¹ And coming is it at the end of two years to a day that Pharaoh dreams and, behold! Standing is he at the waterway. ² And, behold! From the waterway are coming up seven young cows, lovely in appearance and plump of flesh. And grazing are they in the marsh grass. ³ And, behold! Seven other young cows are coming up after them from the waterway, evil in appearance and thin of flesh. And standing are they beside the young cows on the shore of the waterway. ⁴ And eating are the seven young cows, evil in appearance and thin of flesh, the seven young cows, lovely in appearance and plump. And waking is Pharaoh. ⁵ And sleeping is he and dreaming a second time. And, behold! Seven spikes are coming up on one reed, plump and good. ⁶ And behold! Seven other spikes, thin and blasted by the burning east wind are sprouting after them. ⁷ And up are swallowing the seven spikes, thin and blasted by the east wind, the seven plump and full spikes. And waking is Pharaoh. And, behold! A dream was it. ⁸ And coming is it in the morning that agitated is his spirit, and sending is he and calling all the sacred scribes of Egypt and all the wise men. And relating is Pharaoh to them his dream. Yet no one is there to interpret it for Pharaoh. ⁹ And speaking is the chief of the cupbearers to Pharaoh, saying, "Of my sin am I reminded today. ¹⁰ Pharaoh was wroth with his servants, and gave us in ward in the house of the chief of the executioners, me and the chief of the bakers. ¹¹ And dreaming are we a dream in the same night, I and he. Each man dreamed according to the interpretation of his dream. ¹² And there with us was a Hebrew lad, a servant of the chief of the executioners. And we related them to him and he is interpreting for us our dreams. For each man, according to his dream, he interpreted. ¹³ And coming is it that, as he interpreted to us, so it comes to be. Me he restores to my post, and him he hanged. ¹⁴ And sending is Pharaoh and calling Joseph. And running him are they from the cistern. And shaving is he and changing his garments, and coming to Pharaoh. ¹⁵ And saying is Pharaoh to Joseph, "A dream I dream, and there is no one to interpret it. And I hear say of you, that you, hearing a dream, interpret it. ¹⁶ And answering Pharaoh is Joseph saying, "Apart from the Elohim there is no answer for the welfare of Pharaoh. ¹⁷ And speaking is Pharaoh to Joseph saying, "In my dream, behold me standing on the shore of the waterway. ¹⁸ And behold! From the waterway are coming up seven young cows, plump of flesh and lovely in shape. And grazing are they in the marsh grass. ¹⁹ And, behold! Seven other young cows are coming up from the waterway after them, poor and exceedingly evil in shape, and emaciated of flesh. Not seen have I such as they in all the land of Egypt, so evil. ²⁰ And eating are the seven emaciated and evil young cows the first seven lovely and plump young cows, ²¹ and coming are they into their inwards, yet not known is it that they come into their inwards, and their appearance is evil, as at the start. And awaking am I. ²² And I sleep and am seeing again in my dream, and, behold! Seven spikes are coming up on one reed, full and good. ²³ And, behold! Seven other spikes, puny, thin, and blasted by the burning east wind, sprouting after them. ²⁴ And swallowing up are the seven thin spikes. And stating this am I to the sacred scribes, and there is no one telling me what it is. ²⁵ And saying is Joseph to Pharaoh, "The dream of Pharaoh, one is it. What the Elohim will be doing He tells to Pharaoh. ²⁶ The seven good young cows, seven years are they; and the seven good spikes, seven years are they. The dream of Pharaoh, one is it. ²⁷ And the seven emaciated and evil young cows coming up after them, seven years are they. And the seven empty spikes, blasted by the burning east wind, are coming to be seven years of famine. ²⁸ It is the word which I speak to Pharaoh: What the Elohim will do He shows to Pharaoh. ²⁹ Behold! Seven years are coming of great satisfaction in all the land of Egypt. ³⁰ Yet rise will seven years of famine after them. And forgotten will be all the satisfaction in all the land of Egypt, and finish will the famine the land. ³¹ And not known shall be the satisfaction in the land, in view of the famine that is afterward, for heavy will it be exceedingly. ³² And on account of the repetition of the dream to Pharaoh twice, it is that the matter is established with the Elohim. And the Elohim will hasten His doing of it. ³³ And now, see will Pharaoh to a man of understanding and wisdom, and set him over the land of Egypt. ³⁴ Doing this will Pharaoh, and he will give the supervision to supervisors over the land and a fifth of all the produce of the land of Egypt will they take in the seven years of satisfaction. ³⁵ And get together shall they all the food of these seven coming good years, and heap up cereals under the hand of Pharaoh for food in the cities, and keep it. ³⁶ And the food shall come to be supervised in the land for the seven years of the famine which shall come to be in the land of Egypt, and so the land shall not be cut off by the famine. ³⁷ And good is the matter in the eyes of Pharaoh and in the eyes of all his servants. ³⁸ And saying is Pharaoh to his servants, "Find will we one as this man, who has the spirit of the Elohim in him? ³⁹ And saying is Pharaoh to Joseph, "After the Elohim has made known to you all this, there is no one as understanding and wise as you. ⁴⁰ You shall be over my household, and at your bidding all my people shall bear weapons. But on the throne will I be greater than you. ⁴¹ And saying is Pharaoh to Joseph, "See! Given you have I today to be over all the land of Egypt. ⁴² And taking off from his hand his ring is Pharaoh, and is putting it on the hand of Joseph. And clothing him is he in garments of cambric sheen, and is placing a knitted collar of gold on his neck, ⁴³ and is having him ride in the second chariot which he has. And calling are they before him, "Kneel!"And he gives him to be over all the land of Egypt. ⁴⁴ And saying is Pharaoh to Joseph, "I am Pharaoh, and apart from you shall no man raise his hand or his foot in all the land of Egypt. ⁴⁵ And calling is Pharaoh Joseph's name Zaphnath-paaneah. And giving him is he Asenath, daughter of Potiphera, priest of On, for a wife. And forth is Joseph faring over the land of Egypt. ⁴⁶ And Joseph is thirty years old when he stands before Pharaoh, king of Egypt. And forth is Joseph faring from the face of Pharaoh, and passing through all the land of Egypt. ⁴⁷ And yielding is the land in the seven years of satisfaction, by fistfuls. ⁴⁸ And getting together is he all the food of the seven years of satisfaction which come to be in the land of Egypt. And bestowing is he the food in the cities. The food of the field of the city which surrounds it, he bestows in its midst. ⁴⁹ And heaping up is Joseph cereals as the sand of the sea, multiplied exceedingly furthermore, so that he leaves off numbering, for there is no numbering it. ⁵⁰ And to Joseph are born two sons, ere the seven famine years are coming, whom Asenath, daughter of Potiphera, priest of On, bears for him. ⁵¹ And calling is Joseph the name of the firstborn Manasseh, for "the Elohim makes me oblivious of all my toil and all my father's household. ⁵² And the name of the second he calls Ephraim, for "the Elohim makes me fruitful in the land of my humiliation. ⁵³ And concluding are the seven years of satisfaction, which come to be in the land of Egypt, ⁵⁴ and starting to come are the seven years of famine, as Joseph had said. And coming is the famine in all the lands, yet in all the land of Egypt there comes to be bread. ⁵⁵ When famishing is all the land of Egypt, then crying are the people to Pharaoh for bread. And saying is Pharaoh to all Egypt, "Go to Joseph, and what he will say to you, be doing. ⁵⁶ And the famine comes to be on the surface of all the earth. And opening is Joseph all the cereal stores which are among them, and is retailing to all Egypt. And the famine is holding fast in the land of Egypt. ⁵⁷ And all lands come to Egypt to Joseph to purchase, for fast is the famine holding in all the earth.

³ And coming is the Elohim to Abimelech in a dream in the night, and is saying to him, "Behold yourself dying on account of the woman whom you take, when she is possessed by a possessor.

¹⁴ And saying to him is Laban, "Yea, my bone and my flesh are you.And dwelling with him is he the days of a month.

²¹ And away is he running, he and all which is his. And rising is he and crossing the stream, and is setting his face toward mount Gilead.

⁵ And dreaming is Joseph a dream. And telling it is he to his brothers. And continuing further are they in their hatred of him. ⁶ And saying is he to them, "Hear, pray, this dream which I dreamed. ⁷ And, behold! We are compressing shocks in the midst of the field. And behold! Rising is my shock, and, moreover, takes its station. And, behold! Surrounding it are your shocks, and prostrating to my shock!" ⁸ And saying to him are his brothers, "Verily reign over us shall you? And should you verily rule among us?And continuing further are they to hate him on account of his dreams, and on account of his words. ⁹ And dreaming is he still another dream. And relating is he it to his father and to his brothers, and is saying, "Behold! I dream a further dream. And behold! The sun and the moon and the eleven stars are prostrating to me. ¹⁰ And relating it is he to his father and to his brothers. And rebuking him is his father, and saying to him, "What dream is this which you dream? Shall I and your mother and your brothers come, yea, come to prostrate to you to the earth?

⁵ And dreaming are both a dream. Each man has his dream in the same night, each man according to the interpretation of his dream, the chief cupbearer and the chief baker, who are the king of Egypt's who are bound in the round-house.

²² Then Pharaoh instructed all his people, saying: Every son born to the Hebrews, into the waterway shall you fling him, yet every daughter you shall keep alive.

⁹ Yet it will come to be even should they not believe these two signs, nor hearken to your voice, then you will take some of the water of the waterway and pour it out on the dry land. And the waters which you are taking from the waterway will come to be, yea will come to be blood on the dry land.

¹⁰ For the land, where you are entering to tenant it, is not like the country of Egypt, that one from where you came forth, in which you sowed your seed and irrigated it with your foot as a garden of greens.

¹³ And Gideon comes in, and lo, a man is recounting to his companion a dream, and said, `Lo, a dream I have dreamed, and lo, a cake of barley-bread is turning itself over into the camp of Midian, and it comes in unto the tent, and smites it, and it falls, and turns it upwards, and the tent has fallen.. <sup>14</sup> And his companion answers and said, `This is nothing save the sword of Gideon son of Joash, a man of Israel; Elohim has given into his hand Midian and all the camp..

