¹ Seemly is it before Darius to set up over the kingdom a hundred and twenty-seven satraps who shall be in all the kingdom. ² Over them are three chancellors, Daniel being one of them. These satraps shall be reporting on their decrees to the three of them, so no damage will be done to the king's administration." ³ Then this Daniel is set permanently over the chancellors and satraps, forasmuch as an excellent spirit is in him; moreover the king reflects whether to set him up over all the kingdom." ⁴ Then the chancellors and satraps are seeking to find a pretext against Daniel in regard to the administration of the kingdom. Yet no pretext or corruption at all can they find, forasmuch as he is faithful, and no carelessness or corruption at all is found in him." ⁵ Then these masters are saying, "We will not find any pretext against this Daniel, unless in the edict of his Eloah we find it against him." ⁶ Then these chancellors and satraps foregather with the king, and thus they say to him, "King Darius, live for the eons!" ⁷ Counseling are all--the chancellors of the kingdom, the prefects and satraps, the retinue and the viceroys--to set up a royal statute and to issue a mighty interdict that everyone who is petitioning a petition from anyone--whether eloah or mortal--for thirty days, except only from you, O king, shall be heaved into the vault of the lions." ⁸ Now, O king, set up will you the interdict and sign the writing, that is not to be altered, as an edict of the Medes and Persians which shall not pass away." ⁹ Wherefore king Darius signed the writing and the interdict. ¹⁰ When Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house. Now the windows were opened for him in his upper chamber toward Jerusalem. Thus at stated times, thrice in the day, is he kneeling on his knees and praying and acclaiming before his Eloah just as formerly--this he is doing." ¹¹ Then these masters foregather and find Daniel petitioning and supplicating before his Eloah. ¹² Then they draw near and are speaking before the king concerning the king's interdict, "Did you not sign an interdict that every mortal who is petitioning from anyone--whether eloah or mortal--for thirty days, except only from you, O king, shall be heaved into the vault of the lions?Answering is the king and saying, "Certain is the matter as an edict of the Medes and Persians which shall not pass away." ¹³ Then they respond and are saying before the king, "Daniel, who is of the sons of the deportation of Judah, does not promulgate for you, O king, the decree, the interdict that you signed:At stated times, thrice in the day, he is petitioning his petitions before his Eloah." ¹⁴ Then the king, when he hears the matter, is enormously in bad odor to himself. As to Daniel he sets his heart to deliver him; thus till sunset he is exerting himself to rescue him." ¹⁵ Then these masters foregather with the king and are saying to the king, "Know, O king, that the edict for the Medes and Persians is that every interdict or statute that the king shall set up is not to be altered." ¹⁶ Then the king says the word, and they bring hither Daniel and heave him into the vault of the lions. Calling is the king to Daniel and saying, "Your Eloah, Whom you are serving in abidance, He will deliver you!" ¹⁷ And hither is brought a single stone and placed on the mouth of the vault. The king seals it with his signet ring and with the signet rings of his grandees, that there be no altering of his will in regard to Daniel." ¹⁸ Then the king departs to his palace and remains in his house, fasting. Diversions are not brought before him, even though his sleep flees from him. Yet Eloah closes the mouths of the lions and they do not harm Daniel." ¹⁹ Then the king is rising at reveille, in the brightness of the dawn." ²⁰ In a fluster he departs to the vault of the lions, and, as he is near the vault, he cries out to Daniel in a staunch voice. Calling is the king to Daniel and saying, "Daniel, servant of the living Eloah, your Eloah Whom you are serving in abidance, He could deliver you from the mouths of the lions? ²¹ Then Daniel declares to the king, "O king, live for the eons!" ²² My Eloah sent His messenger, and he closed the mouths of the lions that they could not harm me; forasmuch as before Him it is found that I am purged; and indeed, also before you, O king, no harm have I done." ²³ Then the king feels enormously relieved, and as to Daniel he says to hoist him from the vault. When Daniel is hoisted from the vault, no harm at all is found in him, seeing that he believes in his Eloah." ²⁴ Then the king speaks the word, and they bring hither these masters who had accused Daniel, and into the vault of the lions they heaved them, their wives, and their sons. Yet they do not reach the earth of the vault before the lions have them in their power and pulverize all their ribs." ²⁵ Then Darius the king writes to all peoples, leagues, and language-groups that are abiding in all the earth, "Your welfare be growing great!" ²⁶ From before me is promulgated this decree:In every authority of my kingdom be they stirred and terrified before Daniel's Eloah:He is the living Eloah and is set up for the eons. His kingdom shall not come to harm and His jurisdiction is till the terminus. ²⁷ He is delivering and rescuing. He is doing signs and amazing things in the heavens and on the earth--He Who delivers Daniel from the paws of the lions." ²⁸ And this Daniel prospers in the kingdom of Darius, and in the kingdom of Cyrus, the Persian."

