⁸ And he will not heed the altars, the make of his hands, and that made by his fingers he shall not see, even the fetishes of happiness, and the warmed horn-altars."

¹³ For their altars shall you break down, and their monuments shall you break, and their Asherah poles shall you cut down.

⁵ and he turns aside out of all cities of Judah the high places and the images, and the kingdom is quiet before him.

⁴ And they break down before him the altars of the Baalim, and the images that [are] on high above them he has cut down, and the shrines, and the graven images, and the molten images, he has broken and beaten small, and strews on the surface of the graves of those sacrificing to them,

⁶ and in the cities of Manasseh, and Ephraim, and Simeon, even unto Naphtali, with their tools, round about. ⁷ And he breaks down the altars and the shrines, and the graven images he has beaten down very small, and all the images he has cut down in all the land of Israel, and turns back to Jerusalem.

²⁹ For they are ashamed because of the oaks which you covet, and they are abashed because of the gardens which you choose."

⁸ And their land is filling with forbidden idols, the make of their hands. They are worshiping that which they make with their fingers."

¹⁸ And the forbidden idols are completely thrust away. ¹⁹ And they come into caves of the rocks, and into tunnels of the soil, from the face of awe-inspiring Yahweh, and from the honor of His pomp, when He rises to terrify the earth." ²⁰ In that day humanity shall fling its forbidden idols of silver, and its forbidden idols of gold, which they make for it to worship, to the mole rats, and to the bats, ²¹ to come into the fissures of the rocks, and into the forks of the crags, from the face of awe-inspiring Yahweh, and from the honor of His pomp, when He rises to terrify the earth."

⁹ Wherefore, in this will be a propitiatory shelter for the depravity of the house of Jacob, and this is My propitiatory shelter, to take away his sin. When he makes all the stones of the altar as chalk stones shattered, the fetishes of happiness and warmed horn altars will not rise."

²² And unclean shall you make the overlaying of your silver carvings, and the vestment of your golden molten image. You shall toss them away as what comes from a languishing woman, and as filth shall you reject it."

⁶ Return to Him Who deepens counsel, you stubborn sons of Israel!" ⁷ For in that day each man will reject the forbidden idols of his silver, and the forbidden idols of his gold, which your hands make for you to sin."

¹⁵ And it comes to be for a human to consume. And he is taking of them for warmth. Indeed, he is igniting it and bakes bread. Indeed, he is contriving an el, and is worshiping it. He makes it a carving and is falling on his knees and face to it."

¹⁹ And he is not recalling to his heart, and no knowledge is there, nor understanding to say, "Half of it I burned up in the fire, and, indeed, I baked on its embers bread, roasting flesh and eating. And the rest of it I am making into an abhorrence. To a decaying tree am I falling on my knees and face!" ²⁰ Grazing on ashes, a trifling heart turns him aside. And he is not rescuing his soul, nor is he saying, "Is not a falsehood in my right hand?

²⁵ And I have sprinkled over you clean water, And you have been clean; From all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols, I do cleanse you."

⁴ They made kings, yet not from Me; they made chiefs, yet I did not know. Of their silver and their gold they made their grief fetishes, that they may be cut off." ⁵ Cast off your calf, Samaria! Hot is My anger against them. Till when are they being incapable of innocency? ⁶ For even this is from Israel; an artificer made it, and no Elohim is it, for backslidings are coming to be by your calf, Samaria."

¹ Israel is a voiding vine; his fruit is equal to him. According to the abundance of fruit, he increases that for the altars. According to the good of his land, they make goodly monuments." ² To these they apportion their heart; now they shall be guilty. He shall denude their altars; He shall devastate their monuments.

¹ When Ephraim spoke, it was an edict. He was lifted up in Israel. Yet he is being guilty with regard to Baal and is dying." ² And now they are continuing to sin. And they are making a molten image for themselves from their silver, according to their model of grief fetishes, the work of artificers, all of them. To them, they are saying, shall be the sacrifices of a human. They shall kiss the calves."

⁸ Ephraim--what are grief fetishes to him any longer? I humble him, and am controlling him. I am as a flourishing fir. Your fruit is found to be from Me."

¹³ I cut off carvings, and your monuments within your midst, and no longer shall you worship the work of your hands." ¹⁴ I pluck up your fetishes of happiness within your midst, and I exterminate your cities,

³ I will terminate human and beast. I will terminate the flyer of the heavens and the fish of the sea, and the stumbling blocks with the wicked. And I cut humanity off the surface of the ground, (averring is Yahweh)."

² And it shall come to be in that day, (averring is Yahweh of hosts), I will cut off the names of grief fetishes from the land, and they shall no longer be remembered. And, moreover, I will cause the prophets and the unclean spirit to pass from the land."
