² For what reason, when I came, was there no man? I called, and there was no answer? Is My hand too short to ransom? Or should no vigor be in Me to rescue? Behold! By My rebuke will I drain the sea; I will convert streams into a wilderness. Their fish will dry up, because there is no water, and they will die from thirst."

¹⁴ Is it a matter too marvelous for Yahweh Elohim? At the appointed time will I return to you according to the season of life, and Sarah has a son.

¹⁸ and the fish which are in the waterway shall die, and the waterway will stink, and the Egyptians will be too repelled to drink the waters from the waterway.

²¹ The fish which were in the waterway died, and the waterway stank so that the Egyptians were unable to drink the waters from the waterway. And the blood came to be in all the land of Egypt.

²¹ Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and, by a strong east wind all the night, Yahweh caused the sea to go. Thus He made in the sea a drained area when the waters were split apart.

²⁹ Yet the sons of Israel, they went on dry ground in the midst of the sea, and the waters were to them a wall on their right and on their left.

²³ And Yahweh said to Moses:The hand of Yahweh, is it short? Now shall you see whether My word shall happen to you or not.

¹⁶ that the waters stand; those coming down from above have risen--one heap, very far above Adam the city, which [is] at the side of Zaretan; and those going down by the sea of the plain, the Salt Sea, have been completely cut off; and the people have passed through over-against Jericho;"

¹⁵ `And, now, let not Hezekiah lift you up, nor persuade you thus, nor give credence to him, for no elohim of any nation and kingdom is able to deliver his people from my hand, and from the hand of my fathers:also, surely your Eloah does not deliver you from my hand!.

⁹ He rebuked the Sea of Weeds, and it became drained, And He enabled them to walk through the abyss as through a wilderness."

³³ He can convert streams into wilderness, And flowing wells of water into thirsty ground,

³ The sea, it looked and fled; The Jordan, it turned around backward." ⁴ The mountains, they danced like rams, The hills like the young of the flock." ⁵ What is it with you, O sea, that you are fleeing, Jordan, that you are turning around backward, ⁶ Mountains, that you are dancing like rams. Hills, like the young of the flock? ⁷ At the presence of the Lord, travail, O earth, At the presence of the Elohim of Jacob,

²⁴ Because I called, and you refused, I stretched out my hand, and no one attended,

⁵ And absorbed are the waters from the upper sea, and the stream shall be drained and be dry."

²⁰ Which, among all the elohim of these lands, have rescued their land from my hand, assuring you that Yahweh will rescue Jerusalem from my hand?'"

²⁸ yet I am seeing, and there is no man, and of these also, there is no counsellor, that I should ask them, and they should reply with a word."

¹⁵ I will drain mountains and hills, and all their herbage will I dry up. And I convert streams into arid areas, and the marshes will I dry up."

¹⁶ Thus says Yahweh, the One making a way in the sea, and in the strong waters a track,

¹⁰ Are not you He, the Drainer of the sea, the waters of the vast submerged chaos? He Who places in the depths of the sea a way for the passing of the redeemed?

¹ Behold! The hand of Yahweh is not too short to save! And His ear is not too heavy to hear!

¹⁶ And He is seeing that there is no man, and He is dejected that there is no intercessor. Yet His arm will save for Him, and His righteousness, it supports Him."

¹³ conducting them in the submerged chaos? As a horse in the wilderness, they are not stumbling."

¹² I count you for the sword, and all of you for slaughter shall be hacked down. Because I called, yet you did not answer, I spoke, yet you did not hearken. And you are doing evil in My eyes. And what I do not desire, that you choose."

⁴ Moreover, I, I will choose among their unweaned, and their shrinking ones will I bring to them, because I called and there was no answer, I spoke and they did not hearken. And they are doing evil in My eyes, and what I do not desire, that they choose."

¹ Go to and fro in streets of Jerusalem, And see, I pray you, and know, And seek in her broad places, if you find a man, If there be one doing judgment, seeking stedfastness--Then am I propitious to her."

¹³ And now, because of your doing all these works, An affirmation of Yahweh, And I speak unto you, rising early and speaking, And you have not hearkened, And I call you, and you have not answered,

⁶ I have given attention, yea, I hearken, They do not speak right, No man has repented of his wickedness, Saying, What have I done? Every one has turned to his courses, As a horse is rushing into battle."

¹⁵ And I send unto you all My servants the prophets, rising early and sending, saying:Turn back, I pray you, each from his evil way, and amend your doings, yea, you do not walk after other elohims, to serve them, and dwell you on the ground that I have given to you and to your fathers; and you have not inclined your ear, nor hearkened unto Me."

¹⁵ Actually, should you now be ready, then, as soon as you are hearing the sound of the horn, the pipe, the lyre, the sambuke, the psalteries--all sorts of music in concert--you shall fall down and worship the golden image that I made. And should you not be ready, you know that if you are not worshiping, in the same hour shall you be heaved into the midst of the glowing, flaming furnace. And who is the eloah that will deliver you from my hands?

²⁹ Now from me shall be promulgated a decree that, in every people, league, and language-group, whoever is saying aught carelessly against their Eloah--that of Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego--shall be dismembered and his house shall be the equivalent of a confiscation, forasmuch as there is actually not another Eloah Who can rescue as this One."

²⁰ In a fluster he departs to the vault of the lions, and, as he is near the vault, he cries out to Daniel in a staunch voice. Calling is the king to Daniel and saying, "Daniel, servant of the living Eloah, your Eloah Whom you are serving in abidance, He could deliver you from the mouths of the lions?

²⁷ He is delivering and rescuing. He is doing signs and amazing things in the heavens and on the earth--He Who delivers Daniel from the paws of the lions."

² As I call to them, so they go from My presence. To Baals they are sacrificing, and to carvings they are fuming incense."

⁷ My people are hung on backsliding from Me; though they are proclaiming Him as the Supreme, not one is exalting Him."

⁴ He is rebuking the sea, and is drying it, and all the streams He drains. Enfeebled is Bashan and Carmel, and the bud of Lebanon is enfeebled."

³⁹ And, being roused, He rebukes the wind and said to the sea, "Be silent! Be still!And the wind flags, and there came a great calm."

¹¹ To His own He came, and those who are His own accepted Him not."

¹⁹ Now this is the judging: that the light has come into the world, and men love the darkness rather than the light, for their acts were wicked."
