¹ You shall not sacrifice to Yahweh your Elohim a bull or a flockling in which there is a blemish, any bad thing, for it is an abhorrence to Yahweh your Elohim. ² In case there should be found among you, within one of your gates which Yahweh your Elohim is giving to you, a man or a woman who does evil in the eyes of Yahweh your Elohim so as to trespass against His covenant, ³ and he goes and serves other elohim and bows himself down to them or to the sun or to the moon or to any of the host of the heavens, something that I have instructed not to do, ⁴ and it has been told to you and you have heard it, then you will inquire diligently. And behold, if the truth of the matter is established that this abhorrence was done in Israel, ⁵ then you must bring forth that man or that woman who did this evil thing to your gates, the man or the woman, and you will stone them with stones so that they die. ⁶ At the mouth of two witnesses or three witnesses, the one about to die shall be put to death. He shall not be put to death at the mouth of one witness. ⁷ The hands of the witnesses shall come to be the first against him to put him to death and then the hands of all the people afterward. Thus you will eradicate the evil from among you. ⁸ In case a matter for judgment should be too difficult for you, between blood and blood, between adjudication and adjudication and between assault and assault, any matters of contentions in your gates, then you will arise and ascend to the place which Yahweh your Elohim shall choose. ⁹ And you will come to the priests, the Levites, and to the judge who shall come to be in those days; they will inquire and tell you the word of judgment. ¹⁰ Then you must act in accordance with the word that they shall tell you from that place that Yahweh your Elohim shall choose. You must observe to act according to all that they shall direct you. ¹¹ In accordance with the law by which they shall direct you and according to the judgment that they shall deliver to you, you shall act. You shall not withdraw from the word that they shall tell you, neither to the right nor left. ¹² Yet the man who acts with arrogance by not hearkening at all to the priest (who is standing to minister in the name of Yahweh your Elohim) or to the judge, that man must die. Thus you will eradicate the evil from Israel, ¹³ and all the people shall hear and fear, and not act arrogantly again. ¹⁴ When you come to the land that Yahweh your Elohim is giving to you, and you tenant it and dwell in it, and you say:Let me set a king over me like all the nations who are around me, ¹⁵ then you shall set, yea set over you a king whom Yahweh your Elohim shall choose. From among your brothers shall you set a king over you. You cannot put over you a foreign man who is not of your brothers. ¹⁶ But he shall neither increase horses for himself nor cause his people to return to Egypt in order to get many more horses, for Yahweh, He has said to you:You should not again return in this way further. ¹⁷ He shall neither increase wives for himself, that his heart may not withdraw, nor increase silver and gold for himself to excess. ¹⁸ It will come to be when he is seated on the throne of his kingdom, that he will write for himself a duplicate of this law on a scroll from the one before the priests, the Levites. ¹⁹ And it will be with him, and he will read in it all the days of his life that he may learn:to fear Yahweh your Elohim, to observe all the words of this law and these statutes to obey them, ²⁰ by no means to exalt his heart above his brothers and by no means to withdraw from the instruction, neither to the right nor left, so that he may prolong his days on the throne of his kingdom, he and his sons among Israel.

³ And, behold! Seven other young cows are coming up after them from the waterway, evil in appearance and thin of flesh. And standing are they beside the young cows on the shore of the waterway. ⁴ And eating are the seven young cows, evil in appearance and thin of flesh, the seven young cows, lovely in appearance and plump. And waking is Pharaoh.

¹⁹ And, behold! Seven other young cows are coming up from the waterway after them, poor and exceedingly evil in shape, and emaciated of flesh. Not seen have I such as they in all the land of Egypt, so evil.

⁵ A flawless flockling, a year old male, shall you come to have. From the he-lambs or from the goats shall you take it.

²⁰ Any in which there is a blemish you shall not bring near seeing that it shall not be for acceptance on your behalf. ²¹ When a man brings near a sacrifice of peace offerings to Yahweh to make an extraordinary vow or as a voluntary offering of the herd or of the flock, flawless shall it be for acceptance; no blemish at all shall be in it. ²² Blind or crippled or gashed or with an ulcer or eczema or tetter, you shall not bring these near to Yahweh, nor as a fire offering shall you offer of them on the altar to Yahweh. ²³ As for a bull or a flockling deformed or stunted you may offer it as a voluntary offering, yet for a vow it shall not be accepted. ²⁴ And one with testicles squashed or pounded to pieces or pulled away or cut out you shall not bring near to Yahweh. You shall not do this in your own land, ²⁵ nor shall you bring near as the bread of your Elohim of any of these animals acquired from the hand of a foreigner's son. Since their ruin is in them, and a blemish is in them, they shall not be accepted on your behalf.

²¹ Yet in case there should be a blemish in it, lame or blind, any bad blemish, you shall not sacrifice it to Yahweh your Elohim.

¹⁸ You shall not bring the fee of a prostitute or the price of a cur into the house of Yahweh your Elohim for any vow offering, for they are an abhorrence to Yahweh your Elohim, indeed both of them.

⁴ then her possessor (the former one who had sent her away) shall not be able to reverse himself to take her back to become his wife after she had had herself defiled, for that is an abhorrence before Yahweh. You shall not bring about sin in the land that Yahweh your Elohim is giving to you as an allotment.

¹⁶ For anyone doing these things, anyone doing iniquity, is an abhorrence to Yahweh your Elohim.

¹⁶ These are six things Yahweh hates, Even seven that are abhorrences to His soul:"

¹ Deceitful scales are an abhorrence to Yahweh, Yet an equitable standard weight is acceptable to Him."

⁸ The sacrifice of the wicked is an abhorrence to Yahweh, Yet the prayer of the upright is acceptable to Him."

¹⁰ Standard weight differing with standard weight, ephah with ephah, An abhorrence to Yahweh are they both."

⁸ And in case you are bringing close the blind for sacrifice, is there no evil? And in case you are bringing close the lame and the ill, is there no evil? Offer it, I pray, to your viceroy! Will he accept you or lift your face? says Yahweh of hosts."

¹³ And you say, Behold what tiredness it is! And you puff at Me, says Yahweh of hosts. And you bring the pillaged, and the lame and the ill. And when you bring the approach present, shall I accept it from your hand? says Yahweh of hosts." ¹⁴ And cursed be the plotter, when there is a male in his drove, and his vow is on him, yet he is sacrificing what is ruined to Yahweh. For a great King am I, says Yahweh of hosts, and My name is feared among the nations."

¹⁴ how much rather shall the blood of Christ, Who, through the eonian spirit offers Himself flawless to God, be cleansing your conscience from dead works to be offering divine service to the living and true God?

¹⁹ but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a flawless and unspotted lamb,

¹⁵ and if you reject My statutes, and if your soul loathes My judgments so as not to observe all My instructions, to cause you to annul My covenant,

²⁵ I will bring the sword on you avenging the vengeance of the covenant. When you will be gathered into your cities then I will send the plague into your midst, and you will be given into the hand of the enemy.

