¹ And dwelling is Jacob in the land of his father's sojournings, in the land of Canaan. ² These are the genealogical annals of Jacob. Joseph, seventeen years of age, comes to be grazing the flock with his brothers, and he, the lad, is with the sons of Bilhah and the sons of Zilpah, wives of his father. And bringing is Joseph their evil mutterings to Israel, their father. ³ And Israel loves Joseph more than any other of his sons, for a son of his old age is he, to him. And he makes for him a distinctive tunic. ⁴ And seeing are his brothers that their father loves him more than any other of his sons. And hating him are they and cannot speak peaceably to him. ⁵ And dreaming is Joseph a dream. And telling it is he to his brothers. And continuing further are they in their hatred of him. ⁶ And saying is he to them, "Hear, pray, this dream which I dreamed. ⁷ And, behold! We are compressing shocks in the midst of the field. And behold! Rising is my shock, and, moreover, takes its station. And, behold! Surrounding it are your shocks, and prostrating to my shock!" ⁸ And saying to him are his brothers, "Verily reign over us shall you? And should you verily rule among us?And continuing further are they to hate him on account of his dreams, and on account of his words. ⁹ And dreaming is he still another dream. And relating is he it to his father and to his brothers, and is saying, "Behold! I dream a further dream. And behold! The sun and the moon and the eleven stars are prostrating to me. ¹⁰ And relating it is he to his father and to his brothers. And rebuking him is his father, and saying to him, "What dream is this which you dream? Shall I and your mother and your brothers come, yea, come to prostrate to you to the earth? ¹¹ And jealous are his brothers of him, yet his father keeps the word. ¹² And going are his brothers to graze their father's flock in Shechem. ¹³ And saying is Israel to Joseph, "Are not your brothers grazing in Shechem? Go. Send you will I to them.And saying is he to him, "Behold me!" ¹⁴ And saying to him is Israel, "Go, pray, and see if it is well with your brothers, and well with the flock, and return me word.And sending him is he from the vale of Hebron. And coming is he to Shechem. ¹⁵ And finding him is a man, and, behold! Straying is he in the field. And asking him is the man saying, "What are you seeking? ¹⁶ And saying is he, "My brothers am I seeking. Tell me, pray, whereat they are grazing. ¹⁷ And saying is the man, "They journeyed hence, for I heard them saying, `Go will we to Doesan..And going is Joseph after his brothers, and is finding them in Doesan. <sup>18</sup> And seeing him are they from afar, and ere he is coming near to them. And plotting are they against him among themselves to put him to death. <sup>19</sup> And saying is each man to his brother, "Behold! This possessor of dreams is coming!" <sup>20</sup> And now go, and we will kill him and fling him into one of the cisterns and say, `An evil animal devoured him,' and see will we what will become of his dreams. ²¹ And hearing of it is Reuben, and rescuing him is he out of their hands. And saying is he, "Not smite will we his soul. ²² And saying to them is Reuben, "You must not shed blood. Fling him into this cistern which is in the wilderness, yet a hand you, you must not stretch out against him,--that he may rescue him from their hands, to restore him to his father. ²³ And coming is it, as Joseph comes to his brothers, that they are stripping Joseph of his tunic, the distinctive tunic which is on him. ²⁴ And taking him are they, and flinging him into the cistern. Yet the cistern was empty. No water was in it. ²⁵ And sitting down are they to eat bread. And lifting are they their eyes and seeing, and behold! A caravan of Ishmaelites are coming from Gilead with their camels, bearing perfume and balm and labdanum, going by to go down to Egypt. ²⁶ And saying is Judah to his brothers, "What gain is it that we kill our brother and cover his blood? ²⁷ Go, and we will sell him to the Ishmaelites, and our hand must not come to be against him, for our brother and our flesh is he.And hearkening are his brothers. ²⁸ And passing are mortals, Midianites, merchants. And drawing are they and bringing up Joseph from the cistern, and are selling Joseph to the Ishmaelites for twenty silverlings. And bringing are they Joseph to Egypt. ²⁹ And returning is Reuben to the cistern, and behold! No Joseph is in the cistern. And tearing is he his garments. ³⁰ And returning is he to his brothers and is saying, "The boy! There is no one! And I! Whither can I come? ³¹ And taking are they Joseph's tunic, and slaying a hairy one of the goats, and dipping the tunic in the blood. ³² And sending are they the distinctive tunic, and they are bringing it to their father. And saying are they, "This we found. Pray identify the tunic, if it is not your son's. ³³ And identifying it is he and saying, "The tunic of my son! An evil animal has devoured him! Joseph is torn to pieces, yea, to pieces!" ³⁴ And tearing is Jacob his garments, and is placing sackcloth on his waist, and is mourning over his son many days. ³⁵ And rising are all his sons and all his daughters and they come to console him, yet refusing is he to be consoled and is saying that, "Descend will I to my son, to the unseen, mourning.And lamenting over him is his father. ³⁶ And the Midianites sell Joseph to Egypt, to Potiphar, a eunuch of Pharaoh, chief of the executioners.

⁸ And I give to you and to your seed after you the land of your sojournings, all the land of Canaan, for a holding eonian. And I become their Elohim.

⁴ A sojourner and a settler am I with you. Give me a holding for a tomb with you, and I will entomb my dead from my face.

⁴ And give to you will he the blessing of Abraham, my father, to you and to your seed with you, for you to tenant the land of your sojournings, given by the Elohim to Abraham.

⁷ for it comes that they get more than may dwell together, and the land of their sojourning cannot bear them, in view of the multitude of their cattle.

⁹ By faith he sojourns in the land of promise as in an alien land, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the joint enjoyers of the allotment of the same promise. " ¹⁰ For he waited for the city having foundations, whose Artificer and Architect is God. " ¹¹ By faith Sarah herself also obtained power for the disruption of seed, and brought forth beyond the period of her prime, since she deems the Promiser faithful;" ¹² wherefore, also, were begotten by one, and these of one who is deadened, according as the constellations of heaven in multitude, and as the sand beside the sea shore innumerable." ¹³ In faith died all these, not being requited with the promises, but perceiving them ahead and saluting them, and avowing that they are strangers and expatriates on the earth. " ¹⁴ For those who are saying such things are disclosing that they are seeking for a country of their own. ¹⁵ And, if, indeed, they remembered that from which they came out, they might have had occasion to go back." ¹⁶ Yet now they are craving a better, that is, a celestial; wherefore God is not ashamed of them, to be invoked as their God, for He makes ready for them a city."

⁴ These are the genealogical annals of the heavens and the earth, when they were created. In the day Yahweh Elohim made the earth and the heavens,

¹ This is the scroll of the genealogical annals of Adam: In the day the Elohim created Adam, in the likeness of the Elohim He made him.

⁹ These are the genealogical annals of Noah: Noah is a just man. Flawless became he in his generations. With the Elohim walks Noah.

