¹ And now hear, Jacob, My servant, and Israel, whom I chose in him." ² Thus says Yahweh Elohim, your Maker, and your Former from the belly, and your Helper:"You must not fear, My servant Jacob, and you Upright one whom I choose in him." ³ For I will pour water on the thirsty, and floods on the dry land. I will pour My spirit on your seed, and My blessing on your offspring." ⁴ And they will sprout as grass between water, as oleanders by runnels of water." ⁵ This one will say, `I am for Yahweh,' and this one will call in the name of Jacob, and this one will write with his hand, `For Yahweh.' And in the name `Israel' is he entitled." <sup>6</sup> Thus says Yahweh, King of Israel, and his Redeemer, Yahweh of hosts is His name. "I am the First and I am the Last, and apart from Me there is no Elohim." <sup>7</sup> And who is as I? Stand shall he and call and tell it! And he shall arrange it for Me, from My placing the eonian people! And the things arriving shall he say, and when they will come shall they tell to you." <sup>8</sup> You must not be afraid! And you must not fear! Have I not hitherto announced it to you, and told it? And you are My witnesses. Forsooth, is there an Eloah apart from Me? And no other Rock is there. I fail to know of any." <sup>9</sup> Formers of carvings, all of them are a chaos. And makers of their coveted idols shall fail to benefit. And their witnesses they will fail to see and fail to know, that they may be ashamed, <sup>10</sup> Who form an el, and cast a carving which fails to benefit." <sup>11</sup> Behold! All his partners are ashamed. And the artificers, they are blushing. They are convening. All of them are standing together. They shall be afraid. They are ashamed together." <sup>12</sup> Sharpening is the smith the adz, and he contrives to do it in the coals. And with picks is he forming it. And contriving it with the vigor of his arm. Moreover, he is famishing and there is no vigor, and he drinks no water, and is faint." <sup>13</sup> The carpenter choosing wood, stretches out a tape. He is drawing the carving with red ochre. He is making it with gouges, and with a circle former is drawing it. And he is making it as a model of a man, as the beauty of a human, to dwell in a house." <sup>14</sup> He cuts down for himself cedars, and is taking juniper and oak, and the tough is his among the wildwood trees, planted by the Lord, and the downpour is making it grow." <sup>15</sup> And it comes to be for a human to consume. And he is taking of them for warmth. Indeed, he is igniting it and bakes bread. Indeed, he is contriving an el, and is worshiping it. He makes it a carving and is falling on his knees and face to it." <sup>16</sup> Half of it he burned up in the fire. And on this half of it he is eating flesh. He is roasting a roast and is satisfied. And by its embers he sits. Indeed, he is warming himself, and is saying, `Aha! I am warm! I see light!'" ¹⁷ And the remnant of it he makes into an el. To a decaying tree, to it is he falling on his knees and face. And he is worshiping, and praying to it, and saying, `Rescue me, for my el are you!'" <sup>18</sup> They do not know, nor are they understanding, for He plasters their eyes, from seeing, and their hearts, from intelligence." <sup>19</sup> And he is not recalling to his heart, and no knowledge is there, nor understanding to say, "Half of it I burned up in the fire, and, indeed, I baked on its embers bread, roasting flesh and eating. And the rest of it I am making into an abhorrence. To a decaying tree am I falling on my knees and face!" <sup>20</sup> Grazing on ashes, a trifling heart turns him aside. And he is not rescuing his soul, nor is he saying, "Is not a falsehood in my right hand? <sup>21</sup> Remember these things, Jacob and Israel, for My servant are you. I formed you. A servant of Mine are you, Israel. You shall not be oblivious of Me." <sup>22</sup> For behold! I wipe out as a dense haze, your transgressions, and as a cloud, your sins. Return to Me, for I redeemed you." <sup>23</sup> Be jubilant, you heavens, for Yahweh does it! Shout, you nether parts of the earth! Crash, you mountains, into jubilation, you wildwood, and every tree within it! For Yahweh has redeemed Jacob, and in Israel He is beautifying Himself." <sup>24</sup> Thus says Yahweh, your Redeemer, and your Former from the belly:"I, Yahweh, am Maker of all, Who stretched out the heavens alone. When stamping out the earth, who was with Me? <sup>25</sup> Annulling the signs of the inventors of deception, and making the diviners bluster, causing the wise to return backward, and making their knowledge silly, <sup>26</sup> setting up the word of His servant, and performing the counsel of His messengers. Saying to Jerusalem, `You shall be indwelt,' and to the cities of Judah, `You shall be built,' and `Its deserted places I will raise up.'" ²⁷ Saying to the sinkhole, `Be drained.' And `Your streams I will dry.'" ²⁸ Saying as to Cyrus, `My shepherd,' and `All My desire he will perform.' Saying as to Jerusalem, `It shall be built.' And the temple, `It shall be founded.'"

⁷ And I set up My covenant between Me and you, and your seed after you, for their generations, for a covenant eonian, to become your Elohim and your seed's after you.

⁶ For you are a people holy to Yahweh your Elohim; Yahweh your Elohim has chosen you to become His, a special people from all the peoples who are on the surface of the ground. ⁷ It was not because your multitude was more than all the other peoples that Yahweh was attached to you and chose you, for you were the fewest of all the peoples. ⁸ But it was because of the love of Yahweh for you and because of His keeping the oath that He had sworn to your fathers that Yahweh brought you forth with a steadfast hand and ransomed you from the house of servants, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

¹¹ Yet My people would not hearken to My voice, And Israel would not comply with Me." ¹² So I let them go in the obduracy of their own heart; They went in their own counsels. ¹³ O that My people were hearkening to Me, And Israel were walking in My ways!"

⁶ O seed of Israel, His servants, Sons of Jacob, His chosen ones."

⁴² For He was mindful of His holy word With Abraham, His servant, ⁴³ And He brought His people forth with elation, His chosen ones with jubilant song."

⁸ Now you, Israel, My servant; Jacob, whom I have chosen; the seed of Abraham, My love, whom I encourage;"

²³ Who among you will give ear to this? And will attend and hearken for the hereafter?

¹ And now, thus says Yahweh Elohim, your creator, Jacob, and your Former, Israel:"You must not fear, for I redeemed you, I called you by your name. You are mine."

¹⁶ Draw near to me! Hear this! From the beginning, I did not speak in concealment, nor in a dark place of the earth. From the era of its coming, I was there, and now my Lord Yahweh sends me and His spirit." ¹⁷ Thus says Yahweh, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, "I, Yahweh, your Elohim, will teach you to benefit, causing you to tread in the way in which you shall go." ¹⁸ O that you attended to My instructions! Then your welfare will become as a stream, and your righteousness as billows of the sea."

³ Stretch out your ear and go to Me; hear Me, and your soul shall live in good. And I will contract with you a covenant eonian, the kindnesses of David that are faithful."

⁷ Gone up has a lion from his thicket, And a destroyer of nations has journeyed, He has come forth from his place To make your land become a desolation, Your cities are laid waste, without inhabitant."

¹⁰ And you, be not afraid, My servant Jacob, An affirmation of Yahweh, Nor be affrighted, O Israel, For, lo, I am saving you from afar, And your seed from the land of their captivity, And Jacob has turned back and rested, And is quiet, and there is none troubling."

²⁷ And you, you do not fear, my servant Jacob, Nor [are] you dismayed, O Israel, For lo, I am saving you from afar, And your seed from the land of their captivity, And Jacob has turned back, And has been at rest, and been at ease, And there is none disturbing." ²⁸ You, you do not fear, My servant Jacob, An affirmation of Yahweh--for with you I [am], For I make an end of all the nations Whither I have driven you, And of you I do not make an end, And I have reproved you in judgment, And do not entirely acquit you!'"

³⁴ Jerusalem! Jerusalem! killing the prophets and pelting with stones those who have been dispatched to her! How many times do I want to assemble your children in the manner a hen does her brood under her wings, and you will not!"

⁵ Thus, then, in the current era also, there has come to be a remnant according to the choice of grace." ⁶ Now if it is in grace, it is no longer out of works, else the grace is coming to be no longer grace. Now, if it is out of works, it is no longer grace, else the work is no longer work."

⁷ Wherefore, according as the holy spirit is saying, "Today, if ever His voice you should be hearing, ⁸ You should not be hardening your hearts as in the embitterment, In the day of trial in the wilderness,

¹⁵ When Yeshurun grew stout and kicked (you will be stout, thick and burly), then he abandoned Eloah Who had made him and disgraced the Rock of his salvation.

⁵ So He became king in Yeshurun when the heads of the people gathered themselves together with the tribes of Israel.

⁵ Elohim is within it; it shall never slip; Elohim shall help it at the presence of the morning.

⁶ By You have I been supported from the belly; From the internal parts of my mother, You have been my Strength. In You is my praise continually."

¹⁰ You must not fear, for I am with you, and you must not take heed for yourself, for I am your Elohim. I make you resolute; indeed, I help you. Indeed, I uphold you with the right hand of My righteousness.'"

¹⁴ You must not fear, worm Jacob, and death-doomed of Israel, I, I help you,'averring is Yahweh, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel."

⁵ You must not fear, for I am with you! From the rising of the sun will I bring your seed, and from the west will I convene you."

⁷ everyone being called by My name. And for My glory I created him, I formed him. Indeed, I made him."

²¹ This people I have formed for Myself, and they shall relate My praise."

²¹ Remember these things, Jacob and Israel, for My servant are you. I formed you. A servant of Mine are you, Israel. You shall not be oblivious of Me."

²⁴ Thus says Yahweh, your Redeemer, and your Former from the belly:"I, Yahweh, am Maker of all, Who stretched out the heavens alone. When stamping out the earth, who was with Me?

³ Hearken to Me, house of Jacob, and all the remnant of the house of Israel, My lading from the belly, and carried from My womb." ⁴ And till old age I am He, and till gray hairs shall I be burdened, I made, and I am bearing. And I will be burdened, and make you escape."

¹ Hearken, you coastlanders, to me! And attend, you folkstems, from afar! Yahweh, from the belly, called me; from the bowels of my mother He mentioned my name."

⁵ `Before I form you in the belly, I have known you; and before you come forth from the womb I have separated you, a prophet to nations I have made you.'"

⁴ As to your nativity, in the day you wast born, You--your navel has not been cut, And in water you wast not washed for ease, And you have not been salted at all, And you have not been swaddled at all." ⁵ No eye has had pity on you, to do to you any of these, To have compassion on you, And you are cast on the face of the field, With loathing of your person. In the day you have been born--you!" ⁶ And I do pass over by you, And I see you trodden down in your blood, And I say to you in your blood, Live, And I say to you in your blood, Live." ⁷ A myriad--as the shoot of the field I have made you, And you are multiplied, and are great, And come in with an excellent adornment, Breasts have been formed, and your hair has grown--And you, naked and bare!" ⁸ And I pass over by you, and I see you, And lo, your time [is] a time of loves, And I spread My skirt over you, And I cover your nakedness, And I swear to you, and come in to a covenant with you, An affirmation of the Lord Yahweh, And you do become Mine."

⁵ and you have said unto them:Thus said the Lord Yahweh:In the day of My fixing on Israel, I lift up My hand, To the seed of the house of Jacob, And am known to them in the land of Egypt, And I lift up My hand to them, Saying, I [am] Yahweh your Elohim." ⁶ In that day I did lift up My hand to them, To bring them forth from the land of Egypt, Unto a land that I spied out for them, Flowing with milk and honey, A beauty it [is] to all the lands, ⁷ And I say unto them, Let each cast away the detestable things of his eyes, And with the idols of Egypt be not defiled, I [am] Yahweh your Elohim." ⁸ And--they rebel against Me, And have not been willing to hearken to Me, Each, the detestable things of their eyes, They have not cast away, And the idols of Egypt have not forsaken, And I say--to pour out My fury on them, To complete Mine anger against them, In the midst of the land of Egypt." ⁹ And I do [it] for My name's sake, Not to pollute [it] before the eyes of the nations, In whose midst they [are], Before whose eyes I became known to them, To bring them out from the land of Egypt." ¹⁰ And I bring them out of the land of Egypt, And I bring them in unto the wilderness, ¹¹ And I give to them My statutes, And my judgments I caused them to know, Which the man who does--lives by them." ¹² And also My sabbaths I have given to them, To be for a sign between Me and them, To know that I [am] Yahweh their sanctifier."

³² Do not fear, little flocklet, for it delights your Father to give you the kingdom."

³⁰ Now whom He designates beforehand, these He calls also, and whom He calls, these He justifies also; now whom He justifies, these He glorifies also."

⁴ according as He chooses us in Him before the disruption of the world, we to be holy and flawless in His sight,

⁴ having perceived, brethren beloved by God, your choice,

¹⁶ We may be coming, then, with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may be obtaining mercy and finding grace for opportune help."

¹ {A Davidic Psalm{ {When he was in the wilderness of Judah{ O Elohim, You are my El! Early am I seeking You. My soul thirsts for You. My flesh craves for You, Like a land arid and faint, without water."

¹⁵ He rent rocks in the wilderness And let them drink as from the abyss, abundantly." ¹⁶ He brought forth floods from a crag, And He made the water descend like streams."

³⁵ He can convert a wilderness into a pond of water And an arid area into flowing wells of water.

²³ May you turn back at my correction; Behold, let me utter what is in my spirit to you; Let me make known my words to you."

² And a man becomes as a hiding place from the wind, and a concealment from the storm, as rillets of water in an arid place, as the shadow of a massive crag in a faint-making desert land."

¹⁵ till emptied on us shall be the spirit from the height. "Then the wilderness will come to be for crop land, and the crop land for wildwood will be accounted."

⁶ Then leap as a deer shall the lame, and jubilate shall the tongue of the mute. For rent in the wilderness shall be waters, and watercourses in the gorge shall go." ⁷ And the seared sink becomes a pond, and the thirsty land has fonts of water. In the homestead of jackals shall be a morass, an environ for reed and papyrus."

¹⁷ The humble and the needy are seeking water, yet there is none. Their tongue is benumbed with thirst. I, Yahweh, will respond to them; the Elohim of Israel, I will not forsake them."

¹⁹ Behold Me doing a new thing. Now is it sprouting. Are you not knowing it? Indeed, I am placing a way in the wilderness, tracks in the desolation." ²⁰ The field life shall glorify Me; the jackals and the ostrich. For I provide water in the wilderness, streams in the desolation, to give drink to My people, and My chosen."

²¹ And they were not thirsty in the deserts in which He conducted them. He caused water from a rock to exude for them. And rending was the rock, and gushing was the water, and My people drink."

¹⁰ They shall not hunger nor thirst, nor will the searing wind and the sun smite them. For the One showing them compassion will lead them, and to fonts of water will He conduct them."

²¹ And I--this is My covenant with them,says Yahweh. "My spirit, which is on you, and My word, which I place in your mouth, shall not remove from your mouth, or from the mouth of your seed, or from the mouth of your seed's seed,says Yahweh, "Henceforth and till the eon."

⁹ And known among the nations is their seed, and their offspring in the midst of the peoples. All seeing them shall recognize them, that they are the seed blessed by Yahweh Elohim."

²³ They shall not labor for naught, nor shall they generate for decadence. For the seed of the blessed of Yahweh are they, and their offspring with them."

²⁶ And I have given them, and the suburbs of my hill, a blessing, And caused the shower to come down in its season, Showers of blessing they are."

²⁹ And I hide not any more My face from them, In that I have poured out My spirit on the house of Israel, An affirmation of the Lord Yahweh!'"

²⁸ And it comes afterward, I shall pour out My spirit on all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your elders shall dream dreams, your chosen ones shall see visions."

¹⁸ And it shall come in that day, the mountains shall drop with juice, and the hills shall flow with milk. All the channels of Judah shall flow with water, and a spring from the house of Yahweh shall fare forth, and it irrigates the watercourse Shittim."

¹⁰ Yet I pour out on the house of David, and on the dwellers of Jerusalem, a spirit of grace and supplications; and they look to Him Whom they stabbed, and they will wail over Him as the wailing over the only son, and they will be embittered over Him as the embittering over the firstborn."

⁴³ Now, whenever the unclean spirit may be coming out from a man, it is passing through waterless places seeking rest, and is not finding it."

³⁷ Now on the last, the great day of the festival, Jesus stood and cries, saying, "If anyone should be thirsting, let him come to Me and drink." ³⁸ He who is believing in Me, according as the scripture said, out of his bowel shall gush rivers of living water." ³⁹ Now this He said concerning the spirit which those believing in Him were about to get. For not as yet was holy spirit given, for Jesus is not as yet glorified."

¹⁷ And it shall be in the last days,' (God is saying) 'I shall be pouring out from My spirit on all flesh, And your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, And your youths visions shall be seeing, And your elders dreams shall be dreaming,

³³ Being, then, to the right hand of God exalted, besides obtaining the promise of the holy spirit from the Father, He pours out this which you are observing and hearing."

³⁹ For to you is the promise and to your children, and to all those afar, whosoever the Lord our God should be calling to Him."

⁴⁵ And amazed were the believers of the Circumcision, whoever come together with Peter, seeing that on the nations also the gratuity of the holy spirit has been poured out."

⁵ not for works which are wrought in righteousness which we do, but according to His mercy, He saves us, through the bath of renascence and renewal of holy spirit, ⁶ which He pours out on us richly through Jesus Christ, our Saviour,

⁶ And He said to me, "I have become the Alpha and the Omega, the Origin and the Consummation. To him who is thirsting I shall be giving of the spring of the water of life gratuitously."

¹⁷ And the spirit and the bride are saying, 'Come!' and let him who is hearing say, 'Come!' And let him who is thirsting come. Let him who will, take the water of life gratuitously."

⁴⁰ You will take for yourselves on the first day fruit of goodly trees, fronds of palms and boughs of leafy trees, and oleanders of the watercourse, and you will rejoice before Yahweh your Elohim for seven days.

²² The lotuses overshadow him for his shade; The oleanders of the watercourse surround him.

