¹ In year one of Darius, son of Ahasuerus, of the seed of the Medes, who was made king over the kingdom of the Chaldeans, ² in year one of his reign, I, Daniel, understand by the scrolls the number of years which came by the word of Yahweh to Jeremiah the prophet, to fulfill for deserted Jerusalem, seventy years." ³ I am setting my face to my Lord the Elohim, to seek prayer and supplications in fasting and sackcloth and ashes." ⁴ I am praying to Yahweh my Elohim and am confessing and saying, "Oh, my Lord the El, great and fearful, Keeper of the covenant and the kindness for those loving Him and keeping His instructions:" ⁵ We sin and we are depraved, we do wickedly and revolt, we withdraw from Thy instructions and from Thy judgments." ⁶ We do not hearken to Thy servants the prophets, who speak in Thy name to our kings, our chiefs, our forefathers and to all the people of the land." ⁷ To Thee, my Lord, is righteousness, yet to us is shamefacedness as at this day:To each man of Judah, to the dwellers of Jerusalem, to all the people of Israel, the near and the far, in all the lands where Thou hast expelled them for their offense with which they offend Thee." ⁸ To Thee, Yahweh, is righteousness, yet to us is shamefacedness:To our kings, to our chiefs, to our forefathers, who sin against Thee." ⁹ Of Yahweh our Elohim are compassions and pardons; for we revolt against Him." ¹⁰ We do not hearken to the voice of Yahweh our Elohim, to go in His laws which He sets before us by the hand of His servants the prophets." ¹¹ All Israel--they trespass against Thy law to withdraw so as not to hearken to Thy voice. Hence pouring forth on us is the imprecation and the oath which is written in the law of Moses, the servant of Elohim; for we sin against Him." ¹² Hence He is setting up His words, which He speaks concerning us and concerning our judges who judge us, to bring on us this great evil which is not done under the entire heavens as it is done in Jerusalem." ¹³ According to that which is written in the law of Moses, all this evil comes on us; yet we do not beseech the face of Yahweh our Elohim, so as to turn back from our depravities and to be intelligent in all Thy truth." ¹⁴ Alert is Yahweh over the evil, and He is bringing it on us. Just is Yahweh our Elohim in all His doings which He does; yet we do not hearken to His voice." ¹⁵ And now, my Lord our Elohim, Who brought Thy people forth from the land of Egypt with a steadfast hand, and art making for Thyself a name as at this day; we sin, we are wicked." ¹⁶ My Lord, according to all Thy righteousness, pray, let Thy anger and Thy fury turn away from Thy city Jerusalem, Thy holy mountain. Because of our sins and depravities--ours and our forefathers--Jerusalem and Thy people, Lord, are a reproach to all around us." ¹⁷ And now hearken, Lord our Elohim, to the prayer of Thy servant and to his supplications. Light up Thy face over Thy desolated sanctuary on Thy account, my Lord:" ¹⁸ Stretch out, my Elohim, Thine ear and hear me; unclose Thine eyes and see our desolation and the city over which Thy name is called; for not on account of our righteousness are we casting our supplications before Thee, but on account of the multitude of Thy compassions." ¹⁹ My Lord, hear! My Lord, pardon! My Lord, attend and do! Thou must not be delaying on Thine own account, my Elohim, for Thy name is called over Thy city and over Thy people, Israel." ²⁰ And while I am speaking-- praying and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel and casting my supplication before Yahweh my Elohim concerning the holy mountain of my Elohim-- ²¹ even while I am speaking in my prayer, behold, the man Gabriel, whom I saw in the vision at the start, flying swiftly, is touching me at the time of the evening approach present." ²² And he is approaching and speaking with me, saying, "Daniel, now I fare forth to give you an intelligent understanding." ²³ At the start of your supplications a word from Yahweh fared forth, and I come to tell you, for a man of coveted qualities are you. "Then understand what is in the word and understand what is in the sight." ²⁴ Seventy sevens are segregated for your people and for your holy city:To detain transgression, to cause sin to end, to make a propitiatory shelter for depravity; to bring the righteousness of the eons, to seal the vision and the prophet, to anoint the holy of holies." ²⁵ And you shall know and be intelligent:From the faring forth of the word to cause a return and to rebuild Jerusalem--from then till Messiah the Governor is seven sevens, and sixty-two sevens. It will return and will be rebuilt, square and salient, even in eras of constraint." ²⁶ After the sixty-two sevens, Messiah will be cut off, and there is no adjudication for Him. The city and the holy place shall be laid in ruins with the other governor's coming; then its end is by an overflow, and till the end of the war desolations will be decided." ²⁷ Then he will be master of a covenant with many for one seven:At half of the seven, he will cause to cease the sacrifice and the approach present; on a wing of the sanctuary shall be desolating abominations. Till the conclusion of the era the decided conclusion will be poured forth on the desolation."

²¹ Thus Daniel continued on till year one of Cyrus, the king of Persia."

³¹ And Darius the Mede received the kingdom, being about sixty-two years old."

²⁸ And this Daniel prospers in the kingdom of Darius, and in the kingdom of Cyrus, the Persian."

¹ And I--in year one of Darius the Mede, my position was to make him steadfast and to strengthen him."

²¹ to fulfil the word of Yahweh in the mouth of Jeremiah, till the land has enjoyed its sabbaths; all the days of the desolation it kept sabbath--to the fulness of seventy years.

¹ In the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, to conclude the word of Yahweh from the mouth of Jeremiah, Yahweh roused the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia so that he caused a notification to pass through all his kingdom, and also in writing, saying,

³ Do raise up Your footsteps unto the permanent ruinations, All the evil the enemy has done in the Sanctuary." ⁴ Your foes roar within Your appointed place; They set up their ensigns as signs. ⁵ They hacked to pieces like men wielding upward With hatchets into a thicket of trees. ⁶ And now its engraved panels altogether They are battering with crowbar and bills. ⁷ They send up Your Sanctuary in fire; Down to the earth they profane the Tabernacle of Your Name.

¹ {An Asaphic Psalm{ O Elohim, the nations have entered Your allotment; They have defiled Your holy Temple; They have turned Jerusalem into rubbish heaps." ² They have given the carcasses of Your servants as food for the flyer of the heavens, The flesh of Your benign ones to the wild animal of the earth."

²⁴ Even so Your testimonies are my delectations, Your statutes are my men of counsel."

⁹⁹ I have gained insight more than all my teachers, For Your testimonies are my meditation." ¹⁰⁰ I have gained more understanding than elders, For I preserve Your precepts."

¹¹ And saying am I, "Till when, Yahweh?And saying is He, "Till the cities should tumult from having no dweller, and houses, from having no human. And the ground is remaining a desolation, ¹² and Yahweh removes the human afar, and much is forsaken within the land."

¹⁰ Broken is every town--a chaos. Locked is every house against entry. ¹¹ Yelling over the wine is in the streets; the eventide is it for all rejoicing. Deported is all the elation of the land. ¹² And there remains in the city, desolation, and houses, forsaken, perish, and a tumult is pounding the gate."

¹⁰ The cities of Your holy place come to be a wilderness. Zion becomes as a wilderness, Jerusalem a desolation."

³⁴ And I have caused to cease from cities of Judah, And from streets of Jerusalem, The voice of joy, and the voice of gladness, Voice of bridegroom, and voice of bride, For the land does become a desolation!"

¹¹ And all this land has been for a waste, for an astonishment, and these nations have served the king of Babylon seventy years." ¹² `And it has come to pass, at the fulness of seventy years, I charge against the king of Babylon, and against that nation--an affirmation of Yahweh--their iniquity, and against the land of the Chaldeans, and have appointed it for desolations eonian."

¹⁸ Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, And its kings, its heads, To give them to waste, to astonishment, To hissing, and to reviling, as [at] this day."

⁶ Then I have given up this house as Shiloh, and this city I give up for a reviling to all nations of the earth.'"

¹⁸ `Micah the Morashtite has been prophesying in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and he said unto all the people of Judah, saying:Thus said Yahweh of Hosts:Zion is a plowed field, and Jerusalem is heaps, And the mountain of the house is for high places of a forest."

⁷ And served him have all the nations, and his son, and his son's son, till the coming in of the time of his land, also it; and done service for him have many nations and great kings."

¹⁰ `For thus said Yahweh, Surely at the fulness of Babylon--seventy years--I inspect you, and have established towards you My good word, to bring you back unto this place."

¹ How solitary sits the city once of many people! She has become like a widow who was great among nations; The chief princess among the provinces, she has become a payer of tribute."

¹⁵ And coming is it when I, Daniel, had seen the vision and am seeking for understanding, behold, standing in front of me is one having the appearance of a master." ¹⁶ I am hearing a human voice between the banks of the Ulai, and it is calling and saying, "Gabriel, make this one to understand the sight."

¹² Wherefore, due to you, Zion shall be plowed as a field, and Jerusalem shall become rubbish heaps, and the mountain of the house fane heights of a wildwood."

⁵ Say to all the people of the land, and to the priests, saying, When you fasted and wailed in the fifth and in the seventh months, even this seventy years--did you really fast to Me?

¹⁵ Whenever, then, you may be perceiving the abomination of desolation, which is declared through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let him who is reading apprehend!);"

¹⁴ Now whenever you may be perceiving the abomination of desolation, declared by Daniel the prophet, standing where it must not (let the reader apprehend), then let those in Judea flee into the mountains."

³⁴ Now answering, the eunuch said to Philip, "I beseech you, concerning whom is the prophet saying this, concerning himself or concerning some different person?

¹³ Till I come, give heed to reading, to entreaty, to teaching."

¹⁵ and that from a babe you are acquainted with the sacred scriptures which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. ¹⁶ All scripture is inspired by God, and is beneficial for teaching, for exposure, for correction, for discipline in righteousness, ¹⁷ that the man of God may be equipped, fitted out for every good act."

¹⁰ Concerning which salvation the prophets seek out and search out, who prophesy concerning the grace which is for you, ¹¹ searching into what or what manner of era the spirit of Christ in them made evident, when testifying beforehand to the sufferings pertaining to Christ and the glories after these." ¹² To whom it was revealed that, not to themselves, but to you they dispensed them, of which you were now informed through those who are bringing the evangel to you by holy spirit dispatched from heaven, into which messengers are yearning to peer."

¹⁹ And we are having the prophetic word more confirmed, which you, doing ideally, are heeding (as to a lamp appearing in a dingy place, till the day should be breaking and the morning star should be rising) in your hearts, ²⁰ knowing this first, that no prophecy of scripture at all is becoming its own explanation." ²¹ For not by the will of man was prophecy carried on at any time, but, being carried on by holy spirit, holy men of God speak."

³ Happy is he who is reading and those who are hearing the word of the prophecy, and who are keeping that which is written in it, for the era is near."

²¹ Then I proclaimed a fast there by the stream Ahava to humble ourselves before our Elohim so as to seek from Him a straight way for us and for our little ones and for all our goods.

⁵ Then at the time of the evening approach present I arose from my self-abasement and, with my garment and my robe torn on me, I bowed down on my knees and spread out my palms to Yahweh my Elohi.

⁶ When Ezra rose from his place before the House of the One, Elohim, he went to the room of Jehohanan son of Eliashib; while he lodged there, he ate no bread and drank no water, for he was mourning over the offense of the sons of deportation.

⁴ And it comes to pass, at my hearing these words, I have sat down, and I weep and mourn [for] days, and I am fasting and praying before the Elohim of the heavens. ⁵ And I say, `I beseech you, O Yahweh, Elohim of the heavens, El, the great and the fearful, keeping the covenant and kindness for those loving Him, and for those keeping His commands, <sup>6</sup> let Your ear be, I pray You, attentive, and Your eyes open, to hearken unto the prayer of Your servant, that I am praying before You to-day, by day and by night, concerning the sons of Israel Your servants, and confessing concerning the sins of the sons of Israel, that we have sinned against You; yea, I and the house of my father have sinned;" <sup>7</sup> we have acted very corruptly against You, and have not kept the commands, and the statutes, and the judgments, that You did command Moses Your servant. <sup>8</sup> `Remember, I pray You, the word that You did command Moses Your servant, saying, You--you trespass--I scatter you among peoples;" ⁹ and you have turned back unto Me, and kept My commands, and done them--if your outcast is in the end of the heavens, thence I gather them, and have brought them in unto the place that I have chosen to cause My name to tabernacle there. ¹⁰ And they [are] Your servants, and Your people, whom You have ransomed by Your great power, and by Your strong hand. ¹¹ `I beseech You, O Lord, let, I pray You, Your ear be attentive unto the prayer of Your servant, and unto the prayer of Your servants, those delighting to fear Your Name; and give prosperity, I pray You, to Your servant to-day, and give him for mercies before this man;' and I have been butler to the king.

¹ And in the twenty and fourth day of this month have the sons of Israel been gathered, with fasting, and with sackcloth, and earth upon them;"

¹ When Mordecai got knowledge of everything that had been done, Mordecai tore his clothes and put on sackcloth and ashes. Then he went forth into the midst of the city and cried out with a loud and bitter outcry, ² until he came before the king's gateway (for no one was to come into the king's gateway in clothing of sackcloth). ³ Also, in every place of the different provinces to which the king's order and his edict were attaining, there was great mourning among the Jews, with fasting and lamentation and wailing. Sackcloth and ashes became a berth for many.

¹⁶ Go, collect together all the Jews who are to be found in Susa, and fast on my behalf. Do not eat and do not drink for three days, night and day. I too with my maidens shall fast likewise. In this way I shall come in to the king, even though it is not according to the edict. And if I should perish, I shall perish.

¹³ As for me, when they were ill my clothing was sackcloth; I humbled my soul with fasting, Yet my prayer, it turned back on my bosom."

¹⁰ When I lament by the fasting of my soul, It becomes a reproach against me;" ¹¹ When I make my clothing of sackcloth, I become a proverb to them."

¹³ You Yourself shall rise; You shall have compassion on Zion, For it is the era to be gracious to her, Since the appointed time has come." ¹⁴ For Your servants hold her stones dear, And they show favor to her soil." ¹⁵ The nations shall fear the Name of Yahweh, And all the kings of the earth Your glory." ¹⁶ For Yahweh will build up Zion; He will appear in His glory. ¹⁷ He will turn toward the prayer of the forlorn, And He will not despise their prayer."

¹² And my Lord, Yahweh of hosts, will call for lamentation in that day, and for wailing, and for baldness, and for girding on sackcloth;"

¹⁰ `For thus said Yahweh, Surely at the fulness of Babylon--seventy years--I inspect you, and have established towards you My good word, to bring you back unto this place." <sup>11</sup> For I have known the thoughts that I am thinking towards you--an affirmation of Yahweh; thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give to you posterity and hope." <sup>12</sup> `And you have called Me, and have gone, and have prayed unto Me, and I have hearkened unto you, ¹³ And you have sought Me, and have found, for you seek Me with all your heart;"

³ Call unto Me, and I do answer you, yea, I declare to you great and fenced things--you have not known them."

³⁷ Thus said the Lord Yahweh:Yet this I am required, By the house of Israel to do to them, I multiply them as a flock of men,

¹⁰ When Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house. Now the windows were opened for him in his upper chamber toward Jerusalem. Thus at stated times, thrice in the day, is he kneeling on his knees and praying and acclaiming before his Eloah just as formerly--this he is doing."

² In those days I, Daniel, came to be mourning three periods of seven days:" ³ Bread of coveted qualities I do not eat, flesh and wine did not come into my mouth, with oil did I not rub myself till fulfilled are the three periods of seven days."

¹³ Gird sackcloth, and wail, priests! Howl, ministers of the altar! Come! Lodge in sackcloth, ministers of my Elohim. For the approach present and the libation are withheld from the house of your Elohim."

¹² And, moreover, now, (averring is Yahweh, your Elohim), Return unto Me with all your heart and with fasting and with lamenting and with wailing,

⁶ And the word is touching the king of Nineveh. And he is rising from his throne and is transferring his fur robe from him, and he is covering himself with sackcloth and is sitting on ashes." ⁷ And he is calling a convocation, and he is saying in Nineveh, By the decree of the king and his great ones, saying:Human and beast, herd and flock must not be tasting aught. They must not be grazing, and water they must not be drinking." ⁸ The human and the beast shall cover themselves with sackcloths. And they shall call with steadfastness to Elohim. And they shall turn back, each man, from his evil way and from the wrong which is in their palms." ⁹ Who is knowing if He will reverse, and the Elohim will regret and turn back from His hot anger, and we shall not perish?

³⁷ and she is a widow till she is eighty-four years) who does not withdraw from the sanctuary, with fasts and petitions offering divine service night and day."

³⁰ And Cornelius averred, "Four days ago unto this hour was I fasting, and at the ninth, praying in my house, and lo! a man stood before me in splendid attire,

⁸ Draw near to God, and He will be drawing near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, double-souled!" ⁹ Be wretched and mourn and lament. Let your laughter be converted into mourning, and joy into dejection." ¹⁰ Be humbled, then, in the Lord's sight, and He shall be exalting you."

¹⁶ Then confess sins to one another and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The operative petition of the just is availing much." ¹⁷ Elijah was a man of like emotions with us, and he prays in prayer for it not to rain, and it does not rain on the land three years and six months." ¹⁸ And again he prays, and heaven gives a shower and the earth germinates her fruit."

⁶ yet doing kindness to thousands, to those loving Me and observing My instructions.

⁶ Now Yahweh passed by before his face and called: Yahweh, Yahweh El, Who is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger and with much kindness and truth, ⁷ preserving kindness to thousands, bearing with depravity, transgression and sin, yet He is not immediately making innocent in order to make innocent, but visiting the depravity of the fathers on the sons and on the sons' sons, on the third and on the fourth generation.

⁴⁰ If they will confess their depravity and the depravity of their fathers in their offense (when they had offended Me and, indeed, when they had gone contrary to M. ⁴¹ so that I Myself also went contrary to them and brought them into the land of their enemies), if then their uncircumcised heart should submit, and if then they should accept their depravity, ⁴² then I will remember My covenant with Jacob and also My covenant with Isaac; also My covenant with Abraham shall I remember, and the land shall I remember.

