² `Son of man, prophesy concerning shepherds of Israel, prophesy, and you have said unto them:To the shepherds, thus said the Lord Yahweh:Woe [to] the shepherds of Israel, Who have been feeding themselves! The flock do not the shepherds feed?

² also heretofore, in Saul's being king over us, you have been he who is bringing out and bringing in Israel, and Yahweh said to you, You do feed My people Israel, and you are for leader over Israel..

⁷¹ From following the ewes, He brought him To shepherd Jacob, His people, And Israel, His allotment." ⁷² So he shepherded them in the integrity of his heart, And by the understanding of his palms, he guided them."

¹¹ As a shepherd He is grazing His drove, and in His arm He is cuddling the lambkins, and in His bosom He is carrying them. The pregnant He is comforting. The unweaned He is conducting."

⁸ The priests have not said, `Where [is] Yahweh?' And those handling the law have not known Me. And the shepherds transgressed against Me, And the prophets have prophesied by Baal, And after those who profit not have gone."

¹⁵ And I have given to you shepherds According to Mine own heart, And they have fed you with knowledge and understanding."

²¹ For the shepherds have become brutish, And Yahweh they have not sought, Therefore they have not acted wisely, And all their flock is scattered."

¹⁰ Many shepherds did destroy My vineyard, They have trodden down My portion, They have made My desirable portion Become a wilderness--a desolation."

¹ Woe to shepherds destroying, And scattering the flock of My pasture, An affirmation of Yahweh."

¹⁹ Yea, you pierce Me concerning My people, For handfuls of barley, And for pieces of bread, to put to death Souls that should not die, And to keep alive souls that should not live, By your lying to My people--hearkening to lies."

²⁴ `Son of man, the inhabitants of these wastes on the ground of Israel are speaking, saying:Alone has been Abraham--and he possesses the land, and we [are] many--to us has the land been given for a possession."

⁸ I live--an affirmation of the Lord Yahweh, If not, because of My flock being for a prey, Yea, My flock is for food to every beast of the field, Because there is no shepherd, And My shepherds have not sought My flock, And the shepherds do feed themselves, And My flock they have not fed." ⁹ Therefore, O shepherds, hear a word of Yahweh:" ¹⁰ Thus said the Lord Yahweh:Lo, I [am] against the shepherds, And have required My flock from their hand, And caused them to cease from feeding the flock, And no more do the shepherds feed themselves, And I have delivered My flock from their mouth, And they are not to them for food."

¹ And He is saying, Oh hear this! you heads of the house of Jacob, and captains of the house of Israel, is it not yours to know judgment? ² You who are hating good and loving evil, snatching their skin off them, and their meat off their bones, ³ and who devour the meat of My people, and their skin they strip off them, and their bones they crunch, and spread them, as meat in the pot, and as flesh in the midst of the caldron."

¹¹ her heads are judging for a bribe, and her priests are directing for a price, and her prophets are divining for money, and on Yahweh they are leaning, saying:Is not Yahweh within us? Evil shall not come on us." ¹² Wherefore, due to you, Zion shall be plowed as a field, and Jerusalem shall become rubbish heaps, and the mountain of the house fane heights of a wildwood."

³ Her chiefs within her are roaring lions; her judges are evening wolves; they pick clean, leaving nothing for the morning." ⁴ Her prophets are ebullient, treacherous mortals; her priests profane the holy place; they wrong the law."

¹⁷ Woe! forbidden idol's shepherd! forsaker of the flock! A sword is on his arm and on his right eye! His arm shall be dried dry, and his right eye shall be dimmed dim."

⁴⁸ Now if that evil slave should be saying in his heart, 'Delaying is my lord,'" ⁴⁹ and should begin to beat his fellow slaves, yet may be eating and drinking with the drunken, ⁵⁰ the lord of that slave will be arriving on a day for which he is not hoping, and in an hour which he knows not, ⁵¹ and shall be cutting him asunder, and will be appointing his part with the hypocrites. There shall be lamentation and gnashing of teeth."

⁴² And the Lord said, "Who, consequently, is the faithful and prudent administrator, whom the lord will be placing over his attendance, to be giving them the measure of grain in season.? ⁴³ Happy is that slave, whom his lord, coming, will be finding doing thus." ⁴⁴ Truly, I am saying to you that over all his possessions will he be placing him." ⁴⁵ Now if that slave should be saying in his heart, 'My lord is delaying his coming,' and should be beginning both to beat the boys and the maids and to be eating and drinking and to be drunk, ⁴⁶ the lord of that slave will be arriving on a day for which he is not hoping and at an hour which he does not know, and shall be cutting him asunder and shall be appointing his part with the unfaithful."

⁴⁶ Take heed of the scribes, who are wanting to walk in robes, and are fond of salutations in the markets and front seats in the synagogues and first reclining places at the dinners, ⁴⁷ who are devouring the homes of widows and, for a pretense, are prolix in praying. These will be getting more excessive judgment."

¹ Verily, verily, I am saying to you, he who is not entering through the door into the fold of the sheep, but is climbing up elsewhere, that one is a thief and a robber." ² Now he who is entering through the door is the shepherd of the sheep.

¹¹ I am the Shepherd ideal. The ideal shepherd is laying down his soul for the sake of the sheep. ¹² Yet the hireling, not also being shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, is beholding the wolf coming, and is leaving the sheep and fleeing. And the wolf is snatching them and is scattering the sheep."

¹⁵ When, then, they lunch, Jesus is saying to Simon Peter, "Simon of John, are you loving Me more than these?He is saying to Him, "Yes, Lord, Thou art aware that I am fond of Thee!He is saying to him, "Graze My lambkins!" ¹⁶ He is saying to him again a second time, "Simon of John, are you loving Me?He is saying to Him, "Yes, Lord, Thou art aware that I am fond of Thee!He is saying to him, "Shepherd My sheep!" ¹⁷ He is saying to him the third time, "Simon of John, are you fond of Me?Peter was sorry that He said to him the third time "Are you fond of Me?and he is saying to Him, "Lord, Thou art aware of all things! Thou knowest that I am fond of Thee.And Jesus is saying to him, "Graze My little sheep!"

²⁶ Wherefore I am attesting to you in this very day that I am clear from the blood of all,

²⁹ Now I am aware that, after I am out of reach, burdensome wolves will be entering among you, not sparing the flocklet."

¹⁸ for such for our Lord Christ are not slaving, but for their own bowels, and through compliments and adulation are deluding the hearts of the innocent."

² Shepherd the flocklet of God among you, supervising, not of compulsion, but voluntarily, according to God; nor yet avariciously, but eagerly;" ³ nor yet as lording it over the allotments, but becoming models for the flocklet, ⁴ and, when the Chief Shepherd is manifested, you shall be requited with an unfading wreath of glory."

³ and in greed, with suave words, they will traffic in you, whose judgment of old is not idling, and their destruction is not nodding."