³ So he comes to be like a tree transplanted by rillets of water, That yields its fruit in its season, And its leaf does not decay; Hence all that he does shall prosper.

¹³ Those transplanted into the House of Yahweh, They shall bud in the courts of our Elohim." ¹⁴ They shall still produce when greyhaired; They shall be sleek and flourishing, ¹⁵ Telling that Yahweh is upright, My Rock, and no iniquity is in Him."

¹ By the streams of Babylon, There we sat down and lamented, While we remembered Zion." ² On the oleanders in its midst We hung our harps,

¹¹ And you are guided by Yahweh continually, and He satisfies, on a garish day, your soul. And your bones will He liberate. And you become as a soaked garden, and as a vent of water whose waters are not defaulting."

¹¹ For as the earth is bringing forth her sprouts, and as the garden is causing its sowings to sprout, so, my Lord Yahweh Elohim will cause righteousness to sprout, and praise, in front of all the nations."

⁵ And it takes of the seed of the land, And does put it in a field of seed, To take by many waters, In a conspicuous place it has set it."

⁴¹ Those indeed, then, who welcome his word, are baptized, and there were added in that day about three thousand souls." ⁴² Now they were persevering in the teaching of the apostles, and in fellowship, and in the breaking of bread, and in prayers." ⁴³ Now on every soul came fear, yet many miracles and signs occurred through the apostles in Jerusalem. Besides, great fear was on all." ⁴⁴ Now all those who believe also were in the same place and had all things in common. ⁴⁵ And they disposed of the acquisitions and the properties, and divided them to all, forasmuch as some would have had need." ⁴⁶ Besides persevering day by day with one accord in the sanctuary, besides breaking bread home by home, they partook of nourishment with exultation and simplicity of heart, ⁴⁷ praising God and having favor for the whole people. Now the Lord added those being saved day by day in the same place.

⁴ Now many of those who hear the word, believe, and the number of men became about five thousand."

¹⁴ yet, rather, there were added of those believing the Lord, multitudes of both men and women,

⁹ And you will come to have this as a sign on your hand and as a reminder between your eyes that the law of Yahweh may be in your mouth; for with a steadfast hand Yahweh brought you forth from Egypt.

¹⁷ To Yahweh have you affirmed today that He is to be your Elohim, and you are to go in His ways and to observe His statutes, His instructions and His judgments and to hearken to His voice. ¹⁸ As for Yahweh, He affirms today that you are to be for Him a special people, just as He promised to you, and that you are to observe all His instructions;" ¹⁹ then He promises to give you supremacy over all the nations which He has made, for praise, for a name and for beauty, and for you to be a people holy to Yahweh your Elohim just as He has promised.

³⁸ And for all this we are making a stedfast covenant, and are writing, and over him who is sealed [are] our heads, our Levites, our priests..

¹⁶ Oh Yahweh, seeing that I am Your servant, I am Your servant, son of Your maidservant, You have opened up my bonds;"

⁵ [To] Zion they ask the way, Thitherward [are] their faces:Come in, and we are joined unto Yahweh, A covenant eonian--not forgotten."

² And many nations go and say:Go, and we will ascend to the mount of Yahweh, and to the house of the Elohim of Jacob, and He will direct us in His ways, and we will go in His paths. For from Zion shall fare forth the law, and the word of Yahweh from Jerusalem."

²⁰ Thus says Yahweh of hosts:Still it shall be that many peoples shall come, and the dwellers of many cities." ²¹ And the dwellers of five cities shall go to another city, saying, We are going assuredly to beseech the face of Yahweh, and to seek Yahweh of hosts; I am going, moreover." ²² And many peoples and staunch nations will come to seek Yahweh of hosts in Jerusalem, and to beseech the face of Yahweh." ²³ Thus says Yahweh of hosts:In those days ten mortals, from all the languages of the nations, will take fast hold. And they will take fast hold of the hem of a man, a Jew, saying, We will go with you, for we hear that Elohim is with you."

⁹ And I will bring the third into the fire. And I will refine them as silver is refined. And I will test them as gold is tested. It shall call in My name, and I will answer it. I will say, My people is it. And it will say, Yahweh is my Elohim."

⁵ and not according as we expect, but themselves they give first to the Lord, and to us through the will of God."

¹⁶ And whoever shall observe the elements by this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, also on the Israel of God."

⁹ Yet you are a chosen race, a "royal priesthood,a "holy nation,a procured people, so that you should be recounting the virtues of Him Who calls you out of darkness into His marvelous light,

³⁵ You were shown this to know that Yahweh, He is the only Elohim. There is no one else aside from Him.

³⁹ so you know today, and you recall it to your heart that Yahweh, He is the only Elohim in the heavens above and on the earth beneath; there is no one else.

⁴ Hear, Israel! Yahweh is our Elohim; Yahweh the only One.

³⁹ See now that I, I am He, and there is no other elohim besides Me. I Myself put to death, and I keep alive; I have transfixed, and I Myself shall heal, and there is no one who could reclaim from My hand!"

²² For Yahweh is our Judge, and Yahweh is our Statute Maker, and Yahweh is our King; He will save us!"

¹⁶ Yahweh of hosts, the Elohim of Israel, dwelling between the cherubim, You are He Who is the Elohim; You alone are for all the kingdoms of the earth. You have made the heavens and the earth."

²⁰ And now, Yahweh, our Elohim, pray, save us, from his hand, and all the kingdoms of the earth shall know that You, Yahweh, are Elohim, You alone."

⁴ Who contrives and does these things, calling generations from the beginning? I, Yahweh, the First, and to the last times I am He!"

²¹ Bring your contention near!saying is Yahweh Elohim, "Bring your counselors close,saying is the King of Jacob."

⁸ I am Yahweh, The Elohim! That is My name, and I will not give My glory to another, nor My praises to carvings."

¹⁰ You are My witnesses,averring is Yahweh Elohim, "And My servant whom I have chosen, that you may know and will believe Me, and understand that I am He:Before Me was formed no El. And after Me none shall come." ¹¹ I, I, Yahweh am El! And there is no Saviour apart from Me."

¹⁴ Thus says Yahweh, your Redeemer, The Holy One of Israel:"On your account I send to Babylon and I bring down the fugitives, all of them, and the Chaldeans, in ships of their jubilation." ¹⁵ I am Yahweh Elohim, your Holy One, Creator of Israel, your King."

⁸ You must not be afraid! And you must not fear! Have I not hitherto announced it to you, and told it? And you are My witnesses. Forsooth, is there an Eloah apart from Me? And no other Rock is there. I fail to know of any."

⁵ I am Yahweh Elohim, and there is none else. There is no Elohim except Me. I am belting you, yet you do not know Me." ⁶ That they may know, from the rising of the sun and from the west, that there is a limit apart from Me. I am Yahweh Elohim, and there is none else."

²¹ Tell, and bring them close. Indeed, they shall consult together. Who announced this from aforetime? Hitherto, Who told it? Not I, Yahweh? And no one else is Elohim, apart from Me. An El, just, and a Saviour. And none is there, except Me." ²² Face to Me and be saved, all the limits of the earth, for I am El, and there is none else."

¹² Hearken to Me, Jacob, My servant, and Israel, My called. I am He! I am the First! Indeed, I am the Last!"

¹⁷ Thus says Yahweh, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, "I, Yahweh, your Elohim, will teach you to benefit, causing you to tread in the way in which you shall go."

⁵ For your Possessor is your Maker. Yahweh of hosts is His name. And your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel. The Elohim of the entire earth shall He be called.

²⁰ And there comes to Zion the Redeemer, and "He shall turn back transgression from Jacob,averring is Yahweh."

³⁴ Their Redeemer [is] strong, Yahweh of Hosts [is] His name, He does thoroughly plead their cause, So as to cause the land to rest, And He has given trouble to the inhabitants of Babylon."

¹⁴ And cursed be the plotter, when there is a male in his drove, and his vow is on him, yet he is sacrificing what is ruined to Yahweh. For a great King am I, says Yahweh of hosts, and My name is feared among the nations."

³⁴ Then shall the King be declaring to those at His right, 'Hither, blessed of My Father! Enjoy the allotment of the kingdom made ready for you from the disruption of the world."

³⁷ And they place above His head His charge written: "This is Jesus, the King of the Jews."

¹⁶ And avowedly great is the secret of devoutness, which was manifested in flesh, justified in spirit, seen by messengers, heralded among the nations, believed in the world, taken up in glory."

⁸ I am the Alpha and the Omega,is saying the Lord God, Who is and Who was and Who is coming, the Almighty."

¹¹ saying, "What you are observing write into a scroll and send it to the seven ecclesias: to Ephesus and to Smyrna and to Pergamum and to Thyatira and to Sardis and to Philadelphia and to Laodicea."

¹⁷ And when I perceived Him, I fall at His feet as dead. And He places His right hand on me, saying, "Do not fear! I am the First and the Last, ¹⁸ and the Living One: and I became dead, and lo! living am I for the eons of the eons. (Amen!) And I have the keys of death and of the unseen."

⁸ And to the messenger of the ecclesia in Smyrna write: `Now, this He is saying Who is the First and the Last, Who became dead, and lives:"

¹³ I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Origin and the Consummation."

⁷ And I set up My covenant between Me and you, and your seed after you, for their generations, for a covenant eonian, to become your Elohim and your seed's after you. ⁸ And I give to you and to your seed after you the land of your sojournings, all the land of Canaan, for a holding eonian. And I become their Elohim.

⁸ When the Supreme gave the nations allotments, when He parted the sons of Adam, He stationed the boundaries of the peoples according to the number of the sons of El.

²² Let them bring them close, and tell us what will happen. The former things, what they were, let them tell. And We will set our heart on them and know their hereafter. Or the coming things announce to Us."

²⁶ Who tells from the beginning, so We will know? And from beforetime, so We will say `Right'? Indeed, there is no telling; indeed, no announcing. Indeed, no one is hearing your sayings,

⁹ All the nations are convened together, and gathered shall be the folkstems. Who among them will tell this, and former things will announce to Us? They will give their testimonies and be just. And they will hear and say, `Truth.'"

¹² I tell and save and announce. And an alien is not among you. And you are My witnesses,averring is Yahweh, "And I am El."

²¹ Tell, and bring them close. Indeed, they shall consult together. Who announced this from aforetime? Hitherto, Who told it? Not I, Yahweh? And no one else is Elohim, apart from Me. An El, just, and a Saviour. And none is there, except Me."

⁹ Remember the first things from the eon, for I am the El, and there is no further Elohim, and the limit is as Me." ¹⁰ Telling from the beginning, the hereafter, and from aforetime, what has not yet been done. Saying, `All My counsel shall be confirmed, and all My desire will I do.'"

³ The first things hitherto I foretold, and from My mouth they fared forth. Then I am announcing them. Suddenly I do them. And they shall come to pass." ⁴ From what I know, you are obstinate, and a sinew of iron is your scruff. And your forehead is copper." ⁵ Yet I was telling it to you hitherto; ere it is coming, I announced it to you, lest you should say, `My grief fetish did them. And my carving and my molten image instructs them.'" <sup>6</sup> You have heard! You perceive it all! Yet you, are you not telling? I announce to you new things henceforth, and things preserved, yet you do not know them." <sup>7</sup> Now are they created, yet not hitherto. Yet before their day, then you did not hear them, lest you should say, `Behold! I knew them.'" ⁸ And moreover, you did not hear! Moreover, you did not know! Moreover, hitherto, I did not open your ear. For I know that you are treacherous, and a transgressor, from the belly, are you called."

²⁶ Besides, He makes out of one every nation of mankind, to be dwelling on all the surface of the earth, specifying the setting of the seasons and the bounds of their dwelling, for them to be seeking God, if, consequently,

¹³ And saying is He to Abram, "Knowing, yea, knowing are you that a sojourner is your seed to become in a land not theirs, and they are to serve them. Yet evil shall they do to them and humiliate them four hundred years. ¹⁴ Moreover, also, the nation which they are serving will I adjudicate. And afterward they are to fare forth hither with great goods. ¹⁵ Yet you shall come to your forefathers in peace, and be entombed at a good grey-haired age. ¹⁶ And in the fourth generation they shall return hither, for the depravity of the Amorites has not been repaid hitherto. ¹⁷ When the sun comes to set, and twilight comes, then, behold, a smoking stove, and a torch of fire which passes between these severed parts. ¹⁸ In that day Yahweh contracted a covenant with Abram, saying, "To your seed I give this land, from the stream of Egypt as far as the great stream, the stream Euphrates, ¹⁹ the Cainite and the Kenizite and the Kadmonite ²⁰ and the Hittite and the Perizzite and the Rephaim ²¹ and the Amorite and the Canaanite and the Hivite and the Girgashite and the Jebusite.

¹³ And behold! Yahweh is stationed on it. And saying is He, "I am Yahweh, the Elohim of Abraham, your forefather, and the Elohim of Isaac. Do not fear. The land on which you are lying, to you will I give it, and to your seed. ¹⁴ And become shall your seed as the soil of the land. And breach forth will you seaward and eastward and northward and toward the south-rim. And blessed, in you, are all the families of the ground, and in your seed. ¹⁵ And behold! I am with you, and keep you in every way which you shall go, and will restore you to this ground, for not forsake you will I, till I should do all which I have spoken to you.

³ And saying is He, "I am the El, the Elohim of your forefather. You must not fear to go down to Egypt, for a great nation will I constitute you there.

¹⁹ And refusing is his father and saying, "I know, my son! I know! Moreover, he shall become a people, and he shall become great. Howbeit, his smaller brother shall be greater than he. And his seed shall become a fullness of the nations.

¹ And calling is Jacob to his sons and saying, "Gather, and I will tell you what will meet you in the days hereafter. ² Convene and hear, sons of Jacob, and hearken to Israel, your father. ³ Reuben, my firstborn, you are my vigor, and the beginning of my virility, with a surplus for bearing and a surplus of strength. ⁴ Ebullient as water, you must not have a surplus! For up you went to the bed of your father. Then you violated my berth to which you went up. ⁵ Simeon and Levi are brothers. They concluded violence out of their covenants. ⁶ Into their deliberation you must not come, my soul! And in their assembly you must not contend, my glory. For in their anger they killed men, and in their acceptance they felled a chief. ⁷ Cursed is their anger, for it was strong. And their rage, for it was obstinate. Apportion them will I in Jacob, and scatter them in Israel. ⁸ Judah, you and your brothers will acclaim. Your hands shall be on the scruff of your enemies. Prostrate to you shall the sons of your father. ⁹ The whelp of a lion is Judah. From the prey, my son, bow will he, recline as a lion. And as a parent lion, who will make him rise? ¹⁰ Not withdraw shall the sceptre from Judah, nor a statue-maker's staff from between his feet, till it be that ease shall come to him. And to it shall the expectation of the people be. ¹¹ Bind to a vine will he his colt, and to a yellow muscat grape the foal of his she-ass, he rinses in wine his apparel, and in the blood of grapes his coverlet. ¹² Flushed will be his eyes from wine, and white, his teeth, from milk. ¹³ Zebulon at a port of the seas shall tabernacle, and at a port for ships with its flank unto Sidon. ¹⁴ Issachar covets pleasantness, recline will he between the hearthstones, an. ¹⁵ see a resting place that is good, and a land that is pleasant, yet stretch out will he his shoulder for a burden, and become will he a servant under a labor levy. ¹⁶ Dan shall adjudicate his people, as one of the tribes of Israel. ¹⁷ Become shall Dan a serpent on a way, a horned snake on a path, that bites the heels of a horse, and fall shall its rider backward. ¹⁸ For Your salvation I expect, Yahweh!" ¹⁹ Gad--a raiding party shall `raid' him, yet he shall raid their heels, ²⁰ Asher--stout shall be his bread, and he will provide royal luxuries. ²¹ Naphtali is a oak stretched out, the giver of products that are seemly. ²² A fruitful son is Joseph, a fruitful son, joy of my eye, my son, inferior, to me has returned, ²³ and bitter were they with him, and contended and begrudging him were the archers, ²⁴ yet broken in virility is their bow, and slack are the arms of their hands. From the hands of the Sturdy One of Jacob, thence is the Shepherd, the Stone of Israel, ²⁵ from the El of your father, and your Helper, and He Who-Suffices, and your Blesser, blessings of the heavens from above, blessings of the submerged chaos reclining beneath, blessings of the breasts and the womb, ²⁶ blessings of your father and your mother. Master are they over the blessings of my mountains, unto the yearning of the eonian hills, coming are they on the head of Joseph, and on the crown of the governor of his brothers. ²⁷ Benjamin is a wolf, tearing to pieces. In the morning he'll devour further, and in the evening he'll apportion the loot. ²⁸ All these are the twelve tribes of Israel. And this is what their father speaks to them, when he is blessing them. Each man according to his blessing he blesses them.