¹⁸ Yahweh, slow to anger and with much kindness and truth, bearing with depravity and transgression and sin, yet He is not immediately making innocent in order to make innocent, but is visiting the depravity of the fathers on the sons, on the third and on the fourth generation. ¹⁹ Pardon, I pray, the depravity of this people according to the greatness of Your kindness just as You bore with this people from Egypt and hitherto.

¹⁰ yet doing kindness to thousands, to those loving Me and observing My instructions.

⁹ Then know that Yahweh your Elohim, He is the One Elohim, the El, Who is faithful, keeping the covenant and the kindness to those loving Him and to those observing His instructions for a thousand generations,

²¹ You shall not be terrified because of their presence, since Yahweh your Elohim is among you, an El great and fear-inspiring.

²³ and said, `Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, there is not an Elohim like You, in the heavens above, and on the earth beneath, keeping the covenant and the kindness for Your servants, those walking before You with all their heart,

⁴⁷ and they have turned [it] back unto their heart in the land whither they have been taken captive, and have turned back, and made supplication unto You, in the land of their captors, saying, We have sinned and done perversely--we have done wickedly;" ⁴⁸ yea, they have turned back unto You, with all their heart, and with all their soul, in the land of their enemies who have taken them captive, and have prayed unto You the way of their land, which You gave to their fathers, the city which You have chosen, and the house which I have builded for Your name. ⁴⁹ `Then You have heard in the heavens, the settled place of Your dwelling, their prayer and their supplication, and have maintained their cause,

¹⁴ and My people on whom My name is called be humbled, and pray, and seek My face, and turn back from their evil ways, then I--I hear from the heavens, and forgive their sin, and heal their land.

⁵ And I say, `I beseech you, O Yahweh, Elohim of the heavens, El, the great and the fearful, keeping the covenant and kindness for those loving Him, and for those keeping His commands,

² and the seed of Israel are separated from all sons of a stranger, and stand and confess concerning their sins, and the iniquities of their fathers, ³ and rise up on their station, and read in the book of the law of Yahweh their Elohim a fourth of the day, and a fourth they are confessing and bowing themselves to Yahweh their Elohim.

³² `And now, O our Elohim--El, the great, the mighty, and the fearful, keeping the covenant and the kindness--let not all the travail that has found us be little before You, for our kings, for our heads, and for our priests, and for our prophets, and for our fathers, and for all Your people, from the days of the kings of Asshur unto this day;"

⁵ I am now acknowledging my sin to You, And I do not cover over my depravity. I said, I shall confess against myself my transgressions to Yahweh, And You, You lift away the depravity of my sin. {Interlude{ "

¹³ Only, know your iniquity, For against Yahweh your Elohim you have transgressed, And you do scatter your ways to strangers, Under every green tree, And to My voice you have not hearkened, An affirmation of Yahweh."

¹⁷ `Ah, Lord Yahweh, lo, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power, and by Your stretched-out arm; there is nothing too wonderful for You:" ¹⁸ Doing kindness to thousands, and recompensing iniquity of fathers into the bosom of their sons after them; El, the great, the mighty, Yahweh of Hosts [is] His name, ¹⁹ Great in counsel, and mighty in act, in that Your eyes are open on all the ways of the sons of Adam, to give to each according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings:"

¹⁸ Who is an El as You are, bearing with depravity, and passing over transgression, for the remnant of His allotment? He does not hold fast His anger for the future. For He delights in kindness." ¹⁹ He will return, having compassion on us. He will subdue our depravities. And You wilt fling into the shadowy depths of the sea all our sins." ²⁰ You wilt render the truth to Jacob, the kindness to Abraham, which You swear to our forefathers from days aforetime."

² An El, jealous and avenging, is Yahweh. An avenger is Yahweh, and possessor of fury. An avenger is Yahweh to His foes, and a transporter is He of his enemies." ³ Yahweh is slow to anger, and great in vigor, and verily He will not make innocent. Yahweh has His way in the sweeping whirlwind and in the horror, and a cloud is the dust of His feet." ⁴ He is rebuking the sea, and is drying it, and all the streams He drains. Enfeebled is Bashan and Carmel, and the bud of Lebanon is enfeebled." ⁵ The mountains quake because of Him, and the hills dissolve. The earth is upheaving because of His presence, and the habitance and all dwelling in it." ⁶ Before His menace, who will stand? And who will rise in the heat of His anger? His fury is poured forth as fire, and the rocks are broken down because of Him." ⁷ Yahweh is good for a stronghold in the day of distress, and He is knowing those taking refuge in Him."

⁷² To do mercy with our fathers, And to be reminded of His holy covenant,

²⁸ Now we are aware that God is working all together for the good of those who are loving God, who are called according to the purpose"

¹² Happy is the man who is enduring trial, for, becoming qualified, he will be obtaining the wreath of life, which He promises to those loving Him."

⁵ Hear, my beloved brethren! Does not God choose the poor in the world, rich in faith and enjoyers of the allotment of the kingdom which He promises to those who are loving Him?

⁸ If we should be saying that we have no sin we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us." ⁹ If we should be avowing our sins, He is faithful and just that He may be pardoning us our sins and should be cleansing us from all injustice." ¹⁰ If we should be saying that we have not sinned, we are making Him a liar, and His word is not in us."

² In this we know that we are loving the children of God, whenever we may be loving God and may be doing His precepts." ³ For this is the love of God, that we may be keeping His precepts. And His precepts are not heavy,

⁴⁷ and they have turned [it] back unto their heart in the land whither they have been taken captive, and have turned back, and made supplication unto You, in the land of their captors, saying, We have sinned and done perversely--we have done wickedly;" ⁴⁸ yea, they have turned back unto You, with all their heart, and with all their soul, in the land of their enemies who have taken them captive, and have prayed unto You the way of their land, which You gave to their fathers, the city which You have chosen, and the house which I have builded for Your name. ⁴⁹ `Then You have heard in the heavens, the settled place of Your dwelling, their prayer and their supplication, and have maintained their cause, ⁵⁰ and have forgiven Your people who have sinned against You, even all their transgressions which they have transgressed against You, and have given them mercies before their captors, and they have had mercy [on] them-.

³⁷ and they have turned [it] back unto their heart in the land whither they have been taken captive, and have turned back, and made supplication unto You in the land of their captivity, saying, We have sinned, we have done perversely, and have done wickedly;" ³⁸ yea, they have turned back unto You with all their heart, and with all their soul, in the land of their captivity, whither they have taken them captive, and they have prayed the way of their land that You have given to their fathers, and of the city that You have chosen, and of the house that I have built for Your name. ³⁹ then You have heard from the heavens, from the settled place of Your dwelling, their prayer and their supplications, and have maintained their cause, and forgiven Your people who have sinned against You.

⁶ and said:My Elohim, I am ashamed and confounded to raise up my face to You, my Elohim, for our depravities, they are abundant, above our heads, and our guilt is towering unto the heavens.

⁶ let Your ear be, I pray You, attentive, and Your eyes open, to hearken unto the prayer of Your servant, that I am praying before You to-day, by day and by night, concerning the sons of Israel Your servants, and confessing concerning the sins of the sons of Israel, that we have sinned against You; yea, I and the house of my father have sinned;" ⁷ we have acted very corruptly against You, and have not kept the commands, and the statutes, and the judgments, that You did command Moses Your servant. ⁸ `Remember, I pray You, the word that You did command Moses Your servant, saying, You--you trespass--I scatter you among peoples;"

³³ and You [are] righteous concerning all that has come upon us, for truth You have done, and we have done wickedly;" ³⁴ and our kings, our heads, our priests, and our fathers, have not done Your law, nor attended unto Your commands, and to Your testimonies, that You have testified against them;"

²¹ For I have kept the ways of Yahweh, And I have not been wicked by turning from my Elohim."

⁶ We have sinned with our fathers; We have sown depravity; We have acted wickedly.

¹⁰² 2 I do not withdraw from Your ordinances, For You Yourself direct me."

⁶ All of us, as a flockling, have strayed; each man to his own way, we face, yet Yahweh, in Him, intercedes because of all our depravity."

¹³ Transgression and dissimulation against Yahweh, and turning away from following our Elohim, speaking perversity and stubbornness, pregnant with and soliloquizing from the heart, words of falsehood."

⁵ You come upon the elated and the doer of righteousness. In Your ways are they remembering You. Behold! You are wroth when we are sinning. Against You from the eon also are we transgressing. ⁶ And we are becoming as unclean, all of us, and as an ornamented garment is all our righteousness. And we are decaying as a leaf, all of us, and our depravities, as the wind, are carrying us away." ⁷ And no one is calling on Your name, rousing himself to hold fast to You, for You conceal Your face from us, and You are dissolving us by means of our depravities."

²⁵ We have lain down in our shame, and cover us does our confusion, For against Yahweh our Elohim we have sinned, We, and our fathers, from our youth even unto this day, Nor have we hearkened to the voice of Yahweh our Elohim!"

⁷ Surely our iniquities have testified against us, O Yahweh, work for Your name's sake, For many have been our backslidings, Against You we have sinned."

²⁰ See O Yahweh, that distress is mine; my bowels, they are in turmoil; My heart is overturned within me, for I have rebelled, yea rebelled; Outside the sword bereaves; in the house it is like death."

⁹ And remembered Me have your escaped among nations, Whither they have been taken captive, Because I have been broken with their heart that is going a-whoring, That has turned aside from off Me, And with their eyes they are going a-whoring after their idols, And they have been loathsome in their own faces, For the evils that they have done--all their abominations."

¹¹ All Israel--they trespass against Thy law to withdraw so as not to hearken to Thy voice. Hence pouring forth on us is the imprecation and the oath which is written in the law of Moses, the servant of Elohim; for we sin against Him."

¹⁵ And now, my Lord our Elohim, Who brought Thy people forth from the land of Egypt with a steadfast hand, and art making for Thyself a name as at this day; we sin, we are wicked."

² The start of the word of Yahweh by Hosea:And Yahweh is saying to Hosea, Go, take to you a wife of prostitutions and children of prostitutions, for the land is verily committing prostitution rather than following Yahweh."

⁷ From the days of your forefathers, you withdrew from My statutes and do not keep them. Return to Me, and I will return to you, says Yahweh of hosts. Yet you say, In what way shall we return?

¹² Beware, brethren, lest at some time there shall be in any one of you a wicked heart of unbelief, in withdrawing from the living God."

¹³ And Yahweh testifies against Israel, and against Judah, by the hand of every prophet, and every seer, saying, `Turn back from your evil ways, and keep My commands, My statutes, according to all the law that I commanded your fathers, and that I sent unto you by the hand of My servants the prophets;. ¹⁴ and they have not hearkened, and harden their neck, like the neck of their fathers, who did not remain stedfast in Yahweh their Elohim,

¹⁰ And Yahweh speaks unto Manasseh and unto his people, and they have not attended,

¹⁵ And Yahweh, Elohim of their fathers, sends unto them by the hand of His messengers--rising early and sending--for He has had pity on His people, and on His habitation, ¹⁶ and they are mocking at the messengers of Elohim, and despising His words, and acting deceitfully with His prophets, till the going up of the fury of Yahweh against His people--till there is no healing.

⁷ From the days of our fathers we have been in great guilt until this day; because of our depravities we ourselves, our kings, our priests have been given into the hand of the kings of the countries, to the sword, to captivity, to plundering and to shame of face, just as this day.

³⁴ and our kings, our heads, our priests, and our fathers, have not done Your law, nor attended unto Your commands, and to Your testimonies, that You have testified against them;"

¹⁰ who say to the seers, "You shall not direct us!And to the vision seers, "You shall not perceive correctives for us! Speak to us slick things, perceive trifles." ¹¹ Withdraw from the way, turn aside from the path. Eradicate from our face the Holy One of Israel."

¹⁶ Thus said Yahweh:Stand you by the ways and see, and ask for paths of old, Where [is] this--the good way? and go you in it, And find rest for yourselves. And they say, `We do not go.'" <sup>17</sup> And I have raised up for you watchmen, Attend you to the voice of the trumpet. And they say, `We do not attend.'"

¹³ And now, because of your doing all these works, An affirmation of Yahweh, And I speak unto you, rising early and speaking, And you have not hearkened, And I call you, and you have not answered,

²⁵ Even from the day when your fathers Went out of the land of Egypt till this day, I send to you all my servants the prophets, Daily rising early and sending, ²⁶ And they have not hearkened unto Me, Nor inclined their ear, and harden their neck, They have done evil above their fathers."

³ `From the thirteenth year of Josiah son of Amon king of Judah, and unto this day--this three and twentieth year--has the word of Yahweh been unto me, and I speak unto you, rising early and speaking, and you have not hearkened;" <sup>4</sup> And Yahweh has sent unto you all His servants, the prophets, rising early and sending, and you have not hearkened, nor inclined your ear to hear, saying:" <sup>5</sup> `Turn back, I pray you, each from his evil way, and from the evil of your doings, and dwell on the ground that Yahweh has given to you and to your fathers from eon unto eon, ⁶ And you do not go after other elohims to serve them, and to bow yourselves to them, nor do you provoke Me to anger with the work of your hands, and I do no evil to you;" ⁷ And you have not hearkened unto Me--an affirmation of Yahweh--so as to provoke Me to anger with the work of your hands for evil to you.

⁵ To hearken to the words of My servants the prophets, whom I am sending unto you, yea, rising early and sending, and you have not hearkened,

¹⁹ Because that they have not hearkened unto My words--an affirmation of Yahweh--that I sent unto them by My servants the prophets, rising early and sending, and you hearkened not--an affirmation of Yahweh."

³² Because of all the evil of the sons of Israel, and of the sons of Judah that they have done, so as to provoke Me--they, their kings, their heads, their priests, and their prophets, and the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem." ³³ And they turn unto Me the neck, and not the face, and teaching them, rising early and teaching, and they are not hearkening to accept instruction."

⁴ `And I send unto you all my servants, the prophets, rising early and sending, saying:I pray you, do not this abomination that I have hated--" ⁵ and they have not hearkened nor inclined their ear, to turn back from their wickedness, not to make perfume to other elohims,

¹⁶ `The word that you have spoken unto us in the name of Yahweh--we are not hearkening unto you;

¹⁰ We do not hearken to the voice of Yahweh our Elohim, to go in His laws which He sets before us by the hand of His servants the prophets."

⁴ You must not become as your forefathers, to whom the former prophets called saying, Thus says Yahweh of hosts:Return, I pray, from your evil ways, and from your evil actions. Yet they hearkened not, and they attended not to Me, (averring is Yahweh)." ⁵ Your forefathers, where are they? And the prophets, are they living for the eon? ⁶ Yea, My words and My statutes, which you have received, which I instruct, by My spirit, My servants the prophets, did they not overtake your forefathers? And they are turning away and are saying:Just as Yahweh of hosts plans to do to us, as fits our ways and our actions, so He does with us."

⁸ Then the word of Yahweh is coming to Zechariah, saying, ⁹ Thus speaks Yahweh of hosts, saying:Judge with true judgment, and with kindness and compassion deal each man with his brother, ¹⁰ and you must not extort from a widow or orphan or the sojourner or the humble. And you must not devise evil, each man to his brother, in your heart." ¹¹ Yet they are refusing to attend, and they are giving a stubborn shoulder, and their ears they make heavy against hearing, ¹² and their hearts they make corundum against hearing the law and the words which Yahweh of hosts sent by His spirit, by the hand of the former prophets. And great wrath is coming from Yahweh of hosts."

³⁴ Now when the season of the fruits draws near, he dispatches his slaves to the farmers to be getting his fruits." ³⁵ And the farmers, taking his slaves, indeed, lash one, yet kill one, yet pelt one with stones." ³⁶ Again he dispatches other slaves, more than the first. And they do to them similarly." ³⁷ Yet subsequently he dispatches to them his son, saying, 'They will be respecting my son.'" ³⁸ Yet the farmers, perceiving the son, said among themselves, 'This is the enjoyer of the allotment. Hither! We should be killing him and have the enjoyment of his allotment.'" ³⁹ And taking him they cast him out of the vineyard and kill him. ⁴⁰ Whenever, then, the lord of the vineyard may be coming, what will he be doing to those farmers?

³⁷ Jerusalem! Jerusalem! who art killing the prophets and pelting with stones those who have been dispatched to her! How many times do I want to assemble your children in the manner a hen is assembling her brood under her wings-and you will not!"

¹⁰ And in season he dispatches to the farmers a slave, that they shall give him of the fruit of the vineyard. Yet the farmers, lashing him, send him away empty." ¹¹ And, in addition, he sent a different slave. Yet that one also, lashing and dishonoring, those men send away empty." ¹² And, in addition, he sent a third. Yet wounding this one also, those men cast him out."

⁵¹ Stiff-necked and uncircumcised in your hearts and ears, you are ever clashing with the holy spirit! As your fathers, you also!" ⁵² Which of the prophets do not your fathers persecute? And they kill those who announce before concerning the coming of the Just One, of Whom now you became the traitors and murderers -"

²⁷ For those dwelling in Jerusalem and their chiefs, being ignorant of Him and of the voices of the prophets which are read on every sabbath, fulfill them in judging Him."

¹⁵ who kill the Lord Jesus as well as the prophets, and banish us, and are not pleasing to God, and are contrary to all men, ¹⁶ forbidding us to speak to the nations that they may be saved, to fill up their sins always. Yet the indignation outstrips to them to a consummation."

³³ And you I shall winnow among the nations, and I will unsheathe a sword after you so that your land will become a desolation and your cities become a desert. ³⁴ Then the land shall accept its sabbaths all the days of its desolation when you are in the land of your enemies. Then the land shall pause for a sabbath and cause its missing sabbaths to be accepted.

²⁷ Yahweh will cause you to scatter among the peoples, and you will remain adult males of a small number among the nations where Yahweh shall lead you.

⁴ The Rock--flawless is His contrivance, for all His ways are righteous judgment. The El of faithfulness and without iniquity; just and upright is He.