¹ And these are the genealogical annals of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth. And sons are being born to them after the deluge.

⁴ And giving him is she Bilhah, her maid, for a wife. And coming is Jacob to her.

⁹ And seeing is Leah that she stays from bearing. And taking is she Zilpah, her maid, and is giving her to Jacob for a wife. And coming is Jacob to her,

²² And coming is it, when Israel tabernacles in that land, that going is Reuben and lying with Bilhah, his father's concubine. And hearing of it is Israel, and evil appears it in his eyes.

²⁵ and the sons of Bilhah, Rachel's maid, Dan, and Naphtali;" ²⁶ and the sons of Zilpah, Leah's maid, Gad, and Ashur. These are the sons of Jacob, who are born to him in Padan, Syria.

²² And Eli [is] very old, and has heard all that his sons do to all Israel, and how that they lie with the women who are assembling [at] the opening of the tent of meeting, ²³ and he said to them, `Why do you things like these? for I am hearing of your evil words from all the people--these!" ²⁴ Nay, my sons; for the report which I am hearing is not good causing the people of Yahweh to transgress. -.

⁷ The world can not be hating you, yet Me it is hating, for I am testifying concerning it that its acts are wicked."

¹¹ For it was made evident to me concerning you, my brethren, by those of Chloe, that there are strifes among you."

¹ Absolutely, it is heard that there is prostitution among you, and such prostitution (which is not even named among the nations), so that someone has his father's wife."

¹⁸ For first, indeed, at your coming together in the ecclesia, I am hearing of schisms inhering among you, and some part I am believing."

²³ And coming is it, as Joseph comes to his brothers, that they are stripping Joseph of his tunic, the distinctive tunic which is on him.

³² And sending are they the distinctive tunic, and they are bringing it to their father. And saying are they, "This we found. Pray identify the tunic, if it is not your son's.

²⁰ And said we to my lord, `Forsooth, we have a father, old, and a boy of his old age, the small and his brother is dead, and left is he alone of his mother, and his father loves him. <sup>21</sup> And said you to your servants, `Bring him down to me that I may place my eyes upon him.. ²² And said we to my lord, "The youth cannot leave his father. And, leaves he his father, he also will die.. ²³ Yet you said to your servants, `Should not your small brother come down with you, you shall not continue to see my face.. <sup>24</sup> And coming is it that we went up to your servant, our father, and we told him the words of my lord. <sup>25</sup> And saying is our father, `Return. Purchase for us a little food.. ²⁶ And said we, `We cannot go down. Should, forsooth, our small brother go down with us, then we will go down, for we cannot see the man's face if our small brother is not with us.. <sup>27</sup> And saying is your servant, our father, to us, `You know that two were borne for me by my wife. ²⁸ And forth is one faring from me. And saying am I, "Yea, as prey is he torn to pieces!"And not seen him have I hitherto. ²⁹ And take this one, moreover, from before my face, and a mishap befalls him on the way, down will you bring my gray hairs by evil to the unseen.. ³⁰ And now, as I come to your servant, our father, and the youth is not with us, when his soul is tied to his soul,

³⁰ Do they not find? --they apportion spoil, A female--two females--for every head, Spoil of finger-work for Sisera, Spoil of embroidered finger-work, Finger-work--a pair of embroidered things, For the necks of the spoil!"

¹⁸ --and upon her [is] a long coat, for such upper robes do daughters of the king who [are] virgins put on, --and his servant takes her out without, and has bolted the door after her.

¹³ All glorious is the royal daughter while inside; Her clothing is with mountings of gold; ¹⁴ In embroidered robes she is fetched to the King; The virgins, her associates, are behind her, being brought to her."

¹⁶ And you do take of your garments, And do make to you spotted high-places, And do go a-whoring upon them, They are not coming in--nor shall it be!"

³⁵ The Father is loving the Son and has given all into His hand."

²² The disciples, then, looked at one another, being perplexed concerning whom He is speaking." ²³ Now one of His disciples, whom Jesus loved, was lying back in the bosom of Jesus."

⁵ yet to Cain and to his present offering He does not give heed. And hot is Cain's anger exceedingly, and falling is his face.

⁴¹ And a grudge is Esau holding against Jacob on account of the blessing with which his father blesses him. And saying is Esau in his heart, "Approaching are the days of mourning for my father, when I will kill Jacob, my brother.

⁵ And dreaming is Joseph a dream. And telling it is he to his brothers. And continuing further are they in their hatred of him.

²³ and bitter were they with him, and contended and begrudging him were the archers,

¹² And he sends, and brings him in, and he [is] ruddy, with beauty of eyes, and of good appearance; and Yahweh said, `Rise, anoint him, for this [is] he.. ¹³ And Samuel takes the horn of oil, and anoints him in the midst of his brethren, and prosper over David does the Spirit of Yahweh from that day and onwards; and Samuel rises and goes to Ramath.

²⁸ And Eliab, his eldest brother, hears when he speaks unto the men, and the anger of Eliab burns against David, and he said, `Why [is] this--you have come down! and to whom have you left those few sheep in the wilderness? I have known your pride, and the evil of your heart--for, to see the battle you have come down..

¹⁹ Yet those who are my enemies gratuitously, are plentiful, And those hating me falsely have multiplied."

⁴ Multiplied more than the hairs of my head are those hating me gratuitously; Plentiful are those seeking to efface me, my enemies, dealing falsely. Must I restore then what I have not pillaged?

³ His brothers, then, said to Him, "Proceed hence and go away into Judea, that your disciples also should be beholding your works which you are doing." ⁴ For no one is doing anything in hiding when he is seeking publicity. If you are doing these things, manifest yourself to the world." ⁵ For not even His brothers believed in Him.

¹⁸ If the world is hating you, know that it has hated Me first before you." ¹⁹ If you were of the world, the world would be fond of its own. Now, seeing that you are not of the world, but I choose you out of the world, therefore the world is hating you."

³ For we also were once foolish, stubborn, deceived, slaves of various desires and gratifications, leading a life in malice and envy, detestable, hating one another."

¹¹ Yet he who is hating his brother is in darkness and in darkness is walking, and is not aware whither he is going, for the darkness blinds his eyes."

¹⁰ In this are apparent the children of God and the children of the Adversary: everyone who is not doing righteousness is not of God, and who is not loving his brother."

¹² that we may be loving one another, not according as Cain was of the wicked one and slays his brother. And on behalf of what does he slay him? Seeing that his acts were wicked, yet those of his brother, just."

²⁰ If anyone should be saying that "I am loving God,and should be hating his brother, he is a liar; for he who is not loving his brother whom he has seen can not be loving God Whom he has not seen."

¹² And dreaming is he, and behold! A stairway set up earthward, with its head touching the heavens. And behold! Messengers of the Elohim are ascending and descending on it.

⁴ And seeing are his brothers that their father loves him more than any other of his sons. And hating him are they and cannot speak peaceably to him.

