¹ Behold, my eye has seen all these things; My ear has heard and understands it. ² Where you have knowledge, so also do I know; I am not falling behind you. ³ Howbeit, as for me, I would speak to Him Who Suffices, And to plead with El is what I desire. ⁴ Howbeit, you are smearing with falsehood, Useless healers are all of you. ⁵ O that you would keep silent, yea silent, That would be wisdom for you. ⁶ Hear now my reproof, And to the contentions of my lips, attend. ⁷ Is it for El that you speak iniquity? And for Him that you speak deceitfully? ⁸ Would you lift up His face? Would you contend for El? ⁹ Would it be well if He were investigating you? Could you trifle with Him as one trifles with a mortal? ¹⁰ He shall reprove, yea reprove you, If in secrecy you lift up faces. ¹¹ Will His majestic bearing not frighten you, And the awe of Him fall upon you? ¹² Your maxims are proverbs of ashes; Your bulwarks are bulwarks of clay. ¹³ Keep silent me, and let me speak, And whatever comes shall pass upon me. ¹⁴ For what reason should I take up my flesh in my teeth, And should I place my soul in my palm? ¹⁵ Behold, He may despatch me, yet I shall wait for Him; Yea, I shall plead my ways before His face. ¹⁶ Moreover, this will be salvation for me, For a polluted man would not come before Him. ¹⁷ Hear, yea hear my declaration, And let my disclosure come into your ears. ¹⁸ Behold now, I have arranged a plea; I know that I shall be justified. ¹⁹ Who is he who shall contend with me? For I would then keep silent and expire. ²⁰ Only two things, O do not do to me; Then I shall not conceal myself from Your face. ²¹ Keep Your palm far from me, And let not the dread of You frighten me. ²² Either call, and I shall answer, Or I shall speak; then, I pray, reply to me. ²³ How many are my depravities and sins? Let me know my transgression and my sin. ²⁴ Why should You conceal Your face And reckon me as Your enemy? ²⁵ Would You terrify a leaf being whisked away? And would You pursue dry straw? ²⁶ That You may write bitter things against me, And impute to me the depravities of my youth, ²⁷ And that You may place my feet in stocks And keep guard over all my paths; That You may delineate the roots of my feet. ²⁸ A man, he, like a rotten thing, he is disintegrating, Like a cloak when a moth has eaten it.

¹² Now a word was brought stealthily to me, And my ear took hold of a little buzz of it.

⁹ Doer of great deeds, of which there is no fathoming, Marvelous works of which there is no enumeration, ¹⁰ Who is giving rain on the surface of the earth And sending waters over the surface of the open places. ¹¹ In order to set the lowly on high, And so the somber may become impregnable in safety, ¹² He is annulling the devisings of the crafty, So that their hands may not achieve prosperity, ¹³ Seizing the wise in their craftiness, So that their cunning counsel is carried headlong. ¹⁴ By day they encounter darkness, And as in the night, they grope at noon. ¹⁵ He saves the deserted from their mouth And the needy from the hand of the unyielding. ¹⁶ Hence there comes to be expectation for the poor, And iniquity, it shuts its mouth.

²⁷ Behold this, we have investigated it; it is so; Do hear it; and you, get to know it for yourself.

⁸ For ask, I pray, of the former generation, And establish yourself in the investigations of their fathers. ⁹ For we are of yesterday, and we know nothing, For our days on the earth are but a shadow. ¹⁰ Shall they not direct you, apprise you And bring forth declarations from their heart?

⁹ Who among all these does not know That the hand of Eloah, it has done this? ¹⁰ In Whose hand is every living soul And the spirit in all flesh of man. ¹¹ Does not the ear test declarations As the palate tastes its food? ¹² Does wisdom come with being hoary-headed, And understanding with length of days? ¹³ With Him is wisdom and mastery; His are counsel and understanding. ¹⁴ Behold, He demolishes, and it shall not be rebuilt; He locks up a man, and it shall not be opened. ¹⁵ Behold, He restrains the waters, and they dry up, Or He sends them forth, and they overrun the earth. ¹⁶ With Him are strength and prosperity; Both the erring one and the one causing error are His. ¹⁷ Causing counselors to go forth looted, He also makes judges rave as fools. ¹⁸ He unlooses the disciplining authority of kings, And He binds a belt about their waists. ¹⁹ Causing priests to go forth looted, He also overthrows the well-established. ²⁰ Putting away the eloquence of the sure, He also takes away the discretion of elders. ²¹ Pouring out contempt on patrons, He also makes the cordon of the mighty repressors to slacken. ²² Exposing the deep things out of darkness, He also brings forth the blackest shadow to light. ²³ Making nations grow great, He also destroys them; Spreading out nations, He also guides them away. ²⁴ Putting away wisdom of heart from the heads of the people of the earth, He also makes them stray in a roadless waste. ²⁵ They grope in darkness with no light, And He makes them stray like a drunkard.

¹⁷ I shall disclose it to you; hear me; This which I have perceived, let me recount it, ¹⁸ That which the wise can tell, And they suppressed nothing received from their fathers,

³ Who is this who obscures counsel without knowledge? Wherefore I have professed ideas when I was not understanding, Things too marvelous for me, that I did not know. ⁴ Hearken now, and I myself shall speak; I shall ask of you, and you inform Me. ⁵ With the hearing of the ear I had heard of You, But now my eye sees You. ⁶ Therefore I sink down and repent On soil and ashes.