⁶ in the ninth year of Hoshea has the king of Asshur captured Samaria, and removes Israel to Asshur, and causes them to dwell in Halah, and in Habor, [by] the river Gozan, and [in] the cities of the Medes. ⁷ And it comes to pass, because the sons of Israel have sinned against Yahweh their Elohim--who brings them up out of the land of Egypt, from under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt--and fear other elohims,

⁶ and said:My Elohim, I am ashamed and confounded to raise up my face to You, my Elohim, for our depravities, they are abundant, above our heads, and our guilt is towering unto the heavens. ⁷ From the days of our fathers we have been in great guilt until this day; because of our depravities we ourselves, our kings, our priests have been given into the hand of the kings of the countries, to the sword, to captivity, to plundering and to shame of face, just as this day.

¹³ After all that has come over us because of our evil deeds and our great guilt--though You, O our Elohim, have kept back, punishing us less than our depravity deserves, and You have given us a deliverance, such as this-.

³³ and You [are] righteous concerning all that has come upon us, for truth You have done, and we have done wickedly;"

¹⁵ The entire day my mortifying is in front of me, And shame, it has covered my face,

⁴ Against You, against You alone have I sinned And done what is evil in Your eyes, So that You may be justified when You speak, And be cleared when You judge."

¹⁴ Rescue me from bloodguilt, O Elohim, the Elohim of my salvation, That my tongue may be jubilant at Your righteousness."

¹³⁷ You are righteous, O Yahweh, And Your judgments are upright."

¹¹ And it comes, in that day, Yahweh will proceed to lift up His hand, to be zealous for the remnant of His people which will remain, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Babylon, and from Pathros, and from Ethiopia, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from Arabia, and from the coastlands of the sea."

¹⁶ They are ashamed and even confounded, all of them together. And they go into confounding, artificers of forms."

²⁶ As the shame of a thief when he is found, So put to shame have been the house of Israel, They, their kings, their heads, And their priests, and their prophets, ²⁷ Saying to wood, `My father [are] you!' And to a stone, `You have brought me forth,' For they turned unto me the back and not the face, And in the time of their vexation, They say, `Arise You, and save us.'"

¹ Righteous [are] You, O Yahweh, When I plead towards you, Only, judgments do I speak with You, Wherefore did the way of the wicked prosper? At rest have been all treacherous dealers."

⁹ And I have given them for a trembling, For evil--to all kingdoms of the earth, For a reproach, and for a simile, For a byword, and for a reviling, In all the places whither I drive them."

⁶³ So that you do remember, And you have been ashamed, And there is not to you any more an opening of the mouth because of your shame, In My receiving atonement for you, For all that you have done, An affirmation of the Lord Yahweh!'"

³¹ And you have remembered your ways that [are] evil, And your doings that [are] not good, And have been loathsome in your own faces, For your iniquities, and for your abominations."

⁸ To Thee, Yahweh, is righteousness, yet to us is shamefacedness:To our kings, to our chiefs, to our forefathers, who sin against Thee."

¹⁴ Alert is Yahweh over the evil, and He is bringing it on us. Just is Yahweh our Elohim in all His doings which He does; yet we do not hearken to His voice."

⁹ For behold! I am instructing, and I will jerk the house of Israel to and fro, among all nations, just as grain in a sieve is jerked to and fro, yet a pouch-full shall not fall to the earth."

⁴⁰ Yet answering, the other one, rebuking him, averred, "Yet you are not fearing God, seeing that you are in the same judgment!" ⁴¹ And we, indeed, justly, for we are getting back the deserts of what we commit, yet this One commits nothing amiss."

⁵ Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem, Jews, pious men from every nation under heaven." ⁶ Now when this sound occurs, the multitude came together and was confused, for each one hears them speaking in his own vernacular." ⁷ Now they are all amazed, and marveled, saying, "Lo! are not all these who are speaking, Galileans? ⁸ And how are we hearing, each in our own vernacular in which we were born? ⁹ Parthians and Medes and Elamites and those dwelling in Mesopotamia, Judea, as well as Cappadocia, Pontus, and the province of Asia, ¹⁰ Phrygia, Pamphylia, Egypt, and the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and the repatriated Romans, both Jews and proselytes, ¹¹ Cretans and Arabs - we are hearing them speaking in these languages of ours of the great things of God!"

²¹ What fruit, then, had you then? - of which you are now ashamed, for, indeed, the consummation of those things is death."

²⁰ We have known, O Yahweh, our wickedness, The iniquity of our fathers, For we have sinned against You."

⁷ Jerusalem remembers in the days of her humiliation and her homelessness, all her coveted things that were from days of long ago, When her people fell into the hand of the foe, and there was no help for her. The foes saw her; they made sport of her dissolution." ⁸ A sin has Jerusalem sinned; therefore she has become an isolated woman; All who glorified her count her abject, for they have seen her nakedness; Indeed she herself sighs and turns away back."

¹⁸ Yahweh, He is righteous, for I have rebelled against His bidding; Hearken now all you peoples, and see my pain; My virgins and my choice young men, they have gone into captivity."

⁴² We have transgressed and rebelled; You have not pardoned;

¹⁶ The crown has fallen from our head; woe to us that we have sinned!

⁶ We do not hearken to Thy servants the prophets, who speak in Thy name to our kings, our chiefs, our forefathers and to all the people of the land." ⁷ To Thee, my Lord, is righteousness, yet to us is shamefacedness as at this day:To each man of Judah, to the dwellers of Jerusalem, to all the people of Israel, the near and the far, in all the lands where Thou hast expelled them for their offense with which they offend Thee."

¹⁷ yea, they refuse to hearken, and have not remembered Your wonders that You have done with them, and harden their neck and appoint a head, to turn back to their service, in their rebellion; and You [are] a Eloah of pardons, gracious, and merciful, long-suffering, and abundant in kindness, and have not forsaken them. ¹⁸ `Also, when they have made to themselves a molten calf, and say, this [is] your elohim that brought you up out of Egypt, and do great despisings, ¹⁹ and You, in Your abundant mercies, have not forsaken them in the wilderness--the pillar of the cloud has not turned aside from off them by day, to lead them in the way, and the pillar of the fire by night, to give light to them and the way in which they go.

²⁶ `And they are disobedient, and rebel against You, and cast Your law behind their back, and Your prophets they have slain, who testified against them, to bring them back unto You, and they do great despisings, <sup>27</sup> and You give them into the hand of their adversaries, and they distress them, and in the time of their distress they cry unto You, and You, from the heavens, do hear, and, according to Your abundant mercies, do give to them saviours, and they save them out of the hand of their adversaries. <sup>28</sup> `And when they have rest, they turn back to do evil before You, and You do leave them in the hand of their enemies, and they rule over them; and they turn back, and call You, and You from the heavens do hear, and do deliver them, according to Your mercies, many times,

³¹ and in Your abundant mercies You have not made them a consumption, nor have forsaken them; for a El, gracious and merciful, [are] You.

¹² And to You, O Yahweh belongs benignity, For You Yourself shall pay each man according to his deeds."

⁵ For You, O Yahweh, are good and pardoning, And with much benignity to all calling on You."

¹⁵ Yet You, O Yahweh, are an El compassionate and gracious, Slow to anger and with much benignity and faithfulness."

⁴³ Many times He rescued them, But they were rebellious in their counsel, And they were reduced lower in their depravity." ⁴⁴ Yet He saw their distress, On His hearing of their appeal, ⁴⁵ And, for them, He remembered His covenant, So that He was merciful according to His many benignities."

⁴ For with You is pardon That You may be devoutly feared.

⁷ Wait, Israel, for Yahweh, For with Yahweh is benignity, And with Him abundant ransom."

⁸ Gracious and compassionate is Yahweh, Slow to anger and with great benignity." ⁹ Yahweh is good to all, And His compassions are over all His works."

⁷ Forsake shall the wicked one his way, and the lawless man his devices, and he shall return to Yahweh, and He will have compassion on him, and to our Elohim, for he will increasingly pardon your sins."

⁷ The kindnesses of Yahweh will I mention, the praises of Yahweh, according to all which Yahweh requites us, and the vast good to the house of Israel which He requites them, according to His compassions, and according to His many kindnesses."

²² It is by Yahweh's benignities that we have not come to end, that His compassions are not finished;" ²³ They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness;

⁸ And--they rebel against Me, And have not been willing to hearken to Me, Each, the detestable things of their eyes, They have not cast away, And the idols of Egypt have not forsaken, And I say--to pour out My fury on them, To complete Mine anger against them, In the midst of the land of Egypt." ⁹ And I do [it] for My name's sake, Not to pollute [it] before the eyes of the nations, In whose midst they [are], Before whose eyes I became known to them, To bring them out from the land of Egypt."

¹³ And--rebel against me do the house of Israel in the wilderness, In My statutes they have not walked, And My judgments they have despised, Which the man who does--lives by them. And My sabbaths they have greatly polluted, And I say to pour out My fury on them in the wilderness, to consume them."

⁵ We sin and we are depraved, we do wickedly and revolt, we withdraw from Thy instructions and from Thy judgments."

⁷ To Thee, my Lord, is righteousness, yet to us is shamefacedness as at this day:To each man of Judah, to the dwellers of Jerusalem, to all the people of Israel, the near and the far, in all the lands where Thou hast expelled them for their offense with which they offend Thee."

² And he is praying to Yahweh and saying, Oh Yahweh! Was not this my word while still I came to be on my own ground? Therefore I forestalled by running away to Tharshish, for I know that You are a gracious El, and compassionate, slow to anger and of much kindness, and regretting concerning the evil."

¹⁸ Who is an El as You are, bearing with depravity, and passing over transgression, for the remnant of His allotment? He does not hold fast His anger for the future. For He delights in kindness." ¹⁹ He will return, having compassion on us. He will subdue our depravities. And You wilt fling into the shadowy depths of the sea all our sins."

⁶ for the laud of the glory of His grace, which graces us in the Beloved:" ⁷ in Whom we are having the deliverance through His blood, the forgiveness of offenses in accord with the riches of His grace, ⁸ which He lavishes on us; in all wisdom and prudence

⁴ yet God, being rich in mercy, because of His vast love with which He loves us" ⁵ (we also being dead to the offenses and the lusts), vivifies us together in Christ (in grace are you saved!)" ⁶ and rouses us together and seats us together among the celestials, in Christ Jesus, ⁷ that, in the oncoming eons, He should be displaying the transcendent riches of His grace in His kindness to us in Christ Jesus."

¹³ And Yahweh testifies against Israel, and against Judah, by the hand of every prophet, and every seer, saying, `Turn back from your evil ways, and keep My commands, My statutes, according to all the law that I commanded your fathers, and that I sent unto you by the hand of My servants the prophets;. ¹⁴ and they have not hearkened, and harden their neck, like the neck of their fathers, who did not remain stedfast in Yahweh their Elohim, ¹⁵ and reject His statutes and His covenant that He made with their fathers, and His testimonies that He testified against them, and go after the vain thing, and become vain, and after the nations that are round about them, of whom Yahweh commanded them not to do like them;"

¹² because that they have not hearkened to the voice of Yahweh their Elohim, and transgress His covenant--all that He commanded Moses, servant of Yahweh--yea, they have not hearkened nor done [it].

¹⁰ And now, what shall we say after this, O our Elohim? For we have forsaken Your instruction. ¹¹ that You enjoined on us by means of Your servants the prophets, saying, The land that you are entering to tenant it, a land of impurity is it, because of the impurity of the peoples of the countries and their abhorrences with which they have filled it from edge to edge with their uncleanness.

¹³ `And on mount Sinai You have come down, even to speak with them from the heavens, and You do give to them right judgments, and true laws, good statutes and commands. <sup>14</sup> And Your holy sabbath You have made known to them, and commands, and statutes, and law, You have commanded for them, by the hand of Moses Your servant;" <sup>15</sup> and bread from the heavens You have given to them for their hunger, and water from a rock have brought out to them for their thirst, and do say to them to go in to possess the land that You have lifted up Your hand to give to them. <sup>16</sup> `And they and our fathers have acted proudly, and harden their neck, and have not hearkened unto Your commands, ¹⁷ yea, they refuse to hearken, and have not remembered Your wonders that You have done with them, and harden their neck and appoint a head, to turn back to their service, in their rebellion; and You [are] a Eloah of pardons, gracious, and merciful, long-suffering, and abundant in kindness, and have not forsaken them.

⁶ We do not hearken to Thy servants the prophets, who speak in Thy name to our kings, our chiefs, our forefathers and to all the people of the land."

¹ By many portions and many modes, of old, God, speaking to the fathers in the prophets,

¹⁴ Yet if you neither hearken to Me nor observe all these instructions, ¹⁵ and if you reject My statutes, and if your soul loathes My judgments so as not to observe all My instructions, to cause you to annul My covenant, ¹⁶ indeed, I Myself shall do this to you:I will visit panic upon you, attenuation and fever, making the eyesight vanish and causing the soul to pine; and you will sow your seed for naught, for your enemies will eat it. ¹⁷ I will set My face against you, and you will be struck down before your enemies; those hating you will hold sway over you, and you will flee even when there is no one pursuing you. ¹⁸ And if, after these things, you should not hearken to Me, then I will continue to discipline you sevenfold for your sins. ¹⁹ I will break the pomp of your strength and make your heavens like iron and your land like copper. ²⁰ Your vigor will be spent for naught, and your land shall not give its crop, and the tree of the field shall not give its fruit. ²¹ If you go contrary to Me and are not willing to hearken to Me, then I will add smitings to you sevenfold according to your sins. ²² I will send the animal of the field against you, and it will bereave you, cut off your domestic beasts and so decrease you that your roads will be desolated. ²³ If by these you should not be disciplined for Me and go contrary to Me, ²⁴ then I will, indeed, go contrary to you, and I Myself will even smite you sevenfold for your sins. ²⁵ I will bring the sword on you avenging the vengeance of the covenant. When you will be gathered into your cities then I will send the plague into your midst, and you will be given into the hand of the enemy. ²⁶ When I break the stock of bread for you then ten women will bake your bread in one stove and return your bread by weight so that you will eat and not be satisfied. ²⁷ If by this you should not hearken to Me and go contrary to Me, ²⁸ then I will go contrary to you in fury. And I Myself, indeed, will discipline you sevenfold for your sins. ²⁹ You will eat the flesh of your sons, and the flesh of your daughters shall you eat. ³⁰ I will exterminate your fane heights, cut down your incense stands and bestow your corpses upon the corpses of your idol clods; thus My soul will loathe you. ³¹ I will turn your cities into a desert and make your sanctuary desolate; I shall not smell your fragrant odor. ³² I will make the land so desolate, that your enemies, the ones dwelling in it, will be dejected over it. ³³ And you I shall winnow among the nations, and I will unsheathe a sword after you so that your land will become a desolation and your cities become a desert. ³⁴ Then the land shall accept its sabbaths all the days of its desolation when you are in the land of your enemies. Then the land shall pause for a sabbath and cause its missing sabbaths to be accepted. ³⁵ All the days of its desolation it shall pause for a sabbath, which days it did not pause in your sabbath years when you dwelt on it. ³⁶ As for the remainder among you, I will also bring timidity into their heart in the lands of their enemies so that the sound of a leaf being whisked away will pursue them, and they will flee as if in flight from the sword; they will fall even when there is no one pursuing. ³⁷ They will stumble, a man over his brother, as though in view of the sword when there is no pursuer, and you shall come to have no standing space before your enemies. ³⁸ You will perish among the nations, and the land of your enemies will devour you. ³⁹ The remainder among you shall be putrid over their depravity in the lands of your enemies, and also over the depravities of their fathers with them shall they be putrid. ⁴⁰ If they will confess their depravity and the depravity of their fathers in their offense (when they had offended Me and, indeed, when they had gone contrary to M. ⁴¹ so that I Myself also went contrary to them and brought them into the land of their enemies), if then their uncircumcised heart should submit, and if then they should accept their depravity, ⁴² then I will remember My covenant with Jacob and also My covenant with Isaac; also My covenant with Abraham shall I remember, and the land shall I remember. ⁴³ Yet the land, it shall be forsaken of them and shall accept its sabbath years while it is desolate without them, and they themselves shall accept their depravity because, yes because they had rejected My judgments and their soul had loathed My statutes. ⁴⁴ Yet in spite of this, when they are in the land of their enemies I will not reject them nor loathe them so as to finish them, to annul My covenant with them, for I, Yahweh, am their Elohim. ⁴⁵ For their benefit I will remember the covenant with the former ones whom I brought forth from the land of Egypt before the eyes of the nations to be their Elohim; I am Yahweh. ⁴⁶ These are the statutes, the judgments and the laws which Yahweh put between Him and the sons of Israel on Mount Sinai by means of Moses.

¹⁵ Cursed be the man who makes a carving or a molten image, an abhorrence to Yahweh, the work of an artificer's hands, and places it in concealment. Then all the people will respond and say:Amen!" ¹⁶ Cursed be the one dishonoring his father or his mother. Then all the people shall say:Amen! ¹⁷ Cursed be the one moving the boundary marker of his associate. Then all the people will say:Amen! ¹⁸ Cursed be the one causing the blind to err on the road. Then all the people will say:Amen! ¹⁹ Cursed be the one turning aside the judgment of the sojourner, the orphan or the widow. Then all the people will say:Amen!" ²⁰ Cursed be the one lying with the wife of his father, for he exposes his father's hem. Then all the people will say:Amen!" ²¹ Cursed be the one lying with any beast. Then all the people will say:Amen! ²² Cursed be the one lying with his sister, the daughter of his father or the daughter of his mother. Then all the people will say:Amen!" ²³ Cursed be the one lying with his sister-in-law. Then all the people will say:Amen! ²⁴ Cursed be the one smiting his associate in concealment. Then all the people will say:Amen! ²⁵ Cursed be the one taking a bribe to smite a soul of innocent blood. Then all the people will say:Amen! ²⁶ Cursed be the one who is not performing all the words of this law to do them. Then all the people will say:Amen!