¹ You shall not make forbidden idols for yourselves, nor set up carvings and monuments for yourselves, nor put a stone picture in your land to bow yourself down before it, for I, Yahweh, am your Elohim. ² Instead My sabbaths shall you observe, and My sanctuary shall you fear:I am Yahweh. ³ If you walk by My statutes and observe My instructions and keep them, ⁴ then I will give your downpours in their season, and the land will give its crop, and the tree of the field shall give its fruit. ⁵ Your threshing will overtake the vintage, and the vintage, it shall overtake the sowing; you will eat your bread to satisfaction and dwell in trust in your land. ⁶ I will give peace in the land, and you will lie down with no one making you tremble; I will eradicate the vicious animal from the land, and no sword shall pass through your land. ⁷ You will pursue your enemies, and they will fall before you by the sword;" ⁸ five of you will pursue a hundred, and a hundred of you shall pursue a myriad, and your enemies will fall before you by the sword. ⁹ I will countenance you, make you fruitful, increase you and confirm My covenant with you. ¹⁰ You will eat stored stores and bring forth the stores in view of the new. ¹¹ I will put My tabernacle in your midst, and My soul shall not loathe you. ¹² I will walk about in your midst and will be your Elohim and you, you shall be My people. ¹³ I, Yahweh, am your Elohim Who brought you forth from the land of Egypt, from being servants to them. I have broken the slider bars of your yoke and enabled you to walk upraised. ¹⁴ Yet if you neither hearken to Me nor observe all these instructions, ¹⁵ and if you reject My statutes, and if your soul loathes My judgments so as not to observe all My instructions, to cause you to annul My covenant, ¹⁶ indeed, I Myself shall do this to you:I will visit panic upon you, attenuation and fever, making the eyesight vanish and causing the soul to pine; and you will sow your seed for naught, for your enemies will eat it. ¹⁷ I will set My face against you, and you will be struck down before your enemies; those hating you will hold sway over you, and you will flee even when there is no one pursuing you. ¹⁸ And if, after these things, you should not hearken to Me, then I will continue to discipline you sevenfold for your sins. ¹⁹ I will break the pomp of your strength and make your heavens like iron and your land like copper. ²⁰ Your vigor will be spent for naught, and your land shall not give its crop, and the tree of the field shall not give its fruit. ²¹ If you go contrary to Me and are not willing to hearken to Me, then I will add smitings to you sevenfold according to your sins. ²² I will send the animal of the field against you, and it will bereave you, cut off your domestic beasts and so decrease you that your roads will be desolated. ²³ If by these you should not be disciplined for Me and go contrary to Me, ²⁴ then I will, indeed, go contrary to you, and I Myself will even smite you sevenfold for your sins. ²⁵ I will bring the sword on you avenging the vengeance of the covenant. When you will be gathered into your cities then I will send the plague into your midst, and you will be given into the hand of the enemy. ²⁶ When I break the stock of bread for you then ten women will bake your bread in one stove and return your bread by weight so that you will eat and not be satisfied. ²⁷ If by this you should not hearken to Me and go contrary to Me, ²⁸ then I will go contrary to you in fury. And I Myself, indeed, will discipline you sevenfold for your sins. ²⁹ You will eat the flesh of your sons, and the flesh of your daughters shall you eat. ³⁰ I will exterminate your fane heights, cut down your incense stands and bestow your corpses upon the corpses of your idol clods; thus My soul will loathe you. ³¹ I will turn your cities into a desert and make your sanctuary desolate; I shall not smell your fragrant odor. ³² I will make the land so desolate, that your enemies, the ones dwelling in it, will be dejected over it. ³³ And you I shall winnow among the nations, and I will unsheathe a sword after you so that your land will become a desolation and your cities become a desert. ³⁴ Then the land shall accept its sabbaths all the days of its desolation when you are in the land of your enemies. Then the land shall pause for a sabbath and cause its missing sabbaths to be accepted. ³⁵ All the days of its desolation it shall pause for a sabbath, which days it did not pause in your sabbath years when you dwelt on it. ³⁶ As for the remainder among you, I will also bring timidity into their heart in the lands of their enemies so that the sound of a leaf being whisked away will pursue them, and they will flee as if in flight from the sword; they will fall even when there is no one pursuing. ³⁷ They will stumble, a man over his brother, as though in view of the sword when there is no pursuer, and you shall come to have no standing space before your enemies. ³⁸ You will perish among the nations, and the land of your enemies will devour you. ³⁹ The remainder among you shall be putrid over their depravity in the lands of your enemies, and also over the depravities of their fathers with them shall they be putrid. ⁴⁰ If they will confess their depravity and the depravity of their fathers in their offense (when they had offended Me and, indeed, when they had gone contrary to M. ⁴¹ so that I Myself also went contrary to them and brought them into the land of their enemies), if then their uncircumcised heart should submit, and if then they should accept their depravity, ⁴² then I will remember My covenant with Jacob and also My covenant with Isaac; also My covenant with Abraham shall I remember, and the land shall I remember. ⁴³ Yet the land, it shall be forsaken of them and shall accept its sabbath years while it is desolate without them, and they themselves shall accept their depravity because, yes because they had rejected My judgments and their soul had loathed My statutes. ⁴⁴ Yet in spite of this, when they are in the land of their enemies I will not reject them nor loathe them so as to finish them, to annul My covenant with them, for I, Yahweh, am their Elohim. ⁴⁵ For their benefit I will remember the covenant with the former ones whom I brought forth from the land of Egypt before the eyes of the nations to be their Elohim; I am Yahweh. ⁴⁶ These are the statutes, the judgments and the laws which Yahweh put between Him and the sons of Israel on Mount Sinai by means of Moses.

²⁵ When you beget sons and sons of sons, and find repose in the land and then become corrupt and make a carving, a physical representation of anything, and do evil in the eyes of Yahweh your Elohim so as to provoke Him to vexatio. ²⁶ I testify against you today by the heavens and the earth, that you shall perish, yea perish quickly off the land where you are crossing over the Jordan to tenant it. You shall not prolong your days on it, for you shall be exterminated, yea exterminated. ²⁷ Yahweh will cause you to scatter among the peoples, and you will remain adult males of a small number among the nations where Yahweh shall lead you. ²⁸ And there you will serve other elohim, the work of human hands, of wood and stone which are neither seeing nor hearing, neither eating nor smelling. ²⁹ Yet from there you will seek Yahweh your Elohim and find Him when you inquire for Him with all your heart and with all your soul. ³⁰ In your distress, when all these things find you in the latter days, then you will return to Yahweh your Elohim and hearken to His voice. ³¹ For Yahweh your Elohim is a compassionate El. He shall neither neglect you nor bring ruin on you, nor shall He forget the covenant of your fathers about which He had sworn to them.

¹ It will come to be if you should hearken, yea hearken to the voice of Yahweh your Elohim, to observe and to keep all His instructions which I am enjoining on you today, that Yahweh your Elohim will give you supremacy over all the nations of the earth. ² And all these blessings will come on you and overtake you in case you should hearken to the voice of Yahweh your Elohim. ³ Blessed be you in the city, and blessed be you in the field. ⁴ Blessed be the fruit of your belly, the fruit of your ground and the fruit of your beast, the calving of your domestic animals and the lambing of your flock. ⁵ Blessed be your basket and your kneading-trough. ⁶ Blessed be you in your coming in, and blessed be you in your going forth. ⁷ Yahweh shall make your enemies who are rising against you to be struck down before you. By a single road shall they come forth to you, and by seven roads shall they flee before you. ⁸ Yahweh shall instruct the blessing to be with you in your granaries and in every undertaking of your hand, and He will bless you in the land that Yahweh your Elohim is giving to you. ⁹ Yahweh shall raise you as a people holy to Himself, just as He had sworn to you, in case you should observe the instructions of Yahweh your Elohim, and walk in His ways, ¹⁰ so that all the peoples of the earth will see that the name of Yahweh is proclaimed over you, and they will fear you. ¹¹ Then through the fruit of your belly, the fruit of your domestic beast and the fruit of your ground, Yahweh will give you surplus in goods on the ground about which Yahweh had sworn to your fathers to give to you. ¹² Yahweh shall open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give rain to your land in its season and to bless every work of your hand. You will obligate many nations, yet you shall not borrow. ¹³ So Yahweh will make you to be the head and not the tail, and you will surely be above, and you shall not be below, in case you should hearken to the instructions of Yahweh your Elohim that I am enjoining on you today, to observe and to obey. ¹⁴ You shall not withdraw from any of the words which I am instructing you today, neither to the right nor left, to go after other elohim to serve them. ¹⁵ It will come to be if you do not hearken to the voice of Yahweh your Elohim to observe and to do all His instructions and His statutes that I am enjoining on you today, that all these maledictions will come on you and overtake you. ¹⁶ Cursed be you in the city, and cursed be you in the field. ¹⁷ Cursed be your basket and your kneading-trough. ¹⁸ Cursed be the fruit of your belly, the fruit of your ground and the fruit of your beast, the calving of your domestic animals and the lambing of your flock. ¹⁹ Cursed be you in your coming in, and cursed be you in your going forth. ²⁰ Yahweh shall send the curse, the discomfiture and the rebuke on you in every undertaking of your hand that you shall do, until you are exterminated and you perish quickly, in view of the evil of your actions in which you have forsaken Me. ²¹ Yahweh shall cause the plague to cling to you until He finishes you off the ground where you are entering to tenant it. ²² Yahweh shall smite you with attenuation, with fever and inflammation, with hot heat and drought, with blasting and mildew, and they will pursue you until you perish. ²³ Your heavens that are over your head will come to be as copper, and the earth that is beneath you as iron. ²⁴ Yahweh shall make the rain of your land to be dust and soil-drifts; from the heavens it shall descend on you until you are exterminated. ²⁵ Yahweh shall make you to be struck down before your enemies. By a single road shall you go forth to them, and by seven roads shall you flee before them. So you will become an object of commotion to all the kingdoms of the earth. ²⁶ Your carcass will become food for every flyer of the heavens and for the beast of the earth, and there will be no one causing them to tremble. ²⁷ Yahweh shall smite you with the boil of Egypt, with piles, with eczema and with the itch, from which you cannot be healed. ²⁸ Yahweh shall smite you with madness, with blindness and with derangement of heart;" ²⁹ and you will come to be groping at noon just as the blind one gropes in the gloom, and you shall not prosper in your ways and will only become extorted and pillaged all the days, and there will be no saviour. ³⁰ A wife shall you betroth, yet another man shall ravish her. A house shall you build, yet you shall not dwell in it. A vineyard shall you plant, yet you shall not take it for profane use. ³¹ Your bull shall be slaughtered before your eyes, yet you shall not eat of it. Your donkey shall be snatched from before you, yet it shall not return to you. Your flock shall be given to your enemies, yet there will be no saviour for you. ³² Your sons and your daughters shall be given to another people, and your eyes shall be staring and wasting away for them all the day, yet there will be nothing at the disposal of your hand. ³³ A people you do not know shall devour the fruit of your ground and all your labor, and you will surely be extorted and bruised all the days, ³⁴ so that you will become mad because of the sight of your eyes that you shall see. ³⁵ Yahweh shall smite you with an evil boil on both the knees and on both the legs, of which you cannot be healed, from the sole of your foot and unto your scalp. ³⁶ Yahweh shall conduct you and your king, whom you shall set up over you, to a nation whom you have not known, neither you nor your fathers, and you will serve there other elohim of wood and stone. ³⁷ You will become an object of astonishment, a proverb and a byword among all the peoples where Yahweh shall lead you. ³⁸ Much seed shall you bring forth to the field, yet little shall you gather, for the locust shall eat it up. ³⁹ You shall plant vineyards, and you will service them, yet you shall neither drink the wine, nor shall you hoard it, for the worm shall devour it. ⁴⁰ You shall come to have olives in all your territory, yet you shall not rub yourself with oil because your olives shall drop off. ⁴¹ You shall generate sons and daughters, yet they shall not become yours, for they shall go into captivity. ⁴² The cicada shall make all your trees and the fruit of your ground destitute. ⁴³ The sojourner who is among you shall ascend over you upward and upward, yet you shall descend downward and downward. ⁴⁴ He shall obligate you, yet you shall not obligate him. He shall become the head, and you shall become the tail. ⁴⁵ All the maledictions will come on you, and they will pursue you and overtake you until you are exterminated, for you would not hearken to the voice of Yahweh your Elohim to observe His instructions and His statutes that He enjoined on you. ⁴⁶ They will be a sign and a miracle against you and your seed until the eon. ⁴⁷ Inasmuch as you would not serve Yahweh your Elohim with rejoicing and with goodness of heart over the abundance of everything, ⁴⁸ then you will serve your enemies whom Yahweh shall send forth against you, in famine and in thirst, in nakedness and in lack of everything. He will put an iron yoke on your neck until He has exterminated you. ⁴⁹ Yahweh shall lift up against you a nation from afar, from the end of the earth, just as the vulture swoops down, a nation whose tongue you have not heard, ⁵⁰ a nation strong of face who neither lifts the face of the old one with partiality nor is gracious to the youth. ⁵¹ It will devour the fruit of your beast and the fruit of your ground until you are exterminated, a nation who shall not let grain, grape juice or clarified oil, the calving of your domestic animals or the lambing of your flock remain for you, until it destroys you. ⁵² It will lay siege against you in all your gates until your lofty and defended walls in which you will be trusting come down in all your land; and he will lay siege against you in all your gates in all your land that Yahweh your Elohim will have given to you. ⁵³ Then you will eat the fruit of your own belly, the flesh of your sons and your daughters whom Yahweh your Elohim will have given to you, in the siege and in the constraint with which your enemy shall constrain you. ⁵⁴ The tender-hearted man among you and the one very fastidious, his eye shall be evil toward his brother and toward the wife of his bosom and toward the rest of his sons whom he shall have left, ⁵⁵ so as to keep from giving to one of them the flesh of his sons that he is eating because nothing at all remains for him in the siege and in the constraint with which your enemy shall constrain you in all your gates. ⁵⁶ The tender-hearted woman among you, and the fastidious one, who would not try to put the sole of her foot on the earth because of fastidiousness and tenderness, her eye shall be evil toward the husband of her bosom and toward her son and toward her daughter, ⁵⁷ even for her afterbirth coming forth from between her feet, even for her sons whom she is bearing, for she shall eat them for lack of everything, in concealment during the siege and during the constraint with which your enemy shall constrain you in your gates. ⁵⁸ Should you not observe to obey all the words of this law, the ones written in this scroll, to fear the name of this glorified and fear-inspiring One, Yahweh your Elohim, ⁵⁹ then Yahweh will make your smitings and the smitings of your seed extraordinary:smitings that are great and constant, and illnesses that are bad and constant. ⁶⁰ Thus He will bring back to you every disease of Egypt from the presence of which you shrank away, and they will cling to you. ⁶¹ Moreover, every illness and every smiting that is not written in the scroll of this law, Yahweh shall bring them up on you until you are exterminated. ⁶² Thus you will remain few in adult males, whereas you would have become as the stars of the heavens for multitude, for you did not hearken to the voice of Yahweh your Elohim. ⁶³ So it will come to be, just as Yahweh was elated over you to bring you good and to let you increase, so Yahweh shall be elated over you to destroy you and to exterminate you, so that you will be swept away off the ground where you are entering to tenant it. ⁶⁴ And Yahweh will scatter you among all the peoples from one end of the earth unto the other end of the earth. There you will serve other elohim, those of wood and stone which you have not known, neither you nor your fathers. ⁶⁵ And among those nations you shall neither find respite, nor shall there be a resting place for the sole of your foot, and Yahweh will give to you there a disturbed heart, a failure of the eyes and pining of the soul. ⁶⁶ Then your lives will come to be hung in suspense in front of you. You will be afraid by night and by day, and you shall not put trust in your lives. ⁶⁷ In the morning you shall say:O that it were evening! And in the evening you shall say:O that it were morning! because of the awe of your heart with which you shall be afraid and because of the sight of your eyes which you shall see. ⁶⁸ Then Yahweh will bring you back complaining to Egypt by the way of which I said to you:You should not again see it further. There you will put yourselves up for sale to your enemies as servants and as maids, yet there will be no buyer.

⁴ The Rock--flawless is His contrivance, for all His ways are righteous judgment. The El of faithfulness and without iniquity; just and upright is He.

³¹ For their rock is not like our Rock; even our enemies are umpires.

² There is none holy like Yahweh, For there is none save You, And there is no rock like our Elohim.

³² For who is El save Yahweh? And who a Rock save our Elohim?

² Thus speaks Cyrus king of Persia:Yahweh Elohim of the heavens has given me all the kingdoms of the earth, and He Himself has committed to me to build for Him a House in Jerusalem, which is in Judah.

²² For I was ashamed to ask the king for soldiers and horsemen to help us against enemy attack on the way, since we had told the king, saying:The hand of our Elohim is over all those seeking Him for good; yet His strength and His anger are against all those forsaking Him.

³¹ For is there any Eloah apart from Yahweh? And is there any Rock except our Elohim?

²⁵ You shall certainly not fear sudden alarm Or the ruination of the wicked that is coming; ²⁶ For Yahweh Himself shall be your confidence, And He will keep your foot from seizure."

²⁹ A song is becoming yours, as of a night sanctifying a celebration, and rejoicing of heart, as one going with a flute to come into the mountain of Yahweh, to the Rock of Israel."

¹⁰ You must not fear, for I am with you, and you must not take heed for yourself, for I am your Elohim. I make you resolute; indeed, I help you. Indeed, I uphold you with the right hand of My righteousness.'" ¹¹ Behold! Ashamed and confounded shall all be who were hot with you. They are coming to be as nothing. And perish shall all mortals who contend with you. ¹² You shall seek them, yet shall not find them. And the mortals with whom you strive shall come to be as nothing, and a limit is reached by the mortals who war with you." ¹³ For I, Yahweh, your Elohim, am holding fast your right hand, saying to you, `You must not fear; I, I help you." ¹⁴ You must not fear, worm Jacob, and death-doomed of Israel, I, I help you,'averring is Yahweh, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel."

⁹ The former things; behold, they came! And the new things will I tell. Ere they are sprouting, I will announce them to you."

¹⁰ You are My witnesses,averring is Yahweh Elohim, "And My servant whom I have chosen, that you may know and will believe Me, and understand that I am He:Before Me was formed no El. And after Me none shall come."

² Thus says Yahweh Elohim, your Maker, and your Former from the belly, and your Helper:"You must not fear, My servant Jacob, and you Upright one whom I choose in him."

⁶ Thus says Yahweh, King of Israel, and his Redeemer, Yahweh of hosts is His name. "I am the First and I am the Last, and apart from Me there is no Elohim."

⁹ Remember the first things from the eon, for I am the El, and there is no further Elohim, and the limit is as Me."

⁵ Yet I was telling it to you hitherto; ere it is coming, I announced it to you, lest you should say, `My grief fetish did them. And my carving and my molten image instructs them.'"

⁷ Who does not fear You, king of the nations? For to You it is becoming, For among all the wise of the nations, And in all their kingdom there is none like You."