¹ During that night, sleep flit away from the king, and he said to bring the memorial scroll of records of the days; and they were read before the king.

¹⁵ In a dream, a vision of the night, When stupor falls upon men, In slumberings on their bed;" ¹⁶ Then He reveals matters to the ear of men, And He dismays them with admonitions,

⁵ And absorbed are the waters from the upper sea, and the stream shall be drained and be dry."

³ Speak, and you have said:Thus said the Lord Yahweh:Lo, I [am] against you, Pharaoh king of Egypt! The great dragon that is crouching in the midst of his floods, Who has said, My flood [is] my own, And I--I have made it [for] myself."

⁹ And the land of Egypt has been for a desolation and a waste, And they have known that I [am] Yahweh. Because he said:The flood [is] mine, and I made [it]."

¹ In the second year of Nebuchadnezzar's kingdom, Nebuchadnezzar dreams dreams; agitated is his spirit and his sleep is fleeing from him." ² Saying is the king to call the sacred scribes and the magi and the enchanters and the Chaldeans to tell the king his dreams. Then they are coming and standing before the king. ³ Saying is the king to them, "A dream I dream, and agitated is my spirit to know the dream."

⁵ A dream I perceived and it is terrifying me, and portents on my bed, even the visions of my head are flustering me." ⁶ Then from me a decree was promulgated to bring in before me all the wise men of Babylon, that the interpretation of the dream they shall make known to me." ⁷ Then went in the sacred scribes, the magi, the Chaldeans and the hieromancers, and I am stating the dream before them, yet its interpretation they did not make known to me." ⁸ Further, last of all, Daniel comes in before me, whose name is Belteshazzar, after the name of my eloah. Now, seeing that the spirit of the holy Elohim is in him, I state the dream before him also:" ⁹ Belteshazzar, grandee of the sacred scribes, seeing that I know that the spirit of the holy Elohim is in you, and no secret at all bothers you, hear the visions of my dream that I perceived, and state its interpretation to me." ¹⁰ Now the visions of my head on my bed are these:Perceiving am I, and lo, an oak in the midst of the earth, and its height is enormous." ¹¹ The oak increases and is mighty, and its height is reaching to the heavens, and it is perceptible to the extremity of the entire earth." ¹² Its leaves are seemly, and its pollination abundant, and sustenance for all is in it. Under it the animal of the field is shaded, and in its boughs are abiding the birds of the heavens, and from it all flesh is having sustenance for itself." ¹³ Perceiving am I in the visions of my head on my bed, and lo, a holy rouser is alighting from the heavens." ¹⁴ He is calling with potency and this is what he is saying, `Slash down the oak; cut away its boughs. Shake off its leaves; scatter its pollinated fruit. Wander shall the animals from under it, and the birds from its boughs." ¹⁵ But the stump with its roots leave in the earth clamped with a band of iron and copper. In the verdure of the field with the night mist of the heavens shall he be streaked. With the animals shall be his portion:The herbage of the earth. ¹⁶ His heart shall alter from a mortal's:The heart of an animal shall be granted to him; ¹⁷ thus seven seasons shall pass on over him. In a severance of the rousers is the rescript, and in a statement of the saints is the request, unto the intent that the living shall know that the Supreme is in authority in the kingdom of mortals, and to whom He is willing is He giving it, and a low one of mortals is He setting over it.'" ¹⁸ This dream, I, king Nebuchadnezzar, perceived. Now you, Belteshazzar, state the interpretation, forasmuch as all the wise men of my kingdom can not make known to me the interpretation. Yet you Daniel can, seeing that the spirit of the holy Elohim is in you."

¹ In year one of Belshazzar, king of Babylon, Daniel perceives a dream, even visions of his head on his bed. Then he writes the dream which he had perceived, stating a summary of the matters." ² Daniel is responding as follows:Perceiving am I in my vision by night, and behold, four winds of the heavens are rushing forth to the vast sea, ³ and four monstrous animals are coming up from the sea, diverse one from another." ⁴ The eastern animal is a lioness, and she has the wings of a vulture. Perceiving am I till her wings are scraped off, and she is tilted up from the earth and is set up on her feet as a mortal, and the heart of a mortal is being granted to her." ⁵ And behold, another animal, a second, like a she-bear; one part is set up, and three ribs are in her mouth between her teeth. Thus are they saying to her, "Rise! Eat huge amounts of flesh." ⁶ In place of this perceiving am I, and behold, another animal, as a leopardess; she has four flyer's wings on her arched back, and four heads has the animal. Jurisdiction is being granted to her." ⁷ In place of this perceiving am I in the visions of the night, and behold, a fourth animal, terrifying and awful, and exuberantly mighty; she has monstrous iron teeth, devouring and pulverizing and stamping upon the remainder with her feet. She is diverse from all the animals that are east of her, and she has ten horns." ⁸ Contemplating am I the horns, and lo, another bit of a horn comes up among them, and three of the eastern horns are felled to stumps before it. And lo, eyes as the eyes of a mortal are in this horn, and a mouth declaring monstrous things, and it is making war with the saints."

¹⁹ Now at his sitting on the dais, his wife dispatches to him, saying, "Let there be nothing between you and that just man, for I suffered much today in a trance because of him."

⁶ And the streams evaporate, and are impoverished, and the waterways of lower Egypt drain. The reeds and the weeds are withered."

⁴ And eating are the seven young cows, evil in appearance and thin of flesh, the seven young cows, lovely in appearance and plump. And waking is Pharaoh.

²⁰ And eating are the seven emaciated and evil young cows the first seven lovely and plump young cows, ²¹ and coming are they into their inwards, yet not known is it that they come into their inwards, and their appearance is evil, as at the start. And awaking am I.

¹⁵ And Solomon awakes, and lo, a dream; and he comes in to Jerusalem, and stands before the ark of the covenant of Yahweh, and causes to ascend burnt-offerings, and makes peace-offerings. And he makes a banquet for all his servants,

¹⁴ clotted cream of the herd and milk of the flock, with fat of butting rams and rams of Bashan-breed and he-goats, with the fat of the wheat germ. And from the blood of the grape you drank turbid wine.

¹⁰ And lo, the planted thing--does it prosper? When come against it does the east wind, Does it not utterly wither? On the furrows of its springing it withers.'"

¹² And it is plucked up in fury, To the earth it has been cast, And the east wind has dried up its fruit, Broken and withered has been the rod of its strength, Fire has consumed it."

¹⁵ Seeing that he is parting between his brothers, an east wind shall come. The wind of Yahweh shall come up from the wilderness, and it will dry up his fountain, and it will drain his spring. He shall rob the treasure of every coveted furnishing."

⁵ And dreaming is Joseph a dream. And telling it is he to his brothers. And continuing further are they in their hatred of him.

⁶ And coming to them is Joseph in the morning, and he is seeing them. And, behold! They are turbulent!"

⁸ And saying are they to him, "A dream we dream, and there is no interpreting of it.And saying is Joseph to them, "Do not interpretations belong to the Elohim? Relate them, pray, to me.

¹¹ Pharaoh, however, called for the wise men and for the enchanters. And even they, the sacred scribes of Egypt, did so with their occultisms.

²² Also the sacred scribes of Egypt did so with their occultisms; hence the heart of Pharaoh was steadfast, and he did not hearken to them, just as Yahweh had spoken.

⁷ Also the sacred scribes did so with their occultisms, and they brought up frogs over the land of Egypt.

¹⁸ Now the sacred scribes did so by their occultisms so as to bring forth the lice, yet they were unable. Since there had come to be lice on human and on beast. ¹⁹ The sacred scribes said to Pharaoh: This is the finger of Elohim! Yet the heart of Pharaoh was steadfast, and he did not hearken to them just as Yahweh had spoken.

¹¹ Now the sacred scribes were unable to stand before Moses in view of the boils, for the boil came to be on the sacred scribes and on all Egypt.

³¹ Do not countenance mediums and wizards; do not seek them out to be defiled by them:I, Yahweh am your Elohim.

⁶ As for the soul who should countenance mediums and wizards to prostitute after them, I will set My face against that soul also and cut him off from among his people.

⁹ When you come to the land that Yahweh your Elohim is giving to you, you shall not learn to act according to the abhorrences of those nations. ¹⁰ There shall not be found among you one causing his son or his daughter to pass through fire, or one divining divinations, or consulting clouds, auguring or enchantin. ¹¹ or charming with charms, one asking of a medium or wizard or inquiring after the dead. ¹² For anyone doing these things is an abhorrence to Yahweh your Elohim, and owing to these abhorrences Yahweh your Elohim is evicting them from your presence. ¹³ Flawless shall you come to be with Yahweh your Elohim. ¹⁴ For these nations in whose place you are tenanting, they hearken to cloud consulters and diviners. As for you, Yahweh your Elohim does not allow you to do so.

¹² He is annulling the devisings of the crafty, So that their hands may not achieve prosperity, ¹³ Seizing the wise in their craftiness, So that their cunning counsel is carried headlong.

¹⁴ The intimacy of Yahweh is for those fearing Him, And His covenant, to give them knowledge."

¹⁹ And in case they shall say to you, "Inquire of the mediums, and of the ventriloquists, and of the wizards, the chirpers and the cooers,Should not a people of its Elohim inquire? Who inquires about the living of the dead?

³ And void is the spirit of Egypt within it, and I will swallow up its counsel. And they inquire of the forbidden idols, and of the ventriloquists, and of the mediums and of the wizards."

¹¹ Yea! Foolish are the chiefs of Zoan, the wise counselors of Pharaoh give brutish counsel. How will you say to Pharaoh, "I am a son of the wise, a son of former kings"? ¹² Whereat, indeed, are your wise? And, pray, will they tell to you, and will they know what Yahweh of hosts counsels over Egypt? ¹³ Foolish are the chiefs of Zoan! Lured away are the chiefs of Noph! They lead Egypt astray, the corner stone of its tribes."