¹⁵ It will come to be if you do not hearken to the voice of Yahweh your Elohim to observe and to do all His instructions and His statutes that I am enjoining on you today, that all these maledictions will come on you and overtake you. ¹⁶ Cursed be you in the city, and cursed be you in the field. ¹⁷ Cursed be your basket and your kneading-trough. ¹⁸ Cursed be the fruit of your belly, the fruit of your ground and the fruit of your beast, the calving of your domestic animals and the lambing of your flock. ¹⁹ Cursed be you in your coming in, and cursed be you in your going forth. ²⁰ Yahweh shall send the curse, the discomfiture and the rebuke on you in every undertaking of your hand that you shall do, until you are exterminated and you perish quickly, in view of the evil of your actions in which you have forsaken Me. ²¹ Yahweh shall cause the plague to cling to you until He finishes you off the ground where you are entering to tenant it. ²² Yahweh shall smite you with attenuation, with fever and inflammation, with hot heat and drought, with blasting and mildew, and they will pursue you until you perish. ²³ Your heavens that are over your head will come to be as copper, and the earth that is beneath you as iron. ²⁴ Yahweh shall make the rain of your land to be dust and soil-drifts; from the heavens it shall descend on you until you are exterminated. ²⁵ Yahweh shall make you to be struck down before your enemies. By a single road shall you go forth to them, and by seven roads shall you flee before them. So you will become an object of commotion to all the kingdoms of the earth. ²⁶ Your carcass will become food for every flyer of the heavens and for the beast of the earth, and there will be no one causing them to tremble. ²⁷ Yahweh shall smite you with the boil of Egypt, with piles, with eczema and with the itch, from which you cannot be healed. ²⁸ Yahweh shall smite you with madness, with blindness and with derangement of heart;" ²⁹ and you will come to be groping at noon just as the blind one gropes in the gloom, and you shall not prosper in your ways and will only become extorted and pillaged all the days, and there will be no saviour. ³⁰ A wife shall you betroth, yet another man shall ravish her. A house shall you build, yet you shall not dwell in it. A vineyard shall you plant, yet you shall not take it for profane use. ³¹ Your bull shall be slaughtered before your eyes, yet you shall not eat of it. Your donkey shall be snatched from before you, yet it shall not return to you. Your flock shall be given to your enemies, yet there will be no saviour for you. ³² Your sons and your daughters shall be given to another people, and your eyes shall be staring and wasting away for them all the day, yet there will be nothing at the disposal of your hand. ³³ A people you do not know shall devour the fruit of your ground and all your labor, and you will surely be extorted and bruised all the days, ³⁴ so that you will become mad because of the sight of your eyes that you shall see. ³⁵ Yahweh shall smite you with an evil boil on both the knees and on both the legs, of which you cannot be healed, from the sole of your foot and unto your scalp. ³⁶ Yahweh shall conduct you and your king, whom you shall set up over you, to a nation whom you have not known, neither you nor your fathers, and you will serve there other elohim of wood and stone. ³⁷ You will become an object of astonishment, a proverb and a byword among all the peoples where Yahweh shall lead you. ³⁸ Much seed shall you bring forth to the field, yet little shall you gather, for the locust shall eat it up. ³⁹ You shall plant vineyards, and you will service them, yet you shall neither drink the wine, nor shall you hoard it, for the worm shall devour it. ⁴⁰ You shall come to have olives in all your territory, yet you shall not rub yourself with oil because your olives shall drop off. ⁴¹ You shall generate sons and daughters, yet they shall not become yours, for they shall go into captivity. ⁴² The cicada shall make all your trees and the fruit of your ground destitute. ⁴³ The sojourner who is among you shall ascend over you upward and upward, yet you shall descend downward and downward. ⁴⁴ He shall obligate you, yet you shall not obligate him. He shall become the head, and you shall become the tail. ⁴⁵ All the maledictions will come on you, and they will pursue you and overtake you until you are exterminated, for you would not hearken to the voice of Yahweh your Elohim to observe His instructions and His statutes that He enjoined on you. ⁴⁶ They will be a sign and a miracle against you and your seed until the eon. ⁴⁷ Inasmuch as you would not serve Yahweh your Elohim with rejoicing and with goodness of heart over the abundance of everything, ⁴⁸ then you will serve your enemies whom Yahweh shall send forth against you, in famine and in thirst, in nakedness and in lack of everything. He will put an iron yoke on your neck until He has exterminated you. ⁴⁹ Yahweh shall lift up against you a nation from afar, from the end of the earth, just as the vulture swoops down, a nation whose tongue you have not heard, ⁵⁰ a nation strong of face who neither lifts the face of the old one with partiality nor is gracious to the youth. ⁵¹ It will devour the fruit of your beast and the fruit of your ground until you are exterminated, a nation who shall not let grain, grape juice or clarified oil, the calving of your domestic animals or the lambing of your flock remain for you, until it destroys you. ⁵² It will lay siege against you in all your gates until your lofty and defended walls in which you will be trusting come down in all your land; and he will lay siege against you in all your gates in all your land that Yahweh your Elohim will have given to you. ⁵³ Then you will eat the fruit of your own belly, the flesh of your sons and your daughters whom Yahweh your Elohim will have given to you, in the siege and in the constraint with which your enemy shall constrain you. ⁵⁴ The tender-hearted man among you and the one very fastidious, his eye shall be evil toward his brother and toward the wife of his bosom and toward the rest of his sons whom he shall have left, ⁵⁵ so as to keep from giving to one of them the flesh of his sons that he is eating because nothing at all remains for him in the siege and in the constraint with which your enemy shall constrain you in all your gates. ⁵⁶ The tender-hearted woman among you, and the fastidious one, who would not try to put the sole of her foot on the earth because of fastidiousness and tenderness, her eye shall be evil toward the husband of her bosom and toward her son and toward her daughter, ⁵⁷ even for her afterbirth coming forth from between her feet, even for her sons whom she is bearing, for she shall eat them for lack of everything, in concealment during the siege and during the constraint with which your enemy shall constrain you in your gates. ⁵⁸ Should you not observe to obey all the words of this law, the ones written in this scroll, to fear the name of this glorified and fear-inspiring One, Yahweh your Elohim, ⁵⁹ then Yahweh will make your smitings and the smitings of your seed extraordinary:smitings that are great and constant, and illnesses that are bad and constant. ⁶⁰ Thus He will bring back to you every disease of Egypt from the presence of which you shrank away, and they will cling to you. ⁶¹ Moreover, every illness and every smiting that is not written in the scroll of this law, Yahweh shall bring them up on you until you are exterminated. ⁶² Thus you will remain few in adult males, whereas you would have become as the stars of the heavens for multitude, for you did not hearken to the voice of Yahweh your Elohim. ⁶³ So it will come to be, just as Yahweh was elated over you to bring you good and to let you increase, so Yahweh shall be elated over you to destroy you and to exterminate you, so that you will be swept away off the ground where you are entering to tenant it. ⁶⁴ And Yahweh will scatter you among all the peoples from one end of the earth unto the other end of the earth. There you will serve other elohim, those of wood and stone which you have not known, neither you nor your fathers. ⁶⁵ And among those nations you shall neither find respite, nor shall there be a resting place for the sole of your foot, and Yahweh will give to you there a disturbed heart, a failure of the eyes and pining of the soul. ⁶⁶ Then your lives will come to be hung in suspense in front of you. You will be afraid by night and by day, and you shall not put trust in your lives. ⁶⁷ In the morning you shall say:O that it were evening! And in the evening you shall say:O that it were morning! because of the awe of your heart with which you shall be afraid and because of the sight of your eyes which you shall see. ⁶⁸ Then Yahweh will bring you back complaining to Egypt by the way of which I said to you:You should not again see it further. There you will put yourselves up for sale to your enemies as servants and as maids, yet there will be no buyer.

²⁰ Yahweh shall not be willing to pardon him, because then Yahweh's anger and His jealousy shall smoke against that man, and all the imprecation that is written in this scroll will lie on him. Yahweh will wipe out his name from under the heavens;" ²¹ and Yahweh will separate him from all the tribes of Israel for the evil visitation according to all the imprecations of the covenant that is written in this scroll of the law. ²² The latter generation of your sons who shall rise after you and the foreigner who shall come from a country afar will ask, when they see the smitings of that land of yours and its ailments with which Yahweh has made it ill-. ²³ its whole land a burnt waste of sulfur and salt; it shall not be sown, neither shall it sprout, nor shall any herbage ascend in it, like the overturning of Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboiim, which Yahweh overturned in His anger and in His fury-. ²⁴ hence all the nations will ask:Why did Yahweh do thus to this land? Why the heat of this great anger? ²⁵ Then some will answer:Because they forsook the covenant of Yahweh Elohim of their fathers, that He had contracted with them when He brought them forth from the country of Egypt, ²⁶ for they went off and served other elohim and bowed themselves down to them, elohim whom they had neither known, nor had He apportioned for them. ²⁷ Hence the anger of Yahweh grew hot against that land so as to bring upon it all the malediction that is written in this scroll. ²⁸ So Yahweh plucked them up off their ground in anger, in fury and in great wrath, and He flung them into another country as it is this day. ²⁹ The things being concealed are Yahweh our Elohim's, yet the things being revealed are ours and our sons' until the eon, so that we might keep all the words of this law.

¹⁷ Yet should your heart turn around, and you are not hearkening, and you are induced to bow yourself down to other elohim and serve them, ¹⁸ I tell you today that you shall perish, yea perish. You shall not prolong your days on the ground where you are crossing over the Jordan to enter to tenant it. ¹⁹ Today I call the heavens and the earth to testify against you:Life and death I have put before you, the blessing and the malediction. Now choose life that you may live, you and your seed,

¹⁷ My anger will grow hot against them on that day, and I will forsake them and conceal My face from them; then they will come to be devoured, and many evils and distresses will find them. Then they will say on that day:Is it not because our Elohim is not among us that these evils have found us? ¹⁸ Yet I shall conceal, yea conceal My face from them on that day on account of all the evil which they will have done, for they will have turned around to other elohim.

¹⁹ Yahweh saw and spurned them because of the vexation caused by His sons and His daughters. ²⁰ And he said:Let Me conceal My face from them; I shall examine what their latter days are to be. For they are a wayward generation, sons with no faithfulness in them. ²¹ As for them, they make Me jealous with a non-el. They provoke Me to vexation with their idols of vanity. As for Me, I shall make them jealous with a non-people; with a decadent nation shall I cause them vexation. ²² For a fire will be kindled by My anger, and it shall glow unto the unseen beneath; it shall devour the earth and its crop, and it shall set aflame the foundations of the mountains. ²³ I shall cause evils to sweep up over them; I shall exhaust My arrows among them ²⁴ who are gaunt with famine, fought by pestilence and bitter sting:Even the tooth of beasts shall I send among them along with the venom of skulkers of the soil. ²⁵ From the outside, the sword shall bereave, and from the chambers, the dread of war, even for the man in his prime, even for the virgin, the suckling along with the grey-haired man. ²⁶ I would say:I might blow them away, I might eradicate their remembrance from mortals, ²⁷ unless I shrank away from the vexation of the enemy; lest their foes misconstrue, lest they say:Our hand is high, and it was not Yahweh Who contrived all this. ²⁸ For they are a nation whose counsel is destructive, and there is no understanding in them. ²⁹ O that they were wise; they would proceed intelligently in this; they would understand about their latter days! ³⁰ How could one pursue a thousand or two put a myriad to flight, if it were not that their Rock had sold them, and Yahweh had surrounded them? ³¹ For their rock is not like our Rock; even our enemies are umpires. ³² For their vine is from the vine of Sodom and from the terraces of Gomorrah; their grapes are grapes of poison, and the clusters are bitterness to them;" ³³ their wine is as the fury of snakes and the poison of cobras, as cruel. ³⁴ Is it not amassed with Me, sealed among My treasure. ³⁵ for the day of vengeance and repayment, for the season when their foot shall slip? For the day of their calamity is near, and impending doom hurries upon them. ³⁶ For Yahweh shall adjudicate His people and show Himself merciful over His servants when He sees that the power of their hand has departed and has become nil for both the restrained and the ones set free. ³⁷ Then Yahweh will ask:Where are their elohim, the rock in whom they took refuge, ³⁸ who ate the fat of their sacrifices and drank the wine of their libations? Let them rise up and help you; let them become a concealment over you. ³⁹ See now that I, I am He, and there is no other elohim besides Me. I Myself put to death, and I keep alive; I have transfixed, and I Myself shall heal, and there is no one who could reclaim from My hand!" ⁴⁰ For I lift My hand to the heavens and declare:As I am the Life for the eon, ⁴¹ when I whet My flashing sword and My hand lays hold on judgment, I shall return vengeance to My foes, and to My haters shall I make repayment. ⁴² I shall make My arrows drunk with blood, and My sword shall devour flesh, the blood of the one mortally wounded and the captive, from the head of the enemy commanders.

¹⁸ That Yahweh shows himself very angry against Israel, and turns them aside from His presence; none has been left, only the tribe of Judah by itself. ¹⁹ Also Judah has not kept the commands of Yahweh their Elohim, and they walk in the statutes of Israel that they had made. ²⁰ And Yahweh kicks against all the seed of Israel, and afflicts them, and gives them into the hand of spoilers, till that He has cast them out of His presence, ²¹ for He has rent Israel from the house of David, and they make Jeroboam son of Nebat king, and Jeroboam drives Israel from after Yahweh, and has caused them to sin a great sin, ²² and the sons of Israel walk in all the sins of Jeroboam that he did, they have not turned aside therefrom, ²³ till that Yahweh has turned Israel aside from His presence, as He spoke by the hand of all His servants the prophets, and Israel is removed from off its land to Asshur, unto this day.

⁴ Woe, nation of sin! People heavy with depravity! Seed of evil doers! Sons of ruiners! They forsake Yahweh. They spurn the Holy One of Israel. They are estranged, going back." ⁵ For what are you being smitten still? You are continuing in stubbornness. All of the head is ill, and all of the heart languishes." ⁶ From the sole of the foot unto the head no flawlessness is in it. Injury and welt, and smiting raw; they are not pressed out, nor bound up, nor made tender with oil."

⁵ Wherefore has this people of Jerusalem Turned back--a perpetual backsliding? They have kept hold on deceit, They have refused to turn back." ⁶ I have given attention, yea, I hearken, They do not speak right, No man has repented of his wickedness, Saying, What have I done? Every one has turned to his courses, As a horse is rushing into battle." ⁷ Even a stork in the heavens has known her seasons, And turtle, and swallow, and crane, Have watched the time of their coming, And--My people have not known the judgment of Yahweh." ⁸ How do you say, We [are] wise, And the law of Yahweh [is] with us? Surely, lo, falsely it has wrought, The false pen of scribes." ⁹ Ashamed have been the wise, They have been affrighted, and are captured, Lo, against a word of Yahweh they kicked, And the wisdom of what--have they? ¹⁰ Therefore, I give their wives to others, Their fields to dispossessors, For from the least even unto the greatest, Every one is gaining dishonest gain, From prophet even unto priest, every one is dealing falsely."

²⁶ On Egypt, and on Judah, and on Edom, And on the sons of Ammon, and on Moab, And on all cutting the corner [of the beard], Who are dwelling in the wilderness, For all the nations [are] uncircumcised, And all the house of Israel [are] uncircumcised in heart!"

²⁶ Its priests have wronged My law, And they pollute My holy things, Between holy and common they have not made separation, And between the unclean and the clean they have not made known, And from my sabbaths they have hidden their eyes, And I am pierced in their midst." ²⁷ Its princes in its midst [are] as wolves, Tearing prey, to shed blood, to destroy souls, For the sake of gaining dishonest gain." ²⁸ And its prophets have daubed for them with chalk, Seeing a vain thing, and divining for them a lie, Saying, `Thus said the Lord Yahweh:' And Yahweh has not spoken." ²⁹ The people of the land have used oppression, And have taken plunder violently away, And humble and needy have oppressed, And the sojourner oppressed--without judgment." ³⁰ And I seek of them a man making a fence, And standing in the breach before Me, In behalf of the land--not to destroy it, And I have not found." ³¹ And I pour out on them mine indignation, By fire of My wrath I have consumed them, Their way on their own head I have put, An affirmation of the Lord Yahweh!'"

⁹ and You have given to Your servant an understanding heart, to judge Your people, to discern between good and evil; for who is able to judge this Your great people?.

¹⁷ Causing counselors to go forth looted, He also makes judges rave as fools.

¹⁰ And now, O kings, be intelligent; Be admonished, all judges of the earth;"

² How long shall you judge with iniquity And lift up the faces of the wicked? {Interlude{ ³ Redress the poor and the orphan; To the humbled and destitute grant justice.

¹¹ Kings of the earth and all national groups, Chiefs and all judges of the earth,

¹⁶ By me chiefs control affairs, And patrons, all who are judging on the earth."

²⁶ setting up the word of His servant, and performing the counsel of His messengers. Saying to Jerusalem, `You shall be indwelt,' and to the cities of Judah, `You shall be built,' and `Its deserted places I will raise up.'"

² `Thus said Yahweh of Hosts, Elohim of Israel:You--you have seen all the evil that I have brought in on Jerusalem, and on all the cities of Judah, and lo, they [are] a waste this day, and there is none dwelling in them, <sup>3</sup> because of their wickedness that they have done, by provoking Me to anger, by going to make perfume, by serving other elohims, that they knew not, they, you, and your fathers." <sup>4</sup> `And I send unto you all my servants, the prophets, rising early and sending, saying:I pray you, do not this abomination that I have hated--" ⁵ and they have not hearkened nor inclined their ear, to turn back from their wickedness, not to make perfume to other elohims, ⁶ and poured out is My fury, and Mine anger, and it burns in cities of Judah, and in streets of Jerusalem, and they are for a waste, for a desolation, as [at] this day."

¹² Is it nothing to you, all who pass along the way? Look about and see if there is any pain like my pain which is brought on me, With which Yahweh afflicts in the day of His hot anger."

¹³ What shall I testify to you? What shall I liken to you, daughter of Jerusalem? What shall I equate to you, that I may comfort you, virgin daughter of Zion? For your brokenness is great as the sea; who shall heal you?

¹⁷ Yahweh has done what He had planned; He has carried through His saying, What He determined from days long ago; He has demolished and has not spared; And He is making the enemy rejoice over you; He exalts the horn of your foes."

⁶ Indeed the depravity of the daughter of my people is greater than the sin of Sodom, Which was overturned as in a moment though no hands travailed against it!"