¹⁴ Is it a matter too marvelous for Yahweh Elohim? At the appointed time will I return to you according to the season of life, and Sarah has a son.

¹⁵ for verily, stolen was I from the land of the Hebrews, and moreover, here have I done naught that they should place me in this cistern.

³⁸ And saying is Pharaoh to his servants, "Find will we one as this man, who has the spirit of the Elohim in him? ³⁹ And saying is Pharaoh to Joseph, "After the Elohim has made known to you all this, there is no one as understanding and wise as you. ⁴⁰ You shall be over my household, and at your bidding all my people shall bear weapons. But on the throne will I be greater than you. ⁴¹ And saying is Pharaoh to Joseph, "See! Given you have I today to be over all the land of Egypt.

¹⁸ And fearful are the mortals, for they are brought to Joseph's house. And saying are they, "On account of the matter of the money returned in our bags at the start are we being brought, to roll himself upon us, and to fall upon us, to take us for servants, and our asses.

⁹ So Jethro exhilarated over all the good which Yahweh had done to Israel, whom He had rescued from the hand of Egypt.

²¹ Now you shall perceive among all the people men of ability, fearful of Elohim, men of truth, hating gain. You will place these over them as chiefs of thousands, chiefs of hundreds, chiefs of fifties and chiefs of tens. ²² And they will judge the people in every season. Yet it will be that every great matter of dispute they shall bring to you, and every small matter shall they judge themselves. Lighten yourself from what is on you, and they will bear it with you.

²³ And Yahweh said to Moses:The hand of Yahweh, is it short? Now shall you see whether My word shall happen to you or not.

¹⁵ If You put this people to death as one man, then the nations who heard the report of You will say, saying. ¹⁶ Because Yahweh was unable to bring this people to the land about which He had sworn to them, He slew them in the wilderness.

¹⁶ We cried to Yahweh, and He heard our voice and sent a messenger and brought us forth from Egypt. Now behold, we are at Kadesh, a city at your outmost boundary.

²⁶ For who is there of all flesh that has heard the voice of the living Elohim speaking from the midst of the fire as we have, and he still lives?

¹⁸ The judges will inquire diligently, and behold, should the false witness assert false testimony against his brother, ¹⁹ then you must do to him just as he schemed to do to his brother. Thus you will eradicate the evil from among you. ²⁰ The remainder shall hearken and fear, and they shall no longer continue to do anything like this evil matter among you.

¹⁶ Fathers shall not be put to death on account of their sons' sins, nor shall sons be put to death on account of their fathers' sins. Each man shall be put to death for his own sin.

²⁴ And Joshua takes Achan son of Zerah, and the silver, and the robe, and the wedge of gold, and his sons, and his daughters, and his ox, and his ass, and his flock, and his tent, and all that he has, and all Israel with him, and they cause them to go up the valley of Achor. ²⁵ And Joshua said, `What! you have troubled us! --Yahweh does trouble you this day;' and all Israel cast stones at him, and they burn them with fire, and they stone them with stones,

⁴ And his father and his mother have not known that from Yahweh it [is], that a meeting he is seeking of the Philistines; and at that time the Philistines are ruling over Israel.

