⁹ Fair I have made him in the multitude of his thin shoots, And envy him do all trees of Eden that [are] in the garden of Elohim."

⁸ And planting is Yahweh Elohim a garden in Eden, in the east, and He is placing there the human whom He forms. ⁹ And furthermore sprouting is Yahweh Elohim from the ground every tree coveted by the sight and good for food, and the tree of the living in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

¹⁰ And lifting is Lot his eyes and is seeing all the basin of the Jordan, for all of it was irrigated before Yahweh wrecked Sodom and Gomorrah, as the garden of Yahweh Elohim, as the land of Egypt as you come to Zoar.

¹⁴ And it is coming at his acquiring flocks and acquiring herds and many to serve, that jealous are the Philistines of him.

¹¹ And jealous are his brothers of him, yet his father keeps the word.

¹⁶ Howbeit, for this sake I keep you standing, in order to make you see My vigor, and that My name may be related in the entire earth.

⁸ `The trees have diligently gone to anoint over them a king, and they say to the olive, Reign you over us. <sup>9</sup> And the olive said to them, Have I ceased from my fatness, by which they honor elohims and men, that I have gone to stagger over the trees? <sup>10</sup> And the trees say to the fig, Come you, reign over us. <sup>11</sup> And the fig said to them, Have I ceased from my sweetness, and my good increase, that I have gone to stagger over the trees? <sup>12</sup> `And the trees say to the vine, Come you, reign over us. ¹³ And the vine said to them, Have I ceased from my new wine, which is rejoicing elohims and men, that I have gone to stagger over the trees? ¹⁴ And all the trees say unto the bramble, Come you, reign over us. ¹⁵ And the bramble said unto the trees, If in truth you are anointing me for king over you, come, take refuge in my shadow; and if not--fire comes out from the bramble, and devours the cedars of Lebanon. ¹⁶ `And, now, if in truth and in sincerity you have acted, when you make Abimelech king; and if you have done good with Jerubbaal, and with his house; and if according to the deed of his hands you have done to him-. ¹⁷ because my father has fought for you, and does cast away his life from [him], and deliver you from the hand of Midian;" ¹⁸ and you have risen against the house of my father to-day, and slay his sons, seventy men, on one stone, and cause Abimelech son of his handmaid to reign over the masters of Shechem, because he [is] your brother-. ¹⁹ yea, if in truth and in sincerity you have acted with Jerubbaal and with his house this day, rejoice you in Abimelech, and he does rejoice--even he--in you;" ²⁰ and if not--fire comes out from Abimelech and devours the masters of Shechem and the house of Millo, and fire comes out from the masters of Shechem and from the house of Millo, and devours Abimelech..

¹⁵ and Saul sees that he is acting very wisely, and is afraid of him,

⁶ For no one from the sun's coming forth or from the west, And no one from the wilderness can exalt a man;" ⁷ For it is Elohim Who is judging; This one He is abasing, and this one He is exalting."

¹² Let the field be joyous, and all that is in it; Then all the trees of the wildwood shall be jubilant" ¹³ Before Yahweh, for He comes; For He comes to judge the earth; He shall judge the habitance in righteousness, And the peoples in His truth."

⁴ Fury is cruel, and anger overwhelming, Yet who can stand before jealousy?

⁴ And I saw all the toil and all the success of the work done, That it was jealousy of one man over his associate; This too is vanity and a grazing on wind."

³ For comforted by Yahweh is Zion, He comforts all her deserted ones. And He will constitute her wilderness as Eden, and her gorge as the garden of Yahweh. Elation and rejoicing shall be found in her, acclamation and the sound of melody."

¹² For with rejoicing shall you go forth, and with welfare shall you be fetched. The mountains and the hills shall crash into jubilation before you, and all the trees of the field shall clap their palms."

¹⁴ And go forth does your name among nations, Because of your beauty--for it [is] complete, In My honor that I have set upon you, An affirmation of the Lord Yahweh."

