¹ So these three men ceased from answering Job, for he was righteous in his own eyes. ² Yet the anger of Elihu son of Barachel the Buzite, from the family of Ram, grew hot. His anger burned hot against Job because he justified his own soul rather than Elohim. ³ And his anger burned hot against his three associates because they had not found an answer, and so they condemned Elohim. ⁴ As for Elihu, he had tarried while they spoke to Job, for they were older than he in days. ⁵ When Elihu saw that there was no further answer in the mouths of the three men, his anger grew even hotter. ⁶ So Elihu son of Barachel the Buzite answered and said:I am junior to you in days, and you are hoary headed; Therefore I shrank back and was fearful From disclosing my knowledge to you. ⁷ I said to myself, Let days speak, And many years make wisdom known. ⁸ But surely it is the spirit in a mortal, And the breath of Him Who Suffices that gives them understanding. ⁹ Seniors may not be wise Or elders understand judgment. ¹⁰ Wherefore I say, Do hear me; I shall disclose my knowledge, I also. ¹¹ Behold, I waited for your words; I listened for your understanding While you were sounding out declarations. ¹² I gave consideration to you, Yet behold, there was no correcting of Job Or answer to his arguments from you. ¹³ Beware lest you say, We have found wisdom; El Himself is our Mentor, not man. ¹⁴ Hence I shall not array such declarations as these. But not with your arguments shall I reply to him. ¹⁵ They are dismayed; they do not answer further; They shift declarations away from them. ¹⁶ I have waited, but since they are not speaking, Since they stand and do not answer further, ¹⁷ I shall answer, I also, with my portion; I shall disclose my knowledge, I also. ¹⁸ For I am full of declarations; The spirit of my belly constrains me. ¹⁹ Behold, my belly is like wine that is not opened, Like new wineskins, it is ready to split. ²⁰ Let me speak so that it can ventilate me; I must open my lips and answer. ²¹ Indeed I certainly shall not show partiality to any man, Nor shall I flatter a human. ²² For I do not know how I could flatter, Else my Maker would carry me off in little time.

²⁹ Relent, I pray; let it not become iniquity, And relent further; my righteousness is at stake in it.

² I shall say to Eloah, O do not condemn me! Let me know for what reason You contend with me!"

⁷ Although Your knowledge is that I am not wicked, And there is no one rescuing from Your hand?

¹⁵ Behold, He may despatch me, yet I shall wait for Him; Yea, I shall plead my ways before His face.

⁷ There an upright man would plead with Him; Let me win deliverance permanently from my Judge.

⁴ My lips shall assuredly not speak iniquity, And my tongue, it shall assuredly not soliloquize deceit. ⁵ Far be it from me should I ever justify you; Until I expire, I shall not put away my integrity from me. ⁶ I will hold fast to my righteousness, and I shall not relax; My heart shall never reproach me throughout my days.

¹¹ When the ear heard, it called me happy, And when the eye saw, it testified in my favor. ¹² For I made a way of escape for the humble who implored, And the orphan and him who had no helper. ¹³ The blessing of the one perishing came on me, And I caused the heart of the widow to jubilate. ¹⁴ I put on righteousness, and it clothed me; My right judgment was as a robe and a turban. ¹⁵ I became eyes to the blind, And feet to the lame was I. ¹⁶ I was father to the needy ones, And the contention of him I knew not, I would investigate it. ¹⁷ I would break the fangs of the iniquitous And would fling the prey from his teeth.