²³ Guard yourselves lest you forget the covenant of Yahweh your Elohim that He contracted with you, and so you make for yourselves a carving, a physical representation of anything, against which Yahweh your Elohim had instructed you;"

⁶ In case your brother, the son of your father, or the son of your mother or your son or your daughter or the wife of your bosom or your associate who is as your own soul should incite you in concealment, saying:Let us go, and let us serve other elohim (whom you have not known, you or your fathers, ⁷ of the elohim of the peoples who are around you, those near to you or those far from you, from one end of the land to the other end of the land). ⁸ neither shall you comply with him, nor shall you hearken to him; neither shall your eye commiserate over him, nor shall you spare him; and you shall not cover up for him. ⁹ For you shall kill, yea kill him. Your hand shall be among the first against him to put him to death, and the hand of all the people thereafter. ¹⁰ You will stone him with stones so that he dies, for he sought to induce you away from Yahweh your Elohim, the One bringing you forth from the country of Egypt, from the house of servants. ¹¹ Thus all Israel shall hearken and fear, and they shall not again do anything like this evil thing among you. ¹² In case you hear it said of one of your cities which Yahweh your Elohim is giving to you to dwell there, ¹³ that men, sons of decadence, have gone forth from among you and induced the dwellers of their city, saying:Let us go, and let us serve other elohim (whom you have not known), ¹⁴ then you will inquire, investigate and ask diligently. And behold, if the truth of the matter is being established that this abhorrence was done among you, ¹⁵ then you shall smite, yea smite the dwellers of that city with the edge of the sword. Doom it, all those who are in it and its domestic beasts, with the edge of the sword. ¹⁶ All its loot shall you get together to the middle of its square, and you will burn the city with fire and all its loot as a holocaust to Yahweh your Elohim. It will become an eonian barrow; it shall not be built again. ¹⁷ Nothing whatsoever shall cling to your hand from the doomed loot so that Yahweh may turn back from the heat of His anger and be compassionate to you. He will show you compassion and cause you to increase, just as He had sworn to your fathers, ¹⁸ provided that you shall hearken to the voice of Yahweh your Elohim to observe all His instructions which I am enjoining on you today, to do what is upright and good in the eyes of Yahweh your Elohim.

⁵ then you must bring forth that man or that woman who did this evil thing to your gates, the man or the woman, and you will stone them with stones so that they die.

¹⁸ Beware lest there may be among you a man or woman or family or tribe whose heart today is turning around from being with Yahweh our Elohim to go to serve the elohim of those nations; beware lest there may be among you a root, being fruitful with poison and wormwood.

²⁵ Then some will answer:Because they forsook the covenant of Yahweh Elohim of their fathers, that He had contracted with them when He brought them forth from the country of Egypt,

²⁰ When I shall bring them to the ground gushing with milk and honey about which I had sworn to their fathers, when they eat and are satisfied and are sleek so that they turn around to other elohim and serve them, when they thus spurn Me and annul My covenant,

¹¹ Israel has sinned, and also they have transgressed My covenant which I commanded them, and also taken of the devoted thing, and also stolen, and also deceived, and also put [it] among their vessels,

¹⁵ and it has been, he who is captured with the devoted thing is burnt with fire, he and all that he has, because he has transgressed the covenant of Yahweh, and because he has done folly in Israel..

¹⁶ in your transgressing the covenant of Yahweh your Elohim which He commanded you, and you have gone and served other elohims, and bowed yourselves to them, then has the anger of Yahweh burned against you, and you have perished hastily from off the good land which He has given to you..

²⁰ And the anger of Yahweh does burn against Israel, and He said, `Because that this nation have transgressed My covenant which I commanded their fathers, and have not hearkened to My voice-.

¹² because that they have not hearkened to the voice of Yahweh their Elohim, and transgress His covenant--all that He commanded Moses, servant of Yahweh--yea, they have not hearkened nor done [it].

³² Not like the covenant that I made with their fathers, In the day of My laying hold on their hand, To bring them out of the land of Egypt, In that they made void My covenant, And I ruled over them--an affirmation of Yahweh."

³⁸ And I have judged you--judgments of adulteresses, And of women shedding blood, And have given you blood, fury, and jealousy."

⁷ Yet they, as a human, trespass against the covenant; there they are treacherous against Me."

¹ To your mouth with the trumpet! One as a vulture is over the house of Yahweh, because they trespass against My covenant, and against My law they transgress."

⁹ Not in accord with the covenant which I make with their fathers In the day of My taking hold of their hand To be leading them out of the land of Egypt, Seeing that they do not remain in My covenant, And I neglect them,the Lord is saying, ¹⁰ For this is the covenant which I shall be covenanting with the house of Israel after those days,the Lord is saying: "Imparting My laws to their comprehension, On their hearts, also, shall I be inscribing them, And I shall be to them for a God, And they shall be to Me for a people."

¹⁹ Guard yourselves lest you should lift up your eyes toward the heavens, and you see the sun and the moon and the stars, all the host of the heavens, and be induced to bow yourself down to them and serve them, which Yahweh your Elohim has apportioned to all other peoples beneath the entire heavens.

³ and he turns and builds the high places that Hezekiah his father destroyed, and raises altars for Baal, and makes a shrine, as did Ahab king of Israel, and bows himself to all the host of the heavens, and serves them.

²⁶ If I have seen the sunlight when it irradiates, And the moon advancing like a precious gem, ²⁷ So that my heart was enticed in secret, And my hand kissed my mouth,

²² For I did not speak with your fathers, Nor did I command them in the day of My bringing them out of the land of Egypt, Concerning the matters of burnt-offering and sacrifice, ²³ But this thing I commanded them, saying:Hearken to My voice, And I have been to you for Elohim, And you--you are to Me for a people, And have walked in all the way that I command you, So that it is well for you."

³¹ And have built the high places of Tophet, That [are] in the valley of the son of Hinnom, To burn their sons and their daughters with fire, Which I did not command, Nor did it come up on My heart."

² And have spread them to sun, and to moon, And to all the host of the heavens, that they have loved, And that they have served, And that they have walked after, And that they have sought, And to which they have bowed themselves, They are not gathered, nor buried, They are for dung on the face of the ground."

⁵ and have built the high places of Baal to burn their sons with fire, burnt-offerings to Baal, that I commanded not, nor spoke of, nor did it come up on My heart."

³⁵ And they build the high places of Baal, that [are] in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through to Molech, which I did not command them, nor did it come up on my heart to do this abomination, so as to cause Judah to sin."

¹⁶ And He brings me in unto the inner court of the house of Yahweh, and lo, at the opening of the temple of Yahweh, between the porch and the altar, about twenty-five men, their backs toward the temple of Yahweh, and their faces eastward, and they are bowing themselves eastward to the sun."