³⁰ `Therefore--the affirmation of Yahweh, Elohim of Israel--I certainly said, Your house and the house of your father, do walk up and down before Me to the eon; and now--the affirmation of Yahweh--Far be it from Me! for he who is honoring Me, I honor, and those despising Me, are lightly esteemed.

²⁶ And David speaks unto the men who are standing by him, saying, `What is done to the man who smites this Philistine, and has turned aside reproach from Israel? for who [is] this uncircumcised Philistine that he has reproached the ranks of the living Elohim?.

³⁶ Both the lion and the bear has your servant smitten, and this uncircumcised Philistine has been as one of them, for he has reproached the ranks of the living Elohim.. ³⁷ And David said, `Yahweh, who delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, He does deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.' And Saul said unto David, `Go, and Yahweh is with you..

¹⁴ And David is in all his ways acting wisely, and Yahweh [is] with him,

⁴ And Jonathan speaks good of David unto Saul his father, and said unto him, `Let not the king sin against his servant, against David, because he has not sinned against you, and because his works for you [are] very good;" ⁵ yea, he puts his life in his hand, and smites the Philistine, and Yahweh works a great salvation for all Israel; you have seen, and do rejoice, and why do you sin against innocent blood, to put David to death for nought?.

¹⁴ And Ahimelech answers the king and said, `And who among all your servants [is] as David--faithful, and son-in-law of the king, and has turned aside unto your council, and is honored in your house?

⁹ And David said to Saul, `Why do you hear the words of man, saying, Lo, David is seeking your evil? <sup>10</sup> Lo, this day have your eyes seen how that Yahweh has given you to-day into my hand in the cave; and [one] said to slay you, and [mine eye] has pity on you, and I say, I do not put forth my hand against my lord, for the anointed of Yahweh he [is]. <sup>11</sup> `And, my father, see, yea see the skirt of your upper robe in my hand; for by cutting off the skirt of your upper robe, and I have not slain you, know and see that there is not in my hand evil and transgression, and I have not sinned against you, and you are hunting my soul to take it!"

¹⁷ And he said unto David, `More righteous you [are] than I; for you have done me good, and I have done you evil;"

¹⁸ and he said, `Why [is] this--my lord is pursuing after his servant? for what have I done, and what [is] in my hand evil?

²⁸ And David hears afterwards and said, `Acquitted [am] I, and my kingdom, by Yahweh, unto the eon, from the blood of Abner son of Ner;" ²⁹ it does stay on the head of Joab, and on all the house of his father, and there is not cut off from the house of Joab one having an issue, and leprous, and laying hold on a staff, and falling by a sword, and lacking bread..

³⁹ and I to-day [am] tender, and an anointed king:and these men, sons of Zeruiah, [are] too hard for me; Yahweh does recompense to the doer of the evil according to his evil..

¹⁶ and David seeks Elohim for the youth, and David keeps a fast, and has gone in and lodged, and lain on the earth. ¹⁷ And the elders of his house rise against him, to raise him up from the earth, and he has not been willing, nor has he eaten with them bread;"

²⁴ And Mephibosheth son of Saul has come down to meet the king--and he prepared not his feet, nor did he prepare his upper lip, yea, his garments he washed not, even from the day of the going away of the king, till the day that he came in peace-.

⁷ In mine adversity I call Yahweh, And unto my Elohim I call, And He hears from His temple my voice, And my cry [is] in His ears,

⁷ And it comes to pass at Hiram's hearing the words of Solomon, that he rejoices exceedingly, and said, `Blessed [is] Yahweh to-day, who has given to David a wise son over this numerous people..

³⁰ `Then You have hearkened unto the supplication of Your servant, and of Your people Israel, which they pray towards this place; yea, You do hearken in the place of Your dwelling, in the heavens--and You have hearkened, and have forgiven,

³⁸ any prayer, any supplication that [is] of any man of all Your people Israel, who know each the plague of his own heart, and has spread his hands towards this house,

⁴⁴ `When Your people does go out to battle against its enemy, in the way that You do send them, and they have prayed unto Yahweh the way of the city which you have fixed on, and of the house which I have builded for Your name;"

⁴⁸ yea, they have turned back unto You, with all their heart, and with all their soul, in the land of their enemies who have taken them captive, and have prayed unto You the way of their land, which You gave to their fathers, the city which You have chosen, and the house which I have builded for Your name. ⁴⁹ `Then You have heard in the heavens, the settled place of Your dwelling, their prayer and their supplication, and have maintained their cause, ⁵⁰ and have forgiven Your people who have sinned against You, even all their transgressions which they have transgressed against You, and have given them mercies before their captors, and they have had mercy [on] them-.