¹ I contracted a covenant with my eyes So how should I wrongly consider a virgin? ² Yet what is the portion of Eloah from above, And the allotment of Him Who Suffices from the heights? ³ Should not calamity be for the iniquitous, And disaster for contrivers of lawlessness? ⁴ Does He not see my ways And number all my steps? ⁵ If I have walked with hypocrisy, And my foot has hurried after decei. ⁶ (Let Him weigh me in the scales of justice, And let Eloah know my integrity), ⁷ If my movements have turned aside from the way, And my heart has run after what my eyes see, And any blemish clings to my palms, ⁸ Then let me sow and another eat, And may my offspring be rooted out. ⁹ If my heart has been enticed by another's wife, Or I have waited in ambush at my associate's portal, ¹⁰ May my wife grind grain for another, And may others crouch down upon her. ¹¹ For that would be a crime, And that would be depravity calling for judiciary mediators. ¹² For that would be a fire that devours unto Abaddon And roots out all my yield. ¹³ If I have rejected the plea of my servant and my maidservant When they have brought a contention against me, ¹⁴ Then what shall I do when El arises, And when He visits, what shall I reply to Him? ¹⁵ Did not He Who made me in the belly make him also, So that the same One prepared us both in the womb? ¹⁶ If I have withheld the desire of the poor And have caused the eyes of the widow to fail, ¹⁷ And I have eaten my morsel by myself alone, So that the orphan could not eat of i. ¹⁸ (Indeed from my youth he grew great as with a father, And from the belly of my mother I have guided her), ¹⁹ If I have seen anyone perishing from lack of clothing, And there was no covering for the needy, ²⁰ If his loins did not bless me, Since he was warmed with the fleece of my lambs, ²¹ If I have waved my hand against the orphan Because I saw my backing was in the gate, ²² Then may my shoulder fall from the shoulder blade, And may my arm be broken from the clavicle. ²³ (Indeed I have an awe of calamity from El, And I am not able to stand before His dignity.. ²⁴ If I have made gold my confidence, And I have said to pure gold:My trust, ²⁵ If I have rejoiced that my estate is vast And that my hand has found abundance, ²⁶ If I have seen the sunlight when it irradiates, And the moon advancing like a precious gem, ²⁷ So that my heart was enticed in secret, And my hand kissed my mouth, ²⁸ This also would be depravity calling for judiciary mediation, For I then would have disavowed El above. ²⁹ If I have rejoiced in the misfortune of the one hating me, And I have roused myself in joy because evil had overtaken hi. ³⁰ (Yet I have not allowed my mouth to sin By asking with an imprecation against his soul), ³¹ If the men of my tent have never said:Who can be found who has not been satisfied with his flesh? ³² (The sojourner has not lodged in the street; I have opened my doors to the traveler), ³³ If I have covered up my transgression like Adam, By burying my depravity in my lap, ³⁴ Because I was terrified of the vast throng, And the contempt of families caused me dismay, And I kept silent and would not go forth from the portal-. ³⁵ (O that I had someone hearing me! Behold, here is my mark; may He Who Suffices answer me! Let a man write his indictment against me on a scroll;" ³⁶ Assuredly, I would bear it on my back; I would wind it as crowns about me;" ³⁷ I would tell him the tale of my steps; Like a nobleman I would approach him.) ³⁸ If my ground has cried out against me, And its furrows have wept together with it, ³⁹ If I have eaten of its vigor without paying silver, So that I have caused the soul of its possessor to expire, ⁴⁰ Then may the thistle come forth instead of wheat, And nightshade instead of barley! The words of Job are finished.

⁹ I am pure, without transgression; I am unstained, and no depravity is in me;"

²¹ Uz, his firstborn, and Buz, his brother, and Kemuel, the father of Aram,

³ Is it good to You that You should work harm, That You should reject the labor of Your palms, And that You shine on the counsel of the wicked?

² As El lives, Who has taken away judgment for me, He Who Suffices, Who has brought bitterness on my soul,

⁵ Far be it from me should I ever justify you; Until I expire, I shall not put away my integrity from me.

²¹ You are turned to be cruel to me; With the staunchness of Your hand, You assail me.

⁵ For Job has said:I am just, Yet El, He has taken away my due;" ⁶ Concerning my due, should I lie? My lesion is mortal, yet I am without transgression.