¹⁴ Wherefore, behold Me! I will proceed to distribute this people, and I am distributing them. And perish shall the wisdom of their wise, and the understanding of their understanding ones shall conceal itself."

¹² Then stand, pray, by your magic charms, and by your many enchantments, with which you were acquainted from your youth until today. Perhaps you can benefit! Perhaps you will be staunch!" ¹³ You are tired with your many counsels. Standing, pray, are they, and saving you are the astrologers, the seers of visions in the stars, the informers for new moons, from the things which are coming on you?

²⁰ in every matter of wisdom and of understanding which the king seeks of them, he is finding them tenfold above all the sacred scribes and magi which are in all his kingdom. Hence they are honored by the king; he constitutes them chiefs, and he finds them wiser in word than all those in his land and in his kingdom."

¹ In the second year of Nebuchadnezzar's kingdom, Nebuchadnezzar dreams dreams; agitated is his spirit and his sleep is fleeing from him." ² Saying is the king to call the sacred scribes and the magi and the enchanters and the Chaldeans to tell the king his dreams. Then they are coming and standing before the king. ³ Saying is the king to them, "A dream I dream, and agitated is my spirit to know the dream." ⁴ Speaking are the Chaldeans to the king in Syriac, "O king, live for the eon! State the dream to your servants, and we will disclose the interpretation." ⁵ Answering is the king and saying to the Chaldeans, "The matter is departing from me. Should you not be making known to me the dream and its interpretation, you shall be dismembered, and the confiscation of your houses shall be promulgated." ⁶ Should you disclose the dream and its interpretation to me, gifts and a reward and great esteem shall you receive before me. Only disclose the dream and its interpretation." ⁷ They answer a second time and are saying, "The king will state the dream to his servants, then the interpretation will we disclose." ⁸ Answering is the king and saying, "I know for certain that you would gain time, forasmuch as you perceive that the matter is departing from me." ⁹ For, should you not be making the dream known to me, there is but one edict for you, as you will concoct a lying and corrupt matter to say before me, till the times are altering. Only the dream state to me, and I shall know that its interpretation you will disclose to me." ¹⁰ Answering are the Chaldeans before the king and saying, "Actually no mortal on earth can disclose the king's matter, forasmuch as any other king, grandee, or authority does not ask a matter such as this of any sacred scribe, or magus or Chaldean." ¹¹ The matter that the king is asking is heavy and extraordinary. Actually no other will disclose it before the king, only the elohim whose abode actually is not with any flesh."

²⁷ Answering is Daniel before the king and saying, "The secret which the king is asking, not the wise men, the magi, the sacred scribes, nor the hieromancers can disclose to the king." ²⁸ Actually, the Eloah in the heavens reveals secrets, and He makes known to king Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days. O king, live for the eon! Your dream, even the visions of your head on your bed; it is this:"

⁵ A dream I perceived and it is terrifying me, and portents on my bed, even the visions of my head are flustering me."

⁷ Then went in the sacred scribes, the magi, the Chaldeans and the hieromancers, and I am stating the dream before them, yet its interpretation they did not make known to me."

¹⁹ Then Daniel, whose name is Belteshazzar, is desolated one hour, and his ruminations are flustering him. Responding is the king and saying, "Belteshazzar, the dream and its interpretation must not fluster you.Answering is Belteshazzar and saying, "My lord, the dream be for those hating you, and its interpretation for your foes!"

⁶ Then the king's mien alters and his ruminations are flustering him; the ligaments of his loins loosen up, and his knees are knocking one against the other." ⁷ Calling is the king with potency to bring in the magi, the sacred scribes, the Chaldeans, and the hieromancers. Responding is the king and saying to the wise men of Babylon that, "Any mortal who will read this writing and disclose its interpretation to me shall be clothed in purple, with a circlet of gold about his neck, and as the third one in the kingdom shall he have authority." ⁸ Then going in are all the king's wise men, yet they can not read the writing nor make known its interpretation to the king."

¹¹ Actually, a master is in your kingdom in whom is the spirit of the holy Elohim, and in the days of your grandfather a stream of light and intelligence and wisdom, as the wisdom of the Elohim, was found in him. King Nebuchadnezzar your grandfather set him up to be grandee of the sacred scribes, the magi, the Chaldeans and the hieromancers of your grandfather the king,

²⁸ Furthermore, as this is the termination of the matter, I, Daniel--my ruminations are greatly flustering me, my aspect is altering on me, and I leave the matter in the custody of my heart."

²⁷ When I, Daniel, come to, I am ailing for many days. Then I am rising and doing my work for the king. I am still desolated by the sight, and there is no one who understands."

¹⁶ I heard and my belly is disturbed; at the sound my lips tingled; trembling is coming into my bones, and under me I am disturbed in flesh. I will rest for the day of distress to go up to the people of my sojourning."

¹ Now, at Jesus' being born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, lo! magi from the East came along into Jerusalem,

²² And Moses was trained in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, yet was powerful in his words and works."

¹⁸ Now some of the Epicurean as well as Stoic philosophers parleyed with him, and some said, "Whatever may this rook be wanting to say?Yet others, "He seems to be an announcer of strange demons,seeing that he brought them the evangel of Jesus and the resurrection."

¹⁹ For it is written, I shall be destroying the wisdom of the wise, and the understanding of the intelligent shall I be repudiating."

¹⁸ Let no one be deluding himself. If anyone among you is presuming to be wise in this eon, let him become stupid, that he may be becoming wise, ¹⁹ for the wisdom of this world is stupidity with God. For it is written, "He is clutching the wise in their craftiness." ²⁰ And again, The Lord knows the reasonings of the wise, that they are vain."

¹ And coming is it, after these things, that sinned have the chief cupbearer of the king of Egypt, and the chief baker against their lord, the king of Egypt. ² And wroth is Pharaoh over his two eunuchs, over the chief of the cupbearers and over the chief of the bakers. ³ And giving them is he over in ward in the house of the chief of the executioners, to the round-house, the place where Joseph was bound.

¹⁴ For, remember me should you when it is well with you, then, pray, deal withal in kindness, and mention me to Pharaoh, and bring me forth from this house,

²³ Yet the chief of the cupbearers did not remember Joseph, and forgetting him is he.

³⁶ And the Midianites sell Joseph to Egypt, to Potiphar, a eunuch of Pharaoh, chief of the executioners.

²⁰ And Joseph's lord is taking him and is giving him over to the round-house, the place in which the king's prisoners are bound. And coming is he to be there in the round-house.

⁵ And dreaming are both a dream. Each man has his dream in the same night, each man according to the interpretation of his dream, the chief cupbearer and the chief baker, who are the king of Egypt's who are bound in the round-house. ⁶ And coming to them is Joseph in the morning, and he is seeing them. And, behold! They are turbulent!" ⁷ And asking is he Pharaoh's eunuchs, who are with him in the ward of his lord's house, saying, "For what reason are your faces evil today? ⁸ And saying are they to him, "A dream we dream, and there is no interpreting of it.And saying is Joseph to them, "Do not interpretations belong to the Elohim? Relate them, pray, to me.

¹ And Joseph was brought down to Egypt. And bought is he by Potiphar, a eunuch of Pharaoh, chief of the executioners, an Egyptian man, from the hand of the Ishmaelites who had brought him down there.

¹² And saying to him is Joseph, "This is its interpretation: The three intertwined branches, three days are they. ¹³ In further three days Pharaoh will lift up your head, and restore you to your post, and you shall give Pharaoh's cup into his hand, according to the former custom, by which you became his cupbearer. ¹⁴ For, remember me should you when it is well with you, then, pray, deal withal in kindness, and mention me to Pharaoh, and bring me forth from this house, ¹⁵ for verily, stolen was I from the land of the Hebrews, and moreover, here have I done naught that they should place me in this cistern. ¹⁶ And seeing is the chief of the bakers that he interprets well. And saying is he to Joseph. "Indeed, I dreamed in my dream and, behold! Three days of cereal food is on my head. ¹⁷ And in the uppermost tray are some of all food for Pharaoh, the king, made by baking. And the flyers of the heavens are eating them from the tray, off my head. ¹⁸ And answering is Joseph and saying to him, "This is its interpretation: The three trays, three days are they. ¹⁹ In further three days, lift will Pharaoh your head off of you, and hang you on a tree. And the flyers of the heavens shall eat your flesh off of you.

¹² And saying to him is Joseph, "This is its interpretation: The three intertwined branches, three days are they.

²⁰ And coming is it on the third day, the birthday of Pharaoh, that he is making a feast for all his servants. And lifting up is he the head of the chief of the cupbearers, and the head of the chief of the bakers in the midst of his servants. ²¹ And restoring is he the chief of the cupbearers to his cupbearing, and giving is he the cup into the hand of Pharaoh. ²² Yet the chief of the bakers he hangs, according as Joseph had interpreted to them.

¹⁰ See, I have charged you this day concerning the nations, and concerning the kingdoms, to pluck up, and to break down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant.'"

³ And according to the appearance [is] the appearance that I saw, as the appearance that I saw in my coming in to destroy the city, and the appearances [are] as the appearance that I saw at the river Chebar, and I fall on my face."

¹⁶ Now Pharaoh hastened to call for Moses and for Aaron and said: I have sinned against Yahweh your Elohim and against you.

⁷ Yahweh dispossesses, and He makes rich, He makes low, yea, He makes high. ⁸ He raises from the dust the poor, From a dunghill He lifts up the needy, To cause [them] to sit with nobles, Yea, a throne of honor He does cause them to inherit, For to Yahweh [are] the fixtures of earth, And He sets on them the habitable world.

²⁴ And Mephibosheth son of Saul has come down to meet the king--and he prepared not his feet, nor did he prepare his upper lip, yea, his garments he washed not, even from the day of the going away of the king, till the day that he came in peace-.