⁹ And I have done in you that which I have not done, And that which I do not its like again, Because of all your abominations."

⁶ They have seen vanity, and lying divination, Who are saying:An affirmation of Yahweh, And Yahweh has not sent them, And they have hoped to establish a word."

² A day of darkness and gloominess, a day of cloud and murkiness, as the dawn spread on the mountains. A people numerous and staunch:Like it, it has not occurred from the eon, and after it, it shall not be again, unto years of generation after generation."

² But you do I know of all the families of the ground, therefore will I visit on you all your depravities."

⁶ Yea, My words and My statutes, which you have received, which I instruct, by My spirit, My servants the prophets, did they not overtake your forefathers? And they are turning away and are saying:Just as Yahweh of hosts plans to do to us, as fits our ways and our actions, so He does with us."

⁸ I see in the night, and behold! a man riding on a red horse, and he is standing between two mountains, in the shade, and behind him are horses, red, yellow and white."

¹⁸ For verily, I am saying to you, Till heaven and earth should be passing by, one iota or one serif may by no means be passing by from the law till all should be occurring.

²¹ for then shall be great affliction, such as has not occurred from the beginning of the world till now; neither under any circumstances may be occurring."

¹⁹ for in those days will be affliction such as has not occurred from the beginning of the creation which God creates till now, and under no circumstances may be occurring."

²² for days of vengeance are these, to fulfill all that is written."

⁸ For I am saying that Christ has become the Servant of the Circumcision, for the sake of the truth of God, to confirm the patriarchal promises."

⁴ Yet until this day Yahweh has not given to you a heart to realize and eyes to see and ears to hear.

¹³ As for the polluted of heart who nourish anger, Who do not implore when He binds them,

⁴ Turn us back, O Elohim of our salvation, And annul Your vexation toward us."

¹⁸ Expose my eyes that I may scrutinize The marvels of Your law.

²⁷ Make me understand the way of Your precepts, And I will meditate on Your marvelous works."

⁷³ Your hands, they have made me and are establishing me; Give me understanding so I may learn Your instructions."

¹³ Yet the people do not return unto their Smiter, and of Yahweh of hosts they do not inquire."

⁹ The former things; behold, they came! And the new things will I tell. Ere they are sprouting, I will announce them to you."

⁷ And no one is calling on Your name, rousing himself to hold fast to You, for You conceal Your face from us, and You are dissolving us by means of our depravities."

³⁰ In vain I have smitten your sons, Instruction they have not accepted, Devoured has your sword your prophets, As a destroying lion."

³ Yahweh, Your eyes, are they not on stedfastness? You have smitten them, and they have not grieved, You have consumed them, They have refused to receive instruction, They made their faces harder than a rock, They have refused to turn back."

¹⁸ I have surely heard Ephraim bemoaning himself, `You have chastised me, And I am chastised, as a heifer not taught, Turn me back, and I turn back, For you [are] Yahweh my Elohim."

²⁷ Lo, I am watching over them for evil, and not for good, and consumed have been all the men of Judah who [are] in the land of Egypt, by sword and by famine, till their consumption."

¹⁵ They slap their palms at you, all who pass your way; They hiss and jerk their head to and fro at the daughter of Jerusalem:Is this the city which they call the consummation of loveliness, the elation of the entire earth? ¹⁶ They open their mouth wide at you, all your enemies; They hiss and gnash their teeth; they say, We have swallowed them up! Yea, this is the day that we expected; we have come upon it and have seen it!" ¹⁷ Yahweh has done what He had planned; He has carried through His saying, What He determined from days long ago; He has demolished and has not spared; And He is making the enemy rejoice over you; He exalts the horn of your foes."

²¹ Restore us to Yourself, O Yahweh, and we shall return; renew our days as of long ago,

⁷ All of them are being warmed as by a stove, and they devour their judges. All their kings fall; there is none among them calling to Me."

¹⁰ The pomp of Israel answers to his face, yet they do not return to Yahweh their Elohim, nor do they seek Him in all this."

¹⁴ And they do not cry out to Me with their heart, for they are howling on their beds; over grain and grape juice they are stirring themselves up; they are withdrawing from Me."

⁴⁵ Then He opens up their mind to understand the scriptures,

⁴⁵ It is written in the prophets: And they shall all be taught of God. Everyone, then, who hears from the Father and is learning the truth, is coming to Me."

³² and you will know the truth, and the truth will be making you free."

³⁵ If He said those were gods, to whom the word of God came (and the scripture can not be annulled),

¹⁷ that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may be giving you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the realization of Him, ¹⁸ the eyes of your heart having been enlightened, for you to perceive what is the expectation of His calling, and what the riches of the glory of the enjoyment of His allotment among the saints,

²¹ since, surely, Him you hear, and by Him were taught (according as the truth is in Jesus),

⁵ Now if anyone of you is lacking wisdom, let him be requesting it from God, Who is giving to all generously and is not reproaching, and it shall be given to him."

²⁸ And it has been, as I watched over them to pluck up, And to break down, and to throw down, And to destroy, and to afflict; So do I watch over them to build, and to plant, An affirmation of Yahweh."

¹ Then Yahweh said to Moses: Now you shall see what I will do to Pharaoh, for under a steadfast hand he shall dismiss them, and under a steadfast hand he shall drive them out from his land.

⁶ Wherefore say to the sons of Israel: I am Yahweh; hence I will bring you forth from beneath the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rescue you from their service. I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgments.

¹⁶ Howbeit, for this sake I keep you standing, in order to make you see My vigor, and that My name may be related in the entire earth.

¹ Yahweh spoke to Moses saying: ² Speak to the sons of Israel that they may return and encamp before Pi-hahiroth, between Migdol and the sea, before Baal-zephon. Over against it you shall encamp by the sea. ³ So Pharaoh will say of the sons of Israel: They are perplexed in the land; the wilderness has closed in on them. ⁴ Thus I will make the heart of Pharaoh steadfast, so he will pursue after them. Then I will be glorified in Pharaoh and in all his army; and the Egyptians will know that I am Yahweh. Hence they did so. ⁵ When it was told to the king of Egypt that the people had run away, the heart of Pharaoh and his servants was turned as to the people, and they said: What is this we have done that we dismissed the sons of Israel from our service? ⁶ So he hitched up his chariots and took his people with him. ⁷ And he took six hundred chosen chariots and all the riders of Egypt and third fighters in all of them. ⁸ Thus Yahweh made the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt steadfast; and he pursued after the sons of Israel. The sons of Israel were going forth with a high hand, ⁹ yet the Egyptians were pursuing after them, and they overtook them encamping by the sea--all the horse-chariots of Pharaoh, his horsemen and his army-- at Pi-hahiroth before Baal-zephon. ¹⁰ So Pharaoh, he drew near. Then the sons of Israel lifted their eyes, and behold, the Egyptians were journeying after them. Now they became exceedingly fearful, and the sons of Israel cried to Yahweh. ¹¹ They said to Moses: Is it for lack of tombs in Egypt that you have taken us to die in the wilderness? What is this you have done to us bringing us forth from Egypt? ¹² Is not this the word which we spoke to you in Egypt, saying: Leave off from us and let us serve the Egyptians, for it better for us to serve the Egyptians than for us to die in the wilderness. ¹³ Then Moses said to the people: Do not fear! Station yourselves and see the salvation of Yahweh which He shall work for you today, for you see the Egyptians today, you shall not anymore see them again unto the eon. ¹⁴ Yahweh,He shall fight for you; as for you, you shall be silent. ¹⁵ Yahweh said to Moses: Why are you crying to Me? Speak to the sons of Israel that they should journey.

¹⁸ Then the Egyptians will know that I am Yahweh when I am glorified over Pharaoh, over his chariots and over his horsemen.

¹¹ Then Moses beseeched the face of Yahweh his Elohim and said: Why, Yahweh, has Your anger grown hot against Your people whom You have brought forth from the land of Egypt with great vigor and with a steadfast hand?

⁵¹ (for Your people and Your inheritance [are] they, whom You did bring out of Egypt, out of the midst of the furnace of iron) -.

¹⁰ And they [are] Your servants, and Your people, whom You have ransomed by Your great power, and by Your strong hand.

¹⁰ and do give signs and wonders on Pharaoh, and on all his servants, and on all the people of his land, for You have known that they have acted proudly against them, and You make to You a name as [at] this day.

⁸ Yet He saved them on account of His Name, To make known His masterful deeds."

¹³ And instead of the thorn tree, up shall come the fir, and instead of the nettle, up shall come the myrtle. And it comes to be to Yahweh for a name, and for a sign eonian that shall not be cut off."

¹⁰ And I write in a book, and seal, and cause witnesses to testify, and weigh the silver in balances;"

²⁰ In that you have done signs and wonders in the land of Egypt unto this day, and in Israel, and among men, and You do make for You a name as [at] this day." ²¹ `And You bring forth Your people Israel from the land of Egypt, with signs and with wonders, and by a strong hand, and by a stretched-out arm, and by great fear, ²² And you give to them this land that you did swear to their fathers to give to them, a land flowing with milk and honey, ²³ And they come in, and possess it, and they have not hearkened to Your voice, and in Your law have not walked, all that which You did lay a charge on them to do they have not done, and You do proclaim [to] them all this evil."

¹⁸ Rising, I will go to my father and declare to him, "Father, I sinned against heaven and in your sight." ¹⁹ No longer am I worthy to be called your son. Make me as one of your hired men."'"

²¹ Now the son said to him, 'Father, I sinned against heaven and in your sight. No longer am I worthy to be called your son. Make me as one of your hired men.'"

¹³ Now the tribute collector, standing afar off, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his chest, saying, 'God, make a propitiatory shelter for me, the sinner!' "

¹⁰ Who rescues us from a death of such proportions, and will be rescuing; on Whom we rely that He will still be rescuing also;"

⁵ You shall not bow yourself down to them, nor be made to serve them, for I, Yahweh your Elohim, am a jealous El, visiting the depravity of the fathers on the sons, on the third and on the fourth generation, to those hating Me,

³⁹ The remainder among you shall be putrid over their depravity in the lands of your enemies, and also over the depravities of their fathers with them shall they be putrid. ⁴⁰ If they will confess their depravity and the depravity of their fathers in their offense (when they had offended Me and, indeed, when they had gone contrary to M.

⁷ Yahweh dispossesses, and He makes rich, He makes low, yea, He makes high.

⁷ then I have cut off Israel from the face of the ground that I have given to them, and the house that I have hallowed for My name I send away from My presence, and Israel has been for a simile and for a byword among all the peoples;" ⁸ as to this house, [that] is high, every one passing by it is astonished, and has hissed, and they have said, Wherefore has Yahweh done thus to this land and to this house? ⁹ and they have said, Because that they have forsaken Yahweh their Elohim, who brought out their fathers from the land of Egypt, and they lay hold on other elohims, and bow themselves to them, and serve them; therefore has Yahweh brought in upon them all this evil..

⁸ and did find his heart stedfast before You, so as to make with him the covenant, to give the land of the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Amorite, and the Perizzite, and the Jebusite, and the Girgashite, to give [it] to his seed. `And You do establish Your words, for You [are] righteous,

⁹ You must not be wroth with us, Yahweh, unto excess, and You must not, for the future, be remembering our depravity. Behold! Look, pray! Your people are we all." ¹⁰ The cities of Your holy place come to be a wilderness. Zion becomes as a wilderness, Jerusalem a desolation." ¹¹ The house, our holy place, and our beauty, where our forefathers praised You, came to be burned with fire, and all that we covet came to be demolished."

¹⁸ And I have pursued after them with sword, with famine, and with pestilence, and have given them for a trembling to all kingdoms of the earth, for a curse and for an astonishment, and for a hissing, and for a reproach among all the nations whither I have driven them,

³² Because of all the evil of the sons of Israel, and of the sons of Judah that they have done, so as to provoke Me--they, their kings, their heads, their priests, and their prophets, and the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem."

⁸ A sin has Jerusalem sinned; therefore she has become an isolated woman; All who glorified her count her abject, for they have seen her nakedness; Indeed she herself sighs and turns away back." ⁹ Her uncleanness is in her skirts, she was not mindful of her future; So she has come down most marvelously; there was no one to comfort her. See, O Yahweh, my humiliation, for the enemy magnified himself."

²⁰ And while I am speaking-- praying and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel and casting my supplication before Yahweh my Elohim concerning the holy mountain of my Elohim--

¹⁷ And you shall know that I am Yahweh, your Elohim, tabernacling in Zion, My holy mountain. And Jerusalem shall come to be a holy city, and aliens shall pass in her no longer."

⁴ For I brought you up from the land of Egypt, and from the house of servants I ransomed you. And I am sending before you Moses, Aaron and Miriam." ⁵ My people, remember, I pray, what Balak, king of Moab, counseled, and what Balaam, son of Beor, answered him, from Shittim unto Gilgal, that you may know the righteousness of Yahweh."

³ Thus says Yahweh:I return to Zion, and I tabernacle in the midst of Jerusalem, and Jerusalem is called the city of truth, and the mountain of Yahweh of hosts, the holy mountain."

³¹ So that you are testifying to yourselves that you are the sons of those who murder the prophets. ³² And you! Fill full the measure of your father!

⁴⁷ Woe to you! for you are building the tombs of the prophets, yet your fathers kill them." ⁴⁸ Consequently you are witnesses and are endorsing the acts of your fathers, for they, indeed, kill them, yet you are building their tombs." ⁴⁹ Therefore, also, God's Wisdom said, 'I shall be dispatching to them prophets and apostles, and some of them they will be killing and banishing,'" ⁵⁰ that the blood of all the prophets which is shed from the disruption of the world may be exacted from this generation, ⁵¹ from the blood of Abel to the blood of Zechariah, who perished between the altar and the house. Yea, I am saying to you, It will be exacted from this generation!"

⁶ if so be that it is just of God to repay affliction to those afflicting you,

⁹ If we should be avowing our sins, He is faithful and just that He may be pardoning us our sins and should be cleansing us from all injustice."

²³ Speak to Aaron and to his sons, saying, Thus shall you bless the sons of Israel, saying to them, ²⁴ May Yahweh bless you and keep you; ²⁵ may Yahweh light up His face toward you and be gracious to you; ²⁶ may Yahweh lift His face to you and appoint peace for you.

⁶ Many are saying, Shall anyone show us good? Lift up the light of Your countenance over us, O Yahweh.

⁷ Then Yahweh said: I see, yea see the humiliation of My people who are in Egypt. And I hear their crying because of the presence of their exactors; for I know their pains.

²⁹ for Your eyes being open towards this house night and day, towards the place of which You have said, My Name is there; to hearken unto the prayer which Your servant prays towards this place.

¹⁶ Incline, O Yahweh, Your ear, and hear; open, O Yahweh, Your eyes, and see; and hear You the words of Sennacherib with which he has sent him to reproach the living Elohim.

⁶ I call upon You, for You shall answer me, O El; Stretch out Your ear to me and hear my word." ⁷ Show the marvel of Your benignities, You Who are saving with Your right hand Those taking refuge from rising foes."

¹⁵ Look from the heavens, and see from the residence of Your holiness and Your beauty. Where is Your zeal and Your mastery? Where is the clamor of Your bowels? And Your compassions toward us, do they check themselves? ¹⁶ For You are our Father, for Abraham does not know us, and Israel is not recognizing us. You are He, Yahweh, our Father, our Redeemer; from the eon is Your name." ¹⁷ Why are You leading us astray, Yahweh, from Your ways? Making our heart indurate to Your fear? Turn back, on account of Your servants, the tribes of Your allotment." ¹⁸ Why do the wicked march in Your holy place; our foes trample Your sanctuary? ¹⁹ We become as those from the eon. Not among them do You rule, nor is Your name called over them."

⁶ And we are becoming as unclean, all of us, and as an ornamented garment is all our righteousness. And we are decaying as a leaf, all of us, and our depravities, as the wind, are carrying us away."

¹² On account of all this wilt You check Yourself, Yahweh? Are You hushing and humiliating us unto excess?

¹⁰ And you have come in and stood before Me, In this house on which My name is called, And have said, `We have been delivered,' In order to do all these abominations." ¹¹ A den of burglars has this house, On which My name is called, been in your eyes? Even I, lo, I have seen, an affirmation of Yahweh." ¹² But go you, I pray you, Unto My place that [is] in Shiloh, Where I caused My name to dwell at first, And see that which I have done to it, For the wickedness of My people Israel."

⁹ Why are You as one dumb? As a mighty one not able to save? And You [are] in our midst, O Yahweh, And Your name over us is called, leave us not."

¹⁶ Your words have been found, and I eat them, And Your word is to me for a joy, And for the rejoicing of my heart, For Your name is called on me, O Yahweh, Elohim of Hosts."

²⁹ For lo, in the city over which My name is called, I am beginning to do evil, And you--you are entirely acquitted! You are not acquitted, for a sword I am proclaiming, For all inhabitants of the land, An affirmation of Yahweh of Hosts."

⁷ if so be their supplication does fall before Yahweh, and they turn back each from his evil way, for great [is] the anger and the fury that Yahweh has spoken concerning this people.'"

²⁰ And now, hearken, I pray you, my lord, O king, let my supplication fall, I pray you, before you, and cause me not to return [to] the house of Jonathan the scribe, that I die not there.'"

³² Not for your sake am I working, An affirmation of the Lord Yahweh, Be it known to you, Be ashamed and confounded, because of your ways, O house of Israel."

² to the ecclesia of God which is in Corinth, hallowed in Christ Jesus, called saints, together with all in every place who are invoking the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ, both theirs and ours:"

¹⁹ Pardon, I pray, the depravity of this people according to the greatness of Your kindness just as You bore with this people from Egypt and hitherto.

