Zadok, `Take back the ark of Elohim to the city; if I find grace in the eyes of Yahweh, then He has brought me back, and shown me it and His habitation;"

¹ And it comes to pass as David sat in his house, that David said unto Nathan the prophet, `Lo, I am dwelling in a house of cedars, and the ark of the covenant of Yahweh [is] under curtains;.

¹ {Contemplating, Asaphic{ Why, O Elohim, have You cast us off permanently? Shall Your anger smolder long against the flock of Your pasture?

¹¹ Why are You turning back Your hand, even Your right hand? Take it from within Your bosom and finish them."

¹¹ Why, to Me, your many sacrifices?saying is Yahweh. "I am surfeited with ascent approaches of rams, and the fat of fatlings, and in the blood of young bulls and he-lambs and he-goats I do not delight." ¹² In case you are coming to appear before Me--Who seeks this from your hand, to tramp My courts? ¹³ Do not continue to bring a futile approach present. Incense--it is an abhorrence to Me! The new moon and the sabbath, the calling of a meeting--! I cannot bear a fast and a day of restraint!" ¹⁴ Your new moons and your appointments are hated by My soul. They become an encumbrance to Me. I am tired of bearing them. ¹⁵ And when you spread your palms to Me, I will obscure My eyes from you. Moreover, in case you are increasing your prayers, there is no hearing by Me. Your hands are full of blood. Amidst your fingers extrudes lawlessness."

¹ Thus says Yahweh, "Where is this scroll of divorce of your mother, with which I let her go? Or which of My creditors is it to whom I sold you? Behold! For your depravities were you sold, and for your transgressions was your mother sent away."

³ Why do we fast, yet You do not see? We humble our souls, yet You are not knowing?Behold! In the day of your fast you are finding delight, and all your grievous labors are you exacting of others."

¹⁶ And it has come to pass, when you are multiplied, And have been fruitful in the land, In those days--an affirmation of Yahweh, They say not any more, `The ark of the covenant of Yahweh,' Nor does it go up on the heart, Nor do they remember concerning it, Nor do they inspect, nor is it made again."

⁴ Do not trust for yourselves Unto the words of falsehood, saying, The temple of Yahweh, the temple of Yahweh, The temple of Yahweh [are] they!"

⁸ Lo, you are trusting for yourselves On the words of falsehood, so as not to profit." ⁹ Stealing, murdering, and committing adultery, And swearing to falsehood, and giving perfume to Baal, And going after other elohims whom you knew not." ¹⁰ And you have come in and stood before Me, In this house on which My name is called, And have said, `We have been delivered,' In order to do all these abominations." ¹¹ A den of burglars has this house, On which My name is called, been in your eyes? Even I, lo, I have seen, an affirmation of Yahweh." ¹² But go you, I pray you, Unto My place that [is] in Shiloh, Where I caused My name to dwell at first, And see that which I have done to it, For the wickedness of My people Israel." ¹³ And now, because of your doing all these works, An affirmation of Yahweh, And I speak unto you, rising early and speaking, And you have not hearkened, And I call you, and you have not answered, ¹⁴ I also to the house on which My name is called, In which you are trusting, And to the place that I gave to you, and to your fathers, Have done, as I have done to Shiloh." ¹⁵ And I have cast you from before My face, As I have cast out all your brethren, The whole seed of Ephraim."

²¹ I hate, I reject your celebrations, and I will not smell the approach presents in your days of restraint." ²² For if you bring up to Me ascent approaches or approach presents, I will not accept them. And on the peace approaches of your fatlings I will not look."

⁹ And you should not be presuming to be saying among yourselves, 'For a father we have Abraham,' for I am saying to you that able is God, out of these stones to rouse children to Abraham. ¹⁰ "Yet already the ax is lying at the root of the trees. Every tree, then, which is not producing ideal fruit is hewn down and cast into the fire.

²⁵ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for you are cleansing the outside of the cup and the plate, yet inside they are brimming with rapacity and incontinence." ²⁶ Blind Pharisee! Cleanse first the inside of the cup and the plate, that their outside also may be becoming clean!" ²⁷ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for you are resembling the whitewashed sepulchers which outside, indeed, are appearing beautiful, yet inside they are crammed with the bones of the dead and all uncleanness." ²⁸ Thus you, also, outside, indeed, are appearing to men to be just, yet inside you are distended with hypocrisy and lawlessness."

²⁸ For not that which is apparent is the Jew, nor yet that which is apparent in flesh is circumcision;" ²⁹ but that which is hidden is the Jew, and circumcision is of the heart, in spirit, not in letter, whose applause is not of men, but of God."

¹ For I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, that our fathers all were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea, ² and all are baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea, ³ and all ate the same spiritual food, ⁴ and all drank the same spiritual drink, for they drank of the spiritual Rock which followed. Now the Rock was Christ." ⁵ But not in the majority of them does God delight, for they were strewn along in the wilderness."

²¹ the representation of which, baptism, is now saving you also (not the putting off of the filth of the flesh, but the inquiry of a good conscience to God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

⁵ Now I am intending to remind you, you who once are aware of all, that the Lord, when saving the people out of the land of Egypt, secondly destroys those who believe not."
