⁵⁷ And I have caused its princes to drink, And its wise men, its governors, And its prefects, and its mighty ones, And they have slept a sleep eonian, And they awake not--an affirmation of the king, Yahweh of Hosts [is] His name."

⁵ The sturdy of heart are looted; They slumber in their last sleep, And none of the men of valor can use their hands." ⁶ At Your rebuke, O Elohim of Jacob, Stupefied are both rider and horse."

⁴ My heart has strayed; shuddering frightens me. The soul to which I am attached brings me into trembling. ⁵ Arrange the table! Watch, yea, watch! Eat! Drink! Rise, chiefs! Anoint the shield!"

³⁶ And faring forth is a messenger of Yahweh and smiting in the Assyrian camp a hundred and eighty five thousand. And the king is rising early in the morning--and behold! All of them are corpses--dead!

²⁷ And you have said unto them:Thus said Yahweh of Hosts Elohim of Israel, Drink you, yea drink abundantly, And vomit, and fall, and rise not, Because of the sword that I am sending among you."

¹⁸ I live--an affirmation of the King, Yahweh of Hosts [is] His name, Surely as Tabor [is] among mountains, And as Carmel by the sea--he comes in,

¹⁵ Spoiled is Moab, and her cities has one gone up, And the choice of its young men Have gone down to slaughter, An affirmation of the King, Yahweh of Hosts [is] His name."

³⁹ In their heat I make their banquets, And I have caused them to drink, so that they exult, And have slept a sleep eonian, And awake not--an affirmation of Yahweh."

¹ Belshazzar the king makes a grand dinner for a thousand of his grandees and is drinking turbid wine in view of the thousand. ² When tasting the turbid wine, Belshazzar says to bring hither the gold and silver vessels of the house of Eloah which his grandfather Nebuchadnezzar had taken from the temple in Jerusalem, that they may drink from them--the king and his grandees, his consorts and his concubines." ³ Then they bring hither the gold and silver vessels which they had taken from the temple, the house of the Eloah in Jerusalem. And they drink from them--the king and his grandees, his consorts and his concubines." ⁴ They drink the turbid wine and laud the elohim of gold, silver, copper, iron, wood, and stone."

³⁰ In the same night Belshazzar is despatched, the king of the Chaldeans. Thus the interpretation comes on Belshazzar the king:The kingdom is taken away from the Chaldeans and given to the Medes and Persians." ³¹ And Darius the Mede received the kingdom, being about sixty-two years old."

¹⁰ Though they are still as entangled briars, and as those groggy with their grog, they shall be devoured as straw fully dry."

¹⁵ Woe to him giving his associate drink, adjoining your fury, and, indeed, making him drunk that he may look on their nakedness." ¹⁶ You are satisfied with dishonor rather than glory; you, moreover, drink and be uncircumcised. The cup of Yahweh's right hand shall go around to you, and ignominy is added to your glory." ¹⁷ For the violence to Lebanon shall vex you, and the devastation to beasts shall dismay you, because of human blood and the violence to the land, to the town and all dwelling in it."

¹⁴ And cursed be the plotter, when there is a male in his drove, and his vow is on him, yet he is sacrificing what is ruined to Yahweh. For a great King am I, says Yahweh of hosts, and My name is feared among the nations."

⁶ Pay her as she also pays, and double the doubles, in accord with her acts. In her cup in which she blends, blend double for her." ⁷ As much as she glorifies herself and indulges, so much torment and mourning be giving her, for she is saying in her heart, 'I am sitting a queen, and am no widow, and mourning I may by no means see.'"

⁹ And the kings of the earth, who commit prostitution and indulge with her, will be lamenting and grieving over her whenever they may be observing the smoke of her conflagration,