³⁰ `Then You have hearkened unto the supplication of Your servant, and of Your people Israel, which they pray towards this place; yea, You do hearken in the place of Your dwelling, in the heavens--and You have hearkened, and have forgiven, <sup>31</sup> that which a man sins against his neighbor, and he has lifted up upon him an oath to cause him to swear, and the oath has come in before Your altar in this house, <sup>32</sup> then You do hear in the heavens, and have done, and have judged Your servants, to declare wicked the wicked, to put his way on his head, and to declare righteous the righteous, to give him according to his righteousness. <sup>33</sup> `In Your people Israel being smitten before an enemy, because they sin against You, and they have turned back unto You, and have confessed Your name, and prayed, and made supplication unto You in this house, ³⁴ then you do hear in the heavens, and have forgiven the sin of Your people Israel, and brought them back unto the ground that You gave to their fathers. ³⁵ `In the heavens being restrained, and there is no rain, because they sin against You, and they have prayed towards this place, and confessed Your name, and from their sin turn back, for You do afflict them, <sup>36</sup> then You do hear in the heavens, and have forgiven the sin of Your servants, and of Your people Israel, for You direct them the good way in which they go, and have given rain on Your land which You have given to Your people for inheritance. <sup>37</sup> `Famine--when it is in the land; pestilence--when it is; blasting, mildew, locust; caterpillar--when it is; when its enemy has distressed it in the land [in] its gates, any plague, any sickness, -. ³⁸ any prayer, any supplication that [is] of any man of all Your people Israel, who know each the plague of his own heart, and has spread his hands towards this house, ³⁹ then You do hear in the heavens, the settled place of Your dwelling, and have forgiven, and have done, and have given to each according to all his ways, whose heart You know, (for You have known--Yourself alone--the heart of all the sons of man),

²¹ `And You have hearkened unto the supplications of Your servant, and of Your people Israel, that they pray towards this place, and You do hear from the place of Your dwelling, from the heavens, and have hearkened, and forgiven.

²⁵ then You do hear from the heavens, and have forgiven the sin of Your people Israel, and caused them to turn back unto the ground that You have given to them, and to their fathers. ²⁶ `In the heavens being restrained, and there is no rain, because they sin against You, and they have prayed towards this place, and confessed Your name--from their sin they turn back because You do afflict them-. <sup>27</sup> then You do hear in the heavens, and have forgiven the sin of Your servants, and of Your people Israel, because You direct them unto the good way in which they walk, and have given rain on Your land that You have given to Your people for an inheritance. <sup>28</sup> `Famine, when it is in the land, pestilence, when it is, blasting, and mildew, locust, and caterpillar, when they are, when its enemies have distressed it in the land--its gates, any plague and any sickness;" ²⁹ any prayer, any supplication that is for any man, and for all Your people Israel, when they know each his own plague, and his own pain, and he has spread out his hands towards this house. ³⁰ then You do hear from the heavens, the settled place of Your dwelling, and have forgiven, and have given to each according to all his ways (because You know his heart, for You--You only--have known the heart of the sons of men),

³⁹ then You have heard from the heavens, from the settled place of Your dwelling, their prayer and their supplications, and have maintained their cause, and forgiven Your people who have sinned against You.

²³ Do rouse! Why do You sleep, O Yahweh? Do awake! Do not cast us off permanently." ²⁴ Why are You concealing Your face? Are You forgetting our humiliation and our oppression? ²⁵ For our soul has been prostrated to the soil; Our belly clings to the earth. ²⁶ Do arise as our Help! And ransom us on account of Your benignity. {Permanent{ {Concerning Elations {Anemones{{

⁹ Our signs we cannot see; There is no prophet any more, And not one of us is knowing what is still ahead." ¹⁰ How long, O Elohim, shall the foe reproach? Shall the enemy spurn Your Name permanently? ¹¹ Why are You turning back Your hand, even Your right hand? Take it from within Your bosom and finish them."

⁵ How long, O Yahweh? Shall You be angry permanently? How long shall Your jealousy consume like a fire? ⁶ Pour out Your fury on the nations that do not know You, And on kingdoms that do not call on Your Name."

⁸ Do not hold against us the depravities of former generations; Let Your compassions quickly confront us, For we are very impoverished." ⁹ Help us, O Elohim of our salvation, on behalf of the glory of Your Name; Rescue us and make a propitiatory shelter over our sins on account of Your Name." ¹⁰ Why should the nations say, Where is their Elohim? Let it be made known among the nations before our eyes:Vengeance for the shed blood of Your servants."

⁵ Shall You be angry with us for the eon? Shall You protract Your anger for generation after generation? ⁶ Shall You Yourself not revive us again, That Your people may rejoice in You?

¹³ You Yourself shall rise; You shall have compassion on Zion, For it is the era to be gracious to her, Since the appointed time has come." ¹⁴ For Your servants hold her stones dear, And they show favor to her soil." ¹⁵ The nations shall fear the Name of Yahweh, And all the kings of the earth Your glory." ¹⁶ For Yahweh will build up Zion; He will appear in His glory.

¹ Not to us, O Yahweh, not to us, But to Your Name give glory, On account of Your benignity, Your faithfulness." ² Why should the nations say, Where, pray, is their Elohim?

⁹ You must not be wroth with us, Yahweh, unto excess, and You must not, for the future, be remembering our depravity. Behold! Look, pray! Your people are we all." ¹⁰ The cities of Your holy place come to be a wilderness. Zion becomes as a wilderness, Jerusalem a desolation." ¹¹ The house, our holy place, and our beauty, where our forefathers praised You, came to be burned with fire, and all that we covet came to be demolished." ¹² On account of all this wilt You check Yourself, Yahweh? Are You hushing and humiliating us unto excess?

²⁰ We have known, O Yahweh, our wickedness, The iniquity of our fathers, For we have sinned against You." ²¹ Do not despise, for Your name's sake, Dishonor not the throne of Your honor, Remember, break not Your covenant with us."

⁹ And I do [it] for My name's sake, Not to pollute [it] before the eyes of the nations, In whose midst they [are], Before whose eyes I became known to them, To bring them out from the land of Egypt."

¹⁴ And I do [it] for My name's sake, Not to pollute [it] before the eyes of the nations, Before whose eyes I brought them forth."

²² And I have turned back My hand, And I do [it] for My name's sake, Not to pollute [it] before the eyes of the nations, Before whose eyes I brought them out."

²² Therefore, say to the house of Israel, Thus said the Lord Yahweh:Not for your sake am I working, O house of Israel, But--for My holy name, That you have polluted among nations whither you have gone in."

²⁵ Therefore, thus said the Lord Yahweh:Now do I bring back the captivity of Jacob, And I have pitied all the house of Israel, And have been zealous for My holy name."

¹⁸ Stretch out, my Elohim, Thine ear and hear me; unclose Thine eyes and see our desolation and the city over which Thy name is called; for not on account of our righteousness are we casting our supplications before Thee, but on account of the multitude of Thy compassions."

² And it comes, when they finish devouring the herbage of the land, then I am saying, My Lord Yahweh, pardon, pray; who shall raise Jacob, for he is small?

⁸ I am saying to you, even if he will not rise to give to him because of his being his friend, surely because of his pestering, being roused, he will be giving him whatever he needs."

⁶ for the laud of the glory of His grace, which graces us in the Beloved:"

¹² that we should be for the laud of His glory, who are pre-expectant in the Christ."

¹⁰ that now may be made known to the sovereignties and the authorities among the celestials, through the ecclesia, the multifarious wisdom of God,

⁵ If I should forget you, Jerusalem, May my right hand forget its skill." ⁶ May my tongue cling to my palate, If I should not remember you, If I should not elevate Jerusalem Over my principal rejoicings."

¹⁸ Near is Yahweh to all calling on Him, To all who are calling on Him in truth."

²⁰ For there is no righteous man in the earth Who does good and never sins.

⁵ And saying am I, "Alack to me! For stilled am I, for a man of unclean lips am I, and amidst a people of unclean lips am I dwelling, for the King, Yahweh of hosts, my eyes have seen!"

⁷ I bring them also to My holy mountain, and I make them rejoice in My house of prayer. Their ascent approaches and their sacrifices shall ascend for acceptance on My altar, for My house a house of prayer shall be called, for all the peoples,

⁹ Then you will call, and Yahweh will answer, you will implore, and He will say, "Behold Me!You should take away from your midst the slider bar, and the pointing of the finger and speaking lawlessness,

⁶ Over your walls, Jerusalem, I give the supervision to keepers. All the day and all the night, continually, they shall not hush reminding Yahweh. There must be no stillness for you!" ⁷ And you must not give Him stillness till He shall make ready, and till He shall establish, and till He shall constitute Jerusalem a praise in the earth."

²⁴ And it comes, ere they are calling, then I will answer; they are still speaking when I will hearken."

³ I am setting my face to my Lord the Elohim, to seek prayer and supplications in fasting and sackcloth and ashes." ⁴ I am praying to Yahweh my Elohim and am confessing and saying, "Oh, my Lord the El, great and fearful, Keeper of the covenant and the kindness for those loving Him and keeping His instructions:"

¹⁶ My Lord, according to all Thy righteousness, pray, let Thy anger and Thy fury turn away from Thy city Jerusalem, Thy holy mountain. Because of our sins and depravities--ours and our forefathers--Jerusalem and Thy people, Lord, are a reproach to all around us."

² In those days I, Daniel, came to be mourning three periods of seven days:"

³¹ And at their beseeching, shaken was the place in which they were gathered, and they are all filled with the holy spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness."

³⁰ And Cornelius averred, "Four days ago unto this hour was I fasting, and at the ninth, praying in my house, and lo! a man stood before me in splendid attire, ³¹ and is averring, 'Cornelius, your prayer is hearkened to, and your alms are brought to remembrance in God's sight."

²³ for all sinned and are wanting of the glory of God.

² For we all are tripping much. If anyone is not tripping in word, this one is a perfect man, able to bridle the whole body also."

² I perceived the holy city, new Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband."

¹⁰ And he carries me away, in spirit, on a mountain, huge and high, and shows me the holy city, Jerusalem, as it is descending out of heaven from God,

³⁹ The one he-lamb shall you offer in the morning, and the second he-lamb shall you offer between the evening hours,

³⁶ And it comes to pass, at the going up of the [evening -]present, that Elijah the prophet comes nigh and said, `Yahweh, Elohim of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, to-day let it be known that You [are] Elohim in Israel, and I Your servant, that by Your word I have done the whole of these things;"

⁴ Around me were gathering all those trembling at the words of the Elohim of Israel on account of the offense of the sons of deportation. And I continued sitting in desolation until the evening approach present. ⁵ Then at the time of the evening approach present I arose from my self-abasement and, with my garment and my robe torn on me, I bowed down on my knees and spread out my palms to Yahweh my Elohi.

²⁰ Bless Yahweh, all His messengers, Masters of valor, doing His word, So as to hearken to the voice of His word!"

⁴ Making His messengers winds, His ministers a flaming fire,

² Seraphim are standing above it with six wings, six wings to each one. With two it is covering its face, and with two it is covering its feet, and with two it is flying."

⁶ And one of the seraphim is flying to me, and in its hand is a glowing coal. With snuffers he takes it off the altar." ⁷ And he is touching my mouth and saying, "Behold! This touches your lips. And withdrawn is your depravity. And for your sin there is a propitiatory shelter."

¹¹ And their faces and their wings are separate from above, to each [are] two joining together, and two are covering their bodies."

¹⁴ And the living creatures are running, and turning back, as the appearance of the flash."

¹⁶ I am hearing a human voice between the banks of the Ulai, and it is calling and saying, "Gabriel, make this one to understand the sight."

¹⁸ At his speaking with me, I am stupefied, with my face to the earth. And he is touching me, and is setting me upright."

¹⁰ And behold, a hand touches me; it is swaying me to my knees and the palms of my hands."

¹⁶ And behold, one as the likeness of the sons of humanity is touching my lips. I am opening my mouth to speak and am saying to him who is standing in front of me, "My lord, by the sight of thee my throes are turned on me, and no vigor do I retain."

¹⁸ Then continuing, touching me is one having the appearance of a human. He is encouraging me and saying,

⁴⁶ Now about the ninth hour Jesus exclaims with a loud voice, saying, "Eloi! Eloi! Lema sabachthani?that is, "My God! My God! Why didst Thou forsake Me?

¹⁹ And answering, the messenger said to him, "I am Gabriel, who stands before God, and I was dispatched to speak to you and to bring you this evangel."

¹ Now Peter and John went up into the sanctuary at the hour of prayer, the ninth."

³ perceived in a vision manifestly, as if about the ninth hour of the day, a messenger of God entering to him and saying to him, "Cornelius!"

⁹ Now, on the morrow, as they are journeying and drawing near the city, Peter went up on the housetop to pray about the sixth hour of the day."

⁷ And lo! a messenger of the Lord stood by, and a light shines in the room. Now smiting Peter on the side, he rouses him, saying, "Rise quickly!And off fall his chains from his hands."

⁷ And, indeed, to the messengers He is saying, "Who is making His messengers blasts, And His ministers a flame of fire."

¹⁴ Are they not all ministering spirits commissioned for service because of those who are about to be enjoying the allotment of salvation?

²⁴ Seventy sevens are segregated for your people and for your holy city:To detain transgression, to cause sin to end, to make a propitiatory shelter for depravity; to bring the righteousness of the eons, to seal the vision and the prophet, to anoint the holy of holies." ²⁵ And you shall know and be intelligent:From the faring forth of the word to cause a return and to rebuild Jerusalem--from then till Messiah the Governor is seven sevens, and sixty-two sevens. It will return and will be rebuilt, square and salient, even in eras of constraint." ²⁶ After the sixty-two sevens, Messiah will be cut off, and there is no adjudication for Him. The city and the holy place shall be laid in ruins with the other governor's coming; then its end is by an overflow, and till the end of the war desolations will be decided." ²⁷ Then he will be master of a covenant with many for one seven:At half of the seven, he will cause to cease the sacrifice and the approach present; on a wing of the sanctuary shall be desolating abominations. Till the conclusion of the era the decided conclusion will be poured forth on the desolation."

²¹ (Verily, I am telling you what is signified in the writing of truth.) No one will be steadfast with me in these things save Michael your chief."

⁹ Then I am saying, What are these, my lord? And the messenger who is speaking with me is saying to me, I will show you what these are."

¹⁴ And the messenger who is speaking with me is saying to me, Call, saying, Thus says Yahweh of hosts:I am jealous for Jerusalem, and for Zion with a great jealousy,

⁴ And I am answering and am saying to the messenger who is speaking with me, What are these, my lord? ⁵ And the messenger is answering and saying to me, These are the four spirits of the heavens faring forth from stationing themselves with the Lord of the entire earth."

¹ After these things I perceived, and lo! a door is open in heaven, and lo! the first sound which I hear is as a trumpet speaking with me, saying, "Come up here! and I will be showing you what must be occurring after these things."

¹⁰ I am my darling's, And his impulse is toward me."

¹⁶ `Son of man, lo, I am taking from you the desire of your eyes by a stroke, and you do not mourn, nor weep, nor let your tear come."

¹² And they have spoiled your wealth, And they have plundered your merchandise, And they have thrown down your walls, And your desirable houses they break down, And your stones, and your wood, and your dust, In the midst of the waters they place."

¹¹ Then he is saying to me, "Daniel, man of coveted qualities, understand the words which I am speaking to you and stand upright, for now am I sent to you.And at his speaking with me this word, I stand quivering." ¹² Then he is saying to me, "You must not fear, Daniel, for from the first day on which you gave your heart to understand and to humble yourself before Yahweh your Elohim, your words were heard, and I came because of your words;"

¹⁹ You must not fear, man of coveted qualities! Peace be yours! Steadfast! Now be steadfast!At his speaking with me, I am encouraged and am saying, "Let my lord speak, for you encourage me."

²⁸ And, entering to her, the messenger said, "Rejoice, favored one! The Lord is with you, you blessed among women!"

¹⁵ One slew it, and Moses took the blood and put some of it on the horns of the altar round about with his finger, and he made a sin offering on the altar; and the rest of the blood he poured out at the foundation of the altar and hallowed it to make a propitiatory shelter over it.

⁸ You will count off for yourselves seven sabbaths of years, that is, seven years seven times, so that the days of the seven sabbaths of years will come to be for you forty-nine years.

³⁴ By the number of the days in which you explored the land, forty days, a day for a year, a day for a year, shall you bear your depravities:forty years; thus you will realize My repudiation.

²⁴ and the priests slaughter them, and make a sin-offering with their blood on the altar, to make atonement for all Israel, for `For all Israel,' said the king, `[is] the burnt-offering and the sin-offering..

⁶ I will pour a libation on My King, On Zion, My holy mountain.

⁷ You love righteousness and hate wickedness; Therefore Elohim Your Elohim has anointed You With the oil of elation beyond Your partners.

⁶ Lift your eyes to the heavens, and look to the earth beneath. For the heavens, as with smoke, are full, and the earth, as a garment, is decaying, and its dwellers likewise, as a louse, are dying. Yet My salvation for the eon shall come. And My righteousness shall not be dismayed."

⁸ For, as if a garment, eating them is the moth, and, as if wool, eating them is the roach. Yet My righteousness for the eon shall come, and My salvation for the generation of generations."

¹⁰ yet Yahweh desires to crush Him, and He causes Him to be wounded. Should you place His soul for a guilt approach, He shall see a seed. He shall lengthen His days, and the desire of Yahweh shall prosper in His hand." ¹¹ From the toil of His soul shall He see light. And He shall be satisfied by His knowledge. My righteous Servant shall justify many, and with their depravities shall He be burdened."

¹ For thus says Yahweh, "Keep judgment, and do justice. For near is My salvation to come, and My righteousness to be revealed."

¹ The spirit of My Lord Yahweh is on Me, because Yahweh anoints Me to bear tidings to the humble. He sends Me to bind up the broken hearted, to herald to captives, liberty, and, to the blind, the unclosing of the eyes, and, to the bound, to take the jubilee,

⁵ Lo, days are coming--an affirmation of Yahweh, And I have raised to David a righteous shoot, And a king has reigned and acted wisely, And done judgment and righteousness in the earth." ⁶ In his days is Judah saved, and Israel dwells confidently, And this his name that Yahweh proclaims him, `Our Righteousness.'"

²² Your wretchedness will come to end, daughter of Zion; He shall not continue to carry you away into exile; He will note your depravity, daughter of Edom; He will expose your sins."

⁶ And you have completed these, and have lain on your right side, a second time, and have borne the iniquity of the house of Judah forty days--a day for a year--a day for a year I have appointed to you."