⁵⁴ And it comes to pass, at Solomon's finishing to pray unto Yahweh all this prayer and supplication, he has risen from before the altar of Yahweh, from bending on his knees, and his hands spread out to the heavens,

²⁷ And it comes to pass, at Ahab's hearing these words, that he rends his garments, and puts sackcloth on his flesh, and fasts, and lies in sackcloth, and goes gently.

⁶ and the sons of those smiting [him] he has not put to death, as it is written in the book of the law of Moses that Yahweh commanded, saying, `Fathers are not put to death for sons, and sons are not put to death for fathers, but each for his own sin is put to death..

²⁰ and they are helped against them, and the Hagarites are given into their hand, and all who [are] with them, for they cried to Elohim in battle, and He was entreated of them, because they trusted in Him.

¹¹ Seek you Yahweh and His strength, Seek His face continually.

¹¹ And Huram king of Tyre said in writing, and sends unto Solomon:`In the love of Yahweh to His people He has given you king over them.. <sup>12</sup> And Huram said, `Blessed [is] Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, who made the heavens and the earth, who has given to David the king a wise son, knowing wisdom and understanding, who does build a house for Yahweh, and a house for his kingdom.

¹³ for Solomon has made a scaffold of brass, and puts it in the midst of the court, five cubits its length, and five cubits its breadth, and three cubits its height, and he stands upon it, and kneels on his knees over-against all the assembly of Israel, and spreads forth his hands towards the heavens-.

³⁸ yea, they have turned back unto You with all their heart, and with all their soul, in the land of their captivity, whither they have taken them captive, and they have prayed the way of their land that You have given to their fathers, and of the city that You have chosen, and of the house that I have built for Your name.

²⁰ And they rise early in the morning, and go out to the wilderness of Tekoa, and in their going out Jehoshaphat has stood and said, `Hear me, O Judah, and inhabitants of Jerusalem, remain stedfast in Yahweh your Elohim, and be stedfast; remain stedfast in His prophets, and prosper..

²¹ and Yahweh sends a messenger, and cuts off every mighty one of valor--both leader and head--in the camp of the king of Asshur, and he turns back with shame of face to his land, and enters the house of his elohim, and those coming out of his bowels have caused him to fall there by the sword.

²² And in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, at the completion of the word of Yahweh in the mouth of Jeremiah, has Yahweh waked up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, and he causes an intimation to pass over into all his kingdom, and also in writing, saying,

¹ In the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, to conclude the word of Yahweh from the mouth of Jeremiah, Yahweh roused the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia so that he caused a notification to pass through all his kingdom, and also in writing, saying, ² Thus speaks Cyrus king of Persia:Yahweh Elohim of the heavens has given me all the kingdoms of the earth, and He Himself has committed to me to build for Him a House in Jerusalem, which is in Judah.

¹⁷ The king sent this rescript to high commissioner Rehum and scribe Shimshai, and the rest of their colleagues who were settled in Samaria and the rest Beyond-the-Stream:Peace! No.

²² And be warned against acting carelessly in this matter. Why let this harm grow great so as to cause damage to the kings?

⁸ So a decree is being promulgated from me as to what you shall do for these greyhaired elders of the Judeans in the rebuilding of this House of Eloah. Out of the king's resources, from the tribute of the province Beyond-the-Stream, disbursement shall be fully granted to these masters, so as not to halt the work. ⁹ And what is needed, such as young bulls, rams and lambs for ascent offerings to Eloah of the heavens, wheat, salt, turbid wine and oil, according to the word of the priests in Jerusalem, let it be granted to them day by day without fail, ¹⁰ so that they may be offering fragrant incense to Eloah of the heavens and be praying for the life of the king and his sons. ¹¹ So a decree is being promulgated from me that, as for any man who violates this rescript, a beam shall be torn out of his house; and lifted up, he shall be impaled on it. And his house shall be turned into ruins on account of this. ¹² May Eloah Who made His Name tabernacle there, overturn any king or people that stretches out his hand to disobey this rescript by harming this House of Eloah in Jerusalem. I, Darius, have promulgated the decree. Let it be carried out thoroughly.

