Deuteronomy 4:25 Cross References - CLV

²⁵ When you beget sons and sons of sons, and find repose in the land and then become corrupt and make a carving, a physical representation of anything, and do evil in the eyes of Yahweh your Elohim so as to provoke Him to vexatio.

⁷ Then Yahweh spoke to Moses: Go! Go down, for your people whom you brought up from the land of Egypt have corrupted themselves.

¹⁶ lest you should bring ruin on yourselves and make for yourselves a carving, a physical representation of any figure, a model of male or female,

¹⁶ Yahweh said to Moses:Behold, you are about to lie with your fathers. Yet this people will rise and prostitute after the elohim of the foreigners of the land where they are entering to be among them; and they will forsake Me and annul My covenant that I contracted with them. ¹⁷ My anger will grow hot against them on that day, and I will forsake them and conceal My face from them; then they will come to be devoured, and many evils and distresses will find them. Then they will say on that day:Is it not because our Elohim is not among us that these evils have found us? ¹⁸ Yet I shall conceal, yea conceal My face from them on that day on account of all the evil which they will have done, for they will have turned around to other elohim.

²⁹ For I know that after my death you shall bring ruin, yea ruin on yourselves; you will withdraw from the way that I enjoined on you, and the evil visitation will befall you in the latter days, for you shall do the thing that is evil in the eyes of Yahweh so as to provoke Him to vexation by the work of your hands.

⁸ And Joshua son of Nun, servant of Yahweh, dies, a son of a hundred and ten years, ⁹ and they bury him in the border of his inheritance, in Timnath-Heres, in the hill-country of Ephraim, on the north of mount Gaash;" ¹⁰ and also all that generation have been gathered unto their fathers, and another generation rises after them who have not known Yahweh, and even the work which He has done to Israel. ¹¹ And the sons of Israel do the evil thing in the eyes of Yahweh, and serve the Baalim, ¹² and forsake Yahweh, Elohim of their fathers, who brings them out from the land of Egypt, and go after other elohims (of the elohims of the peoples who [are] round about them), and bow themselves to them, and provoke Yahweh, ¹³ yea, they forsake Yahweh, and do service to Baal and to Ashtaroth. ¹⁴ And the anger of Yahweh burns against Israel, and He gives them into the hand of spoilers, and they spoil them, and He sells them into the hand of their enemies round about, and they have not been able any more to stand before their enemies;" ¹⁵ in every [place] where they have gone out, the hand of Yahweh has been against them for evil, as Yahweh has spoken, and as Yahweh has sworn to them, and they are distressed--greatly.

¹⁷ and cause their sons and their daughters to pass over through fire, and divine divinations, and use enchantments, and sell themselves to do the evil thing in the eyes of Yahweh, to provoke Him;" ¹⁸ That Yahweh shows himself very angry against Israel, and turns them aside from His presence; none has been left, only the tribe of Judah by itself. ¹⁹ Also Judah has not kept the commands of Yahweh their Elohim, and they walk in the statutes of Israel that they had made.

² and he does the evil thing in the eyes of Yahweh, according to the abominations of the nations that Yahweh dispossessed from the presence of the sons of Israel,

¹⁴ `And I have left the remnant of Mine inheritance, and given them into the hand of their enemies, and they have been for a prey and for a spoil to all their enemies, ¹⁵ because that they have done the evil thing in Mine eyes, and are provoking Me to anger from the day that their fathers came out of Egypt, even unto this day.. ¹⁶ And also, innocent blood has Manasseh shed very much, till that he has filled Jerusalem--mouth to mouth; apart from his sin that he has caused Judah to sin, to do the evil thing in the eyes of Yahweh.

¹² and he does the evil thing in the eyes of Yahweh his Elohim, he has not been humbled before Jeremiah the prophet [speaking] from the mouth of Yahweh;" ¹³ and also, against king Nebuchadnezzar he has rebelled, who had caused him to swear by Elohim, and he hardens his neck, and strengthens his heart, against turning back unto Yahweh, Elohim of Israel. ¹⁴ Also, all the heads of the priests, and the people, having multiplied to commit a trespass according to all the abominations of the nations, and they defile the house of Yahweh that He has sanctified in Jerusalem. ¹⁵ And Yahweh, Elohim of their fathers, sends unto them by the hand of His messengers--rising early and sending--for He has had pity on His people, and on His habitation, ¹⁶ and they are mocking at the messengers of Elohim, and despising His words, and acting deceitfully with His prophets, till the going up of the fury of Yahweh against His people--till there is no healing.

⁹ Deeply they ruin as in the days of Gibeah. He will remember their depravity and will note their sins.

²² Or are we provoking the Lord to jealousy? Not stronger that He are we!