¹⁷ Indeed, can anyone hating judgment govern? And would you condemn the Abundantly Righteous One, ¹⁸ Who says to a king, Worthless one, And to patrons, Wicked one,

² Is this what you reckon as right judgment? Do you say, This is my righteousness before El,

⁸ Indeed, would you ever quash My judgment? Would you condemn Me that you might be just?

⁹ For the zeal of Your House, it devours me, And the reproaches of those reproaching You, they fall on me."

⁵ And looking about on them with indignation, commiserating the callousness of their hearts, He is saying to the man, "Stretch out your hand.And he stretches it out, and his hand was restored."

²⁹ Yet he, wanting to justify himself, said to Jesus, "And who is my associate?

²⁶ Are you indignant, and not sinning? Do not let the sun be sinking on your vexation,

⁶ If you are purged and upright, Even now He would rouse Himself over you, And He would bring peace to your righteous homestead.

³⁴ For the congregation of the polluted is stark, And fire devours the tents of bribery.

⁵ Is it not because your evil is great, And there is no end to your depravities? ⁶ For you have taken pledge from your brothers gratuitously, And you have stripped the garments of the naked. ⁷ No water have you given the faint to drink, And from the hungry have you withheld bread. ⁸ The man of the arm of power, he has the land, And he of repute is dwelling in it. ⁹ Widows you have sent away empty, And the arms of orphans you have crushed. ¹⁰ Therefore, snares are round about you, And sudden alarm fills you with panic;" ¹¹ Light has become darkness so you cannot see, And a concourse of water is covering you. ¹² Is not Eloah in the loftiness of the heavens? See the topmost stars, how high they are. ¹³ Yet you say, What does El know? Can He judge through murkiness? ¹⁴ Thick clouds are a concealment for Him, so that He cannot see, And He walks about the circle of the heavens. ¹⁵ Are you keeping the path of the eon of old That the men of lawlessness tread, ¹⁶ Who were arrested when not yet their time, When a stream was poured over their foundation, ¹⁷ Who were saying to El, Withdraw from us, And, What can He Who Suffices effect for us? ¹⁸ Yet He Himself had filled their houses with good; (Still the counsel of the wicked is far from me.) ¹⁹ The righteous see it and rejoice, And the innocent one derides them, saying. ²⁰ Assuredly whoever rose against us is suppressed, And fire has devoured their surplus. ²¹ Be careful, I pray, toward Him, and fare well, By these means good shall come to you. ²² Take hold, I pray, to the law from His mouth, And place His sayings in your heart. ²³ If you return unto Him Who Suffices and you submit, If you put iniquity far from your ten. ²⁴ And set aside your gold ore upon the soil, And wealth of Ophir among the rocks of the watercourses, ²⁵ Then He Who Suffices will become your gold ore And refined silver for you. ²⁶ For then you shall find pleasure for yourself in Him Who Suffices, And you shall lift your face to Eloah. ²⁷ You shall entreat Him, and He shall hear you, And you shall pay your vows. ²⁸ When you prescribe a matter, it shall be confirmed to you, And light will brighten your ways. ²⁹ When they abase, then you may claim pride, For He shall save the downcast of eyes. ³⁰ He shall give escape to the innocent man, And you shall escape by the purity of your palms.

²⁵ But if not so, indeed who can prove me a liar Or establish my declaration as nothing?

² Dominion and awesome might are with Him, Who is establishing peace in His heights. ³ Is it possible to number His regiments, And on whom does His light not rise? ⁴ How then can a mortal be righteous before El, And how can one born of woman be pure? ⁵ If even the moon does not irradiate, And the stars, they are not pure in His eyes, ⁶ How much less a mortal, that maggot, And a son of humanity, that worm.

² How you have helped one without vigor And saved an arm without strength! ³ How you have counseled one without wisdom, And the reality of things you have abundantly made known!" ⁴ For whom have you told these declarations, And whose breath has come forth from you?