¹⁰ And you, be not afraid, My servant Jacob, An affirmation of Yahweh, Nor be affrighted, O Israel, For, lo, I am saving you from afar, And your seed from the land of their captivity, And Jacob has turned back and rested, And is quiet, and there is none troubling." ¹¹ For with you [am] I, An affirmation of Yahweh--to save you, For I make an end of all the nations Whither I have scattered you, Only, of you I do not make an end, And I have chastised you in judgment, And do not entirely acquit you."

²⁸ Actually, the Eloah in the heavens reveals secrets, and He makes known to king Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days. O king, live for the eon! Your dream, even the visions of your head on your bed; it is this:"

⁴⁷ Answering is the king to Daniel and saying, "In verity, your Eloah, He is the Eloah of elohim, Lord of kings, and only Revealer of hidden secrets, seeing that you can reveal this secret."

¹⁶ Answering are Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego and saying to king Nebuchadnezzar, "Not necessary is it for us to reply to you concerning this rescript." ¹⁷ Should it actually happen, our Eloah in the heavens, Whom we are serving, can deliver us from the glowing, flaming furnace; and from your hand, O king, will He deliver us." ¹⁸ Should He not, be it known to you, O king, that actually your elohim we will not serve, and the golden image that you set up we will not worship." ¹⁹ Then Nebuchadnezzar is full of fury, and the mien of his visage alters against Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego. He is answering and saying to heat the furnace seven units over what he perceives it to be already heated." ²⁰ And to the masters--masters of valor that are in his army--he says to truss up Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego and heave them into the glowing flaming furnace." ²¹ Then these masters truss them up in their mantles, their turbans on their heads, their garb and their clothing, and heave them into the midst of the glowing, flaming furnace." ²² Wherefore--because the king's matter is urgent, and the furnace heated redundantly, seven units more than aforetime--these masters who were chosen to truss them up and to approach the furnace and hoist Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego:Despatched are they by the flare of the flame." ²³ And these other masters, the three of them, Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego, fall trussed up into the midst of the glowing, flaming furnace. Yet they are walking in the midst of the flame, singing hymns to Eloah and blessing Yahweh." ²⁴ Then king Nebuchadnezzar marks it and rises in a fluster. Responding and saying is he to his retinue, "Did we not heave three masters, trussed up, into the midst of the flame?They are answering and saying to the king, "Certainly, O king!" ²⁵ He is answering and saying, "Aha! I am perceiving four masters, untied, walking about in the midst of the flame, and actually, not one among them is harmed! And the appearance of the fourth is like a son of Elohim." ²⁶ Then king Nebuchadnezzar draws near to the door of the glowing flaming furnace and is responding and saying, "Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego, servants of Him Who is the Supreme Eloah of Elohim, step out and come hither.Then out are stepping Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego from the midst of the flame." ²⁷ Now assembling are the satraps, prefects and viceroys and the king's retinue and are perceiving these masters, that the flame has no authority over their frames:The hair of their head it does not singe, their mantles it does not alter, and further, the smell of flame is not on them." ²⁸ Responding is king Nebuchadnezzar and saying, "Blessed be their Eloah--that of Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego--Who sent His messenger and delivered His servants who are relying on Him, when they alter the king's declaration. They granted their frames to the fire, seeing that they will not serve, neither worship any other eloah, only their Eloah."

²⁵ for they shall shove you from mortals, and with the animals of the field is to be your abode, and herbage will they feed to you, as oxen, and with the night mist of the heavens will you be streaked; thus seven seasons shall pass on over you till you shall know that the Supreme is in authority in the kingdom of mortals, and that to whom He is willing He is giving it."

²³ Over the Lord, the Eloah of the heavens, you exalt yourself; the vessels of His house they bring hither before you; you and your grandees, your consorts and your concubines are drinking turbid wine from them. Also elohim of silver, gold, copper, iron, wood, and stone who are not perceiving and not hearing and not knowing, these you laud, yet the Eloah in Whose hand is your breath, and for Whom are all your paths, Him you do not honor." ²⁴ From before Him then is being sent the fingertip of that hand and is this writing signified. ²⁵ Now this is the writing that is signified:MNA MNA THUQL U PHURSIN" ²⁶ and this is the interpretation of the matter:MNA, an accounting has the Eloah made of your kingdom and He balances it;" ²⁷ THUQL, weighed are you on the scales and found lacking;" ²⁸ PHURS, bisected is your kingdom and it will be granted to the Medes and Persians." ²⁹ Then, at Belshazzar's order, they clothe Daniel in purple, with a circlet of gold about his neck, and they proclaim concerning him that he is the third authority in the kingdom." ³⁰ In the same night Belshazzar is despatched, the king of the Chaldeans. Thus the interpretation comes on Belshazzar the king:The kingdom is taken away from the Chaldeans and given to the Medes and Persians."

²² My Eloah sent His messenger, and he closed the mouths of the lions that they could not harm me; forasmuch as before Him it is found that I am purged; and indeed, also before you, O king, no harm have I done."

²⁷ You shall know that within Israel am I, and I am Yahweh, your Elohim, and there is none else beside Me. And My people shall not be ashamed for the eon."

¹ In the beginning was the word, and the word was toward God, and God was the word. "

¹⁰ Yet Jesus said, "Make the people lean back.Now there was much grass in the place. The people, then, lean back, the men in number about five thousand."

³⁰ I and the Father, We are one."

⁸ But you shall be obtaining power at the coming of the holy spirit on you, and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem and in entire Judea and Samaria, as far as the limits of the earth."

¹⁵ and saying, "Men! Why are you doing these things? We also are men, of like emotions as you, bringing the evangel to you to turn you back from these vain things to the living God, Who makes heaven and the earth and the sea and all that is in them,

²³ For, passing through and contemplating the objects of your veneration, I found a pedestal also, on which had been inscribed, 'To an Unknowable God.' To Whom then, you are ignorantly devout, This One am I announcing to you." ²⁴ The God Who makes the world and all that is in it, He, the Lord inherent of heaven and earth, is not dwelling in temples made by hands, ²⁵ neither is He attended by human hands, as if requiring anything, since He Himself gives to all life and breath and all." ²⁶ Besides, He makes out of one every nation of mankind, to be dwelling on all the surface of the earth, specifying the setting of the seasons and the bounds of their dwelling, for them to be seeking God, if, consequently, ²⁷ they may surely grope for Him and may be finding Him, though to be sure, not far from each one of us is He inherent, ²⁸ for in Him we are living and moving and are, as some poets of yours also have declared, 'For of that race also are we.'" ²⁹ The race, then, is inherently of God; we ought not to be inferring that the Divine is like gold, or silver, or stone, a sculpture of art and human sentiment." ³⁰ Indeed, then, condoning the times of ignorance, God is now charging mankind that all everywhere are to repent, ³¹ forasmuch as He assigns a day in which He is about to be judging the inhabited earth in righteousness by the Man Whom He specifies, tendering faith to all, raising Him from among the dead - "

¹ Surely, in consequence, then, we also, having so vast a cloud of witnesses encompassing us, putting off every impediment and the popular sin, may be racing with endurance the contest lying before us,

² And the life was manifested, and we have seen and are testifying and reporting to you the life eonian which was toward the Father and was manifested to us."

¹⁵ Cursed be the man who makes a carving or a molten image, an abhorrence to Yahweh, the work of an artificer's hands, and places it in concealment. Then all the people will respond and say:Amen!"

¹⁴ Go and cry unto the elohims on which you have fixed; they--they save you in the time of your adversity.'

²⁶ And they take the bullock that [one] gave to them, and prepare, and call in the name of Baal from the morning even till the noon, saying, `O Baal, answer us!' and there is no voice, and there is none answering; and they leap on the altar that one had made. <sup>27</sup> And it comes to pass, at noon, that Elijah plays on them, and said, `Call with a loud voice, for he [is] an elohim, for he is meditating, or pursuing, or on a journey; it may be he is asleep, an does awake.. ²⁸ And they call with a loud voice, and cut themselves, according to their ordinance, with swords and with spears, till a flowing of blood [is] on them;" ²⁹ and it comes to pass, at the passing by of the noon, that they feign themselves prophets till the going up of the present, and there is no voice, and there is none answering, and there is none attending. ³⁰ And Elijah said to all the people, `Come nigh unto me;' and all the people come nigh unto him, and he repairs the altar of Yahweh that is broken down;" <sup>31</sup> and Elijah takes twelve stones, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob, unto whom the word of Yahweh was, saying, `Israel is your name;. ³² and he builds with the stones an altar, in the name of Yahweh, and makes a trench, as about the space of two measures of seed, round about the altar. ³³ And he arranges the wood, and cuts in pieces the bullock, and places [it] on the wood, and said, `Fill you four pitchers of water, and pour on the burnt-offering, and on the wood;" <sup>34</sup> and he said, `Do [it] a second time;' and they do [it] a second time; and he said, `Do [it] a third time;' and they do [it] a third time;" <sup>35</sup> and the water goes round about the altar, and also, the trench he has filled with water. <sup>36</sup> And it comes to pass, at the going up of the [evening -]present, that Elijah the prophet comes nigh and said, `Yahweh, Elohim of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, to-day let it be known that You [are] Elohim in Israel, and I Your servant, that by Your word I have done the whole of these things;" ³⁷ answer me, O Yahweh, answer me, and this people does know that You [are] Yahweh Elohim; and You have turned their heart backward.. ³⁸ And there falls a fire of Yahweh, and consumes the burnt-offering, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and the water that [is] in the trench it has licked up. ³⁹ And all the people see, and fall on their faces, and say, `Yahweh, He [is] the Elohim, Yahweh, He [is] the Elohim.. <sup>40</sup> And Elijah said to them, `Catch you the prophets of Baal; let not a man escape of them;' and they catch them, and Elijah brings them down unto the stream Kishon, and does slaughter them there.

⁷ May all the servants of a carving be ashamed, The ones boasting in useless idols; Bow down to Him, all you elohim."

⁸ Like them, may their makers become, All who are trusting in them."

¹⁸ Like them, may their makers become, All who are trusting in them."

²⁰ In that day humanity shall fling its forbidden idols of silver, and its forbidden idols of gold, which they make for it to worship, to the mole rats, and to the bats, ²¹ to come into the fissures of the rocks, and into the forks of the crags, from the face of awe-inspiring Yahweh, and from the honor of His pomp, when He rises to terrify the earth."

¹⁸ Truly, Yahweh, the kings of Assyria did drain all the nations, and their land, ¹⁹ and put their elohim into the fire, for no elohim are they, but rather the make of human hands, wood and stone, and they are destroying them." ²⁰ And now, Yahweh, our Elohim, pray, save us, from his hand, and all the kingdoms of the earth shall know that You, Yahweh, are Elohim, You alone."

²⁴ Behold! You are from nothing, and your contrivance is from ashes. An abhorrence is one choosing in you."

²⁹ Behold! All of them are nothing. And their doings are limited. Wind and chaos are their molten images.

¹⁸ You deaf, hear! And you blind, look, to see!"

⁸ Bring forth the blind people with eyes, forsooth, and the deaf, that have their ears."

¹⁸ They do not know, nor are they understanding, for He plasters their eyes, from seeing, and their hearts, from intelligence."

²⁰ Grazing on ashes, a trifling heart turns him aside. And he is not rescuing his soul, nor is he saying, "Is not a falsehood in my right hand?

²⁰ Convene and come! Close yourselves and arrive, delivered of the nations! They do not know, those carrying the wood, their carving, and praying to an el who is not a saviour."

¹ Bows Bel! Stoops Nebo! Their grief fetishes have come to be for the animal, and for the beast are your carriers laden. Their announcings are a load for the faint." ² They stoop. They bow together, and cannot escape the load, and their soul goes into captivity."

⁶ Squanderers of gold from a purse, and silver, with reed scales will they weigh. They will hire a refiner and he will make of it an el. And they will fall on their knees and face. Indeed, they will worship!" ⁷ And they will bear it on a shoulder, they shall be burdened with it. And they will leave it on its bottom, then it is standing. From its place it is not being removed. Indeed, he is crying to it, yet it is not answering. From his distress it will not save him."

¹¹ Has a nation changed elohims? (And they [are] no elohims!) And My people has changed its honor For that which does not profit.

²⁷ Saying to wood, `My father [are] you!' And to a stone, `You have brought me forth,' For they turned unto me the back and not the face, And in the time of their vexation, They say, `Arise You, and save us.'" ²⁸ And where [are] your elohims, that you have made to yourself? Let them arise, if they may save you, In the time of your vexation, For--the number of your cities have been your elohims, O Judah,

³ For the statutes of the peoples are vanity, For a tree from a forest has one cut, Work of the hands of an artificer, with an axe, ⁴ With silver and with gold they beautify it, With nails and with hammers they fix it, And it does not stumble." ⁵ As a palm they [are] stiff, and they speak not, They are surely borne, for they step not, Be not afraid of them, for they do no evil, Yea, also to do good is not in them." ⁶ Because there is none like You, O Yahweh, Great [are] You, and great Your name in might." ⁷ Who does not fear You, king of the nations? For to You it is becoming, For among all the wise of the nations, And in all their kingdom there is none like You." ⁸ And in one they are brutish and foolish, An instruction of vanities [is] the tree itself."

¹⁴ Brutish is every man by knowledge, Put to shame is every refiner by a graven image, For false [is] his molten image. And there is no breath in them." ¹⁵ Vanity [are] they, work of erring ones, In the time of their inspection they perish."

²² Are there among the vanities of the nations any causing rain? And do the heavens give showers? Are not You He, O Yahweh our Elohim? And we wait for you, for You--You have done all these!"

¹⁹ O Yahweh, my strength, and my fortress, And my refuge in a day of adversity, Unto You nations do come from the ends of earth, And say, Only falsehood did our fathers inherit, Vanity, and none among them is profitable." ²⁰ Does man make for himself elohims, And they--no elohims?

²³ Over the Lord, the Eloah of the heavens, you exalt yourself; the vessels of His house they bring hither before you; you and your grandees, your consorts and your concubines are drinking turbid wine from them. Also elohim of silver, gold, copper, iron, wood, and stone who are not perceiving and not hearing and not knowing, these you laud, yet the Eloah in Whose hand is your breath, and for Whom are all your paths, Him you do not honor."

³⁸ Yet the eloah of the strong in his post shall he glorify:An eloah whom his forefathers did not know, he will glorify with gold, silver, precious stones and coveted treasures."

⁴ They made kings, yet not from Me; they made chiefs, yet I did not know. Of their silver and their gold they made their grief fetishes, that they may be cut off." ⁵ Cast off your calf, Samaria! Hot is My anger against them. Till when are they being incapable of innocency? ⁶ For even this is from Israel; an artificer made it, and no Elohim is it, for backslidings are coming to be by your calf, Samaria."

¹⁸ What does a carving benefit, that its former has carved it? A molten image and a false apparition, that the former of its form trusts in it, to make mute forbidden idols? ¹⁹ Woe to him saying to the wood, Awake! Rouse! To the still stone, Be exalted! It is an apparition; behold it overspread with gold and silver, yet there is no spirit at all within it." ²⁰ Yet Yahweh is in His holy temple! Hist! all the earth, because of His presence!"

²² Alleging themselves to be wise, they are made stupid,

⁴ Then, concerning the feeding on the idol sacrifices: We are aware that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is no other God except One."

⁴ in whom the god of this eon blinds the apprehensions of the unbelieving so that the illumination of the evangel of the glory of Christ, Who is the Image of the invisible God, does not irradiate them."

¹⁸ their comprehension being darkened, being estranged from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the callousness of their hearts,

⁸ for you were once darkness, yet now you are light in the Lord."

²⁸ And the king takes counsel, and makes two calves of gold, and said unto them, `Enough to you of going up to Jerusalem; lo, your elohims, O Israel, which brought you up out of the land of Egypt..

⁵ As a palm they [are] stiff, and they speak not, They are surely borne, for they step not, Be not afraid of them, for they do no evil, Yea, also to do good is not in them."

¹ In the eighteenth year of Nebuchadnezzar, the king made an image of gold. Its height was sixty cubits and its breadth six cubits. He set it up in Dura valley in the province of Babylon."

¹⁴ Responding is Nebuchadnezzar and saying to them, "Is it intentional, Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego, that you are not actually serving my eloah, the golden image that I set up you are not worshiping?

¹⁸ What does a carving benefit, that its former has carved it? A molten image and a false apparition, that the former of its form trusts in it, to make mute forbidden idols?

²⁶ and you are beholding and hearing that, not only of Ephesus, but of almost the entire province of Asia, this Paul by his persuading causes a considerable throng to stand aloof, saying that they are not gods which are coming into being by means of hands."

²⁹ And they say one to another, `Who has done this thing?' and they inquire and seek, and they say, `Gideon son of Joash has done this thing.. ³⁰ And the men of the city say unto Joash, `Bring out your son, and he dies, because he has broken down the altar of Baal, and because he has cut down the shrine which [is] by it.. <sup>31</sup> And Joash said to all who have stood against him, `You, do you plead for Baal? you--do you save him? he who pleads for him is put to death during the morning; if he [is] an elohim he himself does plead against him, because he has broken down his altar.. ³² And he calls him, on that day, Jerubbaal, saying, `The Baal does plead against him, because he has broken down his altar..

²³ and the princes of the Philistines have been gathered together to sacrifice a great sacrifice to Dagon their elohim, and to rejoice; and they say, `Our elohim has given into our hand Samson our enemy.. <sup>24</sup> And the people see him, and praise their elohim, for they said, `Our elohim has given in our hand our enemy, and he who is laying waste our land, and who multiplied our wounded.. ²⁵ And it comes to pass, when their heart [is] glad, that they say, `Call for Samson, and he does play before us;' and they call for Samson out of the prison-house, and he plays before them, and they cause him to stand between the pillars. <sup>26</sup> And Samson said unto the young man who is keeping hold on his hand, `Let me alone, and let me feel the pillars on which the house is established, and I lean upon them.. ²⁷ And the house has been full of men and of women, and thither [are] all the princes of the Philistines, and on the roof [are] about three thousand men and women, who are looking on the playing of Samson. ²⁸ And Samson calls unto Yahweh, and said, `Lord Yahweh, remember me, I pray You, and strengthen me, I pray You, only this time, O Elohim; and I am avenged--vengeance at once--because of my two eyes, on the Philistines.. <sup>29</sup> And Samson turns aside [to] the two middle pillars, on which the house is established, and on which it is supported, [to] the one with his right hand, and one with his left;" <sup>30</sup> and Samson said, `Let me die with the Philistines,' and he inclines himself powerfully, and the house falls on the princes, and on all the people who [are] in it, and the dead whom he has put to death in his death are more than those whom he put to death in his life.