¹² In case you hear it said of one of your cities which Yahweh your Elohim is giving to you to dwell there, ¹³ that men, sons of decadence, have gone forth from among you and induced the dwellers of their city, saying:Let us go, and let us serve other elohim (whom you have not known), ¹⁴ then you will inquire, investigate and ask diligently. And behold, if the truth of the matter is being established that this abhorrence was done among you,

¹⁸ The judges will inquire diligently, and behold, should the false witness assert false testimony against his brother,

² It is the glory of Elohim to conceal a matter, And the glory of kings to investigate a matter."

⁵¹ No law of ours is judging a man, if ever it should not first be hearing from him and know what he is doing."

¹⁴ Bring forth the maledictor outside the camp, and all the hearers will support their hands on his head, and the whole congregation will pelt him with stones.

¹⁶ The blasphemer of the name of Yahweh shall be put to death, yea death. The whole congregation shall pelt, yea pelt him with stones. The sojourner as well as the native; when he blasphemes the Name, he shall be put to death.

¹⁰ You will stone him with stones so that he dies, for he sought to induce you away from Yahweh your Elohim, the One bringing you forth from the country of Egypt, from the house of servants. ¹¹ Thus all Israel shall hearken and fear, and they shall not again do anything like this evil thing among you.

²¹ Then all the men of his city will pelt him with stones so that he dies. Thus you will eradicate the evil from among you, and all Israel shall hear and fear.

²¹ then they will bring forth the maiden to the portal of her father's house, and the men of her city will stone her with stones so that she dies, for she committed decadence in Israel so as to prostitute herself while in her father's house. Thus you will eradicate the evil from among you.

²⁴ then you must bring forth both of them to the gate of that city and stone them with stones so that they die, the maiden on the score that she did not cry for help in the city, and the man on the score that he humiliated the wife of his associate. Thus you will eradicate the evil from among you.

²⁵ And Joshua said, `What! you have troubled us! --Yahweh does trouble you this day;' and all Israel cast stones at him, and they burn them with fire, and they stone them with stones,

³⁰ Everyone smiting a soul to death, at the mouth of witnesses one shall murder the murderer. Yet a single witness shall not assert guilt against a soul to cause him to die.

¹⁵ A single witness shall not rise against a man regarding any depravity or any sin. In any sin which one may sin, the matter shall be confirmed at the mouth of two witnesses or at the mouth of three witnesses.

¹⁶ Yet if ever he should not be hearing, take still one or two others along with you, that at the mouth of two witnesses, or of three, every declaration may be made to stand."

¹⁷ 17 Yet in this law, also, of yours it is written that the testimony of two men is true." ¹⁸ I am the One testifying concerning Myself, and the Father Who sends Me is testifying concerning Me."

¹ Lo! This is the third time I am coming to you. At the mouth of two witnesses, and three, shall every declaration be made to stand. "

¹⁹ Against an elder do not assent to an accusation outside and except before two or three witnesses.

²⁸ Anyone repudiating Moses' law is dying without pity on the testimony of two or three witnesses.

⁵ Then that prophet or that dreamer of dreams shall be put to death because he spoke of defection from Yahweh your Elohim (the One bringing you forth from the country of Egypt and the One ransoming you from the house of servants) so as to induce you from the way in which Yahweh your Elohim has instructed you to walk. Hence eradicate the evil from among you.

⁹ For you shall kill, yea kill him. Your hand shall be among the first against him to put him to death, and the hand of all the people thereafter.

¹² Yet the man who acts with arrogance by not hearkening at all to the priest (who is standing to minister in the name of Yahweh your Elohim) or to the judge, that man must die. Thus you will eradicate the evil from Israel,

¹⁹ then you must do to him just as he schemed to do to his brother. Thus you will eradicate the evil from among you.

⁷ In case a man should be found stealing a soul from his brothers of the sons of Israel, and he makes a chattel of him or sells him, then that thief must die. Thus you will eradicate the evil from among you.

¹³ And now, give up the men--sons of worthlessness--which [are] in Gibeah, and we put them to death, and we put away evil from Israel.' And [the sons of] Benjamin have not been willing to hearken to the voice of their brethren, the sons of Israel;"

⁵⁸ And, casting him out, outside of the city, they pelted him with stones. And the witnesses put off their garments at the feet of a young man called Saul." ⁵⁹ And they pelted Stephen with stones, while he is invoking and saying, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit!"

¹³ Now those outside, God is judging. Expel the wicked one from among yourselves."

²⁶ They judged the people in every season. The hard matter were they bringing to Moses, and every small matter they were judging themselves.

¹² The smiter of a man that dies shall be put to death, yea death. ¹³ But if he had no malicious intent, yet the One, Elohim, He had fated him into his hand, then I set for you a place where he shall flee. ¹⁴ Yet in case a man was planning arrogantly against his associate so as to kill him by craft, from My altar shall you take him to die.

²⁰ When a man smites his servant or his maidservant with a club and he dies under his hand, he shall be avenged, yea avenged;"

²² When men strive together and strike a pregnant woman, and her child comes forth, and no mishap comes to be, he shall be fined, yea fined just as the woman's possessor shall impose on him, and he will pay through mediators. "

²⁸ When a bull gores a man or a woman and he dies, the bull shall be stoned, yea stoned, and its flesh shall not be eaten, yet the possessor of the bull shall be held innocent.

² (If the thief is found while burrowing and is smitten so that he dies, there is no blood-guilt because of him.

¹¹ then you will proclaim your cities which shall be cities of asylum for you; there the manslayer will flee, whoever is smiting a soul to death inadvertently.

¹⁶ Yet if he smites him with an iron instrument and he dies, he is a murderer. The murderer shall be put to death, yea death.