²⁹ and has changed the garments of his restraint, and he has eaten bread continually before him all days of his life,

¹ When Mordecai got knowledge of everything that had been done, Mordecai tore his clothes and put on sackcloth and ashes. Then he went forth into the midst of the city and cried out with a loud and bitter outcry, ² until he came before the king's gateway (for no one was to come into the king's gateway in clothing of sackcloth). ³ Also, in every place of the different provinces to which the king's order and his edict were attaining, there was great mourning among the Jews, with fasting and lamentation and wailing. Sackcloth and ashes became a berth for many. ⁴ When Esther's maidens and her eunuchs came and told her, the queen was in intense mental travail; then she sent clothes for Mordecai to put on and to take off his sackcloth from him; but he was not receptive to her proposal.

¹ It was on the third day that Esther put on royal clothing and took her stand in the inner court of the king's house, over against the king's house, while the king was sitting on his royal throne in the royal house, over against the portal of the house.

¹⁹ Until the era when His word came to pass, When the saying of Yahweh had refined him." ²⁰ The king sent and let him loose; The ruler of the peoples opened his way. ²¹ He constituted him lord over his house And ruler among all his acquisitions, ²² To discipline his chiefs at his soul's desire, So that he should make his elders wise."

⁷ Raising the poor from the soil, He exalts the needy from the ash heaps, ⁸ Giving a seat among the patrons, Among the patrons of his people,

³ to give rejoicing to the mourners of Zion, to give to them beauty instead of ashes, the oil of elation instead of mourning, the muffler of praise instead of dimness of spirit. And they are called arbiters of righteousness, the planting of Yahweh, to beautify Himself."

¹⁰ With elation will I be elated in Yahweh. My soul shall exult in my Elohim. For he clothes me with the garments of salvation, and in the robe of righteousness will He muffle me, as a bridegroom with a priestly beautiful turban, and as a bride is ornamenting herself with her outfit."

³² and speaks with him good things, and sets his throne above the throne of the kings who [are] with him in Babylon, ³³ and he has changed his prison garments, and he has eaten bread before him continually, all the days of his life."

²⁵ Then Arioch, in a fluster, brings Daniel in before the king and says to him, "I have found a wise master of the sons of the deportation of Judah who will make known the interpretation to the king."

⁹ And speaking is the chief of the cupbearers to Pharaoh, saying, "Of my sin am I reminded today. ¹⁰ Pharaoh was wroth with his servants, and gave us in ward in the house of the chief of the executioners, me and the chief of the bakers. ¹¹ And dreaming are we a dream in the same night, I and he. Each man dreamed according to the interpretation of his dream. ¹² And there with us was a Hebrew lad, a servant of the chief of the executioners. And we related them to him and he is interpreting for us our dreams. For each man, according to his dream, he interpreted. ¹³ And coming is it that, as he interpreted to us, so it comes to be. Me he restores to my post, and him he hanged.

¹² forasmuch as an excellent spirit, knowledge and intelligence in the interpreting of dreams, the disclosure of problems and the untying of knots was found in him, that is in Daniel on whom the king placed his name Belteshazzar. Now Daniel shall be called, and he will disclose the interpretation."

¹⁶ Yet I hear concerning you that you can interpret interpretations and untie knots. Now, if you can read the writing and make known to me its interpretation, in purple shall you be clothed, with a circlet of gold about your neck, and as the third one in the kingdom shall you have authority."

¹⁴ And saying to him is Israel, "Go, pray, and see if it is well with your brothers, and well with the flock, and return me word.And sending him is he from the vale of Hebron. And coming is he to Shechem.

⁶ He said:Oh hear My words. If there were a prophet among you, I, Yahweh, in an appearance shall make Myself known to him; in a dream shall I speak to him.

²⁷ And he said, `Yahweh does not save you--whence do I save you? out of the threshing-floor, or out of the wine-vat?.

¹⁸ He is charging them to petition for compassions before the Eloah of the heavens concerning this secret; that Daniel and his partners not perish with the remaining wise men of Babylon. ¹⁹ Then to Daniel in a vision that night, the secret of the king is revealed. Then Daniel blesses the Eloah of the heavens." ²⁰ Responding is Daniel and saying, "Blessed be the name of Him Who is the Eloah, from the eon and unto the eon, for the wisdom and the mastery, they are His." ²¹ He is altering the eras and the stated times, causing kings to pass away and causing kings to rise, granting wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those knowing understanding." ²² He is revealing the deep and the concealed things; knowing what is in the darkness since with Him a stream of light solves them. ²³ To Thee, Eloah of my forefathers, am I acclaiming and lauding, that wisdom and mastery Thou dost grant to me. And now Thou dost make known to me that which we petition of Thee; for the king's matter Thou hast made known to us."

²⁸ Actually, the Eloah in the heavens reveals secrets, and He makes known to king Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days. O king, live for the eon! Your dream, even the visions of your head on your bed; it is this:" ²⁹ You, O king--your ruminations on your bed come up regarding all that shall be after this. The Revealer of secrets makes known to you what that shall be." ³⁰ And I--this secret is revealed to me not by wisdom actually in me more than any other of the living. It is revealed only to the intent that the interpretation to the king be made known, and that you shall know the ruminations of your heart."

⁴⁷ Answering is the king to Daniel and saying, "In verity, your Eloah, He is the Eloah of elohim, Lord of kings, and only Revealer of hidden secrets, seeing that you can reveal this secret."

² The signs and the amazing deeds that the Supreme Eloah does with me, it is seemly before me to disclose to you:"

⁴² saying that, "If you knew, even you, and surely in this day, what is for your peace-! Yet now it was hid from your eyes,

⁷ And seizing his right hand, he raises him up. Now instantly his insteps and ankles were given stability,

¹² Now, perceiving it, Peter answers the people: "Men! Israelites! Why are you marveling at this? Or why at us are you looking so intently, as if by our own power or devoutness we had made him walk?

¹⁴ Now, on hearing this, the apostles Barnabas and Paul, tearing their garments, spring out into the throng, crying" ¹⁵ and saying, "Men! Why are you doing these things? We also are men, of like emotions as you, bringing the evangel to you to turn you back from these vain things to the living God, Who makes heaven and the earth and the sea and all that is in them,

¹⁰ Yet, in the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace, which is in me, did not come to be for naught, but more exceedingly than all of them toil I - yet not I, but the grace of God which is with me."

⁵ (not that we are competent of ourselves, to reckon anything as of ourselves, but our competency is of God),

¹ Yahweh has showed me, and lo, two baskets of figs, appointed before the temple of Yahweh, --after the removing by Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, of Jeconiah, son of Jehoiakim king of Judah, and the heads of Judah, and the artisan, and the smith, from Jerusalem, when he brings them into Babylon--" ² In the one basket [are] figs very good, like the first-ripe figs, and in the other basket [are] figs very bad, that are not eaten for badness." ³ And Yahweh said unto me, `What are you seeing, Jeremiah?' and I say, `Figs, the good figs [are] very good, and the bad [are] very bad, that are not eaten for badness.'"

⁵ Thus said Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, Like these good figs so do I acknowledge The removed of Judah--that I sent from this place, [To] the land of the Chaldeans--for good."

⁸ And like the bad figs, that are not eaten for badness, Surely thus said Yahweh:So do I make Zedekiah king of Judah, And his heads, and the remnant of Jerusalem, Who are left in this land, And who are dwelling in the land of Egypt,

¹⁹ They shall not be ashamed in an evil season, And in days of famine, they shall be satisfied."

²⁰ And he will sever on the right, yet is famishing, and he will eat on the left, yet is not satisfied. A man will eat the flesh of his arm."

³ And He said unto me, `Son of man, your belly you do feed, and your bowels you do fill with this roll that I am giving unto you;' and I eat it, and it is in my mouth as honey for sweetness."

⁹ And I came away to the messenger, saying to him to give me the tiny scroll. And he is saying to me, "Take it and devour it; and it will be making your bowels bitter, but in your mouth it will be sweet as honey." ¹⁰ And I got the tiny scroll out of the hand of the messenger, and devoured it. And in my mouth it was sweet as honey. And when I ate it, my bowels were made bitter."

⁶ And behold! Seven other spikes, thin and blasted by the burning east wind are sprouting after them.

²⁶ And their inhabitants [are] feeble-handed, They were broken down, and are dried up, They have been the herb of the field, And the greenness of the tender grass, Grass of the roofs, And blasted corn--before it has risen up!"

⁶ They shall become like grass on the housetops, Which dries up before it unfurls, ⁷ With which neither the one reaping can fill his palm, Nor the one binding sheaves his bosom pouch."

⁷ For they are sowing the wind, and they shall reap the sweeping whirlwind. There is no raised grain for him; the sprout shall fail to yield meal; perhaps it shall yield, but then aliens shall swallow it down."

¹⁶ Smitten is Ephraim. Their root is dry; fruit shall they fail to yield. Moreover, in case they shall generate, then I will put to death the coveted ones of their belly."

⁸ And coming is it in the morning that agitated is his spirit, and sending is he and calling all the sacred scribes of Egypt and all the wise men. And relating is Pharaoh to them his dream. Yet no one is there to interpret it for Pharaoh.

¹⁹ The sacred scribes said to Pharaoh: This is the finger of Elohim! Yet the heart of Pharaoh was steadfast, and he did not hearken to them just as Yahweh had spoken.

¹⁶ And answering Pharaoh is Joseph saying, "Apart from the Elohim there is no answer for the welfare of Pharaoh.

¹⁴ For at this time I am sending all My strokes onto your heart and your servants and your people in order that you shall know that there is no one such as Me in the entire earth.

⁶ And Yahweh said unto Joshua, `Be not afraid of their presence, for to-morrow about this time I am giving all of them wounded before Israel; their horses you do hough, and their chariots burn with fire..

² Yahweh has made known His salvation; To the eyes of the nations He has revealed His righteousness.

²² Let them bring them close, and tell us what will happen. The former things, what they were, let them tell. And We will set our heart on them and know their hereafter. Or the coming things announce to Us." ²³ Tell what will arrive hereafter, and we will know that you are elohim. Indeed, you will do good and do evil. Then will we heed and see it together!"

⁹ All the nations are convened together, and gathered shall be the folkstems. Who among them will tell this, and former things will announce to Us? They will give their testimonies and be just. And they will hear and say, `Truth.'"