⁸ And saying to him are his brothers, "Verily reign over us shall you? And should you verily rule among us?And continuing further are they to hate him on account of his dreams, and on account of his words.

⁵ And dreaming are both a dream. Each man has his dream in the same night, each man according to the interpretation of his dream, the chief cupbearer and the chief baker, who are the king of Egypt's who are bound in the round-house.

¹ And coming is it at the end of two years to a day that Pharaoh dreams and, behold! Standing is he at the waterway.

⁹ And remembering is Joseph the dreams which he dreamed concerning them. And saying is he to them, "Spies are you. To see the nakedness of the land you come.

⁶ He said:Oh hear My words. If there were a prophet among you, I, Yahweh, in an appearance shall make Myself known to him; in a dream shall I speak to him.

¹³ And Gideon comes in, and lo, a man is recounting to his companion a dream, and said, `Lo, a dream I have dreamed, and lo, a cake of barley-bread is turning itself over into the camp of Midian, and it comes in unto the tent, and smites it, and it falls, and turns it upwards, and the tent has fallen.. <sup>14</sup> And his companion answers and said, `This is nothing save the sword of Gideon son of Joash, a man of Israel; Elohim has given into his hand Midian and all the camp..

⁵ In Gibeon has Yahweh appeared unto Solomon, in a dream of the night, and Elohim said, `Ask--what do I give to you?.

¹⁴ The intimacy of Yahweh is for those fearing Him, And His covenant, to give them knowledge."

¹ In the second year of Nebuchadnezzar's kingdom, Nebuchadnezzar dreams dreams; agitated is his spirit and his sleep is fleeing from him."

⁵ A dream I perceived and it is terrifying me, and portents on my bed, even the visions of my head are flustering me."

²⁸ And it comes afterward, I shall pour out My spirit on all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your elders shall dream dreams, your chosen ones shall see visions."

⁷ For my Lord Yahweh is not doing a thing save He reveals His deliberation to His servants, the prophets."

¹⁴ I have given them Thy word. And the world hates them, for they are not of the world, according as I am not of the world."

¹⁸ And close is Judah coming to him and saying, "O! my lord, Pray, speak will your servant a word in the ears of my lord, and your anger must not be hot against your servant, seeing that such a one as you are as Pharaoh.

⁷ and they declare [it] to Jotham, and he goes and stands on the top of mount Gerizim, and lifts up his voice, and calls, and said to them, `Hearken unto me, O masters of Shechem, and Elohim does hearken unto you.

⁶ And Joseph, he has authority over the land. He is the retailer to all the people of the land. And coming are the brothers of Joseph and prostrating to him, nostrils to the earth.

²⁶ And coming home is Joseph, and bringing are they the present offering which is in their hand to the house to him, and prostrating are they to him with their nostrils to the earth.

¹⁴ And coming are Judah and his brothers to Joseph's house, and he is still there. And falling are they before him to the earth.

¹⁹ My lord asked his servants saying, "Forsooth, have you a father or a brother?.

¹⁰ that in the name of Jesus every knee should be bowing, celestial and terrestrial and subterranean,

¹⁸ And He is the Head of the body, the ecclesia, Who is Sovereign, Firstborn from among the dead, that in all He may be becoming first,

²⁶ blessings of your father and your mother. Master are they over the blessings of my mountains, unto the yearning of the eonian hills, coming are they on the head of Joseph, and on the crown of the governor of his brothers.

¹⁴ Yet he said: Who appointed you as foreman and judge over us? Are you meaning to kill me just as you killed the Egyptian? Then Moses became fearful and said: Surely the matter is known.

²⁷ and the sons of worthlessness have said, `What! this one does save us!' and they despise him, and have not brought to him a present; and he is as one deaf.

³ Let us pull away their bonds, And let us fling off their ropes from us. ⁴ The One sitting in the heavens, He shall ridicule; Yahweh, He shall deride them. ⁵ Then He shall speak to them in His anger, And in His hot anger He shall fill them with panic, saying, ⁶ I will pour a libation on My King, On Zion, My holy mountain.

²² The stone which the builders rejected, It came to be for the head of the corner."

¹⁴ Now his citizens hated him, and they dispatch an embassy after him, saying, 'We do not want this man to reign over us!'"

¹⁷ Yet He, looking at them, said, "What, then, is this that is written, 'The stone which is rejected by the builders, This came to be for the head of the corner'?

²⁷ For of a truth, in this city were gathered against Thy holy Boy Jesus, Whom Thou dost anoint, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, together with the nations and the peoples of Israel, ²⁸ to do whatever Thy hand and Thy counsel designates beforehand to occur.

³⁵ This Moses, whom they disown, saying, 'Who constitutes you a chief and a justice over us?' this one has God commissioned to be a chief as well as a redeemer, a justice, with the hand of the messenger who was seen by him in the thorn bush."

²⁹ Of how much worse punishment, are you supposing, will he be counted worthy who tramples on the Son of God, and deems the blood of the covenant by which he is hallowed contaminating, and outrages the spirit of grace?

⁷ And, behold! We are compressing shocks in the midst of the field. And behold! Rising is my shock, and, moreover, takes its station. And, behold! Surrounding it are your shocks, and prostrating to my shock!"

¹⁰ And relating it is he to his father and to his brothers. And rebuking him is his father, and saying to him, "What dream is this which you dream? Shall I and your mother and your brothers come, yea, come to prostrate to you to the earth?

²⁵ And saying is Joseph to Pharaoh, "The dream of Pharaoh, one is it. What the Elohim will be doing He tells to Pharaoh.

³² And on account of the repetition of the dream to Pharaoh twice, it is that the matter is established with the Elohim. And the Elohim will hasten His doing of it.

²⁸ And saying are they, "Well fares your servant, our father. Still living is he.And he said, "Blessed be that man by the Elohim!"And bowing are they the head and prostrating to him.

⁹ Hasten and go up to my father, and say to him, `Thus says your son Joseph, "The Elohim has constituted me lord of all the land of Egypt. Come down to me. You must not stay there.

²⁹ And hitching up is Joseph his chariot and is going up to Goshen to meet Israel, his father, and is appearing to him. And falling is he on his neck. And weeping is he longer on his neck.

¹² And sustaining is Joseph his father and his brothers and all his father's household. And there is bread for the mouths of the tots.

¹⁵ And seeing are Joseph's brothers that their father is dead, and saying are they, "What if Joseph is holding a grudge against us and is reversing, yea reversing to us all the evil with which we requited him? ¹⁶ And instructions are they giving to Joseph, saying, "Your father gave instructions before his death, saying, ¹⁷ `Thus are you saying to Joseph: Oh, bear, pray, with the transgression of your brothers and their sin, that with evil they requited you.' And now, pray, bear with the transgression of the servants of the Elohim of your father.And lamenting is Joseph as they speak to him. ¹⁸ And going are his brothers, moreover, and falling before him. And saying are they, "Behold us yours for servants. ¹⁹ And saying to them is Joseph, "You must not fear, for under Elohim am I. ²⁰ And you, you devised against me evil, yet the Elohim devises it for me for good, that it may work out as at this day, to preserve alive many people. ²¹ And now, you must not fear. I'll sustain you and your tots.And comforting them is he, and speaking to their hearts.