¹⁹ The redeemer of blood, he shall put the murderer to death; when he comes upon him he shall put him to death. ²⁰ And if he thrusts him in hatred or flings anything at him with malicious intent and he dies, ²¹ or he smites him in enmity with his hand and he dies, the smiter shall be put to death, yea death; he is a murderer. The redeemer of blood shall put the murderer to death when he comes upon him. ²² Yet if in an instant, with no enmity, he thrusts him or flings any article at him with no malicious intent, ²³ or, when not seeing him, he causes any stone by which one may die to fall on him and he dies, yet he was not his enemy and was not seeking his evil, ²⁴ then the congregation will judge between the smiter and the redeemer of blood by these judgments; ²⁵ and the congregation will rescue the manslayer from the hand of the redeemer of blood, and the congregation will restore him to his city of asylum where he had fled. He will dwell in it until the death of the great priest, whom one anointed with the holy oil. ²⁶ Yet if the manslayer goes forth, yea forth beyond the boundary of his city of asylum where he had fle. ²⁷ and the redeemer of blood finds him outside the boundary of his city of asylum, and the redeemer of blood murders the manslayer, there is no bloodguilt on him, ²⁸ for he should dwell in his city of asylum until the death of the great priest. Yet after the death of the great priest the manslayer may return to the land of his holding. ²⁹ These will be for you a statute of judgment throughout your generations in all your dwellings. ³⁰ Everyone smiting a soul to death, at the mouth of witnesses one shall murder the murderer. Yet a single witness shall not assert guilt against a soul to cause him to die. ³¹ Nor shall you take a sheltering ransom for the soul of the murderer, who stands condemned to die; for he shall be put to death, yea death. ³² And no sheltering ransom shall you take for one who had fled to his city of asylum only to return to dwell in the land before the death of the great priest. ³³ You shall not pollute the land in which you are dwelling; for it is the blood that pollutes the land. As for the land, no shelter may be made for the blood which was shed on it save by the blood of him who shed it. ³⁴ You shall not defile the land in which you are dwelling, in whose midst I am tabernacling, for I, Yahweh, am tabernacling in the midst of the sons of Israel.

¹⁷ You shall not recognize faces with partiality in judgment. You shall hear the small as the great. You shall not shrink away from any man's face, because the judgment, it is Elohim's. And the matter which is too hard for you, you shall bring near to me that I may hear it.

⁵ But rather for the place that Yahweh your Elohim shall choose from all your tribes, to establish His name there, you shall inquire for His tabernacle, and there will you come.

⁴ This is the word about the manslayer who may flee there and live:Whoever should smite his associate without knowledge when he was not hating him heretofore,

¹⁰ Thus within your land that Yahweh your Elohim is giving to you as an allotment, the blood of the innocent shall not be shed so that no guilt of bloodshed comes to be on you. ¹¹ But if a man is hating his associate, and he waits in ambush for him, rises against him and smites his soul so that he dies, and he flees to one of these cities,

¹⁷ then the two men who have the contention must stand before Yahweh and before the priests and the judges who shall come to be in those days.

¹⁶ then come in do two women, harlots, unto the king, and stand before him, ¹⁷ and the one woman said, `O, my lord, I and this woman are dwelling in one house, and I bring forth with her, in the house;" <sup>18</sup> and it comes to pass on the third day of my bringing forth, that this woman also brings forth, and we [are] together, there is no stranger with us in the house, save we two, in the house. <sup>19</sup> And the son of this woman dies at night, because she has lain upon it, <sup>20</sup> and she rises in the middle of the night, and takes my son from beside me--and your handmaid is asleep--and lays it in her bosom, and her dead son she has laid in my bosom;" <sup>21</sup> and I rise in the morning to suckle my son, and lo, dead; and I consider concerning it in the morning, and lo, it was not my son whom I did bear.. <sup>22</sup> And the other woman said, `Nay, but my son [is] the living, and your son the dead;' and this [one] said, `Nay, but your son [is] the dead, and my son the living.' And they speak before the king. <sup>23</sup> And the king said, `This [one] said, This [is] my son, the living, and your son [is] the dead; and that [one] said, Nay, but your son [is] the dead, and my son the living.. ²⁴ And the king said, `Take for me a sword;' and they bring the sword before the king, <sup>25</sup> and the king said, `Cut the living child into two, and give the half to the one, and the half to the other.. ²⁶ And the woman whose son [is] the living one said unto the king (for her bowels yearned over her son), yea, she said, `O, my lord, give to her the living child, and put it not at all to death;' and this [one] said, `Let it be neither mine or your--cut [it].. ²⁷ And the king answers and said, `Give you to her the living child, and put it not at all to death; she [is] its mother.. ²⁸ And all Israel hear of the judgment that the king has judged, and fear because of the king, for they have seen that the wisdom of Elohim [is] in his heart, to do judgment.

⁸ And also in Jerusalem has Jehoshaphat appointed of the Levites, and of the priests, and of the heads of the fathers of Israel, for the judgment of Yahweh, and for strife; and they turn back to Jerusalem, ⁹ and he lays a charge upon them, saying, `Thus do you do in the fear of Yahweh, in faithfulness, and with a perfect heart, ¹⁰ and any strife that comes in unto you of your brethren who are dwelling in their cities, between blood and blood, between law and command, statutes, and judgments, then you have warned them and they become not guilty before Yahweh, and wrath has not been on you and on your brethren; thus do you do, and you are not guilty.

⁴ Where the tribes ascend, The tribes of Yah, a testimony for Israel, To acclaim the Name of Yahweh." ⁵ For there are located thrones of judgment, The thrones for the house of David."

¹¹ Thus says Yahweh of hosts:Ask, I pray, the priests of the law, saying,

⁷ For the lips of a priest shall keep knowledge, and the law shall they seek from his mouth, for the messenger of Yahweh of hosts is he."

¹⁷ then the two men who have the contention must stand before Yahweh and before the priests and the judges who shall come to be in those days. ¹⁸ The judges will inquire diligently, and behold, should the false witness assert false testimony against his brother, ¹⁹ then you must do to him just as he schemed to do to his brother. Thus you will eradicate the evil from among you. ²⁰ The remainder shall hearken and fear, and they shall no longer continue to do anything like this evil matter among you. ²¹ Your eye shall not commiserate:soul for soul, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.

¹⁸ And they say, Come, And we devise against Jeremiah devices, For law does not perish from the priest, Nor counsel from the wise, Nor the word from the prophet, Come, and we smite him with the tongue, And we do not attend to any of his words."

²⁴ And concerning controversy, they stand up for judgment; with My judgments they judge it; and My law and My statutes in all My appointed places they keep; and My sabbaths they sanctify."

² Likened was the kingdom of the heavens to a man, a king, who makes wedding festivities for his son." ³ And he dispatches his slaves to call those invited to the wedding festivities, and they would not come."

³² You will observe to do just as Yahweh your Elohim had enjoined on you. You shall not withdraw to the right or to the left.

²⁰ by no means to exalt his heart above his brothers and by no means to withdraw from the instruction, neither to the right nor left, so that he may prolong his days on the throne of his kingdom, he and his sons among Israel.

¹ In case there should come to be a contention between men, and they come close for judgment, and they judge them, then they will justify the righteous and condemn the wicked.

¹⁴ You shall not withdraw from any of the words which I am instructing you today, neither to the right nor left, to go after other elohim to serve them.

⁷ `Only, be strong and very courageous, to observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; you do not turn aside from it right or left, so that you do act wisely in every [place] whither you go;"

⁶ and you have been very strong to keep and to do the whole that is written in the Book of the Law of Moses, so as not to turn aside from it right or left,

¹⁹ And the king said, `Is the hand of Joab with you in all this?' And the woman answers and said, `Your soul lives, my lord, O king, none [does turn] to the right or to the left from all that my lord the king has spoken; for your servant Joab he commanded me, and he put in the mouth of your maid-servant all these words;"

²⁷ Do not turn aside to the right or left; Take away your foot from evil.