¹ So these three men ceased from answering Job, for he was righteous in his own eyes.

⁵ For, finding this man a pestilence and stirrer of insurrections among all the Jews who are on the inhabited earth, besides a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes,

¹³ nor can they present evidence to you for that concerning which they are now accusing me.

¹¹ Behold, I waited for your words; I listened for your understanding While you were sounding out declarations. ¹² I gave consideration to you, Yet behold, there was no correcting of Job Or answer to his arguments from you.

¹³ He who replies with speech ere he has heard, It is folly to him and confounding."

¹⁹ And it came to be just as he drew near to the camp and saw the calf and the choruses that Moses' anger grew hot, and he flung from his hands the tablets and broke them below the mountain.

³² In the presence of the greyhaired shall you rise and honor the face of the old. You will fear your Elohim:I am Yahweh.

²⁸ And Eliab, his eldest brother, hears when he speaks unto the men, and the anger of Eliab burns against David, and he said, `Why [is] this--you have come down! and to whom have you left those few sheep in the wilderness? I have known your pride, and the evil of your heart--for, to see the battle you have come down.. <sup>29</sup> And David said, `What have I done now? is it not a word?. ³⁰ And he turns round from him unto another, and said according to this word, and the people return him word as the first word.

⁷ Are you the first human ever born? Were you travailed before the hills?

¹⁰ Moreover, among us are the greyhaired and hoary-headed, More abundant in days than your father.

⁷ Render to all their dues, to whom tax, tax, to whom tribute, tribute, to whom fear, fear, to whom honor, honor."

¹ An elderly man you should not be upbraiding, but be entreating him as a father, the younger men as brethren,

⁶ The younger men, similarly, entreat to be sane as to all things,

⁵ Likewise, younger men may be subject to the elder, yet all wear the servile apron of humility with one another, for God "is resisting the proud, yet is giving grace to the humble."

⁶ And king Rehoboam consults with the elders who have been standing in the presence of Solomon his father, in his being alive, saying, `How are you counselling to answer this people?. <sup>7</sup> And they speak unto him, saying, `If, to-day, you are servant to this people, and have served them, and answered them, and spoken unto them good words, then they have been to you servants all the days.. ⁸ And he forsakes the counsel of the elders which they counselled him, and consults with the lads who have grown up with him, who are standing before him;"

⁸ For ask, I pray, of the former generation, And establish yourself in the investigations of their fathers. ⁹ For we are of yesterday, and we know nothing, For our days on the earth are but a shadow. ¹⁰ Shall they not direct you, apprise you And bring forth declarations from their heart?

¹² Does wisdom come with being hoary-headed, And understanding with length of days?

¹¹ Come my sons; hearken to me! I shall teach you the devout fear of Yahweh. ¹² Who is the man whose delight is life, Loving sufficient days in order to see good?

¹ The proverbs of Solomon son of David, king of Israel:" ² To know wisdom and discipline, To comprehend sayings of understanding, ³ To procure the discipline to act intelligently In justice and judgment and equities, ⁴ To give to the simple, prudence, To youth, knowledge and foresight--"

³¹ Grey hair is a crown of beauty; It is found in the way of righteousness.

¹² For when also, because of the time, you ought to be teachers, you have need again of one to teach you what are the rudimentary elements of the oracles of God, and you have come to have need of milk, and not of solid nourishment."

³⁹ And saying is Pharaoh to Joseph, "After the Elohim has made known to you all this, there is no one as understanding and wise as you.

¹² lo, I have done according to your words; lo, I have given to you a heart, wise and understanding, that like you there has not been before you, and after you there does not arise like you;"

²⁸ And all Israel hear of the judgment that the king has judged, and fear because of the king, for they have seen that the wisdom of Elohim [is] in his heart, to do judgment.