³ Which we have heard, and we know them, And our fathers, they have recounted to us." ⁴ We shall not suppress them from their sons, Recounting to the next generation the praises of Yahweh, And His strength and His marvelous works that He has done."

³ That which we have seen and heard we are reporting to you also, that you too may be having fellowship with us, and yet this fellowship of ours is with the Father and with His Son, Jesus Christ."

³ However, I have heart understanding as well as you; I am not falling behind you; For who is there not knowing such things as these?

⁸ Do you hear the deliberation of Eloah, Or do you hold a monopoly for yourself on wisdom? ⁹ What do you know that we do not know, Or understand, and it is not with us?

³⁵ Job is not speaking with knowledge, And his words are not with intelligence.

¹⁶ Job is opening his mouth wide with vanity; He makes declarations abound without knowledge.

² Hearken, yea hearken to the thunderous sound of His voice And the rumbling soliloquy that comes forth from His mouth;"

⁴ Behold, I am slight; how can I reply to You? I place my hand upon my mouth. ⁵ I spoke once but shall not answer further, Twice, but I shall not continue.

⁷ It came to pass after Yahweh had spoken these words to Job that Yahweh said to Eliphaz the Temanite:My anger is hot against you and your two associates because you did not speak concerning Me what is rightly so as My servant Job has done.

¹ Now concerning the idol sacrifices: We are aware that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, yet love builds up." ² If anyone is presuming to know anything, he knew not as yet according as he must know."

⁴ For if, indeed, he who is coming is heralding another Jesus whom we do not herald, or you are obtaining a different spirit, which you did not obtain, or a different evangel, which you do not receive, you are bearing with him ideally. " ⁵ For I am reckoning to be deficient in nothing pertaining to the paramount apostles.

¹⁶ Again I am saying, no one should presume me to be imprudent. Otherwise surely, even if it should be as imprudent, receive me, that I also should boast some little! " ¹⁷ What I speak, I am not speaking in accord with the Lord, but as in imprudence, in this assumption of boasting. " ¹⁸ Since many are boasting according to the flesh, I also shall be boasting. "

¹¹ I have become imprudent; you compel me. For I ought to be commended by you, for I am not deficient in anything pertaining to the paramount apostles, even if I am nothing. "

³ If he desires to contend with Him, He shall not answer him one time out of a thousand.

¹⁴ Indeed, how should I answer Him Or choose my words with Him? ¹⁵ I, who, though I were righteous, am not answered When I am supplicating to my Judge,

³⁴ Let Him withdraw His club from me, And let not the dread of Him frighten me. ³⁵ Let me speak and not fear Him, But I am not so within me now.

⁵ But howbeit--O that Eloah would speak, That He should open His lips before you!"

¹⁵ Behold, He may despatch me, yet I shall wait for Him; Yea, I shall plead my ways before His face.

²² Either call, and I shall answer, Or I shall speak; then, I pray, reply to me.

³ O that I knew where I might find Him, That I might come unto His establishment!" ⁴ I would arrange a plea before Him And fill my mouth with pleadings. ⁵ I would know the declarations with which He shall answer, And I would understand what He shall say to me. ⁶ Shall He contend against me with an abundance of vigor? Surely He Himself shall not place charges against me! ⁷ There an upright man would plead with Him; Let me win deliverance permanently from my Judge.

³⁵ (O that I had someone hearing me! Behold, here is my mark; may He Who Suffices answer me! Let a man write his indictment against me on a scroll;"

¹⁸ Go, pray and it shall be corrected,saying is Yahweh. "If your sins are coming to be as double dipped scarlet, as snow shall they be white. If they are reddened as crimson, as wool shall they become." ¹⁹ If you are willing and hearken, the good of the land shall you eat." ²⁰ Yet if you are refusing and rebel, by the sword shall you be devoured. For the mouth of Yahweh speaks."

²¹ Bring your contention near!saying is Yahweh Elohim, "Bring your counselors close,saying is the King of Jacob."

¹ Righteous [are] You, O Yahweh, When I plead towards you, Only, judgments do I speak with You, Wherefore did the way of the wicked prosper? At rest have been all treacherous dealers." ² You have planted them, yea, they have taken root, They go on, yea, they have made fruit, Near [are] You in their mouth, And far off from their reins."

² Hear, you mountains, the contention of Yahweh, and you perennial foundations of the earth. For a contention has Yahweh with His people, and with Israel will He plead."

¹⁶ You shall not answer against your associate with false testimony.

⁷ Remember, I pray, who that is innocent perishes? And where then are the upright suppressed? ⁸ Just as I have seen, those who plow lawlessness And those who sow misery are harvesting it. ⁹ By the breath of Eloah are they perishing, And by the spirit of His nostrils are they being finished. ¹⁰ There is the roaring of the lion and the voice of the black lion, Yet the teeth of the sheltered lions are broken out;" ¹¹ The long-maned lion is perishing from lack of prey, And the cubs of the lioness are parted away.

¹ Call now! is there anyone who will answer you? And to which of the holy ones shall you face? ² Indeed vexation shall kill the foolish man, And jealousy shall put the simple one to death. ³ I myself have seen the foolish man taking root, And I reviled his homestead suddenly. ⁴ May his sons go far from safety, And may they be crushed in the gate when there is no rescuer. ⁵ His harvest, the hungry one shall eat, And he shall take it away to secluded places; Those thirsting will gasp for their estate.