¹⁰ He is growing great unto the host of the heavens, and cast to the earth is one from the host, and one from the stars who is also tramping on them."

⁹ And the patriarchs, being jealous of Joseph, gave him up into Egypt. And God was with him, ¹⁰ and extricates him out of all his afflictions, and gives him favor and wisdom in front of Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and constitutes him governor over Egypt and over his whole house." ¹¹ Now a famine came on the whole of Egypt and Canaan, and the affliction was great, and our fathers found no provender." ¹² Now Jacob, hearing that there are stores of grain in Egypt, delegates our fathers first." ¹³ And in the second time Joseph is made re-known to his brethren, and Joseph's race became apparent to Pharaoh." ¹⁴ Now Joseph, dispatching them, calls for Jacob, his father, and the entire relationship among seventy-five souls."

¹⁵ that you may become blameless and artless, children of God, flawless, in the midst of a generation crooked and perverse among whom you are appearing as luminaries in the world,

²⁹ Serve you shall peoples, and down shall bow to you the folkstems. Master be you over your brothers, and down to you shall bow the sons of your mother, One cursing you is accursed. And one blessing you is blessed!"

¹⁴ And go to you to prostrate shall all the sons of your humiliators, and worship at the soles of your feet shall all your spurners. And they call you the city of Yahweh, Zion of the Holy One of Israel."

¹⁰ that in the name of Jesus every knee should be bowing, celestial and terrestrial and subterranean, ¹¹ and every tongue should be acclaiming that Jesus Christ is Lord, for the glory of God, the Father."

³¹ And saying is he to him, "Come, blessed of Yahweh! Why are you standing outside when I have prepared a surface in the house and a place for the camels?

¹⁴ And it is coming at his acquiring flocks and acquiring herds and many to serve, that jealous are the Philistines of him. ¹⁵ And all the wells which his father's servants had delved in the days of Abraham, his father, the Philistines stop them up, and are filling them with soil. ¹⁶ And saying is Abimelech to Isaac, "Go from our people, for you are very much stauncher than we.

¹⁶ They grew jealous of Moses in the camp, And of Aaron, the holy one of Yahweh."

⁴ And I saw all the toil and all the success of the work done, That it was jealousy of one man over his associate; This too is vanity and a grazing on wind."

¹³ And He will withdraw the jealousy of Ephraim, and the distressers of Judah shall be cut off. Ephraim will not be jealous of Judah, and Judah will not distress Ephraim."

¹¹ Yahweh, Your exalted hand they will fail to perceive. Yet they shall perceive and be shamed by the zeal of the disciplined people. Indeed, the fire of Your foes will devour them."

²⁸ Furthermore, as this is the termination of the matter, I, Daniel--my ruminations are greatly flustering me, my aspect is altering on me, and I leave the matter in the custody of my heart."

¹⁸ For he was aware that it was because of envy they give Him up.

¹⁰ For he recognized that because of envy the chief priests had given Him up.

¹⁹ Now Miriam preserved all these declarations, parleying them in her heart."

⁵¹ And He descended with them and came into Nazareth, and was subject to them. And His mother carefully kept all these declarations, parleying them in her own heart."

⁹ And the patriarchs, being jealous of Joseph, gave him up into Egypt. And God was with him,

⁴⁵ Yet the Jews, perceiving the throngs, are filled with jealousy, and they contradicted the things spoken by Paul, blaspheming."

²¹ envies, murders, drunkennesses, revelries, and the like of these, which, I am predicting to you, according as I predicted also, that those committing such things shall not be enjoying the allotment of the kingdom of God."

¹⁴ Now if you are having bitter jealousy and faction in your heart, are you not vaunting against and falsifying the truth? ¹⁵ This is not the wisdom coming down from above, but terrestrial, soulish, demoniacal. " ¹⁶ For wherever jealousy and faction are, there is turbulence also, and every bad practice."

⁵ Or are you supposing that the scripture is saying this for naught? Is the spirit which dwells in us longing to envy?

¹⁸ And coming is Jacob in peace to the city of Shechem, which is in the land of Canaan, at his coming from Padan, Syria. And camping is he before the city.

¹ And dwelling is Jacob in the land of his father's sojournings, in the land of Canaan.

¹ Now, morning coming on, all the chief priests and the elders of the people held a consultation against Jesus, so as to put Him to death."

⁷ Yet those farmers say to themselves that 'This is the enjoyer of the allotment. Hither! We should be killing him, and the enjoyment of the allotment will be ours!'"

¹ Now it was the Passover and the unleavened bread after two days. And the chief priests and the scribes sought how, laying hold of Him by guile, they should be killing Him."

¹⁴ Now on perceiving him, the farmers reasoned with one another, saying, 'This is the enjoyer of the allotment. Hither! We should be killing him, that the enjoyer of the allotment may become ours.'" ¹⁵ And, casting him outside of the vineyard, they kill him. What, then, will the lord of the vineyard be doing to them?

⁵³ From that day, then, they consult that they should kill Him."

¹² Now, day coming on, making a conspiracy, the Jews anathematize themselves, saying that they would neither eat nor drink till they should kill Paul."

²⁰ `And, now, lo, I have known that you do certainly reign, and the kingdom of Israel has stood in your hand;"

¹⁶ For their feet run to evil, And they hasten to shed blood."

¹⁷ Exalted eyes, a false tongue, And hands shedding innocent blood;"

¹⁸ He who covers up hatred has false lips, And he who brings forth gossip, he is stupid."

⁴ Fury is cruel, and anger overwhelming, Yet who can stand before jealousy?

¹³ He who covers his transgressions shall not prosper, Yet he who confesses and forsakes them shall receive compassion."