²⁹ And Elohim gives wisdom to Solomon, and understanding, very much, and breadth of heart, as the sand that [is] on the edge of the sea;"

¹² Now a word was brought stealthily to me, And my ear took hold of a little buzz of it. ¹³ In disquieting thoughts from visions of the night, In that stupor which falls on mortals, ¹⁴ Alarm befell me and quivering, And it made the multitude of my bones afraid. ¹⁵ Then a spirit passed on before my face; The hair of my flesh bristled. ¹⁶ Something stood there, yet I could not recognize its appearance; A representation was in front of my eyes; It was still, and I heard a voice. ¹⁷ Is a mortal more righteous than Eloah? Or is a master more pure than His Maker? ¹⁸ Behold, if He places no faith in His servants, And He charges His messengers with impropriety, ¹⁹ How much more so those who tabernacle in houses of clay, Whose foundation is in the soil? Forces crush them like a moth. ²⁰ From morning to evening they are being pounded; Without being regarded, they perish permanently. ²¹ Has not their tent-cord been lugged out from them? They die, but not with wisdom.

⁴ The spirit of El, it has made me, And the breath of Him Who Suffices, it preserves me alive.

¹⁶ Then He reveals matters to the ear of men, And He dismays them with admonitions,

¹¹ Training us by the beasts of the earth, And by the flier of the heavens, He makes us wise?

³⁶ Who has set wisdom in the hidden parts? Or who has given understanding to the mind?

⁶ For Yahweh Himself gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and comprehension;

²⁶ For to the man who is good before Him, He gives wisdom and knowledge and rejoicing; Yet to the sinner He gives the experience of gathering and of collecting wealth, To give it to one who is good before the One, Elohim; This too is vanity and a grazing on wind."

¹⁷ To these boys, the four of them, Elohim gives knowledge and intelligence in every script, as well as wisdom; in addition Daniel is given understanding in every vision and in dreams."

²¹ He is altering the eras and the stated times, causing kings to pass away and causing kings to rise, granting wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those knowing understanding."

¹⁰ Yet to us God reveals them through His spirit, for the spirit is searching all, even the depths of God." ¹¹ For is any of humanity acquainted with that which is human except the spirit of humanity which is in it? Thus also, that which is of God no one knows, except the spirit of God." ¹² Now we obtained, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God, that we may be perceiving that which is being graciously given to us by God,

⁸ For to one, indeed, through the spirit, is being given the word of wisdom, yet to another the word of knowledge, according to the same spirit"

¹⁶ All scripture is inspired by God, and is beneficial for teaching, for exposure, for correction, for discipline in righteousness,

⁵ Now if anyone of you is lacking wisdom, let him be requesting it from God, Who is giving to all generously and is not reproaching, and it shall be given to him."

²⁰ Putting away the eloquence of the sure, He also takes away the discretion of elders.

¹³ Better a boy, provident and wise, Than a king, old and stupid, who does not know how to take warning any more."

⁵ I get me to the great, and I speak with them, For they have known the way of Yahweh, The judgment of their Elohim.' Surely they together have broken the yoke, They have drawn away the bands."

²⁵ At that season, answering, Jesus said, "I am acclaiming Thee, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for Thou hidest these things from the wise and intelligent and Thou dost reveal them to minors."

⁴⁸ Not any of the chiefs believes in him, or of the Pharisees."

²⁶ For you are observing your calling, brethren, that there are not many wise according to the flesh; not many powerful, not many noble, ²⁷ but the stupidity of the world God chooses, that He may be disgracing the wise, and the weakness of the world God chooses, that He may be disgracing the strong,

⁷ but we are speaking God's wisdom in a secret, wisdom which has been concealed, which God designates before - before the eons, for our glory, ⁸ which not one of the chief men of this eon knows, for if they know, they would not crucify the Lord of glory."

⁶ Yet you dishonor the poor one. Are not the rich tyrannizing over you? And they are drawing you to tribunals. ⁷ Are not they blaspheming the ideal name which is being invoked over you?