²¹ Thus have you now become to me; You see dismay, and you are fearful.

³ Does El distort judgment, And should He Who Suffices distort justice? ⁴ If your sons sin against Him, Then He shall cast them out into the grip of their transgression.

² I have heard many things like these; Miserable comforters are you all.

⁵ Indeed the light of the wicked shall be extinguished, And the flare of his fire shall not brighten. ⁶ The light in his tent, it will become dark, And his lamp above him, it shall be extinguished. ⁷ The steps of his virility shall become constricted, And his own counsel shall fling him down. ⁸ For he will be sent forth into a net by his feet, And he shall walk about on the mesh. ⁹ A snare shall hold him by his heel; A snag shall hold fast onto him. ¹⁰ The line of a noose is buried for him in the earth, And a seizing device for him on his track. ¹¹ Decadent things frighten him round about, And they hound him at his every footstep. ¹² His virility shall be turned to famishing, And calamity stands ready against his vital organs. ¹³ His skin shall be eaten by sickness; The firstborn of death shall eat his organs. ¹⁴ He shall be pulled away from his tent where his trust had dwelt; And it makes him march to the king of decay. ¹⁵ It shall tabernacle in his tent which no longer is his; Sulfur shall be sifted about his homestead. ¹⁶ From beneath, his roots dry up, And from above, his harvest branches are snipped off. ¹⁷ His remembrance perishes from the earth, And he has no name on the face of the open place. ¹⁸ They shall thrust him from light into darkness, And they shall chase him from the habitance. ¹⁹ For him there is no posterity and no progeny among his people, And there will be no survivor in the places of his sojourning. ²⁰ Westerners are appalled at his day of ruin, And easterners hold back in horror. ²¹ Surely these were the tabernacles of an iniquitous man, And this was the place of one who knew not El.

²⁷ Behold, I know your reckonings And the plans that you wrongly make against me. ²⁸ For you are saying, Where is the house of the tyrant, And where are the tent tabernacles of the wicked? ²⁹ Have you not asked those passing on the way, And do you not admit their evidence, ³⁰ That the evil one is kept back in the day of calamity; In the day of rage they are escorted safely? ³¹ Who denounces his way to his face, And who repays him for what he himself has done? ³² When he is fetched to the place of tombs, Watch is set alert over the grave-mound. ³³ The clods of the watercourse are sweet to him; All humanity draws out after him, And there is no numbering of those before him. ³⁴ How then can you comfort me with vanity, When only offense remains in your replies?

⁶ For you have taken pledge from your brothers gratuitously, And you have stripped the garments of the naked. ⁷ No water have you given the faint to drink, And from the hungry have you withheld bread. ⁸ The man of the arm of power, he has the land, And he of repute is dwelling in it. ⁹ Widows you have sent away empty, And the arms of orphans you have crushed. ¹⁰ Therefore, snares are round about you, And sudden alarm fills you with panic;" ¹¹ Light has become darkness so you cannot see, And a concourse of water is covering you. ¹² Is not Eloah in the loftiness of the heavens? See the topmost stars, how high they are. ¹³ Yet you say, What does El know? Can He judge through murkiness? ¹⁴ Thick clouds are a concealment for Him, so that He cannot see, And He walks about the circle of the heavens. ¹⁵ Are you keeping the path of the eon of old That the men of lawlessness tread, ¹⁶ Who were arrested when not yet their time, When a stream was poured over their foundation, ¹⁷ Who were saying to El, Withdraw from us, And, What can He Who Suffices effect for us? ¹⁸ Yet He Himself had filled their houses with good; (Still the counsel of the wicked is far from me.) ¹⁹ The righteous see it and rejoice, And the innocent one derides them, saying. ²⁰ Assuredly whoever rose against us is suppressed, And fire has devoured their surplus. ²¹ Be careful, I pray, toward Him, and fare well, By these means good shall come to you. ²² Take hold, I pray, to the law from His mouth, And place His sayings in your heart. ²³ If you return unto Him Who Suffices and you submit, If you put iniquity far from your ten. ²⁴ And set aside your gold ore upon the soil, And wealth of Ophir among the rocks of the watercourses, ²⁵ Then He Who Suffices will become your gold ore And refined silver for you. ²⁶ For then you shall find pleasure for yourself in Him Who Suffices, And you shall lift your face to Eloah. ²⁷ You shall entreat Him, and He shall hear you, And you shall pay your vows. ²⁸ When you prescribe a matter, it shall be confirmed to you, And light will brighten your ways. ²⁹ When they abase, then you may claim pride, For He shall save the downcast of eyes. ³⁰ He shall give escape to the innocent man, And you shall escape by the purity of your palms.

⁶⁹ The arrogant smear me with falsehood; As for me, with all my heart I preserve Your precepts."

¹⁴ And they heal the breach of the daughter of my people slightly, Saying, `Peace, peace!' and there is no peace."

²² Is there no balm in Gilead? Is there no physician there? For wherefore has not the health of the daughter of my people gone up?

³² Lo, I [am] against the prophets of false dreams, An affirmation of Yahweh, And they recount them, and cause my people to err, By their falsehoods, and by their instability, And I--I have not sent them, Nor have I commanded them, And they are not at all profitable to this people, An affirmation of Yahweh."

¹³ There is none judging your cause to bind up, Healing medicines there are none for you."

¹¹ Go up to Gilead, and take balm, O virgin daughter of Egypt, In vain you have multiplied medicines, Healing there is none for you."

