¹ Behold, Yahweh making void, the land, and evacuating it! And He denudes its surface, and scatters its dwellers."

²⁷ Yahweh will cause you to scatter among the peoples, and you will remain adult males of a small number among the nations where Yahweh shall lead you.

⁶⁴ And Yahweh will scatter you among all the peoples from one end of the earth unto the other end of the earth. There you will serve other elohim, those of wood and stone which you have not known, neither you nor your fathers.

²⁶ I would say:I might blow them away, I might eradicate their remembrance from mortals,

¹³ And I have stretched out over Jerusalem the line of Samaria, and the plummet of the house of Ahab, and wiped Jerusalem as one wipes the dish--he has wiped, and has turned [it] on its face.

⁸ `Remember, I pray You, the word that You did command Moses Your servant, saying, You--you trespass--I scatter you among peoples;"

⁹ Yahweh, Guardian over the sojourners; The orphan and the widow shall He bolster up, Yet the way of the wicked shall He overturn."

⁷ Your land is a desolation, and your cities are burned with fire. Your ground--in front of you aliens are devouring it, and desolation is on it as an overturning by alien peoples." ⁸ And left is the daughter of Zion as a booth in a vineyard, as a lodge in a cucumber patch, as a city besieged." ⁹ Unless Yahweh of hosts reserves for us a few survivors, as Sodom would we become, and to Gomorrah would we be likened."

¹⁹ And they come into caves of the rocks, and into tunnels of the soil, from the face of awe-inspiring Yahweh, and from the honor of His pomp, when He rises to terrify the earth."

⁶ And I am making My vineyard into a chaos, and it is not being pruned. And not being hoed, and up come buckthorn and spines. And I am instructing the thick clouds over it to keep from raining rain on it."

¹¹ And saying am I, "Till when, Yahweh?And saying is He, "Till the cities should tumult from having no dweller, and houses, from having no human. And the ground is remaining a desolation, ¹² and Yahweh removes the human afar, and much is forsaken within the land."

¹⁷ And Yahweh will bring on you, and on your people, and on the house of your father, days which have not come since the day Ephraim withdrew from Judah--the king of Assyria!" ¹⁸ And it comes in that day, Yahweh shall hiss for the gadfly which is at the end of the waterways of Egypt, and for the bee which is in the land of Assyria." ¹⁹ And they come and stop, all of them, in the offshoot watercourses, and in rifts in the crags, and in the caves, and in all the clefts, and in all the thorn trees, and at all the streams are their lodges." ²⁰ In that day Yahweh will shave with a hired razor, with those across the stream, with the king of Assyria, the head, and the hair of the feet, and even the beard will it sweep off." ²¹ And it comes in that day, that a man shall keep alive a heifer of the herd, and two ewes of the flock;" ²² and it comes, from the vast yield of milk, he shall eat clotted cream, for clotted cream and honey shall everyone eat, who is left within the land." ²³ And it comes in that day, coming to be is every place, where is coming a thousand vines, a thousand silverlings in value, for buckthorns and for spines shall it become." ²⁴ With arrows and with a bow shall come there, for all the land shall become buckthorns and spines." ²⁵ And all the mountains which with the hoe are being hoed, you will not come there for fear of buckthorns and spines, and it shall become a place for sending the bull, and for the tramping of the flockling."

²⁰ Swayed by swaying is the earth. And it staggers as a drunkard, and it wanders as a mariner, and its transgression is heavy upon it. And it falls, and is not proceeding to rise."

¹⁰ For the defended city will be solitary; the homestead will be let go and forsaken as a wilderness. There the calf will graze, and there it will recline, and will finish its forked branches"

¹⁶ O! Your waywardness! Should as clay, the Potter be accounted? For is what is made saying of its Maker, `He did not make me'? And does the formed say of its Former, `He does not understand'?

¹³ over the ground of My people where thorn and buckthorn are coming up, over all the houses of elation, of the joyous town." ¹⁴ For the citadel shall be abandoned. The throng of the city shall forsake it. The hump and lookout become caves, in the future, till the eon; an elation of wild asses, a pasture for droves,

⁹ Mournful, enfeebled is the land. Abashed is Lebanon; it is withered. And Sharon has become as a gorge. And denuded are Bashan and Carmel."

¹⁵ I will drain mountains and hills, and all their herbage will I dry up. And I convert streams into arid areas, and the marshes will I dry up."

⁷ Gone up has a lion from his thicket, And a destroyer of nations has journeyed, He has come forth from his place To make your land become a desolation, Your cities are laid waste, without inhabitant."

¹⁶ And I have scattered them among nations Which they knew not, they and their fathers, And have sent after them the sword, Till I have consumed them."

¹⁵ And Johanan son of Kareah has spoken unto Gedaliah in secret, in Mizpah, saying, `Let me go, I pray you, and I smite Ishmael son of Nethaniah, and no one does know; why does he smite your soul? and scattered have been all Judah who are gathered unto you, and perished has the remnant of Judah.'"

¹⁷ A scattered sheep is Israel, lions have driven away, At first, devour him did the king of Asshur, And now, at last, broken his bone Has Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon."

² A third part with fire you do burn in the midst of the city, at the fulness of the days of the siege; and you have taken the third part, you do smite with a weapon round about it; and the third part you do scatter to the wind, and a weapon I draw out after them."

¹⁴ And I give you for a waste, And for a reproach among nations that [are] round about you, Before the eyes of every passer by."

⁶ In all your dwellings the cities are laid waste, And the high places are desolate, So that waste and desolate are your altars, And broken and ceased have your idols, And cut down have been your images, And blotted out have been your works."

²⁰ And the cities that are inhabited are laid waste, and the land is a desolation, and you have known that I [am] Yahweh.'"

¹¹ And cause it to stand on its coals empty, So that its brass is hot and burning, Melted has been in its midst its uncleanness, Consumed is its scum."

¹⁴ Thus said the Lord Yahweh:According to the rejoicing of the whole land, A desolation I make of you."

¹⁰ She is void and voided and evacuated:And the heart is melted, and a quavering of the knees, and a sore travail in all waists, and the faces of them all draw together in frustration."

⁷ O sword! rouse against My Shepherd, and against the Master, My Companion, (averring is Yahweh of hosts). Smite the Shepherd, and the flock is scattering. And I restore My hand on the inferior shepherds." ⁸ And it shall come to be that in all the land, (averring is Yahweh), two divisions in it shall be cut off and shall expire. Yet the third shall be left in it." ⁹ And I will bring the third into the fire. And I will refine them as silver is refined. And I will test them as gold is tested. It shall call in My name, and I will answer it. I will say, My people is it. And it will say, Yahweh is my Elohim."

²⁴ And they shall be falling by the edge of the sword and shall be led into captivity into all nations. And Jerusalem shall be trodden by the nations, until the eras of the nations may be fulfilled."

⁶ Now, not finding them, they dragged Jason and some brethren to the city magistrates, imploring that "Those who raise the inhabited earth to insurrection, these are present in this place also,
