¹⁴ For, behold Me raising against you, house of Israel, (averring is Yahweh, Elohim of hosts), a nation; and they shall oppress you, from the entrance of Hamath unto the watercourse of the gorge."

⁷ And this shall be your northern boundary:from the Great Sea you shall mark out your line to Mount Hor; ⁸ from Mount Hor you shall mark it out to Lebo-hamath, and the border-area of the territory will be at Zedad;"

⁶⁵ And Solomon makes, at that time, the festival--and all Israel with him, a great assembly from the entering in of Hamath unto the brook of Egypt--before Yahweh our Elohim, seven days and seven days; fourteen days.

²⁰ In that day Yahweh will shave with a hired razor, with those across the stream, with the king of Assyria, the head, and the hair of the feet, and even the beard will it sweep off."

⁴ For ere the lad will know how to call `abi' and `ami,' borne away shall be the estate of Damascus, and the loot of Samaria, before the king of Assyria." ⁵ And Yahweh is proceeding to speak to me further, saying, ⁶ Forasmuch as this people reject the waters of Shiloah which are going carefully, and are elated over Rezin and Remaliah's son, ⁷ wherefore, also, behold! My Lord is bringing up over them the waters of the stream, the staunch and the vast--the king of Assyria and all his glory. And up it goes over all its channels, and goes over all its banks." ⁸ And it passes on into Judah, overflows and passes till it will touch the neck. And its outstretched wings come to fill the width of your land. Emmanu-El."

⁵ Woe, Assyria! Club of My anger! And a rod! He, in their hand, is My menace!" ⁶ Among a nation polluted will I send him. And against a people, object of My rage, will I instruct him. To loot loot and to plunder plunder, and to place them for tramping, as the clay of the streets."

¹⁵ Lo, I am bringing against you a nation from afar, O house of Israel, an affirmation of Yahweh, A nation--strong it [is], a nation--from of old it [is], A nation--you know not its tongue, Nor understand what it speaks." ¹⁶ Its quiver [is] as an open sepulchre, All of them--mighty ones." ¹⁷ And it has consumed your harvest and your bread, They consume your sons, and your daughters, It consumes your flock, and your herd, It consumes your vine, and your fig-tree, It makes poor your fenced cities, In which you are trusting--by the sword."

¹⁵ `And this [is] the border of the land at the north quarter; from the great sea, the way of Hethlon, at the coming in to Zedad:" ¹⁶ Hamath, Berothah, Sibraim, that [is] between the border of Damascus and the border of Hamath; Hazar-Hatticon, that [is] at the coast of Havran." ¹⁷ And the border from the sea has been Hazar-Enan, the border of Damascus, and Zaphon at the north, and the border of Hamath:and [this is] the north quarter."

⁵ The tabernaclers of Samaria will be stirred up for the heifer of Beth-aven, for its people mourn over it, and its dervishes are exulting over it, over its glory, for it is deported from it."