¹² `Son of man, lift up a lamentation for the king of Tyre, And you have said to him:Thus said the Lord Yahweh:You are sealing up a measurement, Full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty."

²¹ Now she shall be bringing forth a Son, and you shall be calling His name Jesus, for He shall be saving His people from their sins."

¹³ For all the prophets and the law prophesy till John.

²⁴ Ha! what is it to us and to you, Jesus the Nazarean! Did you come to destroy us? We are aware of you, who you are - the holy One of God!"

³⁵ And answering, the messenger said to her, "Holy spirit shall be coming on you, and the power of the Most High shall be overshadowing you; wherefore also the holy One Who is being generated shall be called the Son of God."

¹⁸ The spirit of the Lord is on Me, On account of which He anoints Me to bring the evangel to the poor. He has commissioned Me to heal the crushed heart, To herald to captives a pardon, And to the blind the receiving of sight; To dispatch the oppressed with a pardon." ¹⁹ To herald an acceptable year of the Lord..." ²⁰ And furling the scroll, giving it back to the deputy, He is seated. And the eyes of all in the synagogue were looking intently at Him." ²¹ Now He begins to be saying to them that "Today this scripture is fulfilled in your ears."

²⁵ And He said to them, "O foolish and tardy of heart to be believing on all which the prophets speak!" ²⁶ Must not the Christ be suffering these things, and be entering into His glory? ²⁷ And, beginning from Moses and from all the prophets, He interprets to them, in all the scriptures, that which concerns Himself."

⁴⁴ Now He said to them, "These are My words, which I speak to you, still being with you, for all must be fulfilled that is written in the law of Moses and the prophets and psalms concerning Me." ⁴⁵ Then He opens up their mind to understand the scriptures,

⁴¹ This one first is finding his own brother, Simon, and is saying to him, "We have found the Messiah!(which is, being construed, "Christ")."

³⁴ For He Whom God commissions is speaking God's declarations, for God is not giving the spirit by measure."

²⁸ After this, Jesus, being aware that all is already accomplished, that the scripture may be perfected, is saying, "I thirst!" ²⁹ Now a vessel lay there distended with vinegar. Sticking a sponge, then, distended with vinegar, on hyssop, they carry it to His mouth." ³⁰ When, then, Jesus took the vinegar, He said, "It is accomplished!And reclining His head, He gives up the spirit."

¹⁴ Now you disown the holy and just One, and request a man, a murderer, to be surrendered to you as a favor."

²² Moses, indeed, said that: A Prophet will the Lord your God, be raising up to you from among your brethren, as me. Him you shall hear, according to all, whatsoever He should be speaking to you."

²¹ Yet now, apart from law, a righteousness of God is manifest (being attested by the law and the prophets), ²² yet a righteousness of God through Jesus Christ's faith, for all, and on all who are believing, for there is no distinction,

¹⁰ For if, being enemies, we were conciliated to God through the death of His Son, much rather, being conciliated, we shall be saved in His life."

³⁰ Yet you, of Him, are in Christ Jesus, Who became to us wisdom from God, besides righteousness and holiness and deliverance,

¹⁸ Yet all is of God, Who conciliates us to Himself through Christ, and is giving us the dispensation of the conciliation, ¹⁹ how that God was in Christ, conciliating the world to Himself, not reckoning their offenses to them, and placing in us the word of the conciliation." ²⁰ For Christ, then, are we ambassadors, as of God entreating through us. We are beseeching for Christ's sake, "Be conciliated to God!" ²¹ For the One not knowing sin, He makes to be a sin offering for our sakes that we may be becoming God's righteousness in Him."

⁹ and may be found in Him, not having my righteousness, which is of law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is from God for faith:"

²⁰ and through Him to reconcile all to Him (making peace through the blood of His cross), through Him, whether those on the earth or those in the heavens."

¹⁴ erasing the handwriting of the decrees against us, which was hostile to us, and has taken it away out of the midst, nailing it to the cross,

⁸ Yet to the Son: "Thy throne, O God, is for the eon of the eon, And a scepter of rectitude is the scepter of Thy kingdom." ⁹ Thou lovest righteousness and hatest injustice; Therefore Thou art anointed by God, Thy God, with the oil of exultation beyond Thy partners."

¹⁷ Whence He ought, in all things, to be made like the brethren, that He may be becoming a merciful and faithful Chief Priest in that which is toward God, to make a propitiatory shelter for the sins of the people."

²⁶ For such a Chief Priest also became us, benign, innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners, and coming to be higher than those of the heavens,

¹¹ Now Christ, coming along a Chief Priest of the impending good things through the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made by hands, that is, not of this creation;" ¹² not even through the blood of he-goats and calves, but through His own blood, entered once for all time into the holy places, finding eonian redemption." ¹³ For if the blood of he-goats and of bulls, and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling the contaminated, is hallowing to the cleanness of the flesh, ¹⁴ how much rather shall the blood of Christ, Who, through the eonian spirit offers Himself flawless to God, be cleansing your conscience from dead works to be offering divine service to the living and true God?

²⁶ since then He must often be suffering from the disruption of the world, yet now, once, at the conclusion of the eons, for the repudiation of sin through His sacrifice, is He manifest."

¹⁴ For by one approach present He has perfected to a finality those who are hallowed.

¹ Simeon Peter, a slave and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to those who are chancing upon an equally precious faith with us, in the righteousness of our God, and the Saviour, Jesus Christ:"

⁸ Yet he who is doing sin is of the Adversary, for from the beginning is the Adversary sinning. For this was the Son of God manifested, that He should be annulling the acts of the Adversary."

⁷ And to the messenger of the ecclesia in Philadelphia write: "Now this is saying the True, the Holy One, Who has the key of David, and Who is opening and no one shall be locking, and locking and no one shall be opening:"

⁶ And I perceived another messenger flying in mid-heaven, having an eonian evangel to bring to those situated on the earth, and to every nation and tribe and language and people,

²⁵ And the king said to Zadok, `Take back the ark of Elohim to the city; if I find grace in the eyes of Yahweh, then He has brought me back, and shown me it and His habitation;"

²⁴ Then the work on the House of Eloah in Jerusalem was halted. And it remained halted until the year two of the reign of Darius king of Persia.

¹ Then king Darius promulgated a decree, and they made a quest for the scrolls that were put down in the house of depositories there in Babylon. ² But it was in the castle of Ecbatana in the province of Media that one roll was found, and this was written within it:Memorandum. ³ In year one of king Cyrus, king Cyrus promulgated a decree concerning the House of Eloah in Jerusalem:Let the House be rebuilt, a place for sacrificing sacrifices, and its foundations should be retained. Let its height be sixty cubits and its breadth be sixty cubits, ⁴ three courses of dressed stone and one course of timber; and let disbursement be granted from the king's house. ⁵ Also, the gold and silver vessels of the House of Eloah should be returned that Nebuchadnezzar had taken from the temple in Jerusalem and had transferred to Babylon. Let each go back to the temple in Jerusalem to its place; you shall put it down in the House of Eloah. ⁶ Now you, Tattenai viceroy Beyond-the Stream, Shethar-Bozenai, and you, their colleagues, the officials of Beyond-the-Stream, stay away from there. ⁷ Leave the viceroy of the Judeans and the greyhaired elders of the Judeans alone for the work on this House of Eloah. Let them rebuild this House of Eloah on its site. ⁸ So a decree is being promulgated from me as to what you shall do for these greyhaired elders of the Judeans in the rebuilding of this House of Eloah. Out of the king's resources, from the tribute of the province Beyond-the-Stream, disbursement shall be fully granted to these masters, so as not to halt the work. ⁹ And what is needed, such as young bulls, rams and lambs for ascent offerings to Eloah of the heavens, wheat, salt, turbid wine and oil, according to the word of the priests in Jerusalem, let it be granted to them day by day without fail, ¹⁰ so that they may be offering fragrant incense to Eloah of the heavens and be praying for the life of the king and his sons. ¹¹ So a decree is being promulgated from me that, as for any man who violates this rescript, a beam shall be torn out of his house; and lifted up, he shall be impaled on it. And his house shall be turned into ruins on account of this. ¹² May Eloah Who made His Name tabernacle there, overturn any king or people that stretches out his hand to disobey this rescript by harming this House of Eloah in Jerusalem. I, Darius, have promulgated the decree. Let it be carried out thoroughly. ¹³ Then Tattenai viceroy Beyond-the-Stream, Shethar-Bozenai and their colleagues carried this out thoroughly, just as king Darius had sent word. ¹⁴ So the greyhaired elders of the Judeans and the Levites were rebuilding and prospering because of the prophecy of Haggai the prophet and Zechariah son of Iddo. Thus they rebuilt and completed the work due to the command of Eloah of Israel and due to a decree of Cyrus and Darius and Artaxerxes king of Persia. ¹⁵ This House was finished on day three of the month of Adar, that is, in the year six of the reign of king Darius.

¹ After these things, in the reign of Artaxerxes king of Persia, Ezra son of Seraiah, son of Azariah, son of Hilkiah,

⁸ They came to Jerusalem in the fifth month, that is, in the seventh year of the king.

¹¹ Now this is a transcript of the dispatch that king Artaxerxes gave Ezra the priest and scribe, a scholar in matters concerning the instructions of Yahweh and His statutes for Israel. ¹² Artaxerxes king of kings, to Ezra the priest, scholar in the edict of the Eloah of the heavens. Peace being perfected! And no. ¹³ a decree is being promulgated from me, that anyone in my kingdom who is from the people of Israel and its priests and Levites and who is willing to go to Jerusalem with you, may go. ¹⁴ Forasmuch as you are being sent from before the king and his seven counselors to make a quest about Judah and Jerusalem in accord with the edict of your Eloah which is under your hand, ¹⁵ and to transfer the silver and gold that the king and his counselors have voluntarily given to the Eloah of Israel Whose tabernacle is in Jerusalem, ¹⁶ together with all the silver and gold that you may obtain in the whole province of Babylon along with the voluntary offering that the people and the priests are willingly giving to the House of their Eloah in Jerusalem. ¹⁷ Wherefore you shall buy promptly with this money bulls, rams, lambs their approach presents and their libations; and you shall offer them on the altar of the House of your Eloah in Jerusalem. ¹⁸ Whatever may seem good to you and to your brothers to do with the rest of the silver and the gold, you may do according to the decision of your Eloah. ¹⁹ The vessels that are provided for you for the service of the House of your Eloah, convey them before the Eloah in Jerusalem. ²⁰ The remaining requirements for the House of your Eloah which it falls to you to provide, you may provide from the king's house of depositories. ²¹ Now from me, king Artaxerxes, a decree is being promulgated to all the treasurers in the province Beyond-the-Stream, that everything that Ezra the priest, scholar in the edict of the Eloah of the heavens, may request from you, should be done promptly, ²² up to a hundred talents of silver, up to a hundred cors of wheat, up to a hundred baths of turbid wine, up to a hundred baths of oil, and salt without prescribed limit. ²³ Let all that is by the command of the Eloah of the heavens be done diligently for the House of the Eloah of the heavens, lest there be wrath against the realm of the king and his sons. ²⁴ And let it be known to you treasurers:As for any of the priests and the Levites, the musicians, the gatekeepers, the Nethinim and others serving at this House of Eloah, you have no authority to impose tribute, tax or toll on them. ²⁵ And you, Ezra, by the wisdom of your Eloah that is in your hand, assign judges and adjudicators who shall be adjudicating all the people in the province Beyond-the-Stream, all who are knowing the edicts of your Eloah; and you all shall teach anyone who does not know them. ²⁶ As for everyone who is not obeying the edict of your Eloah and the edict of the king, adjudication shall be promptly done to him, whether by death or by banishment, whether by a fine from his resources or by imprisonment.

¹ And it comes to pass, in the month of Nisan, the twentieth year of Artaxerxes the king, wine [is] before him, and I lift up the wine, and give to the king, and I had not been sad before him;" ² and the king said to me, `Wherefore [is] your face sad, and you not sick? this is nothing except sadness of heart;' and I fear very much, <sup>3</sup> and say to the king, `Let the king to the eon live! wherefore should not my face be sad, when the city, the place of the graves of my fathers, [is] a waste, and its gates have been consumed with fire?. ⁴ And the king said to me, `For what are you seeking?' and I pray unto the Elohim of the heavens, <sup>5</sup> and say to the king, `If to the king [it be] good, and if your servant be pleasing before you, that you send me unto Judah, unto the city of the graves of my fathers, and I built it.. ⁶ And the king said to me (and the queen is sitting near him), `How long is your journey? and when do you return?' and it is good before the king, and he sends me away, and I set to him a time. <sup>7</sup> And I say to the king, `If to the king [it be] good, letters let be given to me for the governors beyond the River, that they let me pass over till that I come in unto Judah. ⁸ and a letter unto Asaph, keeper of the paradise that the king has, that he give to me trees for beams [for] the gates of the palace that the house has, and for the wall of the city, and for the house into which I enter;' and the king gives to me, according to the good hand of my Elohim upon me.

¹ And Eliashib the high priest rises, and his brethren the priests, and they build the sheep-gate; they have sanctified it, and set up its doors, even unto the tower of Meah they have sanctified it, unto the tower of Hananeel;"

⁸ and they conspire, all of them together, to come in to fight against Jerusalem, and to do to it injury.

¹⁶ yea, it comes to pass, from that day, half of my servants are working in the business, and half of them are keeping hold of both the spears, the shields, and the bows, and the coats of mail; and the heads [are] behind all the house of Judah. ¹⁷ The builders on the wall, and the bearers of the burden, those lading, [each] with one of his hands is working in the business, and one is laying hold of the missile. ¹⁸ And the builders [are] each with his sword, girded on his loins, and building, and he who is blowing with a trumpet [is] beside me.

¹⁵ And the wall is completed in the twenty and fifth of Elul, on the fifty and second day;"

¹⁰ For my enemies commune against me, And those keeping watch against my soul intrigue together,

⁶ For a Boy is born to us; a Son is given to us, and the chieftainship shall come to be on His shoulder, and His name is called "Marvelous.Counsel to the master shall He bring, to the chief of the future, welfare."

⁴ Behold! A Witness to the folkstems I make Him, a Governor and Instructor for the folkstems."

¹¹ Even unto the chief of the host he magnifies himself:Because of him the continuous ritual is disturbed, flung down is all that pertains to the site of His sanctuary,

²⁵ By his intelligence he causes deceit to prosper in his hand. In his heart he is magnifying himself, and with ease will he ruin many. Against the Chief of chiefs will he stand, yet at the limit of his hand he shall be broken."

²³ At the start of your supplications a word from Yahweh fared forth, and I come to tell you, for a man of coveted qualities are you. "Then understand what is in the word and understand what is in the sight."

² And you, Bethlehem Ephratah, inferior to be among the mentors of Judah, from you shall One fare forth for Me to become the Ruler in Israel; yet His farings forth are from aforetime, from days eonian."

²³ Now he who is being sown on the ideal earth, this is he who is hearing the word and understanding, who by all means is bearing fruit, and is producing; these indeed, a hundred, yet these sixty, yet these thirtyfold."

²⁵ The woman is saying to Him, "We are aware that Messiah is coming, Who is termed 'Christ,' Whenever He should be coming, He will be informing us of all things."

¹⁵ Yet the Inaugurator of Life you kill, Whom God rouses from among the dead, of which we are witnesses."

³¹ This Inaugurator and Saviour, God exalts to His right hand, to give repentance to Israel and the pardon of sins."

³⁰ Now Philip, running toward him, hears him reading Isaiah the prophet, and said, "Consequently, you surely know what you are reading!"

¹⁶ reclaiming the era, for the days are wicked."

⁵ and from Jesus Christ, the Faithful Witness, the Firstborn of the dead, and the Suzerain of the kings of the earth. To Him Who is loving us and looses us from our sins by His blood"

¹⁶ And on His cloak and on His thigh He has a name written: "King of kings and Lord of lords."

¹⁵ My vigor is dried up like earthenware, And my tongue clings to my jaws; You bring me low to the soil of death."

⁷ wherefore, also, behold! My Lord is bringing up over them the waters of the stream, the staunch and the vast--the king of Assyria and all his glory. And up it goes over all its channels, and goes over all its banks."

⁸ From restraint and from judgment is He taken, and on His generation, who shall meditate? For He was severed from the land of the living; because of the transgression of My people was He touched by death."

⁷ Who is this? as a flood he comes up, As rivers do his waters shake themselves!"

²⁷ Then he will be master of a covenant with many for one seven:At half of the seven, he will cause to cease the sacrifice and the approach present; on a wing of the sanctuary shall be desolating abominations. Till the conclusion of the era the decided conclusion will be poured forth on the desolation."

¹⁰ Yet his sons shall be stirred up and gather a throng of many armies which comes into the southland, overwhelms it and passes. Yet it shall return and be stirred up unto its strength."

¹⁷ Then he shall set his face to come with the might of all his kingdom and equitable settlements shall he make with him. Even a wives' daughter shall he give to him to corrupt her, yet she shall not stand, nor for him shall she be."

⁹ And He is saying, Call his name Lo-ammi, for you are not My people, and I am not your I Am Becoming."

⁸ Over this, shall not the land be disturbed? And everyone dwelling in it mourn? And it will ascend as a waterway, all of it, and it will be driven out and will be drowned as the waterway of Egypt."

⁵ And the Lord, Yahweh Elohim of hosts, is He Who is touching the land and it is dissolving. And all dwelling in it mourn. And it ascends as a waterway, all of it, and it drowns as the waterway of Egypt."

⁸ And with a passing overflow He will make a finish of her place, and His enemies will He pursue into darkness."

² Likened was the kingdom of the heavens to a man, a king, who makes wedding festivities for his son."

⁷ Now the king is angered, and, sending his troops, destroys those murderers and sets their city in flames."

³⁸ Lo! left is your house to you desolate.

² Yet He, answering, said to them, "Are you not observing all these? Verily, I am saying to you, Under no circumstances may a stone here be left on a stone, which shall not be demolished."