² saying, "Where is He Who is brought forth King of the Jews? For we perceived His star in the East, and we came to worship Him." ³ Now, hearing of it, King Herod was disturbed, and all Jerusalem with him. ⁴ And, gathering all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he ascertained from them where the Christ is born. ⁵ Now they say to him, "In Bethlehem of Judea, for thus it is written through the prophet: ⁶ 'And you, Bethlehem, land of Judah,
Are you in any respect least among the mentors of Judah?
For out of you shall come forth the Ruler
Who shall shepherd My people Israel.'" ⁷ Then Herod, covertly calling the magi, ascertains exactly from them the time of the star's appearing. ⁸ And, sending them into Bethlehem, he said, "Having gone, inquire accurately concerning the little Boy. Now if ever you may be finding Him, report to me, so that I also, coming, should be worshiping Him." ⁹ Now those who hear the king went, and lo! the star which they perceived in the East preceded them till, coming, it was standing over where the little Boy was. ¹⁰ Now, perceiving the star, they rejoiced with great joy, tremendously. ¹¹ And, coming into the house, they perceived the little Boy with Mary, His mother, and, falling, they worship Him. And opening their treasures, they bring Him approach presents, gold and frankincense and myrrh. ¹² And, being apprised in a trance not to go back to Herod, through another way they retire into their country. ¹³ Now, at their retiring into their country, lo! a messenger of the Lord is appearing in a trance to Joseph, saying, "Being roused, take along the little Boy and His mother and flee into Egypt, and be there till I should speak to you, for Herod is about to be seeking the little Boy to destroy Him" ¹⁴ Now he, being roused, took along the little Boy and His mother by night and retires into Egypt. ¹⁵ And He was there till the decease of Herod, that that may be fulfilled which is declared by the Lord through the prophet, saying, "Out of Egypt I call My Son." ¹⁶ Then Herod, perceiving that he was scoffed at by the magi, was very furious, and, dispatching, he massacred all the boys in Bethlehem and in all its boundaries, from two years and below, according to the time which he ascertains exactly from the magi.

⁴⁰ and saying, "You who are demolishing the temple and building it in three days, save yourself! If you are the Son of God, descend from the cross!" ⁴¹ Likewise the chief priests also, with the scribes and elders, scoffing, said, ⁴² Others he saves! Himself he can not save! If he is king of Israel, let him descend now from the cross, and we will believe on him!"

²⁹ And those going by blasphemed Him, wagging their heads and saying, "Aha! You who are demolishing the temple and building it in three days, ³⁰ save yourself by descending from the cross!" ³¹ Likewise, the chief priests also, with the scribes, scoffing with one another, said, "Others he saves! Himself he can not save!" ³² Let the Christ, the king of Israel, descend now from the cross, that we may be perceiving and should be believing!And those crucified together with Him reproached Him."

¹² If I told you of the terrestrial and you are not believing, how shall you be believing if I should be telling you of the celestial?

¹⁰ Yet the chief priests also plan that they should be killing Lazarus also, ¹¹ for many of the Jews went because of him, and believed in Jesus."

¹⁶ saying, "What should we be doing to these men? For, indeed, that a known sign has occurred through them is apparent to all who are dwelling at Jerusalem, and we can not deny it." ¹⁷ But, lest it may be disseminated more among the people, we should be threatening them that by no means should they still be speaking in this Name to any man." ¹⁸ And calling them, they give them a sweeping charge, not to utter aught, nor yet to be teaching in the name of Jesus."

⁵ Yea, and your blood for your souls I will require. From the hand of every living animal will I require it, and from the hand of humanity. From the hand of a man's brother I will require the soul of a human.

²² And answering them is Reuben, saying, "Did not I speak to you, saying, `You must not sin against the boy'? And not hearken did you. And, moreover, behold! His blood is required.

²⁸ And Makkedah has Joshua captured on that day, and he smites it by the mouth of the sword, and its king he has devoted, them and every person who [is] in it--he has not left a remnant; and he does to the king of Makkedah as he did to the king of Jericho.

²⁸ And do not fear those who are killing the body, yet are not able to kill the soul. Yet be fearing Him, rather, Who is able to destroy the soul as well as the body in Gehenna."

¹² And saying is he, "You must not stretch out your hand on the lad, and you must not do aught to him, for now I know that you fear the Elohim, for you have not kept back your son, your only one from Me.

¹¹ To the selectmen of the sons of Israel He put not forth His hand, yet they perceived the One, Elohim, and ate and drank.

⁹ For you shall kill, yea kill him. Your hand shall be among the first against him to put him to death, and the hand of all the people thereafter.

²⁴ Now Pilate, perceiving that it is benefiting nothing, but rather a tumult is occurring, getting water, washes off his hands in front of the throng, saying, "Innocent am I of the blood of this just man. You will be seeing to it!"

¹ Now at that season Herod the king put forth his hands to illtreat some from the ecclesia.

³ And Israel loves Joseph more than any other of his sons, for a son of his old age is he, to him. And he makes for him a distinctive tunic.

³¹ And taking are they Joseph's tunic, and slaying a hairy one of the goats, and dipping the tunic in the blood. ³² And sending are they the distinctive tunic, and they are bringing it to their father. And saying are they, "This we found. Pray identify the tunic, if it is not your son's. ³³ And identifying it is he and saying, "The tunic of my son! An evil animal has devoured him! Joseph is torn to pieces, yea, to pieces!"

²¹ And saying are they, each man to his brother, "Nevertheless, guilty are we on account of our brother when we saw the distress of his soul, when he supplicated us and we did not hearken. Therefore comes on us all this distress.

¹⁸ They apportion my garments among themselves, And they cast the lot for my clothing."

²⁸ and, stripping Him, they place a scarlet mantle about Him,

⁷ For gratuitously have they buried their net for me; Gratuitously have they delved a grave for my soul.

² He brought me up from the cistern of tumult, From the miry mud; Then He raised my feet upon a crag; He has established my movement."

⁶ You have set me down in the nether crypt, In utter darkness, in shadowy depths;"

⁸ You have taken my close acquaintances far from me; You have set me down as abhorrent to them; Being shut up, I cannot go forth."

²⁰ The spirit of our nostrils, the anointed of Yahweh, he is seized in their pits, Of whom we said:In his shadow we shall live among the nations."

¹¹ Moreover, you, by the blood of your covenant, I send your prisoners away from a cistern without water in it."

¹¹ And saying to her is the messenger of Yahweh, "Behold! Pregnant are you, bearing a son, and you are to call his name Ishmael, for Yahweh hears of your humiliation. ¹² And becoming is he a wild ass of a human, his hand against all, and the hand of all against him. And adjoining all his brethren will he tabernacle.

¹ And continuing is Abraham, and taking is he a wife, and her name is Keturah. ² And bearing is she for him Zimran and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuch. ³ And Jokshan generates Sheba, and Thumun and Dedan. And the sons of Dedan come to be Raguel and Nabdeel and Ashurim, and Letushim, and Leummim. ⁴ And the sons of Midian are Ephah and Apher and Enoch and Abida and Eldaah. All these are the sons of Keturah.

¹⁶ These, they are the sons of Ishmael, and these are their names, in their environs and in their domiciles--twelve princes for their clans. ¹⁷ And these are the years of the life of Ishmael: a hundred and thirty seven years. And expiring is he, and died, and is gathered to his people. ¹⁸ And tabernacling are they from Havilah unto Shur, which is adjoining Egypt, as you come to Assyria. It falls to him to be adjoining all his brothers.

²¹ And away is he running, he and all which is his. And rising is he and crossing the stream, and is setting his face toward mount Gilead.

²³ And taking is he all his brethren with him, and is pursuing after him a way of seven days, and hard is he following after him in mount Gilead.