⁴ The weak you have not strengthened, And the sick one you have not healed, And the broken you have not bound up, And the driven away have not brought back, And the lost you have not sought, And with might you have ruled them and with rigor."

¹³ And Ephraim is seeing his illness, and Judah his malady; and Ephraim is going to Assyria, and he is sending messengers to king Jareb, yet he will not be able to heal you, nor will he cure you of your malady;"

¹⁷ And, hearing it, Jesus is saying to them that "No need have the strong of a physician, but those having an illness. I did not come to call the just, but sinners."

²⁶ and suffering much under many physicians, and spending her all and being nothing benefitted, but rather coming to be worse,

³ Shall your inventions turn men to silence? And shall you keep deriding while there is no one criticizing?

¹³ Keep silent me, and let me speak, And whatever comes shall pass upon me.

³ Will there be an end to such words of wind? Or what is harassing you that you should answer?

² How long before you shall make an end to these words? May you understand, and after that we shall speak.

² How long shall you afflict my soul And crush me with declarations?

² Hearken, yea hearken to my declaration, And let this be your consolations to me. ³ Bear with me while I am speaking, And after I have spoken, you may deride.

¹ So these three men ceased from answering Job, for he was righteous in his own eyes.

²⁸ Even a fool who keeps silence is reckoned wise; He who closes up his lips has understanding.

³ For as dreams come with much responsibility, So the voice of a stupid person comes with many words."

¹³ Wherefore, the intelligent in that season will be still, for it is an evil season."

¹⁹ Now you are aware, my beloved brethren! Yet let every man be swift to hear, tardy to speak, tardy to anger,

⁷ and they declare [it] to Jotham, and he goes and stands on the top of mount Gerizim, and lifts up his voice, and calls, and said to them, `Hearken unto me, O masters of Shechem, and Elohim does hearken unto you.

¹ Howbeit now, I pray, O Job, hear my declarations, And do give ear to all my words. ² Behold, now, I open my mouth; My tongue speaks in my palate. ³ My arguments reflect the uprightness of my heart, And my lips declare knowledge in purity.

² Hear my declarations, you wise men, And you having knowledge, give ear to me.

⁶ Hearken, for I am speaking correct words, And the opening of my lips reveals equities." ⁷ For my palate is soliloquizing truth, While wickedness is an abhorrence to my lips."

⁷ Remember, I pray, who that is innocent perishes? And where then are the upright suppressed?

² Shall this multitude of words not be answered? And should this man of glib lips be justified? ³ Shall your inventions turn men to silence? And shall you keep deriding while there is no one criticizing? ⁴ Now you say, My doctrine is pure, And I am purified in Your eyes.

⁵ Such a one is telling his associates to share a portion with him, While the eyes of his own sons are failing.

⁴ My lips shall assuredly not speak iniquity, And my tongue, it shall assuredly not soliloquize deceit.

²¹ Indeed I certainly shall not show partiality to any man, Nor shall I flatter a human. ²² For I do not know how I could flatter, Else my Maker would carry me off in little time.

⁴ For truly my declarations are not false; One flawless in knowledge is with you.

² for they will be putting you out of the synagogues; but coming is the hour that everyone who is killing you should suppose he is offering divine service to God.

⁵ Now if our injustice is commending God's righteousness, what shall we declare? Not that God Who is bringing on indignation is unjust! (As a man am I saying it.)" ⁶ May it not be coming to that! Else how shall God be judging the world? ⁷ Yet if the truth of God superabounds in my lie, for His glory, why am I also still being judged as a sinner, ⁸ and why not say, according as we are calumniated and according as some are averring that we are saying, that "We should be doing evil that good may be coming"? - whose judgment is fair."

² But we spurn the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness, nor yet adulterating the word of God, but, by manifestation of the truth, commending ourselves to every man's conscience in God's sight."

² You shall not come after the many to do evil, and you shall not respond in a contention to turn aside after the many, to turn aside judgment. ³ Neither shall you honor the poor in his contention.

¹⁵ You shall not do iniquity in judgment; you shall not lift up the face of the poor nor honor the face of the great. In righteousness shall you judge your companion.

²¹ Indeed I certainly shall not show partiality to any man, Nor shall I flatter a human.

¹⁹ Who does not repute chiefs, Nor is He partial to the rich-man above the poor,For they all are the work of His hands?

²³ These also are sayings of the wise:To be biased in judgment is never good.

⁹ And, moreover, I make you despised and low to all the people, according as you are not keeping My ways, yet you lift up faces in the law."

¹⁶ With Him are strength and prosperity; Both the erring one and the one causing error are His.

² Assuredly, captious men are all around me, And my eye lodges all night upon their bitterness.

³⁶ My will is that Job should be tested unto permanence For making replies like men of lawlessness.

²¹ Would not Elohim Himself investigate this? For He is knowing the obscured secrets of the heart.

²³ Search me out, O El, and know my heart; Test me, and know my disquieting thoughts."

²² And now, you must not be mocking, lest your bonds should hold fast, for a conclusive and decisive matter I hear from my Lord, Yahweh of hosts, which He will do over the entire land."

¹⁰ I Yahweh do search the heart, try the reins, Even to give to each according to his way, According to the fruit of his doings."

⁷ Be not decived, God is not to be sneered at, for whatsoever a man may be sowing, this shall he be reaping also, ⁸ for he who is sowing for his own flesh, from the flesh shall be reaping corruption, yet he who is sowing for the spirit, from the spirit shall be reaping life eonian."

