Hebrews 6:16 Cross References - CLV

¹⁶ For men are swearing by a greater, and to them an oath for confirmation is an end of all contradiction,

²² And saying is Abram to the king of Sodom, "High hold I my hand to swear to Yahweh, the El Supreme, Owner of the heavens and the earth.

²³ And now, swear to me by the Elohim. Behold! Should you be false to me and to my propagator and to my progeny--! According to the kindness which I do to you shall you do with me, and with the land in which you sojourn.

³⁰ And saying is Abraham, that "The seven ewe lambs are you taking from my hand in order to become a testimony to me that I delved this well. ³¹ Therefore he called the name of that place Beer-sheba, for there they swore, they two.

⁵³ The Elohim of Abraham and the Elohim of Nahor, the Elohim of the forefathers, shall judge between us.And swearing is Jacob by the Awe of his father Isaac.

¹¹ the oath of Yahweh shall come to be between them both to show whether or not he has put forth his hand on the property of his associate; then its possessor will take it, and he shall not repay.

¹⁵ and Joshua makes with them peace, and makes with them a covenant, to keep them alive; and swear to them do the princes of the company. ¹⁶ And it comes to pass, at the end of three days after that they have made with them a covenant, that they hear that they [are] their neighbors--that in their midst they are dwelling. ¹⁷ And the sons of Israel journey and come in unto their cities on the third day--and their cities [are] Gibeon, and Chephirah, and Beeroth, and Kirjath-Jearim-. ¹⁸ and the sons of Israel have not smitten them, for sworn to them have the princes of the company by Yahweh Elohim of Israel, and all the company murmur against the princes. ¹⁹ And all the princes say unto all the company, `We--we have sworn to them by Yahweh, Elohim of Israel; and now, we are not able to come against them;" ²⁰ this we do to them, and have kept them alive, and wrath is not upon us, because of the oath which we have sworn to them..

² And the king calls for the Gibeonites, and said unto them--as to the Gibeonites, they [are] not of the sons of Israel, but of the remnant of the Amorite, and the sons of Israel had sworn to them, and Saul seeks to smite them in his zeal for the sons of Israel and Judah-.

¹⁶ I live--an affirmation of the Lord Yahweh, Does he not--in the place of the king who is causing him to reign, Whose oath he has despised, And whose covenant he has broken, With him--in the midst of Babylon--die? ¹⁷ And not with a great force, and with a numerous assembly, Does Pharaoh maintain him in battle, By pouring out a mount, and in building a fortification, To cut off many souls." ¹⁸ And he despised the oath--to break covenant, And lo, he has given his hand, And all these he has done, he escapes not." ¹⁹ Therefore, thus said the Lord Yahweh:I live--Mine oath that he has despised, And My covenant that he has broken, Have I not put it on his head? ²⁰ And I have spread out for him My snare, And he has been caught in My net, And I have brought him in to Babylon, And pleaded with him there his trespass, That he has trespassed against Me."

²⁰ He, then, who swears by the altar is swearing by it and by all which is upon it." ²¹ And he who swears by the temple is swearing by it and by Him Who is dwelling in it. ²² And he who swears by heaven is swearing by the throne of God and by Him Who is sitting upon it.
