¹⁹ And all the kings--servants of Hadadezer--see that they have been smitten before Israel, and make peace with Israel, and serve them; and Aram is afraid to help any more the Bene-Ammon.

¹ And coming is it in the days of the reign of Amraphel, king of Shinar, and Arioch, king of Ellasar, and Chedorlaomer, king of Elam, and Tidal, king of nations, ² that they make war with Bera, king of Sodom, and with Birsha king of Gomorrah, and Shinab, king of Admah, and Shemeber, king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela. (It is now Zoar.. ³ All these are joined at the vale of the salt fields. (It is now the salt sea.) ⁴ Twelve years they serve Chedorlaomer, and in the thirteenth year they revolt. ⁵ And in the fourteenth year comes Chedorlaomer, and the kings which are with him, and smiting are they the Rephaim in Ashteroth Karnaim, and the strong nations with them and the Emim in Shaveh towns,

¹⁰ And Joshua turns back at that time, and captures Hazor, and its king he has smitten by the sword; for Hazor formerly [is] head of all these kingdoms;"

⁷ and Adoni-Bezek said, `Seventy kings--their thumbs and their great toes cut off--have been gathering under my table; as I have done so has Elohim repaid to me;' and they bring him in to Jerusalem, and he dies there.

⁶ and David puts garrisons in Aram of Damascus, and Aram is to David for a servant, bearing a present; and Yahweh saves David whithersoever he has gone;"

¹ And Ben-Hadad king of Aram has gathered all his force, and thirty and two kings [are] with him, and horse and chariot, and he goes up and lays siege against Samaria, and fights with it,

¹⁹ And the servants of Hadarezer see that they have been smitten before Israel, and they make peace with David and serve him, and Aram has not been willing to help the sons of Ammon any more.

³⁷ I pursued my enemies and overtook them, And I did not return until they were finished." ³⁸ I transfixed them, and they were not able to rise. They fell beneath my feet."

⁴ For behold, the kings, they congregated; They crossed over together." ⁵ They themselves saw, so they were amazed; They were filled with panic; they hurried away."

¹¹ Yahweh, Your exalted hand they will fail to perceive. Yet they shall perceive and be shamed by the zeal of the disciplined people. Indeed, the fire of Your foes will devour them."

³⁷ You, O king, are king of kings, seeing that the Eloah of the heavens grants a safeguarded kingdom to you, and might and honor and esteem."

¹⁰ standing afar off because of the fear of her torment, saying, 'Woe! Woe! that great city! Babylon, the strong city! for in one hour your judging came.'"