³ And the Ashdodites rise early on the morrow, and lo, Dagon is fallen on its face to the earth, before the ark of Yahweh; and they take Dagon, and put it back to its place. ⁴ And they rise early in the morning on the morrow, and lo, Dagon is fallen on its face to the earth, before the ark of Yahweh, and the head of Dagon, and the two palms of its hands are cut off at the threshold, only the fishy part has been left to him;" ⁵ therefore the priests of Dagon, and all those coming into the house of Dagon, tread not on the threshold of Dagon, in Ashdod, till this day. ⁶ And the hand of Yahweh is heavy on the Ashdodites, and He makes them desolate, and smites them with emerods, Ashdod and its borders. ⁷ And the men of Ashdod see that [it is] so, and have said, `The ark of the Elohim of Israel does not abide with us, for hard has been His hand upon us, and upon Dagon our elohim..

⁴ And they say, `What [is] the guilt-offering which we send back to Him?' and they say, `The number of the princes of the Philistines--five golden emerods, and five golden mice--for one plague [is] to you all, and to your princes, ⁵ and you have made images of your emerods, and images of your mice that are corrupting the land, and have given honor to the Elohim of Israel; it may be He does lighten His hand from off you, and from off your elohims, and from off your land;"

¹⁹ and now, send, gather unto me all Israel, unto the mount of Carmel, and the prophets of Baal four hundred and fifty, and the prophets of the shrine, four hundred--eating at the table of Jezebel.. ²⁰ And Ahab sends among all the sons of Israel, and gathers the prophets unto the mount of Carmel;" ²¹ and Elijah comes nigh unto all the people, and said, `Till when are you leaping on the two branches? --if Yahweh [is] Elohim, go after Him; and if Baal, go after him;' and the people have not answered him a word. <sup>22</sup> And Elijah said unto the people, `I--I have been left a prophet of Yahweh--by myself; and the prophets of Baal [are] four hundred and fifty men;" ²³ and let them give to us two bullocks, and they choose for themselves the one bullock, and cut it in pieces, and place [it] on the wood, and place no fire; and I--I prepare the other bullock, and have put [it] on the wood, and fire I do not place; -. ²⁴ and you have called in the name of your elohim, and I--I call in the name of Yahweh, and it has been, the elohim who answers by fire--He [is] the Elohim.' And all the people answer and say, `Good [is] the word.. <sup>25</sup> And Elijah said to the prophets of Baal, `Choose for you the one bullock, and prepare first, for you [are] the multitude, and call you in the name of your elohim, and place no fire.. ²⁶ And they take the bullock that [one] gave to them, and prepare, and call in the name of Baal from the morning even till the noon, saying, `O Baal, answer us!' and there is no voice, and there is none answering; and they leap on the altar that one had made. <sup>27</sup> And it comes to pass, at noon, that Elijah plays on them, and said, `Call with a loud voice, for he [is] an elohim, for he is meditating, or pursuing, or on a journey; it may be he is asleep, an does awake.. ²⁸ And they call with a loud voice, and cut themselves, according to their ordinance, with swords and with spears, till a flowing of blood [is] on them;" ²⁹ and it comes to pass, at the passing by of the noon, that they feign themselves prophets till the going up of the present, and there is no voice, and there is none answering, and there is none attending.

⁴⁰ And Elijah said to them, `Catch you the prophets of Baal; let not a man escape of them;' and they catch them, and Elijah brings them down unto the stream Kishon, and does slaughter them there.

²⁹ For they are ashamed because of the oaks which you covet, and they are abashed because of the gardens which you choose."

⁵ The coastlanders see, and are fearing. The ends of the earth are trembling. They draw near and are arriving together." ⁶ Each man is helping his associate, and to his brother is he saying, `Courage!'" <sup>7</sup> And the artificer is encouraging the refiner, the apportioner with the sledge, the hammerer on the anvil. One says of the soldering, `It is good!' And one is fortifying it with nails that it will not slip."

¹⁷ nor do I forsake them, when they are turned away back. Ashamed, yea ashamed shall be those trusting in a carving, who are saying to a molten image, `You are our elohim!'"

¹⁶ They are ashamed and even confounded, all of them together. And they go into confounding, artificers of forms."

²⁶ As the shame of a thief when he is found, So put to shame have been the house of Israel, They, their kings, their heads, And their priests, and their prophets, ²⁷ Saying to wood, `My father [are] you!' And to a stone, `You have brought me forth,' For they turned unto me the back and not the face, And in the time of their vexation, They say, `Arise You, and save us.'"

¹⁴ Brutish is every man by knowledge, Put to shame is every refiner by a graven image, For false [is] his molten image. And there is no breath in them."

¹ In the eighteenth year of Nebuchadnezzar, the king made an image of gold. Its height was sixty cubits and its breadth six cubits. He set it up in Dura valley in the province of Babylon." ² Then Nebuchadnezzar, the king of the kings and rulers of the whole habitance, sends to assemble all the nations and leagues and language-groups:The satraps, the prefects, and the viceroys, the noble hieromancers, the governors, the magistrates, the jurists, and all the authorities of the provinces, to arrive for the dedication of the image that is set up by Nebuchadnezzar the king." ³ Then assembling are the satraps, the prefects, and the viceroys, the noble hieromancers, the governors, the magistrates, the jurists, and all the authorities of the provinces, for the dedication of the image that is set up by Nebuchadnezzar the king. And those registered are rising to receive the image that is set up by Nebuchadnezzar." ⁴ Then the herald is calling with potency to the throng, "To you it is commanded, O nations, peoples, leagues and language-groups!" ⁵ As soon as you shall hear the sound of the horn, the pipe, the lyre, the sambuke, the psalteries-- all sorts of music in concert--you shall fall down and worship the golden image that is set up by Nebuchadnezzar the king." ⁶ And whoever shall not fall down and worship, in the same hour shall he be heaved into the midst of the glowing, flaming furnace." ⁷ Wherefore, at the stated time, as all the people are hearing the sound of the horn, the pipe, the lyre, the sambuke, the psalteries--all sorts of music in concert--falling down are all the peoples, leagues and language-groups, and worshiping the golden image that is set up by Nebuchadnezzar the king."

¹ Belshazzar the king makes a grand dinner for a thousand of his grandees and is drinking turbid wine in view of the thousand. ² When tasting the turbid wine, Belshazzar says to bring hither the gold and silver vessels of the house of Eloah which his grandfather Nebuchadnezzar had taken from the temple in Jerusalem, that they may drink from them--the king and his grandees, his consorts and his concubines." ³ Then they bring hither the gold and silver vessels which they had taken from the temple, the house of the Eloah in Jerusalem. And they drink from them--the king and his grandees, his consorts and his concubines." ⁴ They drink the turbid wine and laud the elohim of gold, silver, copper, iron, wood, and stone." ⁵ In the same hour came forth fingers of a mortal's hand writing, in the light received from the lampstand, on the stuccoed sidewall of the king's palace. And the king is perceiving the fingertip of the hand that is writing." ⁶ Then the king's mien alters and his ruminations are flustering him; the ligaments of his loins loosen up, and his knees are knocking one against the other."

²⁴ for a certain man named Demetrius, a silversmith, making silver temples of Artemis, afforded no slight income to the artificers, ²⁵ whom convening together, as also the workers about such things, he said, "Men! You are versed in the fact that by this vocation we thrive, ²⁶ and you are beholding and hearing that, not only of Ephesus, but of almost the entire province of Asia, this Paul by his persuading causes a considerable throng to stand aloof, saying that they are not gods which are coming into being by means of hands." ²⁷ Now, not only is this endangering our party, by it coming to be confuted, but the sanctuary of the great goddess Artemis also is being thereby reckoned nothing. Besides, her magnificence is about to be pulled down also, whom the whole province of Asia and the inhabited earth is revering." ²⁸ Now, hearing this and becoming full of fury, they cried, saying, "Great is Artemis of the Ephesians!" ²⁹ And filled is the city with confusion. Besides, they rush with one accord into the theater, gripping Gaius and Aristarchus, Macedonians, fellow travelers of Paul." ³⁰ (Now, at Paul's intending to enter in to the populace, the disciples did not let him." ³¹ Yet some of the chiefs of the province of Asia also, being his friends, sending to him, entreated him not to venture into the theater himself.)" ³² Others, indeed, then, cried some other thing, for the ecclesia was in confusion, and the majority were not aware on what account they had come together." ³³ Now they unite on Alexander, one of the throng, the Jews pushing him forward. Now Alexander, gesturing with his hand, wanted to make a defense to the populace." ³⁴ Yet, on recognizing that he is a Jew, one voice came from all for about two hours, crying, "Great is Artemis of the Ephesians! Great is Artemis of the Ephesians!"

¹⁹ And I perceived the wild beast and the kings of the earth and their armies, gathered to do battle with Him Who is sitting on the horse and with His army." ²⁰ And the wild beast is arrested, and with it the false prophet who does the signs in its sight, by which he deceives those getting the emblem of the wild beast, and those worshiping its image. Living, the two were cast into the lake of fire burning with sulphur." ²¹ And the rest were killed with the blade which is coming out of the mouth of Him Who is sitting on the horse. And all the birds are satisfied with their flesh.

⁴ He took it from their hands and formed it with a stylus and made of it a molten calf. And they said: These are your elohim, Israel, who brought you up from the land of Egypt.

⁸ They have withdrawn quickly from the way I instructed them. They have made for themselves a molten calf and bowed themselves down to it. They have sacrificed to it and said: These are your elohim, Israel, who brought you up from the land of Egypt.

¹⁹ A carving? That which is made, or is cast by an artificer, and a refiner with gold is stamping it, and chains of silver he is refining, a likeness is he making it."

³ For the statutes of the peoples are vanity, For a tree from a forest has one cut, Work of the hands of an artificer, with an axe, ⁴ With silver and with gold they beautify it, With nails and with hammers they fix it, And it does not stumble." ⁵ As a palm they [are] stiff, and they speak not, They are surely borne, for they step not, Be not afraid of them, for they do no evil, Yea, also to do good is not in them." ⁶ Because there is none like You, O Yahweh, Great [are] You, and great Your name in might." ⁷ Who does not fear You, king of the nations? For to You it is becoming, For among all the wise of the nations, And in all their kingdom there is none like You." ⁸ And in one they are brutish and foolish, An instruction of vanities [is] the tree itself." ⁹ Spread-out silver from Tarshish is brought, And gold from Uphaz, Work of an artisan, and of the hands of a refiner, Blue and purple [is] their clothing, Work of the skilful--all of them." ¹⁰ And Yahweh [is] an Elohim of truth, He [is] a living Elohim, and a king eonian, From His wrath shake does the earth, And nations endure not His indignation." ¹¹ Thus do you say to them, The elohims Who the heavens and earth have not made, They do perish from the earth, And from under these heavens."

¹³ Behold, is it not from Yahweh of hosts that the peoples have labored sufficient for the fire, and the folkstems have fainted sufficient for naught?

¹⁹ And Laban goes to shear his flock. And stealing is Rachel the household elohim which are her father's.

³⁰ And now, go, yea, go, for you long longingly for the household of your father. Why have you stolen my elohim?

³² With whom you are finding your elohim, not live shall he. In front of our brethren, identify what is yours, withal, and take it to you.Yet not know did Jacob that Rachel, his wife, had stolen them.

² And saying is Jacob to his household and to all who are with him, "Take away the foreign elohim which are in your midst, and clean yourselves, and change your garments.

⁴ You shall not make for yourself a carving nor any representation of that in the heavens above or that on the earth beneath, or that in the waters beneath the earth. ⁵ You shall not bow yourself down to them, nor be made to serve them, for I, Yahweh your Elohim, am a jealous El, visiting the depravity of the fathers on the sons, on the third and on the fourth generation, to those hating Me,

¹⁶ lest you should bring ruin on yourselves and make for yourselves a carving, a physical representation of any figure, a model of male or female, ¹⁷ a model of any beast which is on the earth, a model of any winged bird which flies in the heavens, ¹⁸ a model of any animal moving on the ground, a model of any fish which is in the waters below the earth.

²⁸ And there you will serve other elohim, the work of human hands, of wood and stone which are neither seeing nor hearing, neither eating nor smelling.

⁴ And he gives back the money to his mother, and his mother takes two hundred silverlings, and gives them to a refiner, and he makes them a graven image, and a molten image, and it is in the house of Micah. ⁵ As to the man Micah, he has a house of elohims, and he makes an ephod, and teraphim, and consecrates the hand of one of his sons, and he is to him for a priest;"

²⁴ And he said, `My elohims which I made you have taken, and the priest, and you go; and what to me more? and what [is] this you say unto me, What--to you!.

⁵ They have a mouth, but they cannot speak; They have eyes, but they cannot see;" ⁶ They have ears, but they cannot hear; They have a nose, but they cannot smell;" ⁷ Their hands, they cannot feel with them; Their feet, they cannot walk with them; They cannot even mumble in their throat."

²⁹ The race, then, is inherently of God; we ought not to be inferring that the Divine is like gold, or silver, or stone, a sculpture of art and human sentiment."

²³ and they change the glory of the incorruptible God into the likeness of an image of a corruptible human being and flying creatures and quadrupeds and reptiles.

²⁰ A provident one will choose a heave approach of wood that will not rot. He will seek for himself a wise artificer, to prepare a carving with no blemish."

¹² My people at their wood are asking, and their stick is telling them, for the spirit of prostitution leads them astray, and they are committing prostitution away from under their Elohim."

¹⁹ Woe to him saying to the wood, Awake! Rouse! To the still stone, Be exalted! It is an apparition; behold it overspread with gold and silver, yet there is no spirit at all within it."

¹⁹ And it has come to pass, at the death of the judge--they turn back and have done corruptly above their fathers, to go after other elohims, to serve them, and to bow themselves to them; they have not fallen from their doings, and from their stiff way.

¹⁴ And it comes to pass, after the coming in of Amaziah from smiting the Edomites, that he brings in the elohims of the sons of Seir, and establishes them to him for elohims, and before them does bow himself, and to them he makes perfume.

¹⁰ Who form an el, and cast a carving which fails to benefit."

²⁰ And the rest of mankind, who were not killed in these calamities, repent not of the acts of their hands- that they will not be worshiping the demons and idols of gold and silver and copper and stone and wood, which are neither able to be observing nor to be hearing nor to be walking-."

²⁶ And they take the bullock that [one] gave to them, and prepare, and call in the name of Baal from the morning even till the noon, saying, `O Baal, answer us!' and there is no voice, and there is none answering; and they leap on the altar that one had made.

¹⁹ Where are the elohim of Hamath and Arphad? Where are the elohim of Sepharvaim, Hena and Ivah? And where are the elohim of the land of Samaria? And when have they rescued Samaria from my hand? ²⁰ Which, among all the elohim of these lands, have rescued their land from my hand, assuring you that Yahweh will rescue Jerusalem from my hand?'"

³⁸ And he is coming to worship in the house of Nisroch, his elohim, and Adrammelech and Sharezer, his sons, smite him with the sword. Yet they escape into the land of Ararat, and reigning is Esarhaddon, his son, in his stead."

¹⁷ Should it actually happen, our Eloah in the heavens, Whom we are serving, can deliver us from the glowing, flaming furnace; and from your hand, O king, will He deliver us."

²⁹ Now from me shall be promulgated a decree that, in every people, league, and language-group, whoever is saying aught carelessly against their Eloah--that of Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego--shall be dismembered and his house shall be the equivalent of a confiscation, forasmuch as there is actually not another Eloah Who can rescue as this One."

¹⁶ Then the king says the word, and they bring hither Daniel and heave him into the vault of the lions. Calling is the king to Daniel and saying, "Your Eloah, Whom you are serving in abidance, He will deliver you!"

²⁰ In a fluster he departs to the vault of the lions, and, as he is near the vault, he cries out to Daniel in a staunch voice. Calling is the king to Daniel and saying, "Daniel, servant of the living Eloah, your Eloah Whom you are serving in abidance, He could deliver you from the mouths of the lions? ²¹ Then Daniel declares to the king, "O king, live for the eons!" ²² My Eloah sent His messenger, and he closed the mouths of the lions that they could not harm me; forasmuch as before Him it is found that I am purged; and indeed, also before you, O king, no harm have I done."

²⁷ He is delivering and rescuing. He is doing signs and amazing things in the heavens and on the earth--He Who delivers Daniel from the paws of the lions."

¹² So I let them go in the obduracy of their own heart; They went in their own counsels.

⁶ An irrational man, he does not know, And a stupid one, he cannot understand this:"

⁵ Then you shall understand the fear of Yahweh, And you shall find the knowledge of God." ⁶ For Yahweh Himself gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and comprehension; ⁷ He stores up sagacity for the upright, A shield for those walking with integrity, ⁸ So as to preserve the paths of judgment, And so He may guard the way of His benign ones." ⁹ Then you shall understand righteousness and right judgment, And you shall be upright in every good route;"

⁵ Evil men do not understand right judgment, Yet those who seek Yahweh understand it all."

³ The bull knows his owner, and the ass the crib of his possessors, yet Israel does not know Me, and My people do not consider Me."