⁷ It came to pass after Yahweh had spoken these words to Job that Yahweh said to Eliphaz the Temanite:My anger is hot against you and your two associates because you did not speak concerning Me what is rightly so as My servant Job has done. ⁸ Now take for yourselves seven bullocks and seven rams. Go to my servant Job, and offer up an ascent offering on behalf of yourselves. And Job, my servant, he shall pray for you. For then I shall lift up his face by not inflicting on you any disgrace. For you did not speak concerning Me what is rightly so as My servant Job has done.

²¹ You do these things, yet I keep silent; You imagined that I should become, yea become like you. I shall reprove you, and I will arrange the charge before your eyes." ²² Now understand this, you who are forgetting Eloah, Lest I should tear you to pieces, and there be no rescuer."

² How long shall you judge with iniquity And lift up the faces of the wicked? {Interlude{

⁹ Yet if you are showing partiality, you are working sin, being exposed by the law as transgressors."

¹⁶ Dread and awe are falling on them; by the greatness of Your arm they are still as a stone, until Your people are passing by, Yahweh, until this people whom You have acquired are passing by.

²¹ Keep Your palm far from me, And let not the dread of You frighten me.

²³ (Indeed I have an awe of calamity from El, And I am not able to stand before His dignity..

¹²⁰ My flesh bristles from awe of You, And I fear Your judgments."

¹³ Yahweh of hosts--Him shall you sanctify, and He shall be your fear, and He shall be your terror."

²² Me do you not fear, an affirmation of Yahweh? From My presence are you not pained? Who has made sand the border of the sea, A limit eonian, and it passes not over it, They shake themselves, and they are not able, Yea, sounded have its billows, and they pass not over."

¹⁰ And Yahweh [is] an Elohim of truth, He [is] a living Elohim, and a king eonian, From His wrath shake does the earth, And nations endure not His indignation."

²⁸ And do not fear those who are killing the body, yet are not able to kill the soul. Yet be fearing Him, rather, Who is able to destroy the soul as well as the body in Gehenna."

³ And they are singing the song of Moses, the slave of God, and the song of the Lambkin, saying, "Great and marvelous are Thy acts, Lord God Almighty! Just and true are Thy ways, King of the eons!" ⁴ Who may by no means be afraid of Thee, Lord, And glorify Thy name? For Thou only art benign. For all the nations shall arrive And worship before Thee, For Thy just awards were made manifest."

⁷ And forming is Yahweh Elohim the human of soil from the ground, and He is blowing into his nostrils the breath of the living, and becoming is the human a living soul.

²⁷ And answering is Abraham and saying, "Behold, pray! Disposed am I to speak to Yahweh, and I am but soil and ashes.

¹⁴ Then Yahweh said to Moses: Write this as a reminder in a scroll, and put it in the ears of Joshua that I shall wipe out, yea wipe out the remembrance of Amalek from under the heavens.

¹⁹ How much more so those who tabernacle in houses of clay, Whose foundation is in the soil? Forces crush them like a moth.

¹⁷ His remembrance perishes from the earth, And he has no name on the face of the open place.

¹⁶ The face of Yahweh is against those doing evil, To cut off their remembrance from the earth."

¹² Yet You, O Yahweh, You are dwelling for the eon, And Your Name for generation after generation."

¹⁵ Let these be in front of Yahweh continually, And let their family's remembrance be cut off from the earth,

⁷ The memory of the righteous one is a blessing, Yet the name of the wicked shall rot away."

¹⁴ The death-doomed will fail to live, and healers will fail to rise. Wherefore You wilt check over and exterminate them, and destroy every remembrance of them."

¹ For we are aware that, if our terrestrial tabernacle house should be demolished, we have a building of God, a house not made by hands, eonian, in the heavens."

⁹ That Eloah would be disposed to crush me! May He let loose His hand and clip me off! ¹⁰ Then there would still be some consolation for me, And I would caper in this travail which He is not sparing, For I have not suppressed the words of the Holy One.

¹¹ Indeed for me, I shall not keep back my mouth; I shall speak in the distress of my spirit; I shall importune in the bitterness of my soul.

¹⁵ So my soul would choose strangling; Death is desired by my bones. ¹⁶ I reject this; I would not live for the eon; Leave off from me, for my days are vanity.

¹ My soul is disgusted with my life; I shall give free rein to myself and my concern; Let me speak in the bitterness of my soul.

⁵ O that you would keep silent, yea silent, That would be wisdom for you.

³ Bear with me while I am speaking, And after I have spoken, you may deride.

³ and I see that you are not a saviour, and I put my life in my hand, and pass over unto the Bene-Ammon, and Yahweh gives them into my hand--and why have you come up unto me this day to fight against me?.

⁵ yea, he puts his life in his hand, and smites the Philistine, and Yahweh works a great salvation for all Israel; you have seen, and do rejoice, and why do you sin against innocent blood, to put David to death for nought?.

²¹ And the woman comes in unto Saul, and sees that he has been greatly troubled, and said unto him, `Lo, your maid-servant has hearkened to your voice, and I put my soul in my hand, and I obey your words which you have spoken unto me;"

⁴ O one tearing his soul to pieces in his anger, On account of you shall the earth be forsaken, And the rock be shifted from its place?

¹⁰⁹ My soul is placed in my palms continually, Yet I do not forget Your law."