⁴⁵ Forasmuch as you perceived that a stone severs itself from a mountain range, that is, not by hands, and it pulverizes the iron, the copper, the clay, the silver, and the gold, the great Eloah makes known to the king what shall occur after this. Certain is the dream and faithful its interpretation."

⁷ For my Lord Yahweh is not doing a thing save He reveals His deliberation to His servants, the prophets."

⁴⁰ Then two shall be in the field; one is taken along and one left:

²³ Now you, beware! Lo! I have declared it all to you beforehand."

¹⁷ that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may be giving you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the realization of Him,

¹ After these things I perceived, and lo! a door is open in heaven, and lo! the first sound which I hear is as a trumpet speaking with me, saying, "Come up here! and I will be showing you what must be occurring after these things."

²⁴ Therefore a man shall forsake his father and his mother and cling to his wife, and they two become one flesh.

¹⁸ And answering is Joseph and saying to him, "This is its interpretation: The three trays, three days are they.

² And, behold! From the waterway are coming up seven young cows, lovely in appearance and plump of flesh. And grazing are they in the marsh grass.

⁵ And sleeping is he and dreaming a second time. And, behold! Seven spikes are coming up on one reed, plump and good.

²⁹ Behold! Seven years are coming of great satisfaction in all the land of Egypt.

⁴⁷ And yielding is the land in the seven years of satisfaction, by fistfuls.

⁵³ And concluding are the seven years of satisfaction, which come to be in the land of Egypt,

¹¹ And thus shall you eat it, with your waist girded, your sandals on your feet and your stick in your hand. You will eat it in nervous haste. It is the passover to Yahweh.

⁶ Then you will make fifty links of gold, and join the sheets, each to its fellow, by the links; and the tabernacle will come to be one.

⁴ and all drank the same spiritual drink, for they drank of the spiritual Rock which followed. Now the Rock was Christ."

⁷ seeing that three there are that are testifying,

¹⁹ and David goes up, according to the word of Gad, as Yahweh commanded.

¹ And Elisha spoke unto the woman whose son he had revived, saying, `Rise and go, you and your household, and sojourn where you do sojourn, for Yahweh has called for a famine, and also, it is coming unto the land seven years..

²⁵ And saying is Joseph to Pharaoh, "The dream of Pharaoh, one is it. What the Elohim will be doing He tells to Pharaoh. ²⁶ The seven good young cows, seven years are they; and the seven good spikes, seven years are they. The dream of Pharaoh, one is it.

⁴⁶ And Joseph is thirty years old when he stands before Pharaoh, king of Egypt. And forth is Joseph faring from the face of Pharaoh, and passing through all the land of Egypt. ⁴⁷ And yielding is the land in the seven years of satisfaction, by fistfuls.

⁴⁹ And heaping up is Joseph cereals as the sand of the sea, multiplied exceedingly furthermore, so that he leaves off numbering, for there is no numbering it.

²¹ and coming are they into their inwards, yet not known is it that they come into their inwards, and their appearance is evil, as at the start. And awaking am I.

²⁷ And the seven emaciated and evil young cows coming up after them, seven years are they. And the seven empty spikes, blasted by the burning east wind, are coming to be seven years of famine.

⁵¹ And calling is Joseph the name of the firstborn Manasseh, for "the Elohim makes me oblivious of all my toil and all my father's household.

⁵⁴ and starting to come are the seven years of famine, as Joseph had said. And coming is the famine in all the lands, yet in all the land of Egypt there comes to be bread.

⁵⁶ And the famine comes to be on the surface of all the earth. And opening is Joseph all the cereal stores which are among them, and is retailing to all Egypt. And the famine is holding fast in the land of Egypt.

¹³ And bread there is none in all the land, for heavy is the famine exceedingly, and frantic is the land of Egypt and the land of Canaan in view of the famine.

¹³ And Gad comes in unto David, and declares to him, and said to him, `Do seven years of famine come in to you in your land? or three months are you fleeing before your adversary--and he pursuing you? or are three days' pestilence in your land? now, know and see what word I take back to Him sending me..

¹ And Elijah the Tishbite, of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, `Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, lives, before whom I have stood, there is not these years dew and rain, except according to my word..

¹⁶ He called forth a famine on the earth; He broke off the entire stock of bread.

⁷ Let him drink and forget his destitution, And let him remember his misery no further."

¹⁶ The one blessing himself in the land, shall bless himself by the Elohim of truth, and the one swearing in the land, shall swear by the Elohim of truth. "For forgotten are the former distresses, for they are concealed also from My eyes."

²⁵ Now of a truth I am saying to you, that many widows were in Israel in the days of Elijah, when heaven is locked for three years and six months, as a great famine came to be over the entire land,

¹⁷ Elijah was a man of like emotions with us, and he prays in prayer for it not to rain, and it does not rain on the land three years and six months."

⁶ And the hand of Yahweh is heavy on the Ashdodites, and He makes them desolate, and smites them with emerods, Ashdod and its borders.

²⁰ Swayed by swaying is the earth. And it staggers as a drunkard, and it wanders as a mariner, and its transgression is heavy upon it. And it falls, and is not proceeding to rise."

⁷ And, behold! We are compressing shocks in the midst of the field. And behold! Rising is my shock, and, moreover, takes its station. And, behold! Surrounding it are your shocks, and prostrating to my shock!"

⁹ And dreaming is he still another dream. And relating is he it to his father and to his brothers, and is saying, "Behold! I dream a further dream. And behold! The sun and the moon and the eleven stars are prostrating to me.

¹⁹ El is not a man that He should lie. Nor a son of humanity that He should feel regret. Does He say it and then not do it? Or speak and then not carry it out?

¹⁴ Indeed El does speak once, And twice, yet no one regards it, ¹⁵ In a dream, a vision of the night, When stupor falls upon men, In slumberings on their bed;"

²⁴ Sworn has Yahweh of hosts, saying, "Should it not, as I likened it, so come to be, and as I counseled it, be arising? ²⁵ To break the Assyrian in My land, and on My mountains will I trample him. And he withdraws his yoke from upon them, and his burden shall he withdraw from upon their shoulder." ²⁶ This is the counsel counseled by Yahweh over the entire earth, and this is the hand stretched out over all the nations of the habitance." ²⁷ For Yahweh of hosts has counseled, and who will annul it? And His hand is outstretched, and who will reverse it?

³³ for arranged since yesterday was the pyre. Moreover it is prepared, yea prepared, for the king, He deepens, He widens its abode for fire and much wood. The breath of Yahweh, as a watercourse of sulphur, is consuming in it."

¹⁰ Telling from the beginning, the hereafter, and from aforetime, what has not yet been done. Saying, `All My counsel shall be confirmed, and all My desire will I do.'" ¹¹ Calling from the sunrise, a bird of prey, from a land far off, the man of My counsel. Indeed, I speak! Indeed, I will bring it about! I formed. Indeed, I will do it."

³⁵ Heaven and earth shall be passing by, yet My words may by no means be passing by."

³⁴ Then shall the King be declaring to those at His right, 'Hither, blessed of My Father! Enjoy the allotment of the kingdom made ready for you from the disruption of the world."

⁴¹ Then shall He be declaring to those also at His left, 'Go from Me, you cursed, into the fire eonian, made ready for the Adversary and his messengers."

⁴⁰ Yet to be seated at My right or at My left is not Mine to give, but is for whom it has been made ready by My Father."

⁹ But, according as it is written, That which the eye did not perceive, and the ear did not hear, and to which the heart of man did not ascend - whatever God makes ready for those who are loving Him."

¹ Lo! This is the third time I am coming to you. At the mouth of two witnesses, and three, shall every declaration be made to stand. "

¹⁵ And loosed were the four messengers, made ready for the hour, and day, and month, and year, that they should be killing a third of mankind."

³⁹ And saying is Pharaoh to Joseph, "After the Elohim has made known to you all this, there is no one as understanding and wise as you.

¹⁹ Now, hearken to my voice. Let me counsel you, and may Elohim come to be with you. Be you for the people toward the One, Elohim, and you bring the matters to the One, Elohim. ²⁰ You will warn them with the statutes and the laws and make known to them the way in which they shall go and the deeds which they shall do. ²¹ Now you shall perceive among all the people men of ability, fearful of Elohim, men of truth, hating gain. You will place these over them as chiefs of thousands, chiefs of hundreds, chiefs of fifties and chiefs of tens. ²² And they will judge the people in every season. Yet it will be that every great matter of dispute they shall bring to you, and every small matter shall they judge themselves. Lighten yourself from what is on you, and they will bear it with you.

¹³ Grant yourselves men wise and understanding, and known to your tribes, that I may place them as your heads.

²⁷ Only, O king, may my counsel to you be seemly:Break off your sins by being just, and your depravities by being gracious to the humble, in case your days of ease should be lengthened."

³ Now, brethren, pick out seven attested men from among you, full of the spirit and of wisdom, whom we will place over this need."

¹⁴ Moses was wrathful with the officers of the army, chiefs of the thousands and chiefs of the hundreds, coming back from the militia host of the war.

¹¹ And the runners stand, each with his weapons in his hand, from the right shoulder of the house unto the left shoulder of the house, by the altar and by the house, by the king round about;" ¹² and he brings out the son of the king, and puts on him the crown, and the testimony, and they make him king, and anoint him, and smite the hand, and say, `Let the king live..

¹² And the men are working faithfully in the business, and over them are appointed Jahath and Obadiah, the Levites, of the sons of Merari, and Zechariah and Meshullam, of the sons of the Kohathite, to overlook; and of the Levites, every one understanding about instruments of song,

⁹ And Joel son of Zichri [is] inspector over them, and Judah son of Senuah [is] over the city--second.

²⁰ In famine, He will ransom you from death, And in battle from the hands of the sword.

¹⁹ To rescue their soul from death And to preserve them alive in famine.

⁶ Go to the ant, O slothful one; See its ways and be wise;" ⁷ Note that there is no captain for it, Superintendent or ruler;" ⁸ Yet it is preparing its bread in summer; It hoards its food at harvest.