⁹ And He is saying to me, "Go, and say to this people:`Hear you to hear, yet you must not be understanding." ¹⁰ And see you to see, yet you must not be knowing. Stouten the heart of this people, and their ears make heavy, and their eyes make squint. Lest they are seeing with their eyes, and with their ears are hearing, and with their heart are understanding, and, turning back, then healing is theirs."

¹⁰ For Yahweh has libated on you a spirit of stupor. And He is restraining your eyes, that is, the prophets, and your heads, the vision seers, He covers."

⁹ Formers of carvings, all of them are a chaos. And makers of their coveted idols shall fail to benefit. And their witnesses they will fail to see and fail to know, that they may be ashamed,

⁷ And they will bear it on a shoulder, they shall be burdened with it. And they will leave it on its bottom, then it is standing. From its place it is not being removed. Indeed, he is crying to it, yet it is not answering. From his distress it will not save him." ⁸ Remember this and be on fire. Recall it to heart, transgressors."

¹¹ and curs strongly soulish. No satisfaction do they know. And they are evil. They do not know to understand. All of them face to their own way, each man for his own gain, for his own end."

²¹ Hear you, I pray you, this, O people, foolish and without heart, Eyes they have, and they see not, Ears they have, and they hear not."

⁸ And in one they are brutish and foolish, An instruction of vanities [is] the tree itself."

¹⁰ Many will purify and whiten themselves and be refined; yet the wicked will be wicked. None of all the wicked shall understand; yet the intelligent are understanding.

⁹ He who is wise will also understand these things. These being understood, he will also acknowledge them. For the ways of Yahweh are upright, and the righteous will walk in them. Yet the transgressors shall be stumbled in them."

³⁴ Progeny of vipers! How can you be speaking what is good, being wicked? For out of the superabundance of the heart the mouth is speaking."

¹⁴ And filled up in them is the prophecy of Isaiah, that is saying, '"In hearing, you will be hearing, and may by no means be understanding, And observing, you will be observing, and may by no means be perceiving." ¹⁵ For stoutened is the heart of this people, And with their ears heavily they hear, And with their eyes they squint, Lest at some time they may be perceiving with their eyes, And with their ears should be hearing, And with their heart may be understanding, And should be turning about, And I shall be healing them.'"

⁴⁴ How can you believe, getting glory from one another, and are not seeking the glory which is from God alone?

⁴³ Wherefore do you not know My speech? Seeing that you can not hear My word.

³⁹ Therefore they could not believe, seeing that Isaiah said again" ⁴⁰ that He has blinded their eyes and callouses their heart, lest they may be perceiving with their eyes, and should be apprehending with their heart, and may be turning about, and I shall be healing them."

¹⁶ Who, in bygone generations, leaves all the nations to go their ways,

²¹ because, knowing God, not as God do they glorify or thank Him, but vain were they made in their reasonings, and darkened is their unintelligent heart." ²² Alleging themselves to be wise, they are made stupid, ²³ and they change the glory of the incorruptible God into the likeness of an image of a corruptible human being and flying creatures and quadrupeds and reptiles.

²⁸ And according as they do not test God, to have Him in recognition, God gives them over to a disqualified mind, to do that which is not befitting,

⁸ even as it is written, God gives them a spirit of stupor, eyes not to be observing, and ears not to be hearing, till this very day." ⁹ And David is saying, Let their table become a trap and a mesh, And a snare and a repayment to them:" ¹⁰ Darkened be their eyes, not to be observing, And their backs bow together continually."

³ Now, if our evangel is covered, also, it is covered in those who are perishing, ⁴ in whom the god of this eon blinds the apprehensions of the unbelieving so that the illumination of the evangel of the glory of Christ, Who is the Image of the invisible God, does not irradiate them."

⁹ whose presence is in accord with the operation of Satan, with all power and signs and false miracles" ¹⁰ and with every seduction of injustice among those who are perishing, because they do not receive the love of the truth for their salvation." ¹¹ And therefore God will be sending them an operation of deception, for them to believe the falsehood, ¹² that all may be judged who do not believe the truth, but delight in injustice."

¹⁴ having the distended eyes of an adulteress, and that do not stop from sin, luring unstable souls, having a heart exercised by greed, children of a curse."

²³ Pharaoh turned around, entered into his house and did not set his heart even to this.

⁴⁶ he said to them:Set your heart on all the words which I am testifying among you today, so that you may enjoin them on your sons to observe to obey all the words of this law.

⁵ And Solomon goes after Ashtoreth elohim [goddess] of the Zidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites;"

⁷ Then does Solomon build a high place for Chemosh the abomination of Moab, in the hill that [is] on the front of Jerusalem, and for Molech the abomination of the sons of Ammon;"

¹³ And the high places that [are] on the front of Jerusalem, that [are] on the right of the mount of corruption, that Solomon king of Israel had built to Ashtoreth abomination of the Zidonians, and Chemosh abomination of Moab, and to Milcom abomination of the sons of Ammon, has the king defiled.

¹³ Wherefore, My people are deported for failing to know Yahweh. And a lot become death-doomed from famine, and the throng is glazed with thirst."

⁸ Remember this and be on fire. Recall it to heart, transgressors."

⁴ and the man speaks unto me:`Son of man, see with your eyes, And with your ears hear, And set your heart to all that I am showing you, For, in order to show [it] you, You have been brought in hither, Declare all that you are seeing to the house of Israel.'"

² They avoid saying to their heart that I remember all their evil. Now their own actions surround them; in front of My face they come.

⁵ And now, thus says Yahweh of hosts:Set your heart on your ways."

²⁰ and Yahweh said, Who does entice Ahab, and he does go up and fall in Ramoth-Gilead? and this one said thus, and that one is saying thus. ²¹ `And the spirit goes out, and stands before Yahweh, and said, I--I do entice him; and Yahweh said unto him, By what? ²² and he said, I go out, and have been a spirit of falsehood in the mouth of all his prophets; and He said, You do entice, and also you are able; go out and do so. ²³ And now, lo, Yahweh has put a spirit of falsehood in the mouth of all these your prophets, and Yahweh has spoken concerning you--evil..

² Should a wise man answer with knowledge of wind? Or should he fill his belly with the hot east wind?

³¹ No one may rely upon such futility; He shall be led astray, For futility shall become his remuneration.

⁹ For I eat ashes like bread, And I blend my drink with lamentation,

¹⁴ The heart of the understanding person seeks knowledge, Yet the mouth of the stupid grazes on folly."

¹⁵ For you say, "We have contracted a covenant with death, and with the unseen we made a public treaty. The scourge overflowing that shall pass will not come on us, for we constitute a lie our refuge, and in falsehood are we concealed." ¹⁶ Wherefore, thus says my Lord Yahweh, "Behold Me laying in Zion a foundation stone, a choice stone, a corner of a precious well-founded foundation. The believer on it shall not be put to shame." ¹⁷ And I constitute judgment for the tape, and righteousness for the plummet, and the hail will shovel away the refuge of the lie, and the concealment the waters will overflow."

³ For your palms are sullied with blood, and your fingers with depravity. Your lips speak falsehood, your tongue iniquity is soliloquizing." ⁴ No one is calling in righteousness, and no one is being judged in faithfulness. They trust in chaos, and speak futility. They are pregnant with toil, and generate lawlessness."

¹³ Transgression and dissimulation against Yahweh, and turning away from following our Elohim, speaking perversity and stubbornness, pregnant with and soliloquizing from the heart, words of falsehood."

¹⁹ O Yahweh, my strength, and my fortress, And my refuge in a day of adversity, Unto You nations do come from the ends of earth, And say, Only falsehood did our fathers inherit, Vanity, and none among them is profitable."

¹ Ephraim is grazing on wind and is pursuing the east wind. The entire day he is increasing lying and futility, and they are contracting a covenant with Assyria, and oil is being fetched to Egypt."

¹⁶ And he yearned to be satisfied with the little carob pods which the hogs ate, and no one gave to him."

²⁰ For His invisible attributes are descried from the creation of the world, being apprehended by His achievements, besides His imperceptible power and divinity, for them to be defenseless, ²¹ because, knowing God, not as God do they glorify or thank Him, but vain were they made in their reasonings, and darkened is their unintelligent heart." ²² Alleging themselves to be wise, they are made stupid,

²⁵ those who alter the truth of God into the lie, and are venerated, and offer divine service to the creature rather than the Creator, Who is blessed for the eons! Amen!"

⁹ whose presence is in accord with the operation of Satan, with all power and signs and false miracles" ¹⁰ and with every seduction of injustice among those who are perishing, because they do not receive the love of the truth for their salvation." ¹¹ And therefore God will be sending them an operation of deception, for them to believe the falsehood,

² in the hypocrisy of false expressions, their own conscience having been cauterized;"

¹³ if we are disbelieving, He is remaining faithful - He cannot disown Himself."

¹³ Yet wicked men and swindlers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived."

⁹ And the great dragon was cast out, the ancient serpent called Adversary and Satan, who is deceiving the whole inhabited earth. It was cast into the earth, and its messengers were cast with it."

¹⁴ And it is deceiving those dwelling on the earth because of the signs which were given it to do in the sight of the wild beast, saying to those dwelling on the earth to make an image to the wild beast which has the blow of the sword and lives."

²³ and the light of a lamp may be appearing in you nevermore; and the voice of the bridegroom and bride should be heard in you nevermore; for your merchants were the magnates of the earth, for by your enchantment all nations were deceived."

³ And he casts him into the submerged chaos and locks it, and seals it over him (lest he should still be deceiving the nations) until the thousand years should be finished. After these things he must be loosed a little time."

⁹ But guard yourself and keep your soul especially vigilant, lest you should forget the things which your eyes have seen, and lest they should withdraw from your heart, all the days of your lives. You make them known to your sons and to your sons' sons, lest you forge.

²³ Guard yourselves lest you forget the covenant of Yahweh your Elohim that He contracted with you, and so you make for yourselves a carving, a physical representation of anything, against which Yahweh your Elohim had instructed you;"

¹⁹ And now, write down for yourselves this song and teach it to the sons of Israel. Put it in their mouths so that this song may come to be for Me as a testimony against the sons of Israel. ²⁰ When I shall bring them to the ground gushing with milk and honey about which I had sworn to their fathers, when they eat and are satisfied and are sleek so that they turn around to other elohim and serve them, when they thus spurn Me and annul My covenant, ²¹ and it comes to be that many evils and distresses find them, then this song will answer as a testimony before them (for it shall not be forgotten from the mouths of their seed) that I know the bent of their heart which they are forming today ere I bring them to the land about which I had sworn.

¹⁸ The Rock Who generated you, you were oblivious of Him, and you forgot the El travailing with you.

⁸ Now you, Israel, My servant; Jacob, whom I have chosen; the seed of Abraham, My love, whom I encourage;" ⁹ from the ends of the land, and from beside it I called you. And I am saying to you, `My servant are you. I choose you, and I do not reject you."

¹⁵ I am Yahweh Elohim, your Holy One, Creator of Israel, your King."

¹ And now hear, Jacob, My servant, and Israel, whom I chose in him." ² Thus says Yahweh Elohim, your Maker, and your Former from the belly, and your Helper:"You must not fear, My servant Jacob, and you Upright one whom I choose in him."

⁸ Remember this and be on fire. Recall it to heart, transgressors." ⁹ Remember the first things from the eon, for I am the El, and there is no further Elohim, and the limit is as Me."

¹⁵ Will a woman forget her child, not to have compassion on the son of her belly? Even if these a woman will forget, yet I will not forget you,says Yahweh." ¹⁶ Behold! On My palms I tattoo you, and your walls are in front of Me continually."

⁹ And I will sow them among the peoples, yet in the far places shall they remember Me. And they shall live with their sons and return."

²⁸ As to the evangel, indeed, they are enemies because of you, yet, as to choice, they are beloved because of the fathers." ²⁹ For unregretted are the graces and the calling of God.

⁵ and do not cover over their iniquity, and their sin from before You let not be blotted out, for they have provoked to anger--over-against those building.

¹¹ Indeed, He encumbers the thick cloud with soaking moisture; He scatters His lightning cloud,

¹ {A Davidic Psalm{ {When Nathan the prophet came to him after he had come to Bath-sheba.{ Be gracious to me, O Elohim, according to Your benignity; According to Your many compassions wipe out my transgressions."

⁹ Conceal Your face from my sins, And all my depravities wipe out."

¹² As far as the east is from the west, So He removes our transgressions far from us."

¹⁴ May the depravity of his fathers be remembered before Yahweh, And the sin of his mother, let it not be wiped out."

¹⁸ Go, pray and it shall be corrected,saying is Yahweh. "If your sins are coming to be as double dipped scarlet, as snow shall they be white. If they are reddened as crimson, as wool shall they become."

²⁷ Zion with judgment shall be ransomed, and her restored, with righteousness."

²⁵ I, I am He Who wipes out your transgressions on My own account, and your sins I will not remember further."

²⁰ Fare forth from Babylon! Away from the Chaldeans! With a voice of jubilation tell it, and announce this; bring it forth unto the ends of the earth:Say, `Yahweh has redeemed His servant Jacob.'"

¹¹ And the ransomed of Yahweh shall return, and they come to Zion with jubilation, and rejoicing eonian is on their head. Elation and rejoicing shall overtake them, and affliction shall flee, and grief and sighing."

⁷ Forsake shall the wicked one his way, and the lawless man his devices, and he shall return to Yahweh, and He will have compassion on him, and to our Elohim, for he will increasingly pardon your sins."

²⁰ And there comes to Zion the Redeemer, and "He shall turn back transgression from Jacob,averring is Yahweh." ²¹ And I--this is My covenant with them,says Yahweh. "My spirit, which is on you, and My word, which I place in your mouth, shall not remove from your mouth, or from the mouth of your seed, or from the mouth of your seed's seed,says Yahweh, "Henceforth and till the eon."

¹ Saying, `Lo, one sends away his wife, And she has gone from him, And she has been to another man, Does he turn back unto her again? Greatly defiled is not that land? And you have committed whoredom with many lovers, And turn again to Me, an affirmation of Yahweh."

¹² Go, and you have proclaimed these words toward the north, and have said, Turn back, O backsliding Israel, An affirmation of Yahweh! I cause not Mine anger to fall upon you, For I [am] kind, an affirmation of Yahweh, I watch not to the eon." ¹³ Only, know your iniquity, For against Yahweh your Elohim you have transgressed, And you do scatter your ways to strangers, Under every green tree, And to My voice you have not hearkened, An affirmation of Yahweh." ¹⁴ Turn back, O backsliding sons, An affirmation of Yahweh. For I have ruled over you, And taken you one of a city, and two of a family, And have brought you to Zion,

²³ And You, O Yahweh, You have known, All their counsel against me [is] for death, You do not cover over their iniquity, Nor their sin from before You blot out, And they are made to stumble before You, In the time of Your anger work against them!"

⁸ And cleansed them from all their iniquity, That they have sinned against Me, And I have pardoned all their iniquities, That they have sinned against Me, And that they transgressed against Me."

⁴² We have transgressed and rebelled; You have not pardoned; ⁴³ You have blanketed us with anger and pursued us; You have killed and have not spared; ⁴⁴ You have blanketed Yourself with a cloud to keep prayer from passing through.

¹ Return, O Israel, unto Yahweh, your Elohim, for you stumble in your depravity." ² Take words with you and return to Yahweh, your Elohim; say to Him:Wilt You bear away all the depravity? Take the good, and we will repay with the fruit of our lips." ³ Assyria will not save us; we will not ride on the horse. Nor shall we still say, Our elohim, to the work of our hands. For in You, the orphan is being shown compassion." ⁴ I will heal their backsliding; I will love them willingly, for My anger is reversed from him."

⁷³ The oath which He swears to Abraham our father, ⁷⁴ To grant to us, being rescued out of the hand of our enemies, To be fearlessly offering divine service to Him"

¹⁸ Yet what God announces before through the mouth of all the prophets - the suffering of His Christ - He thus fulfills. ¹⁹ Repent, then, and turn about for the erasure of your sins, so that seasons of refreshing should be coming from the face of the Lord,

²⁰ For you are bought with a price. By all means glorify God in your body.

¹² training us that, disowning irreverence and worldly desires, we should be living sanely and justly and devoutly in the current eon, ¹³ anticipating that happy expectation, even the advent of the glory of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ, ¹⁴ Who gives Himself for us, that He should be redeeming us from all lawlessness and be cleansing for Himself a people to be about Him, zealous for ideal acts."

¹⁸ being aware that not with corruptible things, with silver or gold, were you ransomed from your vain behavior, handed down by tradition from the fathers, ¹⁹ but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a flawless and unspotted lamb,

³⁴ Let the heavens and the earth praise Him, The seas and all moving about in them."

¹¹ Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth exult, Let the sea thunder and its fullness, ¹² Let the field be joyous, and all that is in it; Then all the trees of the wildwood shall be jubilant"

⁷ Let the sea thunder, and its fullness, The habitance and those dwelling in it." ⁸ The streams, let them clap with the palm,

⁷ Praise Yahweh from the earth, Sea monsters and every abyss,

¹⁵ You wilt add to the nation, Yahweh; You wilt add to the nation. Glorified are You. Far do You extend all the ends of the land."

¹⁰ Sing to Yahweh a new song, and his praise from the ends of the earth, those going down to the sea, and its fullness, the coastlands, and their dwellers." ¹¹ Elated is the wilderness and its cities, the environs with dwellers so somber. And jubilate shall the dwellers of the crag; from the summit of the mountains shall they yell." ¹² They shall give glory to Yahweh, and His praise in the coastlands shall they tell."

³ And He is saying to me, "My servant are you, Israel, in whom I am beautifying Myself."

¹³ Jubilate, O heavens! And exult, O earth! Crash, O mountains, into jubilation! And the hills into righteousness! For Yahweh is comforting His people, and on His humble is He having compassion."

¹² For with rejoicing shall you go forth, and with welfare shall you be fetched. The mountains and the hills shall crash into jubilation before you, and all the trees of the field shall clap their palms." ¹³ And instead of the thorn tree, up shall come the fir, and instead of the nettle, up shall come the myrtle. And it comes to be to Yahweh for a name, and for a sign eonian that shall not be cut off."