⁵ The stupid man folds his hands And eats his own flesh;

²⁰ And he will sever on the right, yet is famishing, and he will eat on the left, yet is not satisfied. A man will eat the flesh of his arm."

²⁶ And I feed those tyrannizing over you with their own flesh, and as with juice, with their own blood shall they be drunk. Then all flesh shall know that I, Yahweh, am your Saviour, and your Redeemer is the Sturdy One of Jacob."

⁶ My days are fleeter than a weaver's shuttle, And they shall conclude with the limit of the weaving thread.

⁷ Although Your knowledge is that I am not wicked, And there is no one rescuing from Your hand?

¹⁸ Behold now, I have arranged a plea; I know that I shall be justified.

¹⁷ Although there is no violence in my palm, And my prayer is pure.

²¹ That He may plead between a master and Eloah, As between a son of humanity and his associate.

²⁵ Yet as for me, I know my Redeemer is living, And after this He shall arise on the soil;" ²⁶ And behind my skin I will stand erect, And from my flesh I shall perceive Eloah, ²⁷ Whom I shall perceive for myself, And my own eyes will see, Him and not an alien. My innermost being is exhausted in my bosom, ²⁸ If you are saying, How may we pursue him? And:The root of the matter is found in him,

¹⁰ But He knows the way with me; He tests me, and I shall go forth like gold.

⁵ Far be it from me should I ever justify you; Until I expire, I shall not put away my integrity from me.

³¹ If the men of my tent have never said:Who can be found who has not been satisfied with his flesh? ³² (The sojourner has not lodged in the street; I have opened my doors to the traveler), ³³ If I have covered up my transgression like Adam, By burying my depravity in my lap, ³⁴ Because I was terrified of the vast throng, And the contempt of families caused me dismay, And I kept silent and would not go forth from the portal-. ³⁵ (O that I had someone hearing me! Behold, here is my mark; may He Who Suffices answer me! Let a man write his indictment against me on a scroll;" ³⁶ Assuredly, I would bear it on my back; I would wind it as crowns about me;" ³⁷ I would tell him the tale of my steps; Like a nobleman I would approach him.)

² Will one contending with Him Who Suffices admonish Him? The one reproving Eloah, let him answer it.

⁸ Indeed, would you ever quash My judgment? Would you condemn Me that you might be just?

⁴ Even though I should walk in the ravine of blackest shadow, I shall not fear evil, For You are with me; Your club and Your staff, they are comforting me."

³² The wicked man is tripped up by his evil, Yet the righteous one takes refuge in his integrity."

³⁸ For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor messengers, nor sovereignties, nor the present, nor what is impending, nor powers, ³⁹ nor height, nor depth, nor any other creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus, our Lord."

²⁰ seeing that, if our heart should be censuring us, God is greater than our heart, and He knows all."

² Yah is my strength and my melody, and He become mine for salvation. This is my El; I shall adorn Him, Elohim of my father, I shall exalt Him.

¹³ So are the paths laid for all those forgetting El, And so the expectation of the polluted shall perish,

⁸ For what expectation can the polluted have when he is clipped off, When Eloah eases away his soul? ⁹ Shall El hearken to his cry When distress comes upon him? ¹⁰ Would he find pleasure in Him Who Suffices? Would he call to Eloah on every occasion?

¹³ As for the polluted of heart who nourish anger, Who do not implore when He binds them,

¹ {Davidic{ Yahweh is my Light and my Salvation; Whom should I fear? Yahweh is the Stronghold of my life; Of whom should I be afraid?

⁶ He only is my Rock and my Salvation, My Impregnable Retreat; I shall not slip." ⁷ On Elohim rest my salvation and my glory; The rock of my strength, my refuge is in Elohim."

¹⁴ Yah is my Strength and my Melody, And He became mine for salvation."

²¹ I am acclaiming You, for You have answered me, And You became mine for salvation."

¹ And you will say, in that day, "I am acclaiming You, Yahweh, for You wast angry with me, yet reversing is Your anger, and You are comforting me." ² Behold! El is my Salvation. I am trusting in Him and am not afraid. For my Strength and Melody is Yah, Yahweh, and He is becoming mine for salvation."

¹⁴ Afraid are the sinners in Zion, quivering holds the polluted. Who is telling you of the devouring fire? Who is telling you of the glowings eonian?

²³ Surely in vain from the heights, The multitude of mountains--Surely in Yahweh our Elohim [is] the salvation of Israel."

⁴⁷ For thus the Lord has directed us: I have appointed Thee for a light of the nations; for Thee to be for salvation as far as the limits of the earth.'"

⁶ Hear now my reproof, And to the contentions of my lips, attend.

² Hearken, yea hearken to my declaration, And let this be your consolations to me.

¹ Howbeit now, I pray, O Job, hear my declarations, And do give ear to all my words.

² Truly I know that this is so, Yet how can a mortal be righteous before El? ³ If he desires to contend with Him, He shall not answer him one time out of a thousand.

²⁰ Though I were righteous my mouth would condemn me; Though I were flawless, He would declare me perverse.

⁴ I would arrange a plea before Him And fill my mouth with pleadings.

⁷ Belt up your loins then like a master; I shall ask of you, and you inform Me. ⁸ Indeed, would you ever quash My judgment? Would you condemn Me that you might be just?

²⁶ Remind Me, and We will be judged together. Relate your lawlessness first, that you may be just."