¹² Artaxerxes king of kings, to Ezra the priest, scholar in the edict of the Eloah of the heavens. Peace being perfected! And no. ¹³ a decree is being promulgated from me, that anyone in my kingdom who is from the people of Israel and its priests and Levites and who is willing to go to Jerusalem with you, may go.

⁵ Then at the time of the evening approach present I arose from my self-abasement and, with my garment and my robe torn on me, I bowed down on my knees and spread out my palms to Yahweh my Elohi.

³ and say to the king, `Let the king to the eon live! wherefore should not my face be sad, when the city, the place of the graves of my fathers, [is] a waste, and its gates have been consumed with fire?.

¹¹ And I say, `A man such as I--does he flee? and who as I, that does go in unto the temple, and live? --I do not go in..

² and I charge Hanani my brother, and Hananiah head of the palace, concerning Jerusalem--for he [is] as a man of truth, and fearing Elohim above many-.

¹ It was in the days of Xerxes--that Xerxes who was reigning over 127 provinces from India unto Nubia.

¹⁹ ``If it seems good to the king, a royal decree may go forth from before him, and it may be written into the edicts of Persia and Media so that it can not be revoked, that Vashti must never again enter into the presence of king Xerxes, and that the king shall bestow her royal position upon a mate of her who is better than she.

⁸ Then Haman said to king Xerxes:There is a certain people dispersed and parted among the peoples in all the provinces of your kingdom; and their edicts are diverse from any other people. They are not obeying the king's edicts, and for the king it is not appropriate to tolerate them.

¹² Then the king's scribes were called in the first month, on the thirteenth day of it. According to all the instructions that Haman had given, it was written to the king's satraps, to the viceroys who were over the different provinces, and to the chief officials of the different peoples, to each province in its own provincial writing, and to each people in its own popular tongue. It was written in the name of king Xerxes and was sealed with the king's ring.

¹ During that night, sleep flit away from the king, and he said to bring the memorial scroll of records of the days; and they were read before the king.

⁴ For we have been sold, I and my people, to be exterminated, to be killed and to be destroyed. Now supposing we had been sold as male slaves and as maids, I would have kept silence, for it would not be appropriate to report such a distress, and cause trouble to the king.

¹⁰ Then they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai. And the king's fury subsided.

³ Then Esther pleaded again before the king and fell down before his feet. She wept and supplicated him to avert the evil plotted by Haman the Agagite, and his devising that he had designed against the Jews.

⁸ As for you, write on behalf of the Jews as seems best in your eyes. Write in the king's name and seal it with the king's ring. (For a writing which is written in the king's name and sealed with the king's ring can not be reversed.. ⁹ So the king's scribes were called at that time, in the third month, that is, the month of Sivan, on the twenty-third day of it. All was written, just as Mordecai instructed them, to the Jews and to the satraps, the viceroys and chief officials of all the provinces, 127 provinces from India unto Nubia, to each province in its provincial writing, and to each people in its popular tongue, and to the Jews in their writing and in their tongue. ¹⁰ Mordecai wrote in the name of King Xerxes, sealed with the king's ring and sent letters by means of couriers on horseback, riding the stallions of the royal service, those bred of its stud-mares.

¹⁰ the ten sons of Haman son of Hammedatha, the foe of the Jews. They killed them, but they did not lay their hand on the plunder.

²⁵ But when it came before the king, he ordered with a letter that his evil devising that he had devised against the Jews should get back on his own head; and so they hanged him and his sons on the gallows.

³ For Mordecai the Jew was second to king Xerxes and towering among the Jews and held dear by many of his brothers; he sought after the good for his people and spoke up for the welfare of all his seed.