²⁵ Now concerning the celibates or virgins, I have no injunction of the Lord. Yet an opinion am I giving, as one who has enjoyed mercy by the Lord to be faithful."

⁴⁰ Yet happier is she if ever she should be remaining thus, according to my opinion. Now I presume that I also have God's spirit."

²⁷ Behold this, we have investigated it; it is so; Do hear it; and you, get to know it for yourself.

²¹ Noblemen hearkened to me, and they waited; They would remain silent for my counsel.

²³ They waited for me as for rain, And they gaped with their mouth as for the latter rain.

⁴ As for Elihu, he had tarried while they spoke to Job, for they were older than he in days.

¹⁷ The first pleader seems right in his contention Until his associate comes and investigates him.

¹¹ A rich man may be wise in his own eyes, Yet an understanding poor man shall investigate him."

⁹ Yet furthermore, because the Assembler was wise, He still taught the people knowledge, And he listened and investigated And set in order many proverbs." ¹⁰ The Assembler sought to find words of delight, And what was written is uprightness and words of truth."

³ And his anger burned hot against his three associates because they had not found an answer, and so they condemned Elohim.

⁷ wanting to be teachers of the law, not apprehending either what they are saying, or that concerning which they are insisting."

²³ If it be more than a thread or even a sandal lacing, or if taking am I from anything which is yours, then will you not say, `I enrich Abram'?

² And Yahweh said unto Gideon, `Too many [are] the people who [are] with you for My giving Midian into their hand, lest Israel beautify itself against Me, saying, My hand has given salvation to me;"

²¹ And he said, Naked I came forth from the belly of my mother, and naked I shall return there. Yahweh, He gives, and Yahweh, He takes away. Blessed be the name of Yahweh.

¹⁰ Yet he said to her, Like the speech of some decadent woman are you speaking. Indeed should we receive good from the One, Elohim, and should we not receive evil? In all this, Job did not sin with his lips.

⁹ By the breath of Eloah are they perishing, And by the spirit of His nostrils are they being finished.

⁴ For the arrows of Him Who Suffices are in me; Their venom is what my spirit has been drinking; Frightenings from Eloah are arrayed against me.

² Truly, you are the people, And with you wisdom shall die!"

⁸ Do you hear the deliberation of Eloah, Or do you hold a monopoly for yourself on wisdom? ⁹ What do you know that we do not know, Or understand, and it is not with us? ¹⁰ Moreover, among us are the greyhaired and hoary-headed, More abundant in days than your father.

⁶ Know indeed that Eloah Himself has overturned me, And He has entrapped me with His weir.

²¹ Be gracious to me! be gracious to me, you, my associates! For the hand of Eloah has touched me.

²¹ Woe to those wise in their own eyes, and in front of their own face have understanding!"

⁵ Yet I was telling it to you hitherto; ere it is coming, I announced it to you, lest you should say, `My grief fetish did them. And my carving and my molten image instructs them.'"

⁷ Now are they created, yet not hitherto. Yet before their day, then you did not hear them, lest you should say, `Behold! I knew them.'"

²³ Thus said Yahweh:Let not the wise boast himself in his wisdom, Nor let the mighty boast himself in his might, Let not the rich boast himself in his riches,

³ Lo, you [are] wiser than Daniel, No hidden thing have they concealed from you."

⁷ And Yahweh will save the tents of Judah as at first, that the beauty of the house of David, and the beauty of the dwellers of Jerusalem may not be magnified over Judah."

¹¹ Jesus answered him, "No authority have you against Me in anything, except it were given to you from above. Therefore he who is giving Me up to you has the greater sin."