⁶ Yet you shall be about to be hearing battles, and tidings of battles. See that you are not alarmed, for it must be occurring; but not as yet is the consummation." ⁷ For roused shall be a nation against a nation, and a kingdom against a kingdom, and there shall be famines and quakes in places." ⁸ Yet all these are the beginning of pangs. ⁹ Then shall they be giving you up to affliction, and they shall be killing you, and you shall be hated by all of the nations because of My name." ¹⁰ And then many shall be snared, and they shall be giving one another up and hating one another." ¹¹ And many false prophets shall be roused, and shall be deceiving many." ¹² And, because of the multiplication of lawlessness, the love of many shall be cooling." ¹³ Yet he who endures to the consummation, he shall be saved." ¹⁴ And heralded shall be this evangel of the kingdom in the whole inhabited earth for a testimony to all the nations, and then the consummation shall be arriving."

¹² Now He averred to them, "Elijah, indeed, coming first, is restoring all. And how is it written of the Son of Mankind that much may He be suffering and may be scorned?

² And answering, Jesus said to him, "Are you observing these great buildings? Under no circumstances may a stone be left here on a stone, which may not by all means be demolished."

⁷ Now whenever you should be hearing battles and tidings of battles, see that you are not alarmed, for it must be occurring, but not as yet is the consummation."

⁴³ for the days will be arriving on you, and your enemies will be casting up a rampart about you, and will be surrounding you, and will be pressing you everywhere, ⁴⁴ and will be leveling you and your children in you, and they will not be leaving a stone on a stone in you, because you knew not the era of your visitation."

⁶ These which you are beholding-there will be coming days in which not a stone will be left here on a stone, which will not be demolished."

²⁴ And they shall be falling by the edge of the sword and shall be led into captivity into all nations. And Jerusalem shall be trodden by the nations, until the eras of the nations may be fulfilled."

²⁶ Must not the Christ be suffering these things, and be entering into His glory?

⁴⁶ and said to them that "Thus it is written, and thus must the Christ be suffering and rise from among the dead the third day,

⁵¹ Now this he said, not from himself, but, being the chief priest of that year, he prophesies that Jesus was about to be dying for the sake of the nation, ⁵² and not for the nation only, but that He may be gathering the scattered children of God also into one."

³² And I, if I should be exalted out of the earth, shall be drawing all to Myself." ³³ Now this He said, signifying by what death He was about to be dying." ³⁴ The throng, then, answered Him, "We hear out of the law that the Christ is remaining for the eon, and how are you saying that the Son of Mankind must be exalted? Who is this Son of Mankind?

³⁰ No longer shall I be speaking much with you, for the Chief of the world is coming, and in Me it has not anything."

¹³ Besides, they put false witnesses on the stand, who say, "This man does not cease speaking, making declarations against this holy place and the law, ¹⁴ for we have heard him saying that this Jesus the Nazarene will be demolishing this place and will be changing the customs which Moses gives over to us."

²¹ For the One not knowing sin, He makes to be a sin offering for our sakes that we may be becoming God's righteousness in Him."

¹³ Christ reclaims us from the curse of the law, becoming a curse for our sakes, for it is written, Accursed is everyone hanging on a pole,

²¹ For this were you called, seeing that Christ also suffered for your sakes, leaving you a copy, that you should be following up in the footprints of Him"

²⁴ Who Himself carries up our sins in His body on to the pole, that, coming away from sins, we should be living for righteousness; by Whose welt you were healed."

¹⁸ seeing that Christ also, for our sakes, once died concerning sins, the just for the sake of the unjust, that He may be leading us to God; being put to death, indeed, in flesh, yet vivified in spirit,

²⁶ I testify against you today by the heavens and the earth, that you shall perish, yea perish quickly off the land where you are crossing over the Jordan to tenant it. You shall not prolong your days on it, for you shall be exterminated, yea exterminated. ²⁷ Yahweh will cause you to scatter among the peoples, and you will remain adult males of a small number among the nations where Yahweh shall lead you. ²⁸ And there you will serve other elohim, the work of human hands, of wood and stone which are neither seeing nor hearing, neither eating nor smelling.

¹⁸ Beware lest there may be among you a man or woman or family or tribe whose heart today is turning around from being with Yahweh our Elohim to go to serve the elohim of those nations; beware lest there may be among you a root, being fruitful with poison and wormwood. ¹⁹ And it will come to be when he hears the words of this imprecation that he will bless himself in his heart, saying:I shall come to have peace, though I am going in the obduracy of my own heart, seeing that the satiated may be swept up with the thirsty.

¹⁷ Yet should your heart turn around, and you are not hearkening, and you are induced to bow yourself down to other elohim and serve them, ¹⁸ I tell you today that you shall perish, yea perish. You shall not prolong your days on the ground where you are crossing over the Jordan to enter to tenant it.

²⁸ Assemble to me all the elders of your tribes and your superintendents, and let me speak in their ears all these words, and let me summon the heavens and the earth to testify against them. ²⁹ For I know that after my death you shall bring ruin, yea ruin on yourselves; you will withdraw from the way that I enjoined on you, and the evil visitation will befall you in the latter days, for you shall do the thing that is evil in the eyes of Yahweh so as to provoke Him to vexation by the work of your hands.

¹⁹ Yahweh saw and spurned them because of the vexation caused by His sons and His daughters. ²⁰ And he said:Let Me conceal My face from them; I shall examine what their latter days are to be. For they are a wayward generation, sons with no faithfulness in them. ²¹ As for them, they make Me jealous with a non-el. They provoke Me to vexation with their idols of vanity. As for Me, I shall make them jealous with a non-people; with a decadent nation shall I cause them vexation. ²² For a fire will be kindled by My anger, and it shall glow unto the unseen beneath; it shall devour the earth and its crop, and it shall set aflame the foundations of the mountains. ²³ I shall cause evils to sweep up over them; I shall exhaust My arrows among them ²⁴ who are gaunt with famine, fought by pestilence and bitter sting:Even the tooth of beasts shall I send among them along with the venom of skulkers of the soil. ²⁵ From the outside, the sword shall bereave, and from the chambers, the dread of war, even for the man in his prime, even for the virgin, the suckling along with the grey-haired man. ²⁶ I would say:I might blow them away, I might eradicate their remembrance from mortals, ²⁷ unless I shrank away from the vexation of the enemy; lest their foes misconstrue, lest they say:Our hand is high, and it was not Yahweh Who contrived all this. ²⁸ For they are a nation whose counsel is destructive, and there is no understanding in them. ²⁹ O that they were wise; they would proceed intelligently in this; they would understand about their latter days! ³⁰ How could one pursue a thousand or two put a myriad to flight, if it were not that their Rock had sold them, and Yahweh had surrounded them? ³¹ For their rock is not like our Rock; even our enemies are umpires. ³² For their vine is from the vine of Sodom and from the terraces of Gomorrah; their grapes are grapes of poison, and the clusters are bitterness to them;" ³³ their wine is as the fury of snakes and the poison of cobras, as cruel. ³⁴ Is it not amassed with Me, sealed among My treasure. ³⁵ for the day of vengeance and repayment, for the season when their foot shall slip? For the day of their calamity is near, and impending doom hurries upon them. ³⁶ For Yahweh shall adjudicate His people and show Himself merciful over His servants when He sees that the power of their hand has departed and has become nil for both the restrained and the ones set free. ³⁷ Then Yahweh will ask:Where are their elohim, the rock in whom they took refuge, ³⁸ who ate the fat of their sacrifices and drank the wine of their libations? Let them rise up and help you; let them become a concealment over you. ³⁹ See now that I, I am He, and there is no other elohim besides Me. I Myself put to death, and I keep alive; I have transfixed, and I Myself shall heal, and there is no one who could reclaim from My hand!" ⁴⁰ For I lift My hand to the heavens and declare:As I am the Life for the eon, ⁴¹ when I whet My flashing sword and My hand lays hold on judgment, I shall return vengeance to My foes, and to My haters shall I make repayment. ⁴² I shall make My arrows drunk with blood, and My sword shall devour flesh, the blood of the one mortally wounded and the captive, from the head of the enemy commanders. ⁴³ Jubilate, O heavens, together with Him, and worship Him, all the messengers of Elohim! Jubilate, O nations, with His people! For the blood of His servants shall He avenge, vengeance to His foes shall He return, and a propitiatory shelter shall He make for the ground of His people. ⁴⁴ Moses came and spoke all the words of this song in the ears of the people, he and Hosea son of Nun.

²² Let their table become a trap before them, And a repayment and a snare." ²³ Let their eyes be darkened, kept from seeing, And let their waist be bowed low continually." ²⁴ Pour out Your indignation upon them, And let Your hot anger overtake them." ²⁵ Let their domicile become desolate; Let no one be dwelling in their tents. ²⁶ As for You, they persecute those whom You have smitten, And they are recounting the pain of those wounded by You." ²⁷ Do bestow depravity on their depravity, And let them not come into Your righteousness." ²⁸ Let them be wiped out from the scroll of life, And let them not be written with the righteous."

²² For, should the people of Israel come to be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved among them. The conclusion decided shall be overflowing with righteousness, ²³ for a conclusive and decisive accounting will my Lord Yahweh of hosts make within the entire land.

²² And now, you must not be mocking, lest your bonds should hold fast, for a conclusive and decisive matter I hear from my Lord, Yahweh of hosts, which He will do over the entire land."

⁶ I, Yahweh Elohim, call you in righteousness, and I will hold fast to your hand and preserve you, and I will give you for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Nations,

¹¹ From the toil of His soul shall He see light. And He shall be satisfied by His knowledge. My righteous Servant shall justify many, and with their depravities shall He be burdened."

³ Stretch out your ear and go to Me; hear Me, and your soul shall live in good. And I will contract with you a covenant eonian, the kindnesses of David that are faithful."

³¹ Lo, days are coming, an affirmation of Yahweh, And I have made with the house of Israel And with the house of Judah a new covenant, ³² Not like the covenant that I made with their fathers, In the day of My laying hold on their hand, To bring them out of the land of Egypt, In that they made void My covenant, And I ruled over them--an affirmation of Yahweh." ³³ For this [is] the covenant that I make, With the house of Israel, after those days, An affirmation of Yahweh, I have given My law in their inward part, And on their heart I do write it, And I have been to them for Elohim, And they are to me for a people." ³⁴ And they do not teach any more Each his neighbor, and each his brother, Saying, Know you Yahweh, For they all know Me, from their least unto their greatest, An affirmation of Yahweh; For I pardon their iniquity, And of their sin I make mention no more."

⁴⁰ and I have made for them a covenant eonian, in that I turn not back from after them for My doing them good, and My fear I put in their heart, so as not to turn aside from me;" ⁴¹ and I have rejoiced over them to do them good, and have planted them in this land in truth, with all my heart, and with all My soul." ⁴² `For thus said Yahweh:As I brought in unto this people all this great evil, so I am bringing in on them all the good that I am speaking concerning them;"

⁶⁰ And I--I have remembered My covenant with you, In the days of your youth, And I have established for you a covenant eonian." ⁶¹ And you have remembered your ways, And you have been ashamed, In your receiving your sisters--Your elder with your younger, And I have given them to you for daughters, And not by your covenant." ⁶² And I--I have established My covenant with you, And you have known that I [am] Yahweh." ⁶³ So that you do remember, And you have been ashamed, And there is not to you any more an opening of the mouth because of your shame, In My receiving atonement for you, For all that you have done, An affirmation of the Lord Yahweh!'"

¹³ Now I am hearing one saint speaking. And saying is one other saint to so-and-so, the speaking one, "Till when is the vision of the continuous ritual--the cessation of the sacrifice and the desolating transgression which gives over even the holy place and the host to tramping?

³⁶ Yet doing is the king as is acceptable to himself:He will exalt and magnify himself over every el, against the El of elim will he speak marvelous things and prosper till the menace is concluded; for that which is decided shall be done."

¹¹ From the era when the continuous ritual is taken away, and to the setting of the abomination of desolation, is a thousand two hundred and ninety days."

²⁸ for this is My blood of the new covenant, that is shed for many for the pardon of sins."

⁵¹ And lo! the curtain of the temple is rent in two from above to the bottom, and the earth quaked, and the rocks are rent,

²⁰ Now whenever you may be perceiving Jerusalem surrounded by encampments, then know that her desolation is near."

¹⁵ But not as the offense, thus also the grace. For if, by the offense of the one, the many died, much rather the grace of God and the gratuity in grace, which is of the One Man, Jesus Christ, to the many superabounds."

¹⁹ For even as, through the disobedience of the one man, the many were constituted sinners, thus also, through the obedience of the One, the many shall be constituted just."

²⁶ And thus all Israel shall be saved, according as it is written, Arriving out of Zion shall be the Rescuer. He will be turning away irreverence from Jacob."

⁸ For I am saying that Christ has become the Servant of the Circumcision, for the sake of the truth of God, to confirm the patriarchal promises." ⁹ Yet the nations are to glorify God for His mercy, according as it is written, "Therefore I shall be acclaiming Thee among the nations,And to Thy name shall I be playing music."

¹³ Christ reclaims us from the curse of the law, becoming a curse for our sakes, for it is written, Accursed is everyone hanging on a pole, ¹⁴ that the blessing of Abraham may be coming to the nations in Christ Jesus, that we may be obtaining the promise of the spirit through faith." ¹⁵ Brethren (I am saying this as a man), a human covenant likewise having been ratified, no one is repudiating or modifying it." ¹⁶ Now to Abraham the promises were declared, and to his Seed. He is not saying "And to seeds,as of many, but as of One: And to "your Seed,which is Christ." ¹⁷ Now this am I saying: a covenant, having been ratified before by God, the law, having come four hundred and thirty years afterward, does not invalidate,

¹³ For God, promising Abraham, since He had no one greater to swear by, swears by Himself, ¹⁴ saying, "If, in sooth, it is blessing, I shall be blessing you, and multiplying, I shall be multiplyingyou!" ¹⁵ And thus, being patient, he happened on the promise." ¹⁶ For men are swearing by a greater, and to them an oath for confirmation is an end of all contradiction, ¹⁷ in which God, intending more superabundantly to exhibit to the enjoyers of the allotment of the promise the immutability of His counsel, interposes with an oath, ¹⁸ that by two immutable matters, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we may have a strong consolation, who are fleeing for refuge to lay hold of the expectation lying before us,

⁸ For, blaming them, He is saying, "Lo! the days are coming,the Lord is saying, "And I shall be concluding with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah a new covenant, ⁹ Not in accord with the covenant which I make with their fathers In the day of My taking hold of their hand To be leading them out of the land of Egypt, Seeing that they do not remain in My covenant, And I neglect them,the Lord is saying, ¹⁰ For this is the covenant which I shall be covenanting with the house of Israel after those days,the Lord is saying: "Imparting My laws to their comprehension, On their hearts, also, shall I be inscribing them, And I shall be to them for a God, And they shall be to Me for a people." ¹¹ And by no means should each be teaching his fellow citizen, And each his brother, saying, 'Know the Lord!' For all shall be acquainted with Me, From their little to their great, ¹² For I shall be propitious to their injustices, And of their sins and their lawlessnesses should I under no circumstances still be reminded." ¹³ In saying "new,He has made the former old. Now that which is growing old and decrepit is near its disappearance."

¹⁵ And therefore He is the Mediator of a new covenant, so that at a death occurring for the deliverance of the transgressions of those under the first covenant, those who are called may be obtaining the promise of the eonian enjoyment of the allotment." ¹⁶ For where there is a covenant, it is necessary to bring in the death of the covenant victim, ¹⁷ for a covenant is confirmed over the dead, since it is not availing at any time when the covenant victim is living." ¹⁸ Whence neither the first has been dedicated apart from blood. ¹⁹ For, every precept being spoken by Moses to the entire people according to the law, taking the blood of calves and of he-goats, with water and scarlet wool and hyssop, he sprinkles both the scroll itself and the entire people, ²⁰ saying, This is the blood of the covenant which God directs for you."

²⁸ thus Christ also, being offered once for the bearing of the sins of many, will be seen a second time, by those awaiting Him, apart from sin, for salvation, through faith."

⁴ for it is impossible for the blood of bulls and of he-goats to be eliminating sins. ⁵ Wherefore, entering into the world, He is saying, Sacrifice and approach present Thou dost not will, Yet a body dost Thou adapt to Me." ⁶ In ascent approaches and those concerning sin Thou dost not delight. ⁷ Then said I, "Lo! I am arriving-In the summary of the scroll it is written concerning Me-To do Thy will, O God." ⁸ Further up, when saying that "Sacrifice and approach present and ascent approaches and those concerning sin Thou dost not will, neither dost Thou delight in them(which are being offered according to law), ⁹ then He has declared, "Lo! I am arriving to do Thy will, O God!He is despatching the first, that He should be establishing the second." ¹⁰ By which will we are hallowed through the approach present of the body of Jesus Christ once for all time. ¹¹ And every chief priest, indeed, stands ministering day by day, and offering often the same sacrifices, which never can take sins from about us." ¹² Yet This One, when offering one sacrifice for sins, is seated to a finality at the right hand of God, ¹³ waiting furthermore till His enemies may be placed as a footstool for His feet. ¹⁴ For by one approach present He has perfected to a finality those who are hallowed. ¹⁵ Now the holy spirit also is testifying to us, for after having declared, ¹⁶ 'This is the covenant which I shall be covenanting with them after those days,' the Lord is saying, 'imparting My laws to their hearts, I shall be inscribing them on their comprehension also, ¹⁷ and of their sins and their lawlessnesses shall I under no circumstances still be reminded.'" ¹⁸ Now where there is a pardon of these, there is no longer an approach present concerned with sin." ¹⁹ Having then, brethren, boldness for the entrance of the holy places by the blood of Jesus, ²⁰ by a recently slain and living way which He dedicates for us, through the curtain, that is, His flesh, ²¹ and a great Priest over the house of God, ²² we may be approaching with a true heart, in the assurance of faith, with hearts sprinkled from a wicked conscience, and a body bathed in clean water."

²⁰ Now may the God of peace, Who is leading up our Lord Jesus, the great Shepherd of the sheep, from among the dead by the blood of the eonian covenant, ²¹ be adapting you to every good work to do His will, doing in us what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to Whom be glory for the eons of the eons. Amen!"