²⁸ And passing are mortals, Midianites, merchants. And drawing are they and bringing up Joseph from the cistern, and are selling Joseph to the Ishmaelites for twenty silverlings. And bringing are they Joseph to Egypt.

³⁶ And the Midianites sell Joseph to Egypt, to Potiphar, a eunuch of Pharaoh, chief of the executioners.

¹ And Joseph was brought down to Egypt. And bought is he by Potiphar, a eunuch of Pharaoh, chief of the executioners, an Egyptian man, from the hand of the Ishmaelites who had brought him down there.

⁶ The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites, Moab and the Hagarites,

²⁰ So also is the way of an adulterous woman; She eats and wipes off her mouth, And she says, I have not contrived lawlessness."

²² Is there no balm in Gilead? Is there no physician there? For wherefore has not the health of the daughter of my people gone up?

¹¹ Go up to Gilead, and take balm, O virgin daughter of Egypt, In vain you have multiplied medicines, Healing there is none for you."

⁶ those drinking wine in sprinkling bowls, and who are anointing with the principal oils, yet are not ill over the breaking of Joseph."

¹⁰ And saying is the Elohim, "What have you done? The voice of your brother's blood is crying to me from the ground.

³² And saying is Esau, "Behold! I am going to die, and what is this birthright to me?

²⁰ And now go, and we will kill him and fling him into one of the cisterns and say, `An evil animal devoured him,' and see will we what will become of his dreams.

⁸ In case a matter for judgment should be too difficult for you, between blood and blood, between adjudication and adjudication and between assault and assault, any matters of contentions in your gates, then you will arise and ascend to the place which Yahweh your Elohim shall choose.

¹⁶ and David said unto him, `Your blood [is] on your own head, for your mouth has testified against you, saying, I--I put to death the anointed of Yahweh..

¹⁸ O earth, do not cover my blood, And let there be no place for my outcry to rest.

⁹ What gain is there in my blood poured out, In my descending to the grave? Does soil acclaim You? Does it tell Your faithfulness?

⁸ And ten men have been found among them, and they say unto Ishmael, `Do not put us to death, for we have things hidden in the field--wheat, and barley, and oil, and honey.' And he forbears, and has not put them to death in the midst of their brethren."

⁷ For her blood in her midst has been, On a clear place of a rock she has set it, She has not poured it on the earth, To cover it over with dust."

²⁶ For the Son of Mankind is about to be coming in the glory of His Father, with His messengers, and then He will be paying each in accord with his practice."

²¹ What fruit, then, had you then? - of which you are now ashamed, for, indeed, the consummation of those things is death."

¹⁴ And saying to him is Laban, "Yea, my bone and my flesh are you.And dwelling with him is he the days of a month.

²² And saying to them is Reuben, "You must not shed blood. Fling him into this cistern which is in the wilderness, yet a hand you, you must not stretch out against him,--that he may rescue him from their hands, to restore him to his father.

¹⁶ He who steals a man whether he sells him or he is found in his hand, he shall be put to death, yea death.

²¹ only if he stands a day or two days he shall not be avenged, for he is his silver. "

¹⁷ And Saul said unto David, `Lo, my elder daughter Merab--her I give to you for a wife; only, be to me for a son of valor, and fight the battles of Yahweh;' and Saul said, `Let not my hand be on him, but let the hand of the Philistines be upon him..

¹⁴ And it comes to pass in the morning, that David writes a letter unto Joab, and sends by the hand of Uriah;" ¹⁵ and he writes in the letter, saying, `Place you Uriah over-against the front of the severest battle, and you have turned back from after him, and he has been smitten, and has died.. ¹⁶ And it comes to pass in Joab's watching of the city, that he appoints Uriah unto the place where he knew that valiant men [are];" ¹⁷ and the men of the city go out and fight with Joab, and there fall [some] of the people, of the servants of David; and there dies also Uriah the Hittite.

⁹ `Wherefore have you despised the word of Yahweh, to do the evil thing in His eyes? Uriah the Hittite you have smitten by the sword, and his wife you have taken to you for a wife, and him you have slain by the sword of the Bene-Ammon.

⁸ and say to them, `We have acquired our brethren the Jews, those sold to the nations, according to the ability that [is] in us, and you also sell your brethren, and they have been sold to us!' and they are silent, and have not found a word.

¹⁵ Now they weigh for him thirty pieces of silver.

¹⁰ paramours, sodomites, kidnapers, liars, perjurers, and if any other thing is opposing sound teaching,

¹³ including also cinnamon, and ginger, and incenses, and attar, and frankincense; and wine, and oil, and flour, and grain; and beasts, and sheep, and made up of horses, and of coaches, and of bodies, including also human souls."

² And bearing is she for him Zimran and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuch.

²⁵ And sitting down are they to eat bread. And lifting are they their eyes and seeing, and behold! A caravan of Ishmaelites are coming from Gilead with their camels, bearing perfume and balm and labdanum, going by to go down to Egypt.

⁴ And saying is Joseph to his brothers, "Come close, pray, to me.And close are they coming. And saying is he, "I am Joseph, your brother, whom you sold to Egypt. ⁵ And now, you must not grieve, and it must not be hot in your eyes, that you sell me hither, for to preserve life the Elohim sends me before you.

¹⁶ Now the priest of Midian had seven daughters, and they came, drew out water and filled the troughs to let their father's flock drink.

¹⁵ And the name of the smitten Midianite woman was Cozbi daughter of Zur. He was a head of clans of a father's house in Midian.

¹⁷ Distress the Midianites and smite them,

² Avenge the sons of Israel with vengeance on the Midianites; and afterward you shall be gathered to your people. ³ Then Moses spoke to the people, saying:Outfit men from among you as a militia host that they may come against Midian to deliver the vengeance of Yahweh on Midian.

⁸ As for the kings of Midian, they killed them along with their men wounded to death:Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur and Reba, five kings of Midian. Also Balaam son of Beor they killed with the sword. ⁹ The sons of Israel captured the women of Midian and their little ones; they plundered all their beasts, all their cattle and all their estate.

¹ And the sons of Israel do the evil thing in the eyes of Yahweh, and Yahweh gives them into the hand of Midian seven years, ² and the hand of Midian is strong against Israel, from the presence of Midian have the sons of Israel made for themselves the flowings which [are] in the mountains, and the caves, and the strongholds. ³ And it has been, if Israel has sowed, that Midian has come up, and Amalek, and the sons of the east, yea, they have come up against him,

²² And the men of Israel say unto Gideon, `Rule over us, both you, and your son, and your son's son, for you have saved us from the hand of Midian..

²⁴ And Gideon said unto them, `Let me ask of you a petition, and give you to me each the ring of his prey, for they have rings of gold, for they [are] Ishmaelites..

⁹ Do to them as You did to Midian, as to Sisera, As to Jabin at the Wadi Kishon:"

¹⁷ He sent a man before them, Joseph, who was sold as a slave."