⁸ Yet you withdraw from the way. You cause many to stumble at the law. You ruin the covenant of Levi, says Yahweh of hosts." ⁹ And, moreover, I make you despised and low to all the people, according as you are not keeping My ways, yet you lift up faces in the law."

¹ Let every soul be subject to the superior authorities, for there is no authority except under God. Now those which are, have been set under God, ² so that he who is resisting an authority has withstood God's mandate. Now those who have withstood, will be getting judgment for themselves, ³ for magistrates are not a fear to the good act, but to the evil. Now you do not want to be fearing the authority. Do good, and you will be having applause from it." ⁴ For it is God's servant for your good. Now if you should be doing evil, fear, for not feignedly is it wearing the sword. For it is God's servant, an avenger for indignation to him who is committing evil." ⁵ Wherefore it is necessary to be subject, not only because of indignation, but also because of conscience." ⁶ For therefore you are settling taxes also, for they are God's ministers, perpetuated for this self-same thing."

¹ Remind them to be subject to sovereignties, to authorities; to be yielding, and to be ready for every good work,

¹³ You may be subject to every human creation because of the Lord, whether to the king, as a superior, ¹⁴ or to governors, as being sent by him for vengeance on evildoers, yet for the applause of doers of good." ¹⁵ For thus it is the will of God, by doing good to be muzzling the ignorance of imprudent men;"

¹⁰ yet specially those going after the flesh in defiling lust and despising lordship. Audacious, given to self-gratification, they are not trembling when calumniating glories,

⁸ Howbeit, these dreamers also, likewise are indeed defiling the flesh, yet are repudiating lordship and calumniating glories."

³⁰ Yet the soul who is doing anything with a high hand, from the native and from the sojourner, he is taunting Yahweh; that soul will be cut off from among his people,

⁸ At that time Yahweh separated the tribe of Levi to carry the coffer of the covenant of Yahweh, to stand before Yahweh to minister to Him and to bless in His name until this day.

¹¹ Thus all Israel shall hearken and fear, and they shall not again do anything like this evil thing among you.

⁷ The hands of the witnesses shall come to be the first against him to put him to death and then the hands of all the people afterward. Thus you will eradicate the evil from among you.

⁵ for Yahweh your Elohim has chosen him from all your tribes to stand before Yahweh your Elohim to minister and to bless in the name of Yahweh, him and his sons, all the days.

⁷ then he may minister in the name of Yahweh his Elohim, like all his brothers, the Levites, those standing there before Yahweh.

²⁰ But the prophet who shall act arrogantly by speaking a word in My name which I did not instruct him to speak, or who shall speak in the name of other elohim, that prophet must die.

⁸ and anyone who did not come within three days might, on the counsel of the chiefs and the elders, have all his goods doomed and he himself be separated from the assembly of the sons of deportation.

¹³ Moreover, keep back Your servant from arrogancies; Let them not rule over me. Then I shall be flawless, And I will be innocent of great transgression."

¹¹ When a mocker is fined, the simple person shall become wise, And when a wise man gains intelligence, he takes in knowledge."

³ `From the thirteenth year of Josiah son of Amon king of Judah, and unto this day--this three and twentieth year--has the word of Yahweh been unto me, and I speak unto you, rising early and speaking, and you have not hearkened;" <sup>4</sup> And Yahweh has sent unto you all His servants, the prophets, rising early and sending, and you have not hearkened, nor inclined your ear to hear, saying:" <sup>5</sup> `Turn back, I pray you, each from his evil way, and from the evil of your doings, and dwell on the ground that Yahweh has given to you and to your fathers from eon unto eon, ⁶ And you do not go after other elohims to serve them, and to bow yourselves to them, nor do you provoke Me to anger with the work of your hands, and I do no evil to you;" ⁷ And you have not hearkened unto Me--an affirmation of Yahweh--so as to provoke Me to anger with the work of your hands for evil to you. ⁸ `Therefore thus said Yahweh of Hosts, Because that you have not obeyed My words, <sup>9</sup> Lo, I am sending, and have taken all the families of the north--an affirmation of Yahweh--even unto Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, My servant, and have brought them in against this land, and against its inhabitants, and against all these nations round about, and have devoted them, and appointed them for an astonishment, and for a hissing, and for wastes eonian." <sup>10</sup> And I have destroyed from them the voice of rejoicing, and the voice of joy, voice of bridegroom and voice of bride, noise of millstones, and the light of lamps." <sup>11</sup> And all this land has been for a waste, for an astonishment, and these nations have served the king of Babylon seventy years." <sup>12</sup> `And it has come to pass, at the fulness of seventy years, I charge against the king of Babylon, and against that nation--an affirmation of Yahweh--their iniquity, and against the land of the Chaldeans, and have appointed it for desolations eonian." ¹³ And I have brought in on that land all My words that I have spoken against it, all that is written in this book, that Jeremiah has prophesied concerning all the nations." ¹⁴ For laid service on them--also them--have many nations and great kings, and I have given recompence to them according to their doing, and according to the work of their hands."

⁴ Yea, a man must not be contending, and a man must not be correcting another. Yet My people are as those contending against a priest."

¹⁴ And whosoever should not be receiving you, nor yet be hearing your words, coming outside of that house or city or village, shake off the dust from your feet."

¹⁶ He who is hearing you is hearing Me. And he who is repudiating you is repudiating Me. Yet he who is repudiating Me is repudiating Him Who commissions Me."

⁴⁸ He who is repudiating Me and not getting My declarations, has that which is judging him; the word which I speak, that will be judging him in the last day,

²³ If you should be forgiving anyone's sins, they have been forgiven them. If anyone's you should be holding, they are held."

² for you are aware what charges we give to you through the Lord Jesus.

⁸ Surely, in consequence, then, he who is repudiating is not repudiating man, but God, Who is also giving His holy spirit to you."

²⁰ Those who are sinning be exposing in the sight of all, that the rest also may have fear."

²⁶ For at our sinning voluntarily after obtaining the recognition of the truth, it is no longer leaving a sacrifice concerned with sins, ²⁷ but a certain fearful waiting for judging and fiery jealousy, about to be eating the hostile." ²⁸ Anyone repudiating Moses' law is dying without pity on the testimony of two or three witnesses. ²⁹ Of how much worse punishment, are you supposing, will he be counted worthy who tramples on the Son of God, and deems the blood of the covenant by which he is hallowed contaminating, and outrages the spirit of grace?

³⁰ Yet the soul who is doing anything with a high hand, from the native and from the sojourner, he is taunting Yahweh; that soul will be cut off from among his people, ³¹ since the word of Yahweh he despised and His instruction he annulled. That soul shall be cut off, yea cut off; his depravity is on him.

