⁷ Mournful is the grape juice; enfeebled is the vine. Sigh does every rejoicing heart.

⁸ over the plantations of Heshbon. Enfeebled is the vine of Sibmah. The swallowers of nations have hammered down its vines. They touched unto Jazer. They have strayed into the wilderness. Its runners are let go. They pass the sea.

¹⁰ And gathered is rejoicing and exultation from the crop land. And in the vineyards is no jubilating, and no shouting. Wine in the wine vats the treader is not treading. The whooping I cause to cease."

⁹ Tranquil women, rise and hear My voice! Trusting daughters, give ear to My sayings!" ¹⁰ In days over a year shall you be disturbed, trusting women, for vanish will the vintage, the gathering will fail to come in." ¹¹ Tremble, tranquil women! Be disturbed, trusting women! Strip and be naked, with a girdle skirt on the loins!" ¹² Beat in wailing on the breasts, over the coveted fields, over the fruitful vine, ¹³ over the ground of My people where thorn and buckthorn are coming up, over all the houses of elation, of the joyous town."

¹ You must not rejoice, Israel, with exultation as the peoples, for you commit prostitution departing from your Elohim. You love a fee on all the threshing sites for grain;" ² the threshing site and the wine vat shall not know them, and the grape juice shall dissimulate in them."

¹⁰ The field is devastated; the ground mourns; for the grain is devastated. The grape juice is dried; the clarified oil is enfeebled. ¹¹ Be ashamed, farmers! Howl, vineyardists! Over the wheat and over the barley, for the harvest of the field perishes." ¹² The vine is dried, and the fig tree is enfeebled. The pomegranate, moreover the palm and the apricot--all the trees of the field are dry, for elation is dried from the sons of humanity."