²² Thus said the Lord Yahweh:I have taken of the foliage of the high cedar, And I have set [it], From the top of its tender shoots a tender one I crop, And I--I have planted [it] on a mountain high and lofty."

²⁴ And known have all trees of the field That I, Yahweh, have made low the high tree, I have set on high the low tree, I have dried up the moist tree, And I have caused the dry tree to flourish, I, Yahweh, have spoken, and have done [it]!'"

¹³ In Eden, the garden of Elohim, you have been, Every precious stone your covering, Ruby, topaz, and diamond, beryl, onyx, and jasper, Sapphire, emerald, and carbuncle, and gold, The workmanship of your tabrets, and of your pipes, In you in the day of your being produced, have been prepared."

¹⁶ From the sound of his fall I have caused nations to shake, In My causing him to go down to sheol, With those going down to the pit, And comforted in the earth--the lower part, are all trees of Eden, The choice and the good of Lebanon, All drinking waters."

¹⁸ Unto whom have you been thus like, In honor and in greatness among the trees of Eden, And you have been brought down with the trees of Eden, Unto the earth--the lower part, In the midst of the uncircumcised you lie, With the pierced of the sword? It [is] Pharaoh, and all his multitude, An affirmation of the Lord Yahweh!'"

²¹ He is altering the eras and the stated times, causing kings to pass away and causing kings to rise, granting wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those knowing understanding."

³⁷ You, O king, are king of kings, seeing that the Eloah of the heavens grants a safeguarded kingdom to you, and might and honor and esteem." ³⁸ In every place where the sons of mortals are abiding, the animal of the field, the flyer of the heavens, and the fish of the sea, He grants into your hand. He gives you authority over them all. You are the head that is gold."

²² you it is, O king, seeing that you are increased and mighty, and your grandeur is increased, and reaches to the heavens, and your authority to the extremity of the earth." ²³ And seeing that the king perceived a holy rouser alighting from the heavens and saying, `Slash down the oak and harm it, but the stump with its roots leave in the earth clamped with a band of iron and copper; in the verdure of the field with the night mist of the heavens shall he be streaked; with the animals of the field shall be his portion till seven seasons shall pass on over him'--" ²⁴ This is its interpretation, O king:It is a sentence of severance, inflicted by the Supreme, that reaches to my lord, the king;" ²⁵ for they shall shove you from mortals, and with the animals of the field is to be your abode, and herbage will they feed to you, as oxen, and with the night mist of the heavens will you be streaked; thus seven seasons shall pass on over you till you shall know that the Supreme is in authority in the kingdom of mortals, and that to whom He is willing He is giving it."

²⁰ Yet when his heart was exalted and his spirit was mightily arrogant, he was deposed from the throne of his kingdom and they caused his esteem to pass away from him:" ²¹ From the sons of mortals was he shoved, his heart was made equal to an animal's and with the wild donkeys was his abode. Herbage are they feeding to him, as oxen, and by the night mist of the heavens was his frame streaked, till he knew that the Supreme Eloah is in authority in the kingdom of mortals, and whom He is willing is He setting up over it." ²² Yet you, his grandson Belshazzar, you abase not your heart in Eloah's sight, forasmuch as all this you know." ²³ Over the Lord, the Eloah of the heavens, you exalt yourself; the vessels of His house they bring hither before you; you and your grandees, your consorts and your concubines are drinking turbid wine from them. Also elohim of silver, gold, copper, iron, wood, and stone who are not perceiving and not hearing and not knowing, these you laud, yet the Eloah in Whose hand is your breath, and for Whom are all your paths, Him you do not honor."

² Howl, fir tree, for the cedar falls, when the noble ones are devastated. Howl, oaks of Bashan, for the defended wildwood comes down."

⁵ Or are you supposing that the scripture is saying this for naught? Is the spirit which dwells in us longing to envy? ⁶ Yet greater is the grace He is giving. Wherefore He is saying, God "the proud is resisting, yet to the humble He is giving grace."