²⁰ The remainder shall hearken and fear, and they shall no longer continue to do anything like this evil matter among you.

³⁴ When you come to the land of Canaan which I am giving to you for a holding and I put the contagion of leprous mold in a house of the land of your holding,

¹ When Yahweh your Elohim brings you into the land where you are about to enter in order to tenant it, and He eases many nations out before your face, the Hittite, the Girgashite, the Amorite, the Canaanite, the Perizzite, the Hivite and the Jebusite, seven nations more numerous and substantial than you,

³¹ For you are crossing over the Jordan to enter and to tenant the land that Yahweh your Elohim is giving to you. When you tenant it and dwell in it,

⁹ because until now you have not come to the resting place and to the allotment that Yahweh your Elohim is giving to you. ¹⁰ When you cross over the Jordan and dwell in the land that Yahweh your Elohim is giving to you as an allotment, and He gives rest to you from all your enemies from round about, so that you may dwell in trust,

⁹ When you come to the land that Yahweh your Elohim is giving to you, you shall not learn to act according to the abhorrences of those nations.

¹ It will come to be when you come into the land that Yahweh your Elohim is giving to you as an allotment, and you tenant it and dwell in it,

⁹ And He brought us to this place and gave to us this land, a land gushing with milk and honey.

¹³ `Remember the word which Moses, servant of Yahweh, commanded you, saying, Yahweh your Elohim is giving rest to you, and He has given to you this land;"

⁵ and say unto him, `Lo, you have become aged, and your sons have not walked in your ways; now, appoint to us a king, to judge us, like all the nations.. <sup>6</sup> And the thing is evil in the eyes of Samuel, when they have said, `Give to us a king to judge us;' and Samuel prays unto Yahweh. ⁷ And Yahweh said unto Samuel, `Hearken to the voice of the people, to all that they say unto you, for you they have not rejected, but Me they have rejected, from reigning over them.

¹⁹ And the people refuse to hearken to the voice of Samuel, and say, `Nay, but a king is over us, ²⁰ and we have been, even we, like all the nations; and our king has judged us, and gone out before us, and fought our battles..

¹⁹ and all the people say unto Samuel, `Pray for your servants unto Yahweh your Elohim, and we do not die, for we have added to all our sins evil to ask for us a king..

¹⁵ and Yahweh had uncovered the ear of Samuel one day before the coming of Saul, saying, ¹⁶ `At this time tomorrow, I send unto you a man out of the land of Benjamin--and you have anointed him for leader over My people Israel, and he has saved My people out of the hand of the Philistines; for I have seen My people, for its cry has come in unto Me.. <sup>17</sup> When Samuel has seen Saul, then has Yahweh answered him, `Lo, the man of whom I have spoken unto you; this [one] does restrain My people..

²⁴ And Samuel said unto all the people, `Have you seen him on whom Yahweh has fixed, for there is none like him among all the people?' And all the people shout, and say, `Let the king live!.

¹² And he sends, and brings him in, and he [is] ruddy, with beauty of eyes, and of good appearance; and Yahweh said, `Rise, anoint him, for this [is] he.. ¹³ And Samuel takes the horn of oil, and anoints him in the midst of his brethren, and prosper over David does the Spirit of Yahweh from that day and onwards; and Samuel rises and goes to Ramath.

² also heretofore, in Saul's being king over us, you have been he who is bringing out and bringing in Israel, and Yahweh said to you, You do feed My people Israel, and you are for leader over Israel..

²³ And these [are] the numbers of the head, of the armed men of the host; they have come in unto David to Hebron to turn round the kingdom of Saul unto him, according to the mouth of Yahweh.

¹⁰ he does build a house to My name, and he is to Me for a son, and I [am] to him for a father, and I have established the throne of his kingdom over Israel unto the eon.

⁵ and out of all my sons--for many sons has Yahweh given to me--He also fixes on Solomon my son, to sit on the throne of the kingdom of Yahweh over Israel,

² The kings of the earth are standing by, And the chancellors are gathered together Against Yahweh and against His Anointed, saying,

⁶ I will pour a libation on My King, On Zion, My holy mountain.

²⁵ Withhold your foot from being unshod, And your throat from thirst, And you say, `It is incurable, No, for I have loved strangers, and after them I go.'"

²¹ And his honorable one has been of himself, And his ruler from his midst goes forth, And I have caused him to draw near, And he has drawn nigh unto Me, For who [is] he who has pledged his heart To draw nigh unto Me? An affirmation of Yahweh."

¹⁷ Tell us, then, what you are supposing. Is it allowed to give poll tax to Caesar, or not?

¹⁷ It came to be when Pharaoh had dismissed the people, that Elohim did not guide them by way of the land of the Philistines, though it was near, for Elohim said: Lest the people should regret when they see war, and return to Egypt.

¹³ Then Moses said to the people: Do not fear! Station yourselves and see the salvation of Yahweh which He shall work for you today, for you see the Egyptians today, you shall not anymore see them again unto the eon.

³ Why is Yahweh bringing us to this land to fall by the sword? Our wives and our little ones shall be taken as plunder. Is it not better for us to return to Egypt? ⁴ And they said each to his brother:Let us appoint a head, and let us return to Egypt.

⁶⁸ Then Yahweh will bring you back complaining to Egypt by the way of which I said to you:You should not again see it further. There you will put yourselves up for sale to your enemies as servants and as maids, yet there will be no buyer.

¹¹ and said, `This is the custom of the king who does reign over you:Your sons he does take, and has appointed for himself among his chariots, and among his horsemen, and they have run before his chariots;"

⁴ and David captures from him a thousand and seven hundred horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen, and David destroys utterly the whole of the charioteers, only he leaves of them a hundred charioteers.

⁵ And Adonijah son of Haggith is lifting himself up, saying, `I do reign;' and he prepares for himself a chariot and horsemen, and fifty men running before him,

²⁶ And Solomon has forty thousand stalls of horses for his chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen.

²⁶ And Solomon gathers chariots, and horsemen, and he has a thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, and he places them in the cities of the chariot, and with the king in Jerusalem. ²⁷ And the king makes the silver in Jerusalem as stones, and the cedars he has made as the sycamores that [are] in the low country, for abundance. ²⁸ And the outgoing of the horses that king Solomon has [is] from Egypt, and from Keveh; merchants of the king take from Keveh at a price;"

²⁵ And there are to Solomon four thousand stalls for horses and chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, and he placed them in cities of the chariot, and with the king in Jerusalem.

⁷ These boast in chariots, and those in horses, But as for us, concerning the Name of Yahweh our Elohim, we are ever mindful."