⁴⁸ And getting together is he all the food of the seven years of satisfaction which come to be in the land of Egypt. And bestowing is he the food in the cities. The food of the field of the city which surrounds it, he bestows in its midst. ⁴⁹ And heaping up is Joseph cereals as the sand of the sea, multiplied exceedingly furthermore, so that he leaves off numbering, for there is no numbering it.

⁶ For this two years the famine is within the land, and there are still five years in which there is no plowing or harvesting. ⁷ And sending me is the Elohim before you to constitute you a remnant in the earth and to preserve your lives for a great deliverance.

¹³ Yet he said: O, my Lord! Send, I pray, by the hand of whomsoever You should send.

¹³ And bread there is none in all the land, for heavy is the famine exceedingly, and frantic is the land of Egypt and the land of Canaan in view of the famine. ¹⁴ And gleaning is Joseph all the money found in the land of Egypt and in the land of Canaan for the victuals which they are purchasing for their ration. And bringing is Joseph all the money to Pharaoh's house. ¹⁵ And spent is all the money in the land of Egypt and in the land of Canaan. And coming are all in Egypt to Joseph, saying, "Grant us bread! Why should we die in front of you? For the limit of our money has been reached. ¹⁶ And saying is Joseph, "Grant your cattle, and give it will I to you, bread for your cattle, if the money reaches its limit. ¹⁷ And bringing are they their cattle to Joseph, and giving is Joseph to them bread for horses, and for cattle of the flocks, and for cattle of the herds, and for asses. And sustaining them is he with bread, and fodder for all their cattle in that year. ¹⁸ And spent is that year. And coming are they to him in the second year, and saying to him, "Not suppress will we from my lord that spent is the money, and the cattle and the beasts belong to my lord, then nothing remains before my lord, barring our bodies and our ground. ¹⁹ Why shall we die before your eyes and our ground be desolate? Buy us and our ground with bread, and we and our ground will become servants of Pharaoh. And give seed for sowing and we shall live and not die, and the ground will not be desolate. ²⁰ And buying is Joseph all the ground of Egypt for Pharaoh, for the Egyptians sell to Pharaoh each man his field, seeing that a fast hold has the famine over them. And coming is the land to be Pharaoh's. ²¹ And the people are made to serve him as servants from one end of Egypt's boundary unto its other end. ²² But the ground of the priests alone, this Joseph does not buy, for there is a statutory dole for the priests from Pharaoh, and they eat the statutory dole which Pharaoh gives to them. Therefore they did not sell their ground. ²³ And saying is Joseph to all the Egyptians, "Behold! Buy do I you today, with your ground, for Pharaoh. Lo! for you there is seed, and sow shall you the ground. ²⁴ And it comes, of the incomes, you give the fifth handful to Pharaoh, and four handfuls shall become yours, for seed for the field, and for your food, and for all who are in your household, and for food for your tots. ²⁵ And saying are they, "Preserving are you our lives. Finding are we grace in the eyes of my lord, and we become Pharaoh's servants.

³⁰ And Phinehas the priest, and the princes of the company, and the heads of the thousands of Israel, who [are] with him, hear the words which the sons of Reuben, and the sons of Gad, and the sons of Manasseh have spoken, and it is good in their eyes.

³⁶ And all the people have discerned [it], and it is good in their eyes, as all that the king has done is good in the eyes of all the people;"

² and Ahab speaks unto Naboth, saying, `Give to me your vineyard, and it is to me for a garden of green herbs, for it [is] near by my house, and I give to you in its stead a better vineyard than it; if good in your eyes, I give to you silver--its price..

¹⁸ Yahweh said to Moses:Take to you Joshua son of Nun, a man in whom there is spirit, and support your hands on him;"

⁸ But surely it is the spirit in a mortal, And the breath of Him Who Suffices that gives them understanding.

⁶ Then from me a decree was promulgated to bring in before me all the wise men of Babylon, that the interpretation of the dream they shall make known to me."

⁸ Further, last of all, Daniel comes in before me, whose name is Belteshazzar, after the name of my eloah. Now, seeing that the spirit of the holy Elohim is in him, I state the dream before him also:" ⁹ Belteshazzar, grandee of the sacred scribes, seeing that I know that the spirit of the holy Elohim is in you, and no secret at all bothers you, hear the visions of my dream that I perceived, and state its interpretation to me."

¹⁸ This dream, I, king Nebuchadnezzar, perceived. Now you, Belteshazzar, state the interpretation, forasmuch as all the wise men of my kingdom can not make known to me the interpretation. Yet you Daniel can, seeing that the spirit of the holy Elohim is in you."

¹⁴ I hear concerning you that the spirit of the holy Elohim is in you, and a stream of light and intelligence and excellent wisdom is found in you."

³ Then this Daniel is set permanently over the chancellors and satraps, forasmuch as an excellent spirit is in him; moreover the king reflects whether to set him up over all the kingdom."

²⁸ It is the word which I speak to Pharaoh: What the Elohim will do He shows to Pharaoh.

³³ And now, see will Pharaoh to a man of understanding and wisdom, and set him over the land of Egypt.

⁴ And finding is Joseph grace in the eyes of his lord, and ministering is he to him. And making him is he supervisor over his household, and all, forsooth, which is his he gives into Joseph's hand. ⁵ And coming is it, since he makes him supervisor in his house and over all, forsooth, that is his, that Yahweh is blessing the Egyptian's household due to Joseph, and coming is Yahweh's blessing to be over all, forsooth, which is his, in the house and in the field. ⁶ And leaving is he all that is his in the hand of Joseph. And naught knows he of his, save the bread which he is eating. And coming is Joseph to have a lovely shape and a lovely appearance.

⁸ And now, not you send me hither, for it was the Elohim. And constituting me is He a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his household, and ruler in all the land of Egypt. ⁹ Hasten and go up to my father, and say to him, `Thus says your son Joseph, "The Elohim has constituted me lord of all the land of Egypt. Come down to me. You must not stay there.

²⁶ And telling him are they, saying, "Still is your son, Joseph, living!"And that "he is ruling in all the land of Egypt!"Yet so torpid is Jacob's heart that he does not believe them.

¹ And Samuel takes the vial of the oil, and pours on his head, and kisses him, and said, `Is it not because Yahweh has appointed you over His inheritance for leader?

²⁷ So that my heart was enticed in secret, And my hand kissed my mouth,

¹² Bear admonition lest He should be angry, And you should perish in the way, For His anger shall consume speedily. Happy are all those taking refuge in Him.

²⁹ Do you perceive a man who is expert in his work? He shall station himself before kings; By no means shall he station himself before obscure men.

⁴⁶ Then king Nebuchadnezzar falls on his face and worships Daniel, and he says an approach present and incense of attainment are to be libated to him." ⁴⁷ Answering is the king to Daniel and saying, "In verity, your Eloah, He is the Eloah of elohim, Lord of kings, and only Revealer of hidden secrets, seeing that you can reveal this secret." ⁴⁸ Then the king made much of Daniel:he grants to him immense, huge gifts; and gives him authority over all the province of Babylon; and makes him grandee of the prefects who are over all the wise men of Babylon."

²⁹ Then, at Belshazzar's order, they clothe Daniel in purple, with a circlet of gold about his neck, and they proclaim concerning him that he is the third authority in the kingdom."

⁵ And coming is it, since he makes him supervisor in his house and over all, forsooth, that is his, that Yahweh is blessing the Egyptian's household due to Joseph, and coming is Yahweh's blessing to be over all, forsooth, which is his, in the house and in the field.

²² And the chief of the round-house is giving into the hand of Joseph all the prisoners who are in the round-house. And all that is being done there, he comes to be the doer.

⁴⁴ And saying is Pharaoh to Joseph, "I am Pharaoh, and apart from you shall no man raise his hand or his foot in all the land of Egypt.

⁶ And Joseph, he has authority over the land. He is the retailer to all the people of the land. And coming are the brothers of Joseph and prostrating to him, nostrils to the earth.

³ For Mordecai the Jew was second to king Xerxes and towering among the Jews and held dear by many of his brothers; he sought after the good for his people and spoke up for the welfare of all his seed.

² An intelligent servant rules over a son who causes shame And is apportioned an allotment in the midst of the brothers.

⁷ They answer a second time and are saying, "The king will state the dream to his servants, then the interpretation will we disclose." ⁸ Answering is the king and saying, "I know for certain that you would gain time, forasmuch as you perceive that the matter is departing from me."

² The signs and the amazing deeds that the Supreme Eloah does with me, it is seemly before me to disclose to you:" ³ His signs how immense, and His amazing deeds how mighty! His kingdom is an eonian kingdom, and His jurisdiction is with generation after generation."

¹⁸ And, approaching, Jesus speaks to them saying, "Given to Me was all authority in heaven and on the earth."

⁹ Wherefore, also, God highly exalts Him, and graces Him with the name that is above every name, ¹⁰ that in the name of Jesus every knee should be bowing, celestial and terrestrial and subterranean, ¹¹ and every tongue should be acclaiming that Jesus Christ is Lord, for the glory of God, the Father."

¹⁰ So the king withdrew his ring from his hand and gave it to Haman son of Hammedatha the Agagite, the foe of the Jews.

¹² Then the king's scribes were called in the first month, on the thirteenth day of it. According to all the instructions that Haman had given, it was written to the king's satraps, to the viceroys who were over the different provinces, and to the chief officials of the different peoples, to each province in its own provincial writing, and to each people in its own popular tongue. It was written in the name of king Xerxes and was sealed with the king's ring.