⁶ An accumulation of camels shall cover you, dromedaries of Midian and Ephah, all those from Sheba shall come. Gold and frankincense and precious stones shall they carry, and of the praises of Yahweh shall they bear tidings."

¹² And I am saying to them, If it is good in your eyes, grant my hire. And if not, forbear. And they are weighing my hire, thirty silverlings." ¹³ And Yahweh is saying to me, Fling it to the minter--the noble esteem with which I am esteemed by them! So I am taking the thirty silverlings and am flinging them to the minter in the house of Yahweh."

⁹ Then was fulfilled that which is declared through Jeremiah the prophet, saying, And they got the thirty silver pieces. (The price of the Valued One, Whom they value from the sons of Israel),

¹³ And answering are the sons of Jacob to Shechem and Hamor, his father, with deceit. And speaking are they to those who had defiled Dinah, their sister.

³⁴ And tearing is Jacob his garments, and is placing sackcloth on his waist, and is mourning over his son many days.

¹³ And tearing are they their garments, and lading is each man his bag on his ass, and returning are they to the city.

⁶ Joshua son of Nun and Caleb son of Jephunneh, two of the explorers of the land, tore their garment.

³⁵ And it comes to pass, when he sees her, that he rends his garments, and said, `Alas, my daughter, you have caused me greatly to bend, and you have been among those troubling me; and I--I have opened my mouth unto Yahweh, and I am not able to turn back..

¹ And it comes to pass, at king Hezekiah's hearing, that he rends his garments, and covers himself with sackcloth, and enters the house of Yahweh,

²⁰ Then Job arose, tore his robe and sheared his head. He fell to the earth and worshiped.

¹³ and tear your heart and not your garments, and return to Yahweh, your Elohim. For gracious and compassionate is He, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and He regrets over the evil."

¹⁴ Now, on hearing this, the apostles Barnabas and Paul, tearing their garments, spring out into the throng, crying"

¹³ And saying are they, "Your servants, twelve brothers are we, sons of one man in the land of Canaan. And, behold! The small is with our father today, and one is not.

³² Twelve are we, brothers, sons of our father. One is not, and the small is today with our father in the land of Canaan..

³⁵ And coming is it, at their emptying their sacks, behold! Each man's money pouch is in his sack. And seeing are they and their father the pouches with their money, and are fearful. ³⁶ And saying to them is Jacob, their father, "Me you bereave! Joseph is not, and Simeon is not, and Benjamin you will take! On me come all these things.

¹⁵ Thus said Yahweh, A voice in Ramah is heard, wailing, weeping most bitter, Rachel is weeping for her sons, She has refused to be comforted for her sons, because they are not."

²⁰ And said we to my lord, `Forsooth, we have a father, old, and a boy of his old age, the small and his brother is dead, and left is he alone of his mother, and his father loves him. <sup>21</sup> And said you to your servants, `Bring him down to me that I may place my eyes upon him.. ²² And said we to my lord, "The youth cannot leave his father. And, leaves he his father, he also will die.. ²³ Yet you said to your servants, `Should not your small brother come down with you, you shall not continue to see my face..

³⁰ Yet when this son of yours came, who is devouring your livelihood with prostitutes, you sacrifice for him the grain-fed calf!'"

²⁸ And forth is one faring from me. And saying am I, "Yea, as prey is he torn to pieces!"And not seen him have I hitherto.

¹⁵ A simple person believes every word, Yet a prudent man gives consideration to his movements."

⁷ Jesus answered and said to him, "What I am doing you are not aware at present, yet you will know after these things."

²⁹ And returning is Reuben to the cistern, and behold! No Joseph is in the cistern. And tearing is he his garments.

⁶ And Joshua rends his garments, and falls on his face to the earth before the ark of Yahweh till the evening, he and the elders of Israel, and they cause dust to go up on their head.

¹¹ And David takes hold on his garments, and rends them, and also all the men who [are] with him,

³¹ And David said unto Joab, and unto all the people who [are] with him, `Rend your garments, and gird on sackcloth, and mourn before Abner;' and king David is going after the bier.

³¹ And his servants say unto him, `Lo, we pray you, we have heard that the kings of the house of Israel--that they are kind kings; let us put, we pray you, sackcloth on our loins, and ropes on our heads, and we go out unto the king of Israel; it may be he does keep you alive..

²⁷ And it comes to pass, at Ahab's hearing these words, that he rends his garments, and puts sackcloth on his flesh, and fasts, and lies in sackcloth, and goes gently.

¹⁶ and David lifts up his eyes, and sees the messenger of Yahweh standing between the earth and the heavens, and his sword drawn in his hand, stretched out over Jerusalem, and David falls, and the elders, covered with sackcloth, on their faces.

³ When I heard about this matter, I tore my garment and my robe and scraped some of the hair of my head and my beard and sat down in desolation. ⁴ Around me were gathering all those trembling at the words of the Elohim of Israel on account of the offense of the sons of deportation. And I continued sitting in desolation until the evening approach present. ⁵ Then at the time of the evening approach present I arose from my self-abasement and, with my garment and my robe torn on me, I bowed down on my knees and spread out my palms to Yahweh my Elohi.

¹ And in the twenty and fourth day of this month have the sons of Israel been gathered, with fasting, and with sackcloth, and earth upon them;"

¹ When Mordecai got knowledge of everything that had been done, Mordecai tore his clothes and put on sackcloth and ashes. Then he went forth into the midst of the city and cried out with a loud and bitter outcry, ² until he came before the king's gateway (for no one was to come into the king's gateway in clothing of sackcloth). ³ Also, in every place of the different provinces to which the king's order and his edict were attaining, there was great mourning among the Jews, with fasting and lamentation and wailing. Sackcloth and ashes became a berth for many.

¹² When they lifted their eyes from afar, they did not recognize him. Then they lifted their voice and lamented, while each one tore his robe, and they sprinkled soil toward the heavens on their heads.

¹¹ When I make my clothing of sackcloth, I become a proverb to them."

¹² And my Lord, Yahweh of hosts, will call for lamentation in that day, and for wailing, and for baldness, and for girding on sackcloth;" ¹³ yet behold! Elation will they make and rejoicing, killing an ox and slaying from the flock, eating flesh and drinking wine, saying, "Eat and drink, for tomorrow we will die."

¹¹ Tremble, tranquil women! Be disturbed, trusting women! Strip and be naked, with a girdle skirt on the loins!"

²² And coming are Eliakim, son of Hilkiah, who is over the household, and Shebna, the scribe, and Joah, son of Asaph, the recorder, to Hezekiah, with torn garments, and they are telling him the words of the grand cupbearer."

²⁴ And the king and all his servants who are hearing all these words have not been afraid, nor rent their garments."