²¹ And your people, all of them are righteous; for the eon shall they tenant the land, the scion of Yahweh's planting, the making of His hand, to beautify itself."

³ to give rejoicing to the mourners of Zion, to give to them beauty instead of ashes, the oil of elation instead of mourning, the muffler of praise instead of dimness of spirit. And they are called arbiters of righteousness, the planting of Yahweh, to beautify Himself."

⁴⁸ And cried aloud against Babylon Have heavens and earth, and all that [is] in them, For, from the north come to it do the spoilers, An affirmation of Yahweh."

¹ And you, son of man, prophesy unto mountains of Israel, and you have said, O mountains of Israel, hear a word of Yahweh."

⁸ And you, O mountains of Israel, Your branch you give out, and your fruits you bear for My people Israel, For they have drawn near to come."

¹³ Yea, all the people of the land have buried them, and it has been to them for a name--the day of My being honored--an affirmation of the Lord Yahweh."

¹⁰ And the messenger said to them, "Fear not, for lo! I am bringing you an evangel of great joy which will be for the entire people, ¹¹ for today was brought forth to you a Saviour, Who is Christ, the Lord, ¹² in the city of David. And this is the sign to you: you will be finding a Babe, swaddled and lying in a manger." ¹³ And suddenly with the messenger there came to be a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God and saying, ¹⁴ Glory to God among the Highest! And on earth peace, Among men, delight!"

⁶ for the laud of the glory of His grace, which graces us in the Beloved:" ⁷ in Whom we are having the deliverance through His blood, the forgiveness of offenses in accord with the riches of His grace,

²¹ to Him be the glory in the ecclesia and in Christ Jesus for all the generations of the eon of the eons! Amen!

¹⁰ whenever He may be coming to be glorified in His saints and to be marveled at in all who believe (seeing that our testimony to you was believed) in that day. ¹¹ For which we are always praying also concerning you, that our God should be counting you worthy of the calling, and should be fulfilling every delight of goodness and work of faith in power, ¹² so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in Him, in accord with the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ."

¹¹ if anyone is speaking, as the oracles of God; if anyone is dispensing, as out of the strength which God is furnishing; that in all God may be glorified, through Jesus Christ, to Whom is the glory and the might for the eons of the eons. Amen!"

⁸ And when It took the scroll, the four animals and the twenty-four elders fall before the Lambkin, each having a lyre, and golden bowls brimming with incenses, which are the prayers of the saints." ⁹ And they are singing a new song, saying, "Worthy art Thou to be taking the scroll and to open its seals, For Thou wast slain and dost buy us for God by Thy blood. Out of every tribe and language and people and nation." ¹⁰ Thou dost also make them a kingdom and a priesthood for our God, And they shall be reigning on the earth." ¹¹ And I perceived, and I hear a sound as of many messengers around the throne and the animals and the elders, and their number was ten thousand ten thousand and a thousand thousand, ¹² saying with a loud voice, "Worthy is the Lambkin slain To get power and riches and wisdom and strength And honor and glory and blessing!" ¹³ And every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and underneath the earth and on the sea, and all in them, I hear also saying, "To Him Who is sitting on the throne-To the Lambkin-Be blessing and honor and glory and might For the eons of the eons!" ¹⁴ And the four animals said, "Amen!And the elders fall and worship."

¹² Therefore, make merry, ye heavens, and those tabernacling in them! Woe to the land and the sea, for the Adversary descended to you having great fury, being aware that brief is the season that he has."

²⁰ Make merry over her, O heaven, and ye saints and apostles and prophets, seeing that God judges by passing your sentence upon her."

¹ After these things I hear as it were the loud voice of a vast throng in heaven, saying, "Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power is of our God, ² for true and just is His judging, for He judges the great prostitute who corrupts the earth with her prostitution, and avenges the blood of His slaves at her hand." ³ And a second time have they declared, "Hallelujah!And her smoke is ascending for the eons of the eons." ⁴ And the twenty-four elders and the four animals fall and worship God, Who is sitting on the throne, saying, "Amen! Hallelujah!" ⁵ And a voice came out from the throne, saying, "Praise our God, all His slaves, and those who are fearing Him, the small and the great." ⁶ And I hear as it were the voice of a vast throng, and as it were the sound of many waters, and as it were the sound of strong thunders, saying, "Hallelujah! for the Lord our God, the Almighty reigns!"

⁸ Who alone is stretching out the heavens, And Who is treading on the high swells of the sea,

⁷ He stretched out the north over the waste, Hanging the earth over the decay.

¹⁵ Did not He Who made me in the belly make him also, So that the same One prepared us both in the womb?

³⁵ Then they remembered that Elohim is their Rock, And El, the Supreme, is their Redeemer."

² You are muffled with light as a garment. Stretching out the heavens like a sheet,

¹³ For You Yourself achieved the making of my innermost being; You overshadowed me in my mother's belly. ¹⁴ I shall acclaim You, for You are fearfully distinguished; Marvelous are Your works. You have known my soul very thoroughly;" ¹⁵ My skeleton was not suppressed from You, When I was made in concealment; I was woven together as in the nether parts of the earth." ¹⁶ Your eyes saw my embryo, And my days, all of them were written upon Your scroll; The days were formed When there was not one of them."

²² Who is sitting over the circle of the earth, and its dwellers are as grasshoppers? Who is stretching out as a thin gauze the heavens, and bagging them out as a tent to dwell in?

⁵ Thus says the El, Yahweh Elohim, Creator of the heavens, Who stretched them out, Who stamped the earth and its offspring, Who gives breath to the people upon it, and spirit to those going in it:"

¹⁴ Thus says Yahweh, your Redeemer, The Holy One of Israel:"On your account I send to Babylon and I bring down the fugitives, all of them, and the Chaldeans, in ships of their jubilation."

¹² I, I made the earth, and I created humanity on it. I, My hands stretched out the heavens, and all their host I instruct."

¹⁸ For thus says Yahweh, Creator of the heavens; He is the Elohim, and Former of the earth, and its Maker, and He, He established it. He did not create it a chaos. He formed it to be indwelt. "I am Yahweh, and there is none else."

¹³ Indeed, My hand founded the earth, and My right handbreadth measured the heavens. I am calling to them, and they are standing together."

⁷ Thus says my Lord Yahweh, your Redeemer, the Elohim of Israel, his Holy One, to the despised of His soul, to the abhorred of the nation, to the servant of rulers, "Kings shall see him, and they rise, and chiefs shall also worship him, on account of Yahweh, Who is faithful, the Holy One of Israel, and He shall choose you."

²⁶ And I feed those tyrannizing over you with their own flesh, and as with juice, with their own blood shall they be drunk. Then all flesh shall know that I, Yahweh, am your Saviour, and your Redeemer is the Sturdy One of Jacob."

¹³ And you are forgetting Yahweh, your Maker, the One Who stretches out the heavens, and Founder of the earth. And you are afraid continually, the entire day, in view of the fury of the constrainer? As he prepares to ruin. Yet where is the fury of the constrainer?

⁸ In effervescent wrath I concealed My face a moment from you, yet with kindness eonian have I compassion on you,says your Redeemer, Yahweh."

¹⁶ And you suck the milk of nations, and the breast of kings shall you suck. Then you will know that I, Yahweh, am your Saviour, and your Redeemer is the Sturdy One of Jacob."

¹⁶ For You are our Father, for Abraham does not know us, and Israel is not recognizing us. You are He, Yahweh, our Father, our Redeemer; from the eon is Your name."

¹⁵ The maker of earth by His power, The establisher of the world by His wisdom, Who by His understanding stretched out the heavens,

³ All came into being through it, and apart from it not even one thing came into being which has come into being."

¹⁵ Now, when it delights God, Who severs me from my mother's womb and calls me through His grace,

⁹ and to enlighten all as to what is the administration of the secret, which has been concealed from the eons in God, Who creates all,

¹⁶ for in Him is all created, that in the heavens and that on the earth, the visible and the invisible, whether thrones, or lordships, or sovereignties, or authorities, all is created through Him and for Him, ¹⁷ and He is before all, and all has its cohesion in Him."

² in the last of these days speaks to us in a Son, Whom He appoints enjoyer of the allotment of all, through Whom He also makes the eons;"

¹⁰ And, Thou, originally, Lord, dost found the earth, And the heavens are the works of Thy hands." ¹¹ They shall perish, yet Thou art continuing, And all, as a cloak, shall be aged, ¹² And, as if clothing, wilt Thou be rolling them up. As a cloak also shall they change. Yet Thou art the same, And Thy years shall not be defaulting."

⁹ And they are singing a new song, saying, "Worthy art Thou to be taking the scroll and to open its seals, For Thou wast slain and dost buy us for God by Thy blood. Out of every tribe and language and people and nation."

¹¹ Now the sacred scribes were unable to stand before Moses in view of the boils, for the boil came to be on the sacred scribes and on all Egypt.

³¹ and David declared, saying, `Ahithophel [is] among the conspirators with Absalom;' and David said, `Make foolish, I pray You, the counsel of Ahithophel, O Yahweh..

²³ And the counsel of Ahithophel which he counselled in those days [is] as [when] one inquires at the word of Elohim; so [is] all the counsel of Ahithophel both to David and to Absalom.

²³ And Ahithophel has seen that his counsel was not done, and he saddles the ass, and rises and goes unto his house, unto his city, and gives charge unto his household, and strangles himself, and dies, and he is buried in the burying-place of his father.

¹¹ And Zedekiah son of Chenaanah makes for himself horns of iron, and said, `Thus said Yahweh, By these you do push the Arameans till they are consumed;. <sup>12</sup> and all the prophets are prophesying so, saying, `Go up to Ramoth-Gilead, and prosper, and Yahweh has given [it] into the hand of the king..

²² and he said, I go out, and have been a spirit of falsehood in the mouth of all his prophets; and He said, You do entice, and also you are able; go out and do so. ²³ And now, lo, Yahweh has put a spirit of falsehood in the mouth of all these your prophets, and Yahweh has spoken concerning you--evil.. ²⁴ And Zedekiah son of Chenaanah draws nigh, and smites Micaiah on the cheek, and said, `Where [is] this--he has passed over--the Spirit of Yahweh--from me to speak with you?. <sup>25</sup> And Micaiah said, `Lo, you are seeing on that day, when you go in to the innermost chamber to be hidden..

³⁷ And the king dies, and comes into Samaria, and they bury the king in Samaria;"

¹¹ With these you do push Aram till you have consumed them.' And all the prophets are prophesying so, saying, `Go up [to] Ramath-Gilead and prosper, and Yahweh has given [it] into the hand of the king..

³⁴ And the battle increases on that day, and the king of Israel has been stayed up in the chariot over-against Aram till the evening, and he dies at the time of the going in of the sun.

¹² He is annulling the devisings of the crafty, So that their hands may not achieve prosperity, ¹³ Seizing the wise in their craftiness, So that their cunning counsel is carried headlong. ¹⁴ By day they encounter darkness, And as in the night, they grope at noon.

¹⁰ Yahweh, He annuls the intrigue of the nations; He repudiates the devices of the peoples."

¹¹ Yea! Foolish are the chiefs of Zoan, the wise counselors of Pharaoh give brutish counsel. How will you say to Pharaoh, "I am a son of the wise, a son of former kings"? ¹² Whereat, indeed, are your wise? And, pray, will they tell to you, and will they know what Yahweh of hosts counsels over Egypt? ¹³ Foolish are the chiefs of Zoan! Lured away are the chiefs of Noph! They lead Egypt astray, the corner stone of its tribes." ¹⁴ Yahweh blends within it a depraved spirit. They lead Egypt astray in its every deed, as a drunkard strays in his vomit."

¹⁴ Wherefore, behold Me! I will proceed to distribute this people, and I am distributing them. And perish shall the wisdom of their wise, and the understanding of their understanding ones shall conceal itself."

¹² Then stand, pray, by your magic charms, and by your many enchantments, with which you were acquainted from your youth until today. Perhaps you can benefit! Perhaps you will be staunch!" ¹³ You are tired with your many counsels. Standing, pray, are they, and saving you are the astrologers, the seers of visions in the stars, the informers for new moons, from the things which are coming on you? ¹⁴ Behold! They all become as straw. Fire shall burn them up. They shall not rescue their soul from the hand of the blaze. It is no ember to warm them, or light to sit in front of."

⁹ `And you, you do not hearken unto your prophets, and unto your diviners, and unto your dreamers, and unto your observers of clouds, and unto your sorcerers who are speaking unto you, saying, You do not serve the king of Babylon, --" ¹⁰ For falsehood they are prophesying to you, so as to remove you far from off your ground, and I have driven you out, and you have perished."

⁹ The prophet who does prophesy of peace--by the coming in of the word of the prophet, known is the prophet that Yahweh has truly sent him.'" ¹⁰ And Hananiah the prophet takes the yoke from off the neck of Jeremiah the prophet, and breaks it, ¹¹ And Hananiah speaks before the eyes of all the people, saying, `Thus said Yahweh, Thus I break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, within two years of days, from off the neck of all the nations;' and Jeremiah the prophet goes on his way." <sup>12</sup> And there is a word of Yahweh unto Jeremiah after the breaking, by Hananiah the prophet, of the yoke from off the neck of Jeremiah the prophet, saying, <sup>13</sup> `Go, and you have spoken unto Hananiah, saying, Thus said Yahweh, Yokes of wood you have broken, and I have made instead of them yokes of iron;" ¹⁴ For thus said Yahweh of Hosts, Elohim of Israel, A yoke of iron I have put on the neck of all these nations to serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and they have served him, and also the beast of the field I have given to him.'" ¹⁵ And Jeremiah the prophet said unto Hananiah the prophet, `Hear, I pray you, O Hananiah; Yahweh has not sent you, and you have caused this people to trust on falsehood." ¹⁶ Therefore thus said Yahweh, Lo, I am casting you from off the face of the ground; this year you die, for apostasy you have spoken concerning Yahweh.'" ¹⁷ And Hananiah the prophet dies in that year, in the seventh month."

⁷ Concerning Edom:`Thus said Yahweh of Hosts:Is wisdom no more in Teman? Perished has counsel from the intelligent? Vanished has their wisdom?

³⁶ A sword [is] on the princes, And they have become foolish; A sword [is] on her mighty ones, And they have been broken down;"

⁵⁷ And I have caused its princes to drink, And its wise men, its governors, And its prefects, and its mighty ones, And they have slept a sleep eonian, And they awake not--an affirmation of the king, Yahweh of Hosts [is] His name."

²⁰ in every matter of wisdom and of understanding which the king seeks of them, he is finding them tenfold above all the sacred scribes and magi which are in all his kingdom. Hence they are honored by the king; he constitutes them chiefs, and he finds them wiser in word than all those in his land and in his kingdom."

¹⁰ Answering are the Chaldeans before the king and saying, "Actually no mortal on earth can disclose the king's matter, forasmuch as any other king, grandee, or authority does not ask a matter such as this of any sacred scribe, or magus or Chaldean." ¹¹ The matter that the king is asking is heavy and extraordinary. Actually no other will disclose it before the king, only the elohim whose abode actually is not with any flesh." ¹² Wherefore the king is angry and has great wrath, and says to destroy all the wise men of Babylon."

⁷ Then went in the sacred scribes, the magi, the Chaldeans and the hieromancers, and I am stating the dream before them, yet its interpretation they did not make known to me."

⁶ Then the king's mien alters and his ruminations are flustering him; the ligaments of his loins loosen up, and his knees are knocking one against the other." ⁷ Calling is the king with potency to bring in the magi, the sacred scribes, the Chaldeans, and the hieromancers. Responding is the king and saying to the wise men of Babylon that, "Any mortal who will read this writing and disclose its interpretation to me shall be clothed in purple, with a circlet of gold about his neck, and as the third one in the kingdom shall he have authority." ⁸ Then going in are all the king's wise men, yet they can not read the writing nor make known its interpretation to the king."

²⁰ Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the discusser of this eon? Does not God make stupid the wisdom of this world? ²¹ For since, in fact, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom knew not God, God delights, through the stupidity of the heralding, to save those who are believing, ²² since, in fact, Jews signs are requesting, and Greeks wisdom are seeking, ²³ yet we are heralding Christ crucified, to Jews, indeed, a snare, yet to the nations stupidity, ²⁴ yet to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ, the power of God and the wisdom of God, ²⁵ for the stupidity of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men." ²⁶ For you are observing your calling, brethren, that there are not many wise according to the flesh; not many powerful, not many noble, ²⁷ but the stupidity of the world God chooses, that He may be disgracing the wise, and the weakness of the world God chooses, that He may be disgracing the strong,

¹⁹ for the wisdom of this world is stupidity with God. For it is written, "He is clutching the wise in their craftiness." ²⁰ And again, The Lord knows the reasonings of the wise, that they are vain."

⁴ Then Moses said: Thus Yahweh has spoken, About midnight I am going forth in the midst of Egypt. ⁵ And every firstborn in the land of Egypt will die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh, sitting on his throne, unto the firstborn of the maid who is behind the millstones and every firstborn of beast. ⁶ There will come to be a great cry in all the land of Egypt, such as it has not occurred, and such as it shall not occur again.

²⁹ It came to be at midnight that Yahweh, He smote every firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh, sitting on his throne, unto the firstborn of the captive who was in the house of the cistern, and every firstborn of beast. ³⁰ When Pharaoh rose by night, he and all his servants and all the Egyptians, then there came to be a great cry in all the land of Egypt, for there was no house where there was no one dead.

³ And he has given on that day a sign, saying, `This [is] the sign that Yahweh has spoken, Lo, the altar is rent, and the ashes poured forth that [are] on it.. <sup>4</sup> And it comes to pass, at the king's hearing the word of the man of Elohim that he calls against the altar in Beth-El, that Jeroboam puts forth his hand from off the altar, saying, `Catch him;' and his hand is dried up that he has put forth against him, and he is not able to bring it back unto him, ⁵ and the altar is rent, and the ashes poured forth from the altar, according to the sign that the man of Elohim had given by the word of Yahweh.