⁷ So Haman said to the king:For the man in whose esteem the king has taken a delight, ⁸ let them bring out royal garment with which the king has clothed himself, and a horse on which the king has ridden, with the royal diadem that has been placed on its head. ⁹ Then may the garment and horse be put at the hand of one of the king's highborn chief officials, and let him clothe the man in whose esteem the king has taken a delight, and parade him on the horse in the city square, while proclaiming before him:Thus is it done to the man in whose esteem the king has taken a delight. ¹⁰ Then the king commanded Haman:Make haste and take the garment and the horse, just as you have said, and deal in this way with Mordecai the Jew who is sitting in the king's gateway. You must not omit anything of all that you have spoken. ¹¹ So Haman took the garment and the horse, clothed Mordecai and paraded him in the city square while he proclaimed before him:Thus is it done to the man in whose esteem the king has taken a delight. ¹² Then Mordecai returned to the king's gateway. As for Haman, he went posthaste to his house, mournful with hooded head.

² The king took off his ring that he had reclaimed from Haman and bestowed it on Mordecai; and Esther appointed Mordecai to oversee Haman's house.

⁸ As for you, write on behalf of the Jews as seems best in your eyes. Write in the king's name and seal it with the king's ring. (For a writing which is written in the king's name and sealed with the king's ring can not be reversed..

¹⁰ Mordecai wrote in the name of King Xerxes, sealed with the king's ring and sent letters by means of couriers on horseback, riding the stallions of the royal service, those bred of its stud-mares.

¹⁵ As for Mordecai, he went forth from before the king in royal garment of blue and pale, wearing a magnified coronet of gold and a cloak of fine linen and purple wool. And Susa city was noisy with rejoicing.

⁹ For they are a wreath of grace for your head, And necklaces for your throat."

²² She makes decorative covers for herself; Her clothing is cambric and purple.

²⁴ She makes shirts and sells them, And she produces girdles for the trafficker."

¹⁰ Your cheeks are comely with bead-rows, Your neck with threaded gems."

¹⁰ And I clothe you with embroidery, And I shoe you with badger's skin, And I gird you with fine linen, And I cover you with figured silk." ¹¹ And I adorn you with adornments, And I give bracelets for your hands, And a chain for your neck."

⁷ Of fine linen with embroidery from Egypt has been your sail, To be to you for an ensign, Of blue and purple from isles of Elishah has been your covering."

⁷ Calling is the king with potency to bring in the magi, the sacred scribes, the Chaldeans, and the hieromancers. Responding is the king and saying to the wise men of Babylon that, "Any mortal who will read this writing and disclose its interpretation to me shall be clothed in purple, with a circlet of gold about his neck, and as the third one in the kingdom shall he have authority."

²² Yet the father said to his slaves, 'Quick! Bring forth the first robe, and put it on him, and give him a ring for his hand and sandals for his feet."

¹⁶ Now along came the first, saying, 'Lord, your mina earns ten minas.'" ¹⁷ And he said to him, 'Well done, surely, good slave! Seeing that you became faithful in the least, be having authority over ten cities.'" ¹⁸ And the second came, saying, 'Your mina, lord, makes five minas.'" ¹⁹ Now he said to this one also, 'And you, be over five cities.'"

³⁰ The man, the lord of the land, spoke to us obstinately, and gave us over in ward as spies of the land.

³³ And saying to us is the man, the lord of the land, `By this shall I know that you are established. Your brothers, one leave be with me. And the victuals you have purchased for the famine of your households, take and go.

¹⁸ And Melchizedek, king of Salem, brings forth bread and wine.

²⁰ And sons are born to Joseph in the land of Egypt, whom Asenath, daughter of Potiphera, priest of On, bears for him, Manasseh and Ephraim. And the sons are born to Manasseh, whom a Syrian concubine bears for him, Machir. And Machir begets Galaad. And the sons of Ephraim, Manasseh's brother: Soutalaam and Taam. And the son of Soutalaam: Edem.

¹⁶ Now the priest of Midian had seven daughters, and they came, drew out water and filled the troughs to let their father's flock drink.

¹⁸ and Benaiah son of Jehoiada [is over] both the Cherethite and the Pelethite, and the sons of David have been ministers.

²⁶ and also, Ira the Jairite has been minister to David.

²⁸ Now one of them, named Agabus, rising, signifies through the spirit, the great famine which is about to be on the whole inhabited earth, which occurred under Claudius."

² These are the genealogical annals of Jacob. Joseph, seventeen years of age, comes to be grazing the flock with his brothers, and he, the lad, is with the sons of Bilhah and the sons of Zilpah, wives of his father. And bringing is Joseph their evil mutterings to Israel, their father.

³⁶ Now be vigilant, on every occasion beseeching that you may be prevailing to escape all these things which are about to occur, and to stand in front of the Son of Mankind."

²⁴ Now to Him Who is able to guard you from tripping, and to stand you flawless in sight of His glory, in exultation,

¹² And sowing is Isaac in that land and is finding in that year a hundredfold of barley. And blessing him is Yahweh.

¹⁶ There shall come to be a plenitude of cereal in the earth to the summit of the mountains. Its fruit shall rustle like Lebanon, And they of the city shall blossom like herbage of the earth."

³⁴ Doing this will Pharaoh, and he will give the supervision to supervisors over the land and a fifth of all the produce of the land of Egypt will they take in the seven years of satisfaction. ³⁵ And get together shall they all the food of these seven coming good years, and heap up cereals under the hand of Pharaoh for food in the cities, and keep it. ³⁶ And the food shall come to be supervised in the land for the seven years of the famine which shall come to be in the land of Egypt, and so the land shall not be cut off by the famine.

¹⁷ that, blessing, yea, blessing you am I, and increasing, yea, increasing your seed am I as the stars of the heavens and as the sand which is on the sea shore. And your seed shall tenant the gateway of its enemies,

⁵ for they and their cattle come up, with their tents; they come in as the fulness of the locust for multitude, and of them and of their cattle there is no number, and they come into the land to destroy it.

¹² and Midian and Amalek, and all the sons of the east are lying in the valley, as the locust for multitude, and of their camels there is no number, as sand which [is] on the sea-shore for multitude.

⁵ And the Philistines have been gathered to fight with Israel; thirty thousand chariots, and six thousand horsemen, and a people as the sand which [is] on the sea-shore for multitude; and they come up and encamp in Michmash, east of Beth-Aven.

³ and his acquisitions came to be a flock of seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels, five hundred pair of oxen and five hundred jennies, besides very many servants. And this man came to be the greatest of all the sons of the East.

²⁷ So He rained meat on them like soil dust, And the winged flyer like sand of the seas."

²² As the host of the heavens is not numbered, Nor the sand of the sea measured, So I multiply the seed of David My servant, And the Levites My ministers.'"

⁴⁵ And calling is Pharaoh Joseph's name Zaphnath-paaneah. And giving him is he Asenath, daughter of Potiphera, priest of On, for a wife. And forth is Joseph faring over the land of Egypt.

⁵ And now your two sons, born to you in the land of Egypt previous to my coming to you to Egypt, mine are they, Ephraim and Manasseh. As Reuben and as Simeon, shall they become mine.

³⁰ Yet rise will seven years of famine after them. And forgotten will be all the satisfaction in all the land of Egypt, and finish will the famine the land.

¹³ And taking is Joseph the two, Ephraim on his right at Israel's left, and Manasseh on his left at Israel's right, and is bringing them close to him. ¹⁴ And stretching out is Israel his right hand and is setting it on Ephraim's head, when he is the inferior in station, and his left on Manasseh's head, using his hands intelligently, for Manasseh is the firstborn.

¹⁸ And saying is Joseph to his father, "Not so, my father, for this is the firstborn. Place your right on his head. ¹⁹ And refusing is his father and saying, "I know, my son! I know! Moreover, he shall become a people, and he shall become great. Howbeit, his smaller brother shall be greater than he. And his seed shall become a fullness of the nations. ²⁰ And blessing them is he in that day, saying, "By you shall Israel bless, saying, "The Elohim make you as Ephraim and as Manasseh!.And placing is he Ephraim before Manasseh.

¹⁷ as the firstborn of his kine brings honor to him, and his horns are the horns of the wild bull. With them he shall gore the peoples altogether, to the limits of the earth. Those are the myriads of Ephraim, and those are the thousands of Manasseh.

⁵ For there is only a moment under His anger But a lifetime under His benevolence. In the evening, lamentation may lodge, But in the morning there is jubilant song."

¹¹ You have turned my wailing into fluting for me. You have unloosed my sackcloth And are belting me with rejoicing,

¹⁰ Hear, O daughter, and see, and stretch out your ear, And forget your people and the house of your father."

¹⁶ For not for the eon will I contend, nor will I be permanently wroth, in case the spirit from before Me shall droop, and all who have breath, that I made."

⁶ And fruitful I cause you to be exceedingly exceedingly. And I make of you nations, and kings from you shall fare forth.

³ And El-Who-Suffices will bless you and make you fruitful and increase you, and you shall become an assembly of peoples.

³² And pregnant is Leah and is bearing a son for Jacob. And calling is she his name Reuben for she says, "For see does Yahweh my humiliation and gives me a son, for now my husband will love me. ³³ And pregnant is Leah again, and is bearing a second son for Jacob. And saying is she, "For hearing is Yahweh that hated am I, and giving to me is He this one, moreover.And calling is she his name Simeon. ³⁴ And pregnant is she again and is bearing a son. And saying is she, "Now once more will my husband be obligated to me, for I bear for him three sons.Therefore calling is she his name Levi. ³⁵ And pregnant is she again, and is bearing a son. And saying is she, "Now once more will I acclaim Yahweh.Therefore calling is she his name Judah. And staying is she from bearing.

⁶ And saying is Rachel, "Adjudicated has the Elohim for me, and, moreover, He hears my voice, and is giving to me a son.Therefore she calls his name Dan. ⁷ And pregnant is she again, and bearing is Bilhah, Rachel's maid, a second son for Jacob. ⁸ And saying is Rachel, "With twistings of the Elohim am I twisted with my sister, and moreover, I prevail.And calling is she his name Naphtali. ⁹ And seeing is Leah that she stays from bearing. And taking is she Zilpah, her maid, and is giving her to Jacob for a wife. And coming is Jacob to her, ¹⁰ and Zilpah, Leah's maid, is pregnant and bearing for Jacob a son. ¹¹ And saying is Leah, "Coming is a raid!"And calling is she his name Gad. ¹² And pregnant is Zilpah, Leah's maid, and is bearing a second son for Jacob. ¹³ And saying is Leah "Happiness is mine, for the daughters call me happy.And calling is she his name Ashur.