¹ Woe to those going down to Egypt for help! On horses are they leaning, and trusting in chariots, for they are many, and on horsemen, for they are very staunch. And they do not heed the Holy One of Israel, and of Yahweh Elohim they do not inquire." ² Yet, moreover, He is wise, and will bring evil, and His words He does not take away, and He rises against the house of the evil doers, and against the help of the contrivers of lawlessness." ³ Yet Egyptians are human and not the El, and their horses are flesh, and not spirit. When Yahweh is stretching out His hand, then the helper falters; and he who is helped falls. And, together, all of them will be finished."

⁸ `And now, pray, give hostages to my lord, the king of Assyria, and I will give to you two thousand horses, if you can put your riders on them." ⁹ Then how will you reverse the face of one viceroy of my lord's small servants? Yet you yourself are trusting on Egypt for chariots and for horsemen.

¹⁴ saying, No; but the land of Egypt we enter, that we see no war, and the sound of a trumpet do not hear, and for bread be not hungry; and there do we dwell." ¹⁵ And now, therefore, hear you a word of Yahweh, O remnant of Judah:Thus said Yahweh of Hosts, Elohim of Israel:If you really set your faces to enter Egypt, and have gone in to sojourn there, ¹⁶ then it has come to pass, the sword that you are afraid of, does there overtake you, in the land of Egypt; and the hunger, because of which you are sorrowful, does there cleave after you in Egypt, and there you die."

¹⁵ And he rebels against him, To send his messengers to Egypt, To give to him horses, and much people, Does he prosper? does he escape who is doing these things? And has he broken covenant and escaped?

⁵ And Ephraim shall not return to dwell in the land of Egypt, yet the Assyrian, he shall be his king, seeing that they refuse to return to Me."

³ Assyria will not save us; we will not ride on the horse. Nor shall we still say, Our elohim, to the work of our hands. For in You, the orphan is being shown compassion."

²⁴ Therefore a man shall forsake his father and his mother and cling to his wife, and they two become one flesh.

² And there are born to David sons in Hebron, and his first-born is Amnon, of Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, ³ and his second [is] Chileab, of Abigail wife of Nabal the Carmelite, and the third [is] Absalom son of Maacah daughter of Talmai king of Geshur, ⁴ and the fourth [is] Adonijah son of Haggith, and the fifth [is] Shephatiah son of Abital, ⁵ and the sixth [is] Ithream, of Eglah wife of David; these have been born to David in Hebron.

²¹ And all the drinking vessels of king Solomon [are] of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon [are] of refined gold--there are none of silver; it was not reckoned in the days of Solomon for anything,

¹ And king Solomon has loved many strange women, and the daughter of Pharaoh, females of Moab, Ammon, Edom, Zidon, [and] of the Hittites, ² of the nations of which Yahweh said unto the sons of Israel, `You do not go in to them, and they do not go in to you; surely they turn aside your heart after their elohims;' to them has Solomon cleaved for love. ³ And he has women, princesses, seven hundred, and concubines three hundred; and his wives turn aside his heart. ⁴ And it comes to pass, at the time of the old age of Solomon, his wives have turned aside his heart after other elohims, and his heart has not been perfect with Yahweh his Elohim, like the heart of David his father.

²⁶ `By these did not Solomon king of Israel sin? and among the many nations there was no king like him, and beloved by his Elohim he was, and Elohim makes him king over all Israel--even him did the strange women cause to sin.

¹⁰ Do not trust in extortion, And in pillage, do not place vain hope; Though your estate be producing, do not set your heart on it."

⁸ Put futility and the lying word far from me; Destitution or riches do not give to me; Only provide me a meal of my daily dole of bread, ⁹ Lest I should be surfeited So that I disavow You and say, Who is Yahweh? Or lest I be destitute and steal, So that I denigrate the name of my El."

¹⁵ And did not He make you one? Yet the rest of the spirit is His. And you say, What! Is one seeking a seed of Elohim? Now you beware in your spirit, for with the wife of your youth you must not be treacherous."

¹⁹ Do not hoard for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and corrosion are causing them to disappear, and where thieves are tunneling and stealing." ²⁰ Yet hoard for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor corrosion are causing them to disappear, and where thieves are not tunneling nor stealing;"

²² Now he who is being sown in the thorns, this is he who is hearing the word, and the worry of this eon and the seduction of riches are stifling the word, and it is becoming unfruitful."

⁵ and He said, 'On this account a man shall be leaving father and mother and shall be joined to his wife, and the two shall be one flesh'?

²³ Now Jesus said to His disciples, "Verily, I am saying to you that the rich squeamishly will be entering into the kingdom of the heavens." ²⁴ Yet again, I am saying to you that it is easier for a camel to be entering through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to be entering into the kingdom of God."

¹⁵ Now He said to them, "See and guard against all greed, for one's life is not in the superfluity of his possessions."

⁹ Now, those intending to be rich are falling into a trial and a trap and the many foolish and harmful desires which are swamping men in extermination and destruction."

¹⁷ Those who are rich in the current eon be charging not to be haughty, nor yet to rely on the dubiousness of riches, but on God, Who is tendering us all things richly for our enjoyment;"

⁹ Then Moses wrote this law and gave it to the priests, the sons of Levi, the carriers of the coffer of the covenant of Yahweh, and to all the elders of Israel.

²⁴ It came to be as Moses concluded writing all the words of this law on a scroll until they were finished, ²⁵ that Moses instructed the Levites, the carriers of the coffer of the covenant of Yahweh, saying. ²⁶ You are to take this scroll of the law, and you must place it by the side of the coffer of the covenant of Yahweh your Elohim, and it will come to be there as a testimony against you,

¹² and he brings out the son of the king, and puts on him the crown, and the testimony, and they make him king, and anoint him, and smite the hand, and say, `Let the king live..

⁸ And Hilkiah the high priest said unto Shaphan the scribe, `A book of the law I have found in the house of Yahweh;' and Hilkiah gives the book unto Shaphan, and he reads it.

¹⁵ and Hilkiah answers and said unto Shaphan the scribe, `A book of the law I have found in the house of Yahweh;' and Hilkiah gives the book unto Shaphan,

¹⁰ the day that you stood before Yahweh your Elohim at Horeb, when Yahweh said to me:Assemble the people to Me that I may let them hear My words, so that they may learn to fear Me all the days that they are alive on the ground and may teach their sons.

⁶ These words which I am instructing you today will come to be in your heart. ⁷ Repeat them to your sons, and speak of them when you sit in your house, when you walk on the road, when you lie down and when you arise. ⁸ Tie them for a sign on your hand, and they will come to be for the brow bands between your eyes;" ⁹ Write them on the jambs of your house and on your gates.

¹⁸ Hence place these my words in your heart and in your soul, and tie them as a sign on your hand, and let them come to be as brow-bands between your eyes.

⁸ the book of this law does not depart out of your mouth, and you have meditated in it by day and by night, so that you do observe to do according to all that is written in it, for then you do cause your way to prosper, and then you do act wisely.

