⁴² Come up against Babylon has the sea, With a multitude of its billows it has been covered."

⁴ The cables of death have enveloped me, And the torrents of decadence, they frighten me."

¹⁶ He sent from the height; He took me; He removed me from many waters;

⁷ Abyss to abyss is calling in the sound of Your cataracts; All Your breakers and Your billows, they pass over me."

⁷ Becalming the tumult of the seas, The tumult of their billows and clamor of the national groups."

³ The streams lift up, O Yahweh, The streams lift up their voice; The streams shall lift up their crushing waves."

²⁶ Into great waters have they brought you, Those rowing you, The east wind has broken you in the heart of the seas." ²⁷ Your wealth and your remnants, Your merchandise, your mariners, And your pilots, strengtheners of your breach, And the traders of your merchandise, And all your men of war, who [are] in you, And in all your assembly that [is] in your midst, Fall into the heart of the seas in the day of your fall, ²⁸ At the voice of the cry of your pilots shake do the suburbs. ²⁹ And come down from their ships have all handling an oar, Mariners, all the pilots of the sea, on the land they stand, ³⁰ And have sounded for you with their voice, And cry bitterly, and cause dust to go up on their heads, In ashes they do roll themselves." ³¹ And they have made for you baldness, And they have girded on sackcloth, And they have wept for you, In bitterness of soul--a bitter mourning." ³² And lifted up for you have their sons a lamentation, And they have lamented over you, who [is] as Tyre? As the cut-off one in the midst of the sea? ³³ With the outgoing of your remnants from the seas, You have filled many peoples, With the abundance of your riches, and your merchandise, You have made rich things of earth." ³⁴ The time of [your] being broken by the seas in the depths of the waters, Your merchandise and all your assembly in your midst have fallen."