¹⁶ the Messenger, my Redeemer from all evil, bless these youths. And called on them shall be my name, and the name of my forefathers, Abraham and Isaac. And prolific shall they be, to make a vast increase within the land. ¹⁷ And seeing is Joseph that his father is setting his right hand on Ephraim's head, and evil is it in his eyes. And up is Joseph holding his father's hand, to take it away, off of Ephraim's head, on to Manasseh's head. ¹⁸ And saying is Joseph to his father, "Not so, my father, for this is the firstborn. Place your right on his head. ¹⁹ And refusing is his father and saying, "I know, my son! I know! Moreover, he shall become a people, and he shall become great. ²³ And seeing is Joseph Ephraim's sons to the third generation. Moreover, the sons of Machir, the son of Manasseh, were born on Joseph's knees.

¹⁷ He sent a man before them, Joseph, who was sold as a slave." ¹⁸ They humbled his feet in fetters; His soul was inserted in iron

¹ Comfort you, comfort you My people!saying is your Elohim." ² Speak you to the heart of Jerusalem, and call to her, for fulfilled is her enlistment, for run out is her depravity, for she takes from the hand of Yahweh a shelter from all her sins."

⁶ those drinking wine in sprinkling bowls, and who are anointing with the principal oils, yet are not ill over the breaking of Joseph."

²⁹ Behold! Seven years are coming of great satisfaction in all the land of Egypt. ³⁰ Yet rise will seven years of famine after them. And forgotten will be all the satisfaction in all the land of Egypt, and finish will the famine the land. ³¹ And not known shall be the satisfaction in the land, in view of the famine that is afterward, for heavy will it be exceedingly.

²⁰ Like a dream when one is waking, O Yahweh, when rousing, You shall lay waste their phantom."

²⁵ Now Abraham said, 'Child, be reminded that you got your good things in your life, and Lazarus likewise evil things. Yet now here he is being consoled, yet you are in pain."

³ And, behold! Seven other young cows are coming up after them from the waterway, evil in appearance and thin of flesh. And standing are they beside the young cows on the shore of the waterway. ⁴ And eating are the seven young cows, evil in appearance and thin of flesh, the seven young cows, lovely in appearance and plump. And waking is Pharaoh.

⁶ And behold! Seven other spikes, thin and blasted by the burning east wind are sprouting after them. ⁷ And up are swallowing the seven spikes, thin and blasted by the east wind, the seven plump and full spikes. And waking is Pharaoh. And, behold! A dream was it.

² And saying is he, "Behold! I hear, forsooth, that there are victuals in Egypt. Go down there and purchase for us thence a little food that we will live, and not die.

⁵ And coming are the sons of Israel to purchase in the midst of the comers, for the famine comes to be in the land of Canaan. ⁶ And Joseph, he has authority over the land. He is the retailer to all the people of the land. And coming are the brothers of Joseph and prostrating to him, nostrils to the earth.

¹ And the famine is heavy in the land.

¹¹ And sustain you will I there, for there are still five years of famine, lest destitute you be becoming, and your sons' and all who are yours..

¹¹ Now a famine came on the whole of Egypt and Canaan, and the affliction was great, and our fathers found no provender."

⁴⁰ You shall be over my household, and at your bidding all my people shall bear weapons. But on the throne will I be greater than you. ⁴¹ And saying is Pharaoh to Joseph, "See! Given you have I today to be over all the land of Egypt.

²⁵ and there is a great famine in Samaria, and lo, they are laying siege to it, till the head of an ass is at eighty silverlings, and a fourth of the cab of dove's dung at five silverlings. ²⁶ And it comes to pass, the king of Israel is passing by on the wall, and a woman has cried unto him, saying, `Save, my lord, O king.. <sup>27</sup> And he said, `Yahweh does not save you--whence do I save you? out of the threshing-floor, or out of the wine-vat?. ²⁸ And the king said to her, `What--to you?' and she said, `This woman said unto me, Give your son, and we eat him to-day, and my son we eat to-morrow;" ²⁹ and we boil my son and eat him, and I say unto her on the next day, Give your son, and we eat him; and she hides her son..

¹ That which has been the word of Yahweh unto Jeremiah concerning the matters of the dearths: ² Mourned has Judah, and her gates have languished, They have mourned to the earth, And the cry of Jerusalem has gone up." ³ And their honorable ones have sent their little ones to the water, They have come unto ditches, They have not found water, They have turned back--their vessels empty! They have been ashamed, And have blushed and covered their head." ⁴ Because the ground has been broken, For there has been no rain in the land, Ashamed have been husbandmen, They have covered their head." ⁵ For even the hind in the field has brought forth--to forsake [it!] For there has been no grass. ⁶ And wild asses have stood on high places, They have swallowed up wind like dragons, Consumed have been their eyes, for there is no herb."

³ Even wild-jackals offer forth the breast; they suckle their whelps; But the daughter of my people is cruel like ostriches in the wilderness; ⁴ The tongue of the suckling clings to its palate from thirst; Infants beg for bread; there is no one spreading it out to them. ⁵ Those who ate dainties are desolated in the streets; Those who were fostered in crimson embrace hearth dung. ⁶ Indeed the depravity of the daughter of my people is greater than the sin of Sodom, Which was overturned as in a moment though no hands travailed against it!" ⁷ Her Nazirites were purged more than snow; they were more shimmering than milk; In bodily staunchness they were more ruddy than rubies, their long-beard like sapphire." ⁸ Now their visage is darker than soot; they are not recognized in the streets; Their skin is shrunken over their bones, is dried up; it has become like wood." ⁹ Better off were they who were slain by the sword than those slain by famine, Those who are succumbing, stabbed from lack of produce of the field." ¹⁰ The hands of compassionate women cook their own children; They become a repast for them in the brokenness of the daughter of my people.

¹⁷ And lo! a voice out of the heavens, saying, "This is My Son, the Beloved, in Whom I delight."

⁵ While he is still speaking, lo! a luminous cloud overshadows them, and lo! a voice out of the cloud, saying, "This is My Son, the Beloved, in Whom I delight. Hear Him!"

¹⁴ And the Word became flesh and tabernacles among us, and we gaze at His glory, a glory as of an only-begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth." ¹⁵ John is testifying concerning Him and has cried, saying, "This was He of Whom I said, 'He Who is coming after me, has come to be in front of me,' for He was first, before me, ¹⁶ for of that which fills Him we all obtained, and grace for grace."

¹⁹ Now my God shall be filling your every need in accord with His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

¹⁹ for in Him the entire complement delights to dwell,

¹⁴ And gleaning is Joseph all the money found in the land of Egypt and in the land of Canaan for the victuals which they are purchasing for their ration. And bringing is Joseph all the money to Pharaoh's house. ¹⁵ And spent is all the money in the land of Egypt and in the land of Canaan. And coming are all in Egypt to Joseph, saying, "Grant us bread! Why should we die in front of you? For the limit of our money has been reached. ¹⁶ And saying is Joseph, "Grant your cattle, and give it will I to you, bread for your cattle, if the money reaches its limit. ¹⁷ And bringing are they their cattle to Joseph, and giving is Joseph to them bread for horses, and for cattle of the flocks, and for cattle of the herds, and for asses. And sustaining them is he with bread, and fodder for all their cattle in that year. ¹⁸ And spent is that year. And coming are they to him in the second year, and saying to him, "Not suppress will we from my lord that spent is the money, and the cattle and the beasts belong to my lord, then nothing remains before my lord, barring our bodies and our ground. ¹⁹ Why shall we die before your eyes and our ground be desolate? Buy us and our ground with bread, and we and our ground will become servants of Pharaoh. And give seed for sowing and we shall live and not die, and the ground will not be desolate. ²⁰ And buying is Joseph all the ground of Egypt for Pharaoh, for the Egyptians sell to Pharaoh each man his field, seeing that a fast hold has the famine over them. And coming is the land to be Pharaoh's. ²¹ And the people are made to serve him as servants from one end of Egypt's boundary unto its other end. ²² But the ground of the priests alone, this Joseph does not buy, for there is a statutory dole for the priests from Pharaoh, and they eat the statutory dole which Pharaoh gives to them. Therefore they did not sell their ground. ²³ And saying is Joseph to all the Egyptians, "Behold! Buy do I you today, with your ground, for Pharaoh. Lo! for you there is seed, and sow shall you the ground. ²⁴ And it comes, of the incomes, you give the fifth handful to Pharaoh, and four handfuls shall become yours, for seed for the field, and for your food, and for all who are in your household, and for food for your tots.

¹⁷ And it comes, from the end of the seventy years, then Yahweh will visit Tyre, and she recalls her fee, and she prostitutes with all kingdoms of the earth, on the surface of the ground."

³ And he is saying to me, This is the execration which is faring forth over the surface of the entire land, for every thief, henceforth as death doomed shall be visited with vengeance, and every swearer, henceforth as death doomed shall be visited with vengeance."

³⁵ as a trap, for it will intrude on all those sitting on the surface of the entire earth."

²⁶ Besides, He makes out of one every nation of mankind, to be dwelling on all the surface of the earth, specifying the setting of the seasons and the bounds of their dwelling, for them to be seeking God, if, consequently,

¹ And seeing is Jacob that, forsooth, there are victuals in Egypt. And saying is Jacob to his sons, "Why are you staring at one another?

⁵ And coming are the sons of Israel to purchase in the midst of the comers, for the famine comes to be in the land of Canaan.

²⁰ And you, you devised against me evil, yet the Elohim devises it for me for good, that it may work out as at this day, to preserve alive many people.

²⁸ lest the people of the country whence You brought us forth should say:Because Yahweh was unable to bring them into the land about which He had spoken to them, and because of His hatred of them He brought them forth to put them to death in the wilderness.

¹⁶ He called forth a famine on the earth; He broke off the entire stock of bread. ¹⁷ He sent a man before them, Joseph, who was sold as a slave."