¹⁹ For it is written, I shall be destroying the wisdom of the wise, and the understanding of the intelligent shall I be repudiating." ²⁰ Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the discusser of this eon? Does not God make stupid the wisdom of this world? ²¹ For since, in fact, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom knew not God, God delights, through the stupidity of the heralding, to save those who are believing,

²⁷ but the stupidity of the world God chooses, that He may be disgracing the wise, and the weakness of the world God chooses, that He may be disgracing the strong, ²⁸ and the ignoble and the contemptible things of the world God chooses, and that which is not, that He may be discarding that which is, ²⁹ so that no flesh at all should be boasting in God's sight.

¹⁸ Let no one be deluding himself. If anyone among you is presuming to be wise in this eon, let him become stupid, that he may be becoming wise,

²⁴ Direct me, and I shall keep silent, And where I have erred, make me understand. ²⁵ How savory are words of uprightness, Yet how can correction from you be correcting?

²² After my speech they would not alter it, And my declaration dropped firmly on them.

²³ And then shall I be avowing to them that 'I never knew you! Depart from Me, workers of lawlessness!'"

²² And, hearing it, they marvel, and, leaving Him, they come away."

²⁶ Likewise the second also, and the third, till the seven."

³⁴ Now the Pharisees, hearing that He muzzles the Sadducees, were gathered at the same place."

⁴⁶ And no one was able to answer Him a word, neither dares anyone, from that day, inquire of Him any longer."

⁵ O that you would keep silent, yea silent, That would be wisdom for you.

²⁸ Even a fool who keeps silence is reckoned wise; He who closes up his lips has understanding.

¹³ Wherefore, the intelligent in that season will be still, for it is an evil season."

¹⁹ Now you are aware, my beloved brethren! Yet let every man be swift to hear, tardy to speak, tardy to anger,

¹⁰ Wherefore I say, Do hear me; I shall disclose my knowledge, I also.

¹² Behold, I am answering you:In this you are not justified, For Eloah is greater than a mortal.

³ When you ask, How is it profitable to me? What more do I benefit than if I had sinned? ⁴ I myself shall reply to you with declarations, And to your associates with you.

³ My heart kindled warm within me; A fire consumed in my soliloquy; I spoke with my tongue:

⁹ And I said, `I do not mention Him, Nor do I speak any more in His name,' And it has been in my heart As a burning fire shut up in my bones, And I have been weary of containing, And I am not able."

¹⁴ And a spirit has lifted me up, and does take me away, and I go bitterly, in the heat of my spirit, and the hand of Yahweh on me [is] strong." ¹⁵ And I come in unto the Removed, at Tel-Ahib, who are dwelling at the river Chebar, and where they are dwelling I also dwell seven days, causing astonishment in their midst." ¹⁶ And it comes to pass, at the end of seven days, ¹⁷ that there is a word of Yahweh unto me, saying, `Son of man, a watchman I have given you to the house of Israel, and you have heard from My mouth a word, and have warned them from Me." <sup>18</sup> In My saying to the wicked:You do surely die; and you have not warned him, nor have spoken to warn the wicked from his wicked way, so that he does live; he--the wicked--in his iniquity dies, and his blood from your hand I require." <sup>19</sup> And you, because you have warned the wicked, and he has not turned back from his wickedness, and from his wicked way, he in his iniquity dies, and you your soul have delivered." <sup>20</sup> `And in the turning back of the righteous from his righteousness, and he has done perversity, and I have put a stumbling-block before him, he dies; because you have not warned him, in his sin he dies, and not remembered is his righteousness that he has done, and his blood from your hand I require." ²¹ And you, because you have warned him--the righteous--that the righteous sin not, and he has not sinned, he surely lives, because he has been warned; and you your soul have delivered.'" ²² And there is on me there a hand of Yahweh, and He said to me, `Rise, go forth to the valley, and there I do speak with you.'" <sup>23</sup> And I rise and go forth unto the valley, and lo, there the honor of Yahweh is standing as the honor that I had seen by the river Chebar, and I fall on my face." <sup>24</sup> And come into me does a spirit, and causes me to stand on my feet, and He speaks with me, and said unto me, `Go in, be shut up in the midst of your house." ²⁵ `And you, son of man, lo, they have put on you thick bands, and have bound you with them, and you go not forth in their midst;" ²⁶ and your tongue I cause to cleave unto your palate, and you have been dumb, and are not to them for a reprover, for a rebellious house [are] they." ²⁷ And in My speaking with you, I do open your mouth, and you have said unto them:Thus said the Lord Yahweh; the hearer does hear, and the forbearer does forbear; for a rebellious house [are] they."