³³ Who will be indicting God's chosen ones? God, the Justifier? ³⁴ Who is the Condemner? Christ Jesus, the One dying, yet rather being roused, Who is also at God's right hand, Who is pleading also for our sakes?

¹² For our boasting is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in holiness and sincerity of God, not in fleshly wisdom, but in the grace of God, we behaved ourselves in the world, yet more superabundantly toward you."

⁸ Your hands shaped me and made me; Yet afterward You swallow me up round about.

⁵ If truly you would magnify yourselves over me And plead against me my reproach,

⁵ Reply to me if you can; Do arrange yourself and stand up before me; ⁶ Behold, I am corresponding to you before El; I myself also was nipped off from the clay. ⁷ Behold, no dread of me should frighten you, And my palm shall not lie heavy on you.

³² If there are declarations reply to me; Speak, for I would delight to justify you.

⁷ And my Lord Yahweh is helping me. Therefore, I am not confounded. Therefore I set my face as a flint, and know that I shall not be shamed." ⁸ Near is my Justifier. Who will contend with me? We will stand together. Who possesses my judgment? He shall come close to me.

⁹ And I said, `I do not mention Him, Nor do I speak any more in His name,' And it has been in my heart As a burning fire shut up in my bones, And I have been weary of containing, And I am not able."

³³ Who will be indicting God's chosen ones? God, the Justifier?

⁸ And hearing are they the sound of Yahweh Elohim walking in the garden in the windy part of the day. And hiding themselves are the human and his wife from the face of Yahweh Elohim, in the midst of a tree of the garden." ⁹ And calling is Yahweh Elohim to the human, and He is saying to him, "Adam! Where are you? ¹⁰ And saying is he to Him, "The sound of You walking hear I in the garden, and fearful am I, for naked am I, and I am hiding.

¹² Even darkness, it is not darkening to You, And the night, as the day, is giving light; Darkness is as light."

¹⁵ And the kings of the earth, and the magnates, and the captains, and the rich, and the strong, and every slave and freeman, hide themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains." ¹⁶ And they are saying to the mountains and to the rocks, "Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him Who is sitting on the throne, and from the indignation of the Lambkin,

³⁴ Let Him withdraw His club from me, And let not the dread of Him frighten me.

²⁰ Are not the days of my transient lifetime few? Set away from me that I may smile a little,

¹¹ Will His majestic bearing not frighten you, And the awe of Him fall upon you?

¹⁵ Are you keeping the path of the eon of old That the men of lawlessness tread, ¹⁶ Who were arrested when not yet their time, When a stream was poured over their foundation, ¹⁷ Who were saying to El, Withdraw from us, And, What can He Who Suffices effect for us?

⁷ Behold, no dread of me should frighten you, And my palm shall not lie heavy on you.

¹⁰ Withdraw Your touch from me; I am exhausted from the stirring up of Your hand.

¹⁶ If I call out, and He should answer me, I could not believe that He is giving ear to my voice.

³² For He is not a man like me that I should assert to Him:Let us come together for judgment.

¹⁵ You shall call, and I shall answer You; You shall long for the work of Your hands.

³ Belt up your loins now like a master; I shall ask of you, and you inform Me.

⁵ Is it not because your evil is great, And there is no end to your depravities?

⁸ But if being bound with manacles, They are seized by the cord lines of humiliation, ⁹ Then He is telling them of their deeds And their transgressions, that they are making themselves arrogantly masterful.

²⁰ If we had forgotten the Name of our Elohim And spread out our palms to an alien el, ²¹ Would not Elohim Himself investigate this? For He is knowing the obscured secrets of the heart.

²⁰ And he said:Let Me conceal My face from them; I shall examine what their latter days are to be. For they are a wayward generation, sons with no faithfulness in them.

¹⁶ And Samuel said, `And why do you ask me, and Yahweh has turned aside from you, and is your enemy?

² I shall say to Eloah, O do not condemn me! Let me know for what reason You contend with me!"

⁹ His anger has found a prey and assailed me; He gnashes at me with His teeth. My foe hones his eyes against me.

¹¹ He heats up His anger against me, And to Himself He reckons me as one of His foes.

² O that I were as in former months, As in the days when He, Eloah was guarding me, ³ When He caused His lamp to irradiate over my head, And by His light I went through the darkness,

²¹ You are turned to be cruel to me; With the staunchness of Your hand, You assail me.

¹⁰ Behold, He finds reasons to repudiate me And reckons me as an enemy to Him;"

¹ Why are You standing far off, O Yahweh? Why are You obscuring Yourself in seasons of distress?

¹ {A Davidic Psalm{ How long, O Yahweh? Shall You forget me permanently? How long shall You conceal Your face from me?

²⁴ Why are You concealing Your face? Are You forgetting our humiliation and our oppression?

⁶ Let me remember my soliloquy in the night; Let me meditate with my heart. So my spirit searched, saying, ⁷ Shall Yahweh cast off for the eons, And shall He not continue to be benevolent any more? ⁸ Has His benignity reached its limit permanently? Has the promise reached an end for generation after generation? ⁹ Has El forgotten to be gracious? Or has He shut off His compassions in anger? {Interlude{

¹⁴ Why, O Yahweh, are You casting off my soul And concealing Your face from me?

¹⁷ I also tarry for Yahweh, the Concealer of His face from the house of Jacob, and my expectation is toward Him."

