³⁸ Much seed shall you bring forth to the field, yet little shall you gather, for the locust shall eat it up.

¹⁴ Then the locust swarm ascended over all the land of Egypt, and it rested within the entire boundary of Egypt, exceedingly heavy. Before it there had not come to be a locust swarm so great as it, and after it none shall come to be so. ¹⁵ It covered the eye of all the land, and the land was darkened. And it devoured all the herbage of the land and all the fruit of the trees which the hail had left, so that no green at all was left on the trees nor on the herbage of the field in all the land of Egypt.

¹⁰ For ten acres of vineyard are yielding one bath, and a homer's seed is yielding an ephah."

⁴ The leavings of the larva, the locust eats, and the leavings of the locust, the grub of the beetle eats, and the leavings of the grub, the beetle eats."

³ Before it a fire devours, and behind it is a blaze flaming. As a luxuriant garden is the land before it, yet behind it is a wilderness desolation. And, moreover, a deliverance comes not to it."

²⁵ I will repay to you for the years which the locust devoured, the grub and the beetle and the larva, My great army which I sent among you."

⁹ I smite you with blasting and with green mold. The increase of your gardens and your vineyards and your figs and your olives, the larva of the locust is devouring. Yet you do not return unto Me, (averring is Yahweh)."

¹ Thus my Lord Yahweh shows me:And behold! He is forming the arching caterpillars, at the start of the coming up of the aftergrowth. And behold! the aftergrowth is after the mowings of the king." ² And it comes, when they finish devouring the herbage of the land, then I am saying, My Lord Yahweh, pardon, pray; who shall raise Jacob, for he is small?

¹⁵ You shall sow, yet not reap. You shall tread olives, yet not rub with oil, and grape juice, yet you shall not drink wine."

⁶ You have sown for increase, yet it brings in little. You eat, yet without satisfaction; drink, yet without gratification; are clothed, yet without warmth to it. And the hireling's hire goes into a pierced pouch."