²⁰ for we can not but be speaking of what we perceive and hear."

¹³ For, whether we were beside ourselves, it is to God, whether we are sane, it is to you." ¹⁴ For the love of Christ is constraining us, judging this, that, if One died for the sake of all, consequently all died."

¹⁷ Neither are they draining fresh wine into old wine skins; otherwise, surely the wine skins are bursting, and the wine is spilling, and the wine skins perish. But they are draining fresh wine into new wine skins, and both are preserved."

¹³ Keep silent me, and let me speak, And whatever comes shall pass upon me.

¹⁹ Who is he who shall contend with me? For I would then keep silent and expire.

² Therefore my disquieting thoughts are causing me to reply, On account of my hurried sense within me.

³ Bear with me while I am speaking, And after I have spoken, you may deride.

⁶ Hearken, for I am speaking correct words, And the opening of my lips reveals equities." ⁷ For my palate is soliloquizing truth, While wickedness is an abhorrence to my lips."

¹⁵ You shall not do iniquity in judgment; you shall not lift up the face of the poor nor honor the face of the great. In righteousness shall you judge your companion.

¹⁷ You shall not recognize faces with partiality in judgment. You shall hear the small as the great. You shall not shrink away from any man's face, because the judgment, it is Elohim's. And the matter which is too hard for you, you shall bring near to me that I may hear it.

¹⁹ You shall not turn aside the judgment; you shall neither recognize faces in partiality nor take a bribe, for the bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and subverts the words of the righteous.

¹⁷ and your maid-servant said, Let, I pray you, the word of my lord the king be for ease; for as a messenger of Elohim so [is] my lord the king, to understand the good and the evil; and Yahweh your Elohim is with you..

²⁰ in order to bring round the appearance of the thing has your servant Joab done this thing, and my lord [is] wise, according to the wisdom of a messenger of Elohim, to know all that [is] in the land..

⁸ Would you lift up His face? Would you contend for El?

¹⁰ He shall reprove, yea reprove you, If in secrecy you lift up faces.

¹⁹ Who does not repute chiefs, Nor is He partial to the rich-man above the poor,For they all are the work of His hands?

²³ These also are sayings of the wise:To be biased in judgment is never good.

¹⁶ And they are dispatching to Him their disciples, with the Herodians, saying, "Teacher, we are aware that you are true, and are teaching the way of God in truth, and you are not caring concerning anyone, for you are not looking at the face of men."

²² Now the populace retorted, "A god's voice, and not a man's!" ²³ Now instantly a messenger of the Lord smites him, because he gives not the glory to God, and, becoming the food of worms, he gives up his soul."

² Now at his being called, Tertullus begins to accuse him, saying, "Happening upon much peace through you, and reforms in this nation coming to be through your providence, ³ both in every way and everywhere, we are welcoming it, most mighty Felix, with all thankfulness."

⁵ Such a one is telling his associates to share a portion with him, While the eyes of his own sons are failing.

² They speak hypocrisy, each one with his associate; With a lip of slick words, with a double-minded heart they speak. ³ May Yahweh cut off all lips of slick words, The tongue speaking great things.

⁵ A master who is slick of tongue toward his associate Is one who spreads a net for his footsteps.

¹⁰ For, at present, am I persuading men or God? Or am I seeking to please men? If I still pleased men, I were not a slave of Christ."

⁵ For neither did we at any time become flattering in expression, according as you are aware; neither with a pretense for greed, God is witness;"