¹⁹ In six distresses He shall rescue you, And in seven, evil shall not touch you.

¹² They lift up in song with tambourine and harp, And they rejoice to the sound of the shepherd's pipe.

¹⁵ He liberates the humble one by his humiliations And reveals truth to their ears by oppression.

² The kings of the earth are standing by, And the chancellors are gathered together Against Yahweh and against His Anointed, saying,

¹¹ Serve Yahweh with fear, And exult with quivering.

⁷ As for me, in the vastness of Your benignity I shall enter Your House; I shall worship toward Your holy Temple in devout fear of You.

¹ {Davidic{ {Which he sang unto Yahweh concerning the words of Cush, a Benjamite.{ O Yahweh my Elohim, I take refuge in You; Save me from all those pursuing me, and rescue me!" ² Lest he should tear my soul to pieces like a lion, Tearing it off while there is no rescuer. ³ O Yahweh my Elohim, if I have done this, If there is iniquity in my palms, ⁴ If I have requited evil to one at peace with me-- I, who pulled off valueless spoils from my foe-.

⁹ He waits in ambush in concealment like a lion in its covert; He waits in ambush to kidnap the humble; He kidnaps the humble by drawing him into his net.

¹ {A Davidic Psalm{ In Yahweh I take refuge; How are you saying to my soul, Soar like a bird to the mountain? ² For behold, the wicked are positioning the bow; They make their arrow ready on the cord, To shoot in the gloom at the upright of heart.

¹⁹ He brought me forth into a wide place; He liberated me, for He has delighted in me." ²⁰ Yahweh requited me according to my righteousness; According to the purity of my hands He recompensed me. ²¹ For I have kept the ways of Yahweh, And I have not been wicked by turning from my Elohim." ²² For all His judgments have been in front of me, And I have not put away His statutes from me." ²³ I have become flawless before Him; Let me keep myself from my depravity. ²⁴ Yahweh recompensed me according to my righteousness, According to the purity of my hands in front of His eyes."

⁴⁸ The One delivering me from my enemies. Indeed from those rising against me have You safely set me high; From the man of violence have You rescued me.

⁵⁰ He is the One magnifying the salvations of His king, And showing benignity to His anointed, To David, and to his seed for the eon. {Permanent{ "

⁶ I shall wash my palms in innocency, And I will go around Your altar, O Yahweh,

¹⁰ Yahweh sat enthroned above the deluge, And Yahweh shall sit enthroned as King for the eon."

¹⁴ Yet I, I trusted in You, O Yahweh; I said, My Elohim are You;"

⁷ You are a concealment for me; From distress shall You preserve me, With jubilant songs of deliverance shall You surround me. {Interlude{ "

¹ {Davidic{ {When he altered his sanity before Abimelech so that he drove him out, and he went away.{ Let me bless Yahweh in every season; His praise is in my mouth continually."

⁷ The messenger of Yahweh is encamping around those fearing Him, And He shall liberate them."

¹⁷ O Yahweh, how long shall You look on? Do restore my soul from their ruinations, My only one from the sheltered lions."

¹² The wicked one is scheming against the righteous one, And is gnashing his teeth at him." ¹³ Yahweh, He is ridiculing him, For He sees that his day shall come."

³² The wicked is watching for the righteous one And is seeking to put him to death. ³³ Yahweh, He shall not forsake him to his hand, And He shall not let him be condemned when he is judged."

³⁹ The salvation of the righteous is from Yahweh, Their Stronghold in a season of distress." ⁴⁰ And Yahweh shall help them and deliver them; He shall deliver them from the wicked and save them, For they took refuge in Him."

⁵ Let evil turn back against those who lie in wait for me; By Your truth efface them.

⁶ They are stirring up plots; they are lurking; They are keeping track of my heel prints, As though they expected to take my soul."

³ For behold, they wait in ambush for my soul; Strong men are stirring up plots against me, But not for my transgression and not for my sin, O Yahweh."