⁵ Yahweh has become like an enemy; He has swallowed up Israel; He has swallowed up all her citadels; He has ruined its fortresses; And He is multiplying, in the daughter of Judah, complaint and complaining."

¹⁵ and do not deem him as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother."

³⁶ As for the remainder among you, I will also bring timidity into their heart in the lands of their enemies so that the sound of a leaf being whisked away will pursue them, and they will flee as if in flight from the sword; they will fall even when there is no one pursuing.

¹⁴ `After whom has the king of Israel come out? after whom are you pursuing? --after a dead dog! after one flea!

³ Indeed, it is on one like this that You focus Your eyes, And You bring me into judgment before You.

¹⁸ Do they become like crushed straw before the wind, Or like trash that the sweeping whirlwind steals away?

¹³ The folkstems shall be tumulted as the tumult of many waters, yet He rebukes them, and they flee far off, and they will be pursued as the trash of the winnowers before the wind, and as a tumbleweed before a sweeping whirlwind."

²⁰ A reed that is bruised He will not be fracturing. And flax that is smouldering He will not be extinguishing...Till He should ever be casting out judging for victory.

²⁰ She replied to them, You must not call me Naomi. Call me Mara, for He Who-Suffices has brought intense bitterness on me.

²⁰ Why is He giving light to the miserable, And life to the bitter of sou.

¹¹ His bones were filled by his adolescence, Yet that gain shall lie with him in the soil.

⁷ Do not remember the sins of my youth and my transgressions; According to Your benignity, remember me, I pray You, On account of Your goodness, O Yahweh."

³ For my soul is surfeited with perils, And my life touches close to the unseen." ⁴ I am reckoned with descenders to the crypt; I become like a master who is without stamina, ⁵ With the dead set free, Like the slain who lie in a burying ground, Whom You do not remember any more, For they are severed from Your hand." ⁶ You have set me down in the nether crypt, In utter darkness, in shadowy depths;" ⁷ Your fury bears down upon me, And You humble me with all Your breakers. {Interlude{ " ⁸ You have taken my close acquaintances far from me; You have set me down as abhorrent to them; Being shut up, I cannot go forth." ⁹ My eye, it pines away with humiliation; I call on You, O Yahweh, throughout every day; I spread out my palms to You." ¹⁰ Would You perform marvelous works for the dead? Or do Rephaim arise and acclaim You? {Interlude{ ¹¹ Is Your benignity recounted in the tomb, Your faithfulness in destruction? ¹² Are Your marvelous works known in darkness, And Your righteousness in the land of oblivion? ¹³ As for me, I implore You, O Yahweh; In the morning, my prayer goes out before You." ¹⁴ Why, O Yahweh, are You casting off my soul And concealing Your face from me? ¹⁵ From my youth have I been humbled and wearied unto death; I have borne the dread of You; I am distracted. ¹⁶ Your hot anger has passed upon me; Your frightenings have effaced me. ¹⁷ They surround me like waters the entire day; They encompass about me altogether. ¹⁸ You have taken far from me loved one and associate; My close acquaintances are darkness to me.

¹¹ And you have anguish in your latter days When your flesh and your brawn are exhausted, ¹² And you say, How I have hated discipline, And my heart has spurned correction!" ¹³ I have not hearkened to the voice of those directing my instruction, And to those teaching me I have not stretched out my ear;"

¹⁹ For after my turning back I repented, And after my being instructed I struck on the thigh, I have been ashamed, I have also blushed, For I have borne the reproach of my youth."

⁵ Now a certain man was there having been in his infirmity thirty-eight years.

¹⁴ After these things Jesus is finding him in the sanctuary, and said to him, "Lo! you have become sound. By no means longer be sinning, lest something worse may be coming to you."

¹⁰ And Asa is angry at the seer, and gives him to the house of torture, for [he is] in a rage with him for this; and Asa oppresses [some] of the people at that time. ¹¹ And lo, the matters of Asa, the first and the last, lo, they are written on the book of the kings of Judah and Israel. ¹² And Asa is diseased--in the thirty and ninth year of his reign--in his feet, till his disease is excessive, and also in his disease he has not sought Yahweh, but among physicians.

⁷ Then Satan went forth from Yahweh's presence, and he smote Job with evil boils from the sole of his feet unto his scalp.

⁶ That You should seek out my depravity And should inquire into my sin,

¹⁶ Even if You are now numbering my steps, You shall then no longer observe my sin,

¹¹ He places my feet in stocks; He observes all my paths.

²² Suddenly he was going after her, Like a bull that comes to the slaughter, Like a calf to the bonds of foolish creatures,

²⁴ who, getting such a charge, casts them into the interior jail, and secures their feet in the stocks."

¹² Oh do not let her be as the dead child of which, when it comes forth from the womb of its mother, half its flesh is devoured.

¹⁷ The night picks at my bones all over me, And my gnawing pains never lie still. ¹⁸ With His great vigor He grasps my clothing; He belts me up like the slit of my tunic. ¹⁹ He has shot me down into the clay, So that I am made comparable to soil and ashes.

²⁹ I have become a brother to wild jackals, And an associate to the ostrich. ³⁰ My skin, it blackens and falls from me, And my bones burn hot as in a drought.

¹¹ You have disciplined man with corrections for depravity, And what he has coveted, You are melting away like a moth. Yea, all of humanity is a transitory breath. {Interlude{ "

¹² And I will be as a moth to Ephraim, and as rottenness to the house of Judah."