⁵ Then the men of Nineveh are believing in Elohim. And they are calling a fast and are putting on sackcloths, from their greatest unto their small." ⁶ And the word is touching the king of Nineveh. And he is rising from his throne and is transferring his fur robe from him, and he is covering himself with sackcloth and is sitting on ashes." ⁷ And he is calling a convocation, and he is saying in Nineveh, By the decree of the king and his great ones, saying:Human and beast, herd and flock must not be tasting aught. They must not be grazing, and water they must not be drinking." ⁸ The human and the beast shall cover themselves with sackcloths. And they shall call with steadfastness to Elohim. And they shall turn back, each man, from his evil way and from the wrong which is in their palms."

²¹ Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the powerful deeds which are occurring in you occurred in Tyre and Sidon, long ago they would repent, sitting in sackcloth and ashes."

⁶⁵ Then the chief priest tears his garments, saying that "He blasphemes! What need have we still of witnesses? Lo! now you hear his blasphemy!"

³ And I will be endowing My two witnesses and they will be prophesying a thousand two hundred sixty days, clothed in sackcloth."

⁴³ And answering is Laban and saying to Jacob, "The daughters are my daughters, and the sons my sons, and the flock my flock, and all that you are seeing, mine is it, and my daughters'. What shall I do for these today, or for their sons which they have borne?

²² And coming is it, when Israel tabernacles in that land, that going is Reuben and lying with Bilhah, his father's concubine. And hearing of it is Israel, and evil appears it in his eyes. ²³ And coming are the sons of Jacob to be twelve: The sons of Leah, the firstborn of Jacob, Reuben, and Simeon and Levi and Judah and Issachar and Zebulon;" ²⁴ and the sons of Rachel, Joseph and Benjamin;"

³¹ And we said to him, `Established are we. Not come have we to spy.

³⁸ And saying is he, "Not go down with you shall my son, for his brother is dead, and he alone remains. And meets him a mishap in the way in which you will go, then down will you bring my gray hairs with affliction to the unseen.

²⁹ And take this one, moreover, from before my face, and a mishap befalls him on the way, down will you bring my gray hairs by evil to the unseen.. ³⁰ And now, as I come to your servant, our father, and the youth is not with us, when his soul is tied to his soul, ³¹ and it comes as he sees that no youth is with us, he will die, and down will your servants bring the gray hairs of your servant, our father, by affliction to the unseen.

²⁸ And Israel is saying, "Much! Still is Joseph, my son, living! Go will I and see him ere I die.

¹⁷ And the elders of his house rise against him, to raise him up from the earth, and he has not been willing, nor has he eaten with them bread;"

¹¹ Now three associates of Job heard about all this evil coming on him, and they set out, each one from his place, Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite. They appointed a time together to come and condole with him and comfort him.

² In the day of my distress I sought after Yahweh; At night my hand was stirred up in prayer, And it would not give way; My soul refused to be consoled."

¹ And continuing is Abraham, and taking is he a wife, and her name is Keturah. ² And bearing is she for him Zimran and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuch.

¹ And Joseph was brought down to Egypt. And bought is he by Potiphar, a eunuch of Pharaoh, chief of the executioners, an Egyptian man, from the hand of the Ishmaelites who had brought him down there. ² And coming is Yahweh to be with Joseph, and becoming is he a prosperous man. And coming is he to be in the house of his lord, the Egyptian. ³ And seeing is his lord that Yahweh is with him and that all that he is doing Yahweh is prospering in his hand. ⁴ And finding is Joseph grace in the eyes of his lord, and ministering is he to him. And making him is he supervisor over his household, and all, forsooth, which is his he gives into Joseph's hand. ⁵ And coming is it, since he makes him supervisor in his house and over all, forsooth, that is his, that Yahweh is blessing the Egyptian's household due to Joseph, and coming is Yahweh's blessing to be over all, forsooth, which is his, in the house and in the field. ⁶ And leaving is he all that is his in the hand of Joseph. And naught knows he of his, save the bread which he is eating. And coming is Joseph to have a lovely shape and a lovely appearance. ⁷ And coming is it after these things, that lifting is the wife of his lord her eyes to Joseph and is saying, "Lie with me. ⁸ And refusing is he, and saying to his lord's wife, "Behold! My lord knows naught of me in the house, and all, forsooth, that is his he gives into my hand. ⁹ No one is greater in this house than I, and he has not kept back aught from me save you, in that you are his wife. And how shall I do this great evil and sin against the Elohim? ¹⁰ And coming is it, as she speaks to Joseph day by day, that he does not hearken to her to lie beside her, to be with her. ¹¹ And coming is a day as this, and coming is Joseph to the house to do his work, and no man of the mortals of the household is there in the house. ¹² And grasping him is she by his cloak, saying, "Lie with me!"And leaving is he his cloak in her hand, and fleeing, and faring forth outside. ¹³ And coming is it, as she sees that he leaves his cloak in her hand and is fleeing and faring forth outside, ¹⁴ that calling is she to the mortals of her household and is speaking to them, saying, "See! He brings to us a man, a Hebrew to laugh at us. He comes to me saying, `Lie with me,' and calling am I with a loud voice. <sup>15</sup> And coming is it, as he hears that I raise high my voice and am calling, that he is leaving his cloak beside me and is fleeing and faring forth outside. <sup>16</sup> And leaving is she his cloak beside her till his lord comes to his house. <sup>17</sup> And speaking is she to him according to these words, saying, "There came to me the Hebrew servant whom you brought to us, to laugh at me, and said to me, `Lie with me.. ¹⁸ And coming is it, as I raise high my voice and am calling, that he is leaving his cloak beside me and is fleeing and is faring forth outside. ¹⁹ And coming is it, as his lord hears the words of his wife, which she speaks to him, saying, "According to these words does your servant to me,that hot is his anger. ²⁰ And Joseph's lord is taking him and is giving him over to the round-house, the place in which the king's prisoners are bound. And coming is he to be there in the round-house. ²¹ Yet coming is Yahweh to be with Joseph, and He is stretching out to him in kindness and is giving him grace in the eyes of the chief of the round-house. ²² And the chief of the round-house is giving into the hand of Joseph all the prisoners who are in the round-house. And all that is being done there, he comes to be the doer. ²³ Naught is the chief of the round-house prison seeing of all that is in his hand, in that Yahweh is with him, and all that he is doing Yahweh is prospering.

⁴ And the chief of the executioners gives Joseph the supervision over them, and he is ministering to them. And coming are they to be some days in ward.

⁸ And in the fifth month, on the seventh of the month (it [is] the nineteenth year of king Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon), has Nebuzaradan chief of the executioners, servant of the king of Babylon, come to Jerusalem,

¹⁰ On the seventh day, when the king's heart was cheerful with wine, he ordered Mehuman, Biztha, Harbona, Bigtha, Abagtha, Zethar and Carcas (the seven eunuchs ministering in the presence of king Xerxes),

³ And the son of the foreigner obligated to Yahweh must not speak, saying, `Separating, yea separating me is Yahweh from His people,' and the eunuch must not say, `Behold! I am a dry tree.'"