³⁶ And it comes to pass, at the going up of the [evening -]present, that Elijah the prophet comes nigh and said, `Yahweh, Elohim of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, to-day let it be known that You [are] Elohim in Israel, and I Your servant, that by Your word I have done the whole of these things;" ³⁷ answer me, O Yahweh, answer me, and this people does know that You [are] Yahweh Elohim; and You have turned their heart backward.. ³⁸ And there falls a fire of Yahweh, and consumes the burnt-offering, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and the water that [is] in the trench it has licked up.

⁷⁰ The priests, the Levites and some of the people, the singers, the gatekeepers and the Nethinim were dwelling in their cities, and all Israel in their cities.

³ and they say to me, `Those left, who have been left of the captivity there in the province, [are] in great evil, and in reproach, and the wall of Jerusalem is broken down, and its gates have been burnt with fire..

³ and say to the king, `Let the king to the eon live! wherefore should not my face be sad, when the city, the place of the graves of my fathers, [is] a waste, and its gates have been consumed with fire?.

¹ And Eliashib the high priest rises, and his brethren the priests, and they build the sheep-gate; they have sanctified it, and set up its doors, even unto the tower of Meah they have sanctified it, unto the tower of Hananeel;" ² and by his hand have men of Jericho built; and by their hand has Zaccur son of Imri built; ³ and the fish-gate have sons of Hassenaah built, they have walled it, and set up its doors, its locks, and its bars. ⁴ And by their hand has Merimoth son of Urijah, son of Koz, strengthened; and by his hand has Meshullam son of Berechiah, son of Meshezabeel, strengthened; and by his hand has Zadok son of Baana strengthened;" ⁵ and by his hand have the Tekoites strengthened, and their honorable ones have not brought in their neck to the service of their Lord. ⁶ And the old gate have Jehoiada son of Paseah, and Meshullam son of Besodeiah, strengthened; they have walled it, and set up its doors, and its locks, and its bars. ⁷ And by their hand has Melatiah the Gibeonite strengthened, and Jadon the Meronothite, men of Gibeon and of Mizpah, to the throne of the governor beyond the River. ⁸ By his hand has Uzziel son of Harhaiah of the refiners strengthened; and by his hand has Hananiah son of [one of] the compounders strengthened; and they leave Jerusalem unto the broad wall. ⁹ And by their hand has Rephaiah son of Hur, head of the half of the district of Jerusalem, strengthened. ¹⁰ And by their hand has Jedaiah son of Harumaph strengthened, and over-against his own house; and by his hand has Hattush son of Hashabniah strengthened. ¹¹ A second measure has Malchijah son of Harim strengthened, and Hashub son of Pahath-Moab, even the tower of the furnaces. ¹² And by his hand has Shallum son of Halohesh, head of the half of the district of Jerusalem, strengthened, he and his daughters. ¹³ The gate of the valley has Hanun strengthened, and the inhabitants of Zanoah; they have built it, and set up its doors, its locks, and its bars, and a thousand cubits in the wall unto the dung-gate. ¹⁴ And the dung-gate has Malchijah son of Rechab, head of the district of Beth-Haccerem, strengthened; he does built it, and set up its doors, its locks, and its bars. ¹⁵ And the gate of the fountain has Shallum son of Col-Hozeh, head of the district of Mizpah, strengthened:he does build it, and cover it, and set up its doors, its locks, and its bars, and the wall of the pool of Siloah, to the garden of the king, and unto the steps that are going down from the city of David. ¹⁶ After him has Nehemiah son of Azbuk, head of the half of the district of Beth-Zur, strengthened, unto over-against the graves of David, and unto the pool that is made, and unto the house of the mighty ones. ¹⁷ After him have the Levites strengthened, [and] Rehum son of Bani:by his hand has Hashabiah, head of the half of the district of Keilah, strengthened, for his district. ¹⁸ After him have their brethren strengthened, [and] Bavvai son of Henadad, head of the half of the district of Keilah. ¹⁹ And Ezer son of Jeshua, head of Mizpah, does strengthen, by his hand, a second measure, from over-against the ascent of the armory at the angle. ²⁰ After him has Baruch son of Zabbai hastened to strengthen a second measure from the angle unto the opening of the house of Eliashib the high priest. ²¹ After him has Meremoth son of Urijah, son of Koz, strengthened, a second measure, from the opening of the house of Eliashib even unto the completion of the house of Eliashib. ²² And after him have the priests, men of the circuit, strengthened. ²³ After them has Benjamin strengthened, and Hashub, over-against their house; after him has Azariah son of Maaseiah, son of Ananiah, strengthened, near his house. ²⁴ After him has Binnui son of Henadad strengthened, a second measure, from the house of Azariah unto the angle, and unto the corner. ²⁵ Palal son of Uzai, from over-against the angle, and the tower that is going out from the upper house of the king that [is] at the court of the prison; after him Pedaiah son of Parosh. ²⁶ And the Nethinim have been dwelling in Ophel, unto over-against the water-gate at the east, and the tower that goes out. ²⁷ After him have the Tekoites strengthened, a second measure, from over-against the great tower that goes out, and unto the wall of Ophel. ²⁸ From above the horse-gate have the priests strengthened, each over-against his house. ²⁹ After them has Zadok son of Immer strengthened, over against his house; and after him has Shemaiah son of Shechaniah, keeper of the east gate, strengthened. ³⁰ After him has Hananiah son of Shelemiah strengthened, and Hanun the sixth son of Zalaph, a second measure; after him has Meshullam son of Berechiah strengthened, over-against his chamber. ³¹ After him has Malchijah son of the refiner strengthened, unto the house of the Nethinim, and of the merchants, over-against the gate of the Miphkad, and unto the ascent of the corner. ³² And between the ascent of the corner and the sheep-gate, have the refiners and the merchants strengthened.

¹³ You Yourself shall rise; You shall have compassion on Zion, For it is the era to be gracious to her, Since the appointed time has come." ¹⁴ For Your servants hold her stones dear, And they show favor to her soil." ¹⁵ The nations shall fear the Name of Yahweh, And all the kings of the earth Your glory." ¹⁶ For Yahweh will build up Zion; He will appear in His glory.

² Yahweh is building up Jerusalem; He is collecting together the expelled of Israel,

³ For right and left shall you breach, and your seed shall tenant nations, and the desolated cities shall be indwelt."

¹¹ Humbled! Tempest-tossed! Not comforted! Behold! I will cause your stones to be embedded in pigment. And your foundation I lay with sapphires." ¹² And I make of brilliants your sun-slits, and your gates of stones that kindle, and all your boundary with stones delightful."

¹² And built by you shall be places deserted for the eon. The foundations of generation after generation shall you raise. And you shall be called, "Diker of the breach, restorer of tracks you ceased to use."

¹⁰ And your walls are built by sons of foreigners, and their kings shall minister to you. For, in My wrath, I smote you, yet, in My acceptance, I have compassion on you."

⁴ And they will build the places deserted for an eon; the former desolations shall they raise. And they will renew the cities deserted; the desolations of generation after generation shall they raise.

¹⁸ Thus said Yahweh:Lo, I turn back [to] the captivity of the tents of Jacob, And his dwelling places I pity, And the city has been built on its heap, And the palace according to its ordinance remains."

⁴ Again do I build you, And you have been built, O virgin of Israel, Again you put on your tabrets, And have gone out in the chorus of the playful."

³⁸ Lo, days [are coming], an affirmation of Yahweh, And the city has been built to Yahweh, From the tower of Hananeel to the gate of the corner." ³⁹ And gone out again has the measuring line Over-against it, unto the height of Gareb, And it has compassed to Goah." ⁴⁰ And all the valley of the carcases and of the ashes, And all the fields unto the brook Kidron, Unto the corner of the horse-gate eastward, [Are] holy to Yahweh, it is not plucked up, Nor is it thrown down any more to the eon!"

¹⁵ For thus said Yahweh of Hosts, Elohim of Israel, Again are houses and fields and vineyards bought in this land.'"

⁴⁴ Fields with money they buy, so as to write in a book, and to seal, and to cause witnesses to testify, in the land of Benjamin, and in suburbs of Jerusalem, and in cities of Judah, and in cities of the hill-country, and in cities of the low country, and in cities of the south, for I turn back their captivity--an affirmation of Yahweh.'"

⁷ And I have turned back the captivity of Judah, And the captivity of Israel, And I have built them as at the first,

¹⁰ And I have multiplied on you men, All the house of Israel--all of it, And the cities have been inhabited, And the wastes are built."

³³ Thus said the Lord Yahweh:In the day of My cleansing you from all your iniquities, I have caused the cities to be inhabited, And the wastes have been built, ³⁴ And the desolate land is tilled, Instead of which it was a desolation before the eyes of every passer by, ³⁵ And they have said:This land, that was desolated, Has been as the garden of Eden, And the cities--the wasted, And the desolated, and the broken down, Fenced places have remained." ³⁶ And known have the nations who are left round about you, That I Yahweh have built the thrown down, I have planted the desolated:I Yahweh have spoken, and I have done [it]."

¹⁷ Thus said the Lord Yahweh:Are you he of whom I spoke in former days, By the hand of My servants, prophets of Israel, Who are prophesying in those days--years, To bring you in against them?

²⁵ And you shall know and be intelligent:From the faring forth of the word to cause a return and to rebuild Jerusalem--from then till Messiah the Governor is seven sevens, and sixty-two sevens. It will return and will be rebuilt, square and salient, even in eras of constraint."

¹⁴ And I will reverse the captivity of My people Israel, and they shall build the desolated cities and dwell in them. And they shall plant vineyards and drink their wine, and shall make gardens and eat their fruit."

⁶ Yea, My words and My statutes, which you have received, which I instruct, by My spirit, My servants the prophets, did they not overtake your forefathers? And they are turning away and are saying:Just as Yahweh of hosts plans to do to us, as fits our ways and our actions, so He does with us."

⁴ And he is saying to him, Run, speak to this youth, saying:As unwalled villages shall Jerusalem dwell, because of the multitude of humans and beasts in her midst."

⁶ In that day I will make the mentors of Judah as a chafing pan of fire among sticks, and as a torch of fire in a sheaf, and they devour all the peoples round about, on the right and on the left. Jerusalem shall still dwell under herself, in Jerusalem."

¹⁰ All the land shall be round about as the gorge from Geba to Rimmon, as the south rim of Jerusalem. Yet it is high, and under itself it shall be indwelt from the gate of Benjamin unto the place of the first gate, unto the gate of the corners and from the tower of Hananeel, unto the king's wine vats." ¹¹ And they shall dwell in it, and doom is coming no more, and Jerusalem shall dwell trustingly."

¹⁸ For verily, I am saying to you, Till heaven and earth should be passing by, one iota or one serif may by no means be passing by from the law till all should be occurring.

⁵⁶ Now the whole of this has occurred that the scriptures of the prophets may be fulfilled.Then all His disciples, leaving Him, fled."

⁴⁴ Now He said to them, "These are My words, which I speak to you, still being with you, for all must be fulfilled that is written in the law of Moses and the prophets and psalms concerning Me."

²⁵ For David is saying to Him, I saw the Lord before me continually, Seeing that He is at my right hand, that I may not be shaken." ²⁶ Therefore gladdened was my heart, And exultant my tongue. Now, still my flesh also shall be tenting in expectation, ²⁷ For Thou wilt not be forsaking my soul in the unseen, Nor wilt Thou be giving Thy Benign One to be acquainted with decay." ²⁸ Thou makest known to me the paths of life. Thou wilt be filling me with gladness with Thy face.'

¹⁹ And we are having the prophetic word more confirmed, which you, doing ideally, are heeding (as to a lamp appearing in a dingy place, till the day should be breaking and the morning star should be rising) in your hearts, ²⁰ knowing this first, that no prophecy of scripture at all is becoming its own explanation." ²¹ For not by the will of man was prophecy carried on at any time, but, being carried on by holy spirit, holy men of God speak."

¹⁵ You Yourself rent open spring and watercourse; You Yourself dried up the perennial streams.

¹⁵ Then Yahweh will drain the tongue of the sea of Egypt, and wave His hand over the stream with the vehemence of His wind, and smite it into seven watercourses, and one will tread it in sandals" ¹⁶ And there comes to be a highway for the remnant of His people, who will remain from Assyria, and in Egypt, as it came to be for Israel in the day they came up from the land of Egypt."

¹⁵ I will drain mountains and hills, and all their herbage will I dry up. And I convert streams into arid areas, and the marshes will I dry up."

¹⁶ Thus says Yahweh, the One making a way in the sea, and in the strong waters a track,

¹⁵ And I am Yahweh, your Elohim, Luller of the sea, when clamoring are its billows. Yahweh of hosts is My name."

³⁸ A sword [is] on her waters, and they have been dried up, For it [is] a land of graven images, And in idols they do boast themselves."

³² And the passages have been captured, And the reeds they have burnt with fire, And the men of war have been troubled."

³⁶ Therefore, thus said Yahweh:Lo, I am pleading your cause, And I have avenged your vengeance, And dried up its sea, and made its fountains dry."

¹² And the sixth pours out his bowl on the great river Euphrates. And its water is dried up that the road of the kings from the orient may be made ready.

²² And in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, at the completion of the word of Yahweh in the mouth of Jeremiah, has Yahweh waked up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, and he causes an intimation to pass over into all his kingdom, and also in writing, saying,

³ In year one of king Cyrus, king Cyrus promulgated a decree concerning the House of Eloah in Jerusalem:Let the House be rebuilt, a place for sacrificing sacrifices, and its foundations should be retained. Let its height be sixty cubits and its breadth be sixty cubits, ⁴ three courses of dressed stone and one course of timber; and let disbursement be granted from the king's house. ⁵ Also, the gold and silver vessels of the House of Eloah should be returned that Nebuchadnezzar had taken from the temple in Jerusalem and had transferred to Babylon. Let each go back to the temple in Jerusalem to its place; you shall put it down in the House of Eloah. ⁶ Now you, Tattenai viceroy Beyond-the Stream, Shethar-Bozenai, and you, their colleagues, the officials of Beyond-the-Stream, stay away from there. ⁷ Leave the viceroy of the Judeans and the greyhaired elders of the Judeans alone for the work on this House of Eloah. Let them rebuild this House of Eloah on its site. ⁸ So a decree is being promulgated from me as to what you shall do for these greyhaired elders of the Judeans in the rebuilding of this House of Eloah. Out of the king's resources, from the tribute of the province Beyond-the-Stream, disbursement shall be fully granted to these masters, so as not to halt the work. ⁹ And what is needed, such as young bulls, rams and lambs for ascent offerings to Eloah of the heavens, wheat, salt, turbid wine and oil, according to the word of the priests in Jerusalem, let it be granted to them day by day without fail, ¹⁰ so that they may be offering fragrant incense to Eloah of the heavens and be praying for the life of the king and his sons. ¹¹ So a decree is being promulgated from me that, as for any man who violates this rescript, a beam shall be torn out of his house; and lifted up, he shall be impaled on it. And his house shall be turned into ruins on account of this. ¹² May Eloah Who made His Name tabernacle there, overturn any king or people that stretches out his hand to disobey this rescript by harming this House of Eloah in Jerusalem. I, Darius, have promulgated the decree. Let it be carried out thoroughly. ¹³ Then Tattenai viceroy Beyond-the-Stream, Shethar-Bozenai and their colleagues carried this out thoroughly, just as king Darius had sent word. ¹⁴ So the greyhaired elders of the Judeans and the Levites were rebuilding and prospering because of the prophecy of Haggai the prophet and Zechariah son of Iddo. Thus they rebuilt and completed the work due to the command of Eloah of Israel and due to a decree of Cyrus and Darius and Artaxerxes king of Persia. ¹⁵ This House was finished on day three of the month of Adar, that is, in the year six of the reign of king Darius. ¹⁶ The sons of Israel, the priests, the Levites and the rest of the sons of the deportation held the dedication of this House of Eloah with exhilaration. ¹⁷ And they offered for the dedication of this House of Eloah a hundred bulls, two hundred rams, four hundred lambs, and as a sin offering for all Israel, twelve he-goats of the goats, according to the number of the tribes of Israel. ¹⁸ They set up the priests in their distributions and the Levites in their apportionments for the service of Eloah in Jerusalem, as prescribed in the scroll of Moses.

⁷¹ From following the ewes, He brought him To shepherd Jacob, His people, And Israel, His allotment." ⁷² So he shepherded them in the integrity of his heart, And by the understanding of his palms, he guided them."

³² And what will they answer, the messengers of a nation? That Yahweh founds Zion, and in it the humble of His people will find refuge."

¹ Thus says Yahweh Elohim to His anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I hold fast, to sway over nations before him, and the waists of kings will I unloose, to open the doors before him, and the gates shall not be closed."

³ And I give to you treasures of darkness. And those buried in concealment will I open for you, that you may know that I, Yahweh Elohim, calling you by your name, am the Elohim of Israel."

¹³ I, I rouse him in righteousness, and all his ways am I straightening. He shall build My city, and My deportation he will let go, not for a price, and not for a bribe,says Yahweh of hosts."

¹¹ Calling from the sunrise, a bird of prey, from a land far off, the man of My counsel. Indeed, I speak! Indeed, I will bring it about! I formed. Indeed, I will do it."

¹⁴ Convene, all of you, and hear! Who among you tells these things? Yahweh loves him, he who will do His desire in Babylon, when His arm is on the Chaldeans." ¹⁵ I, yea I, I speak. Indeed, I call him. I bring him, and I prosper his way."

¹¹ Yet He will remember the days of the eon of Moses and His people. Where is He Who brought them up from the sea with the shepherd of His flock? Where is He Who placed within them His holy spirit,

¹ In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia a matter was revealed to Daniel whose name is called Belteshazzar; the matter is true and the host is great; he understood the matter and an understanding has he of the sight.