³ How long shall you foes be hostile against a man, All of you, that you may murder him, As though he were a slanting sidewall Or a foundering stone dike? ⁴ They intrigue only to trip him up from his dignity; They approve of lies; With their mouth they bless, Yet within them, they are maledicting. {Interlude{ "

⁹ Common sons of Adam are only a transitory breath, Noted sons of man a lie; If brought up on the scales, They are less than a transitory breath altogether." ¹⁰ Do not trust in extortion, And in pillage, do not place vain hope; Though your estate be producing, do not set your heart on it."

² Conceal me from the deliberation of evildoers, From the foregathering of the contrivers of lawlessness, ³ Who whet their tongue like a sword; They position their arrow--a bitter word-- ⁴ To shoot at the flawless from concealment. Suddenly they shoot at him and do not fear. ⁵ They are encouraging themselves in an evil matter; They are recounting plans to bury traps; They say, Who shall see us? ⁶ They are searching into iniquity, Saying, We will finish a thorough search. The inward thought of each and the heart are deep."

¹⁶ Yet I hear concerning you that you can interpret interpretations and untie knots. Now, if you can read the writing and make known to me its interpretation, in purple shall you be clothed, with a circlet of gold about your neck, and as the third one in the kingdom shall you have authority."

²⁹ Then, at Belshazzar's order, they clothe Daniel in purple, with a circlet of gold about his neck, and they proclaim concerning him that he is the third authority in the kingdom."

⁶ Then these chancellors and satraps foregather with the king, and thus they say to him, "King Darius, live for the eons!" ⁷ Counseling are all--the chancellors of the kingdom, the prefects and satraps, the retinue and the viceroys--to set up a royal statute and to issue a mighty interdict that everyone who is petitioning a petition from anyone--whether eloah or mortal--for thirty days, except only from you, O king, shall be heaved into the vault of the lions." ⁸ Now, O king, set up will you the interdict and sign the writing, that is not to be altered, as an edict of the Medes and Persians which shall not pass away."

¹¹ Then these masters foregather and find Daniel petitioning and supplicating before his Eloah. ¹² Then they draw near and are speaking before the king concerning the king's interdict, "Did you not sign an interdict that every mortal who is petitioning from anyone--whether eloah or mortal--for thirty days, except only from you, O king, shall be heaved into the vault of the lions?Answering is the king and saying, "Certain is the matter as an edict of the Medes and Persians which shall not pass away." ¹³ Then they respond and are saying before the king, "Daniel, who is of the sons of the deportation of Judah, does not promulgate for you, O king, the decree, the interdict that you signed:At stated times, thrice in the day, he is petitioning his petitions before his Eloah." ¹⁴ Then the king, when he hears the matter, is enormously in bad odor to himself. As to Daniel he sets his heart to deliver him; thus till sunset he is exerting himself to rescue him." ¹⁵ Then these masters foregather with the king and are saying to the king, "Know, O king, that the edict for the Medes and Persians is that every interdict or statute that the king shall set up is not to be altered." ¹⁶ Then the king says the word, and they bring hither Daniel and heave him into the vault of the lions. Calling is the king to Daniel and saying, "Your Eloah, Whom you are serving in abidance, He will deliver you!"

¹⁸ Then the king departs to his palace and remains in his house, fasting. Diversions are not brought before him, even though his sleep flees from him. Yet Eloah closes the mouths of the lions and they do not harm Daniel."

²⁰ In a fluster he departs to the vault of the lions, and, as he is near the vault, he cries out to Daniel in a staunch voice. Calling is the king to Daniel and saying, "Daniel, servant of the living Eloah, your Eloah Whom you are serving in abidance, He could deliver you from the mouths of the lions? ²¹ Then Daniel declares to the king, "O king, live for the eons!"

²³ Then the king feels enormously relieved, and as to Daniel he says to hoist him from the vault. When Daniel is hoisted from the vault, no harm at all is found in him, seeing that he believes in his Eloah."

²³ At the start of your supplications a word from Yahweh fared forth, and I come to tell you, for a man of coveted qualities are you. "Then understand what is in the word and understand what is in the sight."