² But rather his delight is in the law of Yahweh, And he is soliloquizing from His law by day and night.

⁹⁷ How I love Your law! The entire day it is my meditation. ⁹⁸ Your instruction makes me wiser than my enemies, For it is with me for the eon." ⁹⁹ I have gained insight more than all my teachers, For Your testimonies are my meditation." ¹⁰⁰ I have gained more understanding than elders, For I preserve Your precepts."

³⁹ Search the scriptures, for in them you are supposing you have life eonian, and those are they which are testifying concerning Me,

¹⁵ and that from a babe you are acquainted with the sacred scriptures which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. ¹⁶ All scripture is inspired by God, and is beneficial for teaching, for exposure, for correction, for discipline in righteousness, ¹⁷ that the man of God may be equipped, fitted out for every good act."

² You shall neither add to the word that I am enjoining on you, nor shall you subtract from it, but observe the instructions of Yahweh your Elohim that I am enjoining on you.

² And remember all the way which Yahweh your Elohim caused you to go these forty years in the wilderness, that He might make you humble, to probe you so as to know what is in your heart, whether or not you shall observe His instructions.

¹³ and your herd and your flock multiply, and silver and gold increase for you, and all that is yours is abundant, ¹⁴ then your heart becomes exalted and you forget Yahweh your Elohim Who was bringing you forth from the country of Egypt, from the house of servants,

²⁵ You shall not eat it that it may be well with you and with your sons after you, for you shall do what is good and upright in the eyes of Yahweh.

²⁸ Observe and hear all these words which I am instructing you today, that it may be well with you and with your sons after you until the eon, for you shall do what is good and upright in the eyes of Yahweh your Elohim.

³² Every word which I am enjoining on you today, you shall observe to obey it. You shall neither add to it, nor shall you subtract from it.

¹¹ In accordance with the law by which they shall direct you and according to the judgment that they shall deliver to you, you shall act. You shall not withdraw from the word that they shall tell you, neither to the right nor left.

¹³ And Samuel said unto Saul, `You have been foolish; you have not kept the command of Yahweh your Elohim, which He commanded you, for now had Yahweh established your kingdom over Israel unto the eon;" ¹⁴ and, now, your kingdom does not stand, Yahweh has sought for Himself a man according to His own heart, and Yahweh charges him for leader over His people, for you have not kept that which Yahweh commanded you..

²³ for a sin of divination [is] rebellion, and iniquity and teraphim [is] stubbornness; because you have rejected the word of Yahweh, He also does reject you from [being] king..

¹² `Only, in your days I do it not, for the sake of David your father; out of the hand of your son I rend it;" ¹³ only all the kingdom I do not rend away; one tribe I give to your son, for the sake of David My servant, and for the sake of Jerusalem, that I have chosen..

³⁴ `And I do not take the whole of the kingdom out of his hand, for prince I make him all days of his life, for the sake of David My servant whom I chose, who kept My commands and My statutes;"

³⁶ and to his son I give one tribe, for there being a lamp to David My servant all the days before Me in Jerusalem, the city that I have chosen to Myself to put My name there.

⁵ in that David did that which [is] right in the eyes of Yahweh, and turned not aside from all that He commanded him all days of his life--only in the matter of Uriah the Hittite;"

³⁰ And Yahweh said unto Jehu, `Because that you have done well, to do that which [is] right in Mine eyes--according to all that [is] in My heart you have done to the house of Ahab--the sons of the fourth [generation] do sit for you on the throne of Israel..

²⁵ and Hezekiah has not returned according to the deed [done] unto him, for his heart has been lofty, and there is wrath upon him, and upon Judah and Jerusalem;" ²⁶ and Hezekiah is humbled for the loftiness of his heart, he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and the wrath of Yahweh has not come upon them in the days of Hezekiah.

¹² And when he is in distress he has appeased the face of Yahweh his Elohim, and is humbled exceedingly before the Elohim of his fathers,

¹⁹ and his prayer, and his entreaty, and all his sin, and his trespass, and the places in which he had built high places, and established the shrines and the graven images before his being humbled, lo, they are written beside the matters of Hozai.

²³ and has not been humbled before Yahweh, like the humbling of Manasseh his father, for Amon himself has multiplied guilt.

²⁷ Because your heart [is] tender, and you are humbled before Elohim in your hearing His words concerning this place, and concerning its inhabitants, and are humbled before Me, and do rend your garments, and weep before Me:even I also have heard--the affirmation of Yahweh.

¹¹ Moreover, Your servant is being warned by them; In the keeping of them is a great consequence."

¹ {A Song of Ascents, Davidic{ O Yahweh, my heart is not haughty; Nor are my eyes set high, And I do not walk in ways too great Or too difficult for me." ² Assuredly I have poised and stilled my soul Like a weaned child with his mother; Like a weaned child is my soul to me.

¹² If your sons should keep My covenant And My testimonies that I shall teach them, Their sons also unto the future, They shall sit on your throne."

²⁷ The fear of Yahweh shall add days, Yet the years of the wicked shall be shortened."

²⁴ For assets do not last for an eon, Nor does a treasure for generation after generation."

¹³ Yet good shall not come to the wicked one, Nor shall he prolong his days like a shadow, Because there is no fear before Elohim."

¹² For a day for Yahweh of hosts is on everyone proud and high, and on everyone lifted up, and abased is he."

²⁰ Yet when his heart was exalted and his spirit was mightily arrogant, he was deposed from the throne of his kingdom and they caused his esteem to pass away from him:" ²¹ From the sons of mortals was he shoved, his heart was made equal to an animal's and with the wild donkeys was his abode. Herbage are they feeding to him, as oxen, and by the night mist of the heavens was his frame streaked, till he knew that the Supreme Eloah is in authority in the kingdom of mortals, and whom He is willing is He setting up over it." ²² Yet you, his grandson Belshazzar, you abase not your heart in Eloah's sight, forasmuch as all this you know." ²³ Over the Lord, the Eloah of the heavens, you exalt yourself; the vessels of His house they bring hither before you; you and your grandees, your consorts and your concubines are drinking turbid wine from them. Also elohim of silver, gold, copper, iron, wood, and stone who are not perceiving and not hearing and not knowing, these you laud, yet the Eloah in Whose hand is your breath, and for Whom are all your paths, Him you do not honor."

⁴ Behold! it is made presumptuous:his soul is not upright in him. Yet the just one by his faith shall live.

⁷ Wherefore also, lest I should be lifted up by the transcendence of the revelations, there was given to me a splinter in the flesh, a messenger of Satan, that he may be buffeting me, lest I may be lifted up. "

⁵ Likewise, younger men may be subject to the elder, yet all wear the servile apron of humility with one another, for God "is resisting the proud, yet is giving grace to the humble."