¹ In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia a matter was revealed to Daniel whose name is called Belteshazzar; the matter is true and the host is great; he understood the matter and an understanding has he of the sight.

¹⁰ Yet the number of the sons of Israel shall become as the sand of the sea, which is not being measured nor numbered. And it comes to be in the place in which it was being said to them, Not My people are you, there shall it be said to them, sons of the living El."

⁴ those lying on couches of ivory, and who extend themselves on their divans, and are eating the butting lambs from the flock, and the calves from the midst of the stall;" ⁵ those twanging at the bidding of the zither, as David, they devise for themselves instruments of song;" ⁶ those drinking wine in sprinkling bowls, and who are anointing with the principal oils, yet are not ill over the breaking of Joseph."

⁴ And I said, I am driven out from in front of Your eyes. Yea, I will continue to look to Your holy temple."

³ And Jonah is rising and going to Nineveh, according to the word of Yahweh. Now Nineveh had become a great city to Elohim, of three days walking." ⁴ And Jonah is starting to enter into the city, a walk of one day. And he is calling out and saying, Forty days more and Nineveh shall be overturned." ⁵ Then the men of Nineveh are believing in Elohim. And they are calling a fast and are putting on sackcloths, from their greatest unto their small." ⁶ And the word is touching the king of Nineveh. And he is rising from his throne and is transferring his fur robe from him, and he is covering himself with sackcloth and is sitting on ashes." ⁷ And he is calling a convocation, and he is saying in Nineveh, By the decree of the king and his great ones, saying:Human and beast, herd and flock must not be tasting aught. They must not be grazing, and water they must not be drinking." ⁸ The human and the beast shall cover themselves with sackcloths. And they shall call with steadfastness to Elohim. And they shall turn back, each man, from his evil way and from the wrong which is in their palms." ⁹ Who is knowing if He will reverse, and the Elohim will regret and turn back from His hot anger, and we shall not perish?

⁵ My people, remember, I pray, what Balak, king of Moab, counseled, and what Balaam, son of Beor, answered him, from Shittim unto Gilgal, that you may know the righteousness of Yahweh."

⁷ Yet I will watch in Yahweh. I will wait for the Elohim of my salvation. My Elohim will hear me.

⁸ Now she, being egged on by her mother, is averring, "Give me here, on a platter, the head of John the baptist." ⁹ And the king, being sorry, yet because of the oaths and those lying back at table with him, orders it to be given." ¹⁰ And sending, he beheads John in the jail."

²³ Therefore likened was the kingdom of the heavens to a man, a king, who wants to settle accounts with his slaves."

¹⁹ And in this shall we be knowing that we are of the truth and shall be persuading our hearts in front of Him, ²⁰ seeing that, if our heart should be censuring us, God is greater than our heart, and He knows all." ²¹ Beloved, if our heart should not be censuring us, we have boldness toward God,

² May mercy and peace and love be multiplied to you!

²⁴ Now to Him Who is able to guard you from tripping, and to stand you flawless in sight of His glory, in exultation,

¹⁰ Fear nothing that you are about to be suffering. Lo! the Adversary is about to be casting some of you into jail that you may be tried, and you will be having affliction ten days. Become faithful until death, and I shall be giving you the wreath of life."

¹³ '"I am aware where you are dwelling-where the throne of Satan is-and you are holding My name, and do not disown My faith in the days in which Antipas, My faithful witness, was killed among you, where Satan is dwelling."

¹⁰ the twenty-four elders, also, will be falling before Him Who is sitting on the throne and will be worshiping Him Who is living for the eons of the eons (Amen!). And they are casting their wreaths before the throne, saying,

¹⁴ And the four animals said, "Amen!And the elders fall and worship."

¹⁵ And the seventh messenger trumpets. And loud voices occurred in heaven, saying, "The kingdom of this world became our Lord's and His Christ's, and He shall be reigning for the eons of the eons! Amen!"

²² And the sound of lyre singers and entertainers, and of flutists and trumpeters should be heard in you nevermore; and every artificer of every trade may be found in you nevermore; and the sound of a millstone should be heard in you nevermore;"
